basically treats you like his own kid but hes never been a dad before so hes still learning; torn between him being over protective of you or thinking you're indestructible (which... technically you are as long as youre in the digital world). i think he finds your sweetness adorable, though if theres someone in the circus being mean to you (surprisingly i dont think jax would be too mean. a little bit of a butt? yeah but its not much different than an older brother picking on their younger sibling) i think he would pipe up and not shut up until you get an apology. starts watching IHAs more now that you're here, both to see how youre doing but also to make sure its not too crazy for you.. cant help but let the big scary monster/trial pass when you run up to it being nice. literally just snaps the thing out of existence/away/wherever. loves seeing the look of triumph on your face afterwards

nice towards you and probably over time keeps a closer eye on you but in the beginning i think its more like. you following her like a duckling since shes busy trying to find an exit. honestly i think pomni would have a hard time when it sinks in that theres a little kid here in the circus. how did you get here? when did you get here? i think thats what would prompt her in trying to connect with you, thus you gain another guardian figure! sticking true my idea of pomni being uneasy around kids because they can be gross and have no filter and be unpredictable i think at first she would be a little... tense around you, but overtime becomes more comfortable when she realizes youre not like that. definitely going to take a while, though.. shrugs

GANGLE:

definitely finds you sweet, lets you hang around in her room and mess with her art supplies. probably cries harder when you try to make her feel better after jax does something, usually something that leaves her with a broken comedy mask. i dont think she would let you confront jax about it, though... she appreciates the sentiment but shes not about to make it look like she sent a little kid to defend her, thats only going to give jax even more ammo even if you stood up for her on your own. sometimes lets you put stickers on her mask or glitter... ponders.. i think she reads stories to you too, every night

ZOOBLE:

i think ive already said this before but zooble gives off such older sibling energy, and i cant really explain it other than its just the personality and looks... but i guess that doesnt explain much. shrugs. sweet younger sibling, cool but indifferent older sibling. or at least you think theyre cool. and you tell them every chance you guy. i think they would just give a weird "thaaanks.." the first few times before fully leaning into the older sibling role. dont get me wrong like before they wouldnt just leave you wandering around alone during an IHA, hell i dont think they would there wasnt one going on.. but they wouldnt go out of their way to hang out with you.. but eventually they just kind of keep a closer eye on you. check in on you. ask what youre up to. theyre not attached to you by the hip but theyre definitely present in your life as a role model. tries to make you be less nice, gives you the talk that not everyone is nice and sometimes some people fake being nice in order to get what they want. but in kid terms, obviously... well not little kid terms i still think zooble would be blunt but they wouldnt be harsh

Ok, I think I’ve color coded most of the key parallel stuff! Some of this… reaches more than others, but I think when you start looking at it this way it looks more and more solid. I was going to go through the whole series episode by episode with this sort of analysis in regards to the ship but honestly these are some of the most key episodes. I think if i were to look into any others, my goals would be to look into Haruhi in Wonderland and Until the Day it Becomes a Pumpkin, because off the top of my head those are the last ones with any interactions.

im gonna be clear w you and say that i have no intention to seek out ur main blog, nor do i know wht it is. im not seeking to out whatever ur main may be bc even though what happened happened i dont think this would be a long standing pattern tht warrants ppl knowing who u are across all ur socials. its not a case like some others tht are entirely unapolagetic for hurting other ppl and spread that type of influence across multiple platforms if that makes any sense, or tht ur an adult who is exploiting other adults and/or children

and again i truly dont believe ur some sort of horrible person, there arent good and bad ppl, just actions, right? some can choose actions that hurt or help others, or any other range of descriptors, but tht doesnt lock them into a singular state of being. ppl can always change, its always a choice u can make. the past cant be undone but u can learn from it to inform what may be the correct choice in future decisions.

i had a hard time coming to terms w it myself since i also was a child that would talk to people much older than i was about vore, and then realizing as an adult how much it fucked my mental health for these other adults to use children as their emotional comforts. nobody ever talks ab how hard it is to face that when they legitimately helped you w your comforts, but at the same time... put you in the fire. esp if they were also ur age but engaging in the same exploitation, very recently i had to make an extremely difficult decision to stop talking to somebody who was the same age as i was and knew me since we were kids because they pressured me into situations with other ppl they knew, they never took me saying no seriously.

its hard for me not to get mad, and then to balance showing that emotion on this blog. bc i do want to be extremely sincere in that im angry at the actions ppl have decided to take, but i dont want it to be the sole driver of why i do this. theres genuine concern and hurt too, i dont want what happened to me or my friends to happen to other ppl, and it feels like ppl dont listen if u take it up privately bc its easily quashed. there has to be a way for these things to not be ignored by the greater community.

yes!!! everything that he does is this crafted story, he’s turned himself in to a character, and the only person whos ever gonna hear it is jango himself. theres no point to it. he wasted his life, he wasted the life of every clone. he made the years they did have horribly. he made his own life awful and ensured that every year he did live before this pointless ‘sacrifice’ pretty much amounted to torture. he allowed himself 0 comforts. he set up the clones to live a life of 0 comfort. for what?

the entire performance was just to save him some short term discomfort so that he didnt have to acknowledge his grief for what it was and face up to the fact that the people he’d lost werent asking anything of him. there was nothing of them left, to ask him to sacrifice his life, to see them avenged. nothing makes the fact that they were gone, and could not ask anything of him, than the fact that he’s doing something for them that they never WOULD have asked for. theyre gone. theres nothing he can do for them. he can only make poor guesses at what they might want (and i think he got to: revenge. because thats the only thing he can possibly give them. he couldnt admit that they want NOTHING because they are dead and gone, so instead he’s like. ‘i think they want me to avenge them and i think they would want me to do anything to get it. even if thats a complete betrayal of all the values we shared.)

