I think something that bothers me a lot with veilguard is how little your inquisitor and solas' actual relationship matters, it feels like the game assumes they were friends even if your inquisitor vows to stop solas during trespasser. An inquisitor who hated solas, who solas hated in return, and then vowed to stop solas shouldn't be able to be convinced by rook into being open to the idea of talking with solas. An inquisitor who while they hated solas but for some reason vowed to redeem him shouldn't be able to actually do that, solas wouldn't care to listen to them. An inquisitor who romance solas then was angry at him after he ended things with them and then in trespasser vowed to stop him shouldn't be open to talking with solas either, or if they could be convince it should be more difficult to do so. An inquisitor who had a good relationship with solas but in the end vowed to stop him should be able to be convince into talking with him and be there at the end to talk with solas. An inquisitor who romance solas and was heartbroken when he ended things, who goes onto vowing to stop solas should also be able to be convinced to talk to solas. They could make it a similar situation to when you talk to mythal, you have to say the right things to convince them the person they once knew was actually real and not just a trick. An inquisitor who either romanced him or had a good relationship with him and vowed to redeem him should actively push for Rook to try and see past the dread wolf and see solas, they should be angry at Rook if they choose to either fight or trick solas in the end, if they don't try and redeem him.

And like yeah i understand this would of been harder to do, probably?, but it would of been worth it. It would have been worth it to include what your relationship with solas actually is when your created your inquisitor because the inquisitor, and mythal, are both necessary if you want to get the ending where solas willing binds himself to the fade.

Evbo from PVP Civilization is..fascinating in terms of morality and how he weighs the value of sentient life. This young man has, a frankly shocking amount of kindness and respect for those he deems to be worthy of it, especially for PVP Civilization. But will casually kill off side characters, regardless if they have threatened him or not. Sure, you could say that these deaths were necessary and a thing he just had to do to survive and get to the next layer.. But he is seemingly unbothered by the idea of taking lives. He is himself, scared of dying for the first part of the series, but then starts throwing himself into danger and having others kill him, not himself, but other people. For the first episode of the series, he is on the edge of death, scared of the marketplace and something must've happened that stuck with him in particular. Then that fear is gone, and with it, the pacifism he originally had in the series. He never killed someone until Tabi came along. Evbo cares a whole lot for his companions, going so far as to let them kill him without mercy, but cannot show the same level of empathy for people he just..runs into for the sole purpose of slaughter. Even when they actively flee from him, even when they pose zero threat to him as an immortal being, he still kills. This sole fact is why I personally don't think that Evbo is entirely innocent nor can be written off as being a complete victim, nobody is in this series. You have to kill to survive, descending down, down, further down into your own depravity. Relinquishing any morals that may be tying you down. He's almost there, but not quite enough to be on the same level as say, Tabi. This poses a new question. How low can he sink before he hits rock bottom?

Wanna talk about Bloodweave and the spawn siblings, specifically how Astarions siblings would interact with Gale in that ending where they settle down in the under dark (and gale starts a vampire book club 🤓)

(DISCLAIMER Since don't know too much about Astarions siblings (more so than others) , alot of this is just me having fun and assigning character traits to them according to how I imagine my game went)

Starting with these two!

Dalyria:

I think these two would get along incredibly well! I can see them talking for hours about their respective (sometimes morally dubious) research, boring absolutely anyone within earshot. I think they could bond over some questionable decisions they've made (gale with the orb And Dal with trying to cure her vampirism with Victoria.) and find comfort in one another . Especially since I HC gayle saves Victoria in game but more on that in Leon's section. Out of all the siblings, Dal is the only one Astarion trusts to leave gale alone with.

Also think Dals research leads to gale finding a way for astarion and the others to walk in the sun again. I don't think she joins the book club tho bc Leon is often there and well... Y'know awkward... But gale does leave a book on her desk from time to time.

Petras:

ahh the spawn I love thinking about post game the most bc I think Petras develops a big crush on Gale. I see it being pretty gradual tbh, He doesn't like Gale at first because he's Astarions and Petras has made it a habit to dislike everything about his "older brother" thank you very much (even though I think petras entire coping mechanism is to badly copy everything about astarion bc he subconsciously thinks it was the only way to survive his enslavement, hence they way he talks and Astarions fucking EA outfit, he stole it from Astarions trunk when he disappeared I just know it) .

So yeah I think it's a few months of Petras being huffy around this handsome annoying wizard while Gale continues to be nice to him. One day Gale offers to teach petras magic (he's a teacher by heart!) much like the canon weave scene and it ends with Gale genuinely but naively exclaiming "You're a natural! Why, you've picked it even faster than Astarion did!"

This is cataclysmic.

It's the first fucking time Petras has been better than Astarion in anything. Petras is immediately heart eyes and obnoxiously smug. Astarion is murderous. Leon and Dal stop a murder. Gale is sent to sleep on the couch.

Any potential brotherly reconcilation is destroyed by Astarion overhearing Petras telling Dal that when Astarion fucks this up then Petras will swoop in and marry Gale. Violet begins to cackle as all of her siblings hold Astarion ,whose now willing to lose an arm, back from dragging Petras to the surface

Petras joins the book club just bc Gale's leading it. He does not read anything but pesters Yousen for answers so he can look smart in front of Gale.

I think if I were to put Percy in an alternate house Id actually make him a puff

like i get where people are coming from with he's ambitious = he's Slytherin like yeah makes sense

but I think i could make the same argument with He's hardworking = he's Hufflepuff

though this is more for like outside reasons

If he (or any Weasley really) was put in Slytherin i think the rest of the family would really not take it well at all

I wont say to extent of outright disownment but the way that person would be treated would be way worse especially by their siblings

that disappointment would be there with any house tbh but with like Hufflepuff it gets turned into a small thing

thinking about arthur and gwen and i think the best part about their relationship for me is the Choice. theyre two people with not alot of agency in their lives, for varying reasons. arthur obviously has a lot more privilege, but has to play a part in order to rule his kingdom properly lest he be seen weak to others and put his people in jeopardy. hes born and raised in one role, to be a prince then a king. he takes it on with pride, but you Know he feels stifled. gwen, on the other hand, is a black servant girl born in a lower class family. she may not have a certain “role” shes required to fill but she still has to work hard to provide for her family and for herself. she has to look and act like a proper lady lest people think shes unfit for her job, she has to be subservient in order to keep her already fragile status. the agency they do have is very limited, not just by society but by their own morals and beliefs. however, despite all of that, they both choose to take a risk with this one thing. they decide to take a risk Together, and they do it for Years!! they wait for YEARS!!! they work hard to be together, to Stay together, and while they may not have been eachothers first loves - they make it last because they Choose to make it last.

personally, thats way more romantic that being destined for eachother. they chose eachother and kept choosing eachother everyday, what else is there to say?

Something that's been really bothering me is how good aligned characters are often seen as 'boring' simply because they're good, all while every other part of their character is completely ignored.

A character's complexity shouldn't aligned with their morals, rather their relationship to them and others they share their story with.
