After a year of doing art in secret (and forgetting to post anything… I’m sorry I will have my backlog queued up soon!) I have finally accumulated enough power… to revive my ancient human superhero Sonic AU and make it actually good! Here’s a bunch of my sketches, mainly of Sonic and Tails but also of a bit of lore… More to come later!

Intro:
(i'll just put it at the bottom so i remember to delete it)
I have been hoarding all of these (there are like 1000 more in my draft and queue lol) for a while now in my draft bc even tho they are like 3 note gifs, they are historical artefacts to meeee.
Anyway, I've got a cold, and so to occupy myself, I decided to just make a blog so that everything can be organised and easy (ish, this is tumblr after all) to find!
I know heaps of my fellow ✨motogp tumblrinas ✨have made archives for their favs, and you are all braver than me, bc I would lose all the gifs immediately if I tried to create new archival posts. So I just reblogged everything and am going to hope for the best in terms of copyright lol
But yeah, these aren't just my favs. This is more just a snapshot of the fandom at different periods. I only reblogged the deactivated ones, but, y'all, use the posts as little gateways to blogs from that time period, it is FACINATING.
As always, peer review is welcome! If i completely messed up a tag (very likely, since i used the mass tag editor), you're welcome to let me know. Also if there's a ship tag, fun tag or something you want me to add in the mass tag editor, lemme know! more than happy to add literally anything ✨✨
I only started this today, so it's very much a work in progress! All the things without a link are because the posts that match up with them are in the queue. I also need to add the ones i forgot

at the time of posting this, i realized it was august 31st on a saturday again, and that's not exactly common, so screw it.
here's the night they met einarr, on the last saturday evening of the summer of 2019.
the rest of this chapter is under the cut!

disclaimer: despite my research at the time, take the historical accuracy with a grain of salt. this is a webcomic. i may be very autistic about this subject, but i also have no background in academia. thank you <3
and then we get to the older part that i haven't redrawn yet!

HAPPY BLOG ANNIVERSARY!
Tumblr media
it's  officially  midnight  here,  which  means  i'm  allowed  to  post  this!  so ...  happy  one  year  anniversary  of  enduring  the  plague  of  avalon  upon  your  dashboards!  alternatively,  thank  you  so  much  for  giving  me  a  place  to  babble  about  my  #1  favorite  comfort  character  who  has  experienced  zero  comfort.  (  i  swear  i  am  being  SO  NORMAL  about  this.  yes i did literally buy  cake  and  party  hats.  )  whether  we  speak  on  the  daily,  you've  just  gotten  here  or  anywhere  in  between,  i  want  to  extend  my  sincerest  gratitude  for  being  on  this  absolutely  wild  ride  of  a  blog  with  me.  there's  been  ups  and  downs,  but  ultimately  i  feel  like  my  passion  for  writing  has  been  ignited  stronger  than  it's  ever  been  before.  i  am  still  always  so  excited  whenever  i  get  the  chance  to  log  on  here  and  create  stories  with  all  of  you  —  and  i  wouldn't  have  that  opportunity  if  it  wasn't  for  this little  corner  of  the  internet  you've  helped  make truly special.
there  are  so  many  of  you  i  feel  lucky  to  have  met.  (  and  so  many  i  would  love  to  get  to  know  better,  too!  )  i  hope  we  can  continue  writing  together  for  many  more  anniversaries  to  come.  and  if  the  day  ever  comes  that  they  finally  pull  the  plug  on  this  cockroach  of  a  hellsite,  i'll  forever remember  this  community  as  the  rpc  that  got me to  laugh  at  petrichor.
have  a  wonderful  day  /  night!  i'm  sharing  the  cake  with  everyone  in  spirit.

Day 3 of reposting my old Dan and Phil pixelart because I'm pretty sure the original posts are lost to the ether.
These are from the 2021 Phandom Gift Exchange! The first one was for the summer exchange (the person I was paired with had asked for a disco theme) and the second one was for the holiday exchange. I looked through the gift exchange reblogs from those dates and couldn't find them so I'm assuming the originals are gone for good :/.

OH WAIT I FORGOT TO POST THIS!
I title this: Smoking is cool and all 7 year olds should try it.
My DND OC Violet (shadow monk/rogue) in a baseball pinup sort of vibe, I'm obsessed with her. Heavily inspired by my time in the TF2 fandom and a certain type of scout art.
Violet hits things with a stick until they die too, so it kinda fits lmao. I may do more inspired by other TF2 classes? We will see.

