How I feel about this character
AAARGSHHSIDK AA AAAJDJEJ AHHHDJSJSJ
uh i mean heās cool i guess.
no all jokes aside there are very few characters that are doing it like him.
heās the leader of one of the most elite teams in the FBI. heās a wet cat. heās the epitome of traditional heterosexuality. heās a boy kisser. heās cold and distant. he loves his team more than anything in the world. heās the next best profiler after gideon. heās a massive idiot and a dork who collects coins. heās got the skill level of a sniper/marksman. he does most of his team's paperwork so they can focus in the field. heās no nonsense and straight laced. he seriously considered using web shooters at the FBI. he frequently catches an attitude with his boss, bigoted cops, and generally people in higher positions of power than him (and they just kind of take it). he has enough connections to get the italian government to revoke diplomatic immunity of a vatican priest. he's on a first name basis with the attorney general. he's kind of (at first) an absent father. he's a single mother of 6. he killed a man with his bare hands. he's so unbelievably gentle. heās a white guy in a basic ass suit. he serves unprecedented levels of cunt.
what i keep coming back to is how much he cares. he cares about victims, he cares about unsubs (the ones that had justifiable reasons for being the way they are), more than anything he cares about his team.
the lengths he goes to to protect them or even just let them know he's there for them. he doesn't raise his voice, even when he's furious and when they lash out at him, he just absorbs it. aaaaaaugh. even roy, who hates his guts, he still cares about and still tries to make nice with for the sake of his son still having a grandparent in his life.
long story short i love aaron hotchner for all of his fucked up ways, big wet eyes, and self sacrificing demeanor.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
am i insane for saying the whole team? poly bau has a special place in my heart. i think he should get to have several boyfriends and several girlfriends. and his boyfriends are boyfriends and his girlfriends are girlfriends and they're all just happy.
hotch x happiness thats actually my favorite ship.
i mainly go for hotchgan, though, they make me want to rip my hair out. their push and pull, their similarities, hotch's head vs morgan's heart. kill me please.
i feel like him and rossi couldve also had a thing back in the preshow days. they give The Subway by chappell roan when he comes back in season three there is nothing casual about them.
hotchley before the divorce was so sweet :( i have such mixed feelings though because i can see how both of them would be frustrated with the other.
john blackwolf gets to be here as a treat because i think they would be absolutely destroy a buddy cop comedy thats actually a slowburn enemies to lovers. im aware this is just the plot of The Tribe.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
jessica brooks. im being so serious she stepped up in a way that very few others did. her offering to look after jack after hailey dies, staying with him when hotch gets called away, defending him against roy. also their banter is wonderful they r sooo siblings to me.
him and garcia are a very close second. obviously her and morgan are It but we gotta start putting some respect on him and garcia because
āi know you see the best in people, and iād never want you to change thatā
and the way she stayed with him when he collapsed in s9 aaarggh.
also hotchniss but as a wlw/bisexual friendship. they both agree that hotch has awful taste in men and that emily is a useless lesbian.
My unpopular opinion about this character
i mentioned this in someone elseās ask about unpopular HCs but i dont think heās this #daddydom character in bed that people write him as. (disclaimer, headcanons are headcanons and im not bashing them, this is just what i think)
i can see him being dominant in bed (tho im a sub!hotch truther) but i dont think heād go in for sadism or degrading or anything like that. given his childhood abuse, i cant imagine heād enjoy hitting his partner or making them cry (even if it is consensual). in the show, he's very overtly gentle, especially with the people he loves.
i also dont think heād enjoy a big age gap relationship with a subordinate either (i also see this being floated around). my man is a stickler for the rules and if theres a fraternization policy, i doubt heād break it. im aware i sound like a massive hypocrite bc i ship him w the team but im mainly talking about x reader pairings here.
i was actually gonna put a different headcanon here but i saw a stepdad!hotch x reader fic and i,,, just,,, no. again write whatever you want but he Would Not Fucking Do That lmao.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
PISSED BEYOND BELIEF WE NEVER GOT AN āAARONā EPISODE
i guess 100 was kind of in the same vein but Reid got both āRevelationsā and āSpencerā so i think we deserved an āAaronā
for the love of god expand on his backstory. he was sent off to boarding school, he was a lawyer, a federal prosecutor, he was on SWAT, he's an accomplished sniper, he was with the BAU for something like 8 years before the show started i think. where is he finding the time for this?
#thanks for the ask#can you tell i have many thoughts#frothing at the mouth#aaron hotchner#rant#hotchposting#criminal minds#bau team

