okay...
I loved this season. I decided to watch it with part 1 fully and I got the direction and flow they were going for.
I agree with most when I say that I would have liked more polin, and I think especially the Mondrich plot was very dull and uninteresting and I don't like how much time was wasted on it.
I did think it was a bit crowded.
But I still loved how each plotline was handled (except for Cressida, because I still wanted to at least know what happened to her other than assuming she's leaving.)
I loved the flow of the season and part 2 was a great helping of angst that I enjoyed to see from polin, despite all of the people saying otherwise.
I do mourn the polin sex montage and I do think the cuts to Benedict were a bit tone-deaf. I personally didn't need as many sex scenes as you other people, though. I think the amount of tension and angst was just right for the story and the amount of sex scenes reflected that.
But I would have enjoyed at least a longer make-up sex scene.
The structure of the story felt right and the only thing that made me a bit iffy was Colin reading the letters because I would have appreciated something like a series of flashbacks to the previous seasons and finally the memory of their meet-cute with some child actors.
But Colin's jealousy arc?
Completely makes sense.
We love canon bisexual Benedict and Francesca.
We love Michaela Stirling.
We love Portia's (kind of?) redemption arc.
We love the Lady Danbury, Marcus, and Violet thing going on, even though it felt a bit excessive.
We love Penelope and Colin dancing to You Belong With Me and their Pride and Prejudice moment.
We adore the mirror scene.
We love Kanthony being cute and their fun moments.
We love the polin wedding.
We love Colin crying (even though that sounds weird.)
We love the epilogue and polin winning the baby race.
We love Colin writing a book and Penelope going by Penelope Bridgerton.
We love Penelope revealing herself as LW and owning it.
We love Queen Charlotte.
We love the nod to Penelope and Lady Danbury's book relationship.
We love Colin's last episode confession and they made me cry multiple times.
We love Hyacinth for being a sunshine child in her support for polin.
And despite Eloise kind of annoying me constantly, we love how Penelope and Eloise made up.
AND I'M SAD JULIE ANDREWS IS MOST LIKELY NOT COMING BACK 😭😭😭😭
People are shitting on this season WAAYYYY too much from what I've seen, and I think it's in part because people, again, overhype things. I was expecting a good season and some great moments, but I think the general vibe was that people were somehow going to see perfection and that's just the wrong mindset to have.
Was is mind-blowing? No.
Was I wanting more polin? Yes.
Was I hating it? No.
Was it a hell of a ride? Yes.
9.3/10
Would and will watch again multiple times.
Like, calm down guys.

I am absolutely fascinated by some of the Bridgerton S3 discourse I've stumbled upon that seems to funnel into one of two arguments.
'Penelope should've married Debling because she'd be rich, left alone, and able to do exactly what she wanted because he'd be gone/dead and that's a win for her because that's what all of us really want!'
'Penelope should've never forgiven Colin for saying he'd never court her because it was cruel and indicative of what he really thought and she deserves better because in real life this happens all the time, especially to fat girls, and he's the worst!'
My friends. My dudes. Y'all.
Are you lost? Did you take a wrong turn in the library and are unsure of how you arrived in the Romance section? Because Bridgerton is not contemporary fiction. It's not even Historical Fiction. It's ROMANCE. Which has its own genre rules and traditions and I can only imagine these bad faith complaints are from someone who thinks everything has to 'defy the genre!' as if the term romance is a dirty word.
If this were contemporary fiction, sure. The HBO limited series of this where Nicole Kidman plays a brooding Portia would have Penelope learning the lesson that she's wrong to wish for a man to complete her and take her doomed husband Debling's money to girlboss her way into a gossip empire while impressing her success on Colin who realizing too late what he let get away. I've read many stories like that, loved a bunch of them. She'd move to NYC and end it overlooking her empire from her glass penthouse. Amazing.
But this is not contemporary fiction.
This is ROMANCE.
And one of the requirements of Romance is the Happily Ever After. Penelope, as our heroine in a Romance story, will get the Happily Ever After that she states she wants. And that is to have a marriage based in love and to have that love be a partner that supports her dreams. Rules of the genre guarantees that that's where we are going to end up. That's not Debling - who offers her support and freedom, but not love. Pen wants love. So she will hold out for love, and will get it.
The other nonsense with Colin who should be punished for saying one cruel thing... The other BIG ASS FANTASY EXPECTATION OF ROMANCE FICTION is that the hero will fuck up and disappoint the heroine and, here's where the romantic fantasy comes in, will recognize his mistake, sincerely apologize to the heroine, and then change his actions. Which he did. Immediately. As soon as he realized his bravado hurt Pen, he parkoured his way through everything standing in his way to apologize and beg her forgiveness.
