I’m going to go back and look but between the end of s1 act 1 where Jayce and Viktor newly met and when Viktor runs off to become the Machine Herald is there a single scene where Jayce doesn’t physically touch Viktor?

Heimerdinger once told Jayce and Viktor “A decade will pass before you know it, in the blink of an eye.”
What he failed to realize was that the men he was talking to wouldn’t even get a decade together.

Arcane Headcanon #253
With his (canonical) love of spiced “sweet milk” you know Viktor would be the one guy at the Christmas party getting sloshed on the spiked eggnog.
Jayce: (watching on in horror with a bow someone stuck in his hair from the gift exchange).

No but for real can someone tell me how the night when Viktor collapsed in the lab and Jayce was with Mel how did he seemingly realize something was wrong and leave before daybreak to get to his boy?
Because they don’t have modern cell phones and no one knew Jayce was at Mel’s right? How did he know?

Viktor recognized his fatal flaw and almost saved the world from the existence of the Machine Herald by being willing to die rather than have the irresistible temptation of the hexcore continue to exist.
His mistake was not realizing he entrusted that destruction to Jayce, the one person whose fatal flaw was being unable to let Viktor go.

How Viktor waking up from the being changed by the Hexcore should have gone.
Viktor: “I’m not mad, I’m not mad.”
Jayce: “‘Cause you look mad.”
Viktor: No no no It’s just… I told you to destroy the hexcore but apparently you heard, DO NECROMANCY!”

Jayce: "Hey Viktor I was just telling Vi about that time you tried to convince Mel you were trying "to take me to bed" to get out of sneaking into Heimerdinger's office."
Viktor: (not even looking up) "Oh yes I remember, it was definitely an awkward position to be caught in I was right in the middle of sliding my key into that lock."
(Intense sputtering from Jayce and laughing from Vi.)

I will never be over Viktor and his emotional support blanket. Like I get the symbolism but it’s hard to take his master plan too seriously at any given time when you realize.
————-
Viktor (a 100 foot tall semi-omnipotent hive mind god): “I have superseded the shackles of emotion and will bring glorious evolution to all the peoples of the realm.”
Jayce: “Hold on, what is that you’re wearing as cape? Is that… is that MY blanket?”
Viktor (sheepish): “…so.”

All my money for a fanfic about what happened between Jayce finding Viktor after the bombing and Jayce using the hexcore and Viktor's notes to try and save him.

Arcane voice casting director probably: “Oh so we’re going the brother direction with those characters, it’s THAT kinda thing, say less I know the perfect actor for Viktor.” (Calls up an actor famous for playing a Targaryen)

You know, with Jayce and Caitlyn being like siblings and Vi dating Caitlyn… The vibe Jayce and and Vi really bring to the table is the two bro in-laws on Thanksgiving who decide to deep fry the turkey only for it too explode.
Caitlyn: (watching with Viktor from a distance concerned) “Are you sure they know what they’re doing?”
Viktor: “Relax, Jayce is a scientist…” (pre-emptively dialing 9-1-1.)

Jayce: "You used me, me and Viktor for Hextech, for power."
Mel: "I'm going to be real with you here. I get that you are mad about your boy turning into a Maniacal Mecha Wizard. But I literally taught you how playing politics works why are you shocked I did my job?"

What if the reason why future wizard Viktor told Jayce he had to kill his past self was just that he was frustrated and pissed seeing his former self wreck the world over and over while searching for a solution to stop his past self.
Arcane Wizard Viktor: “Jayce, you must kill me before you can save me.”
Jayce: “What why?”
Arcane Wizard Viktor: “Because fuck that guy.”

TW: discussion of suicide and suicidal ideation.
———————————-
So I had a thought before I went to sleep about Viktor’s near suicide attempt in the first season and the probable reasons behind it.
I can think of several (guilt over Sky’s death, hopelessness after realizing all his life’s work on the Hexcore had to end and feeling he couldn’t fix anything with the time he had left etc). But part of me wonders if the reason he was thinking about it was slightly more based in logic.
Viktor had decided the hexcore needed to be destroyed at that point, do you think he’d decided he needed to die too because it had in some ways already become part of him and that needed to be destroyed to? (He told Jayce later he was supposed to die after all).
Do you think after deciding not to go though with it he continued to hide his alterations in part not only because he knew he’d need help from someone else to destroy the hexcore but also because he didn’t want Jayce to figure out that part of his plan?
Final thought: What if he had jumped? would it have changed what happened to him in any real way? I can imagine Jayce arriving a few moments too late and upon seeing Viktor’s body doing exactly what he did in panic and grief after the bombing of the council chambers.
Do you think there’s a universe where that was the version of the inevitable cycle for those two?

The actual narrative reason VI and and Jayce are such a disaster duo is probably that they both just have a tendency to act without fully thinking things through. And when you put two personalities like that together they tend to hype each other up when they get an idea and double that energy overloading their individual natural sense.
TLDR: They both assume the other is driving the airship (thinking things through) and don’t notice there’s no pilot till they’re crashing.

On Jayvik, some people say it’s gay, some people say it’s not. What I want to know is how uncomfortable are the Chinese censors…

Jayce (talking to AU Jayce): “So how did you end up in prison?”
AU Jayce: “It was aweful actually I failed to secure a very unstable magic crystal and it exploded killing a little girl.”
Jayce: “…”
AU Jayce: “I’m sorry that must be horrifying to hear causing something like that to happen to a kid, I’m sure you’ve never done anything like that.”
Jayce: *sweating* (war flashbacks)
