Your footsteps were purposefully quiet as you made your way to the side of the building you’d sought shelter in. You palms started to sweat again as you held on tight to your gun. It was your only chance.
Chishiya and Kuina went to the other side, running out quickly because the King was distracted. You weren’t sure where they went, but you really hoped they would be okay.
“We’ll lure him into the alley so the blimp can’t send him ammo.” Aguni’s voice rung in your ears. You were watching the King intently, trying to spot any weaknesses. “Then we’ll lure him into the drugstore. I’ll sprint for it. Then you guys enter that alley and lure him in.”
"Got it." Usagi confirmed, looking back at you and the others. You nodded at her, thinking through the plan one more time. And if anything went wrong, Chishiya and Kuina would be able to help.
You were ready, you decided. This had to go well, you'd make sure of it.
"Arisu. You fill the store with aerosol fumes."
"Right." He nodded, looking at Aguni as he explained the plan. You watched the man as well, palm clenching around your gun, finger resting terrifyingly on the trigger.
And then you were gone. Aguni had left first and the others had followed. You looked behind you as you ran, trusting your allies to keep you safe as your eyes searched for Kuina and Chishiya. You gulped down whatever was in your throat, which you could be convinced was your heart. Your shins ached as your shoes collided with the tarmac, ducking behind a car as gunshots rang out.
You peeked up above the car and saw the King looking at you guys, making eye contact with you and shooting immediately. You ducked back down, looking to Aguni for instructions. He himself peeked over the gun and fired a few shots at the King to create an opportunity for your team to rush further.
You all sprinted the final leg to the alleyway, taking your positions, hidden. You rushed through the maze of turns, taking your spot in a perpendicular alleyway. You lifted your gun and took a couple deep breaths. When you peeked out, you aimed for his feet. You doubted you'd kill him, but you could at least try to immobilize him. The thunderous cracks rushed to your ears, making your head hurt momentarily.
And then the King was shooting back at you, and you rushed into cover. Another set of gunshots ripped through the air, An. Her shots made the King stumble and gave you a chance to rush at him with your knife. You sprinted as fast as you could at the bald man and rugby tackled him, pulling your knife and trying to stab his leg. He grabbed your arm in a tight grip, making you grimace. Asshole. You pulled up your knee and planted it right in his crotch.
You winced as your knee struck solid metal and you realized he was wearing some type of guard. You cursed under your breath, ducking as he swiped at you. You tripped and fell back, cursing again as you stared down the barrel of his gun. Time seemed to slow down, but you were brought back into reality by the two gunshots that knocked him off balance. You scrambled back up onto your feet and took one last swipe at the King before scrambling off to avoid being shot by An.
"Shit! Watch where you're shooting, if I die because of you, it's on your hands!" You called as the King turned and took shots at An.
"I'm not gonna hit you!" She called back, clearly confident in her shooting skills. You just didn't want to die, was that so much to ask?
You hid behind the a corner that obscured you from the King's sight in the alleyway, watching as Heiya climbs on the roof of a car and preps an arrow. You sprint over to behind the car, hearing the arrow release and plant itself into the glass of the vending machine right where the King's head would've been had he not moved. God, this entire thing would be so much easier if the King didn't fucking move.
Suddenly, the gunshots were redirected at you and Heiya, and she jumped down off the car right in front of you, beckoning for you to follow her. The gunshots sounded different, though. They weren't quick. He'd ran out of ammo. That was good. That was really good.
And everything goes quiet. You can hear your breathing, you can feel the sweat dripping down your brow, but gunshots no longer ring out as you run with Heiya into new positions. Eventually, there's a restaurant to your left and you run into it, hiding behind a table. You can finally catch your breath. You close your eyes, clammy palms clinging onto the gun as if it's the only chance you've got. It is.
You watch as the King slowly walks past the shop you're in, gun drawn. You raise your own gun, noticing his bulletproof vest missing. You track him with the gun, but you don't shoot. It's finally calm.
And suddenly, gunshots ring out again. It's loud again, and you rush out of the restaurant, taking rogue shots at the King as he crouched behind the corner the Aguni is watching. He turns his gun back to you and takes a couple shots but luckily, none of them hit as you rush back into the store.
There's more shooting, fast shooting. You peek out of the restaurant again, trying to see what's happening. The King is no longer cowering behind a corner, he's shooting aggressively at the spot Aguni used to stand. And then you see an opportunity, and you take it. There's a food cart right next to you, and the doors on that side of the shop aren't fully closed. You can see the King walking down the alley.
You grab a hold of the food cart and sprint, yelling as you push past the wooden doors in an attempt to barrel into him. You don't crash into him as you were hoping, but you do get him on the ground. A vending machine crashes to the ground beside you but he rolls out of the way. Usagi is jumping from AC unit to AC unit, knocking them all down as you take shots at him with your pistol. But all good things must come to an end and your pistol stops shooting. You rush back into the restaurant and reload your gun, grabbing a magazine from your back pocket and filling the empty slot.
You hear gunshots outside the shop and peek your head out, seeing Aguni firing wildly at the King. He rolls out of the way and out of sight, and you spy Aguni rushing out of his corner to run at him. They grapple a bit before you peek out, finished reloading your gun, and fire some shots at the King. Your hands clench nervously at the idea of shooting Aguni.
Your move is mimicked around, other shots firing before Heiya fires her bow at point blank at the King. You sigh, ducking back behind the corner. Finally, it must be over. There's no way the King could dodge a shot like that. Then, you hear more gunshots and peak out back from behind the corner to see that the King is still standing. You rush over to the other side of the street, ducking next to An behind the fallen vending machine as the King shoots wildly at you, An, and Heiya.
You notice another alleyway on your right and lunge over the vending machine trying to get to it. More shots fire, one grazing your arm and making you yelp. Once you're under cover, you inspect your would, using your opposite sleeve to absorb the spilled blood. You grimace as the sting spreads painfully through your arm at the pressure.
From the main alley, you hear Aguni grunting and you panic, peaking out to see the King slamming his head violently into the wall. Suddenly, so quickly you could hardly see what exactly happened, the King rolled over, holding tight onto Aguni's machine gun and kicking him. Aguni went flying, landing in a pile of cardboard boxes and you could almost feel the pain of whatever just happened.
You ducked back behind the corner, checking how much ammo your gun had. It still had a few shots, so you peeked out again and send a couple bullets flying at the King (who was reloading the machine gun he'd grabbed from Aguni) before ducking back behind the corner. Suddenly, you heard Usagi shout and peeked out again, seeing her flying toward the King.
They wrestled for a bit before he threw her near the alley where you were hiding. You peaked out reaching your hand out to grab her and pull her behind cover with you when Heiya leapt off the vending machine with her knife pulled and tried to get a stab at the King. You scowled as he sent her flying as well.
You gripped the cold metal of your gun with unusually steady hands and took a few more shots at the King before you ducked back behind your cover to reload it. An was shooting at the same time as you and one of her shots landed, planting itself right into the King's chest.
You beckoned for An to join you and Usagi in the alleyway as Heiya grappled with the King over Aguni's machine gun. Suddenly, An murmured, "Shit," and you peeked out to see the King taking aim at Aguni.
You yelled right as Heiya leapt up and tried to redirect the barrel of Aguni's gun, only able to aim it down. Aim it right into her stomach. You turned back behind the corner as you heard gunshots and tried your hardest not to belch. You heard Heiya's grunting as she fell to the ground. The machine gun, which you assumed was empty, was discarded onto the ground with a hollow clatter.
An leapt out from behind your corner and took a few shots at him. None of them hit home. He whipped around, grabbing his pistol from its holster and shot her twice. You could feel your heartbeat in your ears as tears gathered in your eyes and you pressed one hand against your mouth to muffle your cries.
"An!" Usagi cried. Heiya's whimpers rang through your ears. Everything felt so loud and you just wanted to crumple into a ball and give up. You cursed yourself, and everyone else, and whatever sadistic monster put you and your friends here. You cursed them all as tears spilled down your newly blood-splattered face.
Aguni let out a scream comparable to a battle cry, scraping the stones on the pavement as he got up. You could hear a gunshot and a collision, but you didn't peak out from behind the corner. You wiped desperately at your wetted eyes with the back of your hand, trying to clear your vision to get a good shot. You could end this. In the background, you could hear Aguni's grunts as he repeatedly smashed his fist into the King's face.
You peaked out of the corner you hid behind, holding your gun in sweaty, trembling hands. Your eyes kept welling with tears that no matter how many times you wiped them would never leave. You tried to aim through your blurry vision, pulling on the trigger and stumbling back from the recoil.
You cried out in frustration as the bullet planted itself into the wall next to the King, more tears gathering in your eyes. As you looked onwards to Aguni beating the King into the concrete wall, though, he crumpled down and Aguni pulled out his pistol.
The barrel of the gun pressed into the King's temple, and, for you, time seemed to slow down. Your mouth opened, the start of a cry escaping your lips as Aguni pulled the trigger.
Just in time, though, the King ducked further down and out of the way, using one of his hands to unload the gun. You opened fire frantically as Aguni resumed punching him. The bullets all went awry, the closest shots only grazing Aguni or planting themselves in the wall.
It took a couple of clicks for you to register that your gun was all out of bullets, and you ducked behind cover. Tears streamed like rivers down your face and blood still flowed from the graze on your arm. You heard a sickening combo of grunting and thumping and crashing as Aguni beat the King and you once again had to fight not to heave.
When you once again peeked out of the alley, the King was landed in a pile of trash cans with Aguni standing over him ever so menacingly. He was grabbing his leg, and, before you knew it, launching him into the concrete wall on the other side of the alley. A gunshot rang out, echoing infinitely in your head and you ducked back behind the corner. You frantically searched through all your pockets, but you were all out of ammo. Bile rose up your throat and everything seemed to ache. Your head hurt and your face felt numb from all the tears streaming over it.
You shut your eyes tightly and quickly snatched the gun clenched in An's motionless hand. Three bullets. You had to end this. You had hardly heard all the thumping and grunting over your tears and the pounding of your heartbeat in your head. When you peeked out from behind the corner once again, they were both crawling on the ground.
The King clambered on top of Aguni and started punching him in the head, over and over and over and over again. You felt bile try to rise up your throat again. You tried to hold your hands steady but the shaking kept throwing your aim off. On top of the tears, you wouldn't even be able to shoot someone from point blank range.
The King wrapped his arm around Aguni's neck in a chokehold and you started firing uselessly, all of the bullets missing by miles. You kept desperately trying to pull the trigger but all it awarded you was a quiet click and continuing to see Aguni's pained face as he was choked to death.
Having enough, you threw the empty gun to the side and leapt at the King, tumbling a couple times before ending up on top of him. You tried punching him frantically, screams tearing your throat with each strike. More tears of frustration just welled in your eyes as he used his arm to block your punches.
With his other arm, he started redirecting your punches. One of your fists flew into the ground and you grimaced. He used the leverage of your arm to flip you over, head banging painfully against the ground.
You struggled as he reached back and unsheathed a knife. The next thing you knew, searing pain was burning through your body as he pulled the dagger out of your side. You screamed, tears flowing from your eyes like an overfilled dam had suddenly broken. Hot fire escaped from your throat as a scream, but no matter the pain in your throat the pain in your side was infinitely worse.
He plunged the dagger in again and your screams only intensified. You squeezed your eyes shut and just wished you could write all this off as a bad dream. You were going to die, and there was nothing you could do about it. You were going to die on the dirty, hard ground. You were going to be stabbed to death trying to do something that was basically impossible anyways.
You had tried so hard. Why did it have to end up like this? You had put all of your strength, all of your mind into this plan. This was your once chance and you had fucked it up.
The knife plunged into you again and again and again and it felt like it would never stop. Your throat felt raw from all the screaming. You could feel hot blood flowing from out of your side. You tried so desperately to push the King off of you but he was just too strong and you were too weak. It was fooling of you to ever believe you were strong enough to survive this sadistic game. You should've given up at the start.
Usagi lunged at the King and pried him off of you, screaming terribly. All you could feel was pain. You wondered if that was all you ever knew. The throbbing seemed to spread all around your body and your groans felt never ending. You could feel something pulling you. Sleep. You shut your eyes and let the darkness take you. Now the only thing you could feel was your chest rising and falling shallowly.
Chishiya's POV
"Kuina, it's a massacre. We need to go help them. They're all going to die." Chishiya insisted, voice desperate and tense with urgency.
"If you go, you'll just die to." Kuina consoled quietly, looking down at the concrete roof of the building they were perched atop.
"Kuina, this is the only chance that we have to save them! They're going to die if we don't do anything!"
Kuina shook her head no, a hardened expression on her face as she looked up into the sky. She grabbed Chishiya's hand and started dragging him away from the edge of the roof. They went down the staircase to the bottom of the building. Everything was quiet, the shadow of the metal blimp blocking them from the light as they marched silently through the streets.
There were only a few thoughts spinning around in his head, for once. It felt so empty. He could only think about you, about how you looked so helpless. You couldn't be dead, right? You were strong. Chishiya knew you were strong.
Suddenly, a loud crashing noise came from above, and Kuina and Chishiya both looked up. The blimp was coming crashing down.
Chishiya wasn't going to let you die. He turned on his heel and ran back, determined to save you no matter what.

He turned on his heel and ran back, determined to save you no matter what.
man im sorry that took so long. i don't really like the ending but i'm finished so i'm happy enough with that. this fic has ended up being really long. thanks for reading it <3

Hi. This one is back. Thanks to the anon who asked when I’d get chapter 6 posted... oops 2.2k words
Spicy warning! No smut, but spice!

Chapter 6 - Yours, Mine
—
If she was being honest, Estelle didn’t remember most of what followed after the wedding ceremony. She knew there was dinner in the Great Hall—a feast of kingly proportions for the guests—and then a reception during which she was pretty sure the entire kingdom turned up to congratulate her that lasted well into the night. But the finer details blurred together. She was tired from being up all day preparing and then staying awake late. The fine satin slippers with their slight high heels she’d been wearing were starting to make her feet ache.
Tomorrow, they’d begin the five-day carriage ride to get from her palace to Avior’s castle in Aria.
For tonight, she just wanted to sleep.
Over many years of balls and feasts and celebrations, Estelle had figured out a trick—there was a certain point in the night where no one was looking at her anymore. Even if the ball or party was celebrating her.
It was that point in the night when she’d slip out and go to the library or go to bed.
And, even at her own wedding reception, that time came.
She’d been sat next to Avior for the feast but for much of the reception they’d been separated. She doubted her new husband would even notice she'd left. Wherever he’d gone.
Biting her lower lip, she crept over to one of the doors that led out of the Great Hall and whisked herself out. She shut the door quietly behind her—though the music and talking would cover most of the noise—and stepped to one side to lean against the cool stone wall. She hadn’t realized just how warm the hall had become. But with hundreds of people’s heat and the warmth of the fires burning for light, she wasn’t surprised.
She took several deep breaths. As deep as she could take with the corset still around her, anyway.
Once she’d cooled off, she pushed off the wall and slid out of her shoes. Barefoot, she was much quieter. Easier to sneak through the corridors. Even with the hem of her dress whispering over the flagstone floor.
She moved to go to the library.
Upon turning a corner, there was something in her way. “Running away from your own wedding reception, Your Highness?” a voice asked. “Are you trying to cause a scandal?”
The crest on the tunic over armor in front of her was vaguely familiar.
She looked up, considering the man blocking her path was extremely tall. Especially in comparison to her.
A pair of wicked horns curled up from his head. His clawed hands were scarlet and his eyes were orange.
The crest on his tunic…
The Knights of Aria.
She swallowed. “The evening has tired me,” she said. “I was going to go to the library to read,” she said. “And you are?”
“Mm… I am Vega, my lady. General of His Majesty’s forces.”
“And is His Majesty’s general on guard duty?”
“I consider myself always on duty.”
Estelle tried not to roll her eyes. “If you’ll excuse me,” she said, trying to step around him.
An arm extended across her vision. “Now, now, princess,” Vega said. “You don’t want to be caught fleeing your own party, do you?”
“No one ever catches me.” She ducked under his arm and went striding down the next corridor. The clicking of hard-heeled boots followed her.
“Then perhaps I should accompany you. For your own safety.”
“I’m not at any risk in my childhood home.”
“Perhaps not under normal circumstances. But this is a wedding reception. Almost anyone could sneak in if they knew the right moment.”
Estelle wanted to throw her shoes in her hand at him. “Go back to your post, general. I can handle myself.”
Vega actually faltered a step. “As you wish, my lady.” He fell behind, and after a moment his footsteps retreated the other way. Estelle rolled her eyes and continued her walk to the library.
The doors were locked when she got there. She snickered and placed her hand directly over the lock. A gentle pulse of white light appeared from the palm of her hand and the deadbolt slid away. Smirking, she opened the door and slid inside, shutting it behind her. The library was dark, but she knew it by heart. The moon- and starlight coming through the windows were enough to guide her. She selected a book off one of the shelves and stepped lightly over to a table and chair next to one of the windows.
Someone else snapped their fingers. The candle on her table leapt to life.
Jolting, she whirled, looking around, her fingers flexing.
A figure emerged from the shadows, stepping into the moonlight. A tail flicked behind him. “Not the only one seeking solace from the noise, I see,” a familiar voice said.
King Avior sat down opposite her. A book held gently in one hand.
“Constant attention is tiring,” Estelle said simply.
“I agree.” He snorted bitterly. “Especially when you get more than you’re even used to.” His free hand gestured less-than-vaguely at his horns. He sighed. “I was the second child,” he said. “I was used to being mostly ignored. Circinus, my elder sibling, was the Crown Heir. They were going to inherit the kingdom. Be the monarch. I was the spare, at best. The bookish know-it-all second born.” He met her eyes. “Our marriage was supposed to solidify the alliance between your kingdom and mine. A second child prince to the second born princess.” He brushed a lock of hair out of his eyes, tucking it around the crown cut to fit around his horns. “And now I am king, and you’ll be my queen.” He stroked the claw of his thumb down the edge of the book in his hand. “A lot changes in a short amount of time.”
“Avior…” Estelle began, not entirely sure what to say. She bit the inside of her cheek and reached one hand out to him.
He pulled his hand away from her. “I’ll understand if you’re not ready to consummate our marriage yet,” he said. “Take all the time that you need.”
Leaving the book on the table, he stood and strode toward the door of the library. Estelle got to her feet and went after him, catching his wrist and pulling him to a stop. “Wait,” she said, peering up at him.
—
In the moon- and starlight filtering through the window, Avior realized that his bride’s eyes were grey, and glittered like silver.
There was something in her gaze he couldn’t put a label on. Her eyes were wide and her lips were parted. The tilt of her eyebrows gave her an almost concerned expression. The freckles across her nose and cheekbones lended an innocence to her whole appearance. In the light from the night, she was even more beautiful than she’d been under the sun.
Avior reached up with the hand she wasn’t holding onto. As though to cup the side of her face. His eyes flicked to his red skin and the claws that she didn’t deserve to be touched with, and he dropped it back to his side before he could caress her like he wanted to.
You render me so gentle, he thought, staring down at her. And so primal. She’d noticed his hand and the concern on her face grew when she saw it drop.
“Princess,” he whispered, barely more than a breath.
“Estelle,” she corrected softly. “I… I’m your wife. You can call me my name, not my title.”
“Where in your heart do you find the ability to care about a monster?”
“You’re not a monster, Avior.” She took his free hand with hers and brought it up to her face, pressing his palm to her cheek. The red of his hand contrasted sharply between her fair skin and white hair. The sight jarred him. “What happened to you was not your fault.” She took a step closer to him, letting go of his wrist. She shifted her weight forward so their torsos brushed. “You can… hold me. If you want.”
He stared down at her, lips parted in surprise. “Estelle, don’t,” he whispered.
“Don’t what?”
“Don’t do anything you’re not ready for.” Still, those demon instincts in him were roaring. The urge to do as she said and hold her close to him was difficult to control. To be invited to touch her? He found himself wanting nothing else. “We… we barely know each other,” he choked out, fighting down the feral instincts. He took a step back, hoping physical distance would calm him down.
“Why does that have to stop us?” Her head tilted to the side slightly, some of her hair escaping from behind her ear. “You are my husband. And, believe it or not, I find you handsome.” She took a proper step closer to put a parchment-thin distance between them. “It’s okay, Avior.”
He didn’t even think to stop his hand from wrapping around her waist and crushing her to him. She smiled slightly. “Estelle, I…” He shook his head. “I shouldn’t… I…”
“What is it?”
“I want you. And it scares me. I’m scared of what you do to me.”
She tilted up onto her tiptoes and pressed a careful kiss to his cheek beside his lips. “Why?” Her voice was barely a whisper.
“Because I’m half-demon,” he hissed out through clenched teeth. Even as his fingers had untied the laces on the back of her wedding gown and were pulling the string out of the loops. His claws could have shredded the string—and probably the dress—but his mind was languishing in the feeling of slowly undoing the lacing, desire building in his chest. “You make me feel more human and more demonic than I’ve ever felt. At the same time. I… I’m made of wicked things and you don’t deserve whatever I might do.”
She leaned her weight onto her other foot, and the star-like splatter of glimmering paint over her chest and shoulders shimmered in the dim light. Avior’s blood roared in his ears. “What do you want to do to me?” There was no fear in her question. Just curiosity. An invitation.
He crushed her to him and kissed her. Hard. The last of her gown’s lace pulled free of its loops.
The dress slid off her body, pooling around her feet on the floor. Leaving her standing before him in a corset and the white satin slip underneath it. His breathing came in heavy pants and she reached up to hold his head close to hers.
He pulled away from the kiss—but didn’t get far with her hand on his head.
“I want to take you,” he breathed. His claws found the lace of the corset. “I want to make you mine and I want every inch of you. Piece by precious piece.” He fiddled with the bow of the lace. “And that scares me to death.”
She reached back and undid the bow of the string herself, yanking at it. “Then do it,” she breathed.
“Estelle—you don’t know what you’re asking me.” Avior clenched his jaw, fighting to maintain control of himself.
“I’m asking you to take me. You’re my husband. Make me yours.”
The way she spoke triggered those demonic instincts. With one swift movement, he shredded the lace of her corset. Leaving her standing before him in just a slip. “Why do you want this? Are you saying all of this out of a sense of obligation? We’re married so we have to do this tonight?”
“I’m saying this because I see who you really are. You pretend to be this arrogant king that’s never fazed by anything. But I’ve seen the way that mask disappears around me. You look at me and I see a man, not a demon. Not a king. You’re smart and you’re kind and you’ve been hiding it from everyone in this kingdom. But you can’t hide it from me. And that’s the man I married.” She smiled. “That, and I find you handsome, like I said.” She gave him a cheeky wink. Her voice dropped to a whisper. “So go ahead. There’s a nook in the corner with cushions and blankets where I like to sit and read.” She nodded to the corner of the library.
Just like his.
He kissed her again. Tentatively, this time. Her hands wrapped around his hips and held him close to her.
“I’m yours, my king. Have me,” she whispered against his lips.
His control thoroughly snapped.
He swept her up into his arms and marched her right over to the cushioned nook, where he laid her down as gently as his raging instincts would allow and climbed on top of her. “How… how attached are you to this slip?”
“This is the first time I’ve worn it,” she replied. “Why?”
“I don’t think I’m going to be able to keep my claws to myself. I might tear it apart.”
“Then tear it apart.”
A feral growl rumbled low in his chest as he leaned down to kiss her. “Are you ready to be mine?”
“I’m ready.”

