XDINARY HEROES REALIZING THEY HAVE A CRUSH ON YOU
── .✦ a/n; anon i LITERALLY have a draft for reader realizing they have a crush, it's like you have espn or something. consider this pt. 1?? (here's pt 2 and pt 3!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
── .✦ gunil;
he thinks you're cute, in that distant, casual kind of way that one might upon meeting a new acquaintance. cute, and a little closed off. that's okay. he is nothing if not confident when it comes to talking to different kinds of people, even the aloof ones, and also not above sacrificing his dignity to achieve a friendly atmosphere. he would simply like to be your friend.
so when his turn comes around to host a party, he makes sure to invite you. and you show up. you sit on one end of the couch, mostly watching as everyone shouts and laughs, and gunil manages to have a few snippets of conversation with you in between snack runs to the kitchen. no worries, he thinks. you look like you're enjoying the party in your own way, so he focuses on having fun himself.
of course, having fun necessitates at least one "gunil story time," no matter how much the younger ones groan about it.
he gets caught up in the details. it's a funny story, okay, and he wants everyone to know the context so they can better appreciate the buildup. once he reaches the punchline, a solid eighty percent of the room is already yelling or throwing popcorn at him, and he's snickering and basking in their embarrassment—
and then he hears your laughter, brief and almost buried beneath the noise. his head snaps in your direction.
when you notice his sudden stare, you cover your mouth and look away. but the smile remains in your eyes, a genuine smile, and gunil is startled by the sudden flip-flop his heart makes in his chest as you steal another glance.
oh.
maybe being friends isn't exactly what he wants now.
── .✦ jungsu;
you run into each other during lunch break in the cafeteria. a sheepish smile crosses your face when he asks, surprised, why you are here when you're infamous for opting to catch up on work instead, and you explain that you were really craving a big toasted sandwich and fresh fruit.
jungsu laughs. he tentatively follows up with a suggestion to eat together, and thankfully, you agree.
you get your big toasted sandwich and an orange, and he gets his own food, and the two of you seat yourselves by a window to enjoy your meals. it's nice. despite being close acquaintances at best, he feels quite comfortable around you, and by the time he's finished his meal he wishes he had eaten a bit more slowly.
you are carefully peeling your orange. during a lull in the conversation he watches idly; when you catch him, he blushes and apologizes for zoning out.
when you are done, you offer half your orange to him.
he rushes to protest that you need to do no such thing. you were looking forward to eating that orange, and besides, he didn't share his food with you so he'd feel bad taking yours.
to his horror, you seem a bit disappointed.
ah, okay.
fool that he is, jungsu immediately backtracks and says he'll treat you to some sweet bread next time.
the way your expression lightens sets off a flutter in his stomach. he can feel his face redden when he takes half of the orange and his fingertips brush yours, and it deepens, much to his extreme embarrassment, when you tell him he's a sweet guy.
he internally begs himself not to let this happen in the middle of the cafeteria, right in front of you while you’re smiling at him like that.
(of course, his heart does what it wants anyway.)
── .✦ gaon;
there's a kind of close companionship formed by sitting in the backseat of a car together. the two of you often end up there during outings with your friends, owing to the fact that neither of you can drive, so you've quickly become quite familiar with each other.
it's fun. in between sharing snacks and playlists, he finds you clever and quick to laughter and overall very easy to get along with, to the point where he deliberately carpools with you when possible just because he likes being in your presence. people have teased him about it, but he insists that you're simply good friends and have nothing to hide. when he likes hanging out with someone, he's not the type to be coy about it.
such is jiseok's thought process when he slides into the backseat with you for the drive back from the mountains, a grin on his face and jokes at the ready before he's even put on his seat belt.
the car ride proceeds as it usually does, going from loud and chaotic to quiet and mellow, and as the sky changes from orange to dark purple, he notices you starting to doze off.
you could have leaned against the window to sleep. but he had taken the middle seat earlier because you were watching a movie on his phone together, and a person is more comfortable than the cold, hard surface of a car, so maybe it's natural that your weight falls against his. that doesn't stop him from being surprised.
he gingerly takes his earbud out of your ear and peeks at your face.
a soft and fuzzy feeling suddenly overwhelms him. he swallows as he stares at you, not daring to move, your closed eyes and gentle breathing making his cheeks burn hot.
the realization washes over him right then and there. he likes you likes you.
── .✦ o.de;
it happens when you go on a date together.
it's not actually a date. you had finally cut off a rough on-again, off-again situationship with some idiot who never deserved you in the first place, and seungmin had only intended to comfort you with something other than ice cream cartons and endless boxes of tissues, packing you up and carting you off to the outdoor mall to shop with him. seeing sunlight and walking around would do you some good, he had told you.
you surprisingly didn't put up much of a fight. in fact, you're the one who had called it a date, if only sarcastically, muttering something about going on at least one before you die alone.
(yeah, sunlight would do you some good.)
he occupies your thoughts with armfuls of clothes, taking selfies in the mirror, and hyping you up. little by little, it seems to work. the corners of your eyes crinkle when he exits the dressing room in an outfit you had chosen for him, and when you adjust the collar and fold up the sleeves, he is relieved to see the old you shining through once more.
it could have been the moment when you fixed his clothes. but it definitely hits him when you exit the last store and walk down the sidewalk, your arm curling around his as you point out a jewelry store across the street.
he looks over at you, and he imagines what it might be like if this was an actual date, if you not only held onto him but called him sweet names and let your touch linger a bit longer on his collar, and he discovers that he likes the idea a lot.
he blames the heat when you ask why he has suddenly gone quiet. you chide him for not saying something sooner, and seungmin can't help but smile, letting you pull him along to find some shade.
── .✦ junhan;
it's a one-sided rivalry of some sort.
you're the lead guitarist of an up-and-coming indie band, though with no less experience than him. he admires the music that you and your friends produce; you seem nice, too, at least in the way you nod and smile politely at him at festivals. he's too nervous and concerned about his own group's performances to actually talk to you.
your style and quality of sound brings out his competitiveness, he supposes. seeing clips of your rehearsals time and time again pushes him to work hard as well.
when he finds out your band is having a concert on his day off, he decides to buy a ticket.
it's a small venue. he's surrounded on all sides by more people than he would prefer on a saturday night, but he tolerates it, curious as to what a full concert will be like compared to the great but limited setlists he's caught of a glimpse of while waiting backstage.
once you appear on stage and start playing, he quickly finds out. and he's gone.
the reserved admiration he had held for the past few months gives way to something akin to a sucker punch. there's no envy, no desire to measure himself against you. he blinks and leans forward in his seat, watching you play as if it's the last time you'll ever get to do so. when your solo comes up, his heart jumps so strongly he reaches up to press a palm against his chest.
you are beautiful.
── .✦ jooyeon;
for him, it had been love at first sight.
you had both attended the same kindergarten. on the day he'd met you, he had fallen and scraped his knee while running on the asphalt. he had cried and cried and cried, and the teacher, bless her heart, had done her best to soothe him but with little success.
he remembers you just appearing out of nowhere, like an angel. you had held his hand and patted his head, telling him that he would be okay. and he eventually stopped crying.
he had wanted to marry you after that, even though he hadn't quite understood the logistics of marriage quite yet.
he's just a bit younger than you—not by a lot, but enough that you have the societal obligation to look after him, to be someone he can rely on. and he doesn't mind relying on you ... sometimes. it can be fun to enjoy a meal you've paid for, or ask you to style his hair, or rile you up because you've been away for too long and he kind of missed hearing you scold him.
other times, however, he wishes you would notice how much he's grown since you were kids.
he knows you are fond of him, but you have never seemed to consider the possibility that he would want you to rely on him, too. to let him buy you things, offer a shoulder for you to nap on, comfort you when you're upset. and it—well, it sucks.
he plays it cool, though.
(his friends disagree and say his crush on you is so obvious it hurts to watch, but you've never said anything, so you're either pretending out of pity or super dense.)
(he's still not sure if he wants to know the answer.)

