i'm doing a hunger games simulator of @linked-maze ! game under the cut- although i hit the tumblr image limit, so i will need to reblog this (here's a link to the reblog with the rest of the game in it)
here's the lineup! i needed 24 characters, but linked maze doesn't quite have that many characters yet- so, some characters are in here twice, in both their hylian and animal forms. this gives them twice the chance to win, good odds, but in the hunger games, it's less about odds and more about blind luck. let's go!
a lot of running away from the bloodbath. a reasonable but boring course of action
a lot of weapon gathering as well, but still no violence. maybe this will be the first ever peaceful bloodbath
more running, and koridai steals a mace from wolfy! i didn't know wolfy had hands
wow. i can't believe it. a bloodbath with literally no blood. they all just ran away. onto day 1, let's see how long the peace lasts
the peace did NOT last. wolf time attacks hylian time, despite the fact that A: they are on the same team and B: they're literally the same person. but both times survive. meanwhile, sheerow gets the first kill! rip minish
compass kills hyrule (the hylian. fairy hyrule is still in the game)! meanwhile, everyone robs wind
at the end of day 1, friendship blooms on the battlefield. that's nice
minish and hyrule are dead. sheerow and compass have one kill each, meaning they're currently tied for first place!
shadow makes four kill wolf time, but he spares bunny bunny! why did shadow do that to his own teammate? i don't know. at least hylian time is still alive. also, twilight kills wind. poor wind, everyone raided his camp and then he died.
wild dies in a frozen lake... yeah, cold water is like the #1 most deadly thing in botw and totk, that's fair. rip. and djaevel kills warrior! i would not have thought he could do that, but i guess i thought wrong
SHEEROW KILLS AGAIN! bunny is dead (the hylian one. bunny the bunny is fine). ravio lets time into his shelter, which i personally think is a bad idea but maybe it will work out. now for day 2
twilight runs away from ravio. i think twilight would win that fight but i guess he's not as sure as i am
sheerow continues to be a menace. now that wind is dead, everyone's stealing from four instead. djaevel falls in a hole and dies, which is embarrasing for him, and that's the end of day 2! 6 people died
despite the deaths, no teams are wiped out yet. sheerow is in first place! for now. onto night 2
i guess ravio letting time into his shelter did pay off after all! time is now extending kindness to world, and ravio gets to stay in someone else's shelter too
everyone has a bad night. maybe sheerow is experiencing guilt for his murdering ways, and angel might be mourning djaevel, since he fell in a hole and died
how did bunny start a fire? why did he cook his food, when bunnies do not need to do that? a mystery for the ages. onto day 3
navi kills twilight! everyone else (including wolfy) just kind of runs around thinking about murder
sheerow and koridai both discover a cave. is it the same cave? who knows! meanwhile angel does exactly what she usually does. a short and uneventful day (except for twilight dying, i guess)
sheerow is still in first place! and there are still no eliminated teams. time for night 3
four spares sky. angel dies of hypothermia? i guess she is naked, and it's cold. bunny cooks his food again. why does he keep doing that
fairy friends! compass kills spirit! sheerow (who is a bird) loses sight of where he is, even though he can FLY. and that's the end of the night!
everyone's doing well. or as well as they can be, given the circumstances
bunny the bunny plans murder. what a short day!
sheerow and compass are back to being tied for first! in an interesting twist, the first team to be wiped out was the twili siblings, followed shortly by wind and spirit.
fairy hyrule spares compass, despite the fact that she killed hylian hyrule. time lets a wolf into his shelter like an idiot
end of night 4! that was pretty short. hopefully day 5 is exciting
day 5 is very short, but it is a little exciting! world makes sheerow kill koridai, putting sheerow back in first place!
district two, minish and koridai's team, is wiped out. i'm starting to think sheerow is going to win, but you never know. onto night 5
(in the a reblog, because i hit the tumblr image limit. see the rest of the game here)

I have a brain rot for sage, hes challenging the chain for their time with player/reader, he basically wants all His/Her/Them's attention, of course none of the chain and sage are going to "play" fair their going to cheat no matter what. the only ones he might not win against is time, FD and maybe twilight. wind, four, Hyrule, and sky would do sad puppy eyes to get cuddle time, twilight and legend turn into their animal form to get pettings, sage and wild would cook food to get points for being delicious. (etc.etc.) just some yandere shenanigans for attention. the challenges he did were sword fighting, bow and arrow targeting, sparing, arm wrestling, and so forth.
-Eevee
Okay, last one for the night! I figured since this isn't really a request, I could spitball some more of my headcanons for our beloved Sage.
Jk it delted itself so I gave up and went to bed bc last time I tried to push through I wasn't happy with the end product, so sorry for the delay!
For those of you who don't know, Sage is another name for the Tears of the Kingdom Link--dubbed Hero of the Zonai-- should we decide he is not in fact Wild.
For the Wild and Facesitting request, it's in progress I promise! I try to go in order with my requests, but like I said, this is more headcanons versus a scenario. It should be out tomorrow later today so look out for that ;)
ANYWAY-
Y'all. The amount of Sage requests in my inbox right now? You guys are feral for this man and I love it. So I'm here to feed you guys.
TotK spoilers below!
・❥・Okay, so lemme start this off by saying. I have done you all wrong. And for that I apologize.
・❥・Because our wonderful @wayfayrr has opened my eyes to new possibilities that I would've never even thought of. So everyone say thank you rn >:(
・❥・So let's make some amendments!
・❥・First off, let's talk about nicknames. I love the idea that Reader, and only Reader, can call him anything other than Sage. And calling him other herb-related nicknames? Kills me. He is a flushing red mess the first time it happens. You had deemed him worthy of a nickname? You considered him person enough to have a moniker that wasn't also a title? If he was down bad before, it's so much worse now. Because you see him as a person. He's sure the others just see him as a means to the end. The second one of them, maybe save Wind, try it, he's shooting them daggers and snarling at them for even daring to try and impeach your privilege. (I also love the Calm, Wild and Feral thing, I thought that was so freaking clever.)
・❥・And you know how each of the hero's have their own 'sword' right? Well, what if Sage's was the Master Sword Remastered? Like Sky's (Like most of their Master Swords actually) but now it's been boosted by ten thousand years worth of direct light magic. (Does the Zonai time fall before Skyward Sword or after? I have no idea where they fall on the timeline tbh.). Just a thought. It could also be a gloom sword which probably wouldn't effect him as hard in other timelines because there's no demon king to power it, but it probably does hurt the others if they try to touch it.
・❥・Now, the juicy part. Let's retouch on Wild's and Sage's relationship. I originally said that Sage was okay with him? I lied. Wayfayrr has opened my eyes.
・❥・Sage probably can't fucking stand Wild. As they said, this is a version of him that didn't have this second adventure. Got to rest and distant himself from the Hero Title. And that just pisses him off. Why did he get the shittier hand? Why did he have to do it all over again? Why when this failure got to get off easy? Why couldn't he have the same grace, huh? What made them so different?
・❥・And if we're using the past oneshot (Here!) as they're 'canon' meeting, this filth let you get hurt. You were hurt before meeting him, which means that they can't be trusted with you. Especially Wild. So Sage cannot stand you being near Wild. At all. It eats at him and he doesn't last long before splitting the two of you up.