buffy/faith for the ask game
(Reverse unpopular opinions)
Easily my favorite Buffy ship and one of my favorites in any work of fiction. I think the main reasons it works so well for me are:
The way it resonates so strongly with what's going on in the rest of the show the season Faith arrives. I mean, Buffy comes out to her mother (as a Slayer), which is treated by the show as ... well, as Buffy coming out ("it's because you didn't have a strong father figure, isn't it?" / "have you tried ... not being a Slayer?" / "I've tried to march in the Slayer Pride Parade...") and a handful of episodes later Buffy meets another girl who is also a Slayer and who she starts spending a lot of time with (because they have a connection -- "it's kind of a Slayer thing" -- which she doesn't have with her other, non-Slayer friends). And while they're busy patrolling cemeteries and looking for vampires every night, this other Slayer is keen to (1) talk to Buffy about sex and quiz her on her love life; (2) repeatedly tell her that "all men are beasts" and "losers" who can't be trusted; (3) suggest that Buffy should be more open to having sex with the people she spends her nights hunting vampires with (like ... who, Faith?); and (4) is delighted when Buffy breaks up with her boyfriend (and later furious when she gets back together with her previous ex) and immediately suggests that she could replace him ("You're still going to that dance, right? [...] Why don't we go together?"). If this was deliberately laying the ground work for an explicitly romantic arc, it would feel pretty heavy-handed. The fact that it apparently wasn't (at least not on the part of the showrunner or of most of the writers) almost makes it work better, in some ways.
The way that Faith is, from the very beginning, very deliberately written as a foil for Buffy, a person Buffy might have been if things went just a little differently in her life -- because she goes through things very much like things the audience has already seen Buffy go though (living alone in a small place in a strange town with no friends all season the way Buffy did in Anne, panicking and starting to pack to run away in Faith, Hope & Trick in the same way Buffy was accused of doing just the episode before, killing a person the way Buffy thought she had in Season 2's Ted, the way her fear of Kakistos mirrors Buffy's fear of the Master in When She Was Bad) and because she is so aware of the fact that she's always being compared to Buffy and coming up short, either by other people or herself ("you get the Mom, you get the Watcher ... what do I get?") it's very easy to tie Faith's arc across the show back to Buffy and to her feelings about Buffy. Faith wanting Buffy to accept her becomes Faith wanting this idealized version of herself to forgive her failings. And likewise Buffy recriprocating Faith's feelings and admitting to herself that she is attracted to Faith becomes Buffy accepting that Faith (and the things she represents) really are an integral part of Buffy herself; that Faith isn't entirely wrong when she says that Buffy enjoys being a Slayer and that being a Slayer is something she should be proud of (or, again, being "a Slayer").
Apparently this wasn't the original plan for the character (if there ever was anything like an 'original plan'), but the fact Faith's arc in Season 3 so clearly mirrors Angel's in Season 2 -- and the fact she is so very weird about Angel all season (and that Buffy is equally weird about how attracted to Faith she just keeps insisting Angel must be) just naturally suggests that Faith might have a similiar role to Angel in the narrative beyond just the circumstances of her betrayal of (and later not-quite-being-killed by) Buffy. And Angel is -- for the first three seasons of the show at least -- primarily cast in the role of Buffy's doomed tragic love interest who she has to (metaphorically) kill but will later be reunited with. Which makes Faith ... well, something.
Even if not all the writers were on board, the fact that Eliza Dushku was deliberately playing Faith as attracted to Buffy (and that SMG was playing Buffy as alternately frustrated by and protective of and tempted by Faith) gives their scenes together a chemistry that I don't think most of Buffy's (or Buffy's) canon relationships ever managed. Whether that's the Amends porch scene or Buffy kissing Faith in the hospital in Graduation Day or any and all of their various fights across the show. And those fight scenes are all great, which is another thing I love about the ship: is it really a proper enemies-to-lovers arc if one of the people in it hasn't tried to kill the other one and left them in a coma for months?
Faith's return to Buffy in the last five epsiodes of the show is one of the last season's saving graces, and it helps that by this point the writers definitely seemed to be playing up the ship deliberately ("Willow said you needed me: didn't give it a lot of thought" / "Defensiveness and weird mixed signals ... I've got Faith for that" / "Deep down you've always wanted Buffy to accept you. To love you." / "It feels like it's mine ... I guess that means it's yours"). Even without ever being canon and without wandering what happens post-Chosen, it feels like there's a real narrative arc to their relationship, from their initially rocky start through to "just good friends" to bitter enemies through to Faith seeking (and finding) some measure of redemption and Buffy cautiously letting her back into her life. Faith isn't in the show much (or even mentioned in the show in most episodes), but it feels like she has a genuinely meaningful connection to Buffy that most characters who appeaer in less than a season's worth of episodes can't manage.
The thing that made the ship work for me, rewatching the show after several years back in 2020, is the fact that Faith is -- even at her worst -- incredibly sympathetic precisely because she is such a loser and hates herself so much. She boasts about being a great actor despite the fact we see her awkwardly telling the sort of transparent lies that ... well, normally only Buffy manages (compare "There's this big party ..." in Amends to Buffy trying to tell her old crush Ford that "there was a cat ... and then there was another cat, and they were fighting"), she wants people to think she's cool so badly but only manages to fool Xander and Willow, she tries to act as though she's happy without friends but we only ever see her alone sitting watching old tv shows or lying listlessly on her bed, she insists she doesn't need a Watcher and "has a problem with authority figures" but she is so openly desperate for any sort of parental guidance in her life that she sides with first Mrs Post then the Mayor. She ties Buffy's mom up so she can have someone to listen to how sad she is that Buffy's moved on to a new guy in college and "dumped" her. The scene in the church in Who Are You? where Faith-as-Buffy furiously attacks Buffy-as-Faith while screaming through tears that she's "nothing ... disgusting ... murderous bitch" is, I think, a strong contendor for the best scene the show ever produced.
As Doug Petrie said, the reason Faith works as a character -- and the reason that Buffy/Faith works as a ship -- is that Faith is incredibly unhappy. If Faith was the cool loner she tries to pass herself off as -- and which some of the fandom seems to think she is -- the ship wouldn't be nearly as compelling to me. Faith isn't just the part of Buffy who loves Slaying and pushes back when other people give her orders, and she's not just another verison of Angelus. She's the part of Buffy from Becoming who lost everything and ran away from home, only unlike Buffy she never got to go home again. As Angel asked Buffy in that episode: "no friends, no hope ... take that away, what's left?". Well, Faith is what's left. Of course Buffy would see herself in Faith, right from the beginning. Of course Buffy would want to protect her. As Buffy (Sunnydale Class Protector 1999) tells Angel, Faith is in pain ... she's somebody who "some people ... protective-type people" are naturally drawn to. The show is very consistent about the fact that Buffy's type is friendless losers who look good in leather and can fight alongside her in battle (but not quite as well, so she can protect them and look after them when they're hurt). And what bigger loser in the show is there than Faith?