THAT is the crux on which Romance hinges. In real life, he will make excuses and will insist he did nothing wrong. In Romance, the heroine was correct to hold out for what she wanted. In Romance, the hero recognizes his error and apologizes and changes for her. In Romance, he releases the pretenses he's been holding up because she was right to believe in him and he desires to be the man she wants and deserves. That's the fantasy this genre promises. THAT'S the Happily Ever After. He explicitly says 'you were right' and she gets what she wants.
'That's not how it happens in real life!' is the entire fucking point. Insisting that the heroine should settle or that the heroine should not receive a sincere apology which leads to her getting everything she's dreamed up is just being deliberately genre ignorant.

So I’ve seen a few posts and felt the need to respond because what. The. Fuck. Why is it to defend Colin you need to tear down Penelope?
There is obvs a lot of discourse going around about the ‘entrapment’ comment and honestly I don’t have an issue with it. He is hurt and lashing out. Someone else posted that when you are best friends you know exactly how to hit eachother where it hurts and that’s what they both did Penelope with her Colin LW takedown and him with this comment. That doesn’t mean they don’t love one another if anything the opposite.
However some people in their defence of Colin have been acting like their first time together was a planned entrapment to get pregnant by Penelope because she knew if she didn’t he would have left her?! I’m sorry what?! Did we watch the same show? Like Penelope isn’t an evil mastermind she is a 19 year old girl who had to develop an alter ego to feel seen by those closest to her and who just found out the love of her life feels the same after saying ew no thanks the season before. Then fulfills her wildest hero fantasy’s saving her from portia and shows her “pleasure she never thought possible”. Not to mention the overwhelming fear she feels of loosing the only person she has left she feels close too. So was she wrong not to tell him right away. Yes obviously. But 1. The writers obvs weren’t going to do that for the sake of drama. 2. She didn’t plan to get banged and knocked up on a couch she didn’t even know how it bloody worked and was swept away with her overwhelming feelings same as him. Seeing as they BOTH KNOW you should not be banging before ya wedding in 1815.
She try’s to give up her true passion in life of writing to spare him the hurt(misguided but his own sister told her to do the same!) then is constantly apologising from the minute he finds out, doesn’t ever downplay his feelings and when she sees the impact her secret has on her new family she puts her head on the chopping block of the queen AND THEN OFFERS HIM AN OUT WITH THE ANULLMENT and the risk of being ruined and pregnant alone(not convinced she knew before the butterfly ball) What more do you want?
In the same way Colin takes time understands his feelings and learns to accept every side of pen and support her not save her. And makes a beautiful and honest confession of love admitting his envy and understanding Pens love for him is as unconditional for him as his is for her.
Which is whyyyy it was so important that the LW secret came out because it knocked both of them off each others pedestals and to see the not perfect lovey dovey side of eachother so that they can build back up to form a very real kind of relationship.
The idea that one of them is the villain is ridiculous and something I see so much online. It’s a hero/villian blame game. Instead of 2 young people who love eachother more than anything else but make mistakes along the way. Ultimately they know their love is worth fighting for. And that’s all that matters.
I’ve 100% come around on part 2 now and can understand it a lot better. I would still love those extra scenes of reconciliation which I feel would have balanced the angst better however we can live in hope series 4 will have that in spades. Same as the adorable kathony scenes(would have loved more of these tbh but Johnny schedule is packed, love this man being booked and busssy)!

Unmasked - Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2 Trailer
In the first four episodes, over 2.3 billion minutes were viewed.  The highest debut weekend in history for any Netflix show, the historical drama was filled with romance, action, and comedic endeavors. The first part focuses on the romantic story of Colin and Penelope, while the second part will explore the mystery and unmasking of all the personas introduced in the first part.  To say we are ravenous for the final episodes is an understatement.
"What is concealed, shall be revealed"
Tumblr media
A New Betrothal
Everyone in the Bridgerton family is excited about Colin and Penelope's upcoming wedding, except for one member. Let's be honest, Violet had already practically picked out the stationery. In like manner, during season 2 when Anthony calls on the Bridgerton family to help him "woo" Edwina, Penelope is in the drawing room. Undoubtedly, she is like another sister, and the brothers joking that Anthony may need to fight a duel for her speaks to her connection to the family.
