Heck it - I answered the rest of those Poke-themed asks because I wanted to, fight me ✨

Eevee - What Eeveelutions would fit you and your F/O?

-He's Umbreon for sure! I feel like dark n steel types tend to suit him best so Umbreon is his Eeveelution for sure - Umbreon has sort of a broody expression that matches Soul well, and it, like Absol his ace, I think gets sort of a bad rep because of its typing, kind of how some might assume the worst about Soul because of his sort of "bad boy" aesthetic, when that couldn't be further from the truth! On my end - my first fav Eeveelution was Vaporeon because it was the first one I raised properly, but my current fav is Sylveon (actually it's a tie between Sylveon and Umbreon but seeing as Soul has Umbreon) so I guess...a tie between Vaporeon and Sylveon? Water is often associated with adaptability and I don't particularly like being adaptable but I think I'm fairly good at doing so lol, while Sylveon evolves through lots of love and I think I have a lot of love to give!

Alolan!Raichu - Have you and your F/O ever tried surfing?

-No! :0 Soul's done body-boarding before but not full on surfing; I have never tried either properly (like, I've used body-boards for fun but that's it). We both like swimming tho!

Gengar - Do either of you believe in ghosts?

-Mm...SE-verse wise, technically souls that persist without being absorbed quickly have the potential to manifest as ghosts, so :0

Meganium - Flower power! Do you two have a garden (or plan to grow one)?

-Nah; I do not have a green thumb and we also have a cat - our apartment doesn't have a lot of outdoor space so anything that we grow would have to be grown inside, and Yutaka would 100% chew on the plants sjfdgnlsfjg. Maybe when we have our own bigger space growing vegetables might be fun to try, but I don't think I'm particularly adept at growing things to begin with so probably not TuT;;

Roserade - Have you or your F/O ever given each other a bouquet? What kinds of flowers were in it?

-I am actually allergic to flowers |D I think they're very beautiful but having them in the same room as me makes me sneeze like crazy, so Soul does not often get me bouquets TAT;;; a couple of times before he knew me well enough to know that he did though! Standard roses the first time, but he got me a bouquet with red spider lilies once - which, we're both aware of the standard symbolism behind them, but they're my favorite flower regardless, so I was touched because he remembered!!

Soul's not the biggest fan of flowers so I've never given him a bouquet as a present.

Comfey - The best way to relax with each other?

-Chillin' on the couch either watching something or playing a video game together. Video game might be our favorite - we don't play a lot of multiplayer stuff, rather we tag-team a single player game, giving each other hints or working together to solve puzzles, it's a lot of fun! TuT

Mimikyu - Imagine cosplaying as your F/O (or your F/O cosplaying as you). How does it turn out?

-Mweheh, I do casual cosplay of him all the time because I have stolen multiple articles of clothing from him :3c mostly stuff he wore as a teen that doesn't fit him anymore but fits me well enough because I'm short, like his track jacket and a couple of sweaters. He is bemused by this |3

The style of t-shirt I used to wear back them is actually a style of t-shirt he wears fairly frequently still, so I guess he does casual cosplay of me too in that way? 🤔 I don't think he's ever worn the exact color combo I did tho (red and black, haha). But we do matchy outfits a lot now =w=

Chansey - Who worries more if either one of you ends up in a hospital?

-BOTH of us would be worried, but definitely Soul TAT;; I've broken bones multiple times since we've been together and he was always super worried ;; Thankfully none of those hospital visits necessitated staying overnight, he absolutely would have slept on the floor lol.

Ditto - If someone tried to impersonate you or your F/O, how would you distinguish the two?

that's all I'm saying on that lmfao

Altaria - What’re yours and your F/O’s thoughts on cloud-gazing?

-Hm! I don't think either of us feel one particular way about it :0 clouds are pretty and fun to look at, and if we're outside and bored we've both pointed out clouds that look like funny things to each other, but it's not something that either of us actively seek to do.

Jirachi - Would you or your F/O wish for anything?

-I'd wish for money ;; I know that's pretty materialistic but I'm a broke millennial that basically lives paycheck to paycheck lmfao - I don't want to be CRAZY rich, I just want enough for us both to be comfortable and not have to worry about things and be able to get treats for ourselves and our friends consistently...

Soul's not a very materialistic person, so I think he'd just wish for the continued strength to protect his loved ones.

Luvdisc - Who fell in love with whom first?

-Meeeeeeee .////////. I mused on this recently in other asks I think, but it wasn't love at first sight, rather interest at first sight that developed into love fairly quickly the more I got to know him. It was because I was trying to hang out with him more and get to know him that he got to know me too, and subsequently found himself developing feelings as well 💖

Stoutland - Any pets you own? Care to tell me a bit about them?

-We have a black cat named Yutaka! He is a nasty beast boy whom we love dearly. I am definitely the cat person between the two of us (having to deal with Blair soured Soul on cats for a while lmfao but he's come around) and baby Yutaka more but Soul always gives him treats n scritches and sometimes I've found them napping together and it's adoooooorable TAT////////

Articuno - It’s snowing outside! Do you two play in the snow or stay inside and cuddle with warm drinks?

-STAY INSIDE AND CUDDLE LMAO - I do like cold weather and snow is very pretty but I like to observe it from the inside nowadays. Soul gets cold very easily so he's definitely inside snuggled up to me haha - he will also have a warm drink, but I do not like warm drinks, so I get warm by cuddling him u//v//u

Vanillite - What’s yours and your F/O’s favorite frozen desserts?

-We both like ice cream!!!! My favorite flavor is chocolate - and like, that includes any kind of chocolate, be it plain or with extra stuff in it like chocochips or shavings or brownies or cookie dough or....uh, yeah you get the idea |D

Soul's not a huge sweets person but he likes cinnamon or fruit flavors!

Bellossom - How do you two help each other fall asleep?

-The act of being next to each other in bed is already a big contributing factor to helping us fall asleep, but in case we're having trouble falling asleep:

Soul will often tickle my back and talk softly to me - it could be about anything, it's me falling asleep to his voice that helps. He also once wrote/played a really quick instrumental piano piece that he put on my iPod all sneaky like to help me fall asleep when I had a period of having really bad nightmares, so if I need an even EXTRA push he'll put that on for me ;/////;

I'll sing to Soul if he needs help falling asleep, and I will also tickle his back or play with his hair while I do so.

Jigglypuff - On a scale of one to ten (or tenouttaten), how much of a softie is your F/O towards you? (alt. how much of a softie are you towards them?)

-He's a tenouttaten of course! But in his own special Soul way - like, he's very good at being firm with me if I'm being unreasonable, so he doesn't coddle me. But he's very patient and gentle, and he never gets angry with me if I'm having a bad day because of my anxiety or depression, he's always just steadfastly next to me for as long as I need. We both know each other extremely well at this point, of course, so he'll often give me hugs or physical affection without me having to ask for it, because he can tell when I need it. But he'll also be playful and give me physical affection because HE wants it, coming up behind me when I'm cooking to hold me around the waist and rest his head on my shoulder, or surprising me by taking a shower with me and washing my hair for me. He's .//////. mmm. always so wonderful....

I am also of course a tenouttaten towards him sjgnlgngdg when I get affectionate I get AFFECTIONATE and very clingy and cuddly - my style of giving affection is a bit more "aggressive" than him, I guess? xD but again, we know each other and understand the way we each give affection so he takes all of it in stride - and let's be honest, it makes him very happy that I hype him up and call him cool and the best all the time =//w//=

Delibird - How fancy are you two when it comes to giving gifts?