this is a rambling post no one is gonna read but I GOTTA WRITE IT because i've watched the whole 911 show in the past five months and never really talked about it, so i gotta say some things that are important to me (some might be unpopular opinions idk i don't really know the fandom, i've only checked the tag in the past weeks for s8 and all i can see is mostly annoying fanwars about which ship is better)
my dash could be biased and tumblr itself could be biased for mlm ships BUT WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS SHOW HAS LESBIANS. like. i'm gonna use the few screencaps i posted here on tumblr while i was binge-watching the show buT
they're everything they're the best they're all i've ever wanted and they're not talked about enough, i don't know if it's because they're a wlw ship and they're a BLACK wlw ship or it's just that they're an enstablished couple and all, but damn i wish i saw them more in my dash and here on the freaking gay website because they have given me so many emotions through the seasons and they're SOLID and i just love them so much :( of course i know karen is not always present because it's a procedural show and sometimes the characters disappear for episodes, but they've solidified 911 in my heart . because damn this show is QUEER and it has been queer since day 1
my top faves are chim maddie hen and buck ok i don't make the rules they're the best but I LOVE THEM ALL and i think one of the best things of this show is the found family concept. you just gotta love them all. even if sometimes they have crazy writing moments through the seasons (like when buck tried to sue 118 or when eddie left 118 jfefhrf)
i love LOVE LOVE 911 because of all the feelings, the found family, how inclusive it feels with all the queer storylines and how diverse the main cast is (but also the case-of-the-day cast too... i'm a fan of another procedural like fringe, it was the 2010 and it was the whitest thing ever, (and the production was racist too) things have changed) BUT IT'S still copaganda. athena grant is a lot of copaganda. the two things can coexist i can love her and despise her story at times ok.
i hope we get a great henren/madney storyline in season 8 because (they're literally my faves) they're the best. i kinda wish for chim and maddie to long for a second children, now that they have mara in their lives? I'm not sure, i just know i need more of them. they're literally . so good to me. they've captivated my heart in s2 and they never left. the potential chim and maddie had was so great, but timing, trauma, depression, many things were keeping them apart, and every win felt EARNED. i just think sometimes straights have rights and that's madney's case.
i love buck like anyone in the fandom, but i think part of the craze on tumblr is due to his bisexual storyline and i gotta say... i do enjoy bucktommy. atm they're cute. being silly and in the honeymoon phase. do i ship buddie? i do, there are so many GREAT things through the seasons that make you feel - wow they could be perfect together - but that doesn't mean i will hate on bucktommy for now (yeah, i know, tommy was horrible in the past, yeah he was closeted and repressed, yeah he could have been better, he was racist and homophobic, i know, but i guess he got better since the characters are ok with him? sometimes we'll never get that resolution on screen) (i think all of them had their bad moments as characters, i mean, i could open a whole file about athena being a bad cop and still she's everyone's faves)
getting back to buck i did love his bisexuality storyline and i love him BEING BISEXUAL, it's not about tommy or about eddie or about anyone it's about him being bisexual. in his early 30s. BUT I gotta say, for how writers have written these characters, for me it made so much more sense for eddie to turn out gay than buck having his bi moment (and it's because of the writing). it makes sense for buck to be bisexual because he has always loved women and he's tried to make his relationships work, unlike eddie, but then he found out he also like men. he had soo many queer hints around him and it's just. fitting. i love him to bits. i wish s7 was longer so we could get things a bit slower, the pace was fast but i loved it. AND DAMN buck was jealous of eddie because of tommy? or of tommy because of eddie? I wonder.
i'm not sure 100% they'll go with buddie for now, but maybe it's just i am not an optimistic per se and i wanna see where they go with eddie's personal growth BUT eddie is gay. he gotta be gay. that man only had one love in his life, shannon, and that love is an idea he has. he thinks they had a great love story, but the truth is that they met when they were young, she got pregnant, he ran away from her for years with the military stuff, then he came back and she ran away, then they got together but still she asked for divorce and then she died. he denies her leaving him because of an idea of something that never really existed. even if he loved her, i'm sure he did love her but, it wasn't something perfect or functioning like bathena henren and madney. eddie is a terrible romantic partner (he's a good dad, but a terrible guy to date lbr) and it's because he's gay. i know everyone in the fandom agrees but i gotta write it down ok. when he's forced to date he feels like he has to perform? he self-sabotage all his relationships with women?? his love stories always end because of him? he had panic attack because of committing to ana??? come on ? the marisol storyline?? That shit is insane if he isn't gay
and that's why i'm asking for eddie to come to terms with who HE REALLY IS without christopher in his life. he's not just chris dad. he gotta stop running away. they have the possibility to make a great storyline for him, after several weird seasons for the poor guy. he gotta understand and accept himself and then maybe he'll work out the things with his son. this is one of the most exciting storylines for s8 and i really hope we get it. if we don't we need a PROPER story that makes sense with all of that tbh.
i'm ok with buddie happening in another season tbh i just want eddie to come to terms with his sexuality. i just love good writing and this show has its great moments with characters and that's why i love it, because it has heart. it has incredible characters i love.
i do love bathena and bobby and athena even if it might not be obvious in this post hahah and i wish we could get back may and henry, i miss athena having actually children
#911#henren#buddie#personal#eddie diaz#chim han#maddie buckley#evan buckley#madney#gay eddie is my current obsession as you can guess. i do enjoy buddie bc dam the buckley diaz family!!! but i dont think the story and#times are ready yet.

Any unpopular opinions/headcanons about shinigamis?
Lessgooo! Iād been waiting for this for a while!
Headcanons
ā¢ Not fully sure thereās a proper academy for Reapers, though thatās the case in a lot of fanon hcs and even the anime.
The Dispatch setup resembles a very typical one in the corporate world, though - newer Reapers are all assigned a mentor who they train under and who asses them for their capabilities in varying fields. According to this, they join a particular department and work under its head (e.g., collections, forensics, auditing, etc.).
ā¢ There are several different branches of the Dispatch spread out over major cities in England - and the same goes for branches in other countries. Headquarters will be either at the capital or in a major city (e.g, London).
ā¢ Though Reapers are all pretty much blind as bats without their glasses, younger ones would probably have it slightly better. Slightly.
ā¢ As for whether they would retain any memories of their past lives, it depends for me.
What would be worse than having memories of who or what was dear to them wiped to prevent them from straying would be remembering it all, but knowing they will not be able to return under any circumstances.
But as Iām uncertain about how to make sense of that, Iād say that I share my mutual @grimreaperauthority ās headcanon about their memories of their past lives being wiped and thus remaining mostly fuzzy. Iād say thatās the case, save for the day of their death or anything particularly defining which shaped or changed their beliefs, imho.
ā¢ Relationships between colleagues arenāt forbidden, but itās expected that one adheres to decorum and keeps their liaisons under wraps. Especially if thereās a major power imbalance involved, because youād be cooked.
Unpopular opinions
Iāll probably have several of you trying to break down my door with pitchforks and torches in hand, but here goes.
ā¢ I donāt see Eric as Scottish, lol.
I havenāt fully watched the musical so I donāt fully get where the whole headcanon about him came into being, but itās not just that. I tried looking his last name up, and āSlingbyā isnāt even a real surname - closest thing is āSlingsbyā, which is of English origin. āKnoxā, however, is a Scottish surname, so make what you will of that. š (Yes, I unapologetically write Ronnie as a Scotsman.)
ā¢ I do not ship Sascha with Ludger.
I always saw the former as a very young student figure of sorts to him, and not just because they appear rather young to me. Iāve never seen them as a couple given their interactions in the manga, and thereās also the fact that Sascha seems to be a literal teen.
Whilst Saschaās age hasnāt been stated in canon and they could very well be an adult for all I know, which would be highly unlikely, them as a ship just isnāt for me. Ludger as their father/brother figure, though? Thatās where itās at.
ā¢ Iām mostly indifferent to Undertaker. I donāt know why, but I never paid him any special attention. Like, he do be kinda fit, but thatās about it.
ā¢ I donāt vibe with the fanon interpretation of Ronald as a player or fuckboy - and not only because I headcanon him as on the asexual spectrum. Even in the manga, he appears to be (quite a major) flirt at most - which can also be backed up by how he disappears.
ā¢ If Othello could talk to women, heād be like a more toned-down Ronald when heās interacting with them, but shyer too. But he canāt, lmao - heās forgotten how to. Takes personal space and being respectful to them seriously, though.
Bi Othello is my fav headcanon for him. I can definitely see him with a woman as well as a man. And though heās often absorbed in his work or Dispatch shenanigans and doesnāt think about girls (or guys) all that much, he definitely likes a pretty one as much as the next man.
ā¢ I donāt see William as a prick with all the emotional range of a teaspoon and little empathy whatsoever. Is he too harsh on himself and his subordinates? Yes. Can he be an asshole at times? Also yes.
But is he a terrible person with no redeeming qualities whatsoever and a rock in his chest where a heart would otherwise beat? No.
He seems like heād be an overthinker and feel extremely strongly towards people and ideas both, but tries to suppress this as he thinks that he needs to. Not only to remain impartial for the sake of professionalism, but also because how men in general are socialised plus his tendency to withdraw when heās overwhelmed mean itās difficult to confront his emotions.
ā¢ I do not see Ludger as German William, but rather someone whoās similar to him yet incredibly different in a lot of ways. William is pensive, almost overly fastidious, and coldly professional. Meanwhile, Ludger is reserved, a tad rough around the edges, and focused - but heās surprisingly patient and better with conflict than Will.
If I have more, thatāll call for another post!