and yes. he’s so human. all of his flaws all of his mistakes, alarmingly human. they are just the absolute end of the scale. the most exaggerated human mistake you could ever make. 

jango is like: what if a human completely betrayed themselves and lost all that they once were. 

and then, looking at his character you’ve got to face the horrific realisation, that should a human do that, they would in fact still be a human. he is a person, still. he is just a person that has corrupted themselves beyond belief. which is a horrible uncomfortable thing to face really. it would be easier if he were a monster. but no. the things that he did, the things that you could never imagine doing? a person did those. a person rationalised them. and under the right pressures, any person could let themselves fall so low. any person could, do things so awful and still tell themselves they are justified.

if you just look at the outside. he doesnt seem like a real person. he doesnt seem to make sense. and thats cause what he’s presenting isnt him. jango is human. but what you see isnt jango. its a projected image. its if you took a person and copied them and then copied that. and yeah i absolutely dont think that throwing jango or anakin in therapy against their will would do shit lol. i wrote a post saying how i actually think that if you did that to Anakin, you’d probably just make him worse lol

the only way for either one of them to turn away from this steady climb downwards that they both take, is for something huge to happen, which absolutely shakes them to the core and makes their whole web of rationalisations and lies and like coginitive distortions fall down. the castle falls, they have to rebuild themselves from the ground up and in doing so, may well actually find it in themselves to face up to all that they are running from. a big thing with both of them is that they do a bad thing and then rather than admit its a bad thing, they rationalise it and go on to do another bad thing AND then there are 2 bad things to run from. and it goes on and on. ‘falling’ isnt like walking off a cliffedge. its like running down a hill. its easier to keep letting yourself gain momentum because the alternative is to stop moving your legs completely and fall arse over tit before you get up again, and make the slow trek back up the hill. jango and anakin do not realise they’re running, so they’ll never stop going down that hill.

i’ve actually played with this idea a few times in stuff i’ve written. i dont like to call it a redemption arc really as that almost implies that the things that anakin and jango have done is forgivable, and i dont think thats the case. i think a big part of them turning away from a ‘fall’ is accepting the fact that they fucked up beyond reason, and absolutely nobody owes them forgiveness for that. its the realisation that you have done the unforgivable and you can not expect forgiveness, but that it is worthwhile trying to be better going forward all the same. you try to be better, knowing that you can never make up for what you have done, because the alternative is to do even more bad stuff. and less bad stuff is always best lol. you owe the people that you hurt, the people that did not survive your cruelty, the effort that it takes not to create even more victims. 

i have a half written fic on ao3 where they do this not redemption arc together actually and as a result of which, end up bringing down palpatine before order 66. (in the weirdest turn of events out there. i love to cram 2 characters together who’ve never met and be like ‘what if they went through some shit and ended up being friends? what then? lol) but yeah i think that in order to ever start on that path, for them even to see that there is a path that goes anywhere other than ‘get worse and worse till i die’ something has to shatter them. (i uh....may have killed off obi wan and remodelled canon a bit so that jango had been in a relationship with him for 2 decades, meaning that his death was a bit of a ‘2 birds one stone’ in terms of. breaking both anakin and jango at the same time)

but yeah. i think about this a lot lol

ok so thinking about how on the surface Jango doesnt really make sense as a character. there are all these contradictions, a cold cruel man, who hurts children, yet loves his son. an ignorant man who died because he let himself get tangled with dangerous people, who is also considered to be one of the best bounty hunters out there(he's clearly intelligent, and observant). and thinking about why

i've been thinking about how Jango seems to be a contradiction because he is two men, not one.

The jango fett we are presented with isnt a real person. he is an image created by the real jango fett. its a diguise a misdirect. he wants people to believe in his ruthlessness, his viciousness. he doesnt want people to believe him capable of love or mercy. he wants people to think him cold.

so we are left with 2 jango's: the person he is trying to make everyone believe he is, trying to make himself believe in. brutal, unrepentant, the best. This is the jango on the surface. and then there is  who he has always been in truth.  pushed down, twisted, but still there. a person that does know that the things he does are unforgivable, a man that does know he could be better, and more than that, a man who is scared. who has seen the worst happen more than once, and stands in its shadow. a man who is angry, because he is overwhelmed by grief, by the helplessness of it all.

i've said before that i think the grief of losing his family, then jaster, then his people, and then the trauma of slavery, kind of broke him as a person, right? his past defines him. it is the only reason he keeps walking & it is the only reason he cant live.

i think that trying to escape from that grief results in him being numb in a way. he does not see the self corruption as it is happening as he is not willing to see it. that denial, the ignorance, his refusal to see the truth of his actions, their futility, that all feeds in to him becoming the kind of person that he hates. he was a leader, of a group of people that valued children (which the clones were), valued their language and their culture (which he pretty much leaves behind), and valued fairness. its about punching up (or laterally)  not down. they clearly believed in him! they followed him to the end when he was barely more than a kid and then some of them even followed him to kamino  betraying themselves, because he asked them to. For him to have been accepted as leader (by mandalorians who clearly wouldn’t shy from deposition) I think that he could not have always been the man we see in aotc. I think that he was once someone different, who wouldn’t have done the things that he did, but that then he lived a life that made him in to someone that could.

theres an obvious conflict there between the person he was, the person jango might have been in a better galaxy, and the person he is and i think thats because he's forcing himseld in to a new mold. theres this image we see of him as someone cold and efficient, with the confidence to always believe he’ll win. He is brutal, someone to be feared, not someone who fears. he's made himself in to someone that always wins. but he didnt. he was clearly smart enough to notice that he was wrapped up in something that'd kill him. he didnt make any plans should he survive, in fact he made plans for the opposite, setting Boba up to find people that would 'continue teaching him' (be cruel enough to steer Boba away from vulnerability) it makes sense for a man with a death wish, but the image we are shown of jango doesnt seem like someone that wants to die. because what we see isnt real and the real jango, thinks himself already dead. death is a certainty to him. then, the glimpses of his love for Boba that we see. he says its about building a legacy, and maybe thats what he's told himself, but there is something more there, lurking beneath the surface. what we see isnt the real jango, it is something he has crafted.