-Not super fancy in the sense that we don't often get each other expensive stuff. Like, I don't wear a lot of jewelry and don't want expensive jewelry to begin with, so that's not something Soul often gets me - the only things he gets me with any regularity are earrings because I like them and he picks things that he think I'll like, not based on how expensive they are. That's critical for both of us, thinking about what would mean something to each other rather than the price tag - like, one of his favorite things I've gotten him was a little bell with a skull on it that's supposed to protect motorcycle riders, and he still has it on his motorcycle keychain! It wasn't an expensive gift, but it was meaningful to him, because it's connected to one of his hobbies and shows I was thinking about him. So...not fancy, but always thoughtful 💖

Blaziken - Do you or your F/O train often?

-Heeee does! He kind of has to lmao - he and Maka still go out on missions so he has to be in good physical condition to be ready for any sort of situation that might come up. I have gone on and off over the years in regards to working out regularly (anxiety and depression combo be a bitch lmao) but CURRENTLY I try to do some physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day. He comes on my walks with me!

Gardevoir - Has your F/O referred to you as “their princess/queen”? (or vice versa?)

-Noooooooo lmao that's not Soul's style at all |D I know I'm that IMPORTANT to him, of course, but he's never been one for many nicknames; his most often used one for me is "babe". I don't think I'd want him to call me princess or queen tbh, it would feel weird. I like being his babe //w//

I've never called him prince or king either for the record lmao.

Cherrim (Sunny Form) - If it’s a sunny day outside, do you go outside to spend time together or no?

-That is entirely dependent on the temperature lmAO I hate the heat, so if it's above, like, 75F (so like 24C) I will not willingly spend any kind of time outside. But if it's not too hot, sure! As mentioned above we like taking walks together so if the weather's nice and it's sunny we'll take a walk together.

Wailord - Who’s taller, you or your F/O? What’s the height difference?

-Soul issssss a foot taller than me =w=b 💖 (that's around 33cm for my metric friends) Our height difference is v important to me I treasure it, can bury my face in his chest when we hug, I'm the perfect height for him to give me forehead kisses u///u

Chatot - Give me a song that sums up your self ship!

-I think...a tie between Alone Together by FOB and Felidae by Hiroyuki Sawano. Alone Together just felt like our song from since the first time I heard it, same thing with Felidae. We have two playlists (one "normal" one, one strictly for Black Room songs) and a LOT of music is important to us (naturally), but those two songs are special.

Munchlax - What’s one food that both of you refuse to eat?

-Hmm! That's a good question...I refuse to eat a lot of things, I have a lot of texture issues ;; He is far less picky and eats pretty much anything! But something both of us refuse to eat...maybe...zucchini? I don't think either of us like zucchini |D

Shaymin - Have you or your F/O expressed gratitude? How so?

-Oh man all the time! We are both extremely grateful for each other. I express gratitude by doing extra things for Soul, like getting him a present just because or making his favorite thing for dinner. He does those things too, but he'll also take care of things for me, like if I'm too tired to clean but the apartment really needs it he'll take care of it without asking for help, or if I'm tired he'll carry me to bed without asking. We both always watch out for each other 💖

Victini - How do you two motivate each other to do stuff?

-Lotta pep talks! Soul especially is very good at this - I get in my own head A. LOT and he is very good at being objective/taking a step back and helping me work through things when I'm having a tough time or need a little extra push to do things. I'll motivate Soul if he needs it with lil rewards as well - not physical stuff, but like "if you do these chores when you're done we'll hang out/I'll make you a snack/rub your shoulders", stuff like that haha.

The New Little

23. Rainy Rains and Choo-Choo Trains

Synopsis: Thor and Sylvie get the littles ready to go see Frigga in her retirement community.

Word count: 1,025

Stand Alone?: 1/?

Warnings: reference to breast feeding

Notes: If you've been keeping up with me on here, you already know how excited I am for this arc. It's 40 pages long at the moment of posting this and growing (but this chapter is very short), and plotted with the 3 act structure of a traditional novel. I consider this chapter to be a scene setter or prologue.

“Thor?!” Sylvie yelled from the other room.

“Hm?!” he responded as loudly as he could.

“It’s starting to rain!”

“I see it!” he told her. “I have them!”

Loki, in just his diaper, sorted through the clothes in his closet, like every day, while Thor put Mobius in some corduroy overalls, helping him get his legs through the holes and making sure the straps weren’t twisted as the little tried his best to click them into place around the bib, sitting on the open edge of his crib.

The sides had been left down for a couple of days now.

“I don’t think they’ll let you onto the train looking like that,” Thor told the nearly naked toddler still sitting on the floor.

Loki stuck out his lower lip.

“How about we get you into a matching outfit?” Thor suggested. “Mummy would find that precious.”

Sylvie poked her head in while Thor buttoned up the straps over Loki’s shoulders. “Look at you two all matchy-matchy!” she cooed.

Mobius smiled and hopped down from his bed to run up to her. “Momma, we go!” he told her, flapping his hands by his shoulders and bouncing on his tip toes.

“We are going to go somewhere!” she agreed, “that is, if you and Loki can put your shoes and socks on.” She reached behind him to pull out a drawer and began to help him with this difficult part of dressing.

“There we go, you’ve little kitties on your feet now!”

“Kitties!” he repeated.

“Kit-ties!” Loki squeaked back as he looked through his own sock drawer to find a pair.

“Here are your kitties!” Sylvie told him, showing him the second pair of cat socks in her hands.

Then, soon, Thor picked Loki up and lugged him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and grabbed the little’s diaper bag and suitcase as he did so.

Sylvie on the other hand, squeezed Mobius’ hand and briskly led him behind the brothers.

Then, when she could leave him with Thor and Loki, she ran inside to grab a stroller.

“Why did you grab that one?” Thor asked.

“What’s wrong with it?”

“Loki’s pretty big, and Mobius is walking on his own, do we need to take the baby one?”

“It’s comfy for them! And we might as well get our money’s worth,” she reasoned, stuttering a little. “Look how nicely it fits all the bags, too!” That part was true, as the reclined seat did cradle the bags nicely.

Thor shrugged.

The stroller hardly fit on the train, but there was a spot in the corner of a car where Sylvie could put it. If nothing else, it was a little more compact than the toddler stroller was.

Thor set Loki down on a seat just before the train started to move, one that faced a small table. “No! No backwards!” the little one fussed as the car lurched forward.

Sylvie sighed, cut her losses, and let the tall little awkwardly try to sit in her arms, clinging onto her with his bum on the table so he could face forward, just like Thor and Mobius.

At first, she tried to ignore him, and instead hold a normal conversation with her co-caregiver, but unfortunately, Loki was too cute and she ended up running her fingers through his hair and petting his back.

“Ah ah, nope, we’re not doing this that way right now,” she said very suddenly when his squirmy hands began to lift her shirt up.

Loki murmured something incomprehensible.

“If you’re hungry, this is all I’m going to give you right now.” She reached down just slightly to grab a bottle out of the diaper bag by her feet and tucked it into her neck for him.

“Trains always turn you into such a little baby, hm?” she smiled. “Are you going to be a baby when you see your mum?”

Loki didn’t do much to answer, besides readjusting his arms around her and making a tiny peeping coo.

“Are you seeing what Mobius is up to?”

Mobius almost seemed startled as his attention was ripped away from window-watching by Loki tugging on the sleeve of his shirt.

“Bee! Mo-bee!” Loki cooed.

Mobius reached over the table to pet the little one’s hair, running the inky curls through his fingers just like he had seen Sylvie do. “Hi Loki!”

“Ooh! You got the ‘L’ look at you!” Sylvie smiled.

“Mobius, are you feeling big today?” Thor asked.

The little nodded.

“Big enough to try one of Loki’s favorite games?”

“Bigger n Loki!” he exclaimed.

Thor rooted around in the diaper bag for a coloring book as well as a box of crayons and set them out for Mobius on the table.