Tangent and Instance thoughts/my Tangent theory. Spoilers for my two friends I just got into exocolonist; wait 'til you've seen the whole women's wrongs plot and then come back. @dillypillars I'm tagging you since you asked to hear my Instance thoughts.
Tangent is an abused child. Before anything else, before she's an amoral scientist or a workaholic genius, she's an abused child.
She's also brilliant. She is capable, at nine years old, of sometimes, if she overstretches herself, gives up even the little sleep she still needs with her augment, producing results on the level of an adult scientist, a habit which becomes lifelong and eventually kills her.
The only praise she cares about is Instance's, and overstretching herself like that is the only way to get that. She's taken on responsibilities most adults spend years of dedicated training to get ready for, as a preteen.
She's isolated from her peer group. In the bar arc, Dys outright tells you that since she started her gene therapies with Instance, she's thought herself smarter and better than her peers to the point that the only ones who try to keep in touch with her are Marz (who's immune to anything Tangent might say to push her away) and maybe Sol (who, if they tried to keep up with Tangent aboard the ship, is also a nerdy science kid, although not (yet) on the same level).
That her isolation is because she thinks she's smart and mature for her age (because she's being held to adult expectations and sometimes succeeding) doesn't make it any less isolation.
Instance encourages this isolation. Instance sometimes even orders it (there's a line when you approach Tangent in late-game where she's like "Instance says I'm not to be distracted by visitors").
Instance also tramples her sense of scientific ethics. Tangent comes to Sol about the engineered plague with ethical concerns about deploying it, but she's not going into that conversation with an open mind at all. She wants her friend and peer to tell her everything is alright; if Sol instead echoes her ethical concerns back to her (or comes at her with new ones), she throws up the same defenses and excuses about how she would do anything for Instance (š©š©š©) that she's doubtless used to suppress those concerns for herself before.
As an aside, I also don't buy that Instance didn't start research on the Engineered Plague until ordered to do so by Lum. Tangent has mad scientist "this could change everything" moments years before in the Strato colony, when you're researching the Shimmer. It might not have been a research priority before Lum, but I don't think the evidence supports Instance not having considered inventing bioweapons to exterminate inconvenient Vertumnan species.
Then there's the epilogue; I've never seen Tangent keep the chief engineer job for more than a year despite everything Instance has done to groom her for the position (wording intentional). She's put aside a lot of her own wants and ambitions to fulfill Instance's goal of having a worthy successor, and then without Instance she realizes she doesn't even want it. If she almost built the plague, that experience is a life-defining trauma for her. She wasn't even 18 yet when she worked on that, but she trusted Instance to know what's best, did as she asked, and suffered a life-defining trauma from the moral dissonance.
One of the most glaring "something is wrong here" moments for me was one of Tangent's colony dialogue blurbs when she was like "only Instance truly respects me," she says to Sol, who she is dating at the time.
I think on some level she really believes that. There's probably some cognitive dissonance between recognizing what she has with a Sol who's approaching her on her level, for the most part, and what she has to believe for Instance (which is what she says out loud), but she navigates that anyway.
At the risk of running off even further into unpopular opinion territory, I think Tangent and Instance's dynamic is actually the better depiction of abuse in Exocolonist (which is surprising, because it's not mentioned in the game's content warnings at all). Anemone and Vace's relationship is a power fantasy of being a bystander to an abusive relationship; you catch Anemone when her heavily-armed, hyper-possessive boyfriend with anger issues is giving her the silent treatment once, tell her she deserves better than that, and she's like "you know what, you're right, I do!" and leaves him and everything is good. Tangent's is more realistic. You might not even see it unless you really focus and look. Sol doesn't see it, across multiple timelines, even if they're dating Tangent in some of them. There's nothing you can do about it; intervening even to echo thoughts she's brought to you just pushes her away. Tangent is getting an emotional need met there that she doesn't think she could get anywhere else. That's more often what it's like.

Character ask: Damian Wayne (duh!)
@venetiangoldroz
Lolll
1. How I feel about this character:
Small boy!! Very intelligent, has a good heart that he usually tries not to show off too often but it is always there with him, sweet animal lover, and is a cool, crazy, weird kid that I love so much lmao
2. All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Jon Kent
3. My non romantic otp for this character:
Jon Kent
4. My unpopular opinion for this character:
Some fans don't like that Damian is a fan of Dinah Lance as a singer, but I personally like it lol. I don't like how silly he was made to be about it though, like singing one of the songs out loud in public for example, because he would never actually do that all lmaooo, he would keep that to ONLY himself lol. Also, I'm hearing now that it was actually a crush he was having on her, which I hate. Like, yes, he's an adult in that specific comic, but I'm tired of DC making him fall for almost every female and older woman that he interacts with, like just let him be normal about them already!!! I just like him being a fan of her music and that's it
5. One thing I wish would happen/had happen with this character in canon:
Not just one thing, cause I'mma list them all here
Start getting the respect he deserves after so muchš¤, cause like he literally changed himself and went through so much development for years now, but it's still not enough for DC writers or even some fans!! Like, just what do you want from him anymore????? He's been trying so much for too long now!!
For writers to stop treating him like he's nothing but evil, because he's not!! He's just a kid who grew up with a kind of life that's VERY different from everyone else's and was just taught ever since from a really young age to see things in other ways because of that. He does have a heart, it's the reason why he's made so much effort to become the person and hero he is today now and has left the whole League life behind. And about him being a tough person, that's just literally his dang personality, it's not something that adds to him being "evil" at all either
For DC to also just let him choose and make his own path as a hero when he grows up. He shouldn't become the next Batman by force or go through with becoming head of the Loa either, one of the big parts about his character is about discovering who HE actually is and figuring out what he really wants for himself instead, so he deserves to make his own choices by his own will. He should also become a vetinarian when it comes to getting a career
Stop with the white washing and start consistently representing his Arab side more, just like how the artist Gleb Melnikov did very boldly and also wonderfully in Robin 2021 when drawing him
And another one for the writers is to also stop making him crush on older woman!!!! PLEASE!! Just cut it out already!!! This entire thing has been going on ever since he was just 10 years old and nothing about it has ever been "cute!" or whatever they think of it as! It's just freaking weird and I don't understand why DC writers keep doing that to him! He's just a kid, not a grown man, so treat him like it!!! And stop deaging woman who were also already much older just to be with him and stop setting him up with his own female family members too! That one's already happened twice now (Mar'i and Cassandra) and now I'm scared that the writers of the second Supersons movie are gonna push that into there too with Cassandra AGAIN and ruin the film that way, which I really HOPE that doesn't happen AT ALL!š
Let him have an actual relationship with his Mother instead of keeping them distant so much! Damian deserves to have her in his life too, not just Bruce as his Father, and she also deserves to have him in hers as well. Despite how things may be, they really love eachother a lot and it's not fair that they don't get to be as close as they were before, which is also really heartbreaking to think about honestly
Damian should also get to have a relationship with Respawn too that can develop into a sibling one at some point if ever he ever does appear again in the future
Never let him act like a normal person, let him forever be his weird, strange self, because that's literally one of the biggest things that MAKES HIM DAMIAN and I love him for it lol. Batman and Robin 2023 tried to change this about him in it's protayal and I hated it, it felt like some imposter, which just frustrated me a lot and made some things boring too. This goes for other kinds of mischaracterizations that were done to him too, like Gotham War as the most recent example, which was a big time failure at doing it well in a different way. Writers need to learn how to get to know him better first before actually writing him in their stories, deciding how he will react and treat things that happen in said story and it's plot. Here's something else much better too, he needs to start getting writers who actually like/love, respect, and actually understand him!
I think that's all for now loll but Thank you for the ask, @venetiangoldroz !! Sorry about the little delay btw, but I enjoyed answering this!!!