Tumblr media
The fact that the Featheringtons found out about the betrothal through Lady Whistledown speaks volumes. Albion Finch, always the supportive brother-in-law, clearly deserves the Brother-in-law of the Year award. I must admit, I enjoyed seeing the sisters' surprise and his smile. On the contrary, Portia didn't seem pleased. Undoubtedly, a lot was going on after the, ahem, carriage. Finding out that your youngest is marrying the best out of the three, and you didn't know about it, is likely to cause conflict.  Portia also appears unhappy after two seasons of trying to finally get her connection with the Bridgerton family -- and she isn't happy about it.  On the bright side, this means she's the next Catherine the Great, right?
Tumblr media
The Reward
 "Whistledown is power."
As Penelope is finally making progress towards marital bliss, the issue of the Queen and Lady Whistledown remains unresolved. Over the past three seasons, the Queen has been trying to find Lady Whistledown but has been unsuccessful. She has even offered a reward of five thousand pounds to anyone who can uncover Lady Whistledown's identity. The clock shown multiple times in the new clip suggests that time may be running out. The question remains: what will the Queen do with the information once she finds Lady Whistledown?
Tumblr media
Last season, when Eloise was discovered by the Queen and pulled into the carriage, we got an idea of just what she might do with the power that Whistledown may bring. Whistledown, with influence, was able to bring down Nigel Burbrook in Season 1. She has released some pretty risky stuff. If that power was in the wrong hands, it could be troublesome.  On the other hand, just the knowledge of who the penned author is, the Queen may respect Penelope. Only time will tell, and that is 9 days to be exact.
What are you looking forward to most in Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2?

Actually, I wonder, how much does Portia know that Penelope and Colin are constantly alone together?
She knows that they write to each other, and it is weird that she didn't use that as a way to marry a daughter off to a Bridgerton. Portia is an opportunist. So something about that situation didn't sit right with her and she decided to correct the situation in her own way.
Basically she's going "Penelope is going to have a proper courtship."
That's actually a good question because you're right, Portia is an oppturnist. She had no issues setting up Jack getting caught with Prudence, she also used Jack's trust in her to pull the estate out from underneath him.
My guess is that it comes down to two, maybe three things. The first and probably being the biggest reason is that, yes, Portia is an oppturnist, but she's also not dumb. The Bridgertons are a powerful family who always come out on top of any scandal, and she's tried to trap a Bridgerton before, specifically Colin just last year. It's not a good look for her to pick up a fuss with the Bridgertons and cause whispers of scandals. The Bridgertons always bounce back, but she can't say the same grace will be given for her daughter. Even if she was to quietly approach Anthony or Violet, there was no way to make sure rumors wouldn't start. She had the pregnancy on lockdown last year, and in her pov, it still somehow leaked for Whistledown to hear. Not to mention, if she approached this quietly, there was a possibility that the much more powerful family would make it disappear. Would the Bridgertons do that? Most likely not. Anthony would probably wring Colin's neck if Portia brought it to his attention, but she has to think of all possible scenarios and consequences.
The other possible reason is that Portia might know about Penelope's feelings towards Colin even if she refused to say them outloud. Then I imagine the realist part of Portia is coming through that wants Penelope to see things as she does. She's watched them over the years, and at that point, Colin doesn't return Penelope's feelings, or if he does, he's not aware of them or still won't court Penelope for some reason. She loves her daughter and doesn't want to purposely hurt her or to be cruel to just be cruel. I can see her refusing to purposely set up her own daughter's heartbreak. Or she subscribes to the idea that of Penelope won't listen to her she has to learn the lesson on her own.
Third reason is she was probably too distracted by the coming arrival of the new Lord Featherington. He's the new lord, and she has to get on his good side, so he'll support her and her daughters until she can get them secured. Especially since Archibald left them with nothing.
But yeah those are my thoughts. I might he wrong and maybe the new season will show us why Portia never pushed the issue.

happy wincest wednesday! random question: do you think salmondean have any weird phobias that they didn't mention on the show? -lizzy
Happy Wincest Wednesday!! ♡
First, thanks for the ask! Second, this is a really good question, and it got me thinking. So I'm just gonna ramble a bit about why I think they have each phobia I list under the cut. Also, they're not that weird of phobias, I don't think, so I hope that's okay! ^^
---
Dean:
• Cynophobia: Fear of Dogs.
After being brutally mauled by hellhounds, I would be scared too :( However, in typical Dean fashion, he represses it, and it comes off as just an aversion to dogs. (Ex. Running from that small dog in Yellow Fever, being upset at Sam for having a dog in his car in s8, Portia from Man's Best Friend with Benefits clocking that Dean dislikes dogs.) I think it isn't until Dog Dean Afternoon where he can understand them and act like them, does he come to face his fear and even come to like dogs. Hence why he was sweet with Miracle in s15.
• Pyrophobia: Fear of Fire.
