The fact that Logan Paul still has a platform after everything he has done is beyond me. Posing next to a Japanese man hanging lifeless out of a tree just to hire a crisis team and come back stronger than before with a phony, scripted apology is wild. Add the fact that Logan is Northern American, and the whole story suddenly becomes even more eerie, as if it were even possible. It reminds me of the story behind the song "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday.
The break he took after uploading that cursed video was basically a vacation where he got the chance to rest, reset, brainstorm new ideas, revamp his life, train for a new career, and learn about business while still getting paid. If that was not "energy harvesting", I don't know what it was. And now he's heading to billion-dollar status as a businessman. He deserved to be permanently banned from YouTube and to lose any chance to make money on any other platform. Life is unfair, but that's nothing new.
To this day I'm shocked he was able to have a comeback after the stunt he pulled in Japan. Unbelievable! But I guess fairness and equality don't exist for the rich

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul Go the Distance in Eight-Round Exhibition

MIAMI, FL – The Hard Rock Stadium played host to the in-ring return of all-time boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He would make his return against YouTube and social media star Logan Paul in an eight-round exhibition. There would be no judges for the fight; however, knockouts were allowed at the referee's discretion. The exhibition would feature three-minute rounds with both fighters wearing 10 oz. Gloves.
Paul would be the biggest opponent Mayweather has faced via exhibition or professionally, outweighing the older fighter by over 30 pounds, standing at 6’2 and being 18 years younger at 26.
Mayweather’s first exhibition bout took place over two years ago in December 2018, when he scored a first-round knockout over Japan’s Tenshin Nasukawa, scoring three knockdowns before the match was stopped.
The first round started extremely slow, with Mayweather reserving himself to fight on the back foot using his defensive skills to slip all of Paul’s punches. However, in the last 10 seconds of the first round, Paul unloaded a barrage of punches on Mayweather, slipping a few shots through the boxing master’s guard.
In the third round, Mayweather came out of his defensive shell and began to walk down the bigger Paul. Mayweather landed a few counter punches, including a left hook on the inside that sent Paul back.
While Mayweather was becoming more aggressive, he was beginning to pot-shot Paul with single punches. He was throwing his left hook with the intention of hurting Paul, possibly looking for a knockout.
For the vast majority of the exhibition, the match pattern stayed the same, with each round being the same as the next.
Mayweather was unable to hurt Paul or knock him down seriously, and the YouTube star was unable to mount an effective offensive attack.
However, the fact that Paul lasted the full eight-round distance gave him a moral victory.
“I don’t want anyone to tell me anything is impossible ever again,” Paul stated in his post-fight interview with Showtime. “The fact that I got in here with one of the greatest boxers of all time, it proves the odds can be beat. Anyone can beat the odds and do great things in life. This is one of the greatest nights of my life.
“It’s an honor to share the ring with Floyd. He’s one of the GOATs. This is one of the coolest things ever.”
Mayweather, for his part, did not take the exhibition seriously and used it as a vehicle to once make a large amount of money and once again be in the spotlight.
“I had fun tonight,” said Mayweather. “I thank all the fans who came out; you’re all unbelievable.”

Stop Supporting logan paul
First off I’m going to start this with a big trigger warning for suicide and talk of Aokigahara.
Aokigahara is the actual name of what most people call “suicide forest” and what i will be calling it throughout this post.
Recently I’ve been seeing more people supporting logan paul again. As of when I’m posting this it has been exactly two years since logan paul posted the video he took in aokigahara. I know some people don’t like “cancel culture” and want to move on from people’s mistakes but I urge you not to forget this. His actions have caused real tangible harm. I used to live in a small town near aokigahara and while I never actually went to the forest I did attempt suicide while I was living there. Despite never going to the forest the proximity to it has forever linked it and my attempt for me. So when logan paul posted his video about a year and a half later I was instantly reminded of what I’d done and it was horribly triggering. Even so I tried to speak out about it as much as possible and try to bring attention to how truly awful his actions were. I had no support system and soon I was back in the same state I was when I was still living in Japan. I ended up deleting all apps off my phone to try and avoid the story but it was absolutely everywhere and I couldn’t avoid it offline either. At some point I couldn’t take it anymore and it seemed that there was no escape and I ended up attempting suicide again.
I am doing a lot better now. I have a solid support system and professional help for my mental health. However, I’m still struggling and frequently have delusions that I did die and I’m now a ghost. This is the real damage that logan paul has done and I will not move on and I will not forgive him. Say what you will about cancel culture but we cannot allow someone who thinks these things are okay to have a platform and to continue to get rich off of selling merch to children and fighting another youtuber. And as much as I want to see someone beat the shit out of him he made bank off that fight with KSI and through watching that you’re supporting him.
He filmed that video, edited it, and posted it without thinking that maybe there might be something wrong with that. And now I’m still suffering from that decision. Do not support logan paul.

i wish i could be as excited by james charles’ downfall as everyone else, i just don’t really have any hope that this will hurt him long term?
like, i fucking hate james charles and i'd love to see him go down as much as anyone, but, just for example - the logan paul / japan scandal, which the general public actually cared about and was furious about (which is more than i can say about most beauty guru community drama), didn't bring down logan paul. he's still gaining subscribers to this day. he took a temporary hit followed by a steady gain. he still has fans, he’s still selling merch, he’s still making ridiculous amounts of money because there’s apparently no justice in this world.
if that scandal didn't destroy his career, then there's no way this drama will destroy james, especially since this scandal is smaller scale than that (like, wow, shocking, james charles is a backstabbing asshole, who would’ve thought?), and james’ fandom is comparable in size to logan’s, even currently (nearly 16 million, to logan’s 19 million). he's gonna be hurt by this for the moment, and then either bounce back like normal or actually benefit from the increased attention.
i would LOVE to be proven wrong, truly. it’s just hard for me to believe - especially since, like, james charles has been exposed as an asshole (and a racist… and a transphobe i think?… and a self-obsessed liar… etc) countless times. this particular time has been more impactful, yeah, but as long as he has his core base of young, impressionable fans, i don’t see anything taking him down anytime soon :/. these people are like cockroaches - they won’t fucking die.
genuinely hope i’m wrong here though