A New End: Villain Origin
MDNI
this one is sfw but the series contains eventual smut
Tomura Shigaraki x gn/afab reader
Warnings/Content/etc: swearing, light mentions of violence, eventual spoilers, and eventual smut.
Quick intro to a longer series (idk how long yet)
**exactly what the title says, the ending will be different so if you're anime only it's not giving anything away. that said, trying to mirror cannon so there might be spoilers if you're not caught up**
|\/\/\| villain origin |/\/\/|
You were promised a future.
Somehow your future vision quirk got you through the entry exams and into UA high. Congratulations, here's a new home, new classmates, and a great big glowing ball of hope. You'd do well in school, study under Nighteye, and go on to become a pro hero.
Don't fuck it up.
Your quirk isn't without its limitations though: you only see the future of decisions that emotionally impact you. Sometimes you don't consciously see visions at all, feeling a strong pull most would call “extreme intuition” but you always knew it was your quirk guiding you.
When you arrive at school, being placed in a room full of people who've spent their lives being praised for their flashy abilities, you don't fit in. They make sure you know that. Most of them, that is. Some just don't say anything to stick up for you at all. Some heroes they’ll be. It would be impossible to care enough about any of your classmates to have useful premonitions so you might as well have been quirkless.
In a class of what were supposed to be your peers, you felt alone. Isolated. That's why, when your quirk kicked in during a mock battle showing you the way to win, you didn't just take the victory. You annihilated the other team, putting four of them in the hospital. Every asshole treating you like an outcast being victimized and praised while you were the bad guy.
That's how you got kicked out of UA. Left sitting on the sidelines while they all became pro heroes.
From that day on, it felt like you were drifting through life. Searching for something but never quite finding out what it is.
Walking into this dingy bar, you should feel something like fear. But you don't. The intuitive side of your quirk brought you to this place, nearly forcing your footsteps as you shadow Girian.
“Who do we have this time,” a raspy voice calls out.
“You’ll like this one, more polite than the others. And, they have a future vision quirk,” answers Girian. You can feel the annoyance in his voice as if hes had this conversation a few too many times and is sick of explaining himself.
“Got it. What’s your name?” the blue haired man at the bar asks.
“[L/N][Y/N],” you reply. Getting a better look at him, he looked more intimidating on TV. Here, he’s just a regular guy with a really weird hand mask.
“Okay then, do your thing, [L/N].”
“I-,” you stutter. It feels like UA all over again. But would your quirk lead you back to that situation again? You don’t think so. “It doesn’t work that way.”
For the first time, his blood red eyes look in your direction. He doesn’t even bother to hide the cringe beneath the hand covering his face.
Well, it was worth trying. Time to go.
As you turn to leave, the raspy voice rings out again.
“Wait, where are you going? We aren’t done talking. So much for manners…” he trails off muttering to himself.
“What else is there to talk about? I thought I could be useful to you but I’m not being treated like an outcast again.”
“HA!” you flinch, his laughter catching you off guard. “You think you’d be the outcast here?”
Admittedly, you hadn’t really thought about it. You knew they were putting together some sort of anti-hero villains league, but having never been a “villain” you still thought you’d feel left out somehow. You never considered, maybe that’s what makes people come here in the first place.
“We’ll use your quirk. Probably have to keep you around like some sort of oracle so we don’t miss anything. You’ll stay here,” he nods to the smokey man looming behind the bar.
“Right this way,” the cloudy figure gestures to you, “I’ll show you to your quarters.”
Moving from your apartment took all of three trips with one of Kurogiri’s warp gates. Once your bed and dresser were set up, it was just a few boxes of clothes, books, and bits of decor left to move. In spite of looking wispy, you were surprised to find the smokey man is incredibly strong and could carry most of your belongings at once.
Adjusting to your new surroundings has been easier than expected too. While you hadn’t seen your new boss much more than in passing, a few others have come around and some seem nice. You’re excited at the prospect of being able to work with people.
Girian noted you were the first Shigaraki has accepted on the spot, which is encouraging. You’ve never been picked first for any team before.
Maybe you do belong here.
part 1 coming soon :)

Chap 429 made me realize I can't stand Class 1A anymore, I like individual students like Tokoyami but as a whole I can't stand them. Their bond is so artificial especially when none of them gave any concern about Izuku's well-being throughout the first year and took Bakuhoe's word immediately. Plus, they are mostly flakes riding off of Izuku's heroism and hard work during the Villain Hunt arc. None of them doing were jackshit about the criminals including "Symbol of Victory" Bakuturd until they remember that Izuku exists. The fact that Hori never lets the students addresses or think about Izuku's quirkless nature after the OFA reveal is something I will never forgive Hori for.
Hori tries so hard to glaze them as this unbreakable team of heroes, but he cheats using plot armor and plot contrivances to make his point seem valid but most of these kids would be dead if the villains were allowed to kill them instead of Hori holding them back with puppet strings. I hate to sound deranged but if some of the students had actually died during the first battle then I could see 1-A actually building a bond and realizing how precious life is and the dangers of being a hero then their concern for Izuku's well-being would seem more valid after all of the other crap they were ignoring about.
Lastly, I hate that damn poem that Hori claims was the inspiration for Deku because it feels like an excuse to justify his narrative abuse of Izuku and deny him any moment of confidence or pride in his achievements. This was supposed to be the story of the Greatest Hero not Class 1-A nobodies. Meanwhile he is too busy celebrating Bakuhoe's moments for during the bare minimum and fans on reddit and elsewhere eat up like its pure cinema or something.
Fair enough it's not that I actually hate class 1A but for some reason I can't simply believe that their dynamic is one of a little happy found family. I just can't and its probably because there's too many characters and we don't get the screentime needed for them to develop such a dynamic.
That is to say I don't hate class 1A like I love the individual characters like tokoyami, iida, jiro and I even love the little groups they have or at least the potential that was in those groups and dynamics.
It doesn't help that it's class 1A that gets the whole we are all heroes thing and the whole we will be there for you Izuku in the vigilante arc. I don't know it falls flat and becomes underwhelming simply because their dynamic isn't well built neither is it well developed. Also them saying they care for izuku seems like it's quite difficult to believe considering that we haven't seen them voice concerns over Izuku's injuries or even visit him during the first war arc when he was in a coma but maybe that's me saying too much because they were in a war and everyone was busy with stuff and trauma.
When it comes to the whole thing with bakugo I personally think that he was supposed to be a minor character for izuku to surpass but him being Izuku's symbol of victory and all of that shows us exactly that izuku hasn't DEVELOPED AT ALL IN THE SERIES!! izuku has continually been an incredibly static character and the ending shows that. Izuku still thought of OFA as a gift from all might instead of his own quirk, he literally never understood the wrongs of the hero system and he never stops viewing all might as this big hero who does so much. Like ugh this could of been things that izuku develops from and becomes a better person but I guess not.
Realistically many 1A members should either be
1) expelled (how is mineta and bakugo still there)
2) dropped out (Iam sorry you're telling me all of these kids parents let them contribute in this bs like are your parents that bad)
3) dead (you're telling me in a field of naive and not properly trained first years none of them have died really?!?!)
These factors would definitely make 1A closer to eachother and would show that they would care a lot more because of what they experienced and what they might blame themselves for what happend previously and it would be realistic/make sense within the series.
Also less 1A members would show just how competitive and tiring the hero course can be (proving aizawas words right) and it would also make the characters big moments that hori gave them have more actual suspense and impact within the narrative and plot.
I have mixed feelings about the poem and the post "the uselessness of izuku midoriya" while I do think it's a good post that shines a different perspective onto things Iam also just not a fan of the concept. I suppose it's because I don't think MHA was built in a way where it's story is a tragedy, like I don't believe tragedy suits the plot of MHA especially when it's not being treated as one.
However, I do think that it could be used as something that izuku starts with at the beginning and then develops into something much more. I think that having izuku choose the name deku and then developing into the name deriku would be fitting just how I would of liked for him to develop from someone whose acknowledgements and influence aren't recognised to someone whose achievements are recognised but not overly praised or anything of the sort something like having him be somewhat of a myth someone whose influence is known but works in the shadows (not literally) but he isn't directly known and isn't like all might. Ugh I don't know how to word it but I hope you understand. I suppose the closest example I can think of is Kim dojka (minus the angst)
(for context this is the poem I assume you're talking about)

Edit
I suppose this maybe better phrasing to what I was trying to say last paragraph.👇

Price finding an unaccounted for hostage while clearing a terrorist base
(I feel like I’ve read this from you before but with Ghost??? I really hope that was you bc if not that’s slightly embarrassing that I can’t remember 😵‍💫)
Fear not it was indeed me! Now in that universe Price did have a story as to how he got himself a wife so let's say this is a different universe entirely! And oh go on sure I'll make Price less of a kidnapper and more of a handsome hero figure <3
Very Bad, No Good Day
Words: 700ish
Captain John Price would not have hesitated to shoot you. You were in a terrorist hideout, there was no mention of any other civilians and honestly? You were a little too soft and doe-eyed to seem like anything but a trap. He swept the room before even considering going near you, in risk assessment mode. Nobody else here, hastily cleared out safe and then you handcuffed to the radiator with a rag tied around your mouth.
On the balance of probability it was likely you were not a terrorist once he had taken it all in. Wouldn’t make sense to leave you behind, too much of a wild gambit to try and honey trap one of his. Price had met honeytraps before, they did not tend to be thick women in their 30s and as he got closer he could very much see how soft and terrified you were. Poor thing.
Still, he could not rule out a trap entirely so he called it in and then searched you with firm hands and a gentle explanation.
“Need to confirm you’ve not got any weapons then we can get you somewhere safe.”
Fuck you were quite the dream woman weren’t you? He kept it tactical even as he felt around and found you very much had hips that begged his fingers to sink into them. Where the hell had this useless lot of criminals found a thing like you? He probably should have been more thorough before he took the rag from your mouth but he was busy trying to scold himself into not getting too handsy.
“Give me the quick version. Who are you, why are you here?”
You blurted out everything in a rapid fire babbling. Your name, your very bad no good day as the unluckiest postie in the entire world who had just been trying to do her job and deliver a package. You probably cried at him too much about it, maybe went too into detail about how mean your boss was and all the names he kept calling you and how he always gave you ridiculously hard routes rather than giving you a standard one like everyone else.
“Slow down luv, you’re fine. Deep breath.”
You tried, hard not to when this man was the one asking. He was like something out of a trashy romance novel, all gruff and handsome and commanding. For his part Price was doing a stellar job of not letting his face give away the massive ‘oops’ he had made. You were here because they had planned it that way. They had sent a package that was supposed to raise alarm bells, get everyone agitated and sloppy. He had not considered the idiots would think to blame the fucking postie for it.
It was outrageous how he took a little sharp pin from one of his pockets and picked the lock on your handcuffs. Should that have been as attractive as it was? You were absolutely sure you fell entirely in love with the man when he pulled you to your feet, showing off how strong he was (tactical on his part, contrary to what his team may believe John Price was not bad at flirting, he was merely subtle). Should he save it for when you were not being rescued from an active terrorist base? Maybe. But even if his team may be muppets they were muppets he trusted to have done their jobs when they gave him the all clear, letting him relax just a little.
He had fully intended on asking you out only you beat him to it, seeing if he might like to get a coffee as you were wrapped in a blanket with a medic checking over you.
A week later you had coffee. A fortnight and you got your back absolutely blown out over his office desk. It took 6 months for you to move in together (he had asked after 1, you had at least tried to take things slow). A year to the day you met he got down on one knee and you crashed into him with delight with a yes spilling from your lips.
Many years and several very fat and happy babies later you thought back on it and decided maybe it had not been a very bad, no good day after.

