Hello! I thought I would share a snippet of my WIP and hope that some nice reactions gets my butt into gear to finish the fourth chapter so I can finally post the first chapter (I want to be reasonably ahead before I do).

Anywho, I was tagged by @paperstorm

TK opens his mouth, and he doesn’t even know what he’s going to say until the words are leaving his lips. “I don’t want to be here.” “And that’s the first thing we’re going to work on, you need to want to stay clean and that means realizing this is the best place for you.” He shakes his head. “I don’t mean rehab; I mean in Austin.” Dr. Z sits back in her chair, a satisfied look on her face. “Because of your dad?” TK’s hands start to shake, and he turns them into fists to stop the tremor, but it only causes it to travel up his arms. “Not my dad,” he finally whispers. “Then who?” His teeth grind together as he tries to keep the memories at bay. “I can’t talk about it.” “You’re gonna have to do better than that.” “You don’t get it. I can’t talk about it,” he croaks. “I haven’t—I’ve had a lid on it since I was seventeen, I don’t know what will happen if I take it off.” “You know what will happen if you don’t,” the doctor responds. A lone tear drops from the corner of his eyelid, and he slaps it away before it can crest the apple of his cheek. “I could ignore it in New York. No one knew, not even my mom. I didn’t have to talk about it because I could pretend it didn’t happen. I can’t ignore it here, it’s real, and it’s ruined because I ruined it. I—” he stops with a shake of his head. Dr. Z nods slowly. “Mhm, so it’s safe to assume this thing that happened… happened here in Austin?” When he says nothing, she goes on. “TK, I can’t help until I know what happened.” TK stands before she can keep pushing. “I can’t do this.” Surprisingly, she doesn’t try to stop him. “Whatever it is, TK,” she says as he reaches the doorknob, “you’re not going to stay clean until you deal with it. It doesn’t matter how bad you think it is, I can help you through it.” “That’s where you’re wrong, Doc,” TK rasps, his forehead pressing against the coolness of the door. “It isn’t that it was bad. It’s that it was so good I can’t stomach to even think about how happy I was, and what I’ve been running from this whole time.” “Running from what?” TK’s eyes squeeze shut as he forces himself to breathe. “Him.”

THERE'S SO MANY CRYING PEOPLE IN STORY CARDS LATELY!!! SPECIALLY LIGHT USERS!! I AM!!! SCARED!!!! bc so far we got Lilia and Sebek in the beginning book 7.... so at the end.... so we're missing story Silver... and Malleus is the one with less cards, so they might add one for him... but... the tears... ego.... YES I am ALSO like...90-95% convinced that we're going to be getting a story card for Silver once we wrap around back to diasomnia. 👀 especially because the way things are going, Silver will be the only character whose dream we haven't seen -- yet???? -- and that just. y'know. makes me wonder!

although I do think it would be VERY funny if he got a story card and the groovy was just "regular Silver except with one beautiful single crystal tear". this is actually a lot coming from him.

(he used up all his emotion yelling at a baby that one time, there's none left for a proper groovy-level cry.)

on a more serious note i know ad astra as a whole isnt over but i still want to thank daybreaker for their fics. what friends are for was the very first md fic i ever stumbled upon when trying out ao3 for the first time, and prior to joining the server i was checking it near daily for uploads. god knows if i'd be as deep in ao3 as i am now if it werent for this story and convenient timing. Thanks for the story.

I don't even know if I was tagged today?? But I have been for the past 2 weeks and not participated and since I actually wrote this weekend (yay!) I thought I'd release another snippet.

Dr. Z doesn’t say anything for a minute, and he’s grateful, because he needs that time to gather his thoughts.

“I think,” he stops to cough as the knot grows impossibly bigger in his throat, “I think I met my soulmate when I was fifteen,” he admits with a watery smile. “And I know being with him was the happiest I’ve ever been. It didn’t matter that we were only kids, that he was in the closet, that I kind of was too. It didn’t matter to us that we only had summers together, that we didn’t know how it was going to last long term because all we needed just then was to make it through the school year.

“You wanted to know what significant life change happened? I met my soulmate and lost him all before I hit eighteen,” TK tells her.

Disgustingly messy and crusty sketch dump but I couldn't get my own terrible theory out of my head and ended up making a bunch of sketches about it. Also at the end a bonus dickbats and Damian doodle bc I was reading an issue of their Batman and Robin run (IDs in Alt)

Here’s a bit of a departure from my usual art posting but I’d like to get the word out about my dear friend Edrian and his friend Angeles’s endurance performance and hunger strike for a free Palestine in Los Angeles starting today, June 17th. (More info on Edrian’s Instagram and at venerations.cargo.site)

Edrian will begin cutting out paper dolls and ribbons to reach 35,647 of each, reflecting the reported death toll of Palestinians killed by Israel’s genocide in Gaza since Oct. 7th. He will not move from the venue until he is done and do nothing aside from cutting with few exceptions made for his own physical and economic survival. In addition to that and to represent a microcosm of the suffering in Gaza and Palestine, he will be on HUNGER STRIKE until he finishes. It’s an impossible task to do alone before starving so audience participation is essential. I’m spreading the word to ask for support through participation!

You can participate in a number of ways (more detailed instructions here):

Spread the word. Word of mouth and social media sharing are crucial as this performance is being promoted pretty exclusively via word of mouth.

Donate money to Palestinian aid funds! Certain high donation amounts can help Edrian continue his endurance performance by allowing him to engage in life-giving activities like showering or socializing with a loved one, and reaching the 100k total goal allows him to end his hunger strike.

If you live in and around Los Angeles, visit the venue (800 Date Ave, Alhambra, CA 91803) There you can help him cut and show your support. ***The performance is on the second floor of the venue and there is no elevator so it is not accessible except by stairs :(

If you don’t live near LA, you can cut paper dolls and mail them to the venue address to count towards the total. (printable templates here) This is what I will be doing. It’s easy to do with any spare time you’re not using your hands. I recommend mailing them in small batches if possible to get them in on time and reduce the risk of losing mail. I also recommend including info about the count of paper dolls in each parcel (for example include a note telling the total number of paper dolls) Every small amount counts!

If you are an Art Center College of Design student or alumni, sign the petition to pressure Art Center to divest from Israel! Art Center has refused to host Edrian and Angeles for their performance, torn down their posters promoting it, and in general refused to take a stance against Israel’s genocide. As artists and human beings we must resist genocide and refuse to support institutions that side against the people.

He is also live-streaming his performance and documenting progress if you would like to show support just by being present.

If you’ve never participated in a political performance before now’s a great chance, any little bit counts! I appreciate any time or effort you take to read this, support my friends, and work towards a free Palestine! ♥️🇵🇸