For the Reverse Unpopular Opinion Meme, give me Dark Souls.
Gwyndolin and the Witch of Izalith are both fascinating characters, and I really wish they got more fandom exploration.
Specifically, I wish fandom would explore the villainous/vengeance-focused side of Gwyndolin's character more often, and I wish that fandom would explore the Byronic/Prometheus/hero side of the Witch's character more often.
Gwyndolin's carrying on his family's monstrous legacy, mostly out of inertia. He's sending so many humans- "heroes" all- to kindle the flame and die in the process. And for what? Gwyn's dead, the Nameless King isn't coming back, Gwynevere is somewhere far away, and Velka fucked right off.
(Velka's another character I wish fandom would explore more. The concept of a goddess of sin is fascinating, especially given what little we know about the concept of 'sin' in Dark Souls... and the implication that she's the mother of Gwyn's children. But that's a whole nother kettle of fish.)
Point is, Gwyndolin is doing some truly monstrous things, in the name of propping up the old order. The old order that's never been particularly sustainable, and is becoming less and less so with time. The old order that full well half the playerbase wants to see torn down. His personal world's basically as over as the Age of Fire is, and keeping things The Same As They Always Were isn't making anyone happy.
Out of all the people left alive in the setting, Gwyndolin is probably the person best equipped to try to find a new way to keep the world running. But he's not even trying! He's just keeping things the same, and meteing out vengeance to anyone who gets in the way of that. For gods' sakes, the Blades of the Darkmoon cut off sinners' ears and bring them back to him.
I find Gwyndolin a deeply tragic and sympathetic figure, but I wish people would engage with this side of him, rather than just "oh, he's got a soft voice and is some kind of trans, let's assume he's never done anything wrong in his life." I'd love to see more people explore just how much of a miserable monster Gwyndolin is. How much fuckery he's doing, while not even seeming to enjoy it. How much agency he's given up to (his interpretation of) the whims of dead people, and how the nature of godhood means that giving up that agency is the worst thing he could possibly do. And how giving up that agency is honestly the politically savvy thing to do! Except that politics is dead and he should know that by now.
Similarly? I'd love to see people explore the Witch of Izalith as a tragic hero. Because, like, fandom doesn't do shit with her, but she's the one person in the setting who even tried to do (what most of us think is) the 'right' thing.
The Witch of Izalith is the one person in this goddamn world who tried to solve the trolley problem by derailing the train. The world depends on the First Flame for everything that humans need to thrive? The First Flame's going out? Okay, let's make a new fucking Flame, then, what are we waiting for?
She sacrificed everything- her followers, her daughters, her son, her husband, even her own physical form! - to try to make this work. She gave everything she had to save the world, making way more sacrifices than Gwyn or any of his children made, trying desperately to save the world-- and it was all for nothing. Her creation of demons made everything worse for everyone. But she kept going anyway, because what other choice did she have?
The Witch of Izalith's like a much more sympathetic Laurence. Sketchy, conniving, yet incredibly idealistic and passionate? Incredibly learned, but in ways that let her do more dangerously stupid stuff faster and more efficiently? Crazy enough to think this just might work?
I love her. I would love to see more fandom love for her, and her daughters, and the witches of this series in general. I get not seeing it from Tumblr fandom- we ship twinks here, sir- but honestly, I don't even see it from the reddit side of fandom that likes to ship the fromsoft waifs, and that makes me really sad.
But yeah. More love for the fucked up parts of Gwyndolin's character. More love for the Witch of Izalith and her passionate intensity.
(ETA: I realized while writing this that this turned into more salt than gushing, because my unpopular opinions about Dark Souls get salty- buuuuuut I do love me some evil Gwyndolin and some Witch of Izalith, so this stands.)

š¬š§š for the writer's truth or dare ask š
Hello Dor!!!
Ohh let's seeeee...
š¬post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
Regis.
Ohh I can feel the pitchforks already, but hear me out. It's just an opinion: an unpopular one at that. I think CDPR got one scene with Regis that is so not him in book canon: participating in killing a ton of humans during the rescue of Rhenna. In the books (yeah yeah books isnt the same as game canon, but I did say it's an unpopular opinion), Regis steers clear of any conflict that might end faster if he had participated (like the Battle of the Bridge or he could've made fast work of the soldiers shooting at them while the hansa tried crossing the river). The only time he went crazy is when he did drain one of Vilgefortz lackey. So... there.
š§ share some personal lore you never posted about before.
Personal lore of Emhyr that is very very plausible. Emhyr sleeps naked, and keeps in excellent shape for a 50+ year old dude. He is comfortable in his own skin and the fact that he's got no quills tearing the beddings is a constant assurance that the urcheon curse is truly gone, so he enjoys the feel of silk on his skin.
Also the fact that I enjoy requesting my friends for naked Emhyr sleeping is a bonus ššš(thank you @i-be-busy-witchering)
š share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
Ciri/Morvran (Cirvran, Cirivran, Ciri x Morvran).
Ciri wears the pants in the relationship. Also, Morvran isn't as conniving as some make him out to be. Yes, he checks all the qualification for the heir presumptive but Morvran still feels that he cannot quite fill Emhyr's shoes, and is more comfortable being the reliable second banana right hand man to Emhyr or his true heir: Cirilla. Oh and Ciri is the true freak in the bedroom :D
Hope my answer satisfies!
Regis and Ciri/Morvran pics provided by @alphagravy. All edits by me.