red dead redemption 1 starters

Beetober 2024 Day 8 - Three rounds
Hitoshi drags himself through the hallway, not thinking about how much farther he’ll have to go, but just focusing on the fact that he’ll arrive at the kitchen eventually.
The kitchen where Bakugo will be—not waiting, because he denies doing shit like that—and where Hitoshi will get to slump over the table and listen to Bakugo rant about whatever bullshit the Bakusquad pulled now and like that Hitoshi won’t have to think about his foster parents, or his aching ribs, or the fact that soon all of this will be over, or that he hasn’t slept in almost two days.
He won’t have to think about any of that, if only he can make it to the kitchen.
Hitoshi refuses to admit that his eyes almost burn with relief when he sees warm light shine in the hallway because he’s so, so close and he can even hear Bakugo shuffle around already which only makes him pick up the pace.
He’s too tired to remember quite how this started, their late night meetings and subsequent talks, but Hitoshi has never been more grateful for a anything in his life because even though it means his and Bakugo’s sleep is shit it’s also some kind of refuge for the both of them.
Hitoshi finally manages to enter the kitchen, immediately engulfed in the smell of whatever delicious thing Bakugo is baking now and he makes a beeline for the table.
Bakugo peers over his shoulder before he goes back to whatever it was he did before but he does snark out a “Took you long enough, zombie face”.
Hitoshi can’t find the energy to answer him, so instead he simply slumps over the table, barely managing to plant his ass in the chair in the first place.
He only lifts his face out of his folded arms when something is being put down in front of him and it’s to come face to face with a steaming mug of tea.
“Thanks,” he mutters, as he wraps his hands around the mug, leeching its warmth and shuddering when it dips too close to burning.
“Okay, here’s the deal,” Bakugo declares as he sits down next to Hitoshi, his own mug in his hand and Hitoshi squints at him. These 4am talks are really taking it out of him, even though he wouldn’t trade it for the world. “We’re going to play three rounds of rock, paper, scissors.”
“For what?” Hitoshi blinks in confusion, because this is not part of their almost nightly routine.
“If you win, I’ll drop it,” Bakugo goes on as if he hadn’t heard Hitoshi. “When I win, you’ll tell me what the fuck’s been going on with you the last few days.”
Instantly every barrier Hitoshi has ever created for himself comes slamming back up and he sits up, leaning away from Bakugo, schooling his face into casual disinterest.
“Nothing’s been going on with me,” he coolly gives back and Bakugo snorts into his tea.
“Wanna try that again? You’re not a very good liar, sleep-deprived as you are, so cut the bullshit. Something’s going on and you’re destroying yourself over it, so you’re going to spit it out and then we’ll handle whatever bullshit is putting that look on your face.”
Hitoshi huffs out a weak laugh. If only it were that easy.
“You sound awfully confident. What if you can’t fix it?” he asks, aware that he’s already admitting that there’s something broken, but by now he knows Bakugo well enough to know that he’s not going to drop this.
“Then we’ll find someone who can,” Bakugo gives back with a shrug and Hitoshi can’t help how his thoughts turn to Aizawa.
But this is probably not something he can fix, either.
“I could just go back to bed and not play your stupid games,” he says instead of acknowledging his thoughts and Bakugo gives him a mean smile.
“We’re stuck in the dorms together. How long do you think you can dodge me, huh?”
“Considering I’m going to be an underground hero, this might be good training for me,” Hitoshi gives back and enjoys the anger that flashes over Bakugo’s face.
It’s always a good look on him. Not that there are bad looks, but—Hitoshi forces himself to concentrate on the tea in his hands.
“Considering I’m going to hunt down villains, it might also be for me,” Bakugo shoots back and even though Hitoshi knows he doesn’t mean it like that, didn’t even imply that he thought of Hitoshi as a villain, he can’t help but to flinch.
Bakugo notes it with a frown but before he can say anything else, Hitoshi cuts him off.
“Fine, we play your stupid game. You know I could just take control of you and make you lose on purpose, right?”
“And live with the shame of that? You’re better than that.” It’s said tauntingly, as if Bakugo wants to rile him up some more, but in all honesty, it only makes Hitoshi feel warm all over because it’s not often that people assume he’s good. At all.
“Come on then,” Hitoshi grumbles and holds out a fist, ready to get this over with.
He doesn’t allow himself to think about what he’s going to do if he loses, because that way lies madness, but a cold shudder runs down his back when Bakugo grins at him. There’s not even a reason for him to be this cocky, because this is entirely up to chance and Hitoshi doesn’t understand how Bakugo can be so confident as to think he’ll win this.
“You ready?”
“Bring it.”
They each shake their fists three times before Hitoshi holds out his flat hand only to find Bakugo sticking out two fingers.
“Scissors beat paper,” he smugly says and Hitoshi glares at him.
“Again,” he demands and Bakugo only smirks.
They shake again and this time Hitoshi goes for rock himself only to be faced with paper from Bakugo, who seems too goddamn pleased for Hitoshi’s taste.
“You cheated,” Shinsou accuses him even though there’s no way for him to have done that and Bakugo doesn’t even grace him with an answer for that.
“Now tell me what the fuck’s been going on with you,” he instead says and Hitoshi opens his mouth to argue some more before all the energy suddenly leaves him.
He doesn’t want to argue, not here, not at this time of night, not with Bakugo and if he talks now it’s not like he’s weak for giving in, for whining, right? Bakugo won fair and square and Hitoshi is only upholding their bet.
“Fine,” he mutters under his breath and slumps back over the table, burying his face in his arms again, because he might talk, but he doesn’t have to look at Bakugo while he does it. “My foster parents are going to pull me out of this school,” he admits and he feels Bakugo freeze at his side.
“Why the fuck would they do that, now that you’ve finally made it to the hero course? Shouldn’t they be proud of you? You beat the fucking odds after all.”
Hitoshi lets out a derisive snort at that.
“Proud right,” he gives back. “Proud enough to lay in on me more, maybe, claiming it’d be good training to get beat up regularly,” he bitterly says and then goes right on before Bakugo can say anything to that. “It’s not the kind of foster family that does being proud. They took me for the money. I’m still marked as high-risk, so they get three times the amount of money for agreeing to foster me. They are scared that I’ll get myself killed with all the villain attacks and then they couldn’t cash in for me.”
There’s a beat of silence.
“That’s some fucked up bullshit,” Bakugo finally says and Hitoshi snorts. What a way to sum up his life. “They beat you?”
Hitoshi shrugs, which his ribs don’t thank him for, but he’s not about to let Bakugo know that. Even though he already seems to know, going by the way his eyes drop to Hitoshi’s middle.
“Why not ask for help?” he then wants to know and Hitoshi can’t help the bitter twist of his mouth.
“Yeah, right. Because anyone with the power to actually be able to help is going to believe the brainwashing, volatile orphan. I don’t have a good track record with authority figures.”
“You do know that the caterpillar would help you, right?” Bakugo wants to know and Hitoshi clams up at the mention of Aizawa.
“He’s busy enough already. Why would he care about any of that?”
“You’re so goddamn fucking stupid,” Bakugo breathes out. “He cared enough about all of us to risk his life for us two days in. He took you in as his personal student, course he’s going to fucking care. I bet you that he’s going to drop whatever he’s doing to help you.”
“It’s the middle of the night. He’s probably asleep and you know how he likes his sleep.”
“And I’m telling you he’d be down here in seconds for you,” Bakugo shoots back and Hitoshi blinks, slow and sluggish.
“What would you know,” he finally settles on and startles when Bakugo leans down, so he can properly look Hitoshi in the eyes.
“I asked for help,” he admits after a moment and it’s surprising enough that Hitoshi only stares at him. “The hag, she’s—it’s not easy at home. Not like for you, but—anyway, I told him about that and now she can’t pull me out of school for stupid reasons anymore, because U.A. has partial custody over me."
“What? They can do that?”
“I mean, it’s a bit different cause the hag agreed to it, signed some shitty paper or whatever, but yeah. And I think it can’t hurt to ask, you know. Maybe they can help.”
“That’s surprising, considering it’s you,” Hitoshi says, mostly to give himself some time to think.
“Fuck you. I learned to ask for help. It might not be easy but that’s just another hurdle to overcome, right?”
That is such a Bakugo thing to say that it makes Hitoshi laugh, though he tries to stifle it into his arms.
“Fine, I guess. I’ll tell Aizawa tomorrow.”
“You won’t,” Bakugo says and then takes out his phone and dials a number before Hitoshi can leap at him.
It rings two times before the call is picked up, accompanied by a grunt.
“We need you in the kitchen,” Bakugo says. “It’s Shinsou.”
“Coming,” is the only answer he gets and Hitoshi doesn’t like that self-assured, smug look on Bakugo’s face when he hangs up.
“Told you,” he says and Hitoshi burrows his face back in his arms.
If he doesn’t come out then he can’t see and then he won’t have to deal with any of this and that hopeful thought lasts as long as it takes Aizawa to enter the kitchen and snap out a gruff “What’s wrong?”
A small part of Hitoshi hadn’t believed that Aizawa would come down here in the middle of the night, just for him, without any kind of explanation and he blames his tiredness for the way his eyes burn when he feels a careful hand on his shoulder.
“What’s going on?” Aizawa asks again, a bit more gently this time and Hitoshi is still trying to find his voice when Bakugo speaks up for him.
“His foster family is shit. They are abusing him and they are going to take him out of U.A. Do something about that, would you?”
Aizawa is clearly taking that in because for a long moment it’s silent and then “Hitoshi?”
“What he said,” Hitoshi finally mutters, because he’s tired and he can’t find the words anyway and Aizawa’s hand on his shoulder briefly tightens.
“Okay,” he says and when he offers nothing more a desperate laugh builds up in Hitoshi’s chest.
Of course that’s it. Of course there is nothing else, because just like he knew there will be no help for him.
“So what the fuck are you going to do about it?” Bakugo spits out and the following silence is heavy, making Hitoshi believe that Bakugo and Aizawa are engaging in a weird eye-contact conversation so he doesn’t overhear anything.
Maybe he should just drag himself up and away, so they don’t have to jump through hoops for him.
“Every teacher at U.A. is required to keep their foster license updated,” Aizawa eventually says. “We’re all equipped to foster any of our students, should the need arise. I’m going to call Tsukauchi to get an investigation into your foster family started and until anything is decided U.A. is going to take emergency custody of you. You’ll be removed from your current foster family and placed with someone new.”
“Funny you think that’s going to solve anything,” Hitoshi mutters and feels Bakugo and Aizawa freeze. “’s not the first shitty family, won’t be the last.”
“Yes, it will be,” Aizawa says, suddenly sounding that much more determined. “Hizashi and I will foster you.”
“Present Mic?” Bakugo blurts out and Hitoshi raises one hand to point at Bakugo, indicating another ‘what he said’.
“Been married for ten years, no one is going to believe you,” Aizawa drawls out and Hitoshi turns his head just enough to see Bakugo struggling to come to terms with that revelation, while Aizawa looks decently amused.
“Why?” Hitoshi brings himself to ask and Aizawa seems to understand that he doesn’t mean his marital status because his face softens the tiniest bit as he looks down at Hitoshi.
“Cause it’s you, kid,” he simply says and Hitoshi closes his eyes against the tears again.
He can’t believe that it’s that easy. He can’t believe Bakugo was right about this.
“Go back to bed, the both of you. I’ll get the process started. If your foster family tries to contact you, ignore them or forward the calls and messages to me. You’ll be required to talk to Tsukauchi but that can wait until you’ve gotten some sleep. Do you need to see Recovery Girl?”
“’s not like she can do shit, I’m beyond exhausted,” Hitoshi admits and Aizawa klicks his tongue.
“She’s still a regular nurse, too. If there are injuries that need to be tended to, she has the training for that as well. So. Injuries?”
“Bruised ribs, it’s fine,” Hitoshi mutters and can almost imagine Bakugo’s eyeroll.
“You’re an idiot,” he mumbles under his breath and Hitoshi would like to argue with him, but he doesn’t have the energy for it.
“Then go to bed, I don’t want to see either of you in class tomorrow,” Aizawa instructs them and then simply leaves them be.
Hitoshi thinks he’s just going to stay right here, because he’s tired and exhausted and the way to his own dorm room is way too long, he can totally sleep like this, but of course Bakugo hates him with a passion because he kicks the chair Hitoshi is sitting on.
“Oi, eggplant, get up and go sleep in your bed,” Bakugo hisses at him and Hitoshi spares enough energy to flip him the finger.
“I’m not moving,” he says into the table and Bakugo heaves out a sigh.
“I can carry you,” he offers and then seems to catch himself because he quickly tacks on a “It’d be good weight training.”
“Sure,” Hitoshi gives back and manages to lean back in the chair. “But I don’t actually want to be alone. Someone’s bound to be up soon, so I’ll stay right here.”
Bakugo looks at him as if he’s gone insane and for all that Hitoshi knows he might have, too, but then Bakugo pokes a finger into his side and Hitoshi almost falls off his chair.
“Then get to the fucking couch already, gods, are you fucking stupid? No one sleeps in a chair like that.”
“Have you seen the positions Aizawa sleeps in?” Hitoshi gives back as he picks himself up, mostly to be contrary, but also because arguing with Bakugo like this is bound to keep him up until he can reach the couch.
“Just lay the fuck down, will you?” Bakugo snaps, already at the couch, a blanket in his hands and Hitoshi wonders if he’s going to suffocate him with that and then decides that he doesn’t care.
He knows being unconscious doesn’t count as rest, but he’ll take whatever he can get at this point. Hitoshi gracelessly face-plants into the couch and then refuses to move again, though he does blink open an eye when he feels the blanket being tucked around him.
“Thank you,” he whispers, when Bakugo continues to fuss with the blanket and it earns him a piercing glare.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever, now shut the fuck up,” he orders but instead of leaving like Hitoshi half feared he would, he simply sits down right at Hitoshi’s head, arms defensively crossed in front of his chest.
It’s adorable, is what it is, and Hitoshi almost chokes when that thought passes his mind, so he tries his best to keep things on track.
“You might have learned to ask for help but you really need to work on accepting gratitude,” he informs Bakugo, who narrows his eyes at him.
“Well, thank me enough and maybe I’ll get on that,” he shoots back and Hitoshi allows himself a small smile.
“Do more nice things for me and maybe I will,” he says quietly, voice only audible because it’s otherwise silent in the room and he expected the silence that followed from Bakugo, too. What he did not expect was the whispered “Okay”.
It's uncharacteristically quiet coming from Bakugo but Hitoshi doesn't mention it because he already feels as if he has pushed enough but he can't help the fond look he tries to hide in the blanket and then he doesn't even try to stop himself when he wiggles around on the couch, shuffling closer to Bakugo until he can press his forehead to his thigh.
He half expects to be shoved off but when nothing happens he lets out a happy little sigh.
“Yeah, like that. Thank you.”
“Oh, fuck right off,” Bakugo grumbles but when he slides his hand into Hitoshi’s hair it's to lightly scratch at his scalp and not to tear him away and Hitoshi melts into the couch with a happy little hum.
“Just go the hell to sleep,” Bakugo softly says, scratching even more intently at Hitoshi’s scalp and surprisingly enough Hitoshi does exactly what Bakugo told him to do.