he is lying to himself. he is so inauthentic, even to himself, that he's pretty much forgotten who he is. who he was. i think his whole thing is about telling himself that he is right and that the choices he has made are the only ones he could have made. that anyone in his position would do the same. But he can’t believe that, he knows that he could have done better, so he makes himself in to someone that couldn’t.

when i look at jango i see a man telling a story. a man who is desperately trying to tell it in a way that concludes with him, the victor. he is trying to rationalise, to find a way that he can still win, but he has already lost. he was dead from the start. jango only exists, as background to all the characters that survive him. he led a hard life, it twisted him in to someone that would do terrible things and then he died before the story had even started really. he only exists, he only went through those  awful things, to help set the main events in action. he is the clones terrible childhood. he is the man that lost himself, betrayed children, before anakin ever did. he is the man who enabled the clone plot (because would it have happened without him? maybe. but it doesnt matter, it never needed to , because jango was always going to be there to play his part)

so he's telling this story, he's made himself in to a character, one that nobody looks beyond, but its not a story that anyone is there to hear. jangos story doesnt matter ultimately, because it could have been anyone else. the galaxy is full of people who've lived lives like jango fett. he puts all he has in to telling his version of this story. but nobody seeks it out. the only person he is telling this story to, the only person who cares enough to ask why? why did he do those things was he justified? is himself. the story he has built, the person he has created, dont matter to anyone else. there is noone there to hear jangos story, so the whole pursuit was pointless. he destroyed himself for no reason.

he's so repressed he doesnt even remember its a lie. he doesnt remember he ever was anyone else. and nobody really sees it. because they are all so far away. in the end jango doesnt need to push people away, they dont even try to get close. because the persona he's put on, isnt someone that would ever need anyone. would ever want anyone. he is empty, flat.

there is no point to any of it. he's doing this for revenge but has he asked himself if this is what they would have wanted? of course not! the dead dont desire revenge, they are dead. revenge is for the living. for the survivors. jango is the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. he understands people. he can read them. he can see their next 5 steps. but he can never know himself. because he will not allow himself to

your anxiety skyrocketed as you saw crimson red trail along his exposed skin and wounds.

but along with your worry, you suddenly jumped right to your feet and felt your adrenaline pumping.

no one hurts your boyfriend and gets away with it.

bennett had never seen anything quite like it when you grabbed your weapon.

you caused a whole massacre.

you focused in, sprinting around as you slaughtered every single monster that was around. they disappeared within minutes, turning into practically ashes as they died to your hand.

you wiped your mouth, breathing heavily as you lowered your weapon and then turned back to your boyfriend.

he was sitting down now, having took out the bloodied arrows from his wounds and staring out at you.

“Y-Y/N…” he stuttered out quietly, watching as your body placed itself in front of him, your weapon dropped on the ground as you held your bag.

rummaging around, you began to ask him where it hurt the most, or if he had gotten any other wounds, or if he was feeling lightheaded.

he was unusually quiet, nodding or shaking his head at your inquiries, watching as you grabbed bandages and a rag.

as you examined his wounds, his eyes would be locked on you.

bennett was used to getting hurt. he was considered unlucky for a reason, he knew. but the effects of the electricity and ice causing extra damage were severe compared to normal wounds.

“this is going to hurt, honey. i’m sorry.”

you quickly began to clean the wounds and the areas around it, earning a hiss from him as he felt his eyes scrunch up and close.

tears streaked down his face as he hugged himself, hiccuping and shaking as he whimpered.

“y-y/n...it hurts...it hurts r-really badly. please, s-stop it…”

you paused for a moment as you put some pressure on his shoulder wound, wrapping it up and putting it in place as you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding.

you knew what he had just wanted to explore and adventure into liyue with you.

and you knew he deserved so much better than what had just happened to ruin the moment and excitement he had built up.

so you decided to comfort him in the way you knew he liked the most.

you lowered your head down softly, pressing a very light and gentle kiss on top of the shoulder bandages.

bennett sniffles softly, looking down at you as you leaned up and smiled gently at him.

“consider the kisses like medicine. they’ll help the pain go away faster.”

he couldn’t help but crack a small, shaky grin at that, finding it humorous as he then felt you wrapping the bandages around his other wound.

once more, you pecked the bandages quietly, feeling the way his muscles would untense at your delicate touch.

you treated him as if he was a fragile cecilia flower, and if he was being honest, he loved the way you doted on him in the moment. even if it hurt.

looking up at his face, you noticed some scratches here and there from the monsters when you weren’t looking.

you quickly grabbed some smaller bandages, sticking a few on his face where needed before you cupped one of his cheeks.

your placed kisses all over his face: his forehead, his nose, both his cheeks, anywhere you could get a hold of.

and every tear that ran down his face or in the corner of his eyes was combated with a sweet peck from you.

his cheeks were a soft pink as you showered him with love.

he loved being the center of attention in private like this. and since you knew it too, it made his heart swell even more.

“let’s go to sleep, my little flame. your wounds will heal faster in combination with some rest.”

bennett felt like his insides would explode as you used the nickname and gently helped him up, shuffling over to the single, open sleeping bag.

but he quirked an eyebrow as he glanced around, looking for your own bag.

“where’s your sleeping bag?” he became even more confused as you did a small gasp.