・❥・Calamity is even worse. There is probably an active hate towards Calamity (In this Yandere world, in a normal, not toxic world? They probably work out their differences a little better). This was a version of him who didn't even have to die to complete his quest. And this just shows that Fraud has favorites and it's not him.
・❥・You know who else he probably doesn't like? Twilight. Now, hear me out. This is purely me just spitting this out, but Sage has to be aware. He listens when they don't think he does, he's awake when they think he's not, he's watching when they don't even know he's there.
・❥・So he probably picks up on all of their little secrets. Meaning he knows Twilight is Wolfie. And (I think this is Canon is LU but I'm not sure) Wild had Wolfie as a guide. Which means Sage had Wolfie as a guide. The difference? When he needed him the second time, left stumbling around like a newborn fawn crawling out of the shrine all over again, he was left alone. He was fighting robots with a fucking Stick. He fused a mushroom to a shield just to buy himself more time. At one point, he was fusing a long stick to another long stick just to fight from a distance to save his battered body. Rauru did as much as he could, but there were some times he wished he was left for dead.
・❥・Not anymore as that means he would've never met you, but then? different story.
・❥・They also brought up that Sage probably doesn't stop at just cooking your food and I agree. When on the road, he for sure goes straight to the source. If he doesn't know exactly where it came from, it's not going anywhere near his Goddess. Nope. Not a chance in the gloomy depths from hell.
・❥・He's going to farmers themselves rather than merchants for produce, hunting any protein himself, climbing trees for eggs, he probably even makes his own butter. Now, because he's also cooking savy this for sure makes the rivalry between him and Wild widen. Wild is set in his cook for the chain, not you. Sage can't trust them to not hurt you again. Whose to say they don't over spice the food? Or undercook the fish? Or drop shells into the egg?
・❥・He can't trust them and may force you to pick one of the other. Depending on who you chose, he'll either hold his victory up high or work even harder to separate you from the chain. Can't you see, Reader? They aren't good for you.
・❥・When it comes to the Gloom, he for sure uses to his advantage. You know he's been infected, but you don't know how much light he's gathered to dispel it. At this point, he's probably gotten most, if not all of it, out, but you don't know that. And he preys on that fact.
・❥・Oh, the Traveler wants to down to the river with you? But, Reader, there's something rotten in his chest and he's stumbling against trees, exaggerating his steady steps just in case to really sell it. He needs you by his side, can't you see?
・❥・Oh, the captain is trying to get you to settle with him for the night? But, Reader, he's tossing and turning, feigning sleep and acting just enough to catch your attention. He's listening, ears pricked, just to hear you swiftly apologize before your gently hands are laying on his shoulders and he's won again.
・❥・And because his Hyrule is one of, if not the most dangerous Hyrules, he's given so much ammo to keep you tethered to him. You can't trust anyone, don't you know? The Yiga uptake has skyrocketed and they are everywhere, along with Ganon's new ability to make puppets? Can't you see how you can't trust any of them?
・❥・He even entertains you when you come up with the idea to have a secret saying between just the two of you as a fail safe. (It's probably something like 'Deforestation Enthusiast' because of how the two of you met.) Anything to have you pulling further away from the Chain and into his arms.
・❥・If it begins to take longer than expected, Sage is not above letting you wander just enough in his Hyrule. Maybe you set off a bit of Gloom hands (Or maybe he nudges them in your direction, hard to tell, really) and they go charging at you. The others don't know how to deal with them, but he does. He saves your life before the others even know what hit them. He's cooing into your ear, reassuring that where the others fail, he would never dream of it. He's whispering that he knows how scary the feeling of those hands are. He knows how freezing the feeling of sudden restriction, only accompanied by the burning sizzle of malice, is. He knows and he understands, but he's right here. He'd never let anything happen to you. Not like the other frauds.
・❥・Now, all that being said, Sage for sure does not play fair. Oh no. He does challenge them in his own ways, but does it in a way that can only reflect badly on them should they call him out on it.
・❥・He's fighting (Picking apart) with Wars and Calamity on their sparring routines, angling it in just a way that should they snap back he can turn on the innocent little look with a 'But I'm just trying to protect you. I don't know how any of you fight, I'm still learning.' Just in time for you to catch them barking at him to 'Learn faster' and it just falls perfectly into place.
・❥・He's calling out Twi and Four every time they try to wander off (Probably to bring out Wolfie or split to relieve a headache of sorts) because 'The woods are dangerous, what are they doing going off alone?' and now they can't leave because all eyes are on them and he's restricting their movement without even really trying. They wanna go foraging? But he and ...Wild were their best foragers and they were busy with dinner (That was something bitter to get out).
・❥・And wow, Time, Legend and Fierce have so many secrets, can you really trust them? Sage has laid down his entire adventure to you, and regardless if Reader is a LoZ player and knows of them regardless, Sage told you. Those two are trying to hide from you. He would never.
・❥・Wind, Hyrule and that filthy disgrace want to drag you along to go Shield surfing? Reader, do you know how dangerous that is? Especially with someone's track record. Here, you wanna go riding on this motorized wagon he just happens to have on hand? (Between the Zonite in his Purah pad, he can build any component necessary.)
・❥・Not even Sky and First are safe as he uses carefully laid words to sully their once golden image towards you. Afterall, they're so close to Hylia, whose to say they aren't behind all of this?
・❥・Now, you said that the only ones he may not win against are Time, Fierce and Twilight, but like I said, I can imagine him loathing Twilight, so instead, may I suggest First.
・❥・Time and Fierce are both pretty burly dudes that demand some semblance of respect and while Sage has muscles, he's not overly tall. So while he doesn't bow, he may just back off from their forefront for a while.
・❥・Now, First. He's probably the only one who can put Sage back in his place of the hierarchy. It's the first in the timeline, versus the last (As of right now). And it's not pretty. They probably go to blows a few times when you're out of ear shot.
・❥・The problem is that First can only push him back when you're out of ear shot and Sage makes it a point to keep you as close as humanly possible.
・❥・And while yes, some of them may use puppy eyes, Sage is not above using pity to get what he wants because he just hurts so badly don't you know?
・❥・He unfortunately can't do anything about wolves or rabbits. If they manage to disappear before he can call them out on it, he's left bitterly sulking as Wolfie laps at your cheeks or dumb rabbits nose at your hand. He may know who they are, but not even he's cruel enough to call them out (Yet) because that would just pit you against him. They weren't his secrets to tell, you would scold, and he just couldn't handle that possibility.
・❥・The biggest difference between Sage and Wild, one that the chain will fail to realize right away, is that Sage is much more experienced. He is on his second, THIRD if you count the pre-calamity, adventure. He knows everything Wild does, and more. Wild knows how to improvise and adapt, Sage can do it faster. Wild knows how to forage and concoct incredibly potent elixirs? Sage can do it tenfold with half the ingredients. He knows all the little tips and tricks and is not only backed up by the champion's gifts-- should they have remained-- but now he has the sages with him.
