gn!reader x bf!atz
wc. ~0.8k
an: this goes so well with the new wanteez episode, I wrote this even before it was announced though. you can request headcanons if you want to!! if you want to be tagged in any of my fics you can apply here <3
masterlist
hongjoong
-doesn't really want to go out in the first place, but doesn't want you to go without him either
-so in the end he'll end up going with you to keep an eye on you
-matching outfits, that don't really match (if that makes sense)
-he says that he can handle alcohol, but he can't, so he will be the first to get drunk
-like a weird drunk?? he does things he normally wouldn't do, like dance like a crackhead in the middle of the crowd
-when someone is looking at you, his scorpio is coming out, he places his hands somewhere on your body, usually on your hips, so everybody can see you are his
seonghwa
-that one person everybody likes to be around and dance with
-he always wants to pay, but you agreed to take turns on paying for the drinks
-knows the actual choreos for the songs, and having a full-on concert
-very light-weighted, cute tipsy type, just gets tired very quickly
-even there, he tries to take care of you, makes sure you don't drink too much or don't feel uncomfortable
-always accompanies you to the bathroom, he can't let you go alone anywhere
-he definitely is the best dressed there, no doubt
yunho
-ohh the life of the party, it's not even a party until he doesn't arrive
-dances all night long, with you, with friends, with strangers, with everybody
-becomes friends with the DJ, and has his own little part at the party, when he plays songs
-dances on the table with you, holds you tight, so you don't fall off
-handles alcohol very well, you can't even tell the difference between his real personality and when he's drunk
-can hardly be dragged home, you have to at least tell him you want to leave 30 minutes earlier, so he can say goodbye to all the people
yeosang
-this boy is so adorable, he couldn't say no to you when you invited him to a party
-but he hates it, when you arrive, he feels so uncomfortable, you have to buy him like 3 drinks at least, so he can feel better
-you ask him if he wants to go home, but it's too late now, the drinks kicked in, and he's feeling himself
-dancing with you in the crowd, doesn't care about anyone else, like really tiny dance
-you've never seen him like this before, or anybody, he talks a lot when he is drunk
-the next time he is the one asking if you want to go out because last time he had so much fun
san
-he was excited to go out with you, to see you all dressed up and having fun
-he stays at the bar staring at you while you are dancing and having the time of your life
-gets you a drink every now and then, he brings it to you and leaves a peck on your cheeks with it
-claimed that he is very good at drinking (he is not)
-dead stares everyone whos looking at you inappropriately, acts immediately if someone is trying to dance with you
-watching you for so long, he can't control himself, pulls you aside to the bathroom and...(you know)
mingi
-he can't handle alcohol at all, he says he can, but everyone can tell if he had even one drink
-wants to buy a drink for everybody at the club, and thinks he is friends with everyone
-just vibing to the music, might break dance if he had a little too much to drink
-feels the urge to tell everyone you are his beautiful girlfriend/boyfriend, and talking about how much he loves and adores you, istg it's so embarrassing
-might cry at the end, because looking at your face made him emotional
-that's when you call the taxi
wooyoung
-social butterfly, somehow already knows everybody, introduces you to his friends as "the love of my life"
-having a drink with every friend he met there while having a quick convo, you can't even tell that he's been drinking
-you need to beg him to finally go dancing, he is such a tease, even when he dances with you
-places one of his hands on your neck, and makes you look straight into his eyes while you dance, he knows exactly what he's doing
-you wanted to kiss him multiple times, but he never let you do it, always pulled his head away, and smirked
-on the way home, a full-on make-out session in the car, from the build-up tension
jongho
-you've never seen him this hyped, he is all smiley (I love his smile so much ㅠㅠ)
-having really good party tricks you never knew about, he's showing off for sure, but he only cares about your reaction and nobody else's
-keeping you close to him, either holding your hands or having his arms around your shoulders
-protecting your drink while you have a toilet break
-when you try to pay for a drink he gets sulky because he wants to pay for everything, so in the end of course you can't say no to him
-carrying you home on his back, because your feet hurt from dancing too much

Tomorrow X Together's Yeonjun on solo release: 'I'm going to keep challenging myself'
Yeonjun of popular K-pop group Tomorrow X Together isn't one to shy away from a challenge. Over the last five years, the Korean performer has built a reputation alongside his four bandmates as a versatile all-rounder who can execute any choreography or genre thrown his way.
"When I was young, I just purely loved music and dance, and that love is all I had. After it became my career, music became a source of both joy and sometimes stress for me," Yeonjun tells USA TODAY. "Still, I feel like music takes such a big part of my life. I think music is what allows me to be really free and really express myself as I am."
Now, the 25-year-old is taking a new step in his evolving career. Yeonjun released his first solo mixtape, "GGUM," Sept. 19.
"I'm super excited, but at the same time, I'm kind of nervous," he says. "This is my first time doing a solo project, I do feel a bit of a pressure, and I feel responsible for doing a good job."
Curating 'GGUM' and its concept
"I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my artistry, expand my different musical performances," Yeonjun shares. "During the middle of the US tour, we started talking about this project, and we slowly built on that."
"GGUM" and its feature track highlight Yeonjun's vibrant tonality. The hip-hop inspired song is bold and dynamic, commanding attention from the second you hit play. So how'd it get its name?
"I was actually chewing on gum when I was in the car, and it just came to me all of a sudden," Yeonjun reveals.
When you're chewing gum, you can exude a certain swagger and confidence, he says. "I think that vibe really suited me well, and I thought it was a perfect concept for my first solo project," Yeonjun adds.
"GGUM" is striking in its lyrics, sonics and performance – "Blow and spit out a banger, this song's now stuck in your head," Yeonjun raps. His flow is fierce and unfaltering, while the choreography is kinetic and intense. Yeonjun helped develop the track's dance.
youtube
Facing challenges solo: 'It was no walk in the park'
Yeonjun's first solo project tested his mettle.
"Honestly speaking, I thought I was ready for this, but then I realized after working on it, that it was no walk in the park," he shares.
"It was really difficult. It was very challenging to do the vocals, the rap and the dance all at once. I tried doing everything at the same time. It's very tiring. So while working on the choreo and the song, I came to really respect solo artists," Yeonjun adds.
But Yeonjun's experiences with a group helped him along the way. "I think only because I am part of Tomorrow X Together – and I've been through so much together with them – that's why I could try this. I could take on this challenge," he says.
"If I weren't in the team, I don't think this would have been possible," Yeonjun adds.
Even though Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai are not performing alongside him, Yeonjun felt their support.
"I did feel a lot of stress, a lot of pressure, sometimes to the point that it almost scared me. Whenever I was met with those emotions, the bandmates would come to me, they would give me a lot of words of encouragement and boost my self-confidence and self-assurance," he says. "Thanks to them, I could pull it off and finish this journey."
Yeonjun vows to 'keep challenging myself'
Yeonjun hopes "GGUM" can be a "pleasant shock to everyone." He has already established his identity through TXT, but this mixtape allows him peel back another layer.
"I hope that the people would feel that I'm bringing something new to the table," Yeonjun says. "I think it's a new start for me and a new challenge that I took on. It really means the world to me."
Yeonjun will continue to build upon the foundation he has previously laid, whether it's with Tomorrow X Together or on his own.
"I want to keep pushing my musical boundaries and make sure that I expand my artistic spectrum, and I'm going to keep challenging myself," he says.

CATS: The Jellicle Ball Summary
Sourced from my (admittedly imperfect) memory. I love this production, and this is an abridged summary of my memory of the events of the show. Specific/detailed character thoughts will be saved for their own posts, same with thematic deep dives. If there is any character/theme/question y'all want my thoughts on first, I can move them to the top of my queue of thoughts. That being said: on with the show!
Tumblr decided to post early, so this is just Act 1. I will add Act 2 as a reblog when I finish it
Pre-Show
The set for this show is really well done. Talked to one of the workers during intermission, and the whole thing (seating, stage, and all) is completely modular and movable. Floor levels are also all adjustable. It really inclines itself to audience interaction, both with the runway structure and the individual tables at the cabaret level seats.