“i suppose i have left it at home! guess we just have to share…~”

bennett paused for a moment before he put a hand on his hip and shook his head with his usual, solar beam of a smile. he was too naive to understand what you had meant.

“my bad luck is rubbing off on you, y/n!” he would joke with you as you two slipped underneath the covers.

you made sure he was covered and supported before you felt a tug at your hands. glancing up, he tilted his head.

“let’s cuddle and keep warm…you be big spoon this time. i like feeling protected by you.” bennett mumbled before he felt your hands gently weave around his waist, pulling his back carefully up against your chest.

he was a little heat warmer of sorts thanks to being a pyro user, so you gladly took the opportunity to snuggle in with him.

you were about to say something, but you could already hear his breathing slow and how he snored cutely every now and again. 

you supposed the arrows did more damage than you thought. 

plus, if he was sleeping, that was a good thing. he’d be back up and running in no time. 

semantics aside however, as long as you were here, you would make sure that nothing stood in between your lover and yourself ever again.

Brothers anon, sorry its been like 2 days since I last submitted something! I've been busy and whenever I finally had time to sit down and write this all its like 1 in the morning. I hope its still ok for me to send these.

🌹 anon ima respond to you first, your The Deal au could be the reason why and how Ranboos and Dreams soul got mixed and linked together. But then a problem is how did it pass to Ranbob? In my au, each person has their own soul basically. And while certain attributes like DNA can be passed through bloodlines, souls can't, as their unique to their person. 

What left Ranbob vulnerable to Dream is that he was seen as the star student. The apprentice everyone wanted. He always got perfect grades and was seen as the smartest in the City. This did not go well. As Ranbob was put under a ton of pressure to always stay perfect and get everything right. When his grades started to slip and his chosen mentor started to put even more work on him, his mentality started to suffer. With him losing sleep and starting to not care for himself or do the basic necessities like eating or drinking, all in an effort to be "perfect". Its through this need, and weakened state over all, Dream's presence was able to slip in and convince him to let him help.

Benjamin is 30, Isaac 29, Cletus is 24, and Charles is 27. 

When Ranbob first told Ran about the Dream mask and how he wasnt himself, Ran did not believe him at all. And kept saying that he needs to stop lying and fess up to what he did and pay for it. Others tried to convince him that his brother really wasn't in control of himself, but was met with strong skepticism, scoffs, and disbelief. With Ran not beliving that was the truth at all.

Watson was very shocked but quickly reorganized himself cause he had to calm Jackie, and its only after Jackie fell asleep he was like "Oh fuck. I really am the dad huh?" Jackie was embarrassed at first but after some prodding did say how he truly saw Watson as a dad figure in his life. And everyone had different reactions to Watson suddenly accepting and fitting into the dad role. Jackie was excited and immediately started calling him dad and asking him awkward dad questions "Dad whats puberty?" "Uhhh-" "Dad where do babies come from?" "Ask your dad about that!" "But you are my dad!" Ran seemed indifferent about it but Watson can tell he's revealed to have someone to talk too, and someone to go to if things get to much. Grievous keeps sating he doesn't need a dad but he's the one that goes to Watson the most for things like hugs, comfort, and advice. 

Jackie and Grievous do everything. They rig the battle field so if someone steps in a certain area water will shoot up into their face, Grievous usually taunts and distracts opponents so Jackie can sneak up behind them and just latch onto them and cover their eyes while giggling like a madman as the opponent screams and runs around trying to get him off. Jackie regularly pulls peoples seat out from under them, while Grievous scares them and makes them choke or drop something. But they do know peoples limits. Like for Ran, no water related pranks (there was an incident where Grievous spilled a whole bucket of water on him and Ran got severe burns and had to stay in the hospital ward for a few days), for Watson don't mess with his bow or arrows, he will stab you. And for eachother, Jackie, no pranks that leave him alone for extended periods of time or makes it seems like everyone is gone/left. For Grievous no pranks centered around food or drinks (like putting toothpaste in his sandwich or putting pepper in his beer). 

Ran and Jackie have a 50/50 win if that makes sense. They both win and lose pretty often. They play games like Spoons, Go Fish, Dart Throwing (Watson needs to be present for this one), something similar to Cards Against Humanity, Poker (everyone plays during this one), and Tic Tac Toe. 

Sometimes Jackie loves being the smallest and other times hates it. He hates it when Ran steals something of his and holds it above his head, he sometimes resorts to aggressively climbing Ran to get it but Ran tends to just pluck him off, and people make fun of him in a mean natured way (he's fine with light teasing). But he loves it when he rides Ran's shoulders or can duck under peoples legs and trip em. Because he's also small and fast he's hard to catch and that definitely comes in handy during fights. No ones particularly protective of eachother (excluding Ran who's protective of everyone), because they know none of them like being babied and they can all hold their own, though they will quickly flock to help eachother if they need it. Ran definitely flaunts it whenever their in a agurement. 

There is a area under the fighting arena of the pit where they stay. Theres separate rooms for everyone, training areas, dinning areas, and just chilling areas. Theres even extra rooms meant for often visiting friends (Like Genevieve) and some for storage of weapons which also holds things to sharpen them or get new ones. The Pit itself is in the middle of a gaint city, so there are tons of stores and food areas around. And because of a high salary the King gives them they go out quite often, often eating out and browsing stores when their not training or sleeping. 

If by other combinations you mean like Ran-Jackie, Ran-Grievous, Watson-Jackie, and Watson-Grievous then it highly varies. Watson and Jackie are by far the worst team, their styles just don't match and constantly but heads during battles. Watson and Grievous are probably the best out of the 4 teams because Grievous can be serious and works well with Watson as he's much more willing to change his fighting style to accommodate whats needed. Ran and Jackie are like Jackie and Grievous, but they aren't nearly as insane. Rather Ran provides distractions while fighting to give Jackie time to sneak up behind them. Ran also is the only one able to actually throw Jackie, which they sometimes do during battles. And Ran and Grievous work well together, but not as much as Watson and Grievous, its just a few things of both their styles don't match or could potentially cause problems.