Unpopular opinion (?) but I think the reason fans keep holding onto and misinterpreting the entrapment line is that a lot of them were still waiting for him to āgrovelā for the S2 finale. When they didnāt get that, the entrapment line has become the new sin to prove he isnāt worthy of her. Pen forgives him easily for the things fandom holds against him the most. She does not disparage him for not returning her feelings or āleading her onā like fans and antis like to throw in his face. She tries to reaffirm her love for him after the entrapment line, clearly understanding why he would come to that conclusion. I know antis are gonna anti but I cannot for the life of me understand saying you support a ship while hating either half of that ship. Penelope and Colin are too sweet and sexy for that nonsense.
i know a lot of people wanted him to grovel and i do think the show went a little too far with that line in the form they used it for s2. i also think 2 years is a long time to make up headcanons and decide what you want to happen and holding it up as an expectation and it's very easy to get mad when those don't get met.
also the man can't lead her on, he has no idea she's got feelings for him?? he offers her an out on their engagement because he doesn't think she loves him ffs, how exactly do they think he was leading her on?
i never understood hating half of a ship tbh while proclaiming to like it. like, if you don't like half the ship why ship it? if you can't see what the character loves about the other, what are you even doing here? stan the character but leave me out of your bad takes about their other half, ha.
and frankly, just as much as the s2 line is something they took from the book, the entrapment thing is also an idea brought in from the books. it's over a LW paper mistakenly delivered during their engagement ball and colin alludes to her doing it on purpose so it's not like they're just pulling insulting ideas out of the air. so, there's that.
this idea that penelope would just run off or that colin is some sort of hateful, unworthy man because of things he says in anger is...wild. ha. like the girl was never going to leave that man:
now i do not think that show penelope ever meant to entrap him and i don't think even show colin thinks that, he really does just say some nonsense out of anger and hurt when pissed off sometimes. but even book penelope knows he's not going to call off the wedding:
and she does what she does anyway. the show is a different scenario, ofc, it's higher stakes and colin feels far more betrayed than book colin but they're both absolutely furious and terrified for what might happen to her over the situation.
don't complain about the show not bringing enough of the book if when they bring in book elements you're going to complain nonstop about them.š©
even the whole he struggles to stay mad at her thing. like, yes? that's a colin trait:
he does get morose and then he gets mad and then he's mad that he's mad and then he's mad that he's jealous. the man struggles over those emotions a fair bit. but like, he says one twatwaffle line after his trust is quite thoroughly betrayed by the woman he loves and he's supposed to be punished for forever? was there a committee? a trial? a jury?
i'm putting this down here because i don't think anyone will read this far, ha, but truly the angriest takes i've seen come out of this come off as incredibly immature tbh.
you're right tho, they are too sweet and sexy for that nonsense.

I just couldnt merge the two series so I made separate ones. To be fair, I havenāt really read 4koa so my opinion may be misguided but whatever (and I also havenāt watched 7ds in a while also, soā¦) PLEASE hear me out anywayšš
I donāt have much to say about favorite character, Iām literally in love with Howzer and Iāve never loved a character as much as him. for Chion, heās just an asshole and thatās enough for me. He has a lot of potential as a character and Iām really excited for him in the series, I would not be his friend IRL though because he would literally be the worst person to be around. And you know what, everyone can hate him but I will always appreciate himššGilthunder, Diane and Donny are runner ups for fav character!
To be honest, I donāt TOTALLY dislike Ban butā¦idk. I donāt like him very much, but not only for the very obvious Elaine related reasons. Something he did at the beginning of 7ds kinda stuck with me, when he tried to kill Meliodas to get Elaine back. I guess itās supposed to be, like, heartbreaking that he wants his woman back so bad heād kill his best friend???? Mid battle???? Like girl this is not about you rnš Idk if my friend tried to kill me to get her boyfriend back, I think Iād have to kill her idk thatās just meš and Iām really sorry to the Ban fans because I know heās a good character and I get that he becomes a better friend later, that scene just stuck with me though
I feel like this might not be a super unpopular opinion but I didnāt really like Escanor at first. Ig I just didnāt really care about him. I like his night time self, heās very sweet and dorky. The thing I like about SUPER confident and cocky characters is them getting taken down a notch, which he was, twice, so itās fine. For Tristan, Iām so sorry but I really didnāt care for him at allš Before I read most of the scenes with him in it, I thought he was SOOOO bland and boring. Like, he was just nice, and loved, and thatās it. He seems like a character that thinks everything is his fault, which isnt a problem with him or his character, I just donāt really like characters like that. I like that he looks more like Elizabeth, I think thatās nice. Anyway I like him now and I think heās more complex than I thought before!
I dislike Guinevere for the obvious reasons that everyone hates her for so I donāt have much to sayšI guess to cover the least favorite ship category, I donāt like her and Lancelot together and that one scene was super weird. I like her design tbh, sheās super cute, but yeahā¦
I honestly donāt dislike Veronica, I just like her design more than her herselfšSheās super caring and sweet, and loyal, just very abrasive sometimes. When she interacts with people and her family especially, you can tell that she really cares, even if sheās kinda mean. Anyway I love da bob and her dress, itās very cuteš on the flip side, I like Tioreh herself WAY more than her design. I honestly cannot pin down what I donāt like about her design, I just really really donāt like itš Iām sorryyyyyy
For the fav ships, I donāt have too much explaining to do (Iām gonna keep saying that and Iām lying every single time). For Gilthunder x Howzer, I just really love the friends to lovers trope. Although a One-sided! Howzer x Gilthunder is probably more realistic. Anyway I love their friendship as it is :) To be honest I never liked rivals to lovers until this Chion x Donny phase I have going on right now, I have no explanation for this I just think theyāre cute.
Elizabeth is super sweet, and honestly I donāt mind her voice, she is such a caring friend. Jade is just like, the most normal character I think ever so I would be his friends irl, probablyš
I would NOT be friends with Gowther, I feel like he would expose me so often, and like, one of my biggest fears is that someone is reading my mind, so heās literally my nightmare, and I donāt wanna know himš
Anyway Iām done yapping now, thank you for reading this if your at this point lol

zephy baby for the character ask plsss <3
eheheh crow out here enabling me yet again <3
How I feel about this character
Zephyr is very much a 'observe and listen' sort of character to me. A ghoul of few words. They like to watch rather than add in, though when they do add to conversation they are incredibly opinionated. A little sharp with their tongue at times, but generally very pleasant. Wise beyond their years, mostly from all that time spent with Omega in the infirmary where all can occupy themself with is listening to his babbling. Since retirement they've kept themselves busy with their work in the archives when their body allows for it, the chronic aches and pains unfortunately quite good at keeping them from the things they enjoy. Zeph tries to ignore it, truthfully. Push through. A workaholic much to everyone else's concern. Often forgets to take care of themself until their body is forcefully reminding them of their limits.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Do I even need to say Mountain? Do I really? Oh Mountain was their first, he was theirs, they are each others everythings. Mountain may have this new pack and new bonds to nurture but they will always be his first love and they adore him in kind. I won't get into their very incredibly intimate constant dom/sub dynamic because I will write a novel and a half BUT know that it's special to me. Sorry, anyways, the other characters-
Ifrit. Oh Ifrit. They're so weak to him and his boyish charms.
And listen...Listen, I know it is such a crackship and only like me and three other people care about it but Zeph and Phantom :( that's their sweet little wisp. He's got such a puppy crush on them.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Zephyr loves their ghoulettes. The girls are something they treasure and adore, and they are quite protective of their little doves.
But also Mist. I think Mist and Zephyr clicked from the start. Mist is who they retreat to for quiet, unexpectant companionship. Mist in my brain is somewhat aromantic, but I think her and Zeph are sort of queer platonic partners in a way.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Zeph is not helpless. They might have their aches and pains and days where it gets too rough to function but they are the furthest thing from helpless.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I just. I need to watch them play the mummy dust solo one more time. Please. Please I'm begging on my fucking knees.