The boy flipped through and landed on a page he liked before selecting a color and sliding the box over to Thor.

“Would you like me to color with you?” Thor asked.

The little one nodded silently as he got to work. So, Thor grabbed a crayon and joined him.

Frigga’s retirement community was four hours and two train transfers away. Precisely the reason that Thor had taken the time to convince Sylvie to spend the night there. Lord knows it hadn’t been her first idea.

By the time that this third train had stopped, Loki had only grown more awake, hyperactive, and grown-up in headspace-- up to his very top limit of three years old to impress his mother with what a big boy he was, much to Sylvie’s disappointment.

Luckily, she still had one more little to baby.

“You know, if you don’t take a nap soon you’ll have to take one at nana’s,” she told Mobius flippantly. “Are you sure you don’t need to sit in the stroller? We wouldn’t want a repeat of last week.”

Cautiously, he agreed and sat down, letting Sylvie buckle him in. Even though he crossed his arms and didn’t dare touch any of the toys.

The pattering of rain on the nylon fabric shielding him from the rain and fleece baby blanket over him, must’ve felt quite nice.

For a moment, Sylvie almost felt jealous.

ok im thinking about the sonic racing games ive played now. team sonic racing is fun but it is not NEARLY as fun as sonic & all stars racing transformed. this got crazy long let me put a readmore

tsr i had lots of fun with and can appreciate for its visual and musical callbacks to sonic as a franchise but sasrt is just so much more with that and everything else. my god. the replay value is crazy. like i'm still getting good at the controls and stuff but i keep going for the A class versions of the tracks right away to challenge myself and unlock more characters and tracks. i think this is where tsr kinda flopped in that aspect cause it tried to do something similar w the bonus challenges sprinkled throughout, but you kinda just unlock all the characters throughout the story campaign, and i think they only have one challenge track Actually Mandatory to continue compared to the multiple challenges sasrt throws at you alongside the normal races so that you get better at them the further you get. also the car transformations!!! fuck!!!! they shouldve brought back the boats and planes for tsr theyre so fun and give the tracks more diversity in gameplay. i love that they use this to make all 3 laps different in the races. also i enjoy leveling up characters the more you play as them in sasrt compared to tsr's points system where you spend them on a gacha for upgrade parts. i think tsr's customization sweeps though i love to absolutely DECK out my characters' cars in that game and make them matchy between the teams. the team mechanic is really fun too i think it's sweet. sasrt would be fun with it like imagine in the randomized combos having a team with metal sonic & nights & wreck it ralph or something. speed technique power.

my combined complaint for both games is that shadow doesnt have the dark rider (his motocycle). if they ever made a smash kart he has to be in it and have it

Sul sul!

Yes, I have been gone for years and sadly, this is not my grand return.. I recently bought some of the expansion/game packs and realised.. I can’t live with the defaults skins and eyes!

Unfortunately most of the eyes I adore are by creators who have long since retired, their downloads going with them - and the ones I could find weren’t working with all the updates that have happened and so.. my orb eyes were born!

They are as maxis matchy as I could get - it’s my favourite style.

I tried to remove the glow from the vampire/spellcaster eyes and it .. did not go well - and thus they will glow!

The set include DEFAULT replacements for the base game colours, vampire recolours, evil clone recolours and also an edit to the mermaid eyes. (Just making ‘em shiny). There is also an add on - vampire eyes for humans!

Tsukishima

Tsukishima will not admit how cute he finds you, though his phone is full of pictures of you and he thinks you are the most adorable creature on the planet. I mean this guy hangs out with Yamaguchi and loves strawberry shortcake. He clearly has a soft spot for rays of sunshine.

No one can believe that you two are dating because how can you withstand that much salt? The entire Karasuno team (Coach Ukai included) rarely see Tsukishima excited about...anything and though Tsukishima isn’t a different person, he won’t tease you as relentlessly as he does anyone else.

He teases you but also is HELLA protective. Noya and Tanaka get too flirty for his liking one day and somehow a volleyball ends up whacking Tanaka in the back of the head. Will never admit he’s jealous though.

Will not let you put clips in his hair, but he has a box in his night stand of your extra clips, scrunchies, accessories. Says it’s because you’ll complain about losing them, but he secretly likes having it there.

Also he has a picture of you in his phone case, with a strawberry sticker. He told everyone you put it there (but it was him.)

Favorite activities with you: cafe dates and library dates! (Ghibli museum date?!?)

Matsukawa

Matsukawa just looks intimidating, but at his core, he’s pretty lovable. Definitely the most touchy out of these four. Hands on your hips, your shoulders, resting his head on your shoulder...he just likes to be near you.

Probably also the most likely to match with you as well. MATSUKAWA IN THESE WITH YOU. I get mad stoner vibes from him, so if that’s your cup of tea, he’s all about it. Will also let you paint his nails. He’s a whole ass mood.

He loves the way you dress, thinks it’s cool how you have such an iconic style. Walks into the gym with his arm around you, proud as fuck that you are his s/o. Sometimes the opposing team will think he’s soft and then he dominates them at volleyball, and goes for a congratulatory kiss to his sweetheart, while flipping them off.

Also the king of selfies. You basically take up his entire Instagram now, and he has those little photobooth photos on his mirror.

MATCHING KIGURUMIS!!!

Favorite Activities: Carnival dates and picnics. Will make bets on how much cotton candy he can eat, so watch out.

Sakusa

Sakusa isn’t the most...affectionate man, but he cares for you a whole lot. He definitely spoils you with plushies, charms, bags, etc. He’s not much for being matchy matchy with you but he does have a My Melody charm on his bag and a Sanrio face mask.

The best thing about Sakusa is how much he values your interests. He doesn’t just look at you as his adorable s/o, but he knows which characters you love, your favorite movies, and why you love them. Because of this, I definitely can see him having stuff that reminds him of you in his room (where it’s safe and contained). A picture of the two of you, a plush of your favorite animal, maybe a throw blanket you like to use at his place.

Sakusa doesn’t like a lot of things, but he loves you and seeing you smile so he tries his best. He has the vibe like "this is my human and they are mine."

He really likes Katamari. He's not a massive gamer but something about the whole Katamari vibe has him intrigued.

Favorite activities: He’s not the most social guy, so I can definitely see him stargazing with you.

Kyoutani

This man has a permanent scowl on his face and you look like a human cupcake. His arm is always around your shoulders and as you chat absentmindedly about your day, he is on the watch to make sure everyone knows you’re his.

The great thing about Kyoutani is he just does not give a fuck. He shows up in his big boots, dark clothing...and a pastel charm bracelet that matches yours. Pulls out his wallet and it’s a light lavender with a picture of you two in it. He dares someone to say something, but since no one has a death wish, they stay silent.

Kyoutani is also super old fashioned. He may look scary, but he’s a gentleman. Opens doors for you, walks on the street side of the sidewalk, pays for dinners. (This is for both genders, he just feels like he should be the “responsible” one). Not because he thinks you can’t take care of yourself, but because it makes him feel good to take care of his s/o.

Also super into Aggretsuko. He gets her.

Favorite activities: Ghibli movie nights (he really digs the soot sprites) and concerts! He is the scariest guy there, so you usually get right to the front of the stage.

Ji Yan Ran has to retrieve the item secretly, and so enlists the help of Feng Yu Sect’s Sect Master, Yun Yi Feng, who heads the martial arts world’s one and only information trading post. Yun Yi Feng does not deal in business that involves any royalty, but Jing Yan Ran offers him something he cannot refuse - the Blood Red Lingzhi, a rare and mystical herb that is rumoured to be able to treat his life-threatening condition.