Steve Rogers - Sex Headcanon
Warnings: Smut, Light bondage, NSFW, 18+
Word Count: Too long, as usual.
First of all, Steve Rogers loves sex.
He’s a bit touch starved after waiting for the right woman, but when he finds you and things move into the physical affection stage, he’s all over you.
During sex, Steve loves that he can pick you up with little effort
He likes doing it against the wall
Standing, almost any position
Likes that he can hold your hips still even when you start to squirm when he hits the right spots
In general, holding onto your hips, your butt, and even when he gets to curl his hands around to grasp your inner thighs, Steve is thrilled. Captain America is an ass man.
He loves your legs too, though.
Likes to pin you down for prone bone.
He hates to admit how much using his strength against you turns him on.
But you love it too and when he realizes that you like the same positions he does, it gets more intense.
Like, he’ll pick you up while he’s standing and lift you to his shoulders, draping your legs over his shoulders to eat you out.
When Steve learns that you not only can orgasm multiple times, but that you enjoy it, he starts to let go a bit more.
At first he was careful in bed. He kept things slow and gentle, not being entirely sure of his strength. But once he gets comfortable…
He goes feral
It starts when you ask him to tie you up. The idea is only familiar to him from Tony and Thor’s jokes about 50 Shades of Gray.
Steve hates 50 Shades of Gray. He thinks Christian is an ass who doesn’t respect women.
But back to the topic: bondage. He’s willing to hear you out about why you want that. And eventually, he says yes.
The conversation about bondage goes like this:
You’ve never done bondage before. Despite having several past relationships and experiences, you’ve never trusted a man like that. Erotica tastes aside, reality is a beast of its own.
And without the feeling of complete safety that Steve Rogers inspires in your heart, you won’t have even brought it up.
But you trust him without reservations.
The idea of bondage for you is totally psychological. To have your hands restrained and be blind folded takes the pressure off of you. Sometimes your mind starts going during sex and it ruins your enjoyment.
It’s not like you’re thinking about the groceries or anything, just that you start planning your next move. Should you kiss him now, or do you need to moan louder? Does your moaning sound like a dying cat? Maybe you should keep it down.
So the blind fold is important.
And you don’t want to be able to move because you’d try to plan that too. Sometimes you put a lot of pressure on situations to be perfect. Perfect because you made it perfect, you mean. Your expectations are of yourself.
This is one reason you hate not being able to achieve orgasm. That matters to Steve a lot and he always but your pleasure first. The man is selfless and sweet. And when your mind decides to shut down the orgasm buttons, you hate disappointing him.
Steve is sold on the idea of bondage once he understands that it’s only an option because you feel safe with him. And he likes being the only person you’d trust to be this vulnerable with. All the 50 Shades objections vanish for him once you explain that part.
When you tell him that your struggles orgasming sometimes are from your own pressures to be good in bed, he gets it.
He loves that about you, your desire to please him and make things good. It motivates him to accept the offer of bondage.
Because it makes perfect sense that being forced to be the recipient and having control stripped away would fix that for you.
Steve says that you’ll have to let him make the plan. Which is *so* Steve Rogers it’s almost funny.
On a random Tuesday you get dinner with a friend and come home late. The lights are off which is weird because you expected Steve to be home. When you step inside you call out for him but no reply. Kicking off your shoes you wander to the kitchen and when you reach for the light switch, a hand grabs your wrist.
You give a small scream as a body presses you into the wall. Then you recognize the feel and the scent of his aftershave.
Steve has you pinned to the wall, wrists on either side of your head, feet spread apart and his big body caging you in.
It’s happening. It’s so happening. And you feel thrilled and scared and outrageously excited.
He’s excited too, you can feel it pressing into your back. The man’s been planning and fantasizing, clearly.
“Do you still want this, honey?”
His first words to you are the reason that you want this. It warms your heart at the same time your panties are growing wet.
“Yes, Steve. So much. Please.”
He rolls his hips, pressing his body against you and you can’t control the moan that passes your lips.
“Red means we stop. Yellow is slow down. If I’m going to do something that I think you need to consent to, I’ll ask ‘is this okay?’ and you’re going to say “Green if you want it. Understand?
“Pick a safe word, doll.”
Eagle is your safe word. Your mind just liked the whole patriotic motif, you supposed.
Once the ground rules are laid out, Steve turns you around and with a tap on the curve of your ass, signals you to jump up.
With your legs around his waist and arms curled around his neck, he carried you upstairs to the bed.
Blindfold goes on first. Then cuffs that are lined with something soft that feels like shearling.
You know without asking that he picked them because he thought handcuffs would be too aggressive. Again, your heart flips.
“I’m going to push you, baby. I want you to wring every bit of enjoyment you can out of this. I’m going to make you come hard. You with me on that?”
You’re with him. You’ve waited a long time to try this.
“I have a plan for aftercare too,” he says.
And that’s your first hint that he’s about to go feral on you like he sometimes does when he’s keyed up from a mission.
Steve Rogers has freaking stamina for days. The man could kill you with sex if he wanted to.
(His sex drive is high… all that waiting for the right girl makes a man horny)
He undoes the halter tie of your dress and pull it down, slipping it over your legs.
He uses his mouth first. And it’s frustrating that he left your panties on.
(The outfit was something he’d suggested. You’d thought he just liked the sundress and had been complimented when he’d said you’d look great in it today. Now it was clear he’d been planning all day. Probably longer.)
He’s been planning since the night you told him two weeks ago. Before the conversation was even over. You felt safe enough with him to ask for such a private and vulnerable fantasy and that turned him on in a mental way he can’t even explain.
So he starts by teasing you.
He kisses your mouth, slow and sensual. His tongue flicks against yours but never quite for as long as you’d like. And he knows how you like it by this point in the relationship. So you’re well aware he’s teasing you.
His mouth begins to wander to your neck and he laps at the sensitive spot. Your thighs clench in response. You’re soaked now, so wet it’s a little bit embarrassing.
He finally finds your breast with his mouth, taking an aching bud in his mouth and drawing on it. Softly. Gently. Lapping and teasing without the friction you needed to enjoy it.
Your breath came in pants now and you spread your legs to open yourself to encourage him to continue. Because there’s somewhere else that really needs attention.
Instead he turns to the other breast and gives it the same attention. Slower. And softer. Stroking with his tongue until your nipple was painfully tight.
His hand trailed up to cup the breast he wasn’t sucking on. The pad of his thumb made teasing circles and you moaned, arching your back into his mouth.
He chuckled and released the aching bud with a pop. Fingertips swirled the nipple he’d just abandoned, coating it with his saliva. He pinch it just right and your hips jerked.
Arousal was a living breathing thing inside your body now, clawing at your lower belly, turning breath into unsteady pants.
“How are you doing, baby?”
The bastard knew you were dying. Sweat was starting to burst from your pores. Your entire body was hot with need.
“Please, Steve…”
“Mmmhh? What do you need, doll?”
“I need your to touch me.”
“Where?”
“My pussy. I’m so wet for you, please touch me. Get inside of me.”
He purred. This was the moment you realized that you’d created a monster. Because he was getting off on the power play.
(This wasn’t actually when the monster was officially created. No, that would be later when you were done and he got to see your dazed face and tear filled eyes from the magnitude of what he’d drawn your body.)
He let go of the nipple and flattened his palm on your ribs, sliding it down inch by inch until he paused on your low belly.
He toyed with the band of your panties.
“You’re wet for me? Does this needy pussy want my fingers or my mouth?”
“Both!!”
He laughed again. But he went ahead, so it was worth it.
And heaven help you, there were fireworks. The bondage was working wonders for your mental need to be out of control. But Steve took it higher when he forced your legs wide and pinned them to the mattress.
And while spin class workouts did amazing things for your thighs, nothing topped super soldier strength. You were stuck. Legs pushed flat to the bed, hands cuffed to the head board and nothing stopping the extremity turned on man with his head between your legs.
He lied about giving your his mouth and fingers. At first he only used his mouth on your clit, licking around it, touching the tip of his tongue over it in slow flicks, then finally, finally, sucking.
Your body seized at the shock of pleasure, white hot and raw jerking through nerve endings frayed from lack of fulfillment.
He knew what pitch he needed to hear you moan at before he added his fingers.
He knew it because Steve Rogers is a man who studies all the angles of a situation and knows his enemy. Or in this case, knows his lover.
He rubs at your G-spot with the pad of his finger and you scream.
Your head falls back on the pillow and tears start to flow because it’s not enough.
“More, oh, please. Steve, I need-“
He growls. “I know what you need, babydoll. And I’ll give it to you when you’re a good girl and you hold back that orgasm for me. I don’t want you to come yet. Don’t you dare come. If you do I’m going to have to take you over my knee.”
Just the idea of him spanking you almost makes you lose it.
He backs off the intensity. And you start to sob from the brutal frustration of being taken so high and left without release.
His name begins to fall from your lips like a litany, as you start to beg.
“Steve! Please, I want to come!”
“Not yet. Hold back. You be my good girl and hold back. I don’t want to spank that sweet behind until it’s red, but I’ll do it.”
Your scream is gargled by a wave of pleasure that makes your whole body roll as it rips through you from head to toe.
“Let me come, damn it!”
Smack. He’s light and there’s a sting on your right inner thigh.
“Hold. It. Back!”
Screams become sobs. You can’t hold still. You’re fighting the restraints and trying to move but he’s not allowing it. All you can do is clench around his fingers and cry.
“Come for me, baby.”
Release floods you in a second when he gives permission.
The cord of tension snaps. Your muscles lock. The scream you felt building is nowhere to be found. Your voice disappears in the violence of the orgasm. It’s totally silent as your body takes control.
Your channel clamps down around his fingers. The orgasm pulses through your body like being set on fire.
Then you scream. And the muscles that had gone stiff suddenly quiver with release.
If Steve hadn’t held you down through it you’d have been snapping your hips and arching into the sensations, away from them.
He keeps going, pushing you through it until the orgasm is finished.
Then you cry.
Honestly crying, because of the intensity of the release.
You’d expected to get off. You hadn’t guessed that you would get obliterated by the world’s most intense orgasm.
Steve immediately crawls up and takes off the blind fold.
“It’s okay, doll. I’m here. You’re okay, you’re safe. Hold on to me.”
You move, trying to reciprocate when his arms go around you, but they’re still cuffed.
This makes you cry harder.
Steve rips them open, letting you free.
And then you’re in his arms and you can cry properly.
He rolls over with you in his arms, one arm tight around your waist, the other cupping the back of your head.
What shocks you is that he’s not nervous, apologizing, or asking if you’re hurt. He’s petting you and whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
“It’s okay, baby. Let it out. I’m right here, not goin’ anywhere. Hold on to me, sweetheart. I’ve got you.”
The warm hand moving over your back is a delicious comfort. Almost as good as being held to the strong chest by arms thicker than most people’s legs.
When the storm of emotions passes, you blink up as Steve, a bit confused.
His smile is gentle and his eyes are filled with warmth.
“I did my research. You came down from that hard, didn’t you?”
Your answering “yeah,” is slurred.
He kisses your forehead. If you weren’t already boneless from your release, that would have finished you off.
“You were such a good girl for me. I can’t wait to do this again.”
With a tired smile you arch an eyebrow.
“But we can’t be done. I haven’t had you inside of me yet, soldier.”
Steve’s eyes go wide at the remark and you smirk.
“I still need you to fuck me, baby. I need to feel you finish on top of me and collapse into my arms. Please.”
You said please. And if he didn’t get assist a lady who needed his help, what kind of a hero was he?