Handsome Jack pretty please
One handsome jack coming right up! I Loved your thoughts on the characters BTW and that inspired me to do this so thank uuu
How I feel about this character
I love hating him. I bought the main games only to understand his character more. And he. Is. An. Asshole! A liar! A Bastard, a manipulator, scared man, and a sad story of a man who tried to get out of the abuse he's gone through and change, to only lose that chance by an accident.
He thought he was the hero because to him, he was! He went on path of revenge to show everybody who abused him - his grandma, his boss - how from nobody, he could become not just somebody. But a hero. And he sure left an imprint on the world.
I still think though, how he couldn't bring himself to kill granny with his own hands.
At the end of it all, he was scared. And I feel that shows a lot about him.
And God. His relations. The mistrust. The way he
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Nisha,,, like they had such good chemistry bro I'm just like. @sanzosin's propaganda works. He gets just so djrhjsjsjs around her and he's just speechless when you kill her. I also would love to know more about hsi wife. Like he had two somewhat good relations for the moment he was in, and both times, a 'bandit' caused his love to die. Sad!
My non-romantic OTP for this character
I sort of mentioned it in both Rhys and Timothy's posts but I will talk about these two once more here.
Rhys and Jack have such an intriguing dynamic. Jack uses a Rhys but also considers him a friend. He's the closest man Jack ever got to it seems and it's just outright sad. And Rhys both learns a lot through Jack but also, looses a lot. It's an interesting dynamic and I'm glad we were given it.
Same with Jack and Timothy. Timothy works for Jack but isn't scared to talk back often, though he does his job still and sometimes trusts Jack. I don't know if Jack ever assumed he could die. If the keeping in was a curse he was ready for but, since he got them there, that might have been the case. He is a manipulative man with few folks he trusts. And these two were a part of it.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Lort. I really am bad with what's unpopular cus I don't interact much with fandoms sjshshsh so onto some headcanons and random opinions!
I think few people even wonder how much of a persona we witness. After all, the fact even the casino shows not Jack the manipulator but just Villain Jack is interesting to me. He doesn't see himself this way. It feels like a play. He knows his demographic to me. He thinks he's misunderstood and tires to use it to his advantage. I think he both lacks self awareness sometimes but also, is a lot more aware than he shows.
He comes up with such deep plans and manipulates around, I don't see how he could Not. Be concious of some of the effects. He can misinterpret them sure. But isn't it more interesting when w fhsrsfrer is so into himself, he notices and just uses his haters to his advantage?
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Hh. What. What would happen if his wife didn't die. I want him to live. Ouu... Not exactly canon but. Just to see.
#Handsome jack#Borderlands#My ramblings#Character study#Ask#Ask meme#Towerartt#God. I know I also sometimes just focus too much on his sad moments but he is an ass. A lovable one through how charismatic he is.#Great writing Fr Fr. Wish we got more of that Akwuejsjwjskajwjw

For the ask game!
š
Okay imma do DPxDC for this.
What is a popular ship you just canāt get behind?
Jazz/Jason.
I think jazz deserves to be with someone who she doesnāt feel like she has to fix. I also just think she would hate Jason. This is someone who loves her brother more than anything, who has risked her neck to keep Danny safe. The moment that she found out that Jason tried to kill Tim not once but three times and blamed it on the pit madness, sheād be gone.
Like donāt get me wrong, I adore Jason. I write a lot of Jason centric fics. I just donāt think he and jazz would be a good couple or a healthy couple tbh.

fearnie :)
Iām going to assume this is for that character ask thing. If it isnāt? Well youāre about to get infodumped my lovely Anon! (This is what happens when you ask about my blorbos)
First impression
Absolutely loved the Ashley got to play full time in a campaign, and was really excited to see what she had in store for Fearne especially since I hadnāt watched EXU: Prime.
Impression now
I am SO GLAD Fearne is the character Ashley is playing full time! There are so many intercity to her character and she has now live a life of a mortal and not a fey. It is so interesting how this world has affected her. For better or for worse.
Favorite moment(s)
Similar to Imogen, I donāt know how I would choose. Fearne has so many funny moments that they tend to outshine her more soft or serious ones. For humorous, probably when she found out that Imogen was afraid of heights and started swaying the cart whenever they were on it. For serious, I absolutely loved her most recent speech. Honestly take any of her more serious moments and I will probably say itās my favourite.
Idea for a story
Well there is currently my Cyberpunk fic Iām working on and even though I donāt go too in depth with this version of Fearne, I still explore her a lot more. Even though I absolutely adore her, she is quite hard to write for me. I do have an idea where both Fearne and Imogen were raised by Nana Morri, but that will have to be explored at a later date.
Unpopular opinion (Again, I donāt know if this is unpopular, but Iām gonna say it anyway)
Okay! This is gonna be long. People need to stop acting like Fearne (and by extension, Ashley) has no agency. People keep saying how the rest of the party forces things on her and believe she hasnāt made her own decisions which is completely untrue. The shard incident comes to mind where people thought that Ashton (by extension, Taliesin) forced Fearne/Ashley to give him the shard even though BOTH PLAYERS said in a 4-Sided Dive that they thought the shard was supposed to go to Ashton. This then leads to some people thinking that Fearne was forced to take the shard because Fearne was adamant on not taking it but got worn down and gave in. Again, Ashley thought it was supposed to go to Ashton so she played Fearne as not wanting to take it because she didnāt want to steal Ashtonās backstory thing. She eventually took it because she thought, might as well, and look how excited she was to get that new sheet! If she had no agency she wouldnāt be playing with this group, and if she felt like the wasnāt making her own choices she would let them know off screen BECAUSE THEY ARE ADULTS THAT HAVE PLAYED TOGETHER FOR A DECADE!! Iāve been thinking about this ever since I saw people saying that the cast is forcing monogamy on Fearne. Tal was clearly on board with the idea of Braius asking out Ashton and Braius asked if Fearne and Ashton were a thing because he sees the world in Black and White (According to Sam on 4SD) and there for likely views the world in monogamy. LEST WE FORGET THAT LAURA BAILEY PITCHED THE WITCH THRUPLE AT A COMIC CON PANEL HERSELF!!
TL;DR: Stop saying that a grown woman doesnāt have agency over her own character.
Favourite relationship
Imogen and Fearne honestly. Their shared connection to ruidus aside, these two care about each other so damn much. I know I ship them (and since Laura pitched the Witch Thruple I think she does too) but I think currently in canon they see each other as sisters. Again, mentioning the serious moments that I love with Fearne, the amount of protectiveness she has for Imogen is only beat by Laudna. The fact that she gets nervous when the Nightmare King says that Imogen is special and asks what they would do to her if they got her, the way she casts earth bind on her while sheās in her dream because she doesnāt want her to go away, her scream of desperation as she tries to wake her up, Ollieās vision of seeing an older Fearne reaching towards a burning red light (I know itās not an Imogearne moment, BUT IF YOU SQWINT-). Anyway, Imogearne for life :)
(This is not to diminish any of her other relationships. They are all so important to Fearneās character, but my witchy shipper brain took over)
Favourite headcanon
If youāve seen my blog then you might be aware of my Blue Blooded Fey headcanon. This is obviously my favourite, but Iāll add a few others for funsies.
Blue blood, ambidextrous, tooth gap, small fangs, glowing ember tipped ears (after she got the shard), warm to the touch (even warmer after getting the shard)