・❥・Like imagine their mid-battle, they had forced you away from Sage just to create some distance (At long last) and mans comes rolling in a giant fucking robot. He's using Sidon's sage to shield you over and over again and decimating a battle field using nothing but Riju and an arrow. Hell, the bigger enemies are struck down by Yunobo crashing into them. Sage alone is enough to cut the enemy hordes in half through recall and sending their own attacks back at them or fusing together weapons they wouldn't have ever dreamed of with new abilities. Even his outfits give him benefits far beyond anything they could think.
・❥・You saw him as someone more than just Link. He wasn't just the Swordsman to you when that was who he was to everyone else. You dubbed him something far beyond what a damned sword made him.
・❥・And he would have to be four days dead before letting you go.
・❥・And as he's proven before, Not even death could truly kill him.
I am so glad I waited bc I like this one so much more than the one that was deleted.

What's This? Another Masterpost?
Hello! You can call me Music-chan or MrsMusica or just straight up Music if you like. I'm a musician and a writer and currently I am very much into the Legend of Zelda fandom.
While you're here, why don't you check out my current magnum opus:
Father of Time
In an alternate universe, the Fierce Deity is freed from his mask and adopts a young Link. This is updated about every 4 days! And don't forget to check out the winter holiday I created to use in the OOT/MM era, Starfall Wishes! It's set around chapter 5 of my Deity fic.
See below for links to other fanfics I've finished!
Linked Universe Fics
Defeat or Deity: The Chain fights something they're not sure they can win against and Time uses the Fierce Deity mask. But maybe the deity does not want to let go. Well, Sky isn't going to stand for that.
Puzzles: Maybe Warriors was missing out on the Hero of Courage experience by never having done a dungeon or a temple. Maybe he's about to find out what it's like.
The Unbearable Weight of Three Days: It was three days, over and over and over again. But it was over, right? He would never have to do it again.
You Want to Talk to Link, Right?: The Hero of Time used to play a song to talk to his friend, Saria. What if he also had a song?
Hey Link!: What is a man to do when travelling with 8 people with the same name?
The Inn at the End of Time: He has met a terrible fate
And Time Again & A Moment of Time, a Deep Blue Sky: Two follow up stories to a non-LU fic I did about the Hero of Time
So You Want To Be A Hero: An introspective Hyrule-centric fic
You Don't Have to Feel Safe to Feel Unafraid: A gift fic I did for a creator Discord server I'm on! It's basically crack idea, treated seriously. MM Link and BotW Link trade places.
A Wild Time at Calamity Ganon: This was an unprompted gift fic for an artist on tumblr I really enjoy! The young Hero of Time finds himself in a ruined castle and look! It's yet another Link! More crack for sure.
Other Zelda Fics
Too Much Healing, Rauru: A TotK fic and my first one on AO3! Link finds himself in a cave with a mysterious voice in his head again. Maybe there were a few extra things in his head as well.
Time and Time Again: Link has made it to the Temple of Time and he's going to save Hyrule from Ganondorf! Or will he? (This has two LU fics to go along with it)
The Silent Realm: What did the Hero of the Skies think of the Silent Realm?
A Wonderful Dream: Was it all just a dream? Set in Link's Awakening
Remainder of the Sky: Skyloft is falling and Link has many thoughts. This one is so beautiful and I love it.

I was tagged by @fire-fira to share a snippet of a WIP! I made a post a WHILE ago about a "what if Teba was the pilot to Divine Beast Vah Medoh during TOTK" AU, and I have been very slowly working on it the past few months (other fandoms and other irl stuff has me distracted, plus the plot keeps running away from me lol), but here's a snippet I really like! (which is probably too long to be considered a snippet, but oh well I like it a lot lol)
--------
Teba looks up at Vah Medoh, still perched on the top of Totori Spire in the center of Rito Village, and wonders what exactly he thinks is going to happen if this somehow works. It didn’t work for any of the others, and there’s no reason for it to work for him, but…
He’ll never know unless he tries, he supposes, and so with a deep, steeling breath, he takes off and makes his way up to Medoh.
The way the Beast is perched makes finding a suitable landing spot a tad awkward – her back, where the control unit is, is at an almost 180 degree slant. Teba could try hovering near it, he supposes, but he’s not sure if he would be able to that while also attempting to activate the terminal.
But he needn’t have worried, for as he circles her back, looking for a place to land, Vah Medoh starts up with a whir of engines. Slowly, she shifts, until her back is flat enough for Teba to land on. He’s glad he told Saki and Harth of his plan; hopefully they’ll reassure the rest of the Village, should any of them begin to panic at Vah Medoh beginning to move about again.
Touching down on the Vah Medoh of this era is odd, and yet familiar. She is covered in moss and rust, and there are the obvious scars of battles taking place upon her – the battle that this era’s Revali failed to survive, and the battle that Link only just managed to win barely a few months ago.
It is strange, to be here without Revali, Teba thinks. There is a quiet, a stillness, to Medoh here that wasn’t there in the time-that-wasn’t. Ever since she fired that devastating beam at Ganon during Link’s final fight, just two months before Teba found himself whisked away to another era, Medoh has been silent and still, no longer glowing the bright blue Teba became accustomed to seeing during his time with Revali and the others – but thankfully not glowing that awful Malice-pink, either.
But now, upon his landing, the blue lights reignite, soft and barely noticeable in the bright daylight. The control terminal lights up as well, seeming to call to Teba.
He’s seen Revali do this plenty of times – reach out to the terminal, and swiftly input commands to control the Divine Beast. But there’s more to it than just that, Teba knows; some sort of connection, soul-deep, between Beast and Champion, that allows any of this to work at all.
(“Bonding with Vah Medoh… well, it was certainly quite the experience. She has to approve of you, want to bond with you, as much as you want to with her. It’s not about control – it’s about communication. She’ll probably make you fight for it, want you to prove yourself, like I had to… but it’s worth it, I think.”)
He hesitantly begins to reach out to the control terminal, and pauses just before his wing can touch it. The stillness has turned into an air of anticipation around him – almost as if Vah Medoh herself is wondering what will happen if Teba lets his wing fall upon her and try to initiate that connection.
The others had mentioned the spirits of the Champions appearing to them on the Divine Beasts. There has been no sign of Revali thus far. Is Revali, too, waiting to see what will happen before he makes his grand appearance?
After another moment of hesitation, Teba reaches out and lays his wing upon Medoh’s cool surface.
The barrage of emotion and half-formed thoughts hits him like a Talus, and it’s all Teba can do to not buckle under the sudden and unexpected mental onslaught. (Was this what Revali meant when he said that Medoh made him fight for it, prove himself? He’d figured it would be tests of skill, not a test of his mental and emotional willpower.)
Even as Teba stands there, cowed under the weight of feelings not his own, Vah Medoh lets out a cry – one that sounds distinctly triumphant, one that feels triumphant – and the mechanisms that allow her to fly begin to whir with energy as she takes to the skies.
But Teba is barely aware of it. His head is full, too full, with this larger-than-life presence, and for a moment he fears he will break under it –
He clacks his beak defiantly. He has worked with Medoh before, in that other version of Hyrule, even if he did not bond with her as a pilot like Revali. But he remembers that faint itch in the back of his brain, the feeling of being watched, every time Revali taught him how to input a command at Medoh’s control terminal – Medoh herself, judging him even when she was bonded firmly to Revali.