He's clumsy flat out, he isn't used to having full control and needs to get used to certain things like walking or talking again. He is also severely dehydrated and malnutritished because Dream didn't care enough to drink or eat. He's also incredibly skittish and scared easily. He and Cletus's relationship isn't solved fast at all, it takes months and the work of everyone to get the two comfortable around eachother. They start by putting Cletus on watching duty, where he watches over Ranbob to make sure he's eating and drinking and resting while not tiring himself out. Then after a month or 2 Isaac, Benjamin, and Charles start purposely leaving the two in a room alone toghere to get them to talk stuff out. It takes 3 months until their comfortable enough with eachother to willingly talk and hang out. Oh the house building attempts went aboustely awful. They sometimes fell on Ranbob! And when they didn't they just collapsed or got blown away by the wind, but Isaac did ofter help a few times and showed him multiple different ways to make sure the walls stay up and keep the cold out. 

Ran is very unhappy with Ranbobs haunting, he thinks their kind of like Ranbob in which they've all killed people and considers them a threat at first, but when he sees how his haunting likes and interacts with Ranbob's, he losens up a bit, his group trusts them, so he has to trust them a little bit. But he doesn't trust them or like them nearly as much as he trusts and likes his haunting. 

Im guessing you mean who from the two groups get along the easiest. Most of them take a while to get to know eachother, like a few hours. But after that their all really close. Charles and Jackie, Cletus and Grievous, and Benjamin, Isaac, and Watson are the groups that get along really well really fast. 

Im honestly probably am going to go for them adventuring outside the City to try to get the brothers to get along again. Mostly cause I thought of the idea that what if Watson, Jackie, and Grievous all lie to Ran, and while they are actually going on an adventure, they lie to him that his brother and his group isn't coming. Then when its much to late for Ran to back out, Watson just goes "Oh yeah! Your brother and his group are traveling with us. And you can't do anything about it." And Ran just sits there shocked. 

Ran and Ranbob are both subtle protective of their group. With Ranbob never really getting aggressive or going into overbearing. But for Ran, if someone in his group is injured badly enough or if there's a big enough threat he does get overbearing and extremely aggressive towards whatever/whoever the threat is *cough cough Ranbob cough*. Ranbob tends to be very physical, listening more to a certain instincts that tell him to constantly have a view on or hold his family, as if he doesnt see or touch them for a long time he gets very anxious and panicky, thinking his family is dead and that he's all alone again. His group understands this and so tends to not stray to far away from Ranbob. He will also follow his group like a lost puppy at times. Ran while listens more to the instinct that tells him at random times to make sure his family is ok and to bond with them. The bonding leads to him randomly grabbing them and just sitting down with them, most likely playing games. While the random urge to check on them has led to him waking them up during the middle of the night or interrupting his own conversation or others conversations just to ask if their ok. His took a while to understand why he does it, but now if he wakes them up or drags them somewhere, they know to go along with it and comfort him during those times. 

Hybrids are rare! Especially aggressive or netural type mobs like Ran, Ranbob, and Porkius are. Their actually seen as monsters and are chased out or hunted in other city's because people aren't accepting of them. Theres very few city's like Subbin that fully welcome and are even led by hybrids. So there are more hybrids in Subbin, than there is anywhere else.

1: Wow, Ranbob’s really going through it, huh? Does he ever start to fall back on that need to be ‘perfect’ while with the others? If so, how do they deal with that? And how is he with others offering to help him? If he even can really recall falling under Dream’s thrall, by accepting such an offer, how does he react to others doing the same, even if their intentions are far different?

2: So we’ve settled all the ages down, nice. You figure out anything for their backstory yet? And how do their ages affect their relationships with one another? Does Benjamin take the lead a lot? Or is he more of a follower that still has a lot of say? Who met who first?

3: So Ran’s obviously going to be awhile before he believes what went down. Still, I can’t imagine he’d have been as willing to go along with his hauntings little roadtrip plan if he wasn’t swayed at least a bit, since I can’t imagine he wouldn’t have put his foot down if he truly though Ranbob had done what he did. Why exactly does he go along with it? Does some small part of him want to give his brother a chance? Is he just confident he can overpower him, and looking for an opportunity to settle the score? Does he see something that makes him hope a bit? What’s going down there, anon?

4: On one hand, very adorable. One the other hand, poor Watson. Does Jackie actually not know that stuff, or does he do that just to mess with his new father figure? It seems like they all take to it pretty well overall though.

5: I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Two people to truly fear. How many people straight up forfeit when faced with this combination? It seems like they’ve had some interesting times, good and bad. How’d those play out? As for those last two, I’m sensing a bit of a backstory. Why does Grievous not like stuff being put into his food? And why’s Jackie not good with being left?

6: So it’s fifty/fifty, huh? Who wins the most at what games? And uh, Watson has to be present for Dart Throwing. What happened there? How’s everyone’s poker faces? Who’s got the best luck in games of chance?

7: A love/hate relationship with height. I feel ya, Jackie. Very funny to imagine though, Jackie just, physically climbing up Ran. How tall even is this guy?? How do they deal with meaner teasing, not just from the gladiators, but from general bullies? Not everybody’s as friendly as some of the Pit fighters, after all. And how do the fishermen react with their fighting skills? Obviously, they must know how to fight somewhat, to have entered the Pit, but the gladiators do this for a living. How much is the difference in skill level? And does the gang ever get to show off just how skilled they are? 