re: "give me a character" ask thing
can we get your breakdown on martlet :0
- how I feel about this character
I LOVE MARKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Um Iāll keep this part short since Iāll prob ramble on the other ones but yea. She is so awesome she is so me (if I was cooler) I love her martlet the markeps the martk yeah yeah yeah
- all the people I ship romantically with this character
there arenāt really any mart ships I feel strongly abt,,, but I do enjoy martlet/moray when it occasionally shows up in fanworks ig. Voice of reason x voice of reason <3
-non romantic otp
HER N CLOVER NO CONTEST. She cares about them so much it makes me ILL. Even if clover kills dozens of monsters, she still wants to see the goodness in them, believe they can change and have a violence free childhood in spite of what she has been told about humanity all her life (even if clovers actions appear to reaffirm what chujin told her. even when hating humanity and doing her job would be the easier option). She stays by their side when no one else will in the flawed pacifist ending, sheās the one who organises their memorial in the true pacifist ending,,,, SHE MAKES THEM VISIBLY SMILE WHEN SHE FISTBUMPS THEM,,,,, augh
- unpopular opinion
I never know what 2 put for these questions bc unless itās a universally divisive character, the opinions that are considered āunpopularā really just depend on what corner of th fanbase ur in. I guess a constant I see w martlet is ppl just undervaluing her role in the story and ESP her relationship w clover. I really do think mart is clovers favourite person and their bond is at the heart of the game, particularly evident by each routes ending focusing on her confrontation w them on the rooftop. Martlet and clover stopping ceroba together, martlet wanting to adopt clover and lead them away from violence, martlet being the final stand against clover and, as she observes, being the only monster they needed to find a deeper justification to kill (bc everything about her appeals so heavily to who clover is deep down). Itās why I kinda roll my eyes at the popularity of final boss/zenith starlo stuff, it feels like ppl just want martlets role pasted onto him despite that undermining his character arc what who said that
- one thing I wish happened with this character
I wish we got to see inside her house!!!! It would be so cosy in there esp with that unused peaceful home track playing. I need to know how she lives. I also wish we got to see more interactions w her and star and especially ceroba before the final battle in pacifist. I find it so funny that one of cerobas battle texts implies martlet is her friend when basically their only interaction prior was ceroba breaking her out of jail only to immediately abuse her trust to take clover away from her. Iāve said it so many times and Iāll say it again the martlet and ceroba dynamic has sooooo much potential!!!! Theyāre both strongly associated w justice but while martlet demonstrates this value alongside her kindness and reason, ceroba tries to achieve her idea of justice through manipulation, cruelty and tunnelvisioned plans. Do you get me!!!!!!!

SHINOBU FOR ASK GAME!!!
OFC OFC HELL YES MY BELOVED SHINOBU <3 TY JAYFORD <333
Favorite thing about them: There are so, so many things I love about Shinobu, but ultimately I think my favorite thing has to be her all-consuming desire for revenge. That sounds so edgy, but it is very rare that I get to see a female character have a genuine revenge plot line, let alone that being the main focus of her story, and it actually gets to end with her killing the man she wants revenge against. So many revenge plot lines (especially ones given to women) end with the character giving up vengeance, or allowing someone else to take it for them. Not Shinobu. She got what she wanted and told Douma to go fuck himself in hell. Queen shit
Least favorite thing about them: I tried so hard to come up with something, but I truly have no genuine complaints with Shinobu's character and how she's written. So I'll choose something petty. Her hairstyle. Like, pinned up it looks fine, I like it, but we never see her hair down so I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IT DRIVES ME INSANE. I def don't think she has very long heir, I tend to go with shoulder length, but god I would love to know
Favorite line: Tbh her whole monologue from her opening scene still sticks with me. Her cadence and word choices and cheery smile as she talks about torturing the sister spider demon did such a good job of introducing her as a character, and their the lines I can most clearly remember off the top of my head
brOTP: Now.... hear me out.... Shinobu and Sanemi. I like the hc that they grew kind of close themselves when Sanemi and Kanae were Hashira together. I think they probably would have gotten along pretty well (well, by Shinobu and Sanemi standards) before Shinobu adopted a lot of Kanae's mannerisms and personality after her death. Because of this, I like to think that Sanemi is one of the few people she will fall back into her "old" personality with, at least in small ways. I do think they drifted apart after Kanae's death though. Partially because Shinobu emotionally distanced herself from pretty much everyone, but also because Sanemi didn't like her trying to emulate Kanae in the ways that she did. He found it weird and unsettling. But, every now and then, in brief moments where they're alone together, they can fall into old teasing and banter more easily than they realize
OTP: ShinoMitsu, easily! It's one of my favorite kny ships in general. I think that Shinobu and Mitsuri compliment each other as characters very well, and there is so much angst potential regarding their relationship (I know you know what I'm talking about, you understand Jayford haha). Mitsuri inspiring Shinobu to want to live again but she doesn't know how is actually something that can be so personal
nOTP: Shinobu x any man. Sorry that's a whole lesbian. But more specifically, I really can't fuck with Giyu//Shino or Dou//Shino. Keep that shit AWAY from me. I just don't like them in general, but I find so much of the content for them leans very heavily into "woman fixes sad broken man" and makes Shinobu way too nurturing and mothery which.... eugh....
Random headcanon: I like the headcanon that she opens the Butterfly Mansion to any women who need a shelter/resources for any reason, related to demons or not. The estate is huge, and as a Hashira, money is not an issue. So she's more than happy to give any women and girls a place to stay if they need to get out of bad situations (be it related to family, marriage, or something demonic). She is obviously very busy, so she's not directly involved with a lot of the women who are in and out, but she does what she can for them. She's also very willing to get any girls to good trainers to become swordsmen, if they want
Unpopular opinion: I feel people in the fandom swing wildly between two misinterpretations of her. The first being where people act like she's a much "better" person than she is, and who seem to fall for her smiles and pleasant tone. They treat her as if she can do no wrong, and tend to get mad/upset if someone depicts her as less than perfect (wild to me, esp considering canon makes it very obvious that she has many flaws). However, you also have the other side of the spectrum, where people act as if she's a horrible, awful irredeemable bitch and disregard her kindness as nothing but an act because she's complex and sometimes does questionable things. I do think both of these things are rooted in misogyny, the belief that women have to either be perfect goddesses, OR they're two-faced fake bitches, and unfortunately because Shinobu is so nuanced, she tends to get both. But yeah I hate both these interpretations of her and they are both very wide spread. Like guys... can we please just appreciate her for being a nuanced character who has both good and bad aspects, I'm begging
Song I associate with them: I have a couple! Kamikaze and Spoils of War for Shinobu specifically, and then Thank You For the Venom and Dying Star for some ShinoMitsu vibes imo (I should make a Shinobu/ShinoMitsu playlist)
Favorite picture of them: Every time I think of this little drawing I lose my mind, it's so cute and the way Shinobu is just fucking staring at her.... Real