Junior Labeija handles the pre-show announcements (put your phones away once you've googled me, cheer your heart out, don't film, etc)
Overture
Hearing this live for the first time made me cry
The DJ's introduction is great, he has a collection of queer and black artists' vinyls that he pulls out, followed by a Cats vinyl filled with glitter
The eyes (projected up onto the back wall/window panel) have the white cat solo animated inside of them
Shadow outline of a dancer (I think Primo/Tumble on the night I saw) starting out w/ ears and a tail doing classic Cats-style choreo blending into a removal of the ears/tail and a shift to ballroom choreo
Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats
Did the thing I love for this song where there are clear and well-timed spotlights on every cat as they sing their line, w/ everyone else in darkness
Cast appears throughout the audience (Tugger was behind me at his start, I think) before gathering into the area around the stage
Get onto stage for the Mystical Divinity section
The group catwalk is absolutely gorgeous, this show has great choreo
The Naming of Cats
The perfection of this song for a queer viewing of Cats cannot be overstated, and will likely be its own post eventually
Munk as an MC leading this number is lovely to me
"Man over there" is given to Macavity, as the first clear indication to his altered role in this version
There are spotlights on every cat whose name gets said in the song, not just Bombalurina, which makes me happy
White Cat Solo
Gets its own segment because Baby is that good. She is dance captain for this show and you can see why
The white outfit here is gorgeous, kinda sad she changes out of it later
Pink lighting is doing good work making this section feel ethereal
Was way closer to the vibes of the original than I was expecting from a vogue choreo. There were a couple moves I saw as clear references to the original
Invitation
Emcee Munk continues to be amazing, the rhythm of this was very satisfying
"COME OUT tonight"
They bring in guest judges to sit until Old Deut arrives
Gumbie Cat
Jenny is a tired single mother of three kids who cannot for the life of them get organized
Puerto Rican drag queen Jennyanydots has my heart, as does her stylist
The "sits and sits and sits" line here is not used to imply that Jenny is lazy, it is very explicitly saying that she has a lot of sex (as acted out jokingly by her choreo)
Cassandra is adorable here, both while dancing and after she realizes she's won
Category Is: Virgin Vogue. A category for people in their first year of doing vogue (or similar). Won by Cassandra of House Dots, other competitors are Tumblebrutus of House Dots, Electra 007, and someone I am currently forgetting
The Rum Tum Tugger
I think I've made my love for this setup for Tugger clear before, and will continue to do so in the future, so this is gonna be little moments I liked/noticed
There are some line/blocking switch ups. Bomba gets the "terrible bore" line (said reclined on the stage as Tugger leans over her) along with her standard. Victoria is the girl flirting with Tugger on his "No" drop
Tugger flirts with everyone here. His competition, the other cats, the audience, etc.
Everyone but Misto, who is off to the side mocking his riffs
Sillabub is the one to faint during the ending bit
Category Is: Realness. Ability to pass as a (in this case) a cishet man in a variety of categories (pretty boy, thug, schoolboy, executive, etc). Won by Tugger, other competitors are Tumblebrutus and Mungojerrie
Grizzabella the Glamour Cat
I really like the interpretation of the Jellicles' relationship with Grizz in this show. They aren't angry at her, more...distressed? It seems like her being around is making everyone worried both about her and for her, so they react differently
Munk tries to give her money, she refuses
She comes in holding a trophy that is clearly old, showing that her glory days were a while ago. She also looks like she's likely been homeless.
Demeter's voice is gorgeous here, and she looks really conflicted about Grizz
There is a Demelurina vibe to this whole show, which I started noticing here
I have a lot of thoughts on Grizz and her relationships with the Jellicles here, which will probably be a post pretty soon after this one.
Grizz tries and fails to convince the judges to allow her to compete, and is far more determined/steely in this first appearance than usual.
Sillabub. Making them a giant Grizzabella fan was such a good choice. This is one of the most sweet and genuine through-lines of the musical. They're so genuinely remorseful and excited to see Grizz, but still back off when Demeter warns them.
Bustopher Jones
I know I gave Jenny my heart earlier, but it's been stolen. Nonbinary Bustopher Jones as played by Nora Schell is, I think, the ideal Bustopher. This is what this character was meant to be, for me
Oh gods the costumes. Tugger has a sparkly leopard print jockstrap. Bustopher has a full bustier situation covered in a bedazzled Union Jack. Mistoffelees and Demeter both have lovely sheer situations going on. This is amazing, and I've been informed is even better if you're bi
Nora Shell has pipes, y'all. Their voice is so strong and clear
This number has almost no true choreography, it's just the competitors showing off how hot they are (posing, strutting, stripping, grabbing their asses and shaking them at the judges, etc)
The amount of offense Tugger takes to losing is hilarious to me
Category Is: Body. Usually divided into Femme Queen and Butch Queen, but competed as an Open-to-All for this show. How good does your body look, and how well can you show it off? Won by Bustopher Jones, other competitors are Tugger, Demeter, and Mistoffelees.
Macavity Scare 1
Flashing lights and sirens
Demeter is so done with this. I have rarely heard a clearer "bitch really?" tone than I did in her calling Macavity's name here
Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer
Making them come from Jersey is amazing, top tier choice paired with some amazing accent work
Costumes are again amazing, Mungoteazer have a lime green/neon pink color scheme going on here
They spend a long time behind some changing racks, and I spent that whole time watching Munk as he got more and more annoyed with every passing second
I really love the dancing in this song, they get very up in each other's faces
Y'all, they steal the trophy when they lose. It's perfect
Category Is: Tag Team Performance. Vogue performance done as a pair. Won by Victoria and Tumblebrutus, stolen by Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer.
Old Deuteronomy
Munkustrap: a professional, on his shit, announcing his House Father right
Tugger: unprepared, eating a snack, oh god why is he giving me the mic
I love the setup for the duet here, Tugger is so surprised to be picked and is both nervous and honored. They sing into the same mic y'all
Andre De Shields, what more do I need to say?
His presence, his voice, the note he held for a solid 30 seconds, he deserves that throne
Jellicle Ball
Macavity again! In his dressing gown, with his bags of stolen stuff, looking like a deer in headlights when the spotlight catches him
The dancing continues to be absolutely gorgeous
Grizzabella is up on an audience balcony for this number looking tragic
The Jellicle Moon is a disco ball and it brought me so much joy
Munk has a killer egyptian look, including full-size wings
There are giant complicated cat face wigs and a giant hat made of hair
Category Is: Bizarre. Fashion category judged on the quality and strangeness of the outfit. Munkustrap was the only competitor, and Old Deut chopped him
Category Is: Hair. Not a category I actually know, but clearly in this show is judging based on the size, design, and quality of wigs. Won by the House of Dots, as sole competitors
Probably other categories I didn't notice clearly enough to remember
Memory
Grizzabella comes on and everyone walks off annoyed, except for Old Deut who comes and hides behind a riser. He's right in front of me, so I'm watching this number over his shoulder
Grizz recreating her dance moves is painful for my heart, as usual
Tempress has a gorgeous voice
Sillabub re-enters and looks so starstruck, then runs off again
Comes back with a sparkly dress to offer to Grizz
Grizz sees the dress, starts crying, and runs away. She grabs her coat, but leaves her scarf
We go to intermission on the image of Sillabub holding the scarf to their face and crying

The Killa Choreography: Commentary and Analysis
So, the day has arrived where we finally know what The Killa looks like on stage! It was Yeonjun and Soobin's first time performing this unit song, and we all knew it would be something sexy when it was released last month. If you don't know the song, well, you don't even need to take a glance at the lyrics to catch the vibe. But in case you're curious, there's lines like "tame me and fill me up with you" and "you're dominating me" so…you can imagine what sort of attention this track got and the anticipatory hype leading up to the concert. It seemed every fan had one question on their mind, namely What would this performance look like?
What I find interesting about this stage is that it easily could have been a track paired with sensual choreography for the audience - you know, your standard kpop fan service platter full of the Sexy Boyfriend fantasy where fans are meant to believe their idols are singing about wanting them. And yet it took a surprisingly creative direction by yes, clearly having a sensual dance with your typical kpop fan service elements, but (contrary to my expectations!) communicating first and foremost a sensual story through the choreography. Let's take a look.
The choreo starts with Soobin and Yeonjun approaching each other from opposite ends of the stage, wearing opposite colored clothing (black and white). More on that in a moment. First, I'd like to direct your attention to the screen behind them, which depicts large mirrors encasing their walk on the stage.