So, at what point did you decide to ditch your initial pairings in Dog Daze?
Decide isn't quite the way it went down. It's more that it became increasingly clear Adrienette was misfiring. The post-Risk stress was getting to Ladybug, and her partner taking a more active role in heroing was both helpful and scary for her (a lack of control).
Adrienette actually had a date (Adrien:it's not a date, Sabrina:But it might be!) Alya set it up, the sneaky fox!
Marinette wanted to confess at the end of the movie. She was trying to, bit freezing up. Adrien wanted to comfort her, and used what he had recently learned from his time with Sabrina. He kissed her gently on the forehead. This has the opposite effect intended. Marinette panics and bolts. She's still got everything built up to be Very Important(TM) in her head and his intended gentle reassurance was instead seen as pushing too fast and doing things out of order.
So that didn't help.
When Adrien talks (he's confused) with Sabrina about what happened she figures out that it was probably a confession. Adrien... Doesn't know how to take this. On one hand he's floored, Marinette is amazing! On the other hand, he's worried loving him is causing her stress. *He has a very real example of love causing stress between Cat Noir and Ladybug*
Meanwhile Ladybug confesses... To Cat Noir. Marinette is building up her nerves by clearing the air. She reiterates that they can't *do* anything with their love, because of the masks, but hopes that being honest will help. It does! Ladynoir ends up in this nice place where they clearly love each other, even if it doesn't mean the usual things.
Adrien, not knowing Ladybug was going to do that, had reached out to Marinette to meet up and talk about what happened at the theater(and give her another chance to confess if that was what it really was, though he doesn't say that to her) They meet up on the way to school. She's putting on a brave face but clearly wired. He's trying to help. And finally she does confess! And it is sweet and heartfelt!
And in that moment, Adrien envisions the life Marinette wants, and it's set against everything going on. Monarch, his father, the trials of Ladynoir, all of it. He just can't subject her to that. He tells her she's wonderful, and if *he* were a different person with a different life it would be so easy to say yes. He tells her if life changes, then he'd consider himself lucky if she would date him, but also asks her not to wait. She's too special to be kept waiting in the wings.
Marinette- has a panic attack. She's put so much into this moment. not just her love life but as a sign that she's not a failure(after losing most of the miraculous) and that life is still 'in control'. It takes Adrien, Alya, and Sabrina's help to bring her back out. She ends up being shepherded by Alya while Adrien and Sabrina talk(he nearly had a panic attack in response to Marinette's) and there I think, passed the idea of adrienette working out.
There was just too much going on. It was a bad time, and they had very different needs. Adrien and Sabrina made their way slowly towards admitting they had actually already been dating for a while. It actually might not have happened but others kept poking their relationship and requiring definition.
I expected Marinette to end up with Lukanette. She contacted him soon after her failed confession. She was very open this time though about needing to blow off steam and feel lovable(despite the fact Adrien had said she was, you know how feelings are) They hung out a few times but Luka stayed resolutely in supportive friend territory by his own choice.
In the end (after Dog Daze, during a one shot) Marinette actually ends up with someone who lives life as frenetically as she does. They both spin out of control regularly, but they also both know what it is like to spin out of control and how to help each other through.

