im so obsessed with climbing class (and until dawn all together) you have no idea, until dawn is my whole personality since i was eleven (nine years ago!!) and so is climbing class, i dont know how to exist without them and im not even kidding

i exchanged my fifteen year old bday party for a ps4 only bc of until dawn (yea yea kinda a "white girl problem" ik), the first game i bought was until dawn, every brazilian gameplay on yt ive watched it, ive played more than 10 times (kinda lost count), i have hannah's butterfly tattoed on my shoulder too and i plan to have more, i quote until dawn lines all the time (to the point my friends know the lines too)

i know im rambling but i dont think anyone understands how >much< until dawn is my entire life, like not even my closest friends understand my obsession and theyre neurodivergent too

got inspired to revisit my old concept of SG!Drillburst! rough backstory under cut

Shattered Glass Drillburst was a popular electro-funk artist by day and mercenary by night. While he was branded an Autobot and his music was admired by some of their most notorious, his sympathies lied with the Decepticons. He would eventually begin to make songs with secret messages within them for them to decode, full of Autobot secrets he learned in his mercenary business. Unfortunately, his cover would be blown when his incriminating messages were uncovered by the Autobot Blaster, and Drill was arrested and sent to Garrus 9 as a traitor. There he was subjected to brutal punishment by the sadistic warden, Fortress Maximus, who had been an avid fan of his music. Cruelly though, this admiration of Drillburst wouldn’t necessarily translate to leniency, but rather more attention on him. Drillburst would be freed when Garrus 9 was attacked in a liberation campaign by Skyquake, then Overlord in his place; and after months of brutal fighting that destroyed most of the prison, the massive Decepticon found him among the rubble and rescued him. Drillburst had been one of the only surviving prisoners in the attack.

Whatever Maximus put him through in Garrus 9 has deeply scarred Drillburst, but he's tried to move past it. While he continues to write and produce music, he has personally sold them himself as his record label had dropped him. He also keeps small for his own safety, in case the Autobots have put a bounty on his head. He lives aboard his own ship, traveling across Decepticon friendly zones on Cybertron and in the stars beyond, living a simple life in hopes that one day, his notoriety among the Autobots who once listened to his music will eventually be forgotten. He still continues his mercenary work on certain days, and performs for other Decepticons and neutrals during his travels. He hopes that someday he can return to the stardom he once had, beloved once again by both sides of the war--but how wishful are those thoughts?

So ya know how there's that little game where the Pokemon with the same Pokedex number as your birthday (month and date) is your like, assigned Pokemon? Well my birthday is 4/21, and Pokemon number 421 is Cherubi's evolution, Cherrim! So MY assigned Pokemon's pre-evolution is a Pokemon whose name is a COMBINATION of my two preferred names, Cherry and Ruby??? IS THAT NOT KIND OF INSANE 😳

So my dead boy detectives obsession has accidentally revealed how bad my audio processing can get. I've been in the I need more songs for my playlist NOW mood lately so I've been wracking my brain for songs that could fit the characters. And I was like Oh! I know just the conan gray song, the lyric 'don't get yourself down at the end of your life' fits Charles’ death so well! And then it talks all about fated love! Ahh I must add it!"

Except I went to the album. And not only is the lyric actually NOT don't get yourself down at the end of your life, which would be one thing. I mean like in hindsight that actually doesn't makes sense why would that be in the song that my brain has been thinking this whole time but I digress. But it's also NOT talking about fated love. The song is literally called Fainted Love and somehow... That never clicked for me?? Like I usually listen to the whole album and never bothered to click on the lyrics (which apparently I desperately need because of my auditory processing disorder) but how, Morgan's brain, did the title literally not matching what I was hearing not ring any bells for me?? I genuinely don't know. And like it's not like I was just passively listening to the song it's one of my favorites on the album.

And since I was misinterpreting the entirety of the song this entire time I like can't reverse it. The song isn't soulmate coded like I was somehow convinced of even remotely but I relistened to it with my new awareness of the actual lyrics and my brain still isn't reacting to it in the semi sad meaning it has in actuality way. My brain still has soulmate heart emojis up in it while listening. Still. I can't with my brain

Sometimes I think about how in the 2020s, when choosing possible voices for my characters, I chose the absolute mischaracter voice for Mamoru, but it's so bad that it's very good, and I keep this idea.