The utilization of mirrors as a visual design feature is really cool for a track containing this much lust because mirrors, while symbolically serving many purposes, tend to represent the duality of self: we check the mirror to assure that who we see in the reflection is an acceptable version of us who we can present to the world; that nothing noticeably flawed or unsatisfactory comes beneath the surface. As such, mirrors force us to acknowledge our duality and assuage our two opposing sides (light and dark). There's a quote I really love by Michelle Arch that captures this sentiment well: "Through mirrors we see our cognizant, social, 'better' self and the natural world in which we live, while also glimpsing, and sometimes succumbing to, the darker, depraved image of our subconscious 'second' self and the frightening, otherworldly realm in which it resides".
Given that this song relies heavily on communicating lust and our narrator's obsessive desire to be controlled - what one would consider the dark and depraved subconcious - the use of mirrors alongside the clothing color contrast was an excellent creative choice! While color theory suggests that white is a typical color for innocence, and black is characteristic for, well, all things dark and corrupt, I think this color choice was used more strongly to represent the opposite push and pull energy we're about to witness between them, as well as the aforementioned duality they exhibit.
Once they reach each other on stage, Soobin gently reaches out and rests his hand below Yeonjun's chin. Then, in sync with the beat, he gracefully glides his hand away while singing "Tame me, please", as Yeonjun's gaze follows his hand.
This moment intrigued me not just because it's that typical txt homoeroticism coming through lol but because it sets up a story. A fan on Twitter made an exciting point, namely that Yeonjun, by hypnotically following Soobin's hand, is the character in this performance who is initially being tamed. And so starts a cat and mouse chase of each character confessing their desire and tantalizingly pushing and pulling away from each other.
They break away from each other but Yeonjun keeps his eyes on Soobin as his body is sliding away. He sings: "I'm craving it more and more, you know I want you bad, show me mercy"
Right before we transition to Soobin's part, they point at each other and say "The moment that we found each other in our eyes".
I thought the pointing at each other was significant because this easily could have been turned into a kpop fan service thing where they point at the audience while saying those lines, but instead this motion acknowledges that they're referring to each other, further emphasizing that this is a performance between two impassioned characters who are seeking each other. Soobin says right after this "Want you to tame me now [...] I'll serve you." It's clear now that this is a conversation.
They slowly move towards one another and I absoluteoy love the detail of Yeonjun grabbing the hem of his shirt as if he's being involuntarily pulled towards Soobin.
When they are within reach of each other, Yeonjun glides his hand across Soobin's chest and they both delve into the chorus choreography.
The chorus part feels more fan servicey to me because rather than facing each other, they are side by side hip thrusting while facing the audience. Perhaps it would've gotten a touch too erotic if they went there lol (after all wasn't the age requirement for his conert 9 and up or something??).
They transition out of the chorus by circling one another and sizing each other up.
Then they whip out the finger guns at each other once again while the lyrics center again on wanting to be dominated and it's "only you". If that weren't enough, they point at each other AGAIN repeatedly during the series of "you, you, you"s playing in the song.
I'm also a little in love with the detail of Soobin placing his hand on Yeonjun's shoulder as Yeonjun sings "Yes, I belong to you". I'm reaching my image limit so I'm just going to include a nice mirroring detail towards the end where Yeonjun rests his hand on Soobin's shoulder, an apparent callback to earlier. Perhaps a confirmation that these characters affirm they now belong to each other?
In conclusion, this performance surprised me more than I expected (and I know they'll get a bit more bold for this stage once they hit their US tour stops). I know that some could argue that placing two members into a sensual choreography with each other is a form of fan service and I agree to an extent, but I'd also counter by saying that that perspective disregards the creativity and craft put into the choreography. This isn't sexy for the sake of being sexy. It's sexy because it's intertwining the song's overt sensuality with characters embodying that lust.
Overall, I'd say the choreography has shifted my perspective of the song. I used to see it as one voice communicating wanting one abstract idea of a person but now I see Soobin and Yeonjun's verses as two separate conversations that their characters are having with each other. Everyone thank our little freak Taehyun for contributing to the songwriting on this. Gonna have to find out who to thank for the choregraphy. In the meantime, did you notice anything in the performance that I didn't touch on that you wated to discuss? How about screaming into the void with me? Thanks for reading and I'm looking forward to day 2 already!

Giving BLACKPINK solos to TWICE members
Hello! I realized BLACKPINK has 9 solos total a while ago, but that will change when ROCKSTAR comes out later this week so I decided to just post this now.
NAYEON - SOLO
Since Nayeon is the first member to get a solo, I thought it's fitting she gets the first BP solo. The style matches her really well and I can imagine her singing it.
JEONGYEON - All Eyes On Me
Her voice type matches Jisoo's pretty well, and I think she would really appreciate deeper/darker lyrics.
MOMO - MONEY
I was stuck between either of Lisa's solos for her, but I decided to go with Money since I think it fits her better, especially the iconic dance.
SANA - FLOWER
Even though Sana's and Jisoo's voices are very different, I think Flower fits her well. Everything from the styling to the song would suit her.
JIHYO - Hard to Love
I think this song fits her really well. The vibe reminds me of Nightmare and the lyrics of both songs are a warning to a (future/past) lover. She would effortlessly pull it off.
MINA - LALISA
Okay, this is kind of random, since Lalisa is all about showing off, which is really different from what we usually see from Mina. I think she could really pull it off though, and it would be a great opportunity to show a more confident side of herself.
DAHYUN - Gone
Yeah, she also wrote a song called Gone lol. I genuinely think she would do justice to this song with her soft and emotional vocals.
CHAEYOUNG - On The Ground
Yes, I gave Chaeyoung's song to Chaeyoung lol. I think the lyrics are OTG's strong point, and I also think she would appreciate the nostalgic feel they have. I think the song and concept in general fit her well, and I can visualize her playing the guitar at the start.
TZUYU - You & Me
Even though You & Me sounds a bit simpler compared to the others, I think Tzuyu really fits the song down to a T (lol). If she covered it, it would really sound like her own, from the styling to the choreo, even the rap.
Conclusion
Welp, that's what I think. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions, and don't forget to tune in to ROCKSTAR on Thursday/Friday (depending on ur timezone), and to DIVE on July 17. Bye!
(Psst. All photo credits go to rightful owners. I just found all of these on Pinterest.)

joining the thoughts on golden hour part 1 bandwagon bc oh boy i have thoughts
obviously my expectations were kinda high bc it's ateez we're talking about here and that this is actually my first comeback ever. none of the title tracks have disappointed me so far – and thats not to say i was disappointed with work. but i would say it's... underwhelming.
i mean, after the world series with guerilla, halazia, bouncy and crazy form, how do you expect me to process the whiplash that is work? we got all these intense songs and performances, hammering in the outlaw concept then... work. this album. there's a reason why i was surprised to hear this is a hip-hop themed comeback bc it's not that it doesnt suit ateez, i was excited to see how they would mess with the genre, but. work sounds like a song another group can pull off. sonically, at least.
i'd like to think that work is a milestone for all their achievements thus far, like "hey we made it this far bc we hustled" and i still think that but it could've been theirs. but this sound isn't theirs. at least not yet, if theyre planning to mess with it in the future too.
i liked the beat when they first leaked it and i still like it. but throughout the whole song, it's just that. it's just one beat. im not saying it cant sound good (360 by charli xcx is a good example) and im not saying it's not good but like i said: it's underwhelming. the mv kinda saves it bc i absolutely adore how chaotic and funny it is but i wish the song itself couldve lived up to the whole chaos of the visuals.
im not gonna talk about the intro bc the intro is just the intro. let's talk about blind. when i listened to the preview, my first thought was "wow they should play this in the world cup" and i was still thinking that when i listened to the whole thing for the first time. then i listened to it with the lyrics and i thought "wowie it's a love song i see". but to put it simply, i like it but thats about it. i wouldn't skip it but i don't lose my mind or put it at the top of my rankings like everyone has been apparently doing.
moving on to empty box, i wasn't expecting to like it much when i listened to it in the preview bc i'm not a fan of slow songs/ballads usually but when i first listened to it on release... it became my first favorite of the album. this is what i mean by they can do simple good and they can make it theirs. even though the song does remind me of another song/artist (ive been struggling to figure out what/who exactly though...), it's not bc it's a song anyone else can do. they took a genre and made it theirs. that's how you own it. the lyrics also hit close to home and i find them incredibly moving.
next is shaboom. this was my initial favorite from when i listened to the preview and i was looking forward to how the whole thing sounds like and well, i wasn't blown away but i do enjoy it. i like the goofy intro and the first verses are fun, like i can imagine a silly mv where they're hosting a house party and inviting you to join in on the festivities. i can't really remember the verses after the first chorus though (idk why but im struggling to remember the non-chorus parts in this album despite looping it for a few times already) but i do like it. more than blind at least.