He is not a spectacle like Revali was – Revali was still so young, after all, and believed he had something to prove – but the one thing Teba shares with him is a stubborn streak a mile long.
Teba pushes back at the heavy weight of Vah Medoh in his mind, shoving his determination to do this towards her as best he can. He is the most skilled Rito archer, at least in present day – he is no Revali, he still hasn’t quite mastered Revali’s Gale (although he is improving, refusing to give up on trying to learn the skill), and Teba certainly doesn’t flaunt his skill and talent the way Revali did, but there is no denying that he has it. He’s worked with Vah Medoh before – not this version, sure, but he still knows her, how her systems operate and how she behaves, how she has her own personality –
He’s missed Medoh, in the same way he misses Revali. She doesn’t know him – cannot, because of this strange split in the timeline that has happened because of their interference in the past – but he knows her, and he doesn’t want to have to part from her again.
He thinks of saving Revali from Windblight Ganon – thinks of how he should have been there with Link to face the Blight that had plagued this version Medoh for a hundred years. Instead, he’d had to retreat because of his injured leg – Teba may push himself hard, but he knows not to go that far past his limits. But he holds no ill will towards Medoh for shooting him – from what he understands, she’d had little control over her own systems when infected by Ganon, and he can’t fault her for that.
Slowly, the weight in his mind becomes bearable. He can parse out feelings from the jumbled mess of Medoh’s presence – loneliness, wanting, stubbornness, curiosity, longing –
Something clicks into place. Teba lets out a ragged breath, and slowly becomes aware of his body again. The wing he’d laid upon Medoh’s control terminal is now gripping it tightly, supporting him during that mental onslaught. He breathes again – more of a sigh, really – and relaxes his wing.
Vah Medoh lights up in a brilliant blue, and the terminal in front of him comes alive. She sings victoriously, the piercing sound carrying through the snow-covered mountains of Hebra, and Teba can’t help but let out a laugh as he guides her back towards Rito Village.
“Hello again, Medoh,” he sighs. “I know you don’t know me, but I’ve missed you.”
Medoh rumbles beneath him, and there is a shared feeling of content that lingers in the back of his mind. This is right. He’d barely known Medoh, really, but her presence soothes an ache that hasn’t left since returning from the time-that-wasn’t.
There’s silence as Medoh flies, circling back over Rito Village, but this silence is peaceful, easy, rather than unsettling and off as it was before. He wonders what the others in the village must think – he should probably go down and reassure everyone that everything is fine, and explain what he’s managed to accomplish.
His thoughts are interrupted by a voice he thought he’d never hear again.
“Well, well… I’m impressed. Not many can tame Vah Medoh, you know.”
Teba tries not to let his feathers fluff up in surprise, for even as he whirls around he knows it won’t be the same –
It’s like seeing a ghost, but, well, he literally is, in this timeline, here and now. The Revali that has appeared before him is faintly see-through, and has a green-blue tint to what should be iridescent navy feathers. The little ghost-fires that flicker around his frame only confirm what Teba already knows – this isn’t his Revali, the Revali of the time-that-wasn’t. This Revali fought alone one hundred years ago, and this Revali died because of it.
Still – still. “Re- Master Revali,” Teba says, and he hopes his voice doesn’t break the way his heart has.

Likes: spring, summer, dots and cats, eating, traveling, try new activites/dishes, chill out on the sofa, sometimes play video games (Zelda BOTW and TOTK, Okami, Smash Bros, Life is Strange...), watching movies at the cinema, joking around and teasing people, laughing without any restraint, a nice walk in the countryside.
Dislikes: noisy people for no reason, brainless people, people walking too slow, rain, autumn.
Hobbies: writing with people, walking around, eating, going out, cooking, gardening.
extras: I'm a spring/summer person even if I have a hard time standing the heat, I prefer cats but I have a doggo energy somehow. I enjoy writing with others people (never alone because I get bored), discussing about philosophy, joking around and challenge authority.
Thanks a lot!
Hi Juno! Thank you for your request! Sorry it took a while. I hope you like your matchups!
In Jujutsu Kaisen, I match you with...
You and Megumi are both quite blunt and while you might think that would lead to conflict, it actually leads to a very open and clear relationship.
He’s so glad you like dogs. Sure, his divine dogs are there to help him with his curse expelling work but he does have a soft spot for them. He’ll call them out so they can say hello to you from time to time.
I don’t see him as a fan of noisy people either (despite spending so much time around people like Nobara and Itadori). He’s happy to just spend time with you.
Megumi enjoys discussing philosophy with you a lot more than he thought he would. I see him as someone who likes deep conversation but only with a few select people. You fall into that category for him.
I think Megumi would enjoy gardening with you. It’s something relaxing and he can turn his mind off while doing it. Plus he gets to enjoy your presence while you both concentrate on the job at hand.
In My Hero Academia, I match you with...
You and Shoto are a good match since you’re both very different and very similar. You balance each other out in the best ways.
Loves taking walks with you. It really clears his mind and he gets to spend time with you one on one so it’s a win-win.
I think Shoto would also enjoy trying new foods with you. Sure, he knows what he likes but he’s also open to trying new things, especially if you’re trying them with him.
Writing pals! I see Shoto as someone who likes writing down his thoughts and being a bit poetic from time to time. If he gets to write with you and then swap work, he’d have a blast.
Please help him make new friends as well. He’s only got a handful of them and he’d love to make more. He’s just not sure how to go about it without some help.
In Haikyuu, I match you with...
You and Daichi would be rest buddies. He tends to over work himself sometimes so it’s good having you there to make him take regular breaks when he needs them.
I think Daichi would enjoy trying new things with you. He’s got volleyball but he’s always looking to try out new hobbies and broaden his horizons.
He likes that you’re opinionated. Being the captain of a volleyball team means you have to be decisive and have strong opinions. Being with someone who’s the same is good for him.
No need to worry about slow walkers when you’re around Daichi. He’s super tall and takes long strides so he’s a very fast walker. If anything, you might need him to slow down.
I think Daichi would also enjoy travelling and exploring new places so he’d love to tag along with you whenever you go somewhere new. He’d also invite you along whenever the team goes away for a match or a competition.

Omg just read the ask about reader accidentally hurting Link. Yeah it’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me. lol I’m not a Swiftie I just thought that’d be funny there. Anyway, I’m really really bad at video games. For example my ex hated playing games with me bc he’d always win, sometimes with only one hand. It got boring for him. Anyway, there has been multiple (no, millions) of times when I’m playing Botw/totk and I do something stupid, not even that it hurts him all the time, but something stupid, or the wrong way to solve a shrine, and I just imagine Link looking at me with the “what is wrong with you?? What kind of answer was that??” Face or “um, ow?? R u stupid??” Face. You know, facepalming a million times lol. I feel so badly that he’s stuck with my terrible gaming self.😂
Then I must also admit that I sometimes in Botw bc it was my first Zelda game, and honestly first true video game too, would intentionally hurt him just a few times to see what things did or something. Like in Botw u get bombs? Yeah I’d hurt him to see how many hearts it’d take. Then I’d make sure I had the champion’s tunic on and use a bomb on a bokoblin and see how much damage it dealt and did the math of “ok so it took 35 off the bokoblin and 3 and a half hearts off me so…” or whatever. So it’s not that I did it just for fun lol but for science! I did accidentally kill some npcs when trying to complete side quests tho and laughed like a maniac when I did so. Oops lol.