Yun Yi Feng was used by his shifu when he was younger to test out all kinds of poisons and cures, and since then, his body flushes dangerously hot and cold frequently, with bouts of severe coughing fits in between. Throughout the first mission where he spends time with Ji Yan Ran searching for the stolen object, he allows Jing Yan Ran to take care of him. Their relationship is pretty flirty and touchy right off the bat, with Ji Yan Ran knowing really clearly that he wants to take care of Yun Yi Feng. When Yun Yi Feng goes anywhere without a coat, JYR always has one ready. He promises all his riches to him, even his mother hahaha (but that’s because he knows he deceived YYF with the Blood Red Lingzhi and is willing to give YYF everything else while also continuing to look for the lingzhi for him).

Of course, they have to uncover a plot and conspiracy against their enemies who are plotting to dethrone the Emperor, and also reveal the secrets of Yun Yi Feng’s birth.

Characters:

1. 云倚风 Yun Yi Feng (right) - The revered Sect Master of Feng Yu Sect as his sect controls the flow and movement of information. People from all over buy information or hire the sect to help them get information, and is considered a neutral sect within the wuxia world. Very intelligent, a cool-headed strategist who also loves riches, whose eyes light up at the sight of treasures and money.

He was a child remnant of a war, and picked up by his shifu Gui Ci, who brought him to this island to live with other kids he picked up. His first few years were spent rather happily there, but then one day the man gave all the children bowls of what they thought was soup but ended up being poison because Gui Ci wanted to test out his new concoctions. At the end, only YYF survived after multiple ingestions of poisons and experimental cures. Because he was the ‘strongest’ out of all the other children, Gui Ci began testing out all sorts of poisons and cures on him after. If someone came to him after having been poisoned, Gui Ci would poison YYF in the same way as a test subject to use cures on, and only after they worked on YYF would he use them on the patient.

His shifu is considered a mad man, and the last straw was when he locked YYF up with several scorpions for a few days and YYF was the closest thing to death at that moment, and afterwards, realizing that he’d gone overboard, Gui Ci is more careful about poisoning him, allowing him to have a slightly more normal childhood, but because of this YYF’s body would flush hot and cold frequently and unbearably. He manages to escape from Gui Ci and sets up Feng Yu Sect.

He only has 5 years left to live if he doesn’t find the Blood Red Lingzhi, when he meets Ji Yan Ran and his request. After meeting JYR he realizes how sweet life is, to have someone who always thinks of him, who cares about his well-being, who wants to make him happy, who buys and gives him everything he wants. In the beginning he is unable to reciprocate knowing he’ll die soon, but they get together anyway after a close call, as JYR tries to find the Lingzhi for him.

He also loves to cook and play the zither, but is so bad at both!! He’s so terrible that every time he approaches the kitchen or the zither the servants themselves try to redirect him subtly and chase him away because they CANNOT stand his dishes or his music hahahaha.

2. 季燕然 Ji Yan Ran (left) - Army commander/general, and a prince. Close to the Emperor, who’s his older brother, and takes a liking to YYF the moment he meets him. He bluffs YYF, says that he has the Blood Red Lingzhi, and then realizing how much YYF needs it, he feels more guilty and guilty for lying to him, and once admitting it, he promises to do whatever it takes to find it for him.

He’s very smart as well, has eyes only for YYF and is willing to indulge him in every single whim he has. If YYF complains that he doesn’t have anything to wear (even in jest), JYR has the garment stores in the whole city send 10 outfits each for YYF to pick. And even though he hates YYF’s cooking and playing of the zither, he lets him do it anyway, fond but exasperated while everyone is staring daggers at him for not stopping YYF.

A few years ago, a close friend of his and the Emperor’s died, and JYR suspects that their father had something to do with it. It’s something that has been troubling him for many years and it’s a dilemma for him because he has to balance between questioning the Emperor but also trusting him and being a good brother/official to him, as clues keep pointing towards the Emperor and his father being involved in shady deals/decisions. His relationship with the Emperor, his brother, can be described as close, but of course even though they are close and trust each other to a good extent, there is still room for a tiny bit of doubt that both brothers are well aware of due to their positions, not that this affects their relationship.

Openly is affectionate to YYF in front of everyone, including his mother, who likes YYF alot as well. YYF once worried if the Emperor would oppose his relationship with him, but JYR said that their relationship should put the Emperor even more at ease, because the world and other officials would not recognize an Emperor who liked men and didn’t have any children, meaning that JYR becomes an even smaller threat to the throne.

3. 暮成雪 Mu Cheng Xue - An assassin who keeps popping up throughout the novel, and is a frenemy to YYF especially because he stole the cuteass snow leopard that was supposed to be YYF’s and refuses to return it. Not good nor bad, he does whatever he’s paid for.

4. 江凌飞 Jiang Ling Fei - JYR’s godbrother, who didn’t have a good childhood with no one to protect him in the Jiang family, one of the big wuxia families in the novel, as he had no parents and was technically brought up by his scheming uncles/cousins etc. He befriended JYR when they were younger and acknowledged JYR’s mother as his godmother because she was truly and genuinely good to him, and spends a large part of his days running in and out of the Jing manor. He’s JYR’s right hand man, but his dream is to be a bum wandering through different parts of the world, having fun whenever instead of being boggled down by duties to the Jiang family and other things.

Amazing Scenes:

Basically YYF fainting and getting sick a lot and JYR always there to catch him ;-; To dote on him!!! Ahhhh my heart

Other Things I Like in the Novel:

The first time YYF plays the zither in the Jing manor, JYR’s mother, shaking, goes to JYR and asks, “Is Yun-er learning some evil cultivation music?”

YYF tends to go out to the markets and will buy back 2kg of flour for example, while all the servants shudder in the fear and cry in front of JYR, who can only sigh but indulge him

YYF’s favourite things include JYR’s mother taking his blankets out to soak up the sunlight in the day so he has fluffy, warmth-filled and fresh-smelling covers everyday to collapse into

JYR once asked YYF if it’s a good thing that he met him, and YYF says, “Of course it’s a good thing I met wangye, because of you, I now know that life can be sweet and warm too.”

YYF carves out what he thinks the Blood Red Lingzhi looks like based on some bogus description JYR gave him and because he’s so hopeful and happy about finally being able to have the lingzhi, he carves it out and wears it like a pendant, and everytime JYR sees it he wants to slap himself for being such a motherfucking asshole and deceiving this man

YYF keeps forgetting his cape/coat, so JYR always gives him his, but YYF keeps taking and not returning and on the fourth time it happens, YYF looks at JYR expectantly, and JYR says, “You’ve already taken three, this is my last one, I’m gonna freeze to death, left without a cape if I give you this one”

JYR always tempts YYF into doing things by giving him treasures, and jokingly promises YYF his army commander ring, which symbolizes his authority and power, and YYF unceremoniously takes it knowing what it is, and refuses to return it to him - After a few times this happens, JYR makes a replica of it so they matchy matchy ;-;

They travel South in a holiday for a few months after the first arc is wrapped up, knowing that YYF doesn’t have much time left to live, and every single day is painful for JYR as the time YYF spends conscious decreases day by day

YYF asks for some oil/salve to use as lube from the army camp’s physician, a night before JYR is due to go off for war, and the physician scolds the messenger for having the time to think about such thoughts, and when the messenger says it’s for YYF, physician is like “... oh. okay, here you go, give this to him” without another word HAHAHAHA

Rambling about the Family Tree

Here’s the Family Tree!