Purple and Yellow – j.oleksiak
• Jamie Oleksiak goes through heartbreak and challenges along with his daughter but then he meets a woman who seems to catch both their hearts •
a/n: ok this is NOT proof read at all I’m sorry but I knew if I went back and did that I’d end up hating it and not wanting to post it but I know y’all wanted it so here you go!
Word Count: 6.1k
Jamie knew he was going to Seattle, and he’d be lying if he said the proposition didn’t excite him, but once his name was inked on that paper, reality came crashing in. He had to up and move his daughter, she was only three, maybe it wouldn’t be that hard. But who was he kidding, everything is hard with a three year old. And how would he explain that they wouldn’t be able to visit mommy every weekend, just like they did every weekend since. That’s all that plagued his mind as he drove home from the airport, Ivy was waiting for him, but he knew she’d succumb to her sleepiness before he could get there. His parents already texting him with a picture of her half asleep on the couch.
Then, the cars on the other side of the road slammed on their brakes, the sound of tires spinning out made everything come rushing back.
“Is this the father of Ivy Oleksiak?” Jamie didn’t even have a chance to speak before the words came across the phone, “yes, who’s speaking?” Jamie replied, heart rate picking up at the soft sigh the woman let out. “Your daughter and Miss Cora Hadley were brought into Medical City from a car accident scene.” All she said were those words before he was rushing to his feet, “are they ok?” He asked quickly, never getting a pair of shoes on so quickly in his life. “Sir, I’m not–“ “Bullshit! Is my baby and my fiancé ok?” He snapped, based on the way she whimpered, a rather young woman on the other end of the line. “Your daughter will be fine, just some scratches, the car seat did it’s job.” She spoke slowly, her breath hitching. “I think it’s best you get here as quickly as possible.” She spoke carefully, and in that moment Jamie’s heart fell to his feet like an anchor, he could feel his stomach twisting and his eyes burning. He knew what those words meant. Then he thought of Ivy and that snapped him out of his daze, he had to get there, now.
Jamie pulled into his driveway safely this night, parking beside his parents car, a sigh escaping his lips, forcing the terrible memories from two and a half years ago away. He gathered his bags, and lugged them inside, smiling at his family all asleep in the living room. That made him forget that oh so familiar ache in his chest just a little bit more. He put his bags in the corner, those could wait, but right now all he needed was to hold his baby girl. He scooped Ivy up, smiling as she fluttered her eyes open just enough to see him. “Daddy.” She murmured, “hi bug.” He inhaled the scent of her toddler shampoo, his mom always taking care of her hair the best, brushing the detangler through the unruly hair she got from her father. “Sleep with you.” Ivy whined when he started heading for her room, normally he didn’t give in, not wanting her to be dependent on him to sleep, but he needed her tonight too. “Just tonight princess.” He gave in, bringing her to his room with him, where she fell asleep instantly when he placed her on the plush bed.
Jamie laid awake, staring at the ceiling for a little while, thinking of how he would tell Ivy about having to move. “I hope you’re proud of me.” He whispered out, his tears staying pooled in his eyes as he forced himself to calm down. “Sleep daddy.” Ivy complained, nuzzling closer to him. “Hold me.”
“Jamie.” Cora whispered, hoping he was awake despite the late hour, he grunted in response, being a light sleeper ever since he found out Cora was pregnant. “Hold me.” She demanded with a light tone, her back aching and stomach bulging as Ivy kicked around in there. Jamie blindly opened his arms for her, letting her settle into his chest. “Always.” He murmured, already half asleep as she sighed in content.
“Come here baby girl.” Jamie murmured at Ivy, letting her rest her head upon his chest, Ivy was a very cuddly little girl, the second she was comfortable with you, she’d be sitting in your lap and telling you stories and anything to be touching you. It was one of Jamie’s favorite things, especially when he came home from a roadie and all she wanted was to be held by him.
***
“Daddy!” Ivy called, she managed to climb onto the bathroom counter to brush her teeth but now she was too scared to get down, “daddy!” She shrieked again, Jamie’s eyes fluttered open as he quickly took in his surroundings, “daddy, I stuck!” Ivy called, this time sounding annoyed by his lack of response. He threw the blanket off as he knew where she was stuck, this was a common occurrence. He appeared in the bathroom doorway, arms crossed over his chest, “and just what do you think you’re doing?” Jamie asked his daughter as she made grabby hands for him, she grinned brightly at him, “I brushed my teeth!” She answered in a duh tone, she grabbed his face once he scooped her up, kissing the tip of his nose, and he the same to her, “I’m very happy you brushed your teeth, Ivy, but you know you’re not supposed to get on the counter, that’s why we got you a stool, remember?” He explained, for easily the tenth time in the past month. “I know.” She huffed, dramatically pushing her hair back, making Jamie chuckle as he walked down the stairs, hearing his parents talking in the kitchen.
“Well, good morning sleepy heads.” Alison teased as Ivy gasped at the sight of pancakes on the counter, Jamie shook his head with a smile, placing her on the seat beside his dad, “I’ll make you a special plate.” Richard quipped to the little girl, which really just meant drawing a smiley face on it with whip cream. “Thanks mom.” Jamie gave his mom a kiss on the cheek before shuffling around to get his coffee, desperately needing the sleep kicked out of his system. “When are you going to tell her?” Alison asked, taking a small bite of her food, giving her son the side eye when he hesitated. “Today.” He gave in, knowing he absolutely had to start packing now, otherwise it would never be done in time. “So, Ivy, do you have any plans for today?” Alison shifted her attention to her granddaughter, figuring they could take her out to do something so he could get more done. “Gonna go see momma!” She cheered, some syrup smeared around her mouth.
Jamie froze, it was Saturday already, he checked his phone and felt humiliated that he had forgotten his promise to take Ivy to the cemetery. Evidently the panic was written across his face when both his parents stared at him. “Why don’t grandma and I bring you? We haven’t been there in a while.” Richard offered, rubbing Ivy’s back when she looked to Jamie for permission. “I think that would be nice, right baby?” Jamie finally found his voice, and Ivy nodded brightly, anytime she got with her grandparents was cherished. “Daddy coming to?” She asked, tilting her head as he sipped on his coffee, “I’ve got some work to do, alright, I’ll go next time.” He assured her, shooting his dad a thankful look as he quickly changed the subject before she could pester on any further.
“Ivy, I need to talk to you.” Jamie announced, he couldn’t wait any longer, he had to do it and be done. Alison nearly choked on her coffee and Richard looked at his empty plate like it was suddenly the most interesting thing. Ivy nodded, munching away on her pancakes, not understanding the severity of what was about to be said.
Jamie cleared his throat and pulled out the chair beside her, “you know how I had to go away to this new place for work, yeah?” He reminded her, “Seattle.” He said, and she nodded, “Seattle.” She repeated, not entirely perfect but good enough. “I got a job over there.” He spoke, waiting to see what she thought. “Hockey?” She asked, confusion lacing her tone. “Yes, still hockey.” Jamie chuckled softly, “it’s with a new team.” He paused, glancing away for a second, “we have to move there.” He concluded. Ivy nodded slowly, “new house?” She asked, she might be young, but she knew that moving meant not in this house. “Yeah, new house, new city, new people.” Jamie explained, panicking when she went wide eyed, “what about uncle Ro-Ro?” Ivy asked, referring to Miro, she was closest to the young defenseman as she always saw him beside her dad on the ice. The nickname had been dubbed upon him when she was learning to speak and liked to repeat things. “We can visit, baby.” Jamie spoke softly, heart breaking as she began to sniffle. He could practically see the wheels turning in her head, he knew the realization was coming. “But Momma!” She sobbed.
And that completely shattered his heart.
“I know.” He picked her up, feeling her sob into his neck, “momma.” She whimpered, though she didn’t remember her, Jamie made sure to keep her an important part of her life. Ivy didn’t know that she loved going to a gravestone that much until this moment. “Hey, look at me, bug.” Jamie demanded gently, situating her to be in front of him. He sat her on the countertop and stood in front of her, “momma will always be with us, right? Isn’t that what I always say?” He explained to her. Ivy nodded slowly, she was so young but always acting older, trying to wrap her head around this. “Yeah.” She mumbled sheepishly, cheeks red and eyes puffy, she felt shy under the gaze of her grandparents. “It’s alright, daddy’s sad too.” He assured her, lowering his head to be eye level with her. She stared into his eyes, reminding him so much of Cora in that moment, and once again she kissed the tip of his nose. “No sad daddy.” She demanded, drumming her fingers on his cheek. He pecked her forehead, “alright baby.” He agreed, if she could do it, so could he, right?
***
Ivy slept the whole plane ride, which is what Jamie was hoping for as they would be meeting the moving truck at the new house, plenty of things to be done asap.
“Come on Ivy.” Jamie mumbled, carrying her off the plane as she groggily woke up, looking around slightly confused until she remembered what was going on today. “Daddy, Seattle?” She asked, lifting her head from his shoulder, he chuckled, lowering her so she wasn’t so high up on his chest. “Yeah, Seattle baby.” He assured her, her pigtails bouncing as she looked around rapidly. He smiled at her reaction to the airport alone.
“What do you think, Ivy?” Jamie asked, raising his eyebrows as the three year old spun to face him. “Love it!” She squealed, her room was twice as big in this place than her bedroom in Dallas, and Jamie told her she could pick whatever color (within reason) to have her walls painted. Of course she would love it here. Jamie looked around their new-but-empty-house one more time, sighing as he could picture Ivy growing older in this house.
Time to make it a home.
“Hi.” Ivy grinned up at one of the movers as he placed a stack of boxes in her room, Jamie just being outside the door heard her speaking, he raised an eyebrow waiting to hear the guy speak. “Hello.” The young guy spoke sweetly, chuckling at the little girl. “I’m three.” She spoke, “how old are you?” She asked, Jamie held in a snicker as he walked in. “Ivy, leave him alone, bug.” He laughed softly, the guy taking it as his excuse to go get more boxes. “Ugh.” She huffed, flopping down on her bed dramatically, Jamie rolled his eyes, looking around. “What color do you want?” He asked the opinionated little girl, he sat beside her, smiling as she stood next to him, being eye level with him. “Hmm, purple!” She gasped, looking around the currently beige room, Jamie nodded slowly, “light purple.” He countered, knowing she would want to choose the darkest shade. “Fine.” She giggled, “we can go tomorrow, alright? Today we need to focus on finding all your stuff.” He tickled her sides.
***
Ivy was tugging on Jamie’s hand, somehow spotting the paint section quicker than he could. “Slow down!” He laughed heartily, his daughter shooting him a glare as he purposely slowed his feet down. He hoisted Ivy up to see the purple swatches along the top row, she reached for a dark one, just like Jamie knew she would. He sighed, “Ivy, we agreed on light purple, what about this one?” He offered, grabbing a lavender type color, she grunted in disgust, shaking her head dramatically, her blonde curls hitting his face. “Love this one.” She pouted, holding it in front of his face.
Jamie held in a sigh as you walked past him, stopping to look at paint swatches as well. “What about this one?” Jamie compromised, it was darker than he wanted to go, but still light enough to not feel like a dungeon. Ivy’s lip began to quiver, quickly catching both Jamie and the woman’s attention. “Ivy.” Jamie sighed softly, you intervened, “you know, I wanted a dark purple room when I was your age too.” You spoke to Ivy, catching her attention as she lifted her head, Jamie shifting slightly, giving you a smile. “My dad wouldn’t let me do it.” You made a face, getting a giggle out of Ivy, “he was right though, but guess what we compromised?” You mused, holding your hand out for the paint swatches that Jamie had. He handed them over with ease, “we painted one wall, dark, the wall I had my bed on, and the rest we did light.” You explained, Jamie giving Ivy a bright smile when she looked at him like it was the greatest idea ever. “We can do that, Ivy.” He agreed, and you giggled, “glad I could be of help.” You added.
“Thank you,” Jamie paused, waiting for a name. “Y/N.” You told him, smiling at the pair, “and your name is?” You asked, already figuring the little girl's name was Ivy. “Jamie.” He introduced himself. “What are you painting?” Ivy asked boldly, not one to talk much around new people, Jamie set her down so she could look at other colors, amused by her sudden interest. “I’m painting my dining room.” You answered, squatting down to her level, “do you have any color suggestions?” You asked Ivy. Jamie gave you a look that said you really don’t have to entertain her but you just gave him a smile. “Yellow.” Ivy announced, looking at the wall and grabbing actually, a very nice swatch, it was just yellow enough. You tilted your head as you looked at it, imagining it in your space. “That’s a very pretty color, Ivy.” You told her, smiling brightly as she blushed, handing you the color sample. “Thank you, Y/N.” She spoke politely, even though the words didn’t come out perfectly, it was a great attempt. “You’re welcome.” You stood to your full height, shocking Jamie by walking over to the counter to order the paint, no hesitation that a random little girl picked it out.
“You don’t have to-“ Jamie started to say, but you shrugged, giving him a happy smile, “I just got a new place, a fresh start, yellow seems fitting.” You told him. Jamie gave you a lopsided smile, if only you knew he was doing the same. “Daddy, this ones.” Ivy gasped, giving him two swatches, he chuckled at her grammar, squatting down to her level, “you’re sure?” He asked, he knew after all it was just paint, and if it turned out so terrible, they could paint over it but he didn’t want to have to do this twice. “This one looks like momma's dress!” Ivy explained, Jamie looked at the dark purple in his hand, instantly remembering Cora in that dress, Ivy’s favorite picture of her that she kept in her room. Suddenly her color choice made sense, you couldn’t help but eavesdrop, your heart stopping at Jamie’s next words. “Yeah, I think momma would have loved this.”
Was she… dead? You tried to knock the thought from your head, they were so young, but you knew accidents happened. You quickly looked away as Jamie stood back up, “here you go ma’am.” The teenager behind the counter spoke, you took the gallon from him, shooting him a smile. “Have a good day.” You told him, offering Jamie and Ivy a wave. “Will I see you again?” Ivy asked, Jamie nearly had heart failure right there as you stopped and giggled. “Oh I don’t know sweetheart, Seattle is a really big city. But don’t you worry, if I ever see you out and about I’ll be sure to say hello.” You assured her, watching as she got all giddy and slightly hid behind her father again. “Bye.” You told him, biting the inside of your cheek to keep from smiling any wider. “Bye, Y/N.” He mumbled, seeming a little dazed as he made his way up to the counter.
***
It had been nearly a week in the new house, the walls were done, almost everything was unpacked and they were starting to feel a sense of normalcy. Jamie loved the neighborhood they ended up in, a true mix of all different people, yes their house was rather large, but it was still homey. The community was sprawling, having a little bit of everything, stand alone homes, townhomes, even some condos, there were plenty of kids around which made him feel good about his choice as he followed Ivy down the road as she rode her bike. “Slow down, Ivy.” Jamie cautioned as she was getting a good bit ahead of him, she huffed dramatically and slowed down, waiting for him to catch up. She was looking around at the houses, confused as to why they were attached, even though Jamie had explained it to her plenty of times. Ivy gasped so loudly, that you could hear it from your front lawn where you were spray painting a piece of furniture. You glanced over and did a double take.
There was absolutely no way, you refused to believe you were actually seeing this, then you saw Jamie and you were convinced the universe either loved you for letting you see him again, or hated you, as you were in ratty old painting clothes.
“Ivy!” You grinned, laughing when the little girl flew off her bike, letting it fall sideways, making Jamie groan, “hi Y/N!” She squealed running up your lawn. You smiled brightly as she hugged your leg, “Ivy.” Jamie called, giving you an apologetic smile but you shrugged it off. “Did you paint your room?” You asked the little girl as she pulled away, a pink tint to her cheeks, she nodded, her blonde curls bouncing in her ponytail. “Yay, that’s great!” You cheered, Jamie walked up behind her, “hi, Y/N. How are you?” He asked, his daughter leaning back against his legs as you two spoke. “Good, been busy making this place my own.” You laughed, motioning to the small townhome behind you. It was your first solo place, and you absolutely adored it, even if it needed some work. “Yeah, you always forget how much work it is moving into a new place.” He agreed, chuckling softly. “Did you do yellow?” Ivy asked, rocking on her feet. “I did.” You assured her, “would you two like to go in and see it?” You asked, cringing internally as you waited to look up at Jamie. “Sure.” He answered, grabbing his daughter's hand, following you inside.
You led them to the dining room, giggling as Ivy gasped, “so pretty!” She cheered, the yellow paid off, it made the space feel much more happy. “All because of you.” You told her, she asked if she could look at the pictures you had sitting on the entry table and you gave her a quick nod, giving you and Jamie a chance to talk. “Same neighborhood? If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were stalking me.” You teased him lightly, getting a hearty chuckle out of him. “It is quite the coincidence.” He agreed, he felt butterflies in his stomach for the first time since he had met Cora.
It absolutely terrified him.
***
It had been a few weeks since that day, and you’d seen Ivy outside playing with another woman, Jamie not to be seen. You came out to grab your mail as she went riding by, “hi, Y/N!” She called, continuing to pedal away. “Hi, Ivy.” You spoke, you went over and introduced yourself to the girl, Taylor, finding out she was her babysitter. “Jamie must go out pretty often.” You commented to her, she shook her head, “oh no, he never goes anywhere without Ivy aside from work.” Taylor told you, “he plays hockey, I'm surprised you didn’t know that.” Taylor added, smiling as Ivy came up to the two of you. “We should be going, it’s almost dinner time.” Taylor spoke, she couldn’t be older than 20. You gave them both a smile, “yes! You don’t want to miss that.” You chuckled, bidding them a goodbye before going inside and googling Jamie.
What you found shocked you.
Jamie Oleksiak taking personal time to mourn loss of fiancé.
Jamie Oleksiak, will he be able to balance a professional career and a baby?
Will he bounce back from this?
You clicked the first article, bracing yourself as it loaded.
The date was from almost three years ago, you scrolled down and began to read…
Jamie Oleksiak has announced the sudden passing of his fiancé, Cora Hadley. Together they shared a daughter Ivy, who was also involved in the incident, she is expected to make a complete recovery.
A close friend tells us it was a severe car accident.
Our condolences to the family.
You clicked away from the article as tears burned your eyes. That was terrible. You read some of the other articles and only grew mad at how the reporters belittled his pain, only talking of how poorly his game play had been since then. And though you’d never wish that kind of loss on anyone, you know they wouldn’t be writing like that if they had felt it.
***
You and Jamie exchanged numbers, citing that it was for “neighborhood emergencies” you giggled at the thought as he was currently asking you what he should get Cora for the upcoming Christmas.
She’s the pickiest three year old ever, everyone always tells me that.
Well, what does the pickiest three year old ever like to do?
She’s either riding her bike and getting absolutely filthy or she’s inside playing dress up and being a little princess
Princess car?
They make those?!?
Oh, Jamie, I really need to take you shopping 🤦♀️
Tell me when and I’ll be there…
You tell me hot shot, you’re the one that plays hockey for a living.
How did you find out?
Google is a powerful thing… just kidding, Taylor told me.
Of course she did
Saturday afternoon? My parents will be in town and they want to take Ivy out for the day, so it’s a perfect excuse.
You know where I live, see you then!
He started typing, but then the dots went away and you never received another message.
You brushed it off, feeling butterflies in your stomach for the first time in years as you thought of merely shopping with Jamie for Christmas.

“You like him!” Your friend gushed to you as you spoke on the phone while getting ready, “no!” You rushed, only proving her point more. “Y/N, really.” Your friend, Amanda, spoke. “There’s nothing wrong with that, he’s clearly attractive and he’s a dad! He’s not going to be a jerk that just messed around with girls! It’s great.” She rambled, you sighed, pulling your jeans on with a little jump, “his fiancé died, Amanda. He could very well not be over that yet, and I wouldn’t blame him.” You explained, she went silent, “well you left that part out, how was I supposed to know.” She mumbled sheepishly. “It was almost three years ago, their baby was only six months old.” You whispered, cursing when your doorbell rang down the stairs. “Shit, shit, I have to go Amanda!” You rushed, hanging up as soon as she said bye. You adjusted the sweater you had on as you rushed down the stairs, careful not to fall flat on your face. You grabbed your purse as you walked past the counter, yelping as you stumbled and landed on your butt. So close.
“Y/N? Are you alright?” Jamie called, hearing the thud, “yes, yeah, just a second.” You called out, wincing as you stood up, that was definitely going to hurt later. You finally, finally reached the door and unlocked it, pulling it open and giving him a bright smile. “Did you fall?” He asked instantly, bursting into laughter when your face went blank. “We’re not going to talk about that Jamie.” You chastised, stepping onto your little porch to leave with him. “Sorry, sorry.” He chuckled, giving you a once over as you locked the door. “Is Ivy excited to be with your parents today?” You asked him, Jamie laughed under his breath, “so excited, she didn’t even care that I was going out.” He told you as he opened the passenger side door of his truck for you. “Thanks.” You mumbled as you slid in, your heart pounding in your chest. He shut the door and made his way around the truck as you adjusted in the seat.
“So, where to?”
****
Jamie was shocked and grimacing at the price of the princess car that he and you both knew Ivy would love. “Is she the type to give up on new toys quickly?” You asked, tilting your head as you both stared at the display, he shook his head as gave in. He had been leaning against the shelves and as he walked away you noticed his phone had fallen out of his pocket, you picked it up so no one would steal it as you waited for him to come back with a cart, and hopefully someone to help him with the box because it was not something you’d be much help with. His phone began to ring in your hand, the contact flashing across the top said mom, you let it ring, you’d tell him as soon as he came back. As soon as it stopped it was ringing again, you panicked and swiped to answer it, worried that something had happened to Ivy. “Hello?” You spoke into the phone, hearing Ivy wailing in the background. Fuck.
“Who is this?” His mother rushed, “I’m Y/N, Jamie forgot his phone he’s walking around the store– is everything alright?” You asked, cutting straight to the point, “no, we’re going to the emergency room, Ivy fell at the park and I think she broke her arm.” His mother rushed, and thankfully you saw Jamie approaching, “Jamie!” You shouted, rushing over, he furrowed his eyebrows seeing you on his phone.
“It’s your mom.” You rushed, giving it to him and you could see the wheels turning in his head as he listened to her speak over Ivy crying. “Shit, alright I’ll meet you there.” He told her, shooting you an apologetic look. “Go.” You assured him, he shook his head grabbing your hand and pulling you along, he wasn’t going to leave you stranded in a department store. “Sorry, he’ll purchase it another day!” You called to the employee who had a blank look on his face. “Let me talk to Ivy.” Jamie demanded after his mom had said something else, “daddy, it hurts!” Ivy got out between cries as his mother held the phone to her ear. “I know, princess. I’ll be there soon alright? I promise.” He assured her, finally releasing your hand as he realized he’d been holding it this whole time.
He managed to get off the phone so he could drive to the hospital, repeatedly apologizing for you being stuck with him and that this happened. “I was going to take you to lunch and ugh I’m just sorry.” You raised an eyebrow at his ramblings as you guys got stuck at a red light less than a mile from the hospital. “Jamie, stop apologizing. She’s your daughter, she always comes first, that’s how it’s supposed to be.” You soothed him, he glanced over at you, nodding softly, “reschedule the lunch?” He asked, despite the panic in his head, he still wanted to make sure you saw that he was interested in you.
“Yeah, we can reschedule, let’s just go see your baby.” You leaned over the center console, kissing his cheek as the light changed, doing a little happy dance in your head at how he blushed deeply at your actions.
“Family only.” The nurse remarked as you were about to follow Jamie to the room Ivy was in. He gave her an incredulous look, “it’s fine, go.” You assured him, pulling away from him to stay in the waiting room. He hesitated but went along, disappearing behind the doors as you picked a seat in the corner, making sure you had a sight line to the doors he went through. Over an hour went by as you sat there, scrolling through your phone, not hearing from Jamie, which you assumed was because he was being bombarded with questions of the girl who answered his phone, while also dealing with Ivy who was not going to enjoy the process of getting a cast.
Your phone chimed with a text just as you had finally decided to get off of it,
Finishing up now, sorry if my parents are a lot
You chuckled at the message, making sure you had all your items, including the little stuffy you’d bought at the hospital gift shop during your time sitting here. You stood up as you saw them walking out, Ivy draped over Jamie’s chest, half asleep with her head on his shoulder. “Y/N, it’s so nice to meet you.” His mom spoke, offering her hand, you repeated the sentiment, as well as with his dad. “Ivy.” You whispered, placing a hand on her back, holding the small stuffed animal in your hand, “I got you a little gift for being such a big brave girl.” You mumbled, she shifted to look at you with her puffy eyes, and pout settled deep on her lips, “thanks.” She whispered, taking it and holding it close to her chest, she kept her eyes on you as you walked behind Jamie, keeping up a conversation with his parents. And he was right, they were kind of a lot, but you pushed through, smiling when Ivy finally fell asleep in the car.
You sat in the back with Ivy, Jamie insisting you didn’t have to but you wanted to. “She handled it pretty well.” Jamie commented as he glanced back to see her asleep with her hand in yours. “She’s a tough little thing.” You agreed, glancing over at him, he gave you a heartwarming smile. “Thanks for coming with me today, I know it didn’t go to plan, but it was nice, you know… before she broke her arm.” He trailed off, pulling into your driveway to drop you off. You carefully pulled your hand from Ivy’s, she didn’t budge as she was exhausted from today.
Jamie got out to say goodbye, surprising you with a quick kiss to the cheek and a promise of that lunch date.
***
“Did some research?” You asked teasingly as Jamie took you to your favorite restaurant, you gave him a sideways glance as he parked the truck, “I may have had some assistance.” He shrugged, making you realize that’s why Ivy was grilling you the other day, when you had offered to watch her since Taylor was unavailable. “You two are trouble.” You quipped, watching him slip out wordlessly before opening your door for you. “But I’m a gentleman.” He reminded you, “a very good one at that.” You agreed, steadying yourself with his shoulders when you hoped down. “I’m going to kiss you now.” He declared, had you not wanted to kiss him so badly you would have teased him for the nervousness in his voice, but you simply looped your arms around his neck and let him sweep you off your feet with a wonderful first kiss.
The first of many.
***
Two months, and many, many, sneaky dates and stolen kisses later…
You were over at Jamie’s house, having dinner with him and Ivy, you and Jamie had gone out here and there, but most of your time was spent together with Ivy, and that’s what told him that you were the girl he needed to hang on to. Jamie wanted to take tonight to explain to Ivy that you two were dating, but he was scared, petrified even, that she would become upset and confused. You kept telling him nothing had to be done yet if he wasn’t ready, but he was, he swore he was.
“What’s your favorite color?” You asked Ivy, dinner was long gone and you were playing a game of twenty questions, she wasn’t entirely aware of that but she was having fun nonetheless. “Purple! Like my mommas.” She declared, you gave her a smile, glancing over at Jamie to see how he handled it. Many conversations had happened between you two about the loss of Cora, you never wanted to rush him, and as he only gave Ivy a proud smile, you could tell he was truly ready to start the next chapter of his life again. You liked to think Cora was proud of him, for choosing you to be in their life.
“What’s yours?” Ivy countered back, giving you an inquisitive look, the closer she got to age four, the more like Jamie she seemed, and it always made you chuckle. “Yellow.” You told her, watching as she grinned, Jamie winked at you as you turned sheepish under their gaze. “Because of me?” Ivy gasped. “Yes, because of you.” You giggled, welcoming her hug when she bounced over to you. “Ivy, do you know what it means when people are dating?” Jamie asked his daughter as she stayed seated on your lap, she rested her elbows on the table, holding her head in her hands. “No but you said I’m not allowed to do that.” She spoke in a serious tone, sending you into a hysterical fit of laughter, not expecting her to be so blunt. Jamie tried not to but he joined you with a deep laugh, tipping his head back as Ivy grew impatient. “Ok, besides that.” Jamie cleared his throat, “when I say I’m dating someone that means that I really really like them and I want them to be part of our life.” He explained as best he could, you smiled from behind her at his words. Encouraging him to go on.
“Y/N and I are dating.” He spoke officially, you both held your breath as you waited for her reaction, she turned and looked at you, and then back to her dad. “You love her!” Ivy grinned, sending Jamie wide eyed and you into a wide smile as he blushed, “you love my daddy!” Ivy gasped turning to you, now he was the one grinning as you opened and closed your mouth trying to find the words to say. You gave her a nod, “well, it’s a bit more complicated than that when you’re our age, but yes.” You agreed with her, Jamie grabbed your hand from across the table, giving it a squeeze as Ivy climbed off your lap and started dancing around.
This had gone so much better than he had hoped.
When he was tucking her in that night while you were waiting for him on the couch, she said a few words that made him one hundred percent sure that everything was going the way it should, and that Cora even played a hand in this. “Can I have two favorite colors daddy?” Ivy asked, looking up at him sleepily as he pulled the blanket up her body, she was clinging to the stuffy you’d bought her. “Of course, bug.” He assured her, thinking that was that, but as he kissed her forehead she said, “purple and yellow are my favorites.” By the time he pulled his head back, her eyes were shut and her breathing was evening out. “Yeah, I think those are my favorites too.” He whispered.