Logan Paul
youtube
I did some research for that Coffe Shop AU fic I did last month, because I got it in my head to set it in Japan, and I wanted to make sure I got Japan right, or at least right enough that it wouldn’t be super-obviously wrong.    The last time I tried to write anything set in Japan was when I tried to write Tenchi Muyo! fics, and I quickly realized I had no idea what I was doing, so I noped all the characters into outer space, where I could make stuff up.
But that was 19 years ago, and now we have YouTube, with tons of videos about travel and tourism and local custom.    I often regard YouTube with contempt, but I have to be honest, it’s a bigger part of my life than I want to admit.   YouTube taught me how to change the headlights on my old Pontiac G6; it lets me watch all the good parts of Star Wars on-demand, and it taught me not to eat while walking around town in Japan.
Anyway, now I get recommended all these videos about Japan, and they’re kind of fun to watch.   I checked out one about capsule hotels, because I could never tell if those were are really good or really bad idea.   I’m at least satisfied now that I could fit in one of those things if I needed to use one.   Then I came across this video about Logan Paul.
In case you’re not familiar with him, Logan Paul is the jackass vlogger who decided to do his show in Japan for a little while, and while he was there he found a dead body in a forest and filmed it.   This drew international outrage, and from what I understand his popularity nosedived afterward.    I didn’t pay much attention to his story at the time, because there’s a million jackass vloggers on YouTube, and it struck me that the only thing special about him was that he had the budget to fly to Japan, and the celebrity to actually get in trouble for doing something offensive.
Then I watched this video about him on Totally Not Mark’s channel.   It’s no longer there for some reason, but back in September he made this “mini-documentary” about Logan Paul’s attempt to stage some sort of comeback.   As I recall, the basic idea is that Logan’s really, really sorry for offending everyone, but he wants to be a famous YouTube celebrity again, so he’s going to do.... something... and return to his former prominence.   And he’s got a film crew making a documentary out of this quest, so that if he ever succeeds, he can put out this feel-good redemption story.
The problem is that no one knows what the hell he’s supposed to do to get people to like him again.  I mean, I’m sure he still has fans today, but not as many as he did before, and he seems to want to just hit a reset button and go back to the way things were pre-Japan.   According to Totally Not Mark’s now-deleted video, all he seemed to be coming up with were various sports events for charity.    He had a couple of boxing matches against fellow YouTuber KSI, although I don’t know that either of those fights were for charity.    Judging from his Wikipedia article, he doesn’t seem to be doing anything particularly different from before.    Mark seemed to genuinely think he might have a shot at redemption, even if the path forward isn’t obvious.
I found the whole idea kind of stupid.   Redemption isn’t about celebrities becoming celebrities again.   If Logan Paul learned a lesson from the consequences of his actions, if he reflects on his bad behavior and takes steps to be a better person, then great, but that doesn’t mean he gets a free pass from the public.    He had an act, and people bought into it for a while, and then he took it too far and it backfired on him.   There’s some things in life you can’t undo.   Watching Mark’s mini-documentary suggested to me that Paul still hasn’t figured this out, probably because he never understood how he got so famous in the first place.    It just sort of fell into his lap before, so he doesn’t understand how he lost it, or how it’s not something he can just recreate at will.
Anyway, that brings me back to the video above, by “That Japanese Man Yuta”.   In it, he discusses all the other videos Paul made during his visit to Japan.    The video in the forest was taken down, and Paul made a video apologizing for that one, but all these other videos paint a bigger picture of a guy who basically made it his business to wander around in a foreign country and make an ass out of himself.  He horsed around in religious sites, places of business, in the middle of traffic, and pretty much anywhere else he pleased.   As far as I can tell, the joke was one of two things.   Either it was “Hey, I’m pestering these people and they just sort of stand around and let me!” or “Hey, I’m doing the same nonsense I usually do, only this time it’s in Japan!”
Yuta takes the time to explain exactly why Paul’s behavior is so disrespectful, but it really isn’t even an issue of Japanese culture specifically.    I wouldn’t want him doing that crap in any country, including the U.S.   Seriously, imagine if he went into a church and just started throwing coins around.     Imagine if he went to a big city and ran around in a costume in the middle of an intersection.  There’s a scene where he waves around a raw fish in public, then he gets bored with it and leaves it on the back of a taxi cab.   That might be funny in a cartoon, or some fictional comedy, but he’s doing all this “XD lol random” crap around real people who aren’t even remotely in on the joke.   Really, the joke seems to be nothing more than “Look these bystanders have no idea what I’m doing and they’re confused and annoyed by my antics.”    Then he praises the Japanese people for being “so nice”, as if they’re being good sports about the whole thing.    Well no, they were just tolerating his behavior, and even if they were being “nice” that doesn’t make his behavior right.
And that’s why his “redemption arc” is doomed to failure.    What Paul doesn’t seem to get is that the same man-child shenanigans that got him in trouble were also responsible for his rise to stardom.    There’s not some magic formula where he can keep doing his old routine and control people’s reaction to it.    And he can’t reinvent himself because the goofball persona was the only thing that made him a big deal.  No one got into this guy because he’s a good athlete.   They want to watch him dress up in stupid costumes and throw shit at people.     Only that’s no longer tenable, so I’d say his only choice is to accept whatever fanbase he has left as his new level.
I don’t know that I have a point to any of this.   I just watched the Mark video and thought “Wow, this Logan Paul guy is an entitled shithead.”   And then I watched the Yuta video and thought “Wow, he’s an even bigger shithead than I ever imagined.”   I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that his athletic build, lantern jaw, and curly blonde hair are probably why he’s managed to survive as many scandals as he has.    He looks like the lead in some stoner comedy, and people want to root for him and overlook his flaws.    It’d be kind of interesting to see how he does when he hits forty, but no one will be paying attention by then.