8: Their home sounds very nice, honestly, I wished I could live there, minus the people. What’s everyone’s rooms look like? How have they personalized them? Which brings up another question-what kind of interests and hobbies do they have? What kind of things do they do that aren’t fighting and related to such? And they must be pretty well known, to have such high pay. Any of them have an arena title, or some sort of stage name? How many people can recognize the city’s top gladiators on sight? And how do they get around that, when they don’t want to be seen? How do people feel about them in general?

9: All these team ups sound terrifying, and I wouldn’t want to be facing them. How do they deal with it when they get a bad match up? Do they just stay out of each other’s way? Try to take their opponents out quick? Make it one on one? Ran and Jackie have to be my favorite team up, solely for the fact that you’ve said Ran straight up throws him. Like?? Imagine coming to the King’s Pit, a well known, popular place, hoping to prove yourself, and then getting taking out by a flying midget, just tossed at you by a ridiculously tall endermen hybrid. How would you feel?? 

10: Ranbob is just really going through the ringer here. How many times does he just drop stuff, or trip over his feet? Does he ever get better, or does he still retain a clumsy streak? If so, how does Ran react to that? It’s very good he and Cletus bond! Are they just as close as the others, or is there still a bit of distance? How often does Ranbob forget to eat or drink, or really just take a break? How long does it take to get him to start remembering to do that stuff again? 

Does he ever slip up while with the gladiators? Also, in a room? Do the fisherman expand their house more, or do they just leave them in the house? Does Ranbob ever get his own house up? If so, does he use it at all, or is it more for storage? And how many times did he fall asleep out there, get injured, or not realize it was about to rain? How long did it take before Benjamin or Charles put their foot down and make him stay in for a bit?

Has Ranbob ever even dealt with rain before, or a storm above water? If not, how’d he react to it? 

11: Oh, boy, Ran. Your concerns are understandable, but definitely going to lead to some angst. Is he just on edge the whole time? How many times does he just glare at them, or straight up steal one of his haunting back a few feet away from Ranbob’s? Are the fishermen ever worried he might hurt them?

12: How do both hybrids deal with their groups bonding? I imagine Ranbob’s pretty happy with it, but how about Ran? As you said, he doesn’t seem to be the biggest fan of these guys. 

13: Roadtrip! Gotta love a roadtrip! What kind of places do they head? Any transportation, or is it just walking, enjoying nature? Do they go on an adventure to look for something cool? What’re they getting up to?

14: So Ran and Ranbob both act on their instincts in different ways. How do they feel about seeing how the other acts? What happens if any of the fishermen stray too far, or get separated from Ranbob? Same question to Ran. Ran just...like...picks up members of his haunting? Do people just see him walk around with them dangling in his arms? He must be pretty strong. How often does he do this? How else do their instincts lead to them acting? Cuddle piles, picking up blocks, keeping their groups close together, ect?

15: So Subbin’s pretty much a safe space for hybrids? Interesting. But since the groups are heading out, does this mean they run into some trouble outside of the city? And is there ever trouble within it? 

Other questions: Does Karl play any further part in this, or has he already played his role for good? Does the gang ever end up back at Mizu? Do any of the group have a pet or something similar? With there be any sort of connection to other Tales, even if only slightly, or will they be solely focused on these two? Does Ranbob pick up his studies of Ranboo as best he can once he’s free, or does he leave it all behind entirely?

the other one ive posted about is something me and ben (catgirlrepublic) have worked on together its not at all close to done or anything but it's. a fun little crossover. Between jdate and my fuckinuhm. Original characters story “Untitled Villains Project”. the sketches of the comic version ive started is actually my pinned post 👉👈 its like the first chunk of the story, i think half of part 1? yea.

Tldr john fucking Somehow is able t oget into contact with a certain curious scientist from another reality who’d just love to study the Soy Sauce, most certainly not for her own nefarious purposes

John and Dave meet up with the scientist, her name is Boss, and her lab assistant, Toxic, and after a bit of a preliminary Vibe Check where john determines her trustworthy (which Dave doesnt agree with,) the two agree to be taken to the world UVP is set in. from there they stay in Boss’s lab (big old fucking abandoned military lab). John and Toxic are fast friends due to mutual love-of-chaos. John n Dave get to fuckin, camp out on an air mattress.

The day after they arrive, the two get split up, not exactly intentionally; big plot points of UVP are liek. Fueled by Boss sending Toxic to go fetch her “research materials,” which are usually important artifacts

Fuckin side note i guess i have to explain my dumb bullshit: Boss’s, uh, field of expertise so to speak is actually fckin, basically the scientific study of magic and superpowers n shit like that. This shit’s all real in that world. Toxic’s got fuckin superpowers, so do 4 other main characters, whatever. It’s got a bit to do with spirituality, iss Boss’s hypothesis. So she has Toxic fetch important artifacts that might have “energies” to them. The thing is actually way more fuckin complictated than that, this is just Boss’s initial hypothesis.

Motherfucking anyways. So Boss gives Toxic a job to do, and John get excited about how Cool that sounds, and ends up going with Toxic, leaving Boss and Dave alone. Neither is thrilled about this. But Dave and Boss get to have a bit of conversation (while Toxic and John are off bonding and having a good time) and come to a… mutual grudging understanding of some kind. They still dont like each other though lmao

Theres gonna be deeper shit going on but we havent sorted it out yet/tbh havent like Written For It in a while but i still like thinking about it a lot lol

Also pretty sure our endgame is john and dave steal toxic and bring them back with em lmao boss is kind of not nice and toxic would most certainly be better off in Undisclosed. Actually theyd fucking love it. Theyd become a local cryptid im sure. Undisclosed’s mothman is a teleporting spike baby.