“when you pass out at practice”
Pairing: tsukishima x reader ; kyotani x reader ; aone x reader Genre: comfort-fluff ; drabbles & headcanons Summary: the reader hasn’t been taking care of herself which leads to her passing out at practice Word Count: 2295 Warnings: fainting, or passing out, from sleep deprivation/not eating/heat exhaustion, some explicit language because i’m an adult A/N: thanks for the fun request! i took a little bit of artistic liberties with the scenario to keep it from being so repetitive so I hope you don’t mind! -Luna
it was rare that you had a beautiful sunny day on a weekend with no chores to attend to or work to complete
so when your boyfriend Tsukishima texted you and asked you to come join him for casual volleyball practice outside, you decided to take him up on that opportunity
however, not even a cap and some cold water could stave off heat exhaustion
Despite it being 95°F and so humid that the air feels thick when you breathe, it is a beautiful day outside. The sky is completely clear of clouds; the sun is shining directly on you as you, your boyfriend, and Yamaguchi head out to practice at the open field nearby Karasuno. The change of scenery was refreshing and even with it feeling just as hot as it usually does inside the school gym, the occasional breeze and lack of sweaty stench was a huge welcomed change.
There’s very little shade provided by the trees, but you lay out a small blanket under the nearest one anyway. You become the bag and bottle keeper when Tsukishima and Yamaguchi hand you their items, your boyfriend dropping it haphazardly onto the blanket while Yamaguchi delicately places it down with a ‘thank you.’
You usually don’t get to see Tsukishima practice, seeing as his normal practices run until the dead of night, so it was fun watching them set and serve the ball back and forth. When the occasional ball lands by your feet, you get the chance to enjoy setting it back to them, even if it often falls short or misses the target completely.
“Thank god you’re not on our team,” Tsukishima teases, as he watches the ball you set fall 6 feet away from him.
“Yeah, because I’d kick your ass. I know I’m a threat, and you should fear me,” you retort sarcastically. Before he turns away to retrieve the ball, you see him crack a small smile at your tomfoolery.
However, after a few hours of getting up and down repeatedly to send the balls back under the beating sun, your head starts to pound. Your body is radiating so much heat it makes you want to remove your skin. You know it’s just a matter of time before you start feeling physically ill, as well. You loosen your cap and drink some cold water in hopes that it will relieve some of the tension, but you just feel the same.
You decide to lay down on the blanket, cap laid over your face to block out the sun. You don’t know if you passed out or if you simply tuned out everything around you for a bit, but you jump when you suddenly feel something wet and cold touching your neck.
You reach up to swat it away, thinking it was a bug when you hear Tsukishima’s voice. “Stop that. I’m trying to help you, dummy.”
Relief washed over you to know that it wasn’t a beetle crawling up your neck but instead your stoic boyfriend pressing his plastic water bottle there to cool you down.
“Yamaguchi thought you died,” he brought up suddenly. “He actually ran to the store to get some more water after I told him to stop overreacting.”
You chuckle, picturing Yamaguchi already mourning over your body just because you were lying down with a cap over your face. “It’s sweet that he cares though, in his own weird way.”
Suddenly, the sky and Tsukishima’s crouching figure are in full view as he flicks the hat off of your face, feeling annoyed that you praised his friend and not him. “What do you think I’m doing, huh?”
“Aww, do you want me to tell you how you’re the bestest, sweetest, most handsome boyfriend I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing, and that I’m so grateful that you’ve graced me with your help?” you whine in a sarcastic tone, making grabby hands at the tall blond hovering over you.
He slaps your hands away, knowing that if you get your hands on him, you’d squeeze his cheeks and ruffle his hair like you always do. “Well, that’s the last time I ever take care of you.”
You know he doesn’t mean it and that, if you were ever in some form of peril, he would casually stroll rush to your rescue to make sure you’re okay. You hope that when you look up at him he can see how much you appreciate his efforts.
“Thank you, Kei,” you say sincerely.
“Yeah, whatever.” He sounds dismissive, but you can tell by the scrunched eyebrows and soft look in his eyes as he gazes down at you how much he worries about your well-being, and you’re genuinely grateful to have him be your unofficial nurse.
you heard from some classmates that your math teacher was seen printing out math quizzes
*cue studious panic*
you decided to completely skip lunch and use that time in the library to hit the books hard
your stomach was rumbling, your head was hurting, and your vision would become spotty if you stood up too quickly
you completed your quiz at the end of the day, but by then, you were starving and ready to get something to eat
in your panic, you forgot that you were supposed to meet kyotani after school so you could force him to go to practice that day (or else Iwaizumi would have your ass)
he heard your stomach make monstrous noises and when you let him know you hadn’t eaten, he looked more upset than usual to see you not taking care of yourself
“Let’s skip practice and get some food,” he suggests.
“What? So you can skip out on one of the few practices you go to? Absolutely not!” you reprimand.
“But you need to eat.”
“Look at you being a sweet boyfriend who cares,” you tease, watching him roll his eyes like he’s annoyed, but the pink hue dusting his cheeks says otherwise. “I’ll be fine. I should have an extra granola bar in my bag somewhere.”
"Whatever, if you say so." He turns his body diagonally, a gesture you know means 'walk with me.' Kyotani has never been keen on PDA, but one thing you have noticed is that he prefers for you to walk directly by his side at all times. To others, it may look like he’s uninterested in you, but you can tell by how often his arm brushes yours that it’s his way of showing affection.
You stroll across campus together, enjoying a quiet conversation with Kyotani about your day thus far. It doesn’t take long for you to reach the gym entrance, already hearing the balls slamming against the ground inside. You both switch out your shoes before walking in, him going to join his teammates and you finding a seat on the sidelines, seeing Iwaizumi give you a thumbs up for your job well done.
You take a moment to search through your bag for that granola bar you mentioned earlier. After sifting through books, loose notes, and forgotten pencils and pens, you realize you have no snack to tide you over until the end of practice.
The market is just down the road. I could probably go pick something up and be back quickly.
You wave Iwaizumi over, figuring you’ll tell him your plans while Kyotani is distracted so he won’t follow you out. You see his back turned to you as Oikawa speaks to the rest of the team, gesturing wildly with a volleyball in hand.
As Iwaizumi gets closer, you stand up and immediately begin to sway. Your vision grows spotted, and your head feels like it’s floating.
You hear Kyotani yell out your name before everything goes black.
When you wake up, the lights are beaming overhead as you lay in some sort of bed. Once you’re coherent enough, you sit up, looking around to see that you’re in the school nurse’s office. You pick up your hand to hold your still aching head when you notice a very angry Kyotani attached to it, already glaring at you.
Your mouth opens and closes repeatedly, not quite knowing what to say after you just passed out in the middle of practice.
"I told you that we should've gotten something to eat," he starts, growling out each word.
You shrink into yourself, feeling embarrassed that you've upset him and couldn’t even take care of yourself properly. "I'm sorry, Kentaro.”
He notices you plucking the lint off your shirt to avoid direct eye contact with him. His eyes close as he collects himself, realizing that now’s not the time to lecture you for something you couldn’t have predicted.
He sighs, standing up slightly to lean over your slumped figure, laying a kiss on your temple. He mumbles a quiet apology against your skin, feeling bad for snapping at you when he should’ve been more kind. He’s working on that, slowly but surely.
“Let’s go get something to eat,” he says, holding your hand while you stand slowly from the bed. You wobble slightly, Kyotani quickly wrapping his arm around your waist to stabilize you. You give him a nod when you’re firmly on your two feet.
“From now on, if you’re hungry, tell me.”
You agreed reluctantly, not exactly wanting him to worry so much but knowing he wouldn’t let you leave without your compliance.
From then on, he always makes sure to check on you to check if you've eaten or if you need one of the many granola bars he now carries, and while sometimes it's annoying to have him acting like a mother hen, it's also very heartwarming to know that he cares about you that much. Not to mention, he’s saved your ass many times when you have to study overtime for another intense math quiz.
the end of the semester was coming to a close and you were scrambling to get everything done on time
there weren't enough hours in the day to study for finals, finish projects, complete homework, and also take care of your human needs, like eating and sleeping
so, you just didn't sleep one night, opting to stay up with some caffeine to power through all of your work
at the beginning of the next day, you felt energetic and peppy, but as it went on, the sluggish feeling started to settle in
by the end, you were feeling absolutely exhausted and ready to drop at any moment
however, you still wanted to accompany Aone to practice that day, as it was your favorite part of your week
aone initially insisted that you head home without him, but he realized it might be safer to go with him after practice, just in case you fell asleep on the train
It feels like it takes ages, but eventually, practice begins to wind down, soreness seeping into each and every team member’s muscles after hours on their feet. A few of them are still practicing quick attacks with each other, but Aone is one more move away from passing out from exhaustion.
He walks over to you sitting on the sidelines, watching you take longer and longer between each blink. Yet, when he gets close enough, you still manage to give him a small smile that kicks his heart into overdrive, his face, no doubt, resembling a tomato because of the gesture.
He sits on the creaky folding chair beside you, taking gulps of his water to try to cool himself down. He almost chokes when he feels your head press up against his shoulder, hand resting on his forearm gently. Sitting still as a rock, he tries to take his mind off his cute partner cuddling up next to him.
"We should stop somewhere and pick up some food on the way to the train,” he suggests, doing his best to ignore the warmth filling his cheeks. “Do you want anything specific?"
You're silent beside him. At first, he thinks you're contemplating what to eat, seeing as you're very particular with your cravings. But when two minutes pass, and there's not even a peep from you, he looks down carefully to find you knocked out against his shoulder, face squished uncomfortably and mouth parting with each deep breath you take.
Aone never pictured this happening to him –mostly because he didn't think he'd ever have a partner who'd feel comfortable enough around him– so he didn't quite know where to go from here. He could wake you up to at least bring you home, but if this is the first time you've slept in over 24 hours, he didn't want to deprive you of more necessary sleep.
The only way Aone can think of bringing you home is to carry you all the way to the train station and... Well, that's as far as he manages to get, but future Aone will figure the rest out.
He asks Futakuchi to gather his things for him because he doesn't want to risk waking you. After some light teasing, he hands Aone his packed duffle and helps put on his jacket with minimal stirring from you.
Aone thanks his friend with a nod before turning to you and slipping his arms under you, one beneath your knees and the other behind your back. He freezes when you begin shifting around, but relaxes once you settle into him.
Aone waves at his team on the way out, with what movement he is allowed, and begins his trek to the train station nearby.
His arms are aching after hours of practice, but it doesn’t matter, because you nuzzling into his neck with an adorable sigh gives him enough strength to carry you halfway across the country if he needs to.

Newborn | Sakusa, Osamu, Bokuto
Pairings: Sakusa X Reader (female) and Osamu X Reader (female), and Bokuto X Reader (female)
Genre: baby fever, dad haikyuu wow fluff love
Author’s Note: Babies are adorable and haikyuu as dads is just- 😍
Warnings/ Notes: All post time skip! and their children are less than 1 year old, infancy
Newborn | Ushijima, Iwaizumi, Atsumu
Sakusa:
The lights in your hospital room were dim with a single lamp on beside Sakusa as you rest soundly having given birth two days ago
He rocked slowly back and forth in the rocking chair, holding his baby girl for the second time ever
He carefully cradled her in his arms, fitting perfectly with her head resting in the crook of his elbow, her body wrapped in a pink blanket and a little beanie covering her slight bunch of dark hair that matched his own
She yawned, her mouth stretching, eyes squeezed shut as she did this, making Sakusa let out a breath
“You tired, hm?” He slowly ceased his rocking to a slow stop as she inhaled, taking in a few deep breaths before she let out a little squeak of a sneeze
For the first time in Sakusa’s life, after fearing germs so much, the countless times he scrubbed his body, room, house, everything he owned or touched, he wasn’t fazed at all seeing his little girl sneeze in his hold
“Bless you,” he smiled as he continued rocking
Aside from you, he had never held something so precious and dear to him in his life and now here she was in his life, a little human that the two of you brought into this world
She was a little treasure he had in his life he didnt even realize he needed
But now he knew
“I can’t wait to show you your clean room that I was able to set up for you, my sweet,” he hummed as he brought her closer, pressing a kiss to the edge of her beanie
“I won’t let you ever get sick,” he promised, already thinking of making a book so he could read and educate her on how to stay clean
As the final words left his lips, the tiny infant’s eyes opened, the first thing she saw was her father
Her tiny body moved in the wrapped blanket, making her look like a little burrito. He loosened the blanket, letting her little arms and legs free
She reached her hands covered with the hospital provided booties, reaching for the hand of her father, little gurgling sounds coming from her
“Shh, mommy’s sleeping,” he shushed her seeing you stir in your sleep, rocking her once again in the chair
Their gazes never left each other as she looked up to him with a unreadable look but he looked at her like she was something so precious, he didn’t want the world to break her
“You’re so small,” he breathed, holding her even closer, letting her rest her head on his chest in the reclined seat of the rocking chair he kept in this position with his feet
“How cute,” a warm heat spreading in his chest
Osamu:
“Let’s go wake daddy, okay?” You held your son above your head in your hold as he erupted into a small fit of giggles, his eyes drawing into thin lines as he waved his arms in the air
You bounced with every step holding your son on your waist, your sons hands clamped over his mouth, the smile never leaving his little face as the two of you made your way upstairs
The door creaked open slowly as you nudged it open with your foot
Osamu laid on his stomach, his upper body bare on the bed, still fast asleep with the blanket draped over half his body. His arms rest beneath the pillow half his face was smudged in
You sat on the edge of the bed on Osamu’s side, pointing to your asleep husband to your son
“S/N, go wake daddy,” you encouraged in a hushed voice as you set him down on the bed. “Go wake daddy,” you smiled and gave a reassuring nod as your son looked back to you
He crawled wobbly on the bed toward his sleeping father with determination, his little, dark gray eyes locked on his father’s sleeping face
As he got closer, he began to babble. He leaned into the pillows and raised his little hands, patting his father’s cheek and nose, letting out incoherent sounds you could only imagine would be him telling Osamu to wake up
Osamu’s back rose as he took in a deep breath, his groggy eyes slowly cracking open to meet his son’s face inches away from him
Your son’s babbling ceased but his ministrations didn’t
He continued to pat Osamu’s face and nose, booping it with his tiny fingers
“Alright, buddy, I’m awake,” he smiled and hummed, turning to his back so he could lift his son, sitting him on his chest
Your son just stared at Osamu wide eyed, looking at how much bigger Osamu’s hand was from his own as Osamu half his hand, lightly moving it side to side as he blinked away the final bits of sleep
“He really looks like you,” Osamu spoke, his voice deep with sleep as you laid down at his side, your hand draping over his abdomen behind your son’s body sitting on him
“I really think he looks like you,” you kissed his cheek, the hand of his arm you laid on slowly rubbing your shoulder. “His hair’s pretty dark like ours but he has you gray eyes.”
“Hmmmmm…” Osamu hummed as he just took in the moment, letting this reality imprint in his memory forever
This was his family: you two were his everything
Bokuto:
“I’m home!” You called into the house, Bokuto and your son nowhere to be seen
You slipped out of your shoes, feet aching despite wearing flats all day but still nonetheless sore
All you wanted as soon as you left was to come right back home to your boys yet there were out of sight and it made you wonder if they went out
As you pulled out your phone to call Bokuto, your train of thought was interrupted when you heard laughter coming from upstairs
You followed the sound upstairs, seeing light coming from your son’s nursery
With the door opened, you found them
Bokuto and your son laid on the rug in the room, the room brightly lit from the lamps being on
Your older child, Bokuto, put the handle of a toy maraca in his mouth before he shot it up into the air from his mouth, catching it before it could hit either of them or the floor
Your son loved this- he erupted into a fit of laughter and giggles as he squirmed on the floor, holding his feet, clapping his hands, moving all sorts of ways, their smiles and gazes never leaving each other
It was safe to say your son got the happy virus from his father, the two already very similar and you could tell his childhood was going to be full of memories and adventures with Bokuto as his dad
And you couldn’t have asked for anyone else to take his spot beside you for the rest of your life
“S/N, mommy’s home!” Bokuto sat himself up and swiped his son off the floor, his hand holding his stomach as he moved him around as he made his way to you, making airplane noises as your son giggled more, his hands reaching for you
He made babbling noises as Bokuto handed him to you, his small hands clinging to your blazer collar
“Hey, how was work?” Bokuto’s hand found its place on the small of your back as he leaned in, the two of you pecking your lips together
“It was tiring but seeing the two o you recharged me,” you smiled. “I missed you so much today,” you spoke in a baby voice as you carefully dipped forward, peppering little kisses all over your son’s face as you stood straight up
“Hey!” Bokuto playfully pouted
“And I missed you too,” you spoke in the same baby voice, getting on your tippy toes as he leaned down a little so you could pepper his cheek with kisses as well

Ateez Seonghwa Imagine: when you're sexually frustrated.
Genre: angst, smut, arranged marriage au, mafia au (but there's no violence or anything, just mentions of being from a mafia background)
Pairing: Seonghwa x reader (fem)
Word count: 2166
As a mafia princess, you knew your father was going to marry you off to some mafia boss. He had it planned ever since he found out your mother would be having a girl. He made sure you studied and trained properly in all aspects of the mafia world, so that you could marry someone as powerful as him.
However, you weren't expecting your father to marry you off to a man who was so cold, and emotionless. Sure, Park Seonghwa was definitely the most handsome man you've ever seen, and yes, his mafia was powerful and he was extremely rich, but you just didn't want to be with a man like that: a man who doesn't even smile at you, let alone look at you.
You did try to talk to Seonghwa and bond a little, but he just never cared; he only bothered to talk to you whenever you had to accompany him to mafia business events.
After being married to Park Seonghwa for nearly three months, you were starting to have enough of your husband's cold, ignorant attitude towards you; you just had to decide what to do about it.
You sat in the living room, blankly staring ahead of you until you heard movement in the kitchen. You saw Seonghwa, clad in only his sweatpants, getting a glass of cranberry juice. He leaned against the kitchen counter, facing your direction while he drank his juice. Your eyes roamed all over his bare chest and abdomen. You noticed how low his sweatpants were hanging on his hips. You couldn't stop your mind from creating all sorts of dirty scenarios. It didn't help that you were feeling extremely sexually frustrated these days; your vibrator and fingers just weren't enough.
You watched Seonghwa walk away to his room, gently closing the door behind him. You took a deep breath before getting off the couch, making your way to his room.
You entered without knocking, much to his surprise. You climbed onto his bed, immediately straddling his lap. You didn't know where you got that much confidence from, but you didn't really care about that at the moment. Seonghwa looked up at you with an eyebrow raised.
"Park Seonghwa, if you don't do something to me now, I fucking swear I'll go to another man."
Seonghwa smirked, making your heart race. "Then go to another man." You stared at him, wondering if he's serious or not. "Aren't you gonna go?" he asked.
You got off of him, annoyed by your own husband being so unbothered even though you literally offered your body to him. You went to your room, stripping yourself out of your pajamas, changing into a tight black dress that fell mid-thigh and showed off your curves and your cleavage. You washed your face and combed your hair into a high ponytail and just applied some eyeliner and lipstick. You sprayed your favorite perfume on yourself, put on a pair of black heels, and grabbed a bag to match your outfit.
"Where are you going?" Seonghwa asked when he heard you open the front door.
You rolled your eyes. "To get dicked down by another man, obviously," you said before closing the door, leaving Seonghwa stunned. He was only teasing you that time and didn't expect you to actually go to another man. Once he got over the shock, he ran outside, only to find your car leaving the premises of the mansion.
"Fuck!" he said, running inside to call you. When you didn't pick up, he called Yeosang and put his phone on speaker while he changed his clothes.
"What do you want? It's ten in the night," Yeosang answered.
"Track Y/N's location fast," Seonghwa replied, zipping his pants.
"Why?"
"I'll tell you later. Hurry up," he said, grabbing his leather jacket.
There was silence on Yeosang's end for a minute. "Hyung, she's moving towards Gangnam."
"Okay, text me her location as soon as she stops," Seonghwa said before hanging up. He quickly wore his shoes before running to his car.
-
Seonghwa drove a little over the usual speed limit, cursing every red signal light. He tried to call you multiple times, but you didn't answer. He kept checking his phone, waiting for Yeosang's message.
After what felt like hours, he finally got Yeosang's message. "She's at Yunho and Mingi's club."
Seonghwa was a little relieved by that, since Yunho and Mingi were his close friends; he wouldn't run into any enemies there. Plus, Mingi and Yunho were usually always at their club, so it would be easy to get help to find you in that crowded place.
When Seonghwa got there, he immediately ran up to the VIP area where Yunho and Mingi were. He looked down through the glass walls, trying to find you in the crowd.
"Woah, bro, what's up with you?" Mingi asked.
"Who are you searching for?" Yunho questioned.
"Y/N," Seonghwa answered, eyes searching for you, stunning Yunho and Mingi; they all knew how your relationship was.
"Y/N? How come you—"
"Found her!" Seonghwa yelled before running back down to get to you, leaving Yunho and Mingi dumbfounded.
You were dancing all by yourself on the crowded dance floor before you moved to the bar to get yourself another drink. "Two shots of vodka, please."
"I'll pay for her drink," you heard someone say from behind you. You turned to see a tall man with a lean build, looking down at you with a smirk. He was certainly very handsome; you only hoped he wasn't some idiot.
"Thank you," you said sweetly. He sat beside you, ordering himself a drink as well. "So beautiful, what's your name?" he asked while you took a shot of vodka. You were about to grab the next shot and answer him, but you felt someone grab your wrist.
Seonghwa took the shot glass from you and placed it on the table. "We're going home," he stated in a stern tone. You were about to protest, but he was already dragging you outside to his car. You were quite surprised that Seonghwa was here, taking you back home; you really thought he didn't give a shit about you... looks like you're wrong.
"But my car is here!" you said, getting into the passenger seat of Seonghwa's car.
"Mingi will drop it off," he stated, getting into the driver's seat and starting his car.
You sighed in frustration while Seonghwa drove fast. "You're so annoying," you murmured, but he heard you.
"I didn't do shit."
"You ruined my chance of finally getting fucked!" you said while you removed your heels, massaging your aching feet.
Seonghwa rolled his eyes, mentally praising all the signal lights for being green; he wanted to get home fast. "You don't need another man for that."
You snorted. "Yeah, cause my husband is sure as hell making me feel good," you muttered sarcastically, looking out the window, realizing you were almost home. Seonghwa didn't say anything for the rest of the drive.
As soon as you got home, you ran to your room. You went to the bathroom, taking your makeup and clothes off, leaving yourself only in your lacy red thong. You brushed your teeth and washed your face, dabbing it dry with a towel. When you moved the towel away, you found Seonghwa leaning against the bathroom door, dressed in only his sweatpants again, staring at you through the mirror.
Seonghwa's eyes roamed all over your body. You held your towel to your naked chest, covering yourself. "What are you doing here?" you asked, cheeks turning pink at the fact that Seonghwa saw you with just your thong on.
He moved to stand right in front of you, trapping you in between the sink and his body. "Seonghwa, what are you doing?" you murmured, trying not to glance at his bare chest.
He smirked, moving his face closer to yours. "Giving my sexually frustrated wife what she wants," he said, brushing his lips against yours. "Only if she still wants it." He pulled away, giving you a small smile that made your heart race. You wanted to ask him what suddenly came over him, but you wrapped your arms around his neck instead, pulling him down to kiss you; like he said, you were sexually frustrated and you really just needed a good release.
Seonghwa kissed you back eagerly, hands moving to your bare waist before moving down to your hips. He broke the kiss, picking you up and placing you on the bathroom counter before continuing his previous actions. You gently bit his lip, pulling it little, making Seonghwa smile against your lips. He slid his tongue into your mouth, while he pulled your body closer to his. Without breaking the kiss, he lifted you off the counter and moved towards your bed. He gently placed you on your back, hovering above you. His lips moved to your neck, kissing around the area before sucking on a particular spot, marking you, making you moan.
Once Seonghwa was satisfied with the mark he left on you, he moved his hand to your thong. "Can I?" he asked for permission.
"Yes, please." He pulled the material down, sliding it off your legs.
"Fuck, you're so pretty," he murmured. His fingers ran along your slit, collecting the wetness there. "So wet for me," he said in a low tone, rubbing your wetness over your clit. His fingers applied pressure to your clit while moving circularly. He played with your clit for a while before moving his fingers down to your hole. He pushed two fingers in at once, making you arch your back. He moved his fingers at a fast pace, loving the way you clenched around them. You moaned out, eyes closing at how good it felt. But you wanted more.
"Seonghwa, please," you whimpered.
"Please what, baby?"
"I want you now. I want your cock inside of me, please. Fuck, please." Seonghwa felt himself grow even harder at the way you begged for him. He pulled his fingers out, sucking them clean, humming in delight due to your sweet taste.
Seonghwa took his sweatpants and briefs off before he sat against the cushioned headboard of your bed, pumping his cock a few times. "Come here," he ordered, making you straddle his lap. "Are you on the pill?" You shook your head. "Okay. I don't have condoms on me. Are you fine with me pulling out?" You nodded and he ran his thumb along your bottom lip. "Use your words, baby."
"Yes, I'm okay with it."
Seonghwa smiled, pulling you into a quick kiss before he helped you sink down completely on his length. "Fuck, so tight," he groaned. You whimpered at the stretch, waiting for a moment to get used to his large size. He slightly propped his knees up so that the position was more comfortable for you. Seonghwa kissed your forehead. "Take your time, babe."
After a moment, you placed your hands on his shoulder, moving yourself on his length. Seonghwa gripped your ass, helping you move on him slowly at first, before increasing the pace. You threw your head back, leaning against his propped knees, moaning his name while he slammed you onto his cock. Seonghwa lowered his face to your boobs, taking one of your nipples in his mouth, gently sucking on it while he rolled the other one.
Seonghwa kissed around your collarbones before making you get off his length to change positions: you were in the same position, expect now you were facing away from him. Your back was pressed against his chest and he entered you again. Seonghwa pushed your hair to one side before he began to kiss your neck while you moved on him. One of his hands squeezed your boob while the other played with your clit, rubbing it up and down and circularly, giving it a light squeeze. "I'm c-close," you moaned out, feeling the knot tighten in your lower abdomen, and he moved his fingers faster on your clit. Your legs began to shake, and you yelled out Seonghwa's name when you reached your blissful high. You quickly got off Seonghwa and pumped his length with your hand. You were about to take his length in your mouth, but he came, shooting his load onto his inner thighs.
Seonghwa closed his eyes, trying to calm his heavy breathing. You collapsed next to him, and he wrapped his arms around your waist, placing a kiss onto your forehead. "How do you feel?"
"Amazing," you answered honestly. "Thank you so much."
He chuckled. "I'm your husband, Y/N, you don't have to thank me."
You narrowed your eyes at him. "You were the one who told me to go to another man."
"I was kidding, I didn't expect you to actually leave," he said. "I ran after you, but you had already left." Seonghwa pulled you into a soft and slow kiss. "You're mine, Y/N. You have no idea how angry I was to see you with another man."
"Maybe I should piss you off often," you mumbled, running a hand through his messy hair.
"Try, baby, I dare you," Seonghwa challenged, cupping your cheek with one hand, staring into your eyes. "Next time, I won't be as nice as I was today."
You smirked. "I'm looking forward to that."