Comparing my rankings of the Roman Mysteries books
So last year I decided to post my (completely subjective) ranking of the Roman Mystery books which I sat down and thought long and hard about and ended up pretty happy with in regards to placement, only to discover earlier this year that I'd also made a ranking back in 2020 during a Classics topic at Uni. Now it is time to compare the two lists and see how they differ.
I'll be detailing the ranking from 2020 and then making a note of if there is a difference or not and why I think there might be.
17. The Scribe From Alexandria (17th 2020 and 2023) This remains the same both time around, to the surprise of no one. Truly I do not like this book and three years between these two rankings did not change my mind. Sorry to any fans of it, it just doesn't do it for me.
16. The Beggar of Volubilis (16th 2020 but 15th 2023) This is our first change, and a bit of a surprising one, not because I think I'm being harsh to TBOV (still not my fave at all) but because this means it takes the place of Enemies of Jupiter and now I'm curious to see where I put that. TBOV only moved up one position in three years and honestly, fair. I figure that at the time I was in my 'trying to be nice to Enemies of Jupiter' phase and apparently succeeding.
15. The Man from Pomegranate Street (15th 2020 but 13th 2023) A difference of two spots, and one that genuinely surprises me because it means I ranked Prophet from Ephesus higher than TMFPS, which I'm really glad I changed for my official ranking, because TMFPS is the better of the final two books. I think perhaps that my Lupus bias was in play, because Lupus has more to do in Prophet than in TMFPS. These days I try not to let my love for him cloud my judgement too much lol.
14. The Prophet from Ephesus (14th 2020 and 2023) Another same ranking and one I agree with. TPFE is a fine enough book, undeserving of being at the bottom but certainly not strong enough to be elevated higher. It's just a curious position here for the reasons I mentioned above.
13. The Twelve Tasks of Flavia Gemina (13th 2020 but 12th 2023) Just a slight difference here, with it being one spot lower, and my explanation for that is I was being a bit of a Flavia hater back then, which was mean of me. I see the errors of my way now (obviously Flavia can be pretty annoying but that is by design and mentioned time and time again in the books) and am happy I moved it up for the 2023 ranking.
12. The Enemies of Jupiter (12th 2020 but 16th 2023) This is a massive difference and one I'm a little confused about, because I've always found TEOJ so, so hard to read because of my personal dislike of liar reveal stories. The thing is though, apart from my own personal hang ups, TEOJ is a tense and gripping and well written book, and this is certainly where I can see if landing on the list of someone who doesn't have a distaste for that trope like me. A huge change, but one I understand, even if I'll maintain it's spot in my 2023 ranking.
11. The Slave Girl from Jerusalem (11th 2020 but 7th 2023) Another huge difference but this time in the opposite direction. As I mentioned in my 2023 ranking, I hadn't read TSGFJ much so I can only assume this is why it's so much lower here. Changed for the better certainly, because I love it a lot. That being said, any books being in the lower half of my ranking is by no means saying they're bad. Apart from the final four, these books are all fantastic, and being low down does just happen because of what I personally like to see from stories.
10. The Charioteer of Delphi (10th 2020 and 2023) Snap! Same on both lists. Nothing really else to say, I'm satisfied with this placement.
9. The Secrets of Vesuvius (9th 2020 but 4th 2023) Uh...what? Seriously don't know why this ended much further down on the 2020 list in comparison to its spot in the 2023 list. Can only imagine I was feeling annoyed at the Vulcan mystery on that particular day? Looking at the uni notes surrounding the list, I was on Day 5 of an intensive summer topic surrounding the Odyssey, and as I'd already studied it in extreme detail for a different topic just a few years prior, I appeared to be pretty bored and frustrated lol.
8. The Fugitive from Corinth (8th 2020 but 11th 2023) I think nostalgia might explain why this one is a little higher in 2020 (when I was making these rankings without much thought) than it is in 2023. Don't get me wrong, I love the book, but there are others I love better. TFFC just happens to be one of 9 Roman Mystery books I owned for a good few years (like, 7 years I think) before I got the rest of them and so I'd read it a lot more. Nowadays it's just a little lower now that I can read any of them whenever I want.
7. The Assassins of Rome (7th 2020 but 9th 2023) Bit of a change but nothing major, drops a little just because of books like Slave Girl from Jerusalem getting some well-deserved recognition. I did say in my 2023 list that this one can alternate spots with another book I put above it (we're getting to it next) so it jumping around a bit doesn't surprise me.
6. The Sirens of Surrentum (6th 2020 but 8th 2023) Sometimes I forget how much I loved this book when I first read it. it was one of the 9 I mentioned above and I frequently re-read it. It was one of my first exposures to the topics and themes it explored which really interested me. I think it just moved a little lower on my official ranking because of that nostalgia factor again, and books I'd learned to appreciate moving up.
5. The Gladiators from Capua (5th 2020 and 2023) Yeah, a perfect place for this book. Super happy I matched on this one.
4. The Thieves of Ostia (4th 2020 but 3rd 2023) Just one difference between the two lists, but one that I'm interested by nonetheless. I'm not sure if I can explain it though- as in why it interests me so much. Maybe because of one that ended up above it on the 2020 list.
3. The Pirates of Pompeii (3rd 2020 but 1st 2023) What do you mean I ranked my favourite book third?!?!?!?!! How could this have happened????? (I know exactly why it happened and it starts with the letter L lol) I'm so sorry TPOP, I know your worth now.
2. The Colossus of Rhodes (2nd 2020 but 6th 2023) All aboard the Lupus bias train choo choo. Okay, I keep making it sound like it's a bad thing but it's not. I love Lupus but having him as my favourite character does appear to have affected the 2020 list in a way that I made sure to keep an eye on in my 2023 list. I do love this book but it certainly isn't a top two finisher. Little bits put it down for me when in comparison to the ones that ended up above it in my official ranking.
1. The Dolphins of Laurentum (1st 2020 but 2nd 2023) I know exactly why I did this in 2020 and it's because TDOL is just such a fantastic book and the Lupus backstory is incredible and the gripping terror of the diving is still chilling to this day and the dolphins are amazing and Flavia's troubles are raw and emotional and that line where Jonathan says he breathed his soul into Lupus but that God will fill him back up still hits me for some reason, and I saw all that and just pretended that the bits I didn't like as much weren't there. But they are there in a way they aren't in Pirates, and so I'm really happy with where I ended up putting it 3 years later.
---------
And there's the comparison! I'm genuinely surprised by some differences, can see the logic behind others, and pretty chuffed I synced up once or twice.
I'd love to hear other people's rankings if you agree/disagree/think I'm an idiot lol

Sometimes I ponder the idea of going back to a single blog, like,, not in the sense of leaving my currently active multi behind, or Gil behind, but like, that craving of having a new muse, that has their own space,, it feel like I haven't have that in some time already (and to those who know me, it's nothing unusual to find 844738382 blogs following u which are all mine OTJRPRJTRK)