And under the cut is all my rambling about designs or whatever! (this ended up not being about designs too much. Hm)

OK WE NEED TO BE ORGANIZED HERE I’ll be going generation by generation, from left to right. Everyone will be here, just for organization sake. Of course, some people are more important than others, so be warned for long rambles (in generation 2 especially) OK LET’S GO

Generation 1: Iida Parents: Idk man. They don’t even have designs. They’re probably cool Enji: He doesn’t deserve to be drawn well :) That and he doesn’t deserve to meet his grandkids :)) Rei: She deserves to be pretty and be a cool grandma. Her grandkids adore her. Hisashi: This mans is kinda wildin’ in my universe. Whatever he’s up to, it’s not being Inko’s husband. Inko: Soft grandma!!!!! We love her and she loves her grandkids and husband. Toshinori: He deserves to retire and settle down and be happy with his family and be adored by his gandkids. Emiko’s Father: He and Yukie got married (and Yukie got pregnant with Emiko) almost right out of highschool. He expected Yukie to give up her career to care for Emiko, but that didn’t gel with Yukie, so she divorced him when Emiko was little. Idk where he is now. Yukie: We love her. I love her. She’s super sweet and super cool and super short and that’s all you need to know. She also looks a lot like Eijirou (or, at least I tried to make them look similar) Crimson Riot: I subscribe to the Dad-Crimson theory, so here we are. After Emiko started elementary school, Yukie tried to get her career back together, but after meeting and having a thing with Crimson Riot and getting pregnant with Eijirou, she gave it up to be able to care for her kids. Nadie: An American journalist who moved to Japan for work! She and Yukie met and got married when Eijirou was 9-10. She has 3 kids from her previous marriage (that ended in disaster). Christopher Skyline: (Yes, THE Christopher “Captain Celebrity” Skyline. We’re just ignoring the Vigilantes canon over here.) Nadie’s ex-husband and the father of Hanae, Etsuko, and Suzume. He was a serial cheater, and the kids was a desperate attempt made by Nadie to try to make him stick around. Sperm Donor: Just a sperm donor. Mitsuki: Still looks SUPER young. She doesn’t like it when her grandkids call her “Grandma” or anything like that because it makes her feel old. Masaru: Loves being called “Grandpa” or whatever by his grandkids. He loves them, and likes to visit them a lot. Mika: Still quiet and chill. We love her. Kyotoku: Still loud and fun. He’s a cool dude, and he got them smile lines Beru: Her head is weird. I’m sorry queen, but it freaked me out. Ganma: He freaked me out even more. He was my least favorite to draw. Sorry bro. Uraraka’s Parents: Her dad reminds me of my dad (vaguely). They don’t have names, but they’re cool. Also, Ochako was able to get them a nice house, so good for them. Shouta: Just go look at @nartothelar‘s Silver Fox AU that was my main inspiration. He a grumpy old man who only likes his kids and grandkids and family. Hizashi: Same thing as Shouto. I like to think that all of his hair has grayed, so his hair is like Platinum Blond now.

Ok! Gen 1 done, and it was mostly me rambling about Eijirou’s parents. Maybe one day I’ll dedicate a post to them.

Generation 2: Tenya: I had him grow his hair out because 1.) I thought it was cute and 2.) it represents him loosening up a lil’ after school. He wears contacts during Hero Work, but wears his glasses casually. Tensei: Literally just the same dude. He’s Tensei and he’s chill and he’s cool. Dabi: I gave him an eyebrow piercing and a fun new cut. (Fun fact: That’s his Fantasy AU fairstyle) Fuyumi: I hope her hair looks very Teacher-y and Motherly. I think she looks super cute. Natsuo: A simple dude. He finds a cut that works and sticks with it. Although I did give him sideburns and a lil’ touch of beard. Shouta: Instead of shaving his red side, he combs the white side over it. Also, I hc that in his left eye, he’s half blind. Izuku: Yikes. He got the wound early in his hero career. He went blind in his right eye, so he and Shouta together are like 1 and 1/4 blind. Emiko: Eijirou’s older half sister. I would say she’s Girlboss and Natsuo is Malewife, and I think that’s accurate - even if only a little. She’s a social service worker, and met Natsuo in college. I had an old design before, but I like this one A LOT more Eijirou: I am a simp for long hair Eijirou, so here we are. ALSO freckles!!!! I love freckley eijirou. Also stubly beard and cool new scar. He is very dad. Hanae: The chill little sister. Probably a lawyer or professor or something smart like that. Etsuko: The crazy sister. She works in the hero field! If as hero support or as an actual pro, idk yet! Suzume: The ex-crybaby sister. She’s prolly doing something fun and artsy. Also, HUGE demigirl vibes Kane: The energetic little brother! He has most certainly gone pro, since he’s like very early 20s now. Fun Fact!: He was 6 when Mieko was born, so a lot of people thought they were siblings. It only got worse when Akio rolled around. Katsuki: hehe Undercut Bakugou. Also, hearing aids! I put his eyebrow scar there so he and his hubby are matchy matchy. Actually, both of their scars are pretty matchy matchy.... huh. Also, I’m totally not saying he was invloved in the fight that gave Izuku his scar, definitely not. Mashirao: STOP SAYING HE’S PLAIN AND ORDINARY. HE’S BEAUTIFUL DAMMIT. Every time I draw him I think about how darn pretty he is and that he could be like a KPop star or smth Tooru: It’s tooru! Super fun lil’ lady. What a queen. Mina: Look at that kick-ass scar I gave her. It’s what she deserves. Although, that eye may be a lil fucked up. Ah well, at least it looks cool. Yuuga: LOOK AT HIS HAIR. I am so happy with how it turned out! He so pretty. He and Mina are DEFINATELY Girlboss and Malewife. Hado: Also a simple lady. Prolly also needed to stick to her brand of long hair. She still super pretty tho. Lowkey disappointed I didn’t give her the stereotypical Anime-Protag’s-Mom hairstyle Haya: Completely shaved her head, and got more piercings! Like, 100% more Punk Rock. Itsuka: FRECKLES FRECKLES FRECKLES. And short hair!!!!!! Sigh, I love her. Tetsutetsu: I tried to make him look like Ejirou, even if just the face structure. I like how his hair and scar turned out tho. What a lad. Mezo: What a cool dude! Got a sick nasty scar, but covers it with his hair. I think, even with a majority of his face covered, he is still very handsome Miya: She has a name now!!!!!! What an icon. She’s a Hero Costume Designer, and she has a spider mutation. Wolf Spider, specifically (I think). She is so adorable and spunky I love her. Momo: Short hair!!!!!!1!1!1!11! God, what a goddess. We love her so so so much. Also, she gets to have a cool scar, too Kyouka: While she’s in UA, she straightens her hair, but after she graduates, she doesn’t care abt it. Momo rlly likes it curly. She also has that thing going on where you shave all of ur head except for ur bangs (and the side thingies). Oh! And eyebrow piercing! Satsuki: Pretty! Also, I made sure that all the girls who would’ve been 6-7 during the current time all had ponytails now (Satsuki, Etsuko, and Eri) Samidare: He’s super cool, and I decided to give him long hair to make him cooler. Also, Demiboy vibes, anyone? Tsuyu: A queen!!!!!! I love her so much!!!!!!! When her hair is down, it reaches to her shoulder blades. Ochako: SHE LOOKS SO BADASS I AM SO HAPPY. Look at her, with those cool scars, and that cool hair! What a queen! Mirio: Classic Mirio! Tbh, idk if I’ll give Mirio his quirk back. Like a lot of the stuff in the recent arc I’ve ignored, soooo......... Tamaki: He has SO MUCH HAIR. It ridiculous. Since growing it out, he uses it to hide behind if it’s left down. So Mirio likes to do stuff with his hair and make it look cute. Nikko helps, too! Eri: A queen!!!!!!!!!! Idk if she’ll be a Pro Hero or doctor that specializes with pro heroes, but I want her to be happy and help people! Hitoshi: Hanta and Denki weaves flowers into his hair a la Rapunzel all the time. The braid is really loose and shitty a lot of the time tho. Ah well. Denki: Because I moved his black stripe to down the center of his hair, my little sister keeps calling Denki and Race Car. And I agree. He got those scars because he was able to train himself to really not fry his brain anymore, but that means if he overloads, his electricity escapes some other way, so through his ears and into his face. Hanta: That scar was very strategically places because I am a firm believe that Sero will uncannily resemble Shouta when he gets older. I hadn’t done a really good job at that tho....... hm.