I’ll also sometimes talk about Link like he’s me, saying things like “wow, they were so mean to me!” Or “what did I ever do to them??” Is it just me? Yeah? Ok bye now🙈😂
SEFSDFSDG HE WAS JUST YOUR LITTLE TEST SUBJECT
going to have wild learning maths just for you at this rate, and he's surely more than a little concerned by you laughing at killing the npcs
bet it isn't making him unhealthily attached too hearing you refer to him as part of yourself - a title he'll wear so proudly
#so sorry to hear about your ex not wanting to play with you though :(#that sucks ass that he wouldn't#I think everyone has hurt him at some point though#moss✦answers#🐰 anon

Just gonna say that Navi would probably hate the living sh*t out of Fi
Oof, sorry for not getting to this earlier, I've got totk brainrot
I'm actually not sure if I agree with this? Like maybe at first Navi would somewhat blame the sword, but I think that would fade pretty quick because it's really not the sword's fault that Baby Time died--it's Ganondorf's. Remember that in the downfall timeline, navi would have no idea that Time being sealed away until he grows up was even an option-- from her perspective, his death was an unavoidable tragedy.
Even taking the whole 'sealed for seven years' thing into account, I really don't blame Fi for that either. Remember that Time is only Fi's second wielder, ever. (not touching the first hero stuff since I haven't read the SS manga) She has no idea what to do with a child hero! There really was no good choice in this situation--either let Baby Time draw the sword right away (and get killed), or seal him away so he can win (but traumatize him). I really don't blame her for choosing the option where Time survives, even if he hates her for it.
Sorry for the rant, I just have lots of thoughts ^^;
#g3 does a talk#fairy boys#i don't mean to tear down your hc of course! feel free to imagine whatever you like#this is just my interpretation of that whole fiasco

How do you feel about Momomaeda (Kaito x Nagito) 👀 it’s one of those rarepairs I think that could actually click really well
alternatively? Sick boy solidarity
I thought it best to put all your asks in one response and thank u for the warm ToTK wishes—I am doing my part to create half-baked weapons of mass destruction as we speak uwu
Sick boy solidarity indeed though~ *throws in Nekomaru while I’m at it lol* Imagine an au where these three form a club while they’re all in the same hospital for a while. Sad but wholesome times~
But enough about sick boy club this is about MOMOMAEDA!! Which I just love to say because I’m an alliteration simp. I looked up their interactions in DRS and TDP and YEAH it’s very interesting how differently Kaito treats Nagito initially. Like he can sense something’s off about him, but even still, he’s willing to give Nagito a shot because hey he seems nice enough and is honest so whatevs lol. Which is what I love about Kaito—because even if Nagito’s interest in space might not be entirely sincere, even if he might just be interested in Kaito because he’s an Ultimate—Kaito still appreciates Nagito’s praise (compared to others who find it uncomfortable) and sees him as a guy who has potential to become better with the help of friendship. And that’s exactly what goes down in DRS.
The fact that they included the ending tidbit to say that Nagito rejected the offer to be a sidekick but Kaito kept insisting anyways is so wonderful too! Nagito’s deep self-loathing vs Kaito’s gung-ho attitude. Immovable object meets unstoppable force lol. And like, pretty sure Kaito will win in the end simply because Kaito will not rest until his has his sidekick and it IS still a request from an ULTIMATE so really isn’t it rude of Nagito to keep turning him down? May as well play along until Kaito gets tired of him—is what I figure would be how Nagito rationalizes it all.
But yeah honestly these two are like the hype men of their class. You’re right about how similar they are with the way they compliment others and we even get to see them tag team it in DRS too. I wonder how their interaction would go if (when) Nagito becomes his sidekick. You know Kaito is going to shut down that self-depreciation talk real fast and counter it with something to boost Nagito up all while Nagi looks at him like “????”. Poor Nagito has never been in this sort of situation before ahaha. And Kaito’s stubborn too—I really can’t imagine he’ll back down from trying to help Nagito even if Nagito does something bad. Kaito would probably say something like: “He’s my sidekick. I take full responsibility for his actions and I won’t let him do this again—mark my words.” He is the hero after all. God Kaito really WOULD be such a great partner for Nagi. I’m not sure what Nagi is bringing to the table besides his anxiety of having an Ultimate with little regard for his own safety from Nagito’s luck, but hey Kaito really likes it when Nagito praises him so at least we know there won’t be a shortage there lol.
Highkey would read a novel of these two. The adventures of Kaito Momota and Nagito Komaeda haha.

I asked @m34gs what she thinks the Twisted Wonderland house warden's favourite video games are. She answered in this ask and prompted me to give my thoughts. So, here I am!
Here are a few ground rules: I'm going to pick games I've personally played or had experience with. Also, if a game is in a series and I think they're very similar, I'm listing them together.
The House Warden's Favourite Video Game
Riddle - Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
Wow, I'm really outing myself with how many Kirby games I've played, huh? Well, I'm not sorry. When I was a child I LOVED Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. I loved the simple world design, the fun, easy mechanics, and the bright colours/music. It's also a fast game. Even as a child I think I beat it in like six hours. Anyways, I think Riddle would enjoy this game for those reasons. It's something he can lose himself in briefly and have fun. I know there are probably better Kirby games out there and newer ones at that, but the childhood nostalgia wins in the end.
Leona - Tetris
I really love your pick of Mahjong for Leona. Honestly, the desire to just go "yeah, what M34GS said" or pick another tactical game like Chess, Checkers, or even Go. But, I decided Tetris is also a good pick for Leona. As you said, Leona isn't one to care too much about video games, so he isn't going for one with story... like I do. He needs a low risk game with just enough puzzling. So, Tetris. It's fun to arrange things, does require some level of strategy, and is very satisfying when you win. Leona can also put it away at any time, so this means he can nap when he's bored or done.
Azul - Don't Starve Together
While I sort of wanted to pick a murder mystery game with Azul, Don't Starve Together has resource management. Which, I think is right up Azul's alley. Sure, the game has a "survive in the wild" vibe, but Azul is there trying to optimize his strategy, gather everything, and not die. He can also play with Jade and Floyd if he wishes, but there is a high chance those two would sabotage him. Azul will take that risk though, and I think those three would have a lot of fun. It's also a casual game, so he can put it away without worry of story or progress.
Kalim - Harvest Moon (any of them)
I agree that Kalim deserves a relaxing, slow game, without much conflict or objectives in it. While I think a game franchise like Animal Crossing also works, since I've never played an Animal Crossing game myself, I'm picking Harvest Moon. I think Kalim would find it very fun to build his farm, befriend the locals, solve whatever problem is occurring, and marry his favourite NPC. I didn't pick a specific Harvest Moon game simply because I only have experience with two: the original and The Tale of Two Towns (I think... I can't check right now). Besides, Harvest Moon all has the same "flavour" so to speak, so I don't think me specifically stating which game is necessary.