We cannot believe that this shit is happening.
Hi. It's Abby here. So about Avalon's grandfather (grandpa as we call him) they had him fully checked out and the spot of cancer he had was small. Until they actually realized it was a cavity. It burrowed it's way through the lung, and something is wrong. Avalon will not return as planned, we're truly sorry for the inconvenience, we will remain by her side.
For you to get to know him better so you can understand why we love him so much, this post has been divided amongst three people. Logan, myself, and Avalon. We wanted to tell the story of his life! He's not dead, he's just interesting. We ask that you take the time to actually read it. Names have been changed due to privacy or just not included at all.
(Abby)
Jimmie A. Last name not included for privacy but as a letter instead. He is an interesting man who was raised by very honorable people, Emmett and Helena A. Emmet was a soldier in the navy due to a WW2 draft, Mr. Jimmie actually still has his father's letter from when the government drafted him.
When he was a small child he lived in the city. One of Avalon's favorite pictures (we will try to find it when we can) is of him dressed in a sailor's outfit waking down the street with his mother Helena. Helena was beautiful in her youth and the picture was straight out of a magazine. Mr. Jimmie has a brother, though he moved away and the two don't speak often so we can't really fill in the blanks there. Mr. Jimmie went to school in a academy before moving. (This is where the time line gets a little unreliable)
(Logan)
Years went by after Emmett's return and he sadly passed away. After his passing, Mr. Jimmie enlisted in the Air Force, study Avionics and working on planes. He was stationed around the US from Georgia to Hawaii until he finally left the country and moved to Japan for two years. He actually enjoyed his time there, living in a village near the base of Mount Fuji. He returned to the US to Denver where he fell in love, got engaged, but broke it off due to unknown reasons. He came home and met Avalon's grandmother and they married one month into them dating. They gave birth to two son's and one daughter. Peter, Paul, Lisa.
Peter went on to work at a college, do to reasons we do not mention Paul, and Lisa became a mother. As Avalon grew up, she had a best friend by her side (Logan) and was raised with the families close. Logan views Avalon's grandparents as his own and even calls them Grandpa and Grandma. Jimmie and Grandma (name not included due to privacy) lived with her for a few years before the death of Helena. After inheriting Helena's home, the family moved in together before Lisa and Avalon moved back. Don't worry though, the home is only two minutes apart from each other.
(Avalon)
Many can see Jimmie as a bit of an odd ball but once you speak to him you'll find he is well versed in Quantum Theory, history, philosophy, and science. The man's mind is fucking brilliant if we're being honest. Not many are truly aware of his brilliance though, due to his constant rambling (I usually can keep up though so it's endearing to me). His mind is stronger than many and he has lived an amazing life. We (the small writing team) hope that he is going to live a long happy life. We love him. All of us. And I appreciate Abby and Logan taking the time to ask both me and my grandfather about his life so they would get his life right.
We have funny stories that we will share eventually as he recovers. Thank you to those who took the time to read all of this. I know it's long. But we wanted to tell you his life. It's not over yet. But it is really cool. We love you guys and tonight we want you to call your grandparents if you haven't in a while. Check on them. Get to know them.
Because grandpa isn't just my grandfather. He is all of ours. And he's pretty great.
- The Team.