lastly, siren. my current favorite. ive been looping the fuck outta this song. it is actually so good but i'm not really surprised bc this, alongside empty box, are the ones that allegedly had more time spent on them (hell, siren was battling crazy form to become the title track for the world ep fin will). this is how good they can be when they actually take their time, this is who ateez is supposed to be. and im not lying nor exaggerating when i say this should been the title track for this comeback. i can already imagine the mv, the choreo, the stages that they can do if this was the title track. i sincerely believe that this song is like a mix of bouncy (mostly the vibes), outlaw and crazy form which you should know is a banging mix. i love the goofy intro (of course), i love the chaos from the verses, i love the descent in the pre-chorus down to the chorus itself (i think it's reminiscent of crazy form), the "ringing siren, ringing siren" parts make me ascend (both the post-chorus and at the end of the song), THIS IS ATEEZ. GOD.
tldr my ranking is this:
siren
empty box
shaboom
work*
blind*
golden hour
*work and blind are interchangeable bc i like them the same amount
conclusion? a solid album but it's not their best. it's not cohesive. like it feels like it's creating a creative dent in their discography. so i can't really rate it bc it'll have to depend on what perspective you're looking at.
i can only hope they take more time to prepare for their next album. i do not want another rushed comeback and album. i want these bitches to rest and be at their actual best when they perform! go for quality over quantity of you can't do both!!

I probably will be called out for making everything about Jimin but idfc.
Notice how whenever Jimin pulls himself out of something be it relationships or jobs the people he worked with and people he had relationship with start to crumble and lose their appeal at all. It's like they lose their soul. BTS had really nice music until 2020, their artistry was unmatched in the whole industry and their stage performances were talked abt for weeks after. Then Jimin started getting pushed back in choreos and being given lesser lines in their songs. Their group music is unlistenable now. Every performance now is the Graham Norton performance which Jimin wasn't able to attend. I've loved them so much, I've waited for every performance, award show and new music. Now I desperately beg for them to stop releasing it. It's this bad. Relationships too. Jimin was close to Yg, Th and Jk, you just can't deny it. Yeah, I didn't really like some of their interactions and most of it seemed exaggerated by fans but still it seemed quite genuine. Then Jimin stopped hanging out with Th. Th's weird attitude and shifty behavior started getting more and more obvious and severe. Never expected much from him but damn he makes me lower my expectations even more. I kinda liked Yg, ngl, but at some point he started giving Jm back handed compliments and Jm kinda withdrew himself from him I think. After it Yg's ass lickery, money and power greed tendencies and selfishness and bitterness just flourished. Finally, Jk. I think they had quite nice relationship back then even if it was hot and cold (well, Ig that's just how jk's personality is, he's awkward) and mostly one sided. Jk was also more involved in creative process and in general looked happier and more genuine. After 2020/2021 Jimin started withdrawing himself from this relationship, too. Then I started noticing quite radical changes in Jk's behavior. Blatant fanservice, playing on both ship parties on purpose, insincerity. His skills too, like, bro, wtf has happened to you? The dancing?? Stage presence (yeah, he never was strong in this field but he had good moments sometimes)?? Wtf is that? His mediocrity and blandness is insane. He looks like he completely lost himself. Just plain sad.
So my point is, Jimin is/was the soul and heart of BTS, their performances, songs and every relationship he's in. The lightweight vibes, genuine fun, sincerity, desire to be and do better than yesterday, charm. It's all gone with Jimin. It feels like Jimin transforms people around him, seriously affects them and their mind. It's like the people he chooses to be around and chooses to be close with start to want to do better and be better. The group's fate is truly sad.
I've had this in drafts for god knows how long, but I wrote this:
"Polyc saying Jimin impacted him and changed his outlook on life, made him want to be a better person. He hung out with Jungkook the most but had literally nothing special to say about him
Jk before 2017 was annoying, a brat, lowkey an asshole; after he got closer to Jimin he softened and then there you have the same jungkook again as you mentioned these past years. 2021 something about jikook wasn't the same anymore and he's been closer to taehyung and acting like him too"
So I assume it must be from around those days of the polyc interview lol. Timing aside, points were made.

best choreos of 2023!
not gonna lie, this year was a rough one for choreos. like with the actual music itself, this year was profoundly complacent and very few choreographies were truly inspired and willing to do something original. i was actually afraid for a bit that i was not even gonna be able to fill out a top ten list, much less having any runners' up. so here's a list of runners' up:
new dayz - trendz
spotlight - yunho
wormhole - n.ssign
neverland - nine.i
baggy jeans - nct u
koong - xikers
vuja de - yunho
bouncy - ateez
journey - woodz
and my favourites:
circle - onew
youtube
i have a bit of a love hate relationship with the circle choreo bc on one hand i LOVE it, the imagery and idea is beautiful i think it's one of the few choreos this year that actually embodies what the song and the cb were trying to say. but on the other hand, as a contemporary dance enjoyer it is.........let down by the fact that kpop is a predominantly hiphop based genre and the backup dancers are not up to snuff for this type of choreo. kaspar did a pretty good job choreographing it but hiphop and contemp/modern are notoriously hard styles to slide between for dancers, and i really think they should have actually got a modern choreographer and a modern troupe. it would have significantly upped the quality and given the stages that extra gut punch.
grl gvng - xg
youtube
honestly you really could sub in any xg choreo from this year here bc they were all stellar, but the commitment of grl gvng clinched it for me. the costuming, the makeup, the style of movement all tell such a clear story that i would have included it on my list regardless of what the album was, but the transition from hesonoo to xgene to grl gvng is fucking UNREAL. it's so refreshing to see a gg actually commit to a concept that isn't pretty bubbly straightness and to not compromise on it regardless of how much people bitch, right down to the choreo. there's something immensely satisfying about seeing a choreo about how these girls are alien cyborgs and have it actually LOOK like they are alien cyborgs, the intentional clunkiness and 'offputting' movements and all. i've been begging for an actual real concept like this for years and finally. finally it has been delivered.
chrome arts - onlyoneof
youtube
its not a choreo list by me if there isn't an ooo one, and once again they came right out of the gate at the beginning of the year with something batshit insane. the knee walk move is crazy. i love it 10/10.
killer - key
youtube
unlike a lot of the other entries on this list, i don't think killer has as concise of a concept other than "the 80s", but the great thing about it is that you absolutely can successfully pull off a more abstract concept if you do it well. this is such a strong choreo with good images and composition, plus a lot of 80s references in the moves themselves, and sometimes that's all you need if you put the right care into it. this is actually one of the few choreos that i've seen that correctly capture the feel of an mj choreo from the 80s, which seems to be a real challenge for a lot of idols. i will say that i think it would have made more sense to me if this had been a repack to bad love, bc it has the same vein of nostalgia vibes and a very similar feel in the shapes of the choreo, but really they're all part of his retro series so it's not a substantive complaint.
the rizzness - taemin
youtube
don't speak to me don't look at me i'm literally never recovering from this in my entire life. i cannot fucking believe he made me say with full conviction that ""the rizzness"" is one of the best taemin bsides but also of fucking course he did. this is black rose but eviler (complimentary). it's so interesting to see how versatile taemin's style is and where his true strengths lie. obviously his title track choreos are perfectly tailored to his body and his abilities and they are all unreal choreos on their own. but there's something about the way that he carries himself when he does more hiphop based choreo that has such a natural power to it. it's so clear that this is the style that he started learning dance in and especially now that he's become much more settled in his body since he got back from the military, it's so obvious how much love he has for this song and this way of movement that i don't think any of his title tracks will stack up in the same to it in my eyes.
don't call me - dkz nine to six
youtube
insane. insane insane insane. i love everything about this. it's weird its creative it had very clear imagery that supports the song, it says fuck capitalism, what more could you possibly want. honestly one of the best choreos of the last couple years. i'm also gonna include nod here too bc it was the bside they promoted and it has crazy choreo also, and highly recommend ppl listen to digital love, the other bside. very strong release from dkz this year despite all the shit they went through.
--
here's hoping 2024 is better!