Vil - Super Smash Bros (any of them)
I agree that Vil would love a co-op game that he can play with his close friends. I also agree it has to be easy and with low stakes. Sure, SSBs has "meta units" and an entire competitive video game scene with the game, but I think Vil would play this as a party game. It's casual with everyone just picking their favourite characters and stage. There may be some sabotage (a must) and items on (deadly) but in the end, everyone is just playing to have a good time. Who Vil mains is up to you.
Idia - TWEWY/Neo TWEWY
The urge to pick a mobile game like Genshin Impact or an open world game like BoTW or TotK is high, but I want to avoid gacha games in my list and... I've never played BoTW or TotK. Sorry. So, I picked a personal favourite of mine: The World Ends with You and the sequel. I picked this because I think Idia is the kind of person who gets into the story of a game and enjoy the characters. TWEWY has some amazing characters, great story, amazing music, and of course, the essence of Shibuya packaged into the entire game. I also think Idia would love the game play, enjoying swapping his pins out for better ones, and enjoy the extra challenge modes.
Malleus - Pokemon Yellow/Red/Blue (or Green)
Okay, here is the problem: I think any sort of pet simulator game is great for Malleus, however, I dislike pet simulator games. I'm here for story and lore... which I think is the opposite for Malleus. But here is the thing while Pokemon has a narrative and many components it started off super simple: go around and catch Pokemon and go to the gyms. While newer Pokemon games have introduced so many things like Beauty Contests or an open world design, I think the old games are perfect for Malleus. He'd enjoy creating his team and nicknaming them. I bet he'd be delighted to learn that there are dragon type Pokemon in the world too. Sure, he may struggle with some more "meta" components but at least in the older games we didn't have Mega Evolution or newer Gens and BST to worry about.
There you have it! I hope you like my list! I had fun picking the titles while also trying to keep in line with the characters!

So I have been reading you BotW/TotK analysis and I have gotta say that your insight is really impressive. I do have 2 points to make on the subject. Assuming that Calamity Ganon’s (the one that is fought in BotW) purpose is to draw attention to the underground (where Ganondorf’s corpse is) than that has some terrifying implications to how he operated in BotW. If there hero and Princess were successful in sealing away his calamity (which they were), than there is no way that someone like Zelda, who has both curiosity and altruism in spades would ever leave this problem unresolved. She would be determined to seek out the source of the calamity to make sure that no future generations would ever suffer as she and Link did, which in doing so would likely break the seal that was on Ganondorf. And if they failed to stop the calamity than Ganon wins and the calamity would destroy Hyrule (accomplishing his goals).
In regards to TotK, I do believe that Zelda will be physically incapacitated (either dead or in a stasis like state like in SwSd), though she will likely be involved spiritually as there is many ways she tan grow as a character (especially if there are flashbacks to the events 10,000 years ago, and even if she does die, resurrection is something that is present in Zelda so I doubt it will be a permanent death). I have a feeling that the ending will be bittersweet with both Link and Zelda surviving and perhaps breaking the curse of Demise. However I can see the Kingdom of Hyrule being annihilated beyond recovery, bringing additional meaning to “Tears of the Kingdom.”
Anyway love reading your thoughts and predictions of the game, makes the wait for May a lot more bearable.
yeah as to your first point that's exactly what i think is going to happen! because these games operate cyclically when predicting these plot points i'm constantly thinking about what has precedent, and there's a notable precedent in previous cycles for the princess's attempts at resolution to unintentionally lead to more problems for hyrule, forcing the princess to confront her own lack of agency and experience. I think that the calamity is playing into zelda's curiosity and moral compass specifically in beckoning her and link deeper under hyrule castle, knowing that she won't be able to resist trying to confront the problem once and for all but lacks the knowledge that might keep her from unleashing human ganon accidentally.
as for your second point, i sincerely doubt that death going to be zelda's fate in totk. call it optimism, but considering how she's been written up until now i can't see a way that death, even temporary death, would bring a satisfying or thematically cohesive end to her character arc. this is a girl we've seen do nothing but struggle her entire life. She is so, so, SO strong and stubborn and persistent that to cut her life short at seventeen (mentally. we're not getting into the 100 year gap here) just seems like an openly cruel treatment of a character so central to the game. A more cohesive end to her story, narratively, would be to allow her to live and heal when the game is finished, and i hope & believe that this is the direction totk will go. Zelda was the driving force for everything that happened in botw. she is the beginning and end of these games. to remove her from the final chapter completely would be a detriment to both her character and the game as a whole.
I also don't quite agree with the idea that the end of totk will be the complete destruction of hyrule. botw is, at its essence, a story about growth and healing. its characters convey this theme on a smaller scale, but more largely, botw shows us the ways in which hyrule grows and heals around destruction and calamity. to end its sequel with destruction and no hope of recovery is to trample over what made botw so impactful. in my perfect world, totk will end in much the same way as botw--with the promise that link, zelda, and all of hyrule will continue to grow and heal.

stricken by questions in the middle of the night. hateno. do you have any fun facts + what does your link think of it + when did he get there and what happened
OH actually i have a few :D
ALRIGHTY!! for fun facts: on page 98 of creating a champion (you can view it for free) its noted that the people in hateno wear warmer clothes because theyre near a very very cold mountain which is mount lanayru and also it has a nordic aesthetic apparently! because of that once i. do research i think im going to make hateno based a bit off finland just for fun. or poland but poland is more of a personal thing. and also requires research. speaking of being at the base of mt lanayru youve probably seen this but theres little mountain symbols all across hateno (like on the signs, the pots, and some secret back sheds)! the mayors house is referred to as a church in the files (TwnObj_Village_HatenoChurch_A_01) for some reason, likely because it has the hylia statue. ALSO. this isnt confirmed at all but before i was researching those little stacked rocks. theyre up above the signs as well as near the mayors house. im half sure theyre cairns, stacked rocks made by humans thats usually for signalling a hiking trail. this site also sparsely mentions them + has insight into the architecture + the ancient tech labs (though i havent read a lot of it </3). anyways those may just be for fun/for visitors/decoration (i like to think its all of them) + its likely rock balancing. i Did find a site like this and while im inclined to trust it i dont think it applies here. also while prewriting the main ideas i thought there was cairns in goron city? but i cant find them so! yeah maybe theyre in totk otherwise theyre just in hateno and tarrey town. also while its raining karin i believe will read a little book thats in oots/wws opening cutscene style with a little prince in blue riding towards the castle. i think its neat but doesnt have too many implications besides possibly reinforcing some tloz games could be the same legend told over and over like a telephone game. also theres more in the second win mod but i cant play it because. not optimized at least for me. also. lots of footage to go into and i dunno how much was truly added
what does link think of it!!! i think he likes it a bit, especially the inn. its just cozy + both loshlo harbor and hateno beach are just kind of good thinking places. loshlo harbor especially, its just a nostalgic place for him. also i feel like he’d have a lot more use for his house than we’re given in game (custom photos, a journal, a chest so you can put items in to store them ((maybe food)), souvenirs (he’d have a lot of those i think. mainly stealing mugs), and also actually being able to cook in there). to be fair the champions photo being the only item we could place in links house had an effect, but i do want this to be. an actual house. also i think he’d get deja vu from being in the house and the harbor. nothing like stunting or debilitating but he’ll be cutting up vegetables or building a sand castle and for a moment a memory? or an image flashes and in that. thing. hes doing the exact same thing hes doing now. same place same thoughts . though some would be more memory flashes, those would be easier to tell as its not deja vu but . like finishing someones sentence without knowing what theyre going to actually say. and then he realizes ‘WAIT A SECOND’
i think he wouldve gotten there later than normal. miphers was done first, did a bit of traveling (partly because he. didnt know where it was despite the map). he probably got there somewhere after his 2nd-3rd divine beast. funnily enough i think it wouldve taken him a While to find lurilen and the forgotten temple. lurilen especially why would he Go There (he didnt read the signs in faron). he finally gets a house but at the cost of capitalism. once he gets the camera he goes to impa and then he takes a Long detour to get every single memory and without getting (too) sidetracked. he thought a fallen star was one once but it disappeared as it turned day so he never found out what that light was until he saw one physically crash into a hill. he actually mightve done the divine beasts before the camera and is delaying clammy ganon
as soon as he saw the house i think he rushed up to it, because even if it Wasnt his house it shouldnt be destroyed!!!! it was like there was a time limit. he panicked when he didnt have the money (he didnt sell gems or dragon parts at the time…) but he prevailed (selling monster parts). he does not like chopping wood.