This is part six of a several part story revolving around smut. **Minors DNI**
1.8k words
He spoke, the words making you shiver more than his tongue now licking a long stripe up your pussy. "We've got fifteen minutes. I'll only need seven." Every little sound echoed and bounced off the mirror-lined walls, shaky sighs and mewls seeming much louder than they were. One of your hands covered your nose and mouth tightly when you felt Toji flick his tongue over your already sensitive clit, trying to repress the noises coming out of you. He didn't seem to appreciate that, if the way he sucked on the delicate nub was any indication. "T-Toji, please..." You whispered from behind your hand, watching his thick fingers trace the inside of your thigh. His darkened green eyes shot up, holding prolonged eye contact as his fingers grazed your convulsing cunt. "You know better, brat. Who do you think you're talking to?" He quickly went back to his ministrations, mouth working over your clit with fervor. His finger entered you without warning, sliding in with ease. Realizing this, Toji smirked, detaching from you once more as he slid in a second finger. "Look how wet you are already, I could bend you over right now and fuck you senseless." He scissored his fingers inside you as he spoke. "Bet you were thinkin' about this all night." Part of you knew that mischievous glint in his eyes was telling you he would, but it seemed like he had other plans. A yelp came from your throat at the sudden assault on your clit, fingers working in time with his mouth and tongue. The way he grazed his teeth over your nub, coupled with how deliciously he was curling his fingers, made you gasp, free hand shooting out to grip his messy black hair. He didn't seem to mind, for now. The way the pads of his fingers massaged that particularly spongy part inside of you had you throwing your head back, nearly hard enough to make the mirror behind you crack. "Please, p-please! So...c-close..." You begged, whining as he slowed, but you knew what he wanted. "Please, sir, please let me cum." That seemed to do it for him. Toji groaned against your swollen clit, sucking, licking, and kissing you through your orgasm. He continued, even as you started to come down, making you squirm against his unrelenting abuse on your overstimulated cunt. When your grip tightened and tugged his hair is when he finally came up, fingers coming out of you to grab your wrist and tug your hand off of him. Your rough treatment seemed to stir something primal in him. He didn't say a word as he tugged you off the counter, flipping you and slamming your front against the hard surface. Winded, and unable to say anything, you simply watched in the mirror as he unbuckled his belt and shimmied his pants down just enough for his cock to bounce free, all while using one hand to pin your wrists behind your back. Once he was lined up with your dripping core, he released your wrists, only to trap them again on either side of your body, using his large hands to both grip your hips and pin your wrists against your sides. "Five minutes," Toji grunted as he sheathed himself inside you in one thrust, your mouth falling open in a silent cry. With the pace he was going, you knew this would be the especially rough treatment you never got to see the other night. Using his overwhelming strength, he lifted your body so he wasn't having to hunch over your tiny frame. Your toes couldn't touch the ground, even in your heels. You were completely at his mercy as he fucked into you, the sound of skin slapping against skin deafening in the otherwise quiet room. "Still want me to break you, princess?" He lilted, abs tightening every time his hips rammed into yours. "Want me to break that tight little pussy, fuck you so good so no other dick can satisfy you?" His lewd words fell on deaf ears, too consumed by every time he thrust into you, the tip of his cock was kissing your cervix oh so wonderfully. You couldn't form words, but watching his towering figure in the mirror grin wickedly at you made you tighten around him. One particularly hard thrust made you scream, tears pricking at your eyes and jaw hanging slack. Toji couldn't help but hiss at the sight, watching the tears stream down your face. He only fucked you harder, your senseless blubbering increasing in volume and pitch, drool sliding out from the corner of your lips. "Cum for me, you fucking slut." He commanded, hips shoving you so far into the counter you were sure your pelvis would bruise, the side of your face pressed up against the mirror. And you did. It was earth shattering, your toes curling in your shoes, your hands trying desperately to find something, anything, to grab onto, failing miserably, so you grabbed at the air instead. One of Toji's hands left your side and went up to the back of your neck, seemingly bracing himself as he came inside of you, hips only slowing after he'd finished pumping everything he's worth into your aching, abused hole. Quickly catching his breath and gaining his composure, Toji pulled out of you, leaving you slack against the marble counter. He, unsurprisingly, was still semi-hard as he tucked himself back into his pants, fixing his dress shirt, before finally taking a look at the clock. He clicked his tongue in disapproval. "Eight minutes." Using shaky arms, you slowly pushed yourself off the counter, making sure you had good footing before standing on your own. The sticky, warm mess between your thighs slowly dribbled down your legs, suddenly making you very aware of where you were. "Can I have my underwear back, please?" You bit, slightly irritated, fixing your hair and smudged makeup in the mirror. Toji simply smirked. "Nah." Part of you knew that would be his response, but you were disappointed nevertheless. His hands were in his pockets, and he offered an arm out for you to take. What a gentleman, you thought with a roll of your eyes, walking in front of him and out the door. You ignored the way the man outside eyed you up and down once again, eyes briefly stopping at the dripping liquid on the inside of your legs. Toji followed close behind, tucking another bill in the man's breast pocket without even sparing him a glance. You made a quick beeline for the table, grabbing your purse, and met back up with Toji at the front of the restaurant where he was taking his card back from the front staff. The silence that hung over you two was unbearable as the valet seemed to take his sweet time fetching the car. You held tightly onto your purse, thighs rubbing together, trying to prevent any more cum from leaking out and dripping down your legs. He didn't even bother helping clean up this time. "Keep moving like that and I might just have to fuck you again." Surprised by his words, you looked up at him, then down at the beginnings of a tent in his pants. What the hell was this guy taking to have such a high sex drive at his age? The car rolled up, and the two of you walked down the stone steps. Toji very mockingly opened your door for you, arm hanging on the roof when you stepped inside. "Make a mess on my seats and you'll be in big trouble, little girl." Defiantly, you swayed your ass on the seat underneath you, the squelching sound of his seed rubbing into the leather audible. "Should've helped me clean up then, asshole." You spat back, watching his unwavering gaze and unfaltering expression. He didn't say anything else, only closing the door with a little too much force, making you jump. He quickly opened the driver's side door, settling himself in and closing it behind him. He didn't buckle his seat belt, and as you reached for your own, he drove off, only shooting you a glance. "Touch that seat belt and I'll stop right here, right now, and fuck you right over the hood of the car." He was uneasily nonchalant, lighting a cigarette. You believed him. Placing your hands back on top of the purse in your lap, you sat in silence for a moment. When Toji pulled onto the highway that headed towards your apartment, his arm tensed, gripping the wheel tighter. His elbow was propped up against the car door, fingers hovering over his mouth as he took a long drag of his smoke. "If you wanna run that pretty mouth, you better put it to good use." He warned, giving you another glance as he pulled into the right lane. Swallowing, mouth suddenly very dry, you dumbly stared at him. Was he really telling you to give him road head? Your eyes trailed down, seeing the well defined outline of his hard cock in his pants. That answered your question. "Well? I'm waiting." Fingers tapped the wheel impatiently, urging you to lean over the center console and unbuckle, unbutton, and pull his pants down when he raised his hips slightly. When you took the base into your fist, he glanced down at you, hand still hovering against his mouth. He looked back up when you took the tip in, slowly moving down with every bob of your head. Toji exhaled in approval, eyes closing and rolling back just briefly when he felt you go down far enough to make you gag. The last two inches were never met with the warmth of your mouth, deciding to put your hands to work instead. One hand worked in time with your mouth, coaxing the occasional hum or grunt from him. He didn't make much noise, so every time he did, it sent a jolt of pride down your spine. Making a turn off the highway, Toji exhaled quickly through his mouth, hips bucking upwards as you swirled your tongue when you came up, then pushing your tongue along the bottom vein as you went back down. Just as he was pulling into your apartment complex, you could feel his climax reaching, his hips moving up in time with your mouth. As suddenly as the car stopped, a hand was placed on the back of your head, forcing you down to take all of him in your mouth. Tears spilled as your eyes screwed shut, choking and gagging as he held you there, a low, moaned good girl falling from his lips as he came down your throat. He held you there a moment too long, finally letting go of your head. You shot up, taking a deep breath, swallowing the remnants of his seed, and coughing. You glared at him, only to be met with a shit-eating grin. "Looks like that smart mouth is good for something. Now get out of my car."

Just Doin’ My Job, Darlin’
Summary: Your job as a Ravager gets you into trouble with the intergalactic hero known as Captain Marvel.
Pairing: Reader x Carol Danvers
Warnings: some blood, light violence
Words: 3,547
"Uh... hey," you practically stuttered out, startled to find someone behind you.
You were a ravager, and you were damn good at your job. That meant knowing your surroundings, especially when you were on a job. Yet, somehow, she'd managed to sneak up on you. If you hadn't been quick enough to shove the ring deep into your pocket, you'd have been caught red-handed.
You were damn good at your job, and you composed yourself in seconds. The ring slipped out from where it was clutched between your fingers and you withdrew your hands from within your pockets. You plastered a confident smile on your face as you crossed your arms across your chest.
"Hey there," the blonde offered, an equally confident smile on her face. "What's up?"
"Nothin'," you shrugged, uncrossing your arms and looping your thumbs through the belt loops on your pants. "Taking a walk. Beautiful night, isn't it, Beautiful?"
The blonde's eyes sparkled in amusement. She took a few steps closer. Confidence still coursing through your veins, you let her. You didn't make any move to back down. She noticed that. When she stopped, she was only a few feet away from you. Another step and she could have reached out and touched you.
The blonde's lips crept into a cocky expression. "Beautiful night indeed."
You didn't dare make it obvious how you were checking out the area for the second time. When you'd entered, you'd made note of every entrance and exit to the area. The blonde was blocking the one that lay directly ahead, but not the one behind you. That was free for you to turn and run to. You just needed to wait. If you went now, she'd be right behind you and able to catch up to you in mere seconds.
"Headed somewhere? I could walk you?" She offered. "You know, Fennal isn't always safe at night."
"I'm just going up the street. I'm good thanks."
You could feel the ring pressed against your leg in your pocket. You knew she knew you were up to no good. You also knew that she knew you knew she knew. Neither of you would say that aloud, though. It was a bit of a game, at this point. She wanted that little piece of jewelry in your pocket. You wanted it too. No, you wanted the pay you were promised for stealing it.
"You sure? I'm probably headed in the same direction."
"I doubt it," you laughed.
The blonde smirked a little. You kept your eyes with hers, unable to ignore just how beautiful her light brown irises really were. But you wouldn't tell her that. You wouldn't tell her jack shit. You were waiting for her to get distracted for one brief moment so that you could turn and sprint down that alley. It seemed your wishes were heard.
"Hey, Carol!" A voice called.
The blonde, Carol, let her gaze flicker toward the voice for a mere millisecond and you took the opportunity to turn and dart as fast as you could down the alley behind you. Your ears strained to hear over the sound of your own shoes hitting the gravel beneath your feet. Unmistakably, though, you heard the set of footsteps chasing after you. You pushed even harder.
You ducked through a backyard, pushing out of your way a jacket that was hanging on a clothesline. At the other side of the yard, you hopped over the fence and landed smoothly on the ground on the other side. But now, you didn't hear Carol's steps. You didn't risk slowing down. You kept onward in the direction of your pod.
As you ran, you became aware of your shadow growing in front of you. It was surrounded by a glowing orange light. Even as your lungs struggled to get enough oxygen, your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. When your shadow began to spin around your body until it was behind you, you realized why. You could have huffed aloud at the complete unfairness of the situation.
Carol was fifteen feet off the ground, surrounded by a bright orange glow. She still had that same smirk on her face as she looked down on you. You were hesitating in your step, now, not sure you could outrun her. You knew one thing, though. Despite these powers the blonde had, you weren't about to give up. You turned on your heel.
You watched your own shadow to keep track of Carol. She was following you. Your shadow shrunk and indicated she was getting closer. When your shadow began to shrink faster, you made a sharp turn to the left. The shadow grew a little as she fell behind a few feet, not prepared for the sudden change in direction. Your chest was rising and falling rapidly, but you weren't a stranger to chases. You'd had more than a few run-ins with guards from many planets throughout the galaxy.
You smirked at the sight in front of you. One of the planet's natives had just inserted the keys into a hover bike but hadn't yet gotten on. You struggled to go faster than you thought you could. You pushed him to the ground, hopped on, and immediately pushed the bike as fast as it would go. You had to grip the handles tight as your inertia tried to hold you back.
The bike seemed to rival Carol's speed. The size of your shadow in front of you stayed constant and you managed to take a quick glance behind you. Carol was high in the air, hands down by her hips, moving more quickly than a person should be able to in order to keep up with the bike you were on. Then your pod came into view and you let a small smirk come over your face. You turned to the bike made to move past the ship, then jumped off.
Pain raced through your body. You ignored it, rolling a couple times to take the impact, racing up the ramp as quick as you possibly could, and slamming your hand down on the red button to shut the hatch. Carol wasn't thirty feet away. You took the last of your energy to roll onto your back.
"Athena, max speed!" You shouted.
The AI heard. She ignored every protocol about seatbelts and closed doors as the captain's voice override her programming. The pod had a max speed of 50,000 kilometers per hour. It was nothing compared to the main ship, but it was sure faster than Carol. The ship's acceleration got the best of her, and soon enough you were barreling through space and leaving her far behind.
As it had sped up faster than physics should have allowed, though, your body had slammed into the wall behind you. You groaned as you rolled away from it, every bone, organ, and tissue in your body aching from the speed. Your organs seemed to have caught up to the ship, finally. You resisted the urge to puke as you pulled yourself to your feet, rubbing a sore shoulder and swiping your fingers over the blood dripping down your forehead.
"Thanks, Athena. Take us home."
"Roger that, Boss."
You let yourself drop into your chair. You took the black mask off from where it had rested over the top half of your face, rubbing the pad of your index finger over the spot where it had pushed into the bridge of your nose, grumbling in frustration. You could feel the indent in your skin.
"ETA?"
"Twenty-seven minutes."
Those twenty-seven minutes seemed to take forever. The pod was small. There wasn't anywhere you could lay your head back. There wasn't a damn bathroom, a fact you couldn't seem to get your mind off. When the pod had secured itself to the mothership, you practically sprinted out and to the nearest toilet.
Your red jacket was undone as you stepped onto the bridge of The Athena. It was the middle of the night based on your home planet, the time that you and your crew followed to at least keep a semblance of a schedule. Because of the time, though, most of the crew had retreated to their quarters for the night and were fast asleep.
"Hey, Cap."
The greeting caught your attention. You turned toward the voice, smiling when you met the gaze of your first mate. He wasn't much younger than you were. He was from a planet called Dervius, having retreated from the planet to live a life with the Ravagers after living a life of poverty there for ten years, having been cast out by his family at only eight. It was your third day as the leader of your clan when you picked him up and took him in, giving him a spot in your crew. That was already five years ago and the Dervion had worked his way all the way up to first mate.
"Vyn," you greeted.
"How'd it go?"
You pulled the sparkling ring from your pocket. Vyn grinned at the sight of it. He pulled a device out of his pocket, tapping on the screen a few times and then humming quietly as he scrolled. He let out a soft exclamation of victory as he found what he had been searching for.
"Three hundred thousand. Damn, Cap. That thing can't be worth 100k."
"Well, we charge for the stealing part too, Vyn."
Vyn shrugged. "Fair enough. Why don't you go catch some shuteye? We should be back to the buyer in a few hours. Who's doing the delivery?"
"I will," you said, sticking the ring back into your pocket.
Vyn chuckled. "You know, Cap, that most clan leaders aren't so hands on with the dirty work."
"I'm not most clan leaders, Vyn," you winked. "I'm heading down to my quarters. Call for me when we get there."
︽✵︽
You straightened out your red jacket as you stepped out of your pod. You nodded at the landing strip attendant as you ventured onto the familiar planet. You whistled merrily on your way, flashing wide smiles at whoever you happened to make eye contact with. You glanced at your phone as it directed you where to go. You could have caught a ride, but you were up for a bit of a walk.
It was a half hour walk to the place you were looking for. You stepped in quietly. It was a bar, and not exactly a very nice looking one. You wouldn't be surprised if half the people in there were criminals. In fact, you wouldn't be surprised if you weren't the only Ravager in there. When you entered you pulled the mask over your face again, clipping the flames of the Ravagers over your chest.
You stepped up to the bar and ordered a drink. You took it when it came and slid into one of the booths. You'd arrived early, and knew it'd be a while before the client arrived. You scanned the area as you waited, sipping quietly as you watched the planet natives, finding entertainment in two particularly large guys fighting over who had made the illegal move in a game of darts.
"Captain Red?"
Of course, that wasn't your real name. You'd never give your real name to a client. You only nodded, gesturing to the seat across from you. He sat down and fumbled with his hands a little, clearly nervous. It wasn't an uncommon reaction. He was meeting with a thief for hire and paying a good sum of money for stolen goods.
"I have the money."
"Straight to business, I see," you hummed, sipping from your glass. "That's alright with me."
You reached into your pocket, pulling out the ring. His eyes immediately locked to it. He reached out and you pulled away, keeping the piece out of his reach. You raised a single eyebrow as his eyes moved back up to yours. You clicked your tongue as a small smile of amusement played over your lips.
"Units first."
He nodded. He pulled out a device from his pocket, pressing some buttons on it. Yours, which sat out on the table in front of you, beeped. You glanced at it to find the transfer complete. Then you nodded, placing the ring flat in your palm, and holding it out in front of you.
"Pleasure doing business with you, sir."
He grabbed the ring, nodded, and scampered out without another word. You chuckled lightly to yourself, draining what was left in your glass. You pulled the mask off again and took the pin off your chest. Everyone else in the room was too drunk to notice the change. You stepped up to the bar once more.
"I'll take another."
The bartender nodded. He filled your glass as you put a finger to the comm in your ear and let Vyn know you were going to stick around for a little fun, should anyone want to join. But the Ravagers had made their own fun the previous night and were far too hungover to think of joining you in the bar. You rolled her eyes as you lowered your hand.
"Prettiest girl in the bar, aren't ya?" A voice slurred to your left.
You turned just in time to see the man flashed you a wide grin. You nodded and tilted your head a little. "I'd expect."
"So why don't ya come sit a little closer?"
You laughed. "I'm alright just where I am."
He sneered. "Listen here-"
But a shadow appeared between you and he, cast upon the bar top. It distracted the both of you. You turned to see who had stepped up to the two of you, and your jaw could have hit the ground. But your face stayed blank as the blonde's gaze met you for just a brief second before turning back to the man who had been hitting on you. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Everything alright here?"
"'Course."
"I'd hope," she hummed. "Because I seem to remember you and I having a nice, long talk about good manners."
"We did," he coughed. He stood up, nodding at you and retreating back across the room to where his friends were all jesting and shouting, spilling their drinks on the tabletops, the floor, and themselves.
You turned your attention back to the woman who had stepped up next to you. She was taking the seat beside yours, ordering a drink for herself and another for you. You smirked a little when she turned to you. Despite your lack of a mask and the absence of the flames upon your chest, she recognized you immediately.
"Long time no see," she offered.
You chuckled. "Very. What's a Fenarian guard like you hangin' out in a place like this for, Carol?"
"Caught my name, I see," she said, accepting the drink that was slid toward her. "But the guard thing isn't quite accurate."
"Oh, no?"
That didn't get a reply. You sipped your drink, watching her the entire time. She only shrugged her shoulders, drinking from her own glass. It stayed like that for a long while. Your egos were both too big to dare be the one to break the silence that had fallen upon you. So, you drank in silence. In fact, you'd both drained your glasses before Carol finally took it upon herself to be the one to speak the first words.
"You know my name, and I don't know yours."
"That's intentional," you told her. "But if you must call me something, I usually just go by Captain. Cap works."
"That's a title, not a name."
"A fact I am well aware of, Carol."
When she didn't reply, you smirked a little. You weren't shy about the way you were eyeing her up and down. She was, to be frank, one of the most attractive women you'd ever met. She was smirking too, once your eyes had finally made their way back up to hers. You only offered a small tilt of your head in acknowledgement.
Carol stood. She placed a few coins down on the bar, enough to cover her own tab, yours, and a little more. She offered you a hand. You were confident, cocky even. You weren't one bit afraid of this woman. You put your hand into hers and let her pull you to your feet. She led you away from your stool, out the door, and into the bright sunlight of the planet. Then she kept going, moving away from the bar and leading you down the streets. At some point your fingers had intertwined with hers and now you were walking hand in hand down the streets.
"You know I didn't need anyone to save me from that guy, right?"
"A thanks might have sufficed," she replied.
"It might have," you agreed.
Finally, you both arrived back at the landing strips. She led you right back to your own pod. You hadn't yet paid the fee for having kept it parked there for the last hour and a half but, judging from the look on Carol's face, you weren't going anywhere just yet. This time it was you leading as you pulled her on board, closing the hatch behind you. Once it was closed you moved.
Your hands moved and took Carol's waist, pulling her close to you. Her body was flush against yours, her hands in your hair, as she kissed you back. She let out a soft noise as you pushed her against the wall behind her. You smirked against her lips. It was a long moment before Carol pushed you away breathlessly. But you weren't done.
Your lips moved down to her neck, bringing the skin between your lips as you sucked roughly at it. It was a full moan that tumbled from her lips this time. You wanted to laugh in victory, but instead you released the skin, running your tongue softly over the mark you'd left on her. You moved back up to her lips and pecked them once, pulling back to glance into those light brown irises.
"That all you got then, Y/N?"
"I thought you didn't know my name."
Carol rolled her eyes. "Sorry, love. I could call you Captain if you wanted."
You put a hand against her cheek. "That would be extraordinarily hot."
Carol laughed. She put her lips against yours again, kissing you once more. She spun the both of you so that you traded places. This time it was your back against the wall. You leaned into it without much fight, letting her take her turn controlling the pace of the kiss. When you finally separated, she rest her forehead against yours.
"I love you."
You laughed. "We just met."
"Oh, fuck off," she laughed too.
You brought her hand into yours, thumb gliding across the ring you'd put on her finger five years ago. Her eyes darted to the identical one on yours. Her smirk faded into a smile and she brought you hand up to her lips, kissing your knuckles softly. You leaned a little further into her touch, pecking her lips once more.
"I love you, too," you muttered against her.
She laughed. She put two fingers beneath your chin, tilting your gaze up to meet hers. You loved those eyes with that cunning sparkle in light brown irises that you'd fallen so hard for all those years ago. Just as she was about to kiss you once again, there was a banging on the outside of the pod. You huffed in frustration.
You didn't even bother going out. You quickly transferred the fee you owed electronically. The banging stopped, and so you assumed everything had gone through without a problem. You shoved the small device back into your pocket and then turned your attention back to Carol. She was watching you with amusement sparking in her eyes.
"You're cute when you're angry," she commented.
"Yeah, yeah," you rolled your eyes. "We should get out of here before someone, you know, chases me off the planet."
Carol laughed, she put her arms around your waist. "I'm Captain Marvel. I can't let some thief get away with stealing valuables. Maybe they shouldn't have run."
"Just doin' my job, darlin'," you chuckled, arms resting on her shoulders and hands linking loosely behind her neck.
She hummed softly at that, kissing you again. It had been five years and her touch still made you melt. You were sure another five years could pass and that still wouldn't have changed. Your eyes fluttered shut and your lips moved with hers and the world could have disappeared around you and you wouldn't have noticed. But it didn't. There was banging on the door again.
"I need this spot!" The attendant shouted from the other side of the door.
You huffed. You forced yourself to peel away from Carol's body. You took a seat in front of the controls, and Carol took the one next to you. You started everything up, checking that they'd recharged the battery while you'd been there. Once you were sure of everything, you lay a hand on Carol's thigh and glanced out the front window.
"Take us away, Athena," you said.
"Roger that, Captain Danvers."