#kpop dance#end of year posts#best of 2023#i will be thinking about the baggy jeans dance practice on the stadium stage for the rest of my goddamn LIFE thats a LEGACY!!!#i feel kind of conflicted putting both journey and circle on here bc they are very similar in a lot of ways#i actually think journey is a better choreo in terms of meshing with the dancers strengths#but i admire the ideas of the circle choreo more#text#spoiler alert: 2024 has not been better thus far😔

If ZB1 Were In A Girl Group
Description: Fem!ZB1 as members of existing girl groups. This is my opinion plus a few ideas from one of my besties and some of my fellow zumblr writers, if you don't agree feel free to write your own post 🤭
Also I couldn't find a gif for KOL so I put a pic instead
🍀 Jiwoong ‐ (G)I-DLE
These girls have no problem with more sexy/provocative concepts, and neither would fem!Jiwoong, she loves the affect she has on her fans
On stage she's a total femme fatale that has the fans swooning left, right and center… and she knows it (and as I said before, she loves it)
But off stage she's a complete dork who acts more like a maknae and shows off her natural cute side to the other members
Even Shuhua, the queen of flirting gets a little flustered when fem!Jiwoong reciprocates or flirts with her first
☘ Zhang Hao - Twice
Damn girl, is the rent due or something? Because fem!Hao is feeling herself in every song and fans absolutely adore her for it
Probably ends up being one of the loudest members somehow and goes viral for being a natural comedian. At least in this timeline she has fellow introverts
I can see fem!Hao and Chaeyoung collecting gg idols' numbers together. They have so many new wives friends now
Probably doesn't get treated that much like the youngest because he doesn't really act like it??
🍀 Hanbin - Aespa
This seems like the obvious choice for mother, after all, fem!Hanbin is an icon and boy does she know it
Have you seen the tutting choreo for Hold On Tight? She ate it up and left absolutely zero crumbs. She may probably even created the choreo (in this timeline)
She's got sass and she's got class. Fem!Hanbin Pulls off all of Aespa's choreographies flawlessly.. but are you really surprised?
I think of this group as being quite sharp and clean in their choreo which goes well with Hanbin in my opinion???
☘ Matthew - Weeekly
As much as I'm an "Woohyun oppa" anti, I guess I should let fem!Matthew get to live (some of) her cool unnie dreams
I know like one (1) of their songs and it's so Matthew coded. He would absolutely nail it for real
I feel like she would be that one member who isn't your bias but yes she is, we all stan our small Canadian queen
The members would look up to her a lot.. she just has this really calming, warm energy about her
🍀 Taerae - Stayc
I had 0 doubts here. Taerae would be a part of Stayc and I won't accept any debate on this
Vocal goddess!! Fem!Taerae's voice would fit so well with their concepts and she'd win so many hearts
Their concepts always seem so bright and fun which I think she would live for, and she'd get to show off her dimples which fans adore
As much as she could pull off darker concepts, I feel like her energy would really shine doing more fun, lively concepts
☘ Ricky - Kiss Of Life
I don't know much about these girls just yet but their music! It slaps and I think his vibe would fit well with theirs
Fem!Ricky would enjoy doing a hip concept like Shhh. It's cool and fresh and she would be living for it
She's similar in age as well so I think they'd all get along quite easily as they understand each other better
Their choreo is sexy enough for fem!Ricky to make the fans swoon but not over-the-top to the point it feels awkward to her
🍀 Gyuvin - Itzy
Itzy concepts are a) full of fun and b) full of 'love yourself' energy and yknow what… that's so Gyuvin-coded. Like who cares lemme just do my dancey dance
Okay but fem!Gyuvin would be an absolute clown. At this point she's had at least 47 memes made about her and they've all gone viral
She loves to have fun and be chaotic!! And isn't that Itzy's whole energy??? I feel like she would fit in perfectly with the other girls
They're gonna have their hands full with fem!Gyuvin but they're all whipped for her so they don't mind at all
☘ Gunwook - Everglow
Queens? Queens. Everglow never come here to play around and neither does Gunwook they deserve better though
When fem!Gunwook goes off, don't we all know about it? She dances at 400% all of the time
She's that member who looks super intimidating because she's both pretty and so talented. We all know she's an absolute sweetie though
Oh how the members would dote on her as the new youngest. Fem!Gunwook gets the princess treatment, especially because of the age gap
🍀 Yujin - Le Sserafim
Although he rocked Say My Name, I feel like fem!Yujin wouldn't want to have a cute concept all the time… every once in a while is enough
So she wouldn't want to be in a super cutesy group but not one that has overly sexy concepts either
Both she AND Eunchae get the maknae treatment, like I don't think having a new youngest member would change that
And they'd use it to their advantage, too. Fem!Yujin has found her new partner in crime… mostly to get more snacks
#zbsinbloom#zb1 gunwook#zb1 gyuvin#zb1 hanbin#zb1 jiwoong#zb1 zhang hao#zb1 matthew#zb1 ricky#zb1 taerae#zb1 yujin#zb1 fanfics#zumblr fics#zerobaseone fanfics#fem!zb1

Thoughts on Altair
Skipped any numbers that overlap with Vega
Camera really loves SakuRio, while Maria is probably the best figure to watch from stage view (magical Eripon dancing aside).
Goodness, they really beat the formation sync into MM, as a group performance they're a cut above everyone else in H!P. You can always watch MM in the wide view and they impress. They don't need the VTR. (And this is with most groups in H!P fielding noobs right now, including MM.)
Please UF don't ruin Byonz with forever rotating lineup. Their chemistry is so good, they vibe with their own music so much, and that unified identity is gold. H!P needs a singular group that wins on stability (which by definition should not be MM, no matter how long 9th-11th took their fucking sweet time about it).
Speaking of fuck, UF is really going to make me pay attention to Tsubaki's music, won't they. Fuck. You can't make me care about the members, though. (Juice=Juice's music also continues to be solid, but it's pretty easy to ignore because they are like categorically unable to be weird/do unconventional things, whereas the Tsubaki songs catching my ear are not only pushing the boundaries of what music H!P can put out, but also retaining a way with the composition that is more than just "smooth", unlike what I've complained about with some Angerme offerings.)
The shuffles on Altair were way more interesting than Vega.
Moshimo still excellence, and these main vocalists recognizing that. Yuichi stay winning. Nishida making this franchise her bitch increasingly likely, and I'll support it.
Um. I think. I like my own reggaeton mashup version of C/C better than the SIOOM arrangement? Damn, Tojima Yusuke really missed the mark there. This is the dark side of maximalism.
Matenai After Five my beloved. Although seeing TGS take on the jazz dance choreo on so expertly does show some of the gaps in some of the members' experience here. Some lack that musical jazz-hands swag. Which might go to some of the sync issues I mentioned in the Vega post, as I don't need strict lockstep sync, loose sync will do just as well, which can mostly only be learned by doing more songs like this, without a driving electronic beat as a crutch. You sink/sync or swim learning how to groove. They get a little bit of it through the funk/disco songs, or the cute songs, but not wholly.
I will certainly say, there are few things more boring than shuffles doing an EDM song. All it reflects is the participating members desperately wanting to do what they think is cool, not realizing that most such songs totally squish out any personality for anyone involved, that they cannot put their stamp on the performance, so I have little reason to pay any attention compared to the other types of songs.
Kamiko really is something else, isn't she. She turned that corner all those years ago, and never looked back. Growing into a true soloist-capable diva more and more every tour, totally dominating her stages, and she knows it, which only makes her even more powerful a presence. The JOY in her performances!
Ocha Norma has some throwback H!P energy in some ways, which is really interesting when comparing them to Byonz. Byonz feels like a successor to CG, whereas ON is harking more like to Berikyuu vibes sometimes. At the same time, both groups are clearly trying to avoid the mistakes that put the Mobekimasu era in the Dark Ages. Obviously the members having grown up in the post-Kpop era and social media era plays a role in that, because that performance edge boosts the vibe of the performances in ways that Berryz could never pull off once their rookie energy wore off. Besides which that ON is not limited to the cheese, which probably helps a lot with their attitudes towards the cuter songs. They can take them as the palate cleansers that they are, instead of as a career-limiting straitjacket. Meanwhile, Byonz vibe with their cute songs because Byonz is like literally the theater club kids group of H!P? So their cute songs are pointedly a persona they can be Extra at. Their cute song performances have that pro-wrestling audience-in-on-it wink to them. Playing to the rafters.
Tsubaki pull off their Takui song in the same way as I noted for Ocha Norma above, getting to enjoy it as a palate cleanser. Juice=Juice does not do a cute song this tour, reinforcing my side-eyeing of their vibes (see: my distaste of their Down Town PV).
Oh hey, Oda learned to back off during the One Two Three adlib, instead straining for it! Good for her.