CONTRAHERO HEADCANONS GO:
Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon, or do they switch depending on how they feel?
In general, or any particular storyline/AU you want to talk about, which of them do you think kisses the other first?
Who among the others would either of them go to if they wanted advice on relationship stuff or just to talk about nervousness or worries or even happiness with someone other than the other person?
Who among the others was just waiting for those two to get together already, who suspects they are together before they get together/admit they're together, and who was just 100% totally oblivious until it's either blatantly obvious or they straight-up get told?
What are their favorite kinds of dates?
Answer any, all, or none of these, however you are feeling :D
YEEESSSSSSSS, THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!
- Contra’s often the big spoon. They like holding Hero, and Hero likes being held, so it works out great for them. They’ll switch it up too tho, especially when Contra’s feeling down or is just tired, and being held by Hero is the best recharger there is.
- When I imagine their first kiss, it’s often Hero who kisses them first. Contrarian is too avoidant and afraid of intimacy to be the one to kiss first (unless they can pass it off as a bit, or it’s just really obvious Hero wants them to kiss him right now), while Hero is a pretty straightforward guy and will go for it if the chance presents itself.
- Ohohohohoh, that’s a good one. Hmmmmm. If Contrarian ended up talking/venting about relationships to someone, I feel like it’d be broken (Cold is their bestie, but c’mon, its Cold, his approach to feelings is the I Do Not See It emojis), they’re not very gossipy or judgemental, and can be very sympathetic, so I feel like, out of everyone, Contrarian would feel safest leaning on them. They would consider Smitten for a moment, get embarrassed about what they think he might say, then go Nope.
Hero wouldn’t actively seek out someone to ask advice/just talk about it (he doesn’t feel like he needs to bother others with his dilemmas), but if prodded in the right moment, by the right person, he’d spill his guts out. And that person would be Smitten. He’d get Hero to spill out all of his hopeless romantic fantasies and how much he’s been enjoying spending time with Contrarian, and listen to it patiently, all the while grinning delighted. I also think he’d give great advice about how the transition from strictly platonic to romantic doesn’t have to be a big deal, or change all that much, if you don’t want to (what I think would be Hero’s biggest fear, together with scaring away Contra). He’d also make many corny comments that makes Hero go beet red (does he do it on purpose? Does he not? Who knows!!!).
(too bad Contra dismissed Smitty’s advice straight away)
- Hunted and Smitten absolutely notice it before they even get together. Hunted already sees them as mated, Smitten is waiting with bated breath for them to get together
Cheated jokingly says ‘are those two gonna kiss, or what?’ once, then goes, ‘wait–’
Cold knows there’s Something going on, but his alexithymic brain can’t quite figure it out for a while until it becomes obvious. Skeptic is in a similar spot
Paranoid would catch on eventually, after they get together, but before they start telling others, I feel like. Maybe she confronts them about it, and that’s what inspires them to just tell the others
Stubborn and Opportunist are the ones who really didn’t saw it coming, but while Stubborn just shrugs and goes ‘good for you’, Oppy is absolutely stupified (that’s not what his mental relationship chart looks like!)
Broken just always assumed they were already together
- I’m terrible at thinking about dates concepts aaaaaaahhhhhh– while Hero would absolutely touch on his hopeless romantic side and take Contrarian to candlelit dinners or a picnic in the park on occasion, I feel like they enjoy simple hang-outs a lot more. Just the two of them watching some shitty movies on TV together, roasting it while cuddling on the couch.

Headcanons for Neito Monoma?
yup here you go! tagging @fabpops1 because she also asked for Monoma headcanons
no coloring today because the one i made two years ago sucks and i don't feel like remaking it :'D honestly i feel like Horikoshi and I both half-assed his casual clothing sketch lol
him and his parents were all born in Japan but he has some relatives in Belgium, whom he really enjoys visiting. it's the main reason why he seems so interested in european culture (his profile page states he likes french cuisine and franco-belgian comics)
he can also speak french very well thanks to that
he's also fluent in english (though he has trouble understanding Pony sometimes - he's much better at reading and writing than he is at listening) and has a basic knowledge of several other languages. he doesn't really expect it to come handy at any point in the future, he just learns them because he finds it fun
besides that he also likes history, classic literature, theatre... yeah this guy is a huge humanities-leaning nerd and i don't accept criticism
nor do i accept the fact that he's supposed to be a bad student in canon?? like, he's so smart and also competitive, no way he isn't top of the class... he may not be as good in science and math as he is in japanese and history, but nothing an all-nighter can't fix
in middle school he was part of the drama and debate clubs. and while hero course students aren't supposed to join clubs because they should focus on hero work, he managed to argue his way into the same clubs in UA by saying that his theatrics and speeches are an important part of his hero persona. Kuroiro joined the drama club alongside him (didn't contribute to the argument at all, just nodded wisely every time Monoma presented a point)
class 1-B's culture festival performance being a stage play was actually his idea! it didn't really go the way he intended (he did NOT expect it to turn into a four-way crossover more ambitious than infinity war) but he greatly enjoyed performing in it anyway! maybe even too much
his knowledge of quirks rivals Midoriya's. he researches them a lot mostly to help his copy quirk but also out of genuine curiosity
he often helps his classmates with training their quirks and comes up with new techniques to try out. he's particularly good at it because he can actually try other people's quirks himself, which gives him a better understanding of how they function and what their limitations are
^ which is why i believe he'd make an awesome hero course teacher!! (in all might's role - i don't think making him anyone's homeroom teacher would be a good idea, he'd be just as biased towards his class as he is now lmao) it's definitely one of my favorite "future" headcanons
he praises his classmates' quirks a lot and says he considers them all great, but he does have preferences when it comes to copying them
his favorites are Yanagi's poltergeist (somewhat boring, but easy to understand and very versatile both in battle and everyday life), Tokage's lizard tail splitter (he almost died when he copied it for the first time because he barely managed to put his body back together before his quirk's time limit ran out, but that didn't stop him - he always found Tokage's quirk very fun and useful, so he put a lot of work into fully figuring it out and now he uses it pretty often), Shoda's twin impact (Monoma's physical strength.... leaves a lot to be desired, and the second impact always being significantly stronger than the first helps make up for it) and Kuroiro's black (you can move around very fast and it's fun :) )
quirks he does not like copying Honenuki's softening (fun, but quite difficult to control and avoiding collateral damage with such a destructive quirk is a pain in the ass. Honenuki understands that perfectly) and Shishida's beast (just... really not his thing lol)
for some reason i see a lot of people headcanon that he has pet ferrets, and you know what? i agree. he does seem like a ferret person
prefers smart clothing, a polo shirt is the most casual he'll go. he only ever wears tshirts for exercise (which he hates doing lol) and probably doesn't own a single hoodie
in general i think he has a good eye for elegant design... his dorm room is very stylish and nicely coordinated too. i think one of the light novels also describes it as "vaguely french" and yeah that fits
while he tries to keep his room neat and tidy on the outside, all his drawers and cabinets are horribly messy
he's that one kid who has like 17 different allergies and is completely useless if he forgets his meds on a spring day (spring is his least favorite season due to this. i think winter would be his fave)
luckily he is not allergic to dairy so he can eat as much stinky french cheese as he wants 👍
speaking of food i think he's a pretty good cook actually
prefers listening to older (and mostly foreign) music and is a huge snob about it
honestly he probably acts the same about movies and books too
arguing with people on the internet is one of his favorite ways to spend his free time. if there are no 1-A students around, you can always show off your impressive vocabulary by bullying random internet strangers with bad taste in movies!
almost everyone in 1-B considers him a friend despite his... anti-1a bullshit, because he's just really nice and helpful to people he likes + he's a great leader! however he's closest to Kuroiro (friendly drama king rivals! they're constantly arguing about dumb shit using the fanciest words they can think of and they're always trying to outperform each other in the drama club meetings they both attend, but they love each other trust me <3 also Monoma helps Kuroiro with studying because he sucks at school), Pony (when he's not trying to trick her into insulting 1-A he can be pretty helpful with japanese, he also likes listening to her talk about her home country), Honenuki (he's Pony's best friend, so you usually befriend them both at once, but Monoma thinks he's also interesting to talk to by himself) and Tetsutetsu (they don't share many interests but Monoma hates exercising so he has Tetsutetsu force him to do it. his positive energy certainly helps a lot)
ever since they got to know each other during their joint training fight, Monoma's been using 100% of his persuasion skills to convince Shinso to join 1-B instead of 1-A. Shinso is conflicted to say the least
aaand that's all i have for him! hope you enjoyed these!!