Your Heart is My Home
It wasn’t his original plan, but as Javier left the embassy well past midnight — again — he steered right out of the employee parking lot toward your place instead of heading to his own empty apartment. He was dead on his feet but after the day he had, he realized that all he wanted to do was crawl into bed next to you. Just as he had practically every night since he met you. In the past he might’ve sought out a bottle or a brothel, but lately the warmth and comfort of your embrace was all he craved.
With the spare key to your apartment that hung next to his own, Javier opened your front door as quietly as possible, mindful of the old hinges that creaked past a certain point. He kept telling himself he’d fix that for you on his next day off from work, but those were few and far in between. With light footsteps he toed off his boots and nestled them next to yours on the shoe rack and his leather jacket found its usual hook just above yours. The more he thought about it, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d spent the night at his own apartment. Like his things, Javier seemed to have a home there with you.
He didn’t even startle at that thought. It was just… true.
Instead, the tension in his shoulders seemed to dissipate the more the notion settled within him. As he exhaled the stress of another bad day, the sweet, vanilla scent of home replaced it with something much more comforting.
Until a quiet buzzing noise drifted to his ears and disrupted the peace. “What the fuck is that?” he mumbled to himself, brows pinching in confusion. Socked feet padded across the old hardwood floors as he moved toward your bedroom. Only then did he notice the dim light seeping out from under the door. He pushed it open gently on the off chance you were asleep.
Javier’s eyes shot open when he realized you were wide awake.
With the silky sheets thrown back, you were a sight to behold in the flickering candlelight, sprawled out on the bed wearing nothing but lacy pink lingerie dotted with red hearts. Mind overcome by a lusty haze, he moved to the edge of the bed without thinking and gazed down at your angelic form. His mouth went dry when he noticed your panties pushed to the side as you fucked yourself with a vibrator. It was small and discreet and got the job done when you needed it. He’d seen it before but swore you wouldn’t need it as long as he was around.
“You’re finally home,” you said, acknowledging his presence.
“You should be asleep.” He’d aimed for chastising, but his amusement was evident in his tone.
“I tried to wait for you,” you cooed, staring up at him with glossy, half-lidded eyes. “I’ve hardly seen you all week and I needed you.”
“My poor baby,” he consoled, squeezing your thigh with a firm hand. “Was this pussy aching for me?” With pouty lips you nodded. He smirked when he realized you were still pumping the vibrator into you. In that moment, you were a desperate, unashamed little thing and he was the luckiest man alive. “Is that little toy satisfying you, cariño?”
You whined as you shook your head against the pillow, but he was already unbuckling his belt, the leather strap snapping as he pulled it out of the loops. “You need something bigger?”
“Yes, Javi,” you simpered.
“You need my big dick to stretch out that tight little cunt?” he teased, suddenly feeling much more awake and inclined to play with you than he was when he’d first walked through the front door. You moaned as your back arched off the bed. He stripped off his pants, leaving him in just a half-buttoned up pink shirt. He knelt on the bed in between your parted thighs and leaned over you, wrapping a hand around your neck. His fingers pressed against your pulse points in warning. “Answer me.”
“Oh, fuck yes!” you wailed. Your own hand circled his wrist, holding him in place. He squeezed and felt your ragged breath against his palm. His other hand slipped between your bodies to steal the toy from you. Without so much as a glance, he increased the speed as he expertly pumped it into you and rubbed that sweet spot he loved so much. The one that brought tears to your eyes and made a mess of the bedsheets.
Needing to taste you, he trailed hot, wet kisses across your flushed skin, slightly salty and shimmering, until he reached your breasts. Your tits looked so pretty covered in pink lace with the darker skin of your nipples just visible, teasing him. Mouthing you through the flimsy material, he sucked and bit at each one until both pebbled beneath the fabric. He reveled in the way your body responded to him. Only him.
As he took one nipple between his teeth and fucked you with the vibrator even faster, you cried out. “Right there, don’t stop!”
That was his cue to remove the vibrator from your core.
You groaned in frustration but he grinned when he saw your cum already dripping out of your fluttering hole. At least in the time he’d been there, you hadn’t even orgasmed yet. But his filthy girl was close for him. “What the hell?” you gasped. Your pleading eyes searched his for an answer he gave readily.
“You’re only allowed to cum on my cock tonight, cariño.”
You beamed at him, and his chest filled with a familiar mix of pride and admiration. “Then give it to me, Javi.”
With a devilish smirk, he turned the speed up again before he wrapped your hand around the toy and placed the rounded head right on your clit. You hummed pleasantly at the vibrations. “Hold that right there for me. Can you do that?” You nodded eagerly. “Good girl,” Javier praised with a slap to the inside of your thigh and he parted your legs further.
Settling between your thighs, he gathered up your slick and stroked his hard cock to its full length, nearly there just from watching you. Grasping his base, he entered you in one slow push. He usually had to spend more time working you open, but you’d made sure you were wet and ready for him that night. He stilled when he was fully seated inside you and tried to steady his breathing. He could feel the vibrations from your toy and the new sensation threatened to overwhelm him.
“Oh, god,” you panted. Your hand slipped beneath his open collar and your nails dug into his shoulder and you held on for dear life. Javier hadn’t even started moving inside you yet. “It’s too much. I’m gonna cum.”
“Already?” he teased.
“Shut up,” you laughed even as you squeezed your eyes shut. “I feel so full. Fuck– I’m right there.”
“I can tell.” His voice strained as he struggled to hold on to his composure. The feel of your pussy pulsing around him as you neared your orgasm was nearly enough to send him over the edge. “Hold on, baby. Let me take care of you”
Without warning, he pulled out and snapped his hips against yours. Again. And again. You made breathy little moans and yelps that matched his every forward thrust that spurred him on. It wouldn’t take either of you long before you fell apart for the other.
Javier glanced up at the sound of a sharp rapt on your shared wall. He cursed to himself when he realized it was your damn neighbors again. He was well aware of how they felt about him.
Annoyed, he changed his angle so every time his hips snapped against yours, the metal headboard hit the wall. You covered your mouth as you let out an uncharacteristically girlish giggle. But you grinned for him when you said, “fuck me harder, mi corazón.”
He covered your body with his, caging you in, and pounded into you. You cried out, a mix of his name, every curse you knew, and a string of desperate oh gods tied together with mewls of pleasure. It drove him fucking wild. Suddenly the only word you seemed to know was yes, yes, yes and he felt you clench down around him, felt you soaking his cock as you neared your peak.
You came hard and loud, reduced to a writhing mess beneath him and he smiled as he fucked you through it all. Javier was never far behind you. He pulled out at the last minute, groaning as he painted you with him cum. Coating your soft stomach and pretty tits with hot, sticky white ropes.
He was a sweaty mess, shirt sticking to his skin, hair damp on his forehead. He could hardly keep his eyes open. Could barely hold himself upright. But he knew you. He knew you didn’t want to wake up in a few hours like this. He’d promised — promised you and himself — that he’d always take care of you. So, he drug himself out of bed.
“Cariño, stay with me.” Your eyes blinked open and he helped you up and into the bathroom on shaky legs. He switched on the shower, testing the temperature of the water with an open palm before turning his attention to you.
“This is new.” Javier observed as he flicked open the hook holding your pink bra in place. He guided the straps down your arms and grimaced when he saw the mess he made on the pretty fabric. He tossed it aside with your panties to wash later.
“I brought it just for you, mi corazón. I wanted tonight to be special.” Confused, he tried to catch your eye, but you were half asleep on your feet. “And it was,” you said as you pressed a kiss to his cheek and ran your fingers through his damp hair. “It’s always special with you.”
With a quick peck on his lips, you hopped into the shower. After switching the sheets, Javier threw his shirt into the basket as well to worry about in the morning. He figured he’d start the laundry as soon as he woke up and have it in the dryer before he left for work. It’d make your life a little easier.
He joined you in the shower, carefully washing both of your bodies with your sudsy lavender soap. Washing away the aftermath of your evening. Washing away the stress of his day. He was sated and relaxed and... as he looked at the dreamy smile on your face, he was happy. So fucking happy it felt unreal. He’d never expected to come home and find you like that, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Somehow, you were always just what he needed.
After toweling you off and earning a lilting laugh from you, Javier offered you the red satin nightgown that hung off a knob on your dresser drawer. The thought crossed his mind that if he’d left work at a decent hour, he would’ve come home to you wearing the slip of fabric for him. Like a perfect present to unwrap after a long day. Pushing down his frustration at himself, he led you back to bed with your hand in his, wanting to hold you through the night with the time he did have to give you. He blew out the candles you'd lit before slipping between the fresh sheets and pulling you toward him.
“There’s something I want to ask you.” You looked awake and alert now, eyes boring into his. He shifted so the two of you laid side by side facing each other. “What do you think about moving in here?” You let the question settle between you before you continued, ready to state your case. “You spend most nights here already and I– I think we could make a home together.”
“I like that idea.” He twined your hands before kissing the tops of your knuckles, smiling against your skin. “Not sure your neighbors will.”
The two of you touched foreheads as you laughed until your shared mirth turned into a collective sigh. He felt the same relief you exhaled. Logically, living together made sense. But there was also something inside his chest, something well beyond logic, that had wanted that all along. Throwing an arm across his middle, you snuggled closer, seeking his warmth like you always did.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Javi,” you murmured into his neck just as you drifted off.
He huffed out a laugh and shook his head at himself. He’d completely overlooked the date, but you weren’t angry with him. That wasn’t how your relationship worked. He doubted you cared about the holiday any more than he did. And you always understood that his life revolved around his job. You accepted that. Accepted him. He’d never understand how he got so lucky.
“I love you,” he whispered against your temple, testing out those three little words he’d felt for so long for the first time.
“I know,” you sighed. “I love you too. Now rest, mi corazón. You earned it.”