240909 [Interview] Sportsworld Interview with Loossemble
English translation by gointosubbit:
*****
'The Members Are So Precious'... Loossemble: Five People Who Are Happy to Be on Stage Together Even Amidst the Difficulty and Bickering
Q. What was most difficult or required the most care as you prepared this album?
“We put a lot of care into the choreography. We focused on the ability to express choreography and gestures, as well as the things that we wanted to impart, and because the song is upbeat and addictive, we wanted to deliver our energy to the fans so we wanted this to have that much more energy. So we generally increased our choreo practice time by a lot, and practiced and put a lot of care into the stage presence and teamwork aspects as well.” (Hyunjin)
Q. The members participated in lyric-writing for this album as well. Apart from that, did you also voice opinions on the conceptual side?
“In the past two albums, a lot of our visions and colors were reflected. This time around, it was wholly Ryan Jhun producer-nim’s vision that went into it. We honestly needed that kind of challenge a bit, and we have faith in producer-nim, so we followed and trusted in what he said. I think what we participated in this time was more focused around lyric-writing and maintaining our own selves well.” (Hyeju)
Q. The unit songs are noticeable. The units are structured into “Confessions” (Hyunjin, Go Won, Yeojin) and “Cotton Candy” (Hyeju, Vivi, Yeojin). And Yeojin, in particular, was part of both.
“That’s also my question. Why did I get into two songs like that?” (Yeojin)
“I think it relates back to Loona. Back then Yeojin didn’t have a unit. So I think you can see this as a linkage between the previous lore and the current lore unique to Loossemble, happening through this promotion.” (Go Won)
“You could see Yeojin’s role as bridging the two units.” (Vivi)
Q. Do you have a goal for this promotion?
“I was joking with Ryan Jhun producer-nim and asked, ‘What are you buying us if we get a show win?’ And he promised to buy each member an expensive bag. We are going to work harder. (Laughs)” (Yeojin)
“Since we prepared hard for this, we’d like to get on even more diverse kinds of stages, even more often.” (Vivi)
Q. Soon it will be your one-year re-debut anniversary (September 15). Looking back, how has the past year been?
“On the one hand I think “I’ve lived busily”, and even more so that “I spent it fruitfully”. We debuted and had a comeback and went on tour in between, too. I worked really hard and can honestly say that I filled up the whole year with diligent work, so this year feels really precious to me.” (Yeojin)
Q. Does it feel very different from the first Loona anniversary?
“Very different. It has been a long while since then, and this past year we did even more activities than that year, so we were able to grow rapidly. And with fewer members, each of us have bigger roles, so it’s an environment where you can’t help but grow more quickly. I think this past year was one that allowed us to take more responsibility in all aspects and to grow.” (Hyeju)
Q. It feels like the leader Hyunjin, who played a key role in the re-formation of Loossemble, would have special feelings about this.
“I feel some pressure but it’s the good kind of pressure, so I’ve been living happily these days. And the members trust and follow me so well, so I am grateful to them, and we have such good vibes right now. So taking these vibes forward, I feel like we’re going to pull off this promotion quite well. And bring back good accomplishments. The vibes are so good this time around that I think we’ll bring results.” (Hyunjin)
Q. During the Loona days there was no leader for the overall team. What are some pros and cons of having a leader like you do now?
“I think there’s a lot. Like distributing the script lines? Also since she’s the leader, when she says “Assemble”, we assemble right away. She gets sad when we don’t listen to the leader well. When we don’t listen, it’s not like “Why won’t you listen to me,” but it feels like “Please listen to me” instead. (Laughs) So she’s kind of adorable.” (Yeojin)
“There’s pros and cons (to being leader). When we distribute the script lines, I get dibs on the comments that I want to say. I take short lines and give out a lot to the members. If I had to name a downside, the members sometimes make fun of me. (Laughs)” (Hyunjin)
“Honestly I make fun of her a lot. It’s so fun when I tease unnie. Because you have to tease the person who’s entertaining to watch, right? She has the funniest reactions.” (Yeojin)
“As Hyunjin’s become the leader, I’ve gotten to see new sides of her, and since we’ve been together for a long time, it feels really new even just to select one person as the leader like this as we start over. And since we’re a team, sometimes it’s necessary for someone to come up with a suggestion and talk it out, and Hyunjin has been doing that really well, so I think that makes the team work well.” (Vivi)
“I have a wholesome story about Hyunjin unnie recently. Hyeju unnie was briefly sick so she went home first, and the rest of us were sitting in the practice room, and Hyunjin unnie suddenly went, ‘There’s a way for us to synchronize our choreography a bit more,’ and she started teaching us fundamentals. She taught us a lot, like ‘This way you can dance a little better.’ I really felt her leader’s side at that moment.” (Yeojin)
Q. Loona had a lot of ups and downs as well, but it feels like the members must also have a special attachment for the current team of Loossemble.
“I think Loossemble to me is a new beginning. Because I got to do a lot in Loossemble that I never got to do in Loona, so to me Loossemble is a new beginning, a new challenge. It’s so new in a really positive way, and I’m so happy and content.” (Yeojin)
“We were in a situation where we could have never gotten back to the stage, never seen the fans again. As Loossemble I was able to get back on the stage, see the fans again after a short time, and achieve my dreams.” (Go Won)
“I’m so grateful for this group. As someone who loves the stage so much, I’m the happiest and have the most fun when I get on the stage with the members. As someone who values having fun the most, the happiness meter in my life is at its highest when I’m dancing with the members on stage. And Loossemble is what allowed me to do that. So that’s why I think I get really nervous when I perform every time. Because that’s how precious and important the performance is to me. So the members tell me all the time, ‘Why are you so nervous, why are you sweating so much?’ Every moment, the stage is so important. So I always want to thank the members, but I’m really shy so I can’t really say thanks. This is embarrassing but I want to take this occasion to thank them, and I want this album to do really well, and for us to be strong.” (Hyunjin)
“Debuting as Loossemble felt like one of the turning points in my life. I am a foreigner so I actually had a lot to think about during that time, but thanks to this good opportunity I was able to start over as Loossemble. Loossemble taught me a bit about myself as well and I loved that.” (Vivi)
Q. We heard that prior to re-debuting as Loossemble, Hyeju debated closing out the dream of being a singer. Have you thought about what it would have been like if you really quit at that time?
“Even if I were to go back, I would make the same decision. I would choose the challenge of being Loossemble and returning to the stage once more. Nothing would change even if I went back, and these current members are a collection of such different personalities and different tendencies that I’m sometimes really fascinated. Seeing us flow on without any big troubles, I think we’re looking out for each other a lot and doing pretty well. (Hyeju)
Q. You must hold special feelings for the fans as well. Do you feel anything has changed with the fans compared to the Loona activity days?
“I think I feel more emotional about the fans. After the whole incident during the Loona times, as I re-debuted as Loossemble, the fans said a lot along the lines of ‘I thought I’d never see you again.’ So I think we’ve grown more intimate with them.” (Yeojin)
Q. What do you think has changed about yourselves, the members?
“As we’ve gotten older and more experienced, a lot of things that were difficult and hard to understand have become comprehensible, because we experienced those things. And we’ve become more able to participate in lyric-writing, more able to express our ideas about albums, and grown as artists. As people, too, as we went through the hard times, the wounds have lost sting and we’ve learned how to get back up. How to get through difficult times, how to destress, we’re learning those remedies one by one.” (Hyeju)
Q. It feels like you and ARTMS, a group also originating from Loona, might inspire each other too. Do you keep in frequent contact?
“I contact Choerry unnie pretty frequently. Almost every day, I think. Unnie is on tour right now, you know. But she’s still good about texting back and we’re telling each other to come over to our homes. Recently ARTMS held a concert and I went to see them. They played Loona songs there and I danced in the stands, and the unnies also said ‘Yeojin let’s dance together’ from the stage so I really enjoyed that concert. I don’t think anything has changed between us. We’re like family, you could say.” (Yeojin)
“We understand so well about how each other was feeling as we were all starting over, so we feel a lot of camaraderie. And sometimes they inspire me a lot. Inevitably we are different groups now, so that gives us a nice kind of stimulation and it makes us want to show some new things or our improved selves.” (Hyeju)
Q. You’re all busy working in your respective arenas, but it feels like there must be a world where you all get back together someday.