Let me take care of you
Astarion x Durge OC (Eiji) oneshot
Author's note: the idea came to me when I realized I'd been giving all my healing potions and strong spells to Astarion.
Content warning: some gore (par for the course in this game), a bit angst but mostly fluff. Might contain SPOILERS.
Tumblr media
Camp was more quiet than usual. Fighting a conniving wizard and his elemental myrmidons had not been an easy feat - even Dame Aylin, who had emerged victorious against yet another villain aspiring to exploit her immortality, had fallen into contemplative silence. By her own words, revenge felt... hollow. In quick succession, the proverbial "bad guys" had fallen by their swords and spells, but when would it all end? Was the end where they really wanted to be? A long road lay ahead, with the Elder Brain still writhing violently against its loosening chains. The party knew what they had to do, knew the price of being the hero, but Gods, a deep exhaustion had settled into their bones this night and none could shake it off quite so easily.
As she peeled off her dusty boots, Eiji mulled over her decisions. Though many in the group would sooner keel over and die than admit they were following anyone's leadership, the bulk of strategic planning had fallen on her shoulders. And as if resisting her psychopathic god of a father was not enough of a monumental task, she had her companions' conflicting desires to balance. Choosing Dame Aylin over the powerful wizard, who could have been a valuable ally instead of a useless, crumpled corpse, was one of those bets she was not entirely certain would bear fruit. Strong and fearsome as the Moonmaiden's shining offspring was, Aylin's temper may yet prove to be her undoing - without thinking, without a single moment of hesitation, the paladin had charged headfirst into battle, practically forcing Eiji's hand. Being referred to by the celestial being as "ally mine" afterwards was barely a reward, and it appeared that even Isobel understood the tension when she'd expressed her fear of her lover's future folly and offered her thanks.
But without any clear recollections of her bloodied past, there was not much else Eiji could rely on besides her instincts. And her first instinct was to never betray her companions, her friends, no matter their faults.
Rummaging through her pack, she was surprised to find five bottles of superior healing potion. She could have sworn her stock had been down to only one or two, especially since she had explicitly refrained from using the precious resource during battle. Even with the mysterious surplus, she figured there was nothing a night's sleep wouldn't fix. No point wasting the very thing that could save someone else's life the next day.
"You know, I do feel for the Dame, considering how revenge against Cazador gave me less catharsis than... well, emptiness," came Astarion's voice behind her back. As was natural for creatures of the night, the pale elf's footfalls were as light as a feather and made no sound, allowing him to make her heart jump whenever he drew near on his own accord.
Straightening up from reorganizing her pack, Eiji sighed in agreement. The movement caused the wound on her back to stretch and throb painfully. She tried to hide a wince, but nothing escaped her lover's blood-red gaze.
"Gods, there really is no justice in the world, is there?" continued Astarion with a frown, taking her pack from her hands. He strode towards a fallen tree trunk nearby and motioned for her to follow suit. Since that one evening in the Underdark, which felt like a century's worth of ceaseless struggle ago, they had grown accustomed to sharing these private conversations while the rest of the party hunkered down for a long rest.
"I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of sneaking these into your possession if I'd known you were too stubborn to use them," Astarion abruptly changed the subject, his tone going from contemplative to annoyed.
"I-- what?" Eiji turned to look at him, genuinely confused. It was the last thing she'd expected him to mention, given where their conversation had started. "Don't tell me you didn't even realize you had healing potion on you," the elf rolled his eyes.
"No, I... I saw them," though not quite understanding what the fuss was about, Eiji went along with his harmless banter. "But I don't think I need them, really. I'll just go to sleep and wake up tomorrow, good as new."
"By that same logic, the rest of us should just snooze our injuries off instead of using the potions you so generously lavished on us," he pointed out. "Or is there something special about Bhaalspawn physiology that I might want to know?"
"No, I don't think so..." she answered under her breath. Vaguely, she was beginning to catch the drift beneath his characteristic quips. "But I don't lavish anything on anyone. I do what is necessary," she insisted. It was not entirely the truth. Only now did it come to her attention that indeed, she'd been loading her companions with as much aid as she could, her own safety be damned. And she might even be guilty of favoritism, seeing how she invariably made it a priority to shield her lover on the battlefield. It was as though her body moved on its own, without so much as a conscious thought on her part.
"And you find it necessary to leave yourself an easy target?" Astarion retorted, almost angry at what he deemed utmost foolishness. "Gods, I should have known you were doomed when you first started feeding Gale our hard-earned loot."
"That was necessary, too. Can't have him blowing us all up one sunny day," she chuckled, half-hoping the joke would persuade him from this particular line of inquiry. But she could see it in his eyes that he wasn't going to let it go. She could see his worry behind the annoyance, his concern and affection. Hells, she could see his love that she returned in equal measure. "I just don't want to see anyone hurt. I don't want to see you hurt. I wouldn't be able to think of anything else during a fight if..."
Astarion's expression softened as he listened intently to her quiet words. Gently taking her hand in his, he asked, "And has it ever occurred to you how much it pains me to see you fall?"
She said nothing in reply, rubbing his knuckles with the pad of her thumb in an effort to soothe him.
"There has been enough pain and suffering in my life to haunt me for a thousand years. If you're really asking me to stand aside and lose the one person I've ever truly cared for, then you should just drive a stake through my heart and end it all," he said shakily, lacing their fingers together so she'd know there was no smoothing over the matter. "Let me take care of you. Please."
For a moment, she refused to look at him. But he waited. Until she finally caved and leaned her forehead against his, letting him support her wary body. "Alright," she breathed, arms circling around his midriff for an embrace.
"Alright," he smiled, his hand coming to rest at the nape of her neck. Gingerly, he pulled away just enough to be able to examine the cuts on her cheeks. "I've got you, darling."

Excuse me, could you please make headcanons about the reader inviting Malleus, Lilia, Silver and Sebek over to their house in their world to watch Raya and the Last Dragon with them? If you haven't seen it, feel free to watch it before you can get started on the headcanons. Bonus points if they took the movie as inspiration for their next costume for next Halloween since it's inspired by Southeast Asia as Diasomnia's previous Halloween costume is inspired by Mulan (China/East Asia).
I had to watch it before I could write this, and now I’m wondering if it’s even possible for Disney to have a character with two parents that actually love each other, or are alive at the very least.
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
He finds the film quite confusing, but funny at the same time. Usually, his land was filled with fae of all sorts, so being a dragon fae didn’t really mean anything besides the fact that he was larger and stronger than the others. He wasn’t that valuable because of his dragon form. He was valuable because he was the sole heir of the Royal Family.
He sees the close connection between humanity and dragon kind, and he wishes that the Briar Valley could be unified in the same fashion. Unfortunately, it isn’t as easy as Raya makes it seem. Diplomatic affairs were exceedingly complicated. (I mean, if y’all got married… then that would make it so much easier)
He notes the fact that he had drawn inspiration from the movie. He thinks you should dress as Raya when that happens because you care for the future and union of all the dormitories of NRC, and that sounds exactly like the hero of the film. He will definitely see if he can recreate the Sisudatu.
Tumblr media
Lilia Vanrouge
He is dying of laughter at how much Sisu reminds him of how naive Malleus was when he was just a hatchling. Other than that, he finds it quite adorable. It was intriguing to see other takes on what dragons were capable of and looked like.
He also sees the close connection between humanity and fae (dragon) kind. His family (you and Silver) were proof that the two could be united. NRC was proof of that, actually. It might be worth convincing Queen Maleficia into considering that as a possibility.
He was intrigued by the different fashion styles, and realized that there were indeed 5 of you, just enough to portray each of the 5 regions. He will most definitely pitch it as an idea for next Halloween. He knows that they would most likely accept it, he just needed to come up with an idea on how to make a dragon because the dragon from the movie is much different than the type of dragon that Malleus is.
Tumblr media
Silver
He tried his hardest to stay awake, and he beat his record by a few seconds… He made it 5 minutes into the movie before he passed out. He felt so bad afterward, but you understood that being one of Malleus’ knights could be absolutely draining. You did get a bunch of pictures that you definitely sent to Lilia.
Since he fell asleep, he wasn’t able to see most of the film. He was able to see that Raya loved dragons, which kind of reminded him of himself when he was younger. When he was a small child, his only dream was to become a knight of Lord Malleus.
He does like the different styles of clothing per the different nations. He might want to base his dorm’s Halloween decorations and costumes off of the film. You can’t tell me that he wouldn’t look absolutely gorgeous in the Heart Tribe clothing.
Tumblr media
Sebek Zigvolt
This could go one of two ways: he sits upright like a plank as he watches the movie, or he yells about how Waka-sama is much better than Sisu. You don’t get any in between moments. I’m sorry, Sebek simps. Actually, if you fall asleep on him, that is the only way to get him to relax.
Younger Raya reminded him of his present self. He is a huge supporter in whatever Malleus does, so he kind of relates to the heroine when she goes all fangirl about Sisu. However, I would say that he didn’t really enjoy the film. He’s just a guy that prefers books (if the legend was in the library, he’d be a bit more excited).
He does think that the styles of clothing that differ from tribe to tribe are at least a tad appealing to him. More specifically, the Spine Tribe clothing. He’s a buffer man, so he would probably wear the outfit with pride. It makes him feel like one of those rough-and-tough warriors from the film. He definitely presents it as an idea for Diasomnia Halloween.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) Thoughts - Beginning At The End
No photos this time (I might add a few later). But I've got a lot of thoughts (and photos) about this game now that I'm finishing it up, but I just got finished my last sidequest in the postgame and I wanted to gush about it.
Spoilers, by the by. Quite a few of them.
----
The Mysteriums were a lopsided a pain the ass but man am I glad I saved this quest for last.
I've been thinking a lot about how much this game seeks to embody why Peter's beliefs in having empathy for the people he fights and getting to know who these villains are as people matters, and this quest - as well as Quentin Beck's final words to cap off the story - are such a perfect capper to that.
Nothing is as it seems, especially when you look at heroes and villains. Anything can change for anybody faster than you could ever realize it. When you take the masks off, it's all people making decisions. A good person can go down a dark path, a bad person can decide they no longer want to be that person any more. Not everyone is going to, but it's important to know that such a thing is always possible.
Heck, this game has an almost ''unprecedented'' number of reformed villains for a superhero franchise: Sandman, Mysterio, Tombstone, Mr. Negative, Prowler technically Lizard, all people who understand they did wrong and whose only motivation now is trying to make their way in the world going forward.
Jonah has a podcast early in the game where he insists that people never really change (about either Sandman or Lizard, iirc), advocating for criminals to be just kept in prison in perpetuity (which, I like this version of Jonah, but goddamn is he hard to like sometimes). Wraith advocates just killing these guys because naturally they're never going to change and they might as well be removed from the equation. And naturally, Symbiote Peter eventually starts considering the idea that maybe the best way forward is just to kill everybody who could be a threat.
But this game doesn't just counterpoint that by having its ultimate evolution be monstrous like most superhero works: instead, this game makes a strong point of why that mentality doesn't work - this is a fantasy story, but it's also a good point for real life.
Coming from a law family where I had a lot of interaction with formerly incarcerated people, and living in an inner city relationship where - again - anything can happen to skew a person's life in ways nobody thought they would go, it's not just a more realistic point - it's an essential point: people always change, and any belief otherwise is just an excuse not to examine the world around oneself. They can change for the worse, they can change for the better, or just kind of laterally shift, but they always change. A failure to recognize it is a failure of the self, not the other.
There's a strong trend of former villains in this game being taken advantage of by other villains, with the new villains doing so with the expectation that nobody will come to the former villains' aid, trust them, or aid them in any way (Mysterio's partners try to frame him, Tombstone and Negative get abducted by people who were sure no one would come for them, Sandman gets driven mad and dumped onto the city to be tossed into prison). And it's absolutely amazing to be Spider-Man in this game and be the one who fights tirelessly for everybody, even the people who have spurned their chances before, because that's who Spider-Man is.
Even if their stories still don't always end positively. Because it's still the right thing to do it, and it's a worse crime to stop.
Man, I love Spider-Man.
As a final note, I especially like that none of the former villains really expect to be forgiven and several never are. This might be the philosopher in me talking, but it's not in forgiveness that one finds redemption, but in the capacity of change in and of itself.