__
This new life with Frank was very simple. Not much else to be said about it. You both went to work and came home. Day after day, week after week. Simple.
It had been almost five months since Frank had finished off the last of the people responsible for his late family’s death. You could tell it still hurt though. It stung deep in his core. Like there was a ton of bricks inside of his chest, weighing him down. It hurt you too, to see him like that. Work for him was just a way to let out everything he was holding deep inside of him. He worked at a construction site, tearing down an old building. Sometimes he didn’t come home till dark and that scared you.
You worked at a catering company. You would go to the companies and help cook and keep the food refreshed. Cooking was something you really loved to do, so when you were able to get this job it really helped the situation.
The situation:
Frank was dead. And technically you were too. Not really anyone knew about you, but you had to be dead too. Now you both were living in a small, one room apartment.
You would come home around 5:00pm every day. Frank never beat you home. The last five months had been rough to say the least. Your marriage felt like it was hanging by a thread. You hardly talked and there was always this tension between you two. Some days you wouldn’t see Frank at all. He would come home after you were asleep, take a quick shower, find the plate of dinner in the fridge, then go to bed. You always made him dinner. Without fail. Frank loved your cooking. He was always starving when he got home.
And by the time you woke up in the morning, he’d be gone. It gave you this ache in your heart when you woke up and he wasn’t beside you in the bed that was much too small for the two of you.
So you would get ready for the day, then head out the door for work. It was always the same. Unless on the rare occasion, Frank would be dead asleep next to you, breathing heavily. He slept so hard sometimes it made you worry about how intensely he worked.
Work was long today. It felt like everything was ten times harder than it usually was, so you were looking forward to getting off your feet and sipping some tea, while reading a book. The little things meant the most living like this. The air was cool as you walked along the busy, Brooklyn streets toward home. You pulled your coat collar up against your neck, attempting to warm yourself.
After a few flights of stairs, you pulled your keys out of your bag and unlocked the door. You set your things on the table in the middle of the room and put your coat in the wardrobe that was just small enough to fit in the room. You looked around the apartment. The bed was facing you, across from the door and the wardrobe. In the middle a table sat there with two chairs on each side. To the left was a door that led to the smallest bathroom in history. Then a doorway beside the bathroom led to the narrow kitchen. The cabinet space was limited and there was a small oven and only a little bit of counter space. The Fridge seemed to take up the most room. It wasn’t much, but you did your best to make it feel like a home. Flowers on the table— they were dried up and dead now. A rug in the kitchen, a knitted quilt on the bed, and a few books on the nightstands.
You made your tea, then made dinner soon after. Just like always, saving a plate for Frank. You had finished dinner, avoiding the mess, now sitting at the table, reading and indulging in another cup of tea to help you sleep well tonight. Then you heard a key slide into the lock and the door opened. Frank’s heavy boots stepped in, the weight of his feet sounded like he had had a long day too. He placed his metal lunch box on the table, and sat down to take off his shoes.
“Hey,” his deep voice whispered.
“Hey,” you said just as quietly.
He put his shoes by the door, then went to the bathroom to wash his hands. You watched him from where you sat. His dark hair was getting longer and his beard made him look so different. You didn’t mind it though. Your eyes traveled down to his hands. They were so calloused with so many welts and blistered. More proof he worked so hard.
“I wish you wouldn’t work so hard,” you said without even thinking about it.
Frank turned off the water and patted his hands dry. You knew he had heard you, but he pretended not to.
“I’ll heat up your dinner,” you said, setting down your book and heading for the fridge, avoiding eye contact.
As his plate made its way around the microwave, you stared at it intensely, lost in a jungle of thoughts.
You and Frank had met during his massacre in Hell’s Kitchen. One night (or early morning) you were walking home from your dead-end job at a crappy diner, when a strange man came up behind you, sticking a gun against your side. He casually told you under his breath to stay quiet or you were dead. You felt fear spread through your entire body, not one finger left without terror. You continued to walk, the panic making it hard to put one foot in front of the other. But the man helped you out by shoving you along.
“Wha-What do you want?” you managed to crack out.
“I haven’t quite decided yet,” his voice sounded evil and cold.
Your stomach fell through, your heart pounded even harder. You had hoped he had just wanted your wallet, but now it seemed he wanted more from you.
“Come here,” he growled, shoving you into an alley, no one around to possibly help you.
You let out a cry as he shoved you against the wall, your head felt like it could have split against the brick. You sobbed out little pleases and cries.
“Shut up!” the man yelled in your face.
You finally saw what he looked like and you almost wished you hadn’t. He began to pull off your coat with one hand, the other holding the gun at your stomach. You felt paralyzed. You wanted to fight back, to never let this man take this from you, but you just couldn’t. Once your coat was off, he started on your shirt, a white button down, your diner uniform.
“Oh, hello, Y/N,” he sneered, noticing your name tag. “It’s nice to meet you.” His voice echo through your head. You knew it would haunt you if you made it out of this alive.
At that moment, you heard heavy feet scuffing against the sidewalk outside of the alley.
“Please,” you said a little louder, hoping the person would hear you.
“Shut up!” the man yelled again, shoving the barrel of the gun into your stomach harder. And just then, a large man shoved into the man who had half unbuttoned your shirt, knocking him to the ground. You cried harder, relief washing over you. The big man got the gun from the criminal and began beating him with it. Repeatedly and with so much force, you couldn’t help but stare. When his head was much too beat in to be alive, the big man stood up, looking down at his work. You just stood, melting into the brick wall. Both of your breath was rapid and heavy.
“You okay, ma’am?” the big man’s raspy voice echoed in the alley.
You just nodded quickly, almost scared of your hero too. He turned to look at you, his face splattered with blood. This was all too much. You were just coming home from work, looking forward to sleeping for twelve hours. But there was something in his eyes. They were dark, but full of something you couldn’t quite place. Your mind began to fog up and you felt yourself lose control. Then your legs gave out and you began to lose consciousness. You felt strong hands catch you around your waist, then you were out.
It was dark and quiet except for the faint sounds of cars and sirens. You were laying down and staring up at the darkness, a small light illuminated the space around you. When you were fully awake, you shot up, looking around. For a second you thought you had been taken somewhere, kidnapped, but when you saw the man who had saved you, your fear subsided some; but still wary of your safety.
“Hey,” his voice just as gravelly as in the alley. “You’re safe.” He added, noticing your nervous eyes.
“Where are we?” you asked, looking around.
“An old building,” he replied. “You’re safe here.” He assured again.
You took in your surroundings again, lost in your fuzzy brain. Then something struck you, and you looked back at the man sitting on the floor. His face was stained with bruises. Dark ones around his eyes and lighter ones on his cheeks.
“Wait…” you spoke softly. “You’re Frank Castle. You’re The-The Punisher.”
“That’s what they’re calling me.” he said, almost pissed off at the mention of it.
You felt a bit of fear stir up inside of you again, but it quickly settled. He saved you.
“Why did you save me?” you asked.
“I wasn’t going to just keep walking when I heard you were in trouble.” his gruff voice replied.
You gave a slight smile, thinking.
“You’re not like what the news makes you out to be.” you started. “I mean, what you did to that man was pretty… intense, but you saved me. They make it seem like you’ll just kill anyone.”
“I only take out the ones that deserve it.” he said matter of factly.
You grimaced a little at that; you didn’t know how you felt about his morals. But you watched him from where you laid. There was something about him that was comforting. Maybe it was the fact that he had just saved you from something that would have stuck with you forever, or maybe it was that he seemed like he genuinely cared about your well being.
“Where’s my coat?” you sat up, feeling a little frantic. It was something that felt so important in the moment that it made you anxious.
“Oh, I- I didn’t get it. I didn’t see it,” Frank said, noticing your frazzled state.
“It’s okay,” you sighed. It was just a coat.
“Can I go home?” you asked, slightly pulling the blanket off of you.
“Yeah,” he stood up, a grunt of pain leaving his lips. “I’ll walk you back.”
At first you were going to decline for some reason, but then you realized that was the stupidest thing you could do. You stood up slowly, your head still fuzzy from the passing out.
“Here. You can use this.” Frank laid a big coat over your shoulders.
“Oh- thank you.” you said, caught off guard. You slipped your arms in the sleeves that were too long for your hands to poke through.
“Yeah,” he said under his breath.
As you walked home there was silence between you. You wanted to talk to him though. This all felt so surreal.
Then a loud noise, probably a motorcycle backfiring, came out of nowhere. You were still shaken up by what had happened maybe an hour before, so this sent fear through your body. You let out a fearful cry and grabbed onto Frank walking beside you.
“Hey, it’s okay.” He said calmly. “It’s nothing.” He held your wrists, taking your hands off of his arm.
“I’m sorry,” you let out a nervous laugh. “I’m so on edge. This isn’t my average night.”
Frank gave you a smile. His smiles were magic, his eyes smiled too.
“This isn’t too unusual for me,” he snickered. “Except for you.”
That made you smile a little wider. There was something about him. Had you known him for twenty seconds, or twenty years?
“Well, this is it.” You said, taking a step up to your apartment building, now more level with Frank’s eyes.
He stood there, stocky frame, both hands in his pockets.
“You sure you’re okay?” He asked, a slight smile on his lips.
“Yeah, I’m good,” you said quietly, almost blushing at the care in his voice. “Do you want your coat back?” You began pulling your arms out of the sleeves.
“No- you keep it,” he put a hand out in front of you in rejection. “I lost yours, so.”
You smiled again, putting your arms back in all the way. It was quiet for a little while, just standing in front of each other. The city was mild tonight- well, this morning. It had to be 3am by now.
“Thank you.. Frank.” You said his name, really felt the word, nervous what he would think that you used it. Names are weird to say sometimes… when you don’t know the person very well.
He didn’t respond right away, maybe you were overthinking and it hadn’t really been that long.
“—For the coat.” You giggled, holding the front of the coat with one hand like a model.
Frank snickered, shaking his head. “No problem.” He grinned.
The joke hung in the air for a while as an excuse to not leave each other. But then it left and you both stood there in the silence again.
“Good night… uh.” Frank said.
“Y/N,” you replied.
Frank had seen your name tag, but he didn’t want to sound creepy by knowing your name.
“Y/N.” He said back.
The way his voice carried your name gave you this feeling deep in your stomach.
“Good night.” You replied.
He took a step back and you took another step up.
“Be safe.” He said quickly, then turned away, walking back to where you both came from.
The next night, you were walking home from work again. This time with your pepper spray in hand. As you walked, you felt like someone was following you. You became very aware and walked a little quicker. Then you slightly turned your head and caught a glance of the person. You stopped in your tracks. That frame you knew anywhere.
“Are you trying to get pepper sprayed in the face?” You chuckled.
“Not what I was wanting to happen, but worth it just to know you’re taking safety precautions.” You heard a gruff voice say behind you.
You let yourself laugh out loud, turning around to see Frank in a baseball cap and coat. He was grinning from ear to ear too.
It continued like that. He would walk you home every night. “Just for his peace of mind” he would tell you. That made the butterflies in your stomach fly higher. Those butterflies wouldn’t calm down. Even when you were just at home or at work. Frank was all you could think about.
One night you were at the diner, pulling another graveyard shift. You were in the back filling up the salt and pepper shakers. It had been a slow night. The bell sounded, telling you someone had come in.
“One second!” You called, screwing the top back on a salt shaker. Then you went to the front and saw Frank. You both gave each other bright smiles.
“What are you doing here?” You asked, coming out from behind the counter.
“Had the night off, thought I’d pop by.” He shrugged.
“Oh, okay,” you replied, shrugging too, joking like this was a normal thing he did. “Coffee?” You asked, but already started pouring a mug.
“Thank you.” He nodded. “I’ll just wait over here till you get off.” He went over to a corner booth.
“Okay,” you ducked your head, smiling like a fool.
As things progressed in The Kitchen, Frank walked you home less and less. You knew what he was. You knew what he did. It scared you to think about sometimes. There was something so mysterious about him, but there was something rooted so deeply in him that was just simply good. That’s what you saw every time you looked at him. His goodness.
Frank didn’t tell you much about what was going on, he said he didn’t want you getting in the middle of it; you had a couple fights about that. But you knew about Karen and how she was trying to help him. You were thankful for her. That she was helping him in ways you couldn’t.
He told you about his family. You cried. It broke your heart to hear the way he talked about them. His eyes glossy, his voice growing raspier.
Then he got arrested. You were shocked as you watched the news on the tv in the diner.
As the days dragged along, you felt yourself start to think it wasn’t ever going to be what you wanted it to be with Frank. It was hard to come to that conclusion, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to stop caring about him.
One day, you tracked down Karen Page and told her who you were and you both talked for hours. She told you about how she was investigating his case. You told her what you knew about him, it wasn’t much at all, though.
She told you as much as she could about his case. It was nice to have her, you both got along so well.
You kept up with the trial through the news, it hurt to see the way he was handling it.
Then he broke out of jail. That scared you. You didn’t know what he was doing.
Then all of the shootings happened. Everyone was blaming him, and you didn’t know what to believe. Karen was quick to tell you that it wasn’t him and that he had saved her. Those few days you were a nervous wreck. Karen wasn’t answering your calls and you didn’t know what to do.
Then the next night— or very early morning, you were coming home from work. You dumped your coat (the one that was really Frank’s) and purse on your couch and headed for the fridge; you were starving. Then you heard a sound in the corner of your living room, causing your stomach to flip. You slammed the fridge door in fear. Then a figure stepping forward, into the moonlight coming through the window.
“Frank?” you dropped the apple, tears immediately flooding your eyes. “Wha-What is going on?” Your voice quivered with emotion. You noticed is bruised and bloody face.
“I gotta disappear for a while,” he said slowly.
“Frank,” you said again, running forward, into his arms.
This was the first time you two had had any physical contact like this. His arms wrapped around your waist so tightly, you thought he could break your ribs if he wanted to. Your arms were around his neck, your face in his shoulder. Blood was probably staining your shirt, but you didn’t care.
“Do you mind if I wash up a bit?” He asked after you had parted.
“No, of course,” you led him to the bathroom.
That was the last time you saw him. The news said he was dead. Some explosion. It broke your heart.
A few days after the news, you learned it wasn’t true. The experience in your living room when he showed up was heart stopping. You woke up around 11am after another late shift. You shuffled into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee.
“Can I get some of that?” You heard the familiar, gravelly voice say behind you.
You gave him the what-for for scaring you out of your skin. But it ended in tears and gratefulness that he was alive. You had to admit, you had a feeling he was.
He left the next day, saying he had to finish what he had started. You tried to convince him not to, but he was too stubborn.
About a week later, he came back. He told you he had to disappear, go underground. He had changed his name to Pete Castiglione and he said he couldn’t see you anymore since he was technically dead. It stung. It hurt him too, you could see it in his eyes. There was something about his eyes that always had you captivated.
“Frank,” you said quickly as he stood up to leave, after telling you all of this.
He froze.
“What if I came with you?” You knew it sounded crazy, but you felt like Frank was someone you couldn’t live without. You’d known each other maybe a month, but it felt like years. You had a feeling he felt the same way.
He didn’t move, holding his hat with both hands in front of him. You stood up from the couch, turning to face him.
“Tell me you don’t feel like you’ve known me for years, like we were meant to meet.” You said, your face burning with embarrassment as you spoke. “Tell me you want to leave and never see me again. That you could just leave and never look back.” Your voice got caught in your throat.
“Y/N…” Frank whispered, taking a step forward.
“Cause if you tell me that, I’ll let you go. It’ll break my heart, but… I’ll let you go.” You bowed your head, closing your eyes, tears streaming silently down your cheeks. You felt a warm hand grasp your face, so gently. You looked up and was met with those eyes. They were glossy and sad.
“Frank,” You said so quietly.
“I can’t tell you those things, Y/N,” he replied. “I can’t lie to you.”
Your heart sped up as you looked up at him, his thumb grazing your cheek, wiping away fallen tears. You leaned forward, your head resting on his, both of you holding onto the moment with everything you had inside of you.
“I can’t let you go.” You whispered.
“You don’t deserve to live like a dead woman.”
“I’ll be with you.”
“What about your life? Your friends and family?”
“I don’t have any of that.” You told him that your parents were both dead and you didn’t have any other family. And friends were never your strong suit.
“But I—“ Frank continued. “I can’t put you in danger and you deserve so much better than—“
You deserve to be happy, Frank.” You interrupted. “I know you don’t think you do, but you do.”
He was quiet. Standing there, you in front of him, your hands now intertwined in between you, he was in awe of you. He never thought he would feel like this again about someone. To him, you were perfect in every sense of the word.
“Please, Frank,” You stood on your toes and place a kiss on his cheek. Your lips felt the tear that had run down his lightly bruised face.
“You’re gonna have to start calling me, Pete,” he said, and both of you broke into the biggest smiles.
You jumped up into his arms in the tightest hug. Then you pulled away, looking at his sweet face. You both dove in at the same time with a deep kiss. It was full of so much love you both felt like you could burst into a million pieces.
“You are everything, Frank Castle.”
A few weeks passed and you both decided to get married. It was scary and something that was difficult for Frank, you could tell, and you didn’t blame him. But he loved you, simply and hard, so he knew it was right.
You changed your last name and quit your job and began to live a different life. A life away from the internet and the outside world. It was difficult to have to forget about your old life. More difficult than you thought it was going to be. You moved into a much smaller apartment and left everything of yours behind. You were dead after all, and you can’t take your things with you when you die.
You had contacted Karen before everything. She was the only person Frank trusted and you wanted to make sure she knew that you were both okay. She was so happy for you both.
Now here you were, months later, that honestly felt like years. Frank had distanced himself from you and you had curled in on yourself too. Things were rough. The routine was the same and everything was stuck in a time loop.
Frank had cleared his plate, now taking a shower. You turned on the clock radio for some music while you tackled the messy kitchen. Music was a safe place for you and it was nice to at least have the radio to keep you company. Then a love song came on that you adored. It was one of those songs that you can’t help but sway to. Frank came out of the bathroom soon after it started, but you hardly noticed as you were lost in the tune. You were standing over the sink, washing a plate, swaying to the slow beat. You did notice Frank enter the small, kitchen area, but you were caught off guard when he slowly wrapped his arms around your waist from behind. You were stiff for a moment, but quickly softened into his embrace. You laid your head back against his shoulder as you both swayed from side to side, lost in the lyrics.
“You’re my, my, my, my… Lover.”
You felt Frank’s warm breath against your neck. It was so comforting. His arms tightened around you and you dropped the plate in the dish water, moving your soapy hands to on top of Frank’s. This was everything.
The song ended, it wasn’t long enough. You turned to face Frank, looking into his eyes. His eyes. You hadn’t looked at them and gotten that feeling in so long.
“Frank,” you said with your breath, your hand grasping his bearded cheeks.
You felt his hands grasp your hips tightly, and you both leaned in, your lips pressing firmly against each other. Things got a little brighter as the night went on.

Here is another Faye and Spike fanfic. Who else?
DOG DAYS
She was making a hell of a noise, but it's not like she could help it. Her movements were slow and uncoordinated. She crashed into a pile of junk that fell to the ground, she closed her eyes, even under her feet the sound seemed far away.
When she turned around Spike was pointing his Jerico at her. She gave a little gasp, startled, and clutched the first aid kit to her chest. Damn silent idiot. Damn blind idiot who didn't seem to recognize her, suddenly his expression changed completely, as if he was seeing a ghost.
"Will you stop aiming at me? Or are you planning to finish me off like a dying horse?" her voice sounded exhausted. She was. She was also drunk, or at least there were traces of alcohol in her system.
"What the hell happened to you?" he asked annoyed and scanning her as he lowered the gun.
"I had a happy argument with an idiot about the right to speak out " she replied with sarcasm. "f you'll excuse me, I'm very tired and want go to sleep."
She made a couple of steps, clumsy and slow, but her legs didn't feel like cooperating on her way to the room. She was going to fall to the ground and was doubtful that she could extend her arms to stop the impact. She closed her eyes, ready to take the hit of her life, and maybe lose a tooth, all for show.
Luckily Spike's chest broke her fall.
"Oooh," Faye said as she sensed the smell of tobacco and something she couldn't identify, invading her every sense. " That was fast."
" Were you planning on kissing the floor?" Spike asked helping her to stand up.
"I doubt I can extend my arms," she whispered against the yellow fabric of the shirt, inhaling his scent again. "You smell so good..."
"Can you walk?" the sound of Spike's heartbeat against her ear seemed to lull her to sleep.
"I guess, " she pulled away from him.
Each wince was worse than the last. Spike, who hadn't left her side, slipped his arm around her waist and almost carried her into the bedroom.
She sat on the bed with the first aid kit still under her arm and placed it on her lap.
"Are you going to stare at me like that all the time?" Faye asked trying to open the damn box, she wasn't able to, the pain was excruciating, she'd have to add a broken wrist to the list.
Spike seemed to notice, because he snatched it out of her hands.
"You're a fucking mess ," Spike mumbled angrily.
"Don't yell at me."
"I didn't."
"Your voice sounds so loud then...," Faye just wanted him to leave her alone, lick her wounds and sleep until the end of the world came.
"Don't move," he commanded.
"Where do you think I'm going - on a bender?" she grumbled wryly.
"Shut up, Faye."
Spike disappeared from her sight without another word, but she stood very still, staring at the door, which seemed to ripple.
"First you should wipe off all the blood on your face, " she didn't realize Spike had returned until she heard his voice.
Faye reached out her hand tentatively so Spike could pass her the soaked towel he had brought with him. But he came over to her and squatting down, Spike gently began to run it over her forehead, her cheeks, meticulously wiping the already dried blood from her face. She was incapable of saying anything, except to stare at him in disbelief, his mannerisms were delicate and kind, definitions that in her life she would have dared to put next to Spike. Every time she complained, Spike clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Thank you," she whispered as he set the towel aside.
Spike looked at her seriously, as he examined her face closely.
" Now what kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into?"
"I didn't do anything!" she protested angrily.
"I see," he mumbled in exasperation looking her up and down again
"Your jacket is soaked with blood, take it off."
"No," she protested. "It's okay."
"Don't be a baby," he retorted. "Take off your jacket."
She gave him an indignant look, but the way he was staring at her made her nervous. So she decided to listen to him. She put her hand to her zipper, but her arms hurt and she gave up the attempt.
"It hurts," she said rubbing her wrist.
"Fuck Faye," he replied throwing his hand to her zipper.
Anyway, she had been trying to avoid that moment. Spike's eyes widened as he saw her t-shirt torn to shreds.
"Faye..." Spike was looking at her with an intense stare and his hands trembled as he pulled away from her.
"Don't look at me like that, " Faye snapped upset, covering herself with one arm. "It's embarrassing enough that you have to help me."
"Are you okay?" he looked genuinely concerned and made her shiver.
"Yeah...," he sighed. "Nothing happened."
"Sure?"
"Yeah," her eyes filled with tears, but she didn't want to cry in front of him, she took a deep breath trying to pull herself together and shook her shoulders. "Nothing happened, it was just a horrible night."
" All right... Where's all this blood coming from? Where did you get hurt?" he pulled the jacket away from her shoulders looking for open wounds.
"The blood isn't mine," Faye muttered through her teeth.
Spike looked at her again in that indecipherable way while helping her take off her jacket.
"Do you want to put something else on?" he asked looking in horror at the bruises on her arms.
"Yes, please," she was half naked, covered in blood and terribly tired, she couldn't imagine any worse situation. "Can you bring me another shirt? In the drawers there's got to be some."
Spike stood up, moving over to the closet as she pulled off the tatters of her shirt and finished cleaning herself.
"I cut his throat," Faye finally said looking at the blood stained towel, everything around her seemed blurry, the only vision she was able to focus on was that damn towel. . " He...I couldn't get him off me, he was so much stronger than me..... I had never seen so much blood..."
"He deserved it," he replied earnestly, passing her the shirt.
"Yes..."
Faye felt like crying again when she found herself unable to dress herself. Her ribs ached, everything ached.
"Leave it to me," before she could protest Spike was already pulling the T-shirt over her head and helping to put it on. "I have to examine your wrist."
"I know..."
Spike held her arm gently and sighed in frustration. She tried her best not to complain but the truth was that it hurt like hell. Spike bit his lips angrily as he patted along the length of her arm. The bruises looked really shocking in contrast to the pallor of her skin.
"It's not broken," he said as he rifled through the bandages in the kit until he found a new bundle. After placing a piece of metal to keep it straight, he bandaged it tight. "You should hold it up."
She tried to smile as he began to put away the rest of the bandages in the first aid kit. Spike didn't look at her, he was focused on tidying each and every item inside.
"I've got a anti-bruise cream, it's pretty good..." Spike said with his eyes fixed on the box.
He stood up again and left her alone in the room. She flopped down on the bed exhausted, letting sleep overcome her for good.
When Faye opened her eyes again, she was inside the sheets, but she didn't remember taking off her shoes or getting into them. Bringing the hands to her face, she discovered a pair of band-aids over her eyebrow and cheek. The pot of cream was on her bedside table. Faye sat up and spread the cream as best she could over her arm. She got out of bed, she was thirsty and the pain was worse than before she went to sleep.
She went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. There was a dim light in the living room, Spike was watching TV in the dark. He turned to look at her. He was inscrutable, she couldn't decipher what he was thinking. She smiled tiredly at him, but he didn't move a muscle in his face.
"Did I wake you up?" Spike asked turning down the volume on the TV.
"No, I was thirsty," she replied raising the glass full of water.
She didn't feel like being alone, but she didn't know whether to stay or not.
"How are you?" he asked, offering a hand towards her.
Her heart skipped a beat and she froze. He blinked as if waking from a dream and withdrew his hand.
Faye sat down next to him and picked up the pack of cigarettes from the table, it was hard to maneuver with only one hand. She bit into the cigarette and before she tried to reach for the lighter the flame appeared before her eyes. She smiled frankly and Spike smiled back.
"What are you watching?" she asked full of curiosity.
"Boxing."
"Oh," she settled back on the couch as best she could. Spike watched her out of the corner of his eye. She heard him sigh and look back at the screen.
The boxing match broke for the news. They had found the body, Faye felt the air around her thicken, her attacker was a notorious criminal. She could barely hear the broadcaster over the pounding of her heart. He had been put in jail for torturing, raping and murdering six women. He'd escaped a few days ago. Spike reached for the TV remote.
"No," her hand was shaking but she still wouldn't let him change the channel.
Faye didn't realize she was crying until she felt the tears on her lips.
"You don't have to watch this crap," Spike said turning off the TV.
Not sure if she had heard him correctly, Faye was only aware of her heart beating. She tried to fill her lungs with air, but failed.
"Faye?"
She couldn't breathe, she put her hands to her chest and dug her nails in, as if she could tear her skin off to make way for oxygen.
"Breathe," Spike held her by the shoulders, forcing her to look him in the eyes. "It's all over."
She couldn't speak, couldn't stop crying. She hugged Spike who ran his hands through her hair and placed them on her back. She was choking, she tried to catch her breath again, but all she managed was an agonized whimper. Spike pulled away from her. His confused and panicked expression made her even more frightened.
"Please, Faye, breathe," he cupped her face with both hands. "Don't fuck with me, do it very carefully, slowly."
Spike took a slow breath, not taking his eyes off her. She focused on the small change in hue between his eyes as he tried to mimic Spike's slow, methodical breaths. Tears were still slipping down her face, but she felt herself regaining control. Spike wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled, resting his forehead against hers.
" That' s right," his voice sounded calm. "That's it, a little at a time."
Faye rested her head on Spike's shoulder and closed her eyes, while he kept stroking her hair. Her heartbeat didn't seem to calm down, yet she was able to breathe. She felt Spike wrap his arms around her, pulling her closer. Spike radiated a cozy, pleasant warmth, that comforted her. Faye was grateful for his silence and the way he ran his fingers through her hair. She was grateful he let her cry and that he was there. She let out a barely inaudible "thank you" against his chest. She heard him swallow and laugh nervously. He squeezed her in his arms before releasing her.
"Will you be able to breathe on your own or are you tricking me into giving you mouth-to-mouth?" Spike joked as he gave her one of his unmistakable smiles.
"Ha! You wish you could put your lips on mine," she replied looking sideways at him and plopping down on the back of the couch.
"I quit boxing?" he asked casually turning the TV back on.
"Not a chance, there's a show about cosmetic operations gone wrong on channel 93, put it on."
"I'm not putting that crap on."
"Give me the remote, Spiegel."
"Over my dead body, Romani."