“We are always open to it and the other members are always open too. It’s just that right now everyone is in the phase of starting over, so we’re focusing on that a bit more, and once we have each grown some more and the right timing has arrived, that’s when we’re wanting to meet the fans all together as one.” (Hyeju)
“I want to do that within a few years. And I’m curious, too. Once we have grown within each team and met again, how much cooler are we going to be by then.” (Yeojin)
Q. How do you want Loossemble to be remembered as a group?
“Honestly Loossemble is more unfamiliar to the general public than Loona, so I want this promotion to help reach the public with ‘There is such a group called Loossemble.’” (Yeojin)
Q. When the general public sees you, which feels better to you? Not recognizing Loona right away and realizing “Loossemble was from Loona?”, or recognizing the fact that Loona members are now promoting in these ways?
“Personally I want them to learn about Loossemble first. We are a team starting over, after all, so once they learn about our unique charms and begin to like Loossemble, honestly there is going to be way too much information about us. Once they get into us, there’s a lot of information and a lot to see, so I want them to first fall for Loossemble’s charms, and I want to make Loossemble become more known. And honestly Loona and Loossemble have different musical styles and group colors, so in my opinion our charms are different.” (Hyeju)
Q. When you have no schedules, do the members hang out together often?
“We have a lot of introverted members, so we spend a lot of time at home.” (Go Won)
“I have a dog, so I always spend time at home no matter what. Doing nothing and spending time with my dog. Because I just came home from working outside, so going outside again is too tiring.” (Yeojin)
“Honestly when we’re promoting, we have a lot of break times and long standby periods, so we have plenty of time to meet and chat then. So there isn’t really the need to do that even after work or on days off… (Laughs)” (Hyeju)
“Once in a while I do hang out with Go Won unnie. Once in a long while. But the routine goes like this. Suppose practice ended early, then it’s ‘Wanna eat? Wanna go to the cafe? Wanna play the claw machine?’” (Yeojin)
Q. The five of you have such great chemistry. Have you ever fought?
“I don’t know if I can say this. We had a huge fight. (Everyone laughs)” (Yeojin)
“Recently during choreo practice, I guess Hyunjin unnie and I were feeling some kind of conflict mentally. Some days you’re just in a bad mood, you know. We started talking and there was a bit of trouble, and the spark blew up kind of big, so we ended up taking some time to all gather around and have a talk.” (Hyeju)
“Suddenly I got pulled into it too and I felt hurt and cried at home.” (Yeojin)
“After we poured out so much of what was on our hearts, after taking that time, I think we became able to speak more easily. We fought that time and made up that same day. We don’t really hold grudges like that.” (Hyeju)
Q. When you rest, how do you find comfort and destress?
“This is our third album within a year, right. So we haven’t had very long breaks. So my way of resting is just staying home and doing nothing, and exercising helps me destress a lot too.” (Vivi)
“My stress levels go down when I wash my hair. I shower at home and lie down still. When you lift your legs, that gets the blood circulating, right. Then I feel the stress going away. That’s how I control it a bit.” (Hyunjin)
“Lately I’ve been building Nanoblocks. It requires a bit of creativity, and that actually allows me to have fun without thinking much. I just got into it.” (Go Won)
“I have a dog and she’s so cute. She makes my stress go away. When she runs around the home instead of me and makes a mess, I clean up after her going ‘Sheesh.’ I’m the mom. The little one influences me so much, and I wish everyone would have a dog and do well by them. I also raise a lizard. His name is Gaeko.” (Yeojin)
“I don’t have a ton of friends, so I honestly make plans like once a month if that? I like hanging out with my family, so I destress as I eat and chat with them. Since they are the people on my side who give me absolute support. They join in with me when I want to complain about somebody, and when I’m having a hard time they empathize with me and encourage me that I’m doing really well. I think hearing it from family gives me more strength than hearing it from anyone else.” (Hyeju)
Q. Lastly, anything you want to add?
“To be honest, recently I was going through a bad period mentally. It was so tough having to work on promotions when I’m going through this. And in the past, Hyeju unnie would have just said things curtly, but unnie was speaking to me softly, and I realized that made me feel a little better. I guess the members, Hyeju unnie, were really important to me. For example, even when we need to practice, Hyeju unnie doesn’t say much. But for this promotion, she would tell me, ‘Hey Yeojin, let’s go practice,’ and I would think, ‘This unnie is going through a lot too but she’s doing all this for me. I should work, too.’ Since it was mentally tough, I used to go home and cry. And when I got texted ‘Let’s gather at this time tomorrow’ I would reply ‘Yes’ and go back out. It’s gotten a lot better. Hyunjin unnie told me, ‘You are doing so well right now’, and Vivi unnie cries together with me. And I don’t know about Go Won unnie. Unnie already plays along with me and listens to me the best, as it is. So for this album, I wanted to tell Hyeju unnie how grateful I am. It was such a difficult period mentally, and Hyeju unnie was willing to be my rock.” (Yeojin)

okay after the first few listens here’s my eternal rankings:
1. HORIZON‼️‼️‼️
2. crush
3. sexy in the air
4. deja vu
5. say less
6. the unknown sea
7. GOAT
horizon is just so special. it’s the type of song where you just FEEL it in every fiber of your body. i think it takes my number 2 of all time for taemin songs, behind idea. i CANNOT WAIT for the performance of it!!
by sound alone, i prefer crush, but sexy in the air will probably end up moving up ahead of it just because i always end up liking songs more and more once i start watching performances and choreo. they’re both really great, and sexy in the air is such a cool vibe and the transition is unexpected yet he pulls it off so well.
deja vu and say less are basically tied. i love them both and love that he’s a lyricist for them! i’m excited to see what the choreo for deja vu ends up being like for the concert.
the unknown sea and GOAT are still great songs, just less of my preferred vibe than the others. but i love to see the variety in this album and the way he really pushed himself in terms of composition, style, and writing!

ENHYPEN AS BORN PINK SONGS:
Heesung as Hard to Love :
Once again I have drawn inspiration from @missmadwoman and her wonderful smaus.
But I actually do think that Heesung would be hesitant to show any form vulnerability or genuine feeling
I have said before that comfort is important to him, but that doesn't mean it's easy for him to open up and make himself comfortable
The second he feels like he's getting too comfortable and attached, he's gonna end it.
Also this song would suit his vocals so well
Jay as The Happiest Girl
I feel like Jay would get so hurt if a relationship ended
Like he has specifically said that he wants his first love to be his last and when that doesn't happen he'd be absolutely distraught
He's another one that would put on the facade of being okay when he isn't, so everyone would think he's okay when he isn't
But I do feel like he would pull himself together and try his best to get over everything that's happened
So I think this song suits him in a breakup very well
Jake as Yeah Yeah Yeah:
Okay nobody can tell me that this song doesn't give me Jake vibes
It's such a summery song and it seems like the kind of song you would play on a road trip and Jake seems like the kind of person you would take on a road trip
This song also describes Jake when he has a crush
He would be desperate to know whether or not they felt the same and he would overthink the situation a lot before even thinking about confessing
He has also definitely been hurt before so he'd be worried about being hurt again
Sunghoon as Tally:
Man's has had enough dating rumors to last him a lifetime
Sooner or later I feel like he's just gonna snap and be like "yeah, were dating ,what about it?"
He's just sick and tired of random people on the internet thinking that they have a right to decide what he does with hisife
His dating life, his decision.
And while he may not experience the same level of slut-shaming as many female idols, he's had it up to here with it
Kim Sunoo as Typa Girl:
Can't really explain this well, but I'm mainly going off vibes here
So our Ddeonu is a man of many talents
He's very cute and sassy and adorable, which we see very often, but he's also got a very intense vibe to him yknow
Like he can definitely be the Typa boy you take home to meet your parents, while still being the intense performer on stage
So he's so multifaceted, this just makes sense to me
Jungwon as Shut Down
Okay I feel like the violin instrumental at the start gave a very classical feel, like Jungwon yknow
Like when I think Jungwon I think laid back instrumentals and chill afternoons with maeumi y'know?
But then the kickass Blackpink vibe starts and it's so unexpected but satisfying like Jungwon on stage
Our boy can do both.
He is very laid back and chill offstage and onstage he's absolutely ruthless
Ni-Ki as Pink Venom
This is just pure vibes bro
The beat, the choreo, the lyrics, Ni-Ki would eat this cover UPPP!!
Also he's got so much hate, that he would definitely be able to relate the savagery in the lyrics
Also y'know the straight to the dome part? I feel like that applies to Ni-Ki.
