one thing that took me embarrassingly long to learn is "sometimes when people say things, they will not be true."

I used to tell people about this revelation and they'd be like yeah.....duh.....but like, why wouldn't my base assumption be that you're communicating to me in a straightforward manner. anyway, I get scammed a lot.

the lucanis almost kiss scene with the demisexual virgin confirmation changes everything in the best way possible, because, as an aroace, lemme tell ya. i have had so many times where i’ve SHOCKED myself with my own game. turns out flirting comes very easily when there’s no actual attraction or plans to follow through. and then, once i realise that’s what i’m doing? leading someone on? i immediately have to remove myself. usually much more gracelessly than he does, so good on him.

i cannot take the lucanis romance discourse anymore. this game was advertised as having the best romances in the entire franchise and then when the actual game dropped he is the one character with the least content in the entire game despite being a MAIN companion esp in relation to the other quests + his romance lock in scene is LITERALLY 45 seconds, it has barely any substance and it's pretty poorly written AND if during the first big choice in the game u get locked out of his romance (which. even tho it could be in character that is a BAD decision in a game series that prides itself again on its romances and is actually a sign of not good decision making taking into consideration the fact that he becomes a NOTHING character regardless of romance after saving minrathous) i think people are allowed to be a bit bitter and disappointed because THAT IS NEITHER NORMAL NOR A GOOD DECISION IN AN RPG THAT'S COMPANION DRIVEN.

#in what world is it normal or good writing to have a MAJOR CHARACTER that u just cannot get to know via his arc because u had to make #a choice.#i WANT my decisions to impact my gameplay yes. i want characters who i've wronged to fight me every step of the way. one of my favorite #parts of inquisition is having cassandra absolutely despise my inquisitor.i enjoy the challenge that is romancing fenris as a pro magic mag #but the way they did lucanis' arc post minrathous/treviso choice was not the way to do it #either they didnt have enough time to finish his hardened arc OR someone sat down and said that in the game u pay SIXTY euros for to get to #know this character. you actually will not be able to see how he evolves as an embittered hardened version of himself lol get fucked #how is that good writing??? how is that good decision making?????#could u have imagined if u had rivalry with anders he just. fucked off to do all of his personal quests without u getting to see any of it #and then at the end of the game u didnt even get to see him blow up the chantry?? he just rolls up and says he blew up the chantry???#THAT is what happened with lucanis. why are we defending that shit #and like god. i wanna like a lot of parts of this game so bad i really do. im trying my best to make lucanis work with what we've been give #but this. blind idolization and defending of veilguard's writing from parts of the fandom makes it SO hard

For the first time since I can remember I did not hate every second around my family and… not only that actually…. Kinda enjoyed myself? Idk, just got home and I’m real tired but I think that’s just cuz I was up early and busy and then had the drive home. Christmas stuff and all that. My mom did…? Get me a pair of shoes that were lesbian colors…. I can’t tell if that was some insane coincidence and she didn’t know or her trying to say/do something all things considered. Apparently my siblings kept telling her I wouldn’t like them when she picked them out (which is fair I wear almost exclusively all black and mostly boots over tennis shoes) but she insisted so…. Mmm…. On the one hand I wish she would just like… say something? But if it was some weird way of being supportive I guess it was kinda sweet? Idk. I might be reading into it and it was just a coincidence

They also all insisted on helping me move in February which kinda has me like ???? Because I’ve moved four times since I’ve moved out and they have never once done a THING to help even when I lived much closer but I’ll take it cuz that means I won’t have to rent a truck cuz they’ll bring theirs and I won’t have to hire ppl to move the big furniture so that’s a lot of money I’ll be saving

They're also giving me one of the beds and mattresses from my great grandma's house since they've been clearing it out after she died a few months ago because when they asked what all I would I have to move and didn't say a bed and then explained my bed is a 20+yo mattress laid directly on the floor they were like :/ which obvi I know wasn't ideal I just couldn't afford to get a new one but now I won't have to. Obviously it's used but it's still only a year or so old they said, and I don't think I've EVER had a mattress that wasn't at least 15 years old so that'll be nice. I hope it helps some of my back issues...

Anyways, idk what fucking happened to these people in the span of a couple months but it kinda feels unreal