So I finally watched Deadpool 2. long post. very... very... very long.
back in 2009 my then 7 year old sister really got into avatar the last airbender and I hadn't really watched it but I had to share the tv with my four sisters and honestly between the kids television and disney sitcoms it was a breath of fresh air, and for a year and a half we would wait for reruns of episodes we hadn't seen yet. avatar was the show that got me into fandoms. alas, time passed and by the time korra was playing we'd moved to a different house and lost cable tv because the stepfather refused to pay child support and we were on a one parent income. we didn't really do anything together anymore either because I was in high school now. but then she got super into comic books. and I mean SUPER into them. especially harley quinn and deadpool. so when they announced the first movie and suicide squad we had both collectively lost our shit in excitement. alas, mom said she wasn't allowed to watch it since it was rated R and she was only 14. so one late february afternoon I was gonna take her out to see a movie. I told mom we were going to go see zoolander 2. in the car, I looked at her and said
we're not watching zoolander
and she screamed
and we watched deadpool
AND IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME
anyway more time passed and I heard that a second one was coming out and I wanted to do the same thing but that didn't happen and I lost my chance to see it in the theater. and then as I got enraptured in transitioning and working and a whole bunch of other stuff I just never got around to it. I did watch all of the supporting videos and trailers and stuff though. anyways, my sister (yes the same one) just rented it on dvd from a video store and watched it with her boyfriend today (actually yesterday but shut up), so I just sat down to watch it after work and
It
Was
...
a little disappointing at first, don't get me wrong. there were a lot of plot contrivances and I LOATHE fridge stuffing. I literally made a joke, "if she dies I'm gonna be mad" and then BOOM she fucking died and I was so pissed off I almost just turned it off. but I decided fuck it might as well watch the whole thing. it was a huge step forward from a technical perspective and all of the cinematography was on point and I could tell david pulled his a-game and did so much better than tim did (sorry tim, I love mass effect 2 and scott pilgrim if it's any consolation) and felt so much more fluid of an action movie considering the man did john fucking wick. of course ryan was fantastic too, as he always is. everyone was great: rena, tj, karan, leslie, BRI AND KUTSUNA-SAN, zazie, and stef's voice plus the cgi crew. also I always love terry crews, bill skarsgard, matt damon, alan tudyk, and the two seconds that brad pitt was on screen, even if their appearances were for comedic effect. I wasn't really sold on julian though but he's a newcomer on the scene and he did pretty well for all intents and purposes. I could tell which scenes were filmed first thought but this isn't a scathing attack on a child's acting abilities. I'm just angry that the actual plot for getting to the end was so weak, that they're aware and had ryan lampshade the fuck out of it, and the last half hour was such a trip.
okay so first of all how in the FUCK did sergei figure out who deadpool's secret identity was, track down wade wilson's apartment, get a hit crew together, and make his way downtown in the amount of time it took dopinder to drive wade home, wade and vanessa to bang, and them to start watching a movie? oh yeah sure there's nothing saying that their talk about his daddy issues was the same day let alone the same hour as the previous scene except for the simple fact that there was no fucking indication that any time had passed. either way, someone fucked up, and it was for the sole purpose of fridging ness to cause wade manpain. although frankly the only thing I hate worse than killing off the previous waifu for the next is breaking them up for zero reason whatsoever from out of nowhere (or doing both: if you do both then you're no better than paul blart mall cop 2 and that movie is a steaming blight on humanity that's only saved by perfectly syncing to pink floyd's dark side of the moon album). and to be fair THEY ACTUALLY USED THAT AS A PLOT ELEMENT AND MADE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND HAUNTING SCENES I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A MOVIE. and also a hilarious one. so that sucked at first but then redeemed itself later. I'm still a little salty that he killed francis for nothing. MORE ON KILLING LATER.
(actually upon reflection maybe wade didn't hide his secret identity at all so it's perfectly reasonable that sergei just went after him but that would awaken a whole swathe of problems like why the fuck are wade and ness livin in the middle of the city full of crime and shit??? and more on that later)
dopinder killing his rival in love. come on now, that's just unrealistic. dopinder is too fucking incompetent to successfully murder anyone who isn't a pedophile. MORE ON THAT LATER.
the suicide. I can understand going out with a bang but are we supposed to believe that wade bought all those barrels, wheeled them in, and arranged them all and never once thought "well gee maybe I'm overreacting a little bit"? okay, he was depressed and not thinking clearly, but he was constantly getting drunk, doing coke, and god knows what else. he somehow didn't have the clarity to not kill himself but had just enough to arrange such an extravagant death? yeah yeah I get it, rule of funny and cool, and I can forgive it because it's deadpool, but god damn it that's really lazy (AND GODDAMN IT THEY EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE IT TOO. ITS LIKE THE ROYAL RAT AUTHORITY BONFIRE HERE). it's also indicative that weasel and colossus and dopinder are just bad or at least distant friends. and at least althea has an excuse being that she can't see. but as for the other two? bruh he is suicidal and unstable as hell. the last thing he needs is SPACE. but well maybe he hid it well, like kurt cobain, robin williams, chris cornell, chester bennington, okay writing this sentence maybe that actually does make sense. fuck.
negasonic thought that wade "flamboyant pansexual" wilson was lesbophobic? what? I understand it was for a joke but like come on now. surely she'd know that wade legitimately wanted to fuck colossus but wouldn't because he loved vanessa. lesbian gaydar works well, okay? then again the writers are not lesbians so I mean they can't be faulted for not grasping the raw power lesbians exude. (and if there's canonical evidence negasonic is actually bi, the same rule applies because wlw solidarity and stuff). and that's more than made up with the interactions between wade and yukio. whom I love and would die for. she's delightful and I hope she gets plenty of screentime in DP3. (also lmao 'pinkie pie from my little pony'. the real pink pony would be proud)
now, I get that this is purely because of license issues and budget constraints but THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF THE X MEN COEXISTING WITH THE PEDOPHILE HOME AND THE ICE BOX IN THE SAME UNIVERSE IS SO FUCKING ASININE. even if I made concessions for everyone being dead despite the timeline being fucked up the ass without lube, and admitting to never having watched literally any x men movie past X3 and yes that means I've not seen origins, japan arc [wait shit yukio's in that WTF SONY], first class, days of future past, apocalypse, or logan so I'm not an expert on the field but like. FUCK. I know there's jurisdiction, things change, erik is away and charles is dead (I think) and logan is dead (I know), and there's six whole movies I'm lost on, but jesus christ, none of that segment had any work done to make sure it was logical. so here we're supposed to believe that colossus and negasonic took wade as a trainee in the X Jet to Allegorical Racist/Homophobic And Literal Pedophile Central to... do what, exactly? What was the fucking plan? Because it sure as fuck looks like the plan was to distract him enough to force the Devil May Cry (sorry but I see DMC I either think of the rap duo or the game series) to haul him off to fucking prison to the fucking nth power. Colossus who seems to be the head honcho and sole decision maker of the X Men just stood by and watched until bullets started flying. Was he recruiting? Was he the damage control? Was he the cheap plot moving device whose sole reason for showing up at Essex was to punch Wade out before he killed headmaster touchykids allowing for the hamfisted climax? Clearly if we were to derive any conclusion from this circlejerk we have to assume that not only Colossus but the entirety of the XMansion just don't give a fuck anymore, or that it isn't important to make sense because hey this is a Deadpool movie so fuck you for using logic. Excuse the shit out of me for being confused as to what the fuck actually happened, because if Colossus is willing to let Wade get thrown into prison for killing a pedophile but he's not gonna TAKE ACTUAL LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ESSEX HOUSE FOR TORTURING MUTANT CHILDREN FOR DECADES (Domino admitted to it being the same when she was a kid), either it's just a Public Relations nightmare to not let the Run-DMC haul him off, Essex is a legal powerhouse on the same level as the Westboro Baptist Cult with lawyers up the ass, or they changed a lot of shit from the trailers and cobbled together what they could from what remained (which is the most likely suspect because Bedlam and Shatterstar had scenes in the trailer where they were not dead and were actually fighting with Wade and Domino). Regardless, the scene however dumb and nonsensical was necessary I guess, and established Russell/Firefist as a character. I'm still gonna be pissed about that in particular but HOLY SHIT is that stupid. But that's not all that's stupid. More on that later.
Cable's motivations are grief. His hypocrisy is understandable. Killing kids is wrong so I'm gonna kill a kid so he doesn't kill other kids. Why doesn't Russel deserve life? Because he's a mutant? Wow, Thanos is racist AND mutant-phobic! In all seriousness though, all Cable had to do was nothing to prevent his family's death. If he had stayed in the future, nobody would have broken Russel out so there would be no way in hell he'd have killed the headmaster let alone everyone else he did. Although according to the laws of time travel, the timeline Cable came from was the timeline that he went back in time and did everything exactly the way it happened up until Wade took that bullet for Russel. Because that's the moment the teddy bear lost its bloodstain. Because literally not a goddamn thing changed the course of history up until that exact moment, THAT IS THE EXACT FUCKING MOMENT IT BUTTERFLY EFFECTED ITS WAY TO HELL AND BACK. Cable's dead family is a direct result of him going back in time to kill Russel to save them and failing miserably. And god I love time travel paradoxes UGH I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH. We have to assume Cable failed and that's why he succeeded. THATS SO FUCKING STUPID.
And you know what else is stupid? Wade made it back to New York after breaking out of DMC. How is that stupid? Well, first of all, the facility wasn't looking for THEIR MOST DANGEROUS INMATE. Black Tom said it himself, Wade is the toughest cunt in there. Although Juggernaut is way more powerful but whatever. More on that later. Anyway, the facility got the riot back on lockdown despite Cable decimating most of the staff, and got everyone in line enough to get them to start convoying to the more secure location. Did they see that Wade was missing and decide "hey, fuck it, what can the literally most unkillable man in the world with the most enormous boner for revenge in the universe POSSIBLY do to us who forced him to slowly die of cancer all over again in a hell prison???" Fucking stupid. Even dumber is the actual X Men themselves not giving a shit that there was an attack on the ice box which is apparently Mike Pence's wet dream, not lifting a finger to so much as offer assistance TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND REHABILITATION OF ALL OF THE MUTANT INMATES, or even so much as being like "hey guys is Wade doing okay dying from cancer in your Guantanamo Bay?". And dumber still than that is Colossus deciding that Wade deserves to slowly die of cancer since he killed a pedophile who abused a kid so bad he used his powers for destruction and murder and evil and eventually became one of the most deadly sociopathic murderers in the fucked up future world, rationalizing it because Wade broke the rules of being an X-man by killing, even though Wade didn't wanna be an X-man in the first place. Colossus dragged Wade from his suicide directly to the X manor to get his body healed, forced him along to a mission he didn't wanna be a part of, and then punished him for killing a pedophile by forcing him to die slowly from the cancer while getting the shit kicked out of him by convicts. AND THEN WADE APOLOGIZED TO COLOSSUS? ARE YOU FUCKING FOR REAL HERE? WADE WAS SUICIDAL AND COLOSSUS FORCED HIM INTO PRISON. Bad friend, 0/10.
Seriously, a queer military vet with ptsd and a fucked up past replete with daddy issues who developed cancer and was then tortured by a shadow organization went on a revenge spree followed by a murder spree as a mercenary, and expressed that he's a violent psychopath who won't hesitate to murder sex traffickers or pedophiles or people who threaten his girl, and watched said girl (the only good thing in his fucked up life) die right in his arms immediately after his life was about to go in a good direction and start a family and probably give up all of the murder business and just be the best dad in the world and give a good life to someone to make up for the one he never got himself, did a cocaine bender, and literally committed suicide. But his godforsaken mutation wouldn't let him die, so he couldn't even see his Vanessa again. He clearly has severe clinical depression and needed a FUCKING MENTAL HOSPITAL STAY, not being shoved into a planless feeble attempt to get him to join the Xmen (using him for an extra hand for missions), and he was allowed to BRING THE GUNS, and he was confronted with a physically and sexually abused CHILD with mutant powers he probably didn't ask for that ruined his life and got him sent to Essex, a BIG KNOWN HOTSPOT FOR PEDOPHILES, and he has a big problem with sex criminals (oh yeah and the girl he loved so much he killed himself when she died? sex worker with a life full of being sexually assaulted herself. let alone the fact that wade has been sexually assaulted as well). You take a queer, mentally ill, suffering man and push him past his breaking point, and let him bring guns to a pedophile nest, HE IS GOING TO KILL THE PEDOPHILES. Colossus is a fucking cunt in this situation in every single conceivable fashion. He dragged Wade out of the frying pan, and out of the fire, and into the fucking woodchipper, before stepping on him. The situation is so far behind fucked up that I don't even think the crew fully grasp the full gravity of the situation described. But I digress.
Things weren't all bad from this point on.
The recruitment was funny and full of people. Dopinder's reaction at Peter was amazing and I love him. Domino was fucking phenomenal and I loved her. I knew that everyone else was dead from the moment I saw them, though, but I still loved them anyway. Brad. fucking. Pitt. Great action scene all around. Josh Brolin is just the baddest of asses. Murphy's law is supreme.
Juggernaut's reveal was well done. Still dumb but not quite "AHM THE JUGGANAUT BITCH" dumb. Cool dumb. And then he Megatron'd Wade which was even cooler. I thought Russell joining him was a little dumb but it was quite a callback. Although it begs the question: Wade knew it was foreshadowing something and he knew that Juggernaut existed but he just isn't omniscient and the inconsistency is driving me fucking bonkers. This isnt the Deadpool of the comics. This is the movie Deadpool. And while I do like it I can't say it's without flaws. That's ok but still annoying as fuck. And then more flaws.
It's stupid that Colossus would react the way he did when he learned Wade was back. Well if Colossus was moping about because an entire convoy of mutants literally fucking died except for Juggernaut (PROFESSOR X'S BROTHER IN THIS CHRONOLOGY) and Russell, that's even dumber. If he learned Wade was back at that moment then he's not even paying attention to anything considering Deadpool was out and about. Negasonic and Yukio didn't look too surprised to see him. Lazy writing, lampshades, whatever, blah blah who even fucking cares.
The heroes show up just in time. Shocking. But of course if they didn't it'd be a boring movie.
The action scene was FANTASTIC. It balanced four different fight scenes all at once. Why Jug didn't rip Cable in half like he did Wade I won't ask, maybe because he's half robot I guess idk. Still, Wade/Cable, Domino, and Colossus kicked ass, and Russell's advance to the headmaster was beastly. Julian's acting wasn't the best and neither was Eddie's but I got what they went for and HOLY SHIT THE SCENE IS SO CHILLING, especially for queer youth. Bryan Singer could only dream of that level of subtle analogues.
I thought it was dumb that Cable was all like "if Russell kills then he'll be an evil monster since killing is wrong" even though literally every one of the people there have killed several people that fucking day. Cable killed many, Wade killed many, Domino killed many. Granted they killed mostly pedophiles but they also killed a lot of DMC people & innocent civilians (accidentally). But again he was grieving so whatever.
Negasonic and Yukio had their moment too, I just wish there was more. But that's what the threequel is for. WE WANT MORE LESBIANS!
Wade has balls, I'll give him that. Where he kept that power nullifier I'll never know. [also... fuck that noise. they just have a collar that turns off mutant powers? ORORO WILL HAVE A FUCKIN ANEURYSM. and marie will have an orgasm. for once in her life. hahaha references]. But it was still a great scene. Russell is actually a really good character, if he is a bit Woobie, Destroyer Of Worlds. But I like that trope. Simon from Cry of Fear is one of my favorite characters in that respect; sympathetic even to the very end if he kills Purnell and Sophie (god that monologue is so haunting... "have fun cleaning my brains off the wall. FUCK YOU."). He's basically just a mini Wade but a mutant first. And it allowed Wade to have a defining character moment.
And what a moment. There's a quote that was said about The Princess Bride that I feel works here. It was about the Inigo fight with Rugen. "A comedy is only as strong as the moment when it stops being funny." And the moment when Inigo stabs Rugen, and says "I want my father back, you son of a bitch." is just permanently etched in my mind because the entire movie you watch with a smile up until right at that moment. And when Wade finally bites it, you think "oh, he'll just wake up again and make another joke" but he doesn't. He doesn't move again. He shows up on death's door. And you hear the acoustic version of Take On Me. And he walks through the fog door, and he's got his skin back. He did it, he's finally reunited with Vanessa. And Cable looks away, and you start to piece together where they're going with it, and he goes back, and you wonder wtf is this, and it returns to the present day and Wade digs in the wound AND PULLS OUT THE SKEE BALL TOKEN HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS OH MY GOD THATS THE COOLEST SHIT IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE JESUS CHRIST ON A STICK.
THE ENTIRE ENDING SCENE IS SO ICONIC.
And the whipped cream on top of the sundae is the headmaster getting creamed in the middle of his tirade. And then Dopinder's reaction is the cherry.
After that it kinda does the sappy ending which is fine for what it is. And then it brings in all the fourth wall breaking time travel shenanigans, drenching it in sap and Ryan Reynolds' brains.
The music is just OH MY GOD amazing. Yeah there's the pina colada song and skrillex and celine dion and ac/dc and enya and pat benatar and peter gabriel and cher and steve miller and for some reason diplo/french montana/lil pump but THOSE ARE ALL ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD OKAY???
The movie is chock full of amazing lines.
The fights are all really fluid and visceral.
The cinematography is always on point.
The plot formula is shaken up a little bit.
Several pedophiles die incredibly violently.
ITS A REALLY GREAT MOVIE, FOR REAL.
I'd literally say it's better than the first one.
All of the plot contrivances in the first half are negligible and are barely even problems unless you overanalyze them too much. Like I do.
And I also watched all of the extras... Celine Dion is such a good sport, really, and honestly kind of a dork and super endearing and I love her honestly and think she caught too much flak for being a) a woman b) popular c) in the worst 'romance' movie ever made tifuckintanic god I hate that movie so much despite loving kate winslett, leonardo dicaprio, and james cameron as much as I really loathe to admit it. And Ashes is a really good song.
And I never thought I'd say this but... Lil Pump has really nice flow. I really kinda hope he isn't the dead one. I despise French Montana but I love Sia and by extension Diplo (because LSD), and the song they did for the movie was... bad. But I'll probably be checking out Lil Pump soon.
And anyway the winter solstice mtv unplugged acoustic version of take on me? Beautiful.
I enjoyed this movie a lot, despite the nitpicks.
Thank you Canada. 🇨🇦