Quick briefing on my fuckinuh. Original character story, this one doesnt have a name (yet? Idk lol my work never actually goes anywhere sso who gives a shit). It centers around two grim reapers, Red (26, bi woman) and Blue (22, aroace agender asshole). In this reality or whatever, grim reapers function kind of like low-level office workers. They get told who’s going to die + when by some middle-management types, and upper management only involve themselves when punishment needs to be doled out. These Higher-Ups can be seen as analogous to Korrok; they’re decidedly not human, never were, and fucking terrifyingly powerful. Additionally, grim reapers are sort of .. designed to be “background noise” people. To the narrative: the shit starts when Red n Blue get relocated to Undisclosed. Relocation is something that just happens every now and then to reapers; they usually work in teams, but they get split up into different cities to avoid any strong bonds forming (a counter-union strategy from the Higher-Ups).

Red, Blue, John and Dave end up running into each other for the first time in a McDonalds where John n Dave are getting some 4am “hey, we just survived another horrific monster fight” celebration burgers. John and Dave are the only two people who can see how… strange Red and Blue are. Nobody else notices.

John unintentionally pisses Blue off, leading to Blue whacking him upside the head with a dildo bat. They all four get kicked out of McDonald’s. Dave and Red both are less than thrilled

Blue and John end up resolving their differences, somehow. Red and Dave briefly bond over their dumbass best friends being, well, dumbasses. They all part ways amicably.

somehow-or-other (idk yet) they end up running into each other a few more times, and eventually john invites them over to his place, and the four (plus Amy now!) get to know each other a little better

while there, Blue gets a text about some guy who's gonna die and John offers to drive them to where that's gonna go down. they take him up on the offer and get to have a bit of one-on-one conversation

after that ordeal though Blue has had Enough of people and bails, leaving John to head home alone

theres a sort of mirror-development going on with the five of em. Red, John, and Amy would all like everyone to get along, though theyre a bit tentative about it (John moreso than the other two, actually, jsut cause. well Red n Blue could still be Sauce Monsters). Dave and Blue on the other hand do Not like people enough for this shit, and Dave's not unconvinced theyre Sauce Monsters. he will not trust them until proven he should

the story's kinda nebulous but i got an idea for some Shit going down that involves both Sauce Monsters and also the Higher-Ups to have some fuckin absolute chaos go down.

Dave also is a loner but unlike John hes simply so fucking awkward and bad with people. He doesnt feel like he belongs anywhere so he just travels

He’s the stereotypical Lone Ranger tbh. He wanders from town to town, solving their problems, though hed deny its out of any moral obligation (it kinda is, a little bit, tbh. He does like feeling useful). He shows up, fixes things, leaves. He's kind of a legend but most people think he's hiding something dark. other people jsut know him as that guy who farted real loud in the middle of the saloon and promptly skipped town out of sheer embarrassment. you know how it goes with Dave

He ends up involved with the Soy Sauce when a snake (not Actually a snake,) bites him. The snake’s more like the wig-monsters, really. Anyway, it injects him with the soy sauce, he fucking trips balls in the middle of the desert, he can see monsters now

He runs into John and shit goes tits-up, as said, but they become traveling buddies after that. he'd never say so, but he's glad for the company, actually. it's nice. hes not used to companionship but he feels a strange kind of easiness hanging out with John....

Amy’s been living in a town John and Dave end up passing through and she is very curious about these two new Handsome Strangers who claim to fight monsters and just kinda. Persistently tags along til they let her join for real

If you are, can you do it for a boy? I’m generally considered tall (I’m 5’7”) and I have really curly brown hair with green eyes and really pale skin. I’m Irish-American and I’m an Aries. My hobbies are; photography, reading thriller or historical fiction novels, writing fanfiction, and listening to music (specifically punk rock or really obnoxiously loud Irish rock). I can be pessimistic at times, but I care about the people I’m really close with and I’ll defend them no matter the situation. I can be annoying, I overthink everything, and I am insecure about literally anything and everything about myself (from my body to my writing)

I’m generally considered one of the smarter ones in my friend group, usually my friends come to me when it comes to writing essays or having to read a book for class, since I’m good at analyzing things. I’m the friend that usually everyone tries to protect from things, from fear that I might “break” or something like that, which can be annoying but I know it means that they care. Though I would prefer that people be straight forward and honest with me instead of walk on eggshells or keep secrets, because contrary to popular belief, I can defend myself just fine. On your series “All Stories Have Monsters”, you have an interesting, unique take on Joe and Nicky and their dynamic, with you exploring a Nicky free to stray and do as he whishes and a Joe who conveniently only has eyes for Nicky. And it hurts my heart to imagine Joe in such a seemingly unbalanced, unequal relationship. In this ‘verse Joe comes across as this almost otherworldly man, locked in the role of the perfect partner, endlessly selfless, willing to share Nicky with anyone Nicky may desire / love while Joe remains faithfully devoted, his world revolving around Nicky (and Nicky only), “incapable” (???) of falling in love with anyone else, not having other lovers to turn to like Nicky does. It’s such an advantageous / favorable situation for Nicky, with Joe making all the concessions without clear reciprocity and only Nicky reaping the benefits / rewards of their open arrangement, besides never having to guess at Joe’s loyalty, never having to share whatever there is of Joe’s affection / desire / thoughts and feelings, never having to face any man / woman who would challenge him for Joe’s love.

Ok, so, I understand where you’re coming from, and part of this critique is completely valid. You’re right to call out that I’ve centered Nicky a lot in that series, at the expense of exploring Joe’s perspective. That’s something I’ve been thinking about, recently, and something I will try to do better about in my fic in general.

As for the rest of this... I think you meant this comment as a good-faith expression of your thoughts about this series, and I appreciate that. I’m going to try and respond as clearly and as kindly as I can, so please don’t think I’m attacking you or calling you ignorant or anything like that.