when he got there there wasnt much fanfare? everybody thought he was Just Some Guy (he never wears the champions tunic, as well as never using the champions weapons because theyll break). he completely didnt see the guard guy and just. activated the shrine. he would learn of the statue through the small glasses child and would probably talk to the statue more if a heart container wasnt just stolen. if he could save scum he would to avoid the encounter entirely but because he cant he may just. let the statue have it. until extremely later and he talks to it again after years. i think hed show the fireflies to the statue. also i dont think he talked to anyone besides bolson and purah and symin. except for the stolen sheeps person + the shopkeeper. everytime hes there he will Always buy milk rice eggs etc. cooking ingredients are something hed never pass up. he would be a regular of yammo despite her traveling.
though i think he’d spend a lot less time in hateno than you think. its his home but also he likes to travel + have fresh air and places, and also he visits the champions villages more often than not. except for zoras domain unless he Needs to. otherwise he’d still be in lanayru and visit ruta but still be a bit of a distance away. he also doesnt visit goron city a lot though hes less averse to that. also i think he’d like ebon mountain, especially because its behind his house + he gets a good view. he would tell the guy there the actual heart lake location. also i think fairies spawn there at night (both locations)
i think some locations would be there pre cal but arent post cal. i have the excuse of the mayor mentioning that hateno was still built back from the ground (i can get the dialogue if you want!!) . specifically thered be this one hot chocolate place he’d go to that doesnt exist anymore. through a quest he can get the recipe and share it with the elders but yeah. maybe a library and actual church but shrugs
also sometimes i like to think a time capsule was buried in the backyard/under water. however thats neither here or there + it all depends on the au and how the story goes. he would miss his mom and have mixed feelings on his sister (they were also distant believe it or not. but that was his sister). he’d almost have the same reputation as purah for not leaving the house visibly i think and not talking to almost anyone.
also he hasnt dyed any of his clothes. theyre good enough for him 👍. pre cal he wouldve liked dying the act of dying a piece of fabric a lot
ALSO he doesnt hang the champions weapons in his house. he holds onto them and doesnt let go
one more thing: he’d make a note of picnic/quiet spots. theres one near the village but he doesnt really picnic with anyone even pre cal. he mostly just sits there
i will do tarrey town in the next bit!
#HELLO!!!#i . will get to the revali friendship arc. its not at all forgotten and i cant stress thst enough#wreath of the bild#not much happens </3 sorry#its more of a place to go to when he just wants to sleep and Not talk to anyone#also when he wants to retrace a part of his roots and what child him felt even if he can barely remember#even if he doesnt quite remember it his feelings would

THIS! I felt this in my bones but couldn’t put it into words. I ravenously played through TOTK, hoping beyond hope that THIS TIME, we’d actually get to learn a bit of backstory for Ganondorf, but they once again SWEPT him away as an easy Evil. THEY HAD 3 EXTRA YEARS TO WORK ON THIS GAME?!?!?! Was it all put into dick rocket gingerboard men???(admittedly super impressive, and I love that for people who love to build and learn) They even repeated the scene you see in OOT when he is talking to the Hylian King and you’re watching with Zelda. Every scene draws us into the narrative that we’ve already been told. You’re spot on about every narrative in the ancient Champions’ stories all being the same, I started skipping them because I’d already seen that same story, it all felt super rehearsed and coached by them all. Before the game came out, my entire hope was that we’d actually get some back story. Not just a jumbled mess of “Hey now it’s Zelda’s turn to time travel, and once again imprison herself for a multitude of years in servitude of Hyrule, but hey she’s a cool ass dragon, so win win?” I wanted Gerudo lore! Fleshed out and immersive, like, the narrative that they only have ONE male heir every 100 years? Tell me how that works if Ganon was the first, and somehow, every 100 years he’s reborn? What the fuck are the Gerudo, as a race, cursed with that their ONLY male every 100 years, is an “Evil” Ganon??? What happened when he was locked away for the thousand whatever years from the start of Hyrule till TOTK??? No male heirs were born??? When I saw Ganon charge in with Gerudo soldiers at his side ready for the cause, I thought for sure we’d get a new dimension. They even gave us a Furry King.
For such a bloodline as the stuffy King of Hyrule to be based on a hybrid foreigner origin story was a great source of humor for me. I would have even accepted a story line based around Ganon being in love with the Queen and furious that Furry King from another planet(basically) stole her away. SOMETHING. And honestly, I could even accept that Ganon is just “True evil, no motivations other than true evil” Cool, stand by it, prove it. But things just don’t add up? I could see if maybe in OOT the Twin Rova sisters kind of fucked with Ganon a bit too much to make a Gerudo King strong enough to take down Hyrule and release the Gerudo from their desert holdings? But, that still leaves the reasoning. Were the Gerudo forced into the desert? Why did they hate Hyrule so much? That doesn’t usually come from nowhere. Were negotiations attempted, but refused? All of which give more dimension than “True EVIL”. They had SUCH POTENTIAL.
And I’ll just have to die mad about it.
Let me just preface this by saying everyone is allowed to have their own opinions, TOTK is a really fun game, and I'm glad that other people have been able to enjoy the story as well.
...But I'm being dead serious with my complaints about the narrative being 100% imperialist propaganda. And I'm getting really tired of people replying to those posts by saying it can't be imperialist propaganda, because imperialism is bad and the game says that Hyrule is the good guys.
Like, guys. That's not the argument you think it is. Yes, I am aware that the game tells us Ganondorf is a flat, one dimensional character with no ambitions, interests or motivations beyond destroying the entire world for the hell of it, and also it's totally not racist because he's green, not brown like literally every other member of his race. Unfortunately literally all of these things are kind of the entire goddamn problem.
See, the thing is, everyone trying to make these arguments is accepting the game at face value. Hyrule is the perfect and almighty nation chosen by the demigod Zonai, and whose royal family has the right to rule due to their divine heritage. The other races exist to serve the glory of Hyrule, and they're happy to do it. Ganondorf is pure evil and must be stopped at any costs.