Top 5 places to visit if you love dark tourism!
Tumblr media
If the shiniest tourist attractions seem to be rusting, you’re probably in need of a desperate change of pace. This is where dark tourism comes into play! Characterised by tragedies, horrific flashbacks and daunting legends, the places I’ve highlighted for you in this article have a razor-sharp edge that glistens with different shades of gloom, taking you miles away from the usual happy-go-lucky experiences you’re accustomed to in a regular holiday.
The next part of this article discusses suicide, genocide and other related topics. If this triggers you in any way, please refrain from reading further
• Aokigahara Suicide Forest, Japan
Ahem, you might be familiar with this one; actually, I think we’re all familiar with this one, especially, after the Logan Paul incident. But if you’re not one to get caught up in the whirlwind of YouTube drama and the creepy side of Japan, I guess, then you probably have no idea what I’m talking about. To give you a little context, the Aokigahara Suicide Forest is said to be one of, if not, the most haunted place in the world. It’s a space known for, well, you most probably guessed it. Suicide.
Locals would advise you to stay from this place at all cost, but recently, more and more tourists have been paying a visit and documenting their experiences to prove their case and answer the ongoing question of whether or not ghosts exist. Word of advice? Don’t be like them. Going there is your wish, but documenting a place that people go to end their lives takes being insensitive to a whole new level. Flashing orbs, wails of terror & pain, and sightings of spirits are the regular starter pack you sign up for when you visit this place. Many visitors also describe the atmosphere to be crushing, like its heavy and mention it gets harder to breathe the deeper you venture into the forest.