boreal star ✵ chapter seven
with alina in the wind, general kirigan now has scramble to find her. the only person he has to get through is you.
series genre: romance & angst
series pairing: [past?] aleksander morozova (general kirigan) x reader
word count: 1.5k
warning(s): suggestive?
here’s the masterlist
when you regained consciousness, you attempted to open your eyes, quickly shutting them after being met with blinding lights. you felt aches all over your body. cold intrusions weighted your wrists as you shifted them, accompanied by the clanking of chains. you could hear the bustling crowds outside, conversations about the famed general kirigan being in kribirsk. the wind kissed your cheeks red when several masses moved into wherever you were being held (you presumed a tent).
“get up.”
not carrying for the tone, you pretended to sleep. after several moments passed, your chains were yanked. you fell onto the floor, your muscles pulsating in pain.
“what a lovely wake-up call.” you wrestled against the hands grabbing at you and, when you lost, were forced to sit up. “you know, i usually get to know someone before getting rough. we all have our kinks i suppose.”
a high-pitched giggle rang before it was muffled (not very well though). with a cleared throat, it ceased completely. you slowly opened your eyes to observe the room. a total of five bodies: zoya, ivan, a palace guard, a durast, and aleksander. you’ve gotten out with higher odds stacked against you.
“tell me where they went.”
you rolled your eyes and smirked. “unfortunately for you, my dear general, i’ve only sent them off. just told them to run far from ravka.”
your former lover glanced at ivan who shrugged. he breathed in deeply, clenching his fists. he squatted in front of you and called out to his subordinates. “leave us.”
one by one, they left the tent, zoya hovering by the opening with a nasty look on her face. you looked at her and winked. her lips curled into a sneer before she huffed away.
you returned your attention to aleksander who took the opportunity to come closer to you. you leaned back but failed, closed in by a bench. you watched as his hands rested on your knees. you tried to shake them off only for him to grip tighter as they climbed your legs. you met his half-lidded eyes, thrown off by the (scandalously) familiar gaze.
“what the hell do you think you’re doing?” you said, your eyes darting from his eyes to his lips.
a lazy smile took residence on his face, his tongue flitting across his bottom lip. “did you not miss it?”
feeling very confused and slightly mortified, you tilted your head away from him. “miss what?” you asked.
“our rendezvouses. how you could have me groveling at your feet with a simple touch. how i begged to use my mouth to please you,” he whispered. he rested his hands, kneading your inner thighs.
you scoffed. “did alina rejecting your advances give you brain damage? you really thought i would—”
your words were swallowed when his lips meshed with yours. you would be lying if it didn’t make you have butterflies. after being apart for years, you couldn’t tell if it felt right or nostalgic. stopping yourself from getting lost in the feeling, you shoved him away with your bounded wrists and bolted up. aleksander stumbled back, looking bewildered and distant.
“how dare you?” you spat. “trying to seduce me again for your stupid ambitions? let me be very clear, aleksander. you may have fooled me once, but there will not be a second time.”
you snorted and shook your head, a flurry of emotions rising in you.
“for thirty years, i wondered why i wasn’t enough for you? for fate? did i not follow you faithfully? did i not hang off your every word? did i not love you more than my own life?!”
furious tears welled as you heaved heavily. aleksander was still, his mouth parted, looking as if he wanted to say something. you couldn’t afford to give him the chance anymore. the stitches in your heart were breaking at the seams.
“i hated the world for so long for not giving me the powers you desired. i hated myself over things i couldn’t control. i knew for months that i was not your fated, your wistful destiny, but i stayed. i hoped that your words were empty and you said those things in a drunken stupor, but they say drunken words are sober thoughts. i was a fool to wish otherwise.
“the day i left was the day i stopped allowing myself to mourn over the fact that you were no longer mine. i finally saw my worth and decided that i would love someone else who would too.” you wiped away the tears that fell, then closed your eyes to prevent more from falling.
“did you?”
“what?” you whispered tiredly.
you heard him shuffle to stand, his shoes dragging against the carpet. “did you find someone else to love?” he weakly asked.
you made the mistake of opening your eyes. you took in his appearance—his red, glossy eyes that bore into you and the subtle way his frame wilted. you couldn’t decide whether to scoff at the audacity of him, acting as if he was the victim, or cry at the sight of his regretful posture. even through everything, a small part of you desperately wanted to believe him and embrace him, but you knew you couldn’t—that you shouldn’t.
“i did,” you said, avoiding his eyes.
“oh,” he breathed. “are you still...”
“we parted ways prior to my being here.”
he hummed softly and looked to the sky—like he was praying to the saints. “what if... i was being sincere? would you give me a chance to prove it?”
a scoff left you in disbelief, bitterness coating your voice. “you continuing to pursue your delusions is proof enough for me.”
with longing eyes, he stepped closer to you and captured your hands in his. he bent his neck to level with you. “what i’m doing… what i have been doing for the past five-hundred years… it’s all been to make ravka safer, to make grisha safer, to make you safer.”
you turned away, your will to not fall fading, only for him to tilt your chin towards him. he cradled your face in his palm, brushing away stray tears. “please, [y/n]. i admit, i made one of the biggest mistakes in my life not searching for you. i believed that you were a placeholder, someone to keep me satisfied until the sun summoner came. when you left, i realized how wrong i was.
“every single day, for 30 years, you were my first and last thought. how are they? are they safe? i hope no harm has come to them. [y/n], when you appeared before the king, you don’t understand how relieved i was to see you. at first, i was angry and spiteful at you for leaving me alone, but, as time passed and we fell into routine, my love resurfaced and won.”
you chuckled. “and what would you have me believe alina was? i saw it in your eyes at the winter fete. the same affection i once thought you held for me.”
“the winter fate?” he paused before smiling. “[y/n], you must’ve caught me thinking of you wearing that kefta.”
you grabbed his wrist and pulled it away from your face, the heavy chains grounding you. “you must think me stupid to believe that.”
then, aleksander looked grief-stricken. he fell onto his knees, his lips ghosting over your hands. “what do i have to do to make you believe me, [y/n]?”
you offered a sad smile. “destroy the fold… then, and only then, will i believe that your words aren’t pretty lies to trick me into complying.”
you turned as much as the chains could afford you. “please leave me be,” you whispered.
it felt like eons before you heard him move away. “there will be an expedition through the fold tomorrow. we are to escort foreign diplomats. so, rest up.”
wind rushed back into the tent as he left. once the tent flapped shut, you sank into the ground. tears streamed down your face as you pounded your chest, trying to relieve some of the sorrow. you hated yourself for even hoping that some of what aleksander said was true. you hated that, unlike what you wished to be, you were still easily manipulated by his charms.
i hate that i can’t hate you.
—
unbeknownst to you, aleksander’s heart was rabid and his duplicity dissolved, almost like the kiss was a rush of cold water. he couldn’t find it in himself to deceive you—or himself—anymore.
at first, he was attempting to seduce you. but, when he had kissed you… it was like all those years without you were unreal. it was like he hadn’t lived in the moments where you weren’t there by his side. it was like he could finally let go of the breath he never knew he was holding.
he was a blind man who was given the gift of sight, a deaf man given the wonders of hearing.
he had never felt more stupid in his life. he already had his equal. [y/n] was there, presiding over his heart, and he was an idiot to believe what he felt for them was something akin to complacency.
“general kirigan!”
blinking, he looked up to see ivan running towards him. he raised an eyebrow questioningly.
the heartrender stopped by his side, leaning closer. “we found the sun summoner and the stag. should we bring them in?”
aleksander glanced back at your tent, then turned away ashamed. “bring them unharmed. bring the tracker too.”

Enough | Shawn Mendes x Reader
Alright y’all here’s one of my dusty old docs I happened to stumble across in my every-now-and-again clean up of Google Docs. Just as a disclaimer, I wrote this in 2018 so no one is allowed to judge me for this, okay? Okay.
Words: 3.0k
Warnings: Panic/anxiety attack (though it’s presented differently than the majority I’ve seen), some angst, Shawn being stupid, crying
-Masterlist-
E N O U G H :
How’d studio go?
You were hesitant to send the text but did it anyway. You hoped for a positive response, but with the way things had been lately it was highly unlikely. Still, you so badly wanted to give Shawn the benefit of the doubt so you decided you would wait until his response proved you differently. After two hours had passed and he still hadn’t replied, however, you got your answer, and the benefit of the doubt quickly fizzled away.
Shawn wasn’t one to just not answer you, but lately it’d been more and more reoccurring. It wasn’t that he didn’t care or that he was angry at you; it was that he cared too much and was angry at himself. You still remembered when Shawn called you after a studio day a while back, disappointed that he hadn’t managed to find any sort of inspiration. You didn’t know it then, but that was only the first of many uninspired days he’d be facing over the next several months.
The boy hid it well—the self-hatred and frustration—but you saw things that others didn’t. You were the one who saw the dark rings under his eyes before he had the chance to cover them up. You were the one who spent countless nights with him on the phone, trying and failing to reassure him that it was all right he was feeling this way and that it happened to all writers at some point. You were the one who brought him coffee with an extra shot of espresso each morning because you knew if you didn’t he would fall asleep in the middle of warm-ups.
Shawn was going to crash soon, and not in the metaphorical sense; he was going to mentally crash. In a way, he already had. But you had a feeling that these past months were going to catch up to him, the meaningless guitar strums and pointless piano chords adding up to be one too many, and he was going to crash. Hard. You just had to make sure you were there when he did.
Lucky for you your apartment wasn’t too far from his, that way when he called and asked you to come over because he needed you (and vice-versa), you could be there in five minutes or less. It hadn’t been purposeful, the close addresses, but it worked out. And you were happy it did, as there’d been numerous times the short distance was used to your advantage in emergency situations—such as the time you made cookies and wanted to surprise Shawn with them while they were still hot.
Your phone buzzed from the coffee table, startling you from your half-conscious state. You rubbed your eyes and your hand fumbled to pick up your phone.
Same.
You sighed. Somehow you knew that while you’d been relaxing in your apartment watching cheesy movies and almost dozing off, Shawn had been sitting staring at blank sheets of music in an apartment that was entirely silent apart from the experimental chords he’d strum and immediately nix.
Before you could even think, your fingers were making the appropriate movements to call Shawn. It rang a few times, the soft sound making your eyes droop again.
“Hey, it’s Shawn!”
Shawn’s voice snapped you awake and you shook your head at yourself, frustrated that you’d almost fallen asleep when he clearly needed someone to talk to.
“Hey Shawn, you oka-“
“I’m busy right now, but leave a message and I’ll be sure to call you back.”
You blinked a couple times, the switch from your boyfriend's voice to the teller machine making you stumble. You quickly hung up before a voicemail could be recorded and tried calling again, but you only got the same result.
There was no reason he shouldn’t be answering his phone when he’d texted you back only a minute ago.
An unsettling feeling washed over you and you scrambled up from the couch to find your shoes and throw on your cardigan. It was below freezing outside but you didn’t care enough to spend the extra time finding a coat and warmer clothes; besides, it was a short walk to Shawn’s place.
You called again. This time when the teller came on instructing you to leave a message after the beep, you did.
“Hey bub, you’re really starting to worry me. I’ve been calling but you haven’t picked up, and I know you have me as an emergency contact; I know my calls are going through. So, I’m coming over. Right now, actually. Hang tight, okay? I’ll be there in a few.”
You were in such a rush that you hardly even noticed the cold. You were sure you’d feel it after you sorted everything out with Shawn, but until then it had no place in your mind.
The receptionist didn’t question your presence in Shawn’s building, quite used to your late night visits, although she did look a bit concerned; you always made sure to bundle up this time of year and never went upstairs without flashing her a smile and quick hello, but now you did both, sprinting to the elevator and maneuvering the buttons to work as quick as possible.
You didn’t bother knocking when you got to Shawn’s door, instead pulling out the key he’d given you months ago and using that to unlock it. At first you heard nothing when you stepped in, making you painfully aware of your racing heart.
“Shawn?” you called out cautiously, not wanting to do anything that could possibly scare him off. You stepped further in to find the living room and kitchen clean as usual, but no Shawn. As you travelled further into the apartment your uneasiness grew stronger. “Shawn, where are-“
A mix between a shout and a groan came from the bedroom and you quickly sprinted to the area, finding that the sound had come from inside the closed—and locked—bathroom door.
“Shawn, it’s Y/N. Please open the door, baby,” you said calmly, gently.
“Get out!” he suddenly yelled after you’d made a couple more attempts.
“I’m not leaving, Shawn-“
“Get out, Y/N!”
“Shawn,” you stated firmly, not being thrown off by his irrational anger. “Open the door.”
A loud bang sounded as Shawn slammed his fist against the door, making you jump. But your resolve still wasn’t weakening.
“Leave me alone!”
“You do realize I’ll stay here all night, right?” you said truthfully. Even if he stayed angry the entire time you were here, you would much prefer it over silence. At least with anger you knew what he was doing; silence could mean anything.
“I’ll call security!” he shouted.
“With what phone?” you asked, having seen his supposed phone on the floor by his bed. Your point made him stumble for just a moment as you weren’t usually the type to fight fire with fire, but somehow you knew that tonight it might be the only way to get through to him.
“You’re trespassing!” Shawn tried.
Fire it was.
“You mean on the property you gave me a key to and never asked for back?”
Shawn paused again—only for a second. “Can’t you live your own life for once instead of following me around like some lost puppy?” he jabbed. “I don’t need your help, Y/N!”
His words that were meant to extinguish the fire only fueled it, and before you could tell yourself to stop you raised your fist and banged hard against the door like he had—so hard that your hand ached. But it had gotten his attention; you could tell due to the sudden silence on the other side of the door.
“Shawn,” you said, speaking quieter but still with unwavering tenacity. “I’m not leaving.”
The next few minutes were silent yet deafening. Just as you were about to open your mouth and say something else, a resounding shatter filled the air. You instinctively flinched and felt your heart drop when you realized what had happened.
Shawn had broken the mirror.
You snapped into action, grabbing a pair of socks and shoes from Shawn’s closet then knocking on the bathroom door again, hoping beyond hope that that was the peak of his episode and it was all downhill from here.
“Baby, please open the door.”
You breathed a quiet sigh of relief when you heard an answering click and carefully pushed the door open, taking in the sight of glass fragments scattered amongst the floor with Shawn right in the middle of it, looking unphased and too caught up in his own head to notice the mess he’d made.
“Shawn.”
He turned to look at you, his cheeks flushed and his hair a mess from constantly pulling at it. Your heart broke and you so badly wanted to reach out and wrap him in a hug, but that probably wasn’t the best move right now considering the circumstances so you held back, instead offering him the socks and shoes.
“Put these on and try to avoid stepping on the shards, okay? Go lay down. I’ll clean this up.”
While he didn’t show any reaction to your instructions, he did as you told him, carefully slipping on the footwear and treading out of the bathroom to his bed.
It took a bit of time to clean up the glass, especially when it came to scooping it out of the sink and off the countertop, but you did it, sweeping it several times to ensure there were no shards left behind. It was only when you’d finished the task, put the broom back, and dumped the glass in the trash that you went to Shawn.
He was sitting up now, his legs hanging off the side of the bed and his feet bare of the amenities you’d provided him just minutes ago. Unsure of how to go about the situation, you sat on the floor in front of him and reached for his hand. He let you have it, and you were surprised to see he only had a few shallow cuts from the breakage. You decided you’d deal with those later. For now, though, you needed to deal with the mental wounds.
You sat in silence, trying desperately to find the right words to say to get Shawn to talk to you. Lucky for you, though, you didn’t have to.
“I-I didn’t mean what I said,” Shawn said, his voice hoarse and cracking. “Any of it—all of it. I didn’t mean it.”
“I know,” you replied quietly, tracing the lines of his palm.
Shawn swallowed and shook his head, his free hand clenching into a fist. “I don’t know why I did it. I was just so-so angry and I couldn’t stop and I just…” He trailed off, his eyes laden with the self-hatred he’d been guarding from sight all these months. His eyes shut as if he knew what you‘d spotted and his head tilted away from you.
“Hey,” you said softly, interlacing his fingers with yours and working with his other hand to do the same. “Look at me.”
It took awhile but eventually Shawn complied. His eyes were red-rimmed and watery, so sad and so genuinely upset that it made your own eyes water.
You physically watched as all of the burden Shawn had been carrying around suddenly came down on him, his shoulders dropping and every muscle in his body relaxing to the point where he was falling forward. You jumped to your feet, catching his weight and pulling him into your mid-section. A broken sob left his lips, and you were quick to hold him firmly against your chest as you played with his tangled curls.
You let him cry, let his wounded hands twist into your shirt even when it rose up and exposed your abdomen, let his tears and dribbles of blood soak through the thin fabric of the only clothing you had with you. Because this was the breakdown. This was the crash.
You resisted shushing Shawn like you would a crying child, knowing that if you didn’t let him break then he wouldn’t be able to build himself back up—as much as it hurt you to watch. “I’ve got you, bub,” you whispered instead. “I’m here.”
Eventually Shawn’s tears slowed but he didn’t move, allowing you to continue your soothing touches and calming words. His hands slowly moved from your shirt to your waist, his fingers tracing patterns along the bare skin there. You felt him frown and he tilted his head up, looking at you concernedly.
“You’re freezing.”
You rolled your eyes with a small smile. It drove you crazy sometimes how utterly selfless he was, but you’d be lying if you said it wasn’t one of your favorite traits of his—one of the traits that drew you to him in the first place. “I’m fine, Shawn.”
“Did you wear a coat?” he insisted.
“No, I-“ You stopped at his disapproving look and exhaled. “I am fine, Shawn. It’s you I’m worried about, not me.”
Your words seemed to chase him away, as he rigidly pulled back into a sitting position and moved his eyes away from yours at the remark. You sighed and took a seat next to him, looking at your dangling feet versus his solidly planted ones before taking his hand again and guiding him to look at you.
“Talk to me, Shawn,” you simply said, your voice the gentlest you could make it.
He took a deep breath, letting it escape heavily through his nose. “I feel so pathetic.”
“Why?” you prodded, and when he shook his head you softly reminded him, “Bub, it’s just me.”
It took awhile for him to open up, but you stayed patient. You watched him as he formed the words in his head, trying to figure it out just as much as you were.
“I’m supposed to be making music,” Shawn started quietly. “I know how pathetic I look each time I walk out of the studio with nothing more than what I brought in. Everyone’s waiting on me, expecting me to do something. It’s been months—months—and I’ve got nothing. I’ve done three albums back to back with no problem, I’ve done countless shows and tours and festival runs, but I have nothing now. No music, no ideas, no inspiration—nothing. And...and it makes me nothing.”
You paused. “If having nothing makes you nothing,” you said, choosing your words carefully, “then why am I here right now?”
Shawn didn’t reply, training his eyes away from you and to the wall in front of him. You could see you’d simultaneously struck a chord with him and backed him into a corner; the only way Shawn could reply was either by telling you he didn’t know, which you both knew was false, or with self-deprecating reasoning, which you wouldn’t let slide for a second.
You swallowed, knowing your next words would be extremely controversial. “Have you ever thought that maybe this is your mind’s way of telling you it’s time to take a break?”
Shawn immediately tensed, his head snapping back to you. “I am taking a break,” he argued.
“No, you’re not,” you said, keeping your composure. “You’re working yourself twice as much as normal. You barely sleep, you hardly eat or drink anything other than what I give you, you never have the ‘time’ to hang out with me or your friends anymore, your mental health is spiralling-“ You quickly came to a stop, watching the fight you’d just recently seen in Shawn’s eyes begin to drain again at the last item on your list. “Shawn, I don’t know what taking a break means to you,” you began, “but to me it means letting go of your responsibilities—letting them disappear to the back of your mind where you won’t have to see them for awhile. It means relaxing, not worrying about deadlines or expectations or anything else remotely pressuring.”
Shawn was quiet, letting your words soak in. You and everyone else (including his fans) agreed it was time he took a break, but getting Shawn to agree himself was a whole other challenge.
“I just…” He struggled for a moment, fiddling with his fingers and looking down. “I just feel like I’m not enough.”
There it is, you thought sadly.
You gently grasped his chin and moved it until he was looking at you again. He looked so vulnerable, and you knew that whatever you said in the next moment could break him if you weren’t careful.
“Shawn Peter Raul Mendes,” you breathed, “I promise you on all the stars in the world that you are and always will be enough. And if I have to promise you that every day for the rest of my life, I will. You are enough, Shawn, and the day you aren’t is the day tomorrow never comes.”
His eyes filled with tears again. He grabbed you and pulled you into his lap, burying his head in the crook of your neck and hugging you so tightly you could barely breathe.
“You’re everything to me, Y/N,” he whispered. “I don’t know what I would do without you.”
You couldn’t help but smile as you carded your fingers through his tangled hair. “Probably break another mirror.”
Shawn let out a choked laugh, his breath giving you goosebumps. He squeezed you tighter and placed a soft kiss on your shoulder. “Please don’t leave,” he whispered. “I love you so much, Y/N. I’m so in love with you, I’m sorry.”
“I love you too, Shawn,” you said, trying to hide the lump you now had in your throat. “I’m so in love with you, too. I’m not leaving, I promise.”
You held on to each other like that until the wee hours of the morning where you fell asleep in a different position but still curled up just the same. And when you woke up and were met with Shawn’s sleeping face and gentle snoring, you realized that you wanted to wake up to that every day for the rest of your life.
As if he could hear your thoughts, Shawn subconsciously hugged you closer, his lips upturned in a soft smile.
“You are enough, Shawn Peter Raul Mendes,” you whispered, prepared to mark today as the first day of the promise you’d make to him every day from now until forever. “I promise on all the stars in the world.”