Gen 2 is done!!!!!! It was my fave generation to draw UwU. I’m not sure what to say with Gen 3, since I’ve already talked about them a lot. Jeez, idk. I’ll think about something to ramble about later.

Stay

A little ficlet with sick Clover and I’m-no-nurse Branwen. Clover finally finds a way to get Qrow to stay the night <3

Swearing (Rating = Qrow) but nothing naughty, just love bird fluff.

Jimmy had said Clover was sick. Action man never got sick. And if he did he just went to work anyway… Clover having a day off was like open heart surgery for anyone else and as much as he didn’t want to face it, Qrow was worried.

He knocked on the door softly but there was no answer. He was just turning to leave (didn’t want to wake the guy if he was sleeping) when a raspy voice called out, “Yes?”

“It’s me…” he said to the door, “uhh… Qrow.”

The voice croaked, “It’s open.”

The room was pitch black but he could see a huddled form on the bed.

As Qrow’s eyes adjusted, he could make out empty cups and piles of tissues scattered about. This was really not good. Clover was the neatest person on the planet. The guy put his cup down at 45 degrees so the handle was aligned with his wrist. This room was a serious cry for help.

“Shit Cloves, this place is a mess.”

“Very observant,” Clover started to sit up and broke out in a fit of coughing.

Qrow strode to the bed in a flash, “Hey, don’t get up. At least let me get you a pillow.” He found a couple spare and fluffed them up, leaning Clover forward to tuck them behind his back. Then Qrow sat by the bed and finally got a look at him.

“Wow. You look like shit,” Qrow breathed. Clover’s hair was all plastered down, his skin was shiny and grey.

“Matchy matchy,” Clover tried to grin as he lifted a limp hand to gesture at the room.

“Stop moving! Stop breathing! Just stop everything!” Qrow growled. The guy was really sick! He probably had a bad temperature and everything.

“Yes m..”

“SHHHH!”

Qrow pondered for a minute. Ok. Let’s sort this shit.

He turned to his helpless patient, “What did the doctor say?”

“Doctor?” Clover echoed, looking every bit the sheepish jock that he was.

“You fucking fool you. You didn’t go to the doctor?”

“Didn’t see the point, I already know I’m sick…”

“You are an idiot. Stay still,” Qrow leaned forward and put the back of his hand on Clover’s damp brow. “You’re hot but not too hot…”

“Sad now,” Clover smirked weakly.

“You don’t have the energy to flirt. Shhh.”

“I alw..” Clover tried.

“SHUT UP”

Clover nodded.

“Good. How much fluid have you been drinking?”

“A cup every 2 or 3 hours.”

“Eating?”

“I had breakfast…”

“That’s not great but ok…”

“Sleeping?”

“All the time,” Clover yawned, “Feel a little off.”

“A little off!? You’re grey. Go to the doctor next time!”

“Alright,” Clover smiled.

“Ok then,” Qrow nodded, “maybe a drink and a bite to eat, then more sleep?”

Clover pointed to his mouth and tilted his head.

“Yes, you may speak,” Qrow grinned.

“Sounds good. I’m… sorry I’m not… much of a host…”

“You are such an idiot. Just… stay there and I’ll sort it.”

Qrow spent the next hour in the flat just cleaning and airing. He brought Clover water and found some porridge. Clover liked oats (weirdo) and it was easy to eat and not too flavourful for a nauseous stomach. Clover napped between attempts at conversation, which Qrow was quick to shut down.

Finally, the patient was properly asleep.

Qrow looked at him. He was still grey.

Idiot! Why didn’t he go to the doctor?!

It’s getting late but I don’t want to leave him like this… what if his fever gets worse…

Qrow took off his shoes and tucked them under the bed, then he stripped off to just a singlet and boxers. He stood for a minute, awkward and unsure.

It’s not like I’ve never been in this bed before…

He usually just umm… did what he came to do… and left. Qrow Branwen was not a stay until morning kind of guy.

But this is different, he needs me. Just look at the idiot. He stared down fondly and noticed Clover was shaking a little, shivering…

Before he could think he’d lifted the covers and slipped in. He wrapped his arms around Clover’s sleeping, shaking form and thought warm thoughts.

You’d better appreciate this Prince Charming cause it’s never going to happen again.

Qrow lifted one hand and stroked a few stray bangs from Clover’s eyes. Then he settled his head down on the pillow next to Clover’s and wrapped him up in the biggest hug he could manage.

Slowly Clover cracked one eye open and a broad smile spread over his face.

That’s it; he thought as he snuck a little peek at Qrow’s long lashes on his cheeks in the dark, I am never going to work sick again.

Writer’s Corner: It’s a little late, I know. It’s my first time to create a Lyvia one-shot/fanfic. I’m trying to capture the early Lyon who was soooo in love with Juvia. lol. Also, I’ll probably post later what happened after this ‘exchange gift’.

Lyon couldn't even remember how long he has been walking on that pavement. It seemed like it grew longer and longer with every step. But one thing he knew though was that his body hurt like hell. Like he was thrown around the room as if he was paper-light. Stupid ogre. It was such an easy job but he didn't understand why it took him too long to finish it and thus feeling like his own bones were about to break. Okay, maybe he knew why. If he wasn't too busy running after a replica of Juvia's hat he could have finished the job in a jiffy. The stupid giant ogre took a liking to his Juvia hat and made it his mission to chew on the poor Juvia merchandise. And he just had the head-cover delivered to him last week.

That ugly ogre!" He stomped both feet. The anger that was just babbling up inside him exploded, seeing the male version of Juvia's hat chewed on, stepped on, and having holes in them that needed patches. It was practically useless but he held onto it. Lyon was regretful the most on the fact that he was going to pass by Fairy Tail.

"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"

He had another explosion of anger. Stomping on what used to be a male version of Juvia's hat. He ignored the weird looks passersby were giving him because apparently, he had the perfect plan. He was going to stroll into the Fairy Tail building, look for his favorite water-mage, donning his new hat matching Juvia's. She was going to realize how good they looked together, in that couple's hat, and eventually she would finally admit to the idea that he was the only man for her. Plain and simple. Except now he didn't have the hat he needed to go matchy-matchy with his Juvia.

Lyon only realized then that he was making such a scene when a kid hid behind his mother asking if 'that guy'' – meaning him – was crazy. The mother and son turned and walked the opposite side, afraid to get near the scary crazy guy.

Lyon started apologizing to the passersby and laughed it off. But everyone was still avoiding him. They were still throwing him dirty looks. Lyon calmed himself down and asked himself, "Maybe… maybe we are acting a little crazy." He fixed his collar and his posture to show everyone that he was a fine lad and not some uncivilied fool spouting 'stupids' everywhere. He was far from it. Lyon Vastia was a fine, young gentleman – the ace of Lamia Scale – who was now marching the path down to Magnolia store to get himself a new Juvia hat. Chest out. Back straight. And shining with that new hopeful aura.

"The gods do exist!" He declared to the cashier who just told Lyon that she just sold to him the last Juvia hat they had in stock. "You are a life-saver!" He was so happy that he just grabbed the old woman by the shoulder and kissed her on the cheek. He strutted out from the shop, carrying bags of Juvia merchandise he was about to add to his collection: Juvia's heart-filled umbrella; the new 'Juvia punk' poster; her 'swimsuit Juvia' figurine, which he had to hide at the bottom of the plastic bag; and his most prized possession, the male-version of Juvia hat. Finally, the plan was back in motion.