Did you know?
Logan Paul’s video showed the body of a victim who had committed suicide, it almost cost his entire career and sparked a viral series of hate tweets, threats and videos made by the general public and other creators to bring awareness to the forest and its history.

Chernobyl, Ukraine
It’s not a segment about dark tourism if we don’t remind you of Chernobyl’s existence. Surprising nobody, Chernobyl scores the second spot on our list of places that capture the obscure intensity that dark tourism radiates. With a haunting tragedy dating back to 27 April 1986, the disaster-struck area is widely recognised for its grey-clad skies, dry leaf enveloped scenery and daunting views kept away by barbed wire. But hey, that’s just the tip of the iceberg, experiencing Chernobyl’s gloomy yet fascinating atmosphere is much more sophisticated than you think. This ghost town is as good as it gets!
Everything you need to know about Chernobyl

Many suspects that animals exposed to high levels of radiation in Chernobyl will very well, in fact, begin to develop unusual mutations. Let’s just hope that it doesn’t bring in anything more than flying puppies.

The Hoia Baciu Forest, Cluj-Napoca, Romania
No, seriously, what is it with the paranormal and forests? I’m starting to see a pattern here. Some would even say that all of this is being done by concerned environmentalists from deforestation. But, hey, I guess its working. So, props to them! We’re back to yet another place that many deem to be the world’s most haunted spectacle. Its most notable feature? The clearing where nothing grows! A space that some believe to be the portal to another dimension, while others suspect satanic cult activity and some to be UFO.
Throughout the years, the forest has garnered a heavy dose of media coverage, with many world-renowned scientists being unable to explain the strange phenomenons encountered in the woods. Shrouded in myths that may very well be true, the Hoia Baciu forest has many tales passed on about it. One story tells of a six-year-old girl who went into the forest and came back out five years later, wearing the same clothes and not looking a day older. It is also suspected that more than 1,000 people have gone missing in the forest. Visitors to the forest report strange symptoms – nausea, anxiety, the feeling of being watched – and the failure of electronic devices.
All you need to know about Romania
Did you know?
The name of the forest comes from a local legend of a shepherd who entered the forest with his flock of 200 sheep and was never seen again.

The Killing Fields, Cambodia
The Choeung Ek was transformed into a memorial site and tourist attraction in a bid to remember and educate both locals and tourists on the historical massacre. There’s also talk of a tree that is over 100 years old, a tree that witnessed every bit of inhuman torture that the victims faced. It’s definitely an emotional walk down a very dark lane, so please do try to be respectful. Try not to take pictures with the skulls, dress appropriately and don’t smoke drink or eat while touring the site.

In so many other places in this genocide park, poking out from the ground, you can see as yet uncollected evidence of the horrors: teeth, bits of cloth from shirts, kids’ shoes, bits of smashed bone from broken bodies and more

Auschwitz concentration camp, Oświęcim, Poland
The fortified walls, barbed wire, platforms, barracks, gallows, gas chambers and cremation ovens show the conditions within which the Nazi genocide took place. The atmosphere is understandably eerie, and the former concentration camp has also gained a reputation for being haunted. Visitors often remark on seeing apparitions, but the most common story is that of a child’s laughter. Just like the Killing Fields in Cambodia, the Auschwitz concentration camp has a dark story that rests on its shoulders, so try to remember you are at the site where over 1 million people were killed. Refrain from doing Tiktok videos, taking selfies, making jokes and anything else that’s a step away from being respectful.

There’s a special place in hell for people like Hitler and Pot Pol!