The conclusions you’ve come to are based on a lot of assumptions about what healthy relationships look like, and those assumptions are almost completely wrong. Now, I don’t know anything about you or your life, so I’m not going to make any guesses about your experience with relationships or polyamory, but, if you grew up in generally the same culture I did, I know that you’ve been fed a lot of ideas about compulsory monogamy and How Relationships Work, and internalised those ideas as fact. As someone who is in a loving, committed, open marriage, I can tell you most of those ideas are, at best, bullshit.

The thing is, people experience romantic and sexual attraction in different ways. You’re on Tumblr and you follow me, so I’m going to assume that’s not a new concept for you. In practice, what this means is that people who are in a relationship also experience love and desire diferently. Even if you have two people who are monogamous, allosexual, and alloromantic, their individual needs and appetites are going to be different by virtue of the fact that they are different people. This doesn’t mean one of them loves the other more or one of them enjoys sex more; it just means that some of the things they need and want in a relationship are going to be different, because that’s how people work.

The other thing that I really want to emphasize is that relationships don’t come with scoreboards, and keeping score in a relationship isn’t helpful or healthy. That doesn’t mean there doesn’t need to be balance and equity, but the sort of one-for-one reciprocity you’re talking about isn’t balance. For instance, I’ve been sick for the past few days, and my wife has been taking care of me. Does that mean that she gets to take time off from her responsibilities to let me take care of her so we’re even? Of course not. We take care of each other when we’re sick because we made a commitment to do exactly that. For added fun, my wife and I have different health problems and different temperaments, so we tend to get sick in different ways and need different things. Which means that me taking care of her looks different than her taking care of me. Does that mean our relationship is unbalanced? Nope. It means we’re different people with different needs, and part of being married means meeting each other’s needs.

So you’re probably sitting there thinking that being sick and having sex are two totally different things. Except that... they’re not, not really. Sex is one possible aspect of a relationship, just like dealing with illness, doing the dishes, going out, sharing finances, et cetera, ad nauseum. Sex isn’t a special, magic thing that has it’s own set of rules; it’s a thing people do together, sometimes there are emotions involved, sometimes not. The real point, here, is that different people have different needs and wants when it comes to sex, just like everything else, and every sexual relationship is unique, just like every friendship or romantic relationship is unique.

So what does that mean for an open relationship? Among other things, it means that one person sleeping with someone else doesn’t mean their partner needs to sleep with someone else to make things even. It means that how a person feels about having sex with their partner is not necessarily how they feel about having sex with people who aren’t their partner. It means that reciprocity and keeping score are just as bullshit when it comes to sex as they are in other parts of a relationship.

Now, let’s talk about Joe and Nicky and polyamory in All Stories Have Monsters.

Again, you’re right: I haven’t given as much time to Joe as a character as he deserves, and I’m working on that. But if you’ve read all 89,000 words of that series, to date, and you came away with the impression that Nicky doesn’t absolutely and utterly adore Joe with his entire being, then I need to re-assess my abilities as a writer. 

The subtext of The House in Sicily is that Nicky built a mansion out of love for Joe. The final punch of Joe’s speech in New Orleans, 1868 is “that he is just as devoted to me as I to him, that my comfort and pleasure are of greater importance to him than his own”. You sent me this ask right after I posted a story all about Nicky carefully and tenderly fucking Joe to a spectacular orgasm. Then there’s all the little moments of care and comfort, the casual touches, the easy companionship. I don’t really know what else you want with regard to expressions of love and devotion.

You refered to Joe making concession and Nicky reaping all the benefits, but it’s stated more than once that Joe enoys the fact that Nicky sometimes sleeps with other people, and even gets off on it. Likewise, Nicky makes it clear, both that he wouldn’t do it if Joe didn’t want him to, and that any other partners are a distant second to Joe. In Goddess of Victory, he tells Booker,  “Another man may touch me for a moment, but it is only a moment. I will never belong to anyone but Joe” and  “If he did not like it, I would not do it, but he does like it, so I do what I want”.

Ok, you’re probably thinking, but why does Nicky get to fuck around and Joe doesn’t? The simple answer is that Nicky wants to and Joe doesn’t, not because one of them is more faithful than the other, but because they are different people who experience attraction differently. 

It’s first implied and then plainly stated that Joe in this series is demisexual, which doesn’t AT ALL mean that he’s not capable of falling in love with or being attracted to anyone other than Nicky; it just means, in this case, that he needs to have a strong romantic connection with someone before he might want a sexual relationship. You can imagine a lot of reasons that might be tricky to navigate with the complexities of immortal life, and since he already has a passionate, satisfying relationship with the love of his life, there’s not much reason for him to look for anyone else.

Then there’s Nicky, who pursued sexual relationships with other men despite believing it was a sin, and who, like Joe, had never been in love before. For Joe, romantic love and sex are necessarily linked, but for Nicky they’re not. Sex is something Nicky enjoys doing; he definitely PREFERS doing it with Joe, but that doesnt mean it’s not fun with other people. Add to this the fact that Nicky having sex with someone else turns Joe on, and Nicky has at least one very compelling reason to seek out casual partners and few complications in doing so.

The thing with Booker... Honestly, that’s another entire novel of analysis, so I’m not going to get into it here.

The point is: having a committed, balanced relationship doesn’t mean having all the same needs and desires as your partner. It means, among other things, recognizing that you and your partner(s) have different needs and desires and making sure that everyone is fulfilled and satisfied as individuals. In a case where there is a primary couple with an open arrangement, it also means trusting that you and your partner are each other’s top priority when it comes to love and sex. Joe and Nicky have different sexualities, but they’re absolutely, unequivocally devoted to each other. Whether or not they have sex with other people doesn’t change that.

Does that make sense? I hope that makes sense.