Lyon snorted as he brushed past the the 'Gray and Juvia' figurine holding hands while doing that familiar attack that got him beat at the Grand Magic Games. He might have 'accidentally' bumped against the cabinet that housed the figurines, sending the merchandise on the floor. But they weren't made of breakable materials and simply bounced on the wooden ground. Lyon kind of wished they were breakable though. He also bought the butterfly-printed t-shirt without knowing it was actually 'Gray' merchandise. Lyon had his eyes set on the guild hall across the shop and became oblivious of the young girl rushing to the aide of her eighty year old Nana who just fainted behind the counter.

He went his merry way to the Fairy Tail guild building. When he arrived at the doors of the hall, Lyon scrambled inside his paper bags and pulled out the dark blue, velvet hat, pushed it down on his head, his spiky hair pointing downwards around the rim of the hat. His pale blue hair looked tamed beneath the Juvia-matching hat. Then he kicked open the doors and burst into the guild, declaring his arrival, "My Juvia, your prince has arrived!"

"L-l-lyon-sama?!"

Juvia spat out the light blue concoction that she was drinking, spraying the liquid right into the face of the youngest Strauss, flecks of lavender petals stuck on her forehead, nose and on her bottom lip. The eldest Strauss, who was just passing by, giggled at the poor state of her sister. After another round of giggles, she finally stopped and tried to pluck the petals off Lisanna's face along with Juvia, the cause of it.

"Oh, hi Lyon." Mira acknowledged. She placed the tray on the table where Juvia and Lisanna were. "Are you looking for Gray? He's out on a job." She informed while she took the spot next to her younger sister.

Lyon scoffed at the barmaid. Why would he even look for that brat? And so what if he was out on a job –whaaat? The other, less impressive ice-make mage was out of the guild? And most importantly, Juvia was actually here for his taking?

He scurried over where the water-mage, momentarily forgetting about his 'cold and composed' image, and dropped the paper bags on the table. He claimed the spot right next to the escaping water-mage, making googly eyes at her.

"J-juvia," not a good start. Lyon cleared his throat and started again, way savvier this time and while enclosing Juvia's hand within his. "Juvia–"

"–Wow, you went shopping?" Mira poked around the paper bags on the table which had the logo of the merchandise store across the guild. "Did you get my items?"

Lyon glared at the woman, wondering why he would waste jewels on her items when he could buy the entire Juvia collection. But since he was a gentleman, he kept his mouth shut.

And has no one even noticed his Juvia hat? Anyone?

"Juvia, I came bearing gifts."

Lyon pulled out a long cloth out of no where and draped the same over Juvia's shoulders. Looking closer, it was identical to the white long jacket Lyon was wearing.

"Now, we look like a couple, don't we?"

Lyon threw his arms around the surprised water-mage and pulled her in a tight embrace. Pressing his cheek against hers, a fool's smile plastered on his ecstatic face.

"Lyon and Juvia." He sang with so much adoration.

Juvia seemed to have lost her sanity as she kept saying "L-lyon a-and J-j-juvia" in a trance. Hence, a nosy take-over mage took it upon herself to interject.

"Where are our gifts?"

To Lyon's dismay. He glared at one of Fairy Tail's strongest mages who was pouting at him. As if Mirajane Strauss would ever shudder under those intense black eyes.

"I brought gifts for my princess." He clarified before snuggling against the still seemingly dazed Juvia, taking pleasure in the proximity. Juvia was so close Lyon could smell her scent – Aqua Kiss. He had the same one he got from the merchandise shop across the hall.

"But in fairness, you two do look like a real couple."

For the first time since Lyon entered that rowdy guild, he finally heard something pleasing – aside from the water-mage saying 'Lyon and Juvia' over and over again.

"With that matching hat and jacket. Definitely, a real couple, right Lisanna?"

Lisanna wondered why her sister roped her into that conversation. "R-right." She responded awkwardly, still worried about Juvia who seemed to have been trapped between the strong arms of Lamia Scale's Lyon's. She waved a hand in front of Juvia who didn't respond. Poor Juvia seemed to have lost it.

"Hear that, Juvia?" He pulled his arms away, grasping Juvia by her arms and turned her towards him. "We're like a real couple."

But Juvia had nearly the same expression on her face with the one she had back at the Grand Magic Games – less disgusted but repulsed no less.

Then, everything just went downhill from there.

Lyon didn't know what was happening then. All he saw was a giant figure about to fall on the table where they were sitting at. Then, parts which once composed a table was on the floor. And so were his merchandise. His merchandise!

Lyon kicked the giant muscular man off the ground and hoped against all hopes that his newly bought Juvia-merchandise wasn't crashed underneath his enormous weight. And that one thing he was worried about above else was the 'Bikini Juvia' figurine he spent most of his jewels, and honestly, his fortune. Lyon's hands quivered as he reached out for his merchandise, when Elfman stood up from the floor and went back to the chaos he came from. He slowly peeled off what used to be the paper bags that housed the items he bought from the shop.

He was wrong. There were no gods. And if there were, gods were really cruel creatures. His nightmare became a reality because nothing remained of his Juvia collectibles but remnants.

Why did they have to make the 'Juvia Bikini' figurine out of breakable materials? Just, why?

"L-l-lyon-sama…"

"You uncivilized imbeciles!"

His clothes flew to the air and a very naked Lyon disappeared into the rolling scuffle. He was so into deep his path of revenge that he didn't notice his Juvia hat flying around the air. Stepped on, wet, burnt, frozen until finally it was Lyon's boots, as he landed on his feet, which smashed the iced hat into pieces.

"No!" His scream was so agonizing that it even stopped the fray that he was in earlier. He fell on his knees, trying to grab the pieces of his Juvia hat on the floor. The lady from the store said, it was the last stock for this month. "H-h-how… c-c-can we be… c-c-couples now?"

In his rage, he managed to freeze everyone at the Fairy Tail guild including the guild master. Which wasn't probably wise. After Lyon somehow accepted his fate and finally calmed down, but mostly because he just realized he froze the water-mage too, he apologized to Master Makarov and unfroze everyone, except for Elfman. He said he deserved it. The only consolation he got from this trip were: one, he got to see Juvia, two he got to spend time with her because the inferior ice-make wasn't around and lastly, he got to have Juvia walk him to the train station and send him off.

They talked on the way, mostly him and with Juvia just nodding and smiling from time to time. She was still shy around him, which he took as a good sign. When a biker almost hit Juvia, Lyon jumped into action, pulling the unaware water-mage into a protective embrace. He took note of how she was so flustered, standing so close to him, just a breath away from a kiss. She pushed him immediately and kept her distance until they reached the station.

Magnolia Train Station wasn't too crowded that day. If it was Lyon's choice, he'd want to spend more time with the water-mage. Just a passing conversation would be enough. But fate wasn't on his side. Over the speakers, the announcer said his train was leaving in ten minutes. Out of generosity, or most likely out of guilt and pity, Juvia walked with him onto the platform, glaring at the passersby who were murmuring about them being a cute couple. Juvia said goodbye first, to Lyon's dismay, and apologized on behalf of her guild.

"Don't worry about it, Juvia. At least, I got to spend time with you."

His brain was screaming at him, 'don't even think about saying it' but he did anyways. "I-i-it's like a date or something."

"Eh?"

Juvia didn't look comfortable with what he said. Lyon coughed into his fist and cleared his throat.

"A-a-anyways, thank you for seeing me off." He turned around to step into the railcar but Juvia's hand stopped him.

"Lyon-sama…" She was looking at her shoes or his or maybe the floor, Lyon wasn't sure. She was fidgeting, looking like fighting an internal battle. "P-p-please… please accept this!"