Cultural Respect and Favoritism.
Respect is a global mannerism, no matter what the culture is. From what I learned, Japan is a very culturally strong, proud country. They are very colorful, right down to how the country began. And I respect that. I have a lot of respect for any country who holds their culture proudly. I admire that.
Then we have Logan Paul.
Honestly, back when Logan was a Viner, I kinda admired his energy. But, when he hit youtube, with his brother, I will admit, I watched their vlogs. But... It got too commercial. “Hey, join the Mavericks, Join the Logang” “Be cool and be a Jake Pauler, get your Team 10 merch”. That drove me to unsub. Along with many other things.
Thank goodness I did. Because the commercialistic and boisterous content gotw worse. Disgracing Italy, Posting shitty diss-tracks-- seriously that needs to die, it was fun while it lasted-- and even disrespecting others with the most unbelievable pranks a sane person could conjure. I went from liking their work to downright hating them.
Then Logan visited Japan.
I myself haven’t been into Japanese culture, but I know when respect for culture and people in general is neglected. And Logan threw respect off the plane. He not only disrespected the items he bought- he threw a Game boy color and destroyed it and took it back to the salesperson and said it was ‘malfunctioning’- and he proceeded to mock them- he even threw a pokeball plush at a car going by shouting ‘Toyota I choose you’- and shoving cameras into their faces.
Then.... The latest video.
I have heard about Aokigahara before the video, and I have tremendous amounts of respect for it. I have many close people who have been suicidal. Even me, at a dark time during the Summer of 2015. But the way Logan Paul carried out his visit like some obnoxious ‘ghost adventure through the spooky suicide forest’, it made something deep inside me boil. Something I haven’t felt for a long time.
Rage.
But not just because of what Logan did- which is extraordinarily disrespectful and incredibly rude, but... for Youtube.
That video was up without Youtube’s staff even batting an eyelash. They should have taken that video down- along with the rest of Logan’s controversial content of enormous amounts of disrespect, but no. They kept both that and Jake’s channel rolling. And you know what?
That’s not right.
They should have treated it like a genuinely disturbing video. They should have taken it down. Youtube is showing favoritism to these two incredibly disrespectful ex-viner turned vloggers. And you know what’s worse?
Children watch them.
That’s right. Logan Paul had the nerve to show a hanging corpse, purple and lacking of life, to children.
Jake Paul had the nerve to show children that he lost his virginity (That’s what pornhub is for).
And you know what’s even worse?
Their parents- whom I believe are divorced-- Greg Paul should have worn a condom- didn’t say shit.
Not only are they terrible role models, but they were not raised right. And Youtube is choosing to let these gregarious, gut-wrenching sickos go.
Am I angry?
Yes.
Am I going to defend Jake and Logan Paul?
Not in a million years.
But I am going to say this.
Report the channels. Report them on Twitter.
But above all... Yes, support the suicide hotlines and communities. Know that you all are loved. Know that, despite all the horrors in the world like Trump, Jake and Logan, and right now Ajit-- yeah Verizon, I’m talkin’ about your little boy toy, because my family is considering switching companies-, there are still people like @markiplier, and @therealjacksepticeye, the Game Grumps, @pixlpit, @crankgameplays, and so many other wonderful people that should be supported by the likes of their social media platforms.
Not corrupt and toxic vloggers like Logan and Jake Paul.
Love from the Northeast,
North.

Logan Paul Should Be Taken Off YouTube.
TW: Suicide
I woke up this morning bombarded by new about YouTube’s golden child, Logan Paul, and found myself completely oblivious to what was going on. After a little more watching around on channels like Kavos (he covers the subject very well and deserves the top spot when you look up Logan Paul), I decided I wanted to talk about it on a platform that probably deserves to hear about it as well. Tumblr is my one piece of social media I haven’t seen ANYTHING about this on by just scrolling through my feed and I think in a way it’s one I expected from it the most. More less, this is for someone who doesn’t have the time or guts to watch the video because honestly I barely do either.
On New Years Eve, Logan Paul released a vlog from his trip to Tokyo, Japan. In the very beginning he displays to frames warning that there will be deaths and suicide in this video, which instantly makes you think, “Hm. Maybe it’s not a good idea to post it then?” In this vlog he and a group of his friends are heading to an infamous spot in Japan known as the Japanese Suicide Forrest. The name states it there, this is a forrest where for years people have ended their lives. With that being said it just seems like the best place for a vlog that is going to be seen by millions of 13-15 year olds with a cast of cooky characters.
In the car, the group is just having fun and making jokes about how they’re going to end up seeing a dead body. Once in the forrest however, the eery music starts playing and a wide pan is made of the overhead view before we’re back with Logan’s vlog camera. We’re met with his face of (what looks like) fake and utter disbelief of what they found. He says its a dead body, and instead of cutting it there and going back to their hotel room to make a respectful video about suicide prevention, he did what any sane person would. He told whoever was holding the camera to film the man as he swung from a noose. He even chose to use this man in his thumbnail for the video and got closer to this body to film his purpled hands. The only part of this man that was blurred was his face.
Not much later, they come across another person who had wandered into the forrest to kill themselves. Once again, instead of putting down the camera and seeking help for the person, he chose to film them while yelling at the person. If you’re unaware, depression and mental illness is something that is taken all too lightly in Japan and is seen as a taboo. When someone is feeling suicidal, more often than not they never genuinely talk about it even with those close to them. That’s a major factor playing into why suicide rates are so high in Japan. If Logan was going to film this video (not that I would recommend anyone to go into that forrest with a camera), he should of at least done his research and made a professional video because... y’know, its his job.
After he looks over the body some more, in some grade-a twist of fate, he begins to laugh about the situation. Instead of ending the video or showing respect for the man that they are still standing less than five feet from, they make jokes. Instead of being mournful for the loss, he continues to be loud and obnoxious as they walk through the forrest. He shouts about how he “didn’t know this would happen” and that “this was supposed to just be a fun video”. With so many places in Japan to shoot simply a “fun video”, you chose to go into a suicide forest notorious for thousands of deaths every year? Obviously, Logan went into this forrest with the expectation that he and his friends were going to come across a dead body so that they could get more views. Even if the video isn’t monotized, you are still trying to get that Logan Paul brand into everyones’ mind and to possibly get more subscribers from someone else’s tragedy. This is all a cycle of him using someone’s suicide for profit, even if not directly.
At the end of all of this, he continues to pace around a parking lot and ramble about how he does all of this filming and vlogging for the audience. Even one of his friends with him tries to ground him by reminding him it was someone’s dead body, but he continues to laugh and behave on this other level of thinking.
Now I don’t know if this video was taken down by Logan or YouTube, and frankly I would be fine with either one. This is the type of content that is not suitable for any audience. Even if it was classified as age-restricted, that doesn’t make his actions any less disrespectful to the family of the suicide victim. I believe it was Logan who took it down, as this morning he released a video titled “So Sorry”. It was actually a better apology video than I’ve seen from some YouTubers in the past. It wasn’t long winded or stretched out and he got his point across that he is sorry. Now, I don’t know if this one is monotized or not.
My real beef with this situation is that I believe YouTube wasn’t the one to take this video off of the platform. With people having their videos demonotized and taken down like wildfire, you would believe that if one of the front runners of their website had messed up like this they would of instantly taken it down. Even if it can be classified as “educational”, you would believe something like this would taint their image. Their golden child is out there video taping a man they never met’s dead body. Some videos are taken down for even suggesting drug usage or fictional violence, and yet this real act of disrespect can go under the radar.
As Logan said in his apology, don’t defend his actions. This is wrong on every level and should of never happened in the first place. If you long to make a video discussing suicide or mental health, do it in a respectful manner. It’s not a joke and it’s not to be taken lightly.
If you are actually struggling with suicidal thoughts and are seeking help, the suicide prevention hotline’s number is 1-800-273-8255.