But that's not how anything works. The story informing me that Hyrule is the ultimate good that has done nothing wrong is the whole goddamn reason why I don't trust Hyrule at all. There's always more of a reason than that. And the game fucking suggests there was more going on! Ganondorf mentions Rauru has repeatedly 'invited' the Gerudo to become Rauru's subjects, and let's be clear here, it doesn't matter how peaceful those 'invitations' were, when the guy who owns every single magical nuclear missile in the world repeatedly demands you surrender to him, there's always going to be an implied threat of 'do it or get magically nuked'. Just that power difference alone shows us exactly why Ganon would feel threatened enough to invade. It's because Rauru was holding a gun to his head, and Ganon was expected to just trust that he'd never pull the trigger.
And yes, even if it wasn't intentional Hyrule was always threatening to wipe out the other nations, considering the entire royal family walked around openly wearing their magical nukes as cute accessories. If they couldn't be safely hidden away, there wouldn't be four other secret stones sitting untouched in a vault until the last second.
But that's never acknowledged. Of course Hyrule is the only nation with the right to the secret stones; even if other races get to touch them, they can only have them if they swear eternal blind loyalty and servitude to the glory of King Rauru and Princess Zelda. Ganon wanting to have one magical nuclear bomb out of a stockpile of eight of them is proof that he's dangerous and evil. I mean my god, what if he just walked around all day wearing a magical nuke and using its power for his own benefit, that would be terrifying. It's only okay when Hylian royalty does it.
And you can't argue that Ganon betrayed his own people, considering we don't get to know fucking anything about his relationship with his people. He's shows as the leader of the Gerudo, we're told he's a hero to his people, he has soldiers that loyally follow him into battle... and then oh nevermind, they all hate him and will spend eternity trying to atone for sharing a race with him. How did the entire race do a complete 180 in the span of at most a few months? Who cares, what's important is that now they accept they exist to serve Hyrule so they get to be the good guys now and we don't need to know why they were following Ganondorf, or why they stopped following him.
Basically my point is that yeah, I fucking know how the game insists everything went down. That's the entire reason I think it's imperialist propaganda, because the entire story feels like Hylian propaganda to conceal and justify some horrific atrocities that caused all of this. I literally do not believe that I'm getting the story through reliable narrators, especially considering that the only people allowed to actually tell me the story are all the characters that have the most reasons to be heavily biased in favour of Hyrule.
When the game shows me protagonists that have a massive amount of power and control over the entire world, then says the bad guy doesn't like that system just because he's evil, and literally nothing and nobody in the game says anything to oppose that take, I have some questions about what the fuck the story isn't telling me. And I'd really appreciate it if people would stop trying to argue with me just by telling me to stop asking those questions.

finished totk yesterday. what a shit note to end the series on up to this point, and my own over-year-long journey through all of these games. my thoughts i guess under the cut
genuinely. i hated totk. it's a bloated, sloppy, messy version of botw. there are systems that are so clunky they ruin every other system in the game.
the most amount of enjoyment i got was from 2 cutscenes (link retrieving the master sword and ruaru's sacrifice), and the ending sequence where you have to dive for zelda. that last part only because i waited it out, hoping the game would have a unique game over state. instead it just froze us in mid-air and didn't force me to do anything while music looped. i burst out laughing.
the story is full of holes, and it is so frustrating having link explain that he's looking for zelda when both him and i know exactly where zelda is beacuse i've done the fucking memories. every fucking sage having the imprisoning war explained to them over and over. ganondorf saying 'haha i tricked you' when like bro i've known for HOURS that you're not zelda. i've known since the first bloodmoon. fuck off dickhead. also, i thought one of the themes was going to be sacrifice. like. link sacrificed his arm trying to save zelda, zelda sacrificed her body to become the light dragon and restore the master sword, ruaru sacrificed his life to keep ganondorf from winning and delaying his return until link could stop him once and for all.
and then link and zelda's sacrifices are undone in the same cutscene. all for nothing. literally, the only thing different about hyrule is the sky islands now. everything else is the exact same.
and i just have to wonder. what was the point? like genuinely what's the point of this game? i didn't have fun with it. the writing is bad. they missed a perfect opportunity to have ruaru as a companion (why the fuck was he at the ending if his spirit was gone after the great sky island?).
it was genuinely a miserable fucking experience. i can't believe i paid money for this game. the point at which my opinion turned was the fire temple. that piece of shit dungeon broke literally any good will i had towards this game. and then the water temple and getting to it fucked it all over again.
the tone is scatter shot and all over the place and i guess the main theme is friendship and teamwork? even though the sages are fucking useless mechanically and thematically, they all get knocked out in ganondorf's third phase and then don't do anything until the post-credits scene.
i can't help but compare it to botw. that game is quiet and melancholic. we're a hundred years post a world ending event, scars still fresh and wounds haven't healed. all the champions are dead but you avenge them, and even the confrontation with ganon is muted. maybe because he didn't have a voice? idk i feel voice acting just hurts the game lol.
this is all, so frustrating to me because like. these games hold a special significance to me, they're my late friend's favourite game series and so they mean a lot to me. but, and i hate to say this and it sounds stupid, totk feels like it spits on his memory. i'm not sure even he'd like this game.
anyway to wrap up this laundry list of complaints and thoughts: bad game, terrible sequel to BoTW even though i don't much like that one either but it's still better, please don't make another open world zelda game, it doesn't work for this series.
I don't know, but I do know one thing: I'm very tired.
#yaki talki#totk#totk spoilers#don't come at me w/ your arguements i will just block you#i hate this game. i genuinely mean that#i don't tend to actively hate games because i always see some value or something in them#i can't even say that for totk. the best thing it's given me is ruaru art.#im so tired. i cannot believe i paid money to have just a completely miserable experience

It's kind of weird. I'm a massive Final Fantasy fan. Huge.
Like...I'm even a fan of the XIII trilogy (which is actually one of my favs in the series) and I know that's an uncommon badge to wear.
But I wasn't that hyped for XVI.
Maybe it was the focus on action orientated gameplay (which is still something I work past in games, not play for) or that the marketing seemed designed to appeal to new gamers instead of existing fans of the series.
But, after the initial announcement, I've not really paid any attention to trailers, marketing or announcements. I didn't really crave any information or look forward to the release. I didn't even preorder the game until last week.
It wasn't until I watched a stream playthrough of the demo that I really thought 'oh...this game not only looks good but it looks interesting and exciting'.
I was pretty certain that TOTK was going to win GOTY prior to seeing the XVI demo. Now I'm not so sure.
Compared to TOTK, which I've been bouncing out of my chair for since it was announced (despite only really getting into Zelda with BOTW and two years late on that), the difference in my emotional attachment to it has been immense.
I'm still not going to play the demo myself. I think the gameplay is going to still be the biggest struggle for me so I would rather play the game on release and work out the controls as I go in at steady pace instead of try them and then pick them up again a week later.
But I am now wishing that I had some more time off closer to release. I'm wishing I'd invested some time into developing that prerelease hype. And I'm really, really hoping that this game is going to give me a whole new world and characters to adore for years to come.