One thing that is very different in Donal’s and Barney’s Mats is that Barney’s Mat is sort of… he is sort of tired. I mean he is depressed, while Donal’s is in recovery, obviously, but there was sort of defeat in the way Mat was from the very first episode of the first season, that is just not there in season 2.
For show!Mat it is very, very normal to react positively to the blowing of the horn, although I think Barney’s Mat would have not been so open about it. It’s a very interesting change, and I missed Barney a lot this season, A LOT. I wanted the bad boy vibes back, I wanted him to be a bit of an asshole, because Donal’s Mat is not like that at all and I constantly felt sorry for him and it clashed with the Mat in my head basically. The best way I can explain it is that with Barney’s Mat I sort of had the feeling, that if he decided that he likes me, I could really rely on him. Like he WILL come through and he will bitch and moan, but he’ll be with me. With Donal’s Mat he will try to help even if he dislikes me and maybe even won’t bitch about it, but he might do a shitty job? Which are two very different approaches.
But after the scenes where Rand and Mat meet again, where Mat waits for Rand to leave the city, where he takes drugs and where he feels relief that he is one of the heroes, and then immediately hurts Rand on accident? Like these scenes have sold me on Donal’s Mat. He is my sweet cheese, my rotten soldier. Nynaeve patting Mat’s cheek and not even looking at her supposedly dead friend who is now dying for real? Like I get it, I was “no you are so good you need to know”. It’s a completely different vibe though. I love this Mat and I don’t want any other Mats now.
This change suits show!Mat a lot and I wonder if they planned this change for Barney too, and if they did how would he approach that? He was never that sweet and I doubt that he would have gone for it?
if you are the same anon who worried about tumblr going insane and sending me either 1000 asks or no asks about mat, rest assured i got just the one here! all is well!
to me the differences in the two versions of mat were largely due to them being in different circumstances. even pre-dagger in the first 2 episodes of season 1, mat is a) having a bad time at home and then b) getting dragged on a roadtrip from hell. season 2 when mat gets out of tar valon, that's really the first time we've seen him almost completely carefree, so naturally he's much lighter (and i did see some of barney's darker & defeated mat in donal's Captive Mat in the first 2.5 episodes of s2, just like how i see some of donal's lighter mat in barney's Jokester Trying To Cheer Up His Friends Mat in the first 2 episodes of s1).
but at the same time i do feel some kind of difference in Vibe between barney's mat and donal's mat, in a way i can't really put my finger on but is just down to the fact that of course two different people playing the same character will each put their own little spin on that character! for example, i definitely get what you're describing of s2 mat feeling more like a lovable doofus and s1 mat more like an asshole with a heart of gold haha
it's also interesting to consider that barney's mat was written entirely with the original plan for mat in mind, and donal's was written entirely with the revamped plan for mat in mind, so that could also explain some differences! it is quite possible they wanted to make mat more of a lovable doofus in s2 because they knew him staying behind at the waygate was an unplanned change that made him look bad in the eyes of many viewers (not me though!), so they wanted to try extra hard to make him sweet and likable and pitiable in s2 to compensate. and there was for sure a shift in motives for mat between s1 and s2: in s1 he's a reluctant participant in The Plot because he's getting dragged along and just wants to go home to his sisters (more of the "doesn't WANT to be a hero" vibe) whereas in s2 he's a more eager participant in The Plot because hates himself for abandoning his friends and desperately wants to make up for it (more of the "doesn't think he CAN be a hero" vibe).
yeah, now that i'm writing it out i've convinced myself that it WAS the unplanned changes to mat's arc due to the actor switch that's really the key difference between barney's mat and donal's mat! and specifically the changes to his motivations and his willingness to participate in the plot. because s1 mat WAS a grouchier and more reluctant hero even without the dagger's influence, but s2 mat is so desperate to be good and to do good specifically because of the Great Waygate Abandonment. so i certainly don't think this change was planned or would've happened if barney had continued in the role, because his departure was precisely the thing that necessitated the change!
anyway, cosigned on mat being my sweet cheese and my rotten soldier and on him needing to know that he's good!!!!

What fails in MHA: gags/jokes
As well all know gags and jokes are everywhere in shonen but they are rarely done well in my opinion especially in MHA. There isn't a problem with having a bit of comedy in your manga but when the gag or joke either harms the characters development or just is offensive it tends to just fall flat at best and ruin the story at worst.
There are many common and multiple gags hori uses which I HATE:
Izuku/the midoriya family are crybabies. This is one that was VERY PRESENT during the earlier seasons which in my opinion ruined the show and many peoples view of izuku as a character. It makes sense why izuku would cry more then a regular shonen type of MC considering that he is supposed to be a "normal" teenager and he shows some very clear signs of anxiety. I understand when people get annoyed at how much he cries especially because it's very over exaggerated a lot of the time and just depicts him crying a waterfall when you could of just shown him tearing up. It's a bit more excusable for inko but it really doesn't shine a good look on her especially knowing that she is quite emotionally dependent on her son .
Tumblr media
Katsuki being mean towards literally anyone and anything. We know that bakugo is a character who is going through a redemption arc to change and become a better person so we shouldn't see him be so aggressive and angry if he is trying to change especially if it's a joke. A gag like that really ruins his development and to me its the reason why I don't think he really changed his attitude or way of thinking towards izuku as much as people like to believe he has ( CANON BAKUGO AND FANON BAKUGO AREN'T THE SAME )
Tumblr media
Perverted characters like mineta or sir nighteye .Yes, this is definitely targeted towards mineta and night eye because Iam still very disgusted by the scene of bubble girl and night eye and mineta just gives me the absolute CREEPS. honestly, idk what it is with hori and giving us these type of stuff it's honestly disturbing and disgusting I don't think I would mind if it were done to criticise or lambast something about hero societies pedophilic undertones and the way it loves to sexualise female characters but it's just there as a horrible gag.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dumbing down denki and making him seem stupid. This is more of making UA look bad because Denki could of been seriously hurt in the usj because of the whole dumbing him down gag and while it isn't the worst gag in the show it kinda falls flat in my opinion and just makes ua look bad. It's also double standards in my opinion because he would be useless in battle if he were to overuse his quirk just like izuku.
Tumblr media
The interview scene with mount lady. I don't understand why izuku was ridiculed for his lack of control when it came to blackwhip and it doesn't help that some of the characters where DEFINITELY ACTING OUT OF CHARACTER when they all had the same reaction.
Tumblr media
There are some 50/50 gags that still failed due to horikoshi not letting them go or not handling them well.
Izuku's everlasting fanboyism of heroes especially all might. Look this one isn't that bad but like I just don't like the fact that he never grew out of it. I personally like to think that izuku was a big all might fanboy is because he saw all might as the only person who actually believed in him and gave him words of encouragement even if it was through a screen and even if those words where directed towards anyone not only him. As the story progresses izuku should grow to realise that all might is a flawed individual who has cared for him but harmed him at the same time.
Horikoshis perception of izuku being "too intense". This could of easily been incorporated into Izuku's character as an actual character trait that could be used as a gag from time to time. For example we see izuku over think everything or hyper analyse so many small things like fuyumi's cooking. There are moments where izuku seems to come off as weird to other characters and I feel like that shouldn't happen or it should be handled in a better way. I mean how is it that someone doing something so simple as looking at a video intensely will freak/weird you out compared to someone who has a weird quirk or a passerby doing something weird
There are definitely A LOT MORE THAT IAM PROBABLY FORGETTING.
However, hori does have some good gags/ jokes in my opinion, yes they are rare but they do indeed exist like:
Kirishima's manliness. A lot of the time this actually promotes positive masculinity which is something that is definitely needed and it also helps develop kiris character a whole lot more
Tumblr media
This one interaction between jiro and tokoyami. I really liked it, it didn't come out as sexual which is something I really enjoyed and you can clearly tell it's just two classmates vibing and trying not to die
Tumblr media
Tokoyami and his whole darkness persona. Idk I guess this is me but I like it, it adds a lot to tokoyami while also not being overused .
This one Iam 50/50 with and it's yuuga and his whole I like cheese and I can't stop twinkling persona. I think it adds more depth to his character and foreshadows his role as the traitor to a certain extent but I also find it a bit stereotypical considering the fact that he is french and yuuga will just end up speaking in basic french words and then Japanese
Tumblr media
Hawks favourite food ironically being chicken wings. It's simple but it also makes us closer to hawks and can make him a bit more relatable to people
Tumblr media
Izuku, iida and shotos hand crusher joke. That has to be my favourite joke in the series it literally didn't end up mocking anyone and cemented one of the best MHA trios
Overall, hori sucks at making truly enjoyable gags and has a lot that harm characters developments especially surrounding his MC Izuku but he can sometimes actually provide enjoyable ones.