Without warning, Juvia pulled her own hat off her head and pushed it down Lyon's, making his white spiky hair on top disappear while others stick out of the rim.

"It's the least Juvia could do."

As much as he liked that gesture – it was his freaking dream – but something didn't sit well with him.

"It's okay, Juvia." He said regretfully, taking the hat off and returning it to the water-mage. "I can just get another one." He reasoned.

"Juvia insists…"

Lyon's heart somersaulted at what appeared to be a romantic development between him and Juvia. He felt heady as he finally realized that Juvia was giving him something she owned.

Get yourself together you stupid ice-mage. Don't fait now!

"It was Juvia's guild mates who ruined your hat, after all."

Her concern pulled the corners of his mouth into a wide smile.

"Then, don't mind if I do keep it." He said as he fixed the hat on top of his head.

Juvia seemed relief about his acceptance.

"But how about you?"

For the first time that day, Juvia finally gave him her bright smile. He swore his soul escaped his body witnessing that bright, lovely smile. He wasn't even sure how he was still standing.

"Juvia could find another."

"Then, will you accept this?"

Lyon once again pulled the jacket out of thin air, the one he offered to Juvia which she refused insistently, and draped it over Juvia's shoulders. He saw her initial surprise and before she could return the jacket matching his, Lyon jumped into the carriage as the train started.

"See you soon, Princess!"

He waved her goodbye as he declared to the world that he will be back for her again. Juvia pulled a weird expression. Good thing he didn't see it. Lyon settled into his seat, smiling at himself. He had Juvia's hat; not only an imitation or a replica of it but the very one Juvia used. In some culture, that would have meant something big, like commitment. He knew she was just being nice. She was clear on the fact that it was a gesture of apology. He wasn't going to fool himself. Lyon was too smart for that. But it didn't mean he wasn't going to enjoy that moment, this day. It really felt like a date. His heart skipped a beat at the thought. Yes, if people asked, especially Gray, he'd tell them it was a date.

Too bad he didn't get a goodbye kiss.

"Mom, that guy's hat look like yours."

"Don't point, Marcus. That's rude."

Lyon peered over the other section where the noise was coming from.

"Why is a man like him wearing such a girly hat?"

Lyon felt a vein popped.

"My girlfriend gave it to me." He explained. It wasn't like anyone was going to do some fact-check on what he just said, right?

Silly kid! What did he know? He probably didn't even have a girlfriend. 'So do you', the logical part of his brain reminded him. Well, he didn't know that! The other part barked back.

"Oi, ma! The weird guy earlier has a girlfriend?"

Looking closer, Lyon realized it was the same mother and son who accused him of being crazy earlier. He fixed his posture to appear more dignified. It was no use since the mother had already taken her son to the other section, far away from Lyon. Well, at least, no one's going to disturb him now. But before that, he needed some more jobs to work on and jewels to earn. He needed to restock on his Juvia collection which would surely cost him a fortune.

A decade of simblr!

8. How has your game’s aesthetic changed this decade?

I created my original simblr blog mxsims in 2011, and it is still intact (but private), so I have a lot of photos saved! I decided to grab a few pictures per each year to show how my game has changed over the decade! I could have focused on the sims and the families, but if I had done that this post would have to be separated into at least 50 parts.

Under a cut because this still got pretty long! Sorry if the cut doesn’t work.

2011 (December)

In-game camera quality, check! Mostly maxis clothing, check! Shiny hair, check! No knowledge of poseboxes, check! Back then I played in a hood called Rebuilding Strangetown, the original Strangetown but I ignored the premades entirely.

2012

Every sim is a face template #1 and I use a million different custom skintones in one hood. My defaults have remained the same until this day however!

This is The Unnamed, the only band I’ve ever had in my game! I wish to recreate The Unnamed for Whitewave at some point!

2013

Early 2013 I was actually playing the Tricou kids! I sent them all to university to make them playable, and my plan was to have them collect enough money to buy the House of Fallen Trees. I played it on my dad’s computer (I was away from my own), so I played with very very minimal cc. However, I grew tired of playing it pretty soon.

These are Timothy and Suzanne, who lived in the RB Strangetown’s orphanage! In 2013 you can actually start seeing more variety in my sims’ facial features. Still rocking shiny hair textures and photocopy clothing though!

(August)

I created a new hood in August, called New Leaf, which was meant to represent me starting fresh with my game. I still didn’t delete most of my cc I’d been hoarding all my life, but my preferences definitely switched into more maxis matchy direction. This hood was very short lived, however, and I took a break from updating my blog altogether. I was too focused on updating my blog and making my game look a certain way, and I realised playing wasn’t fun anymore.

2014

I started a new hood, Green Valley, in 2013, but I didn’t update on it at all at first. Not until halfway through 2014! I tried my best to focus on playing and not how my game looked like, and GV is one my favorite hoods to this day!

2015

I stopped updating mxsims in early 2015. Through Green Valley I had found weekly cycles to my playing, I’d dabbled in photo editing and light mods and custom hood deco and all that jazz. Mxsims and Green Valley were like a 3-year long practice run for how to run my simblr!

I started this blog, sometownie, already in October 2015 and created a hood, called Sometown. However, that hood never took flight, and after that I took a looooooong break from simming altogether.

2016

During the summer, I started yet another hood, and since I liked the name so much, I also named this one Sometown. By the time I got to playing this version of Sometown, I feel like I’d gotten set on how to take pictures and how to edit them to my liking. What was important to me was to not focus too much on editing and taking photos, and to balance gameplay and blogging. At first I prioritized playing, but I soon found a nice balance for the two.

Even though I loved Sometown, I had my fingers itching for a new hood. I started a few ones!

The Hurt family lived in Newend, and while I loved this family, the other founder family was causing me a lot of headache, leading me to leave this hood before second generation even got to college! The Newend hood lives on, however, in a way. I transferred both Edwin and Nova’s looks on to Whitewave (Loren and Grace Farwood, respectively) and the Limestone family currently lives in the same house the Hurts did....

I also played a Victorian hood for a little while! However, I grew tired of it pretty soon and the college subhood had some weird graphical glitches so I abandoned these guys fast as well.

My current hood, Whitewave came into existence in the fall of 2017 but I didn’t properly post about it until December. I was once again too focused on how my blog looked like that I needed to focus on just playing the game for a while. That’s why there are barely any pictures of the Limestone family’s founder sims! And that is also why Whitewave has gone through so many hood name changes. I quote: “Currently, it is called Karma1, the downtown hood attached to it is called Citytown and the university is Lucky University. I literally am out of hood names. Maybe I’ll rename them as Towntown, Citytown and Collegetown?”

2018

I think during Whitewave and 2018 my way of taking pics has gotten a lot better and I really like it where I am now! I also started caring more about the way my lots look like - I’ve always loved building and decorating, but I haven’t felt I’m any good at it. I started ignoring that stupid feeling and started decorating the way I like!

The most significant change in my blogging happened in 2018 summer, when I decided to switch from posting separate pictures to posting entire week’s worth of pictures in one post. This way I create less posts and I don’t feel like I have to document every single event that happens in my game. I try to focus on taking nice screenshots and can simply abandon pics that I don’t like. And most importantly, it leaves more time for me to play the game itself! Plus, now I genuinely feel I enjoy blogging about my game! Also I think it’s better for those who follow me - it’s easier to follow little glimpses of my sims’s lives than to read about everything that happens.

2019

In 2019 I have dared to post pictures of lots I’ve built and spent time on, and the feedback I’ve gotten has been great! This year I feel like my blog is where it should be and I’m actually kinda proud of it. I’ve started even building two storyhoods, which hopefully will see the light of day one day. My game is becoming more and more colorful all the time and as someone who dresses in all-black most of the time I absolutely love my colorful game ♥