I just saw someone defend logan paul saying "he's just a 22 year old kid." 22 YEAR OLD KID? KID??? 22 years old is a grown ass adult. He is just one year older than me. He is old enough to drink, he is old enough to drive, he is old enough not to live with parents. He is old enough to know not to record someone's death and make jokes about it. It's not some mistake, no one has ever said WHOOPS I ACCIDENTALLY RECORDED A DEATH BODY. He knew what could happen when he went to Japan and went into a forest known for suicides. He took the steps to go to Japan, go into the suicide forest, turn on his camera, record, find the body and make jokes, go back home, upload the video to his camera, edit the video to blur a face and time length since it was a vlog (and usually vlogs are around 10 minutes), uploaded the vlog to youtube, give it a thumbnail WHICH INCLUDED THE BODY, and chose to make money off of it. He knew what he was doing when he did it it was not a child's mistake.

Okay, right now, I'm absolutely pissed off.
For clarification, Logan Paul made a vlog yesterday of him visiting the Sea of Trees (The Suicide Forest) while on his trip to Japan. As he was there, he came across a dead body hung from one of the trees (It was a recent suicide, which is why it was still there) and all he did was disrespect it by continuing to film. Yes, he may have blurred out the face, but that doesn't fucking matter! He has just broken Japanese law AND YouTube guidelines! But of course, it wasn't YouTube who took any action, it was Logan who took down the video.
What makes it worse was that he uploaded it on New Year's Day. A time where many people, myself included, were looking back on our choices from the previous year and regretting them. And to start off the year which such a disgusting video is not going to help.
Suicide is not a joke. It takes too many lives each year. People like Logan Paul need to realise that something like this is not to be disrespected EVER.
Please, if any of you are suicidal or feel that you need help, call any suicide prevention line that you know. I don't know any myself and I wish I could remember some, but please, reach out to someone you trust if you feel you need help for this. I sincerely wish that I could help every one of you, but I can't.
Despite that, I hope you have a wonderful day, and remember that you are all loved and valuable. Thank you for reading.

my thoughts on the logan paul case
A few years ago, I watched a short documentary on YouTube about Aokigahara the suicide forest in Japan. It became a popular site after a novel depicted a tragic end of a romance there, with at the time the documentary came being an estimated 50-100 deaths per year where the forest was only swept for bodies once a year because of how densely packed the forest was making sweeps more difficult.
The documentary followed a nature guard of the area going on a suicide patrol, he pointed out the signs that had been put up along the paths to convince people not to go through with it along with a number to call to get help. That areas and paths are marked off because of how easy it is to get lost in the forest. In the documentary it’s shown that some people that go into the forest that are still undecided will leave behind tape or string that they tie to trees to mark the path they took, so that if they changed their minds they could find their way back. And that generally if you follow the tape you’re likely to either find signs of a person being there, a still living person camping out, the remnants of a suicide that has since been found or a body.
They did find an abandoned camp where someone had hung up an upside-down doll seemingly as a curse towards society, the man believes this particular person didn’t go through with it and went back. They also found a scene of a suicide and a tent with a person in it that the nature guard talked with to make sure they were okay. They do show the body of a suicide victim they found that day but it was a skeleton, the body of someone who’d been dead for at least a couple of years one that wouldn’t be considered recognisable without some form of ID, and the reaction was a sad one they took time to actually talk about the feelings you get seeing the skeleton of someone that killed themselves and its hard hitting and quite genuine to listen to.
The thing is about this documentary is that it felt sad, it felt serious, professional and respectful. The scene where they found the abandoned camp the nature guard told the cameraman to stay back just in case there was a body, out of respect to the dead and for the cameraman’s benefit. It was respectful, because that’s how you’re meant to approach something of this nature. It’s a serious subject, a very sad one as well. These situations should never be taken in with comedy, or entertainment, they should only be used for education to reach out to people who feel depressed or suicidal to tell them that help is out there and that there are people willing to patrol through a dense forest to find you and make sure you’re okay.
What worries me the most about this whole situation is that these suicides don’t happen near the main paths, they happen in the marked off sections far off the trails. So there is a part of me that’s concerned that Logan Paul and his crew went into the forests on some level hoping to find a body for their video. This might not be the case but having such a horrible scene as the thumbnail for the video isn’t something you just do, going into a suicide forest apparently for a good time isn’t something you just do, starting and continuing to film yourself, your friends and the body while you investigate and comment on the scene instead of leaving the forest and calling the appropriate services isn’t something you just do.
One of the many things that should be universal, is respect for the dead. The differences between these videos is that respect to the dead. The nature guard knew what he was getting into by going into the forest, and he did that because he wanted to help stop suicides and was respectful and professional the entire time through the documentary while Logan’s vlog was just disrespectful to the person that they found and anyone who knew them.
That’s my thoughts on the subject. I wanted to share it because I watched that documentary years ago and it stuck with me, the subject matter it was talking about how it was portrayed remained with me as something I learned from that helped me grow in terms of my awareness to these subjects and to the fact such places exist, while this vlog just sullies that, just insults that message.
People reading this, thank you for your time. If you or anyone you know deals with depression or suicidal or self-harming thoughts, remember there are always going to be people out there willing to help you and that are going to be willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you get through it.