He always gets the most catchy parts in songs. Eg. Fever, Pass the Mic, 10 months etc

UNFORGIVEN ALBUM REVIEW
i have so much to say about these tracks y'all the wait was worth it it always is when it's with them!! UNFORGIVEN as a title track slaps i can't overstate how amazing this turned out thank you nile rodgers this is incredible i adore the beats though i wish that for the "unforgiven girls" part, the vocals were stronger in volume and impression bc it's SUCH a hype section i can already imagine ceremonies starting with that exact part!! the melody just evokes that feeling if you know what i mean?? and yunjin's grungy voice compliments this song and its message so so well. also kkura's deep voice?? she is an icon she has always been the moment but oml zuha's wings and her lines are SO good i won't even start talking about chaewon bc y'all know how i feel about her gosh she never ever disappoints. now for manchae oml she has come so far from fearless and she's getting better and better each comeback and she's starting to solidify her presence on stage im so excited for five years down the line how she's going to turn out!! the choreo snippet from knowing bros had already surprised me so much i love love love their choreos and this one has to be one of my top threes?? anyways not to get too deep into this so im going to just keep it like this and move on. overall 9.5/10
NO-RETURN (INTO THE UNKNOWN) — the bass!! they have a signature feel-good sound to their tracks similar to this you just want to get up and jump or dance around with a smile on your face. the saxophone is that a saxophone in the chorus that took me off guard in the best way really. the brass is so cnncncbc!! chaewon and yunjin carry the vocal heavy parts and they do it amazingly like they may not be the strongest vocalists ever but they're strong in their own ways that fit le sserafim's sound so well!! overall 9/10
EVE, PSYCHE & THE BLUEBEARD'S WIFE — i know a club song when i hear one despite not ever being in one 😔😔 the beat im salivating this is my three am hallucinating dancing in the dark in my own room type of song i swear to you the verses after the first chorus has me in a chokehold. the things i would do to get to listen to this in a concert setting and ascend with the bridge and then the drum pads that come in right after like stfu. overall 9/10
FEARNOT (BETWEEN YOU, ME, AND THE LAMPPOST) — i just started writing a small fic based on this song and its vibes!! this makes me feel all sorts of things and the lyrics are straight out of a heartwarming story. this is one of my most favourite songs from this album. it's so atmospheric with the electric guitar building up to the chorus and the drum beats that kick in and their vocals. the melody is beautiful and i just can't get over the vibes. i cried while i first listened to this half an hour ago actually ;-; i don't have any single thing to complain about in this song. "i go where you go" line being given to chaewon was an amazing decision because her voice is so pure and it felt like i was pulled into another world for the brief moment she sung with the background going silent :') i think this will be one of my most listened to songs on spotify this year. overall 10/10
FLASH FORWARD — this is exactly my vibe i listen to these kinds of songs everyday all day it's just so vibey and you can strut playfully to this song down the street and sway and jam all you want and it feels like flowers of all bright colours are blooming all around you as you go!! it's like it brightens up the world around each step you take :< it's just feel-good. overall 9/10
FIRE IN THE BELLY — when i say hot damn i want to shake my hips and call my latina friends and have them listen to this. the chorus makes something in my chest feel so full with life!! reminds me of my childhood especially the olé olé olé in the background chants ugh im a little tired from all of the jumping and screeching i did within the last hour so my brain is slowing down just know that it's overall a 9/10 for me for this too
CONCLUSION i love them they occupy a large spot in my heart i can't ever dislike any song they release and i know it seems like im giving way too many compliments but i can't help it idc if it's subjective they just make good ass music ‼️

SEVENTEEN as Alternative/Indie/Rock Songs
Several years ago, I started making this list of all the alt/indie/rock songs I associate with Seventeen! It’s my favourite genre of music, so I’ll be doing these for a few groups.
This was originally going to be a GFX series, so Jeonghan and Jun have links to my GFX posts. Otherwise, links are to the songs on YouTube!
S.COUPS
King — Zayde Wølf
Seungcheol is King, what else needs to be said?????
Mr. Wølf has got a full(?)/clean voice that I think matches well with Cheol's vibe
JEONGHAN
This is Gospel — Panic! At the Disco
((Check out the GFX here!))
Thought of Hannie when listening to the piano version actually
I think the fact there’s 2 official versions with different vibes kinda show Jeonghan’s softness vs the fact he’s cool af
(Like ALL HIS HIDDEN TALENTS?? ok Jeonghan I see u)
JOSHUA
Heart of Gold — Foreign Figures
The warmth this song radiates reminds me of Shua
I think it fits his vibe and he could sing it!
It’s not exactly his style, but he could rock it
JUN
Top of the World — Greek Fire
I feel like Junhui could sing a ver. of this where the tune is the same but has different instruments and less of shouting
Like the verses definitely fit!!
BONUS ! JUN
Let Me Down Slowly - Alec Benjamin
((Check out the GFX here!))
Bonus bc it’s technically indie pop not rock (though someone did make an alt rock cover!!!)
On that note, it’s also kind of like a ballad which wbk junhui slays
Junhui’s softness matched with Alec’s!! They both got soft voices like cotton candy
I still think Junhui’s voice is very purple and fits this song
HOSHI
Kung Fu — IAMCOUCHSURF
This song is definitely more of a fun/silly vibe than the others, which gives me Hoshi vibes!
I had another song for Hoshi that he could dance to, whereas this one is more of just a song to jam to than one he’d dance to
Though the singing style sounds kind of like Hoshi (in a rock context)
WONWOO
Man or a Monster — Sam Tinnesz ft. Zayde Wølf
Ngl if Wonu sang this... I would cry
The vibe of this song fits him really well imo
And the lyrics are smth I could write a fic abt w/him!! The point is it’s very vibey
WOOZI
Way Down We Go — KALEO
The piano is an immediate tie in to Jihoon's vibe
Soft indie rock!! Maybe not something he could sing himself, but it reminds me of him
THE8
Call Me Fighter — Matt Beilis
THINKING OF AN FMV WITH MINGHAO OOOH
This has soft verses but then the chorus really ramps it up
It’s like... such epic vibes and I feel like Hao could cover it if it was a little different? (like what I said abt Jun’s)
He could pull off the verses in Chinese for sure
MINGYU
Monster — Willyecho
I FEEL LIKE A *beat drop* *guitar riff* MONSTER
If you don't see Gyu playing electric guitar to that then idk what to say
I really love Mingyu as this song lol, he could really rock parts of it!!
DK
Hell No! — Mel Senese
I think Dokyeom could sing this
But also I picked it because the vibe is definitely DK’s vibe (maybe even BooSeokSoon)
Like the hook and chorus give DK energy
SEUNGKWAN
Birds — Imagine Dragons
Originally I had this one for DK but I think Seungkwan’s voice fits the entire song better rather than DK who fits just the chorus/bridge
Like Seungkwan could sing this!! Maybe it’s not entirely his vibe but he could!!
I think this being more vocal-driven than other Imagine Dragons songs also lends to the Seungkwan vibes
VERNON
Dreamin' — The Score ft. Blackbear
Sorry can I get a cover of this from Vernon pls thanks Mr. Chwe 👉👈
Lyrics kind of fit him too; if you told me he wrote this song I would believe you
The lyrics are abt pursuing your dreams despite what other people say & that could be tied into his own issues, while having a vibe that fits him imo
"Listen to me now as I wash away my fears" YOU CAN’T TELL ME THAT’S NOT A VERNON LYRIC
DINO
Play with Fire — Sam Tinnesz
I would be lying if said I didn’t imagine myself w/Chan dancing to a choreo I made of this LMFAO
I think Chan could rock this song sO HARD if he made choreo
((ALSO I made this post literal years ago; SKZ Hyunjin did a dance for this song which is exactly what I was thinking of at the time))
WHOLE GROUP
Citizen of Heaven — Tauren Wells
This is gospel rock lol but I think this fits like a very specific early era of SVT
Like Shining Diamonds era and around that time!!
BONUS ! LEADER LINE
Can’t Stop Me Now — Oh The Larceny
Ok I don’t think this actually fits them vibe-wise, but nothing can stop these 3 like cmon now
So this is more of a theme song for them rather than smth they’d sing themselves
BONUS ! PERFORMANCE UNIT
Revenge, And A Little Bit More — Unlike Pluto
Pluto himself calls his style electronic rock so I’m including it lol
SVT could make a choreo to this and I would cry
I’m not sure why I thought of perf. unit but somehow it works??