…k, I WASN’T thinking of Hawks being her dad, but now I AM. Not sure how that works exactly - I don’t imagine Hawks would leave his kid if he knew about her - & we are NOT killing him, soooo…honestly, I’m not sure how to feel about Hawks being her bio-dad? Like, I feel like that might be something they figure out fairly early.
Okay now I'm thinking on it more.
This is gonna get a little fucked up so
The whole deal that Hawks made with the Commission when he was a fucking child is just.
"So perhaps you have simply forgot what you signed Oh, honestly, did you not read the colony policy That defines you as company property? That waivers your say in autonomy?"
So yeah they just. Collected some DNA samples at some point. Then when the main plot of bnha kicks in Hawks just. Stops taking orders from them. They try to get him under control, but the whole of society has shifted in ways that they can't force him to continue being their puppet without everything they've done getting put on blast, they look into other options.
And while there's plenty of hopefuls, none are quite as good. And tbh since most of the Heroes know what happened to Nagant and Hawks, they're protective of anyone the Commission scouts so while there's still Heroes getting made, they're not getting their 'special little soldier' out of any of them.
So whoever is in charge of this project decides to just make a child from scratch. And since they can guarantee a good Quirk with Hawks' DNA being added in.... then instead of choosing some random woman they go with one of them hoping that the bio-connection between the child and her handler would result in said child being much more obedient (after all, one of the reasons Hawks was so obedient was them having his mom in custody and knowing that defiance would result in hurting her).
This is also like. Their fuck you to all of the Heroes. Because like. Between Hawks, Nagant, and the Todorokis, they..... kinda set the groundwork for the idea. So the Commission members would know and get a chuckle out of it. And god the devastation and guilt they'd feel if they ever /did/ find out.
And yeah the result is Nijiko. And baby goes through a LOT.
I'm not sure how she'd end up escaping? All I can imagine is one episode of Castle(The Good, The Bad, & The Baby) where someone involved grows a conscience and decides to get her out of there. They manage to make it away from whatever facility is holding her, but are fatally injured. The Heroes find them first but can't get any info from the corpse and Nijiko isn't really talking much.
The Commission is PISSED but can't really show their hand here because Nijiko was kept hidden there's no record of her so her mom can't be like 'oh thanks for finding my baby!' because while she can prove bio-relation there's no record of her existing and that'd raise red flags.
So they just. Have to wait it out and try to get their hands on her again and just put her through their 'training program' later.
And ofc Hawks has no idea about any of this. Like if prompted he might remember the Commission taking some DNA samples or something(but also given the Commission they might not have told him that's what they were doing). But even then the idea of someone using those samples to make a kid....
I think it'd be a while before anyone makes the connection on the bio stuff because like.
So Hawks is. He does not want kids. Given his own traumas, he can't see himself being any kind of good father. Even after he gets a bit of therapy, he still doesn't want to chance it. And considering my endgame ship is him and Toya, who is also in the 'I have a lot of trauma and feel that I should not be trusted as a father', they're not planning to have kids ever.
However if there was a bullshit situation like this where he found out he had a bio kid of some sort, he's not going to abandon said child and he'd try to be a good parent. Same with Toya tbh. And they would be good at it! Trauma makes them scared to try and they wouldn't be perfect but they're capable of figuring things out and asking for help!
Which is why I think it'll be a while before they figure it out since the kid is for the Shoji-Tokoyami family instead of those two. Have Fumikage and/or Mezo find the kid and take them in and then a few years down the line after everyone in the family has established in their heads that they're Nijiko's dads. Hawks is def like. An uncle though. Partly in a 'the extended family' way but also birds of a feather flock together and all that.
Not sure how they'd find out. Maybe something genetic pops up that makes them look into it? Maybe her mom tries something to get her back and ends up revealing the situation? Who knows.
At this point they would tell Hawks and yeah he'd be a bit messed up about the situation and feeling guilty for the fact a kid was made to go through what he did. (Everyone is quick to assure him that it's not his fault!!). He wouldn't try to be anything more than an uncle though because he knows Nijiko has actual good parents now and he's still a part of her life, so trying to adjust that isn't good.
They'd tell Nijiko when she's like. Old enough to comprehend the situation.

Halo Reloaded: Underdog
John slumped against the cool metal wall of the Spartan barracks, arms crossed as he watched his teammates gearing up with a casual efficiency he could only envy. Kelly was double-checking her equipment with the meticulous care of a brain surgeon, and Fred was casually discussing battle tactics like he was planning a weekend barbecue. John's own gear sat untouched at his feet—a silent rebuke.
"Earth to John. You're staring again. Either you've got a critique of my packing skills, or your head's back in boot camp hell," Kelly teased, snapping her fingers in front of his visor.
John snapped out of his reverie, chuckling despite himself. "Guess I was just thinking about the old grinder days. You know, how I was more of a tripping hazard than a teammate?"
Kelly smirked and leaned against the wall next to him. "Tripping hazard, huh? I remember someone who once dove on a 'grenade' to save the squad during drills. Turned out to be a dud, but still, big hero moves there, John."
"Yeah, a dud—story of my training days," John quipped, but the smile didn't quite reach his eyes. "Seriously, though. Remember how Mendez and the coaches were ready to boot me out? I was like one step away from being shown the door."
Kelly’s expression softened. "You heard that? We thought we kept it under wraps."John nodded. "Heard all of it. Made for a great pep talk, really boosted the old morale."
Fred, overhearing, came over with a grin that could light up a room. "If they had booted you, who would have been my wingman? You think Kelly here can handle my bad jokes?"
"Nobody can handle your bad jokes, Fred," Kelly retorted without missing a beat.John's laugh was genuine this time. "Maybe that’s my secret power, huh? High tolerance for crappy humor?"
"It's a vital skill," Fred agreed, winking. "Seriously, though, John. We all knew you had it rough, but look at you now. Still standing, still fighting. That’s more than just tolerance; that’s guts."
John's gaze drifted to his untouched gear. "I dunno. I always felt like I was two steps behind, trying to play catch-up. Even with all the enhancements, all the tech... I was still the kid who couldn't climb the damn rope in gym class."
"But here you are, climbing mountains instead," Kelly said, nudging him gently. "You didn't just catch up, John; you found your own path. That's what being a Spartan is about. Not just following the road laid out for you, but making your own way when the road runs out."
Fred clapped him on the shoulder, his hand heavy in the best way. "She’s right. You've pulled us out of the fire more times than I can count. You think that's because you can run fast or shoot straight? Nah, it's because you've got something a lot of us golden-egg types lack—a refusal to quit when quitting's the only sensible option."
John considered their words, the familiar weight of self-doubt warring with the burgeoning sense of belonging. Maybe he hadn't been the first to scale the hill or the fastest in the sprints, but he'd never left a man behind, never failed to throw himself into the fray.
"Yeah, well, someone’s gotta be the guy who charges in headfirst, right? Might as well be me." His tone was light, but his heart was suddenly lighter too.
"Exactly!" Kelly punched his arm lightly. "Now, quit moping and gear up, hero. We've got a world to save."
As John bent to strap on his gear, the earlier weight of his thoughts felt less like chains and more like armor. He was here because he refused to give up, because he’d turned his every setback into a step forward, however shaky. With a final click of his helmet, he looked up at his friends, his family.
"Let's go show them what the underdog can do," he said, his voice steady and sure.
Kelly grinned. "That's the spirit. After all, every pack needs its wild card."