I think this one was temporary, as well, and definitely when he was little. I feel like watching your house go up in flames and having your mom die when you're four will do that to you. As I said, this one is definitely temporary as Dean had to "grow out of it" when he started hunting with John, and they needed to salt & burn bones and things of that nature.
• Taphophobia: Fear of Being Burried Alive.
I don't have much canon support on this one, but I think waking up burried in s4 could've fucked him up a bit. Not to mention in s14 with the Ma'lak Box, he has nightmares about trapping himself in it with Michael. I feel like anyone would be freaked out over this, but I don't know, it just feels right. Dean likes being in control and he usually fears things where he feels trapped and vulnerable (like planes) so I think it's possible.
• Homophobia (Kidding lmao.)
Wait, actually...
• Internalized Homophobia.
I don't have to explain this one. You understand, yes?
Sam:
• Eisoptrophobia: Fear of Mirrors.
Sam is a very guilty character, as we all know, and I think that could seriously skew how he sees himself to the point that he avoids looking at himself whenever he can. I think it gets worse after he gets his soul back, and he has identity issues with all his soulless counterpart did. Plus, all the times he's been possessed. Sometimes, he looks and sees Lucifer, sometimes Gadreel (maybe even Meg in earlier seasons. She could've started his aversion). Regardless, it's just easier for him not to look at himself.
• Phonophobia: Fear of Loud Sounds.
Late seasons Sammy flinches™ :((
In canon, he has visible reactions to Dean getting loud and angry, and I also think it could apply to other loud sounds as well. With all he's been through, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a symptom of his ptsd. (Also, I headcanon that he enjoys spending time with Eileen because it's always quiet. They can sit in silence and sign to each other, and it's calming.)
• Decidophobia: Fear of Making Decisions.
Wait, hear me out. Nearly every time Sam makes a big decision in his life, it backfires on him. It's always the "wrong choice" no matter how much good he tries to achieve. I, of course, don't blame him for this, but basically, everyone in his life does. With that in mind, I think Sam would struggle to make big choices. The fight being zapped from him in the later seasons? Submitting to Dean? It's easier. In his mind he can't "fuck anything up" if he just does what he's told... and even then, it's never good enough :(
Sam & Dean:
• Eremophobia: Fear of Being Alone/Abandoned.
This one also doesn't need explaining. These codependent boys need each other like oxygen. Canon support: the entire show.
• Somniphobia: Fear of Sleeping.
This is a long one y'all...
I headcanon that they both are anxious to go to sleep because [insert trauma here], but they never realized it because they'd always slept either with each other (when little) or next to each other (in motels). But after having separate rooms in the bunker, it called it to attention. I feel like they started (literal) sleeping together after the newness & excitement of having their own rooms wore off.
People can have this fear for different reasons, and I listed nightmares, but I also think Sam would have sleep paralysis and sometimes see Lucifer, which isn't fun. Fear of dying in your sleep can also be a symptom, but I'm spinning this one to the fear of each other dying. If the brothers are (literal) sleeping together, they can check the other's pulse from time to time, feel their breathing, and know that the other is okay. Also, another symptom can be things happening to them in their sleep (website said like burglary, fire, disasters, etc), I think it's fitting too, but it'd be more like monsters and demons for them.
Canon support for this is kinda low, but there is some, in my opinion. In motels, sleeping on the edge of their beds near each other. After hell trauma, sleeping fully clothed on top of the covers, never settling. Guns and knives hidden under beds, mattresses, and pillows. (People have also pointed out seeing one brother's stuff in the other brother's room, so this fuels my delusion that they share rooms in the bunker sometimes.)
---
Anyways, that's all I have for right now. I'm sure I could find more if I kept researching (because this is so interesting and I'm going down a rabbit hole of fears), but this post is already kinda long... Thanks again for the ask, and I hope this is what you were looking for! ^^

S3E3 (spoilers abound)
I knew that was a dream, it was too romantic. But good, Colin needs a wet dream or two about Pen. It's sad that it takes this to get him to realize he's attracted to her but hey, whatever works.
So Gregory didn't break his arm from being in the balloon like everybody guessed, interesting. Still chaotic, but not in the same way.
Colin, please, promise me you'll never play poker -- you couldn't bluff convincingly if your life depended on it. I'm glad Hyacinth is supportive of Pen, even if Eloise isn't.
"Must be rich, must be handsome, and he must be of high rank." John Stirling is an earl, one of the upper ranks of the nobility. Just saying...
Philippa really is dim. Let's hope that in her and Prudence's case, intelligence skipped a generation and any kids they have inherit Portia's brain. She's not perfect but she's leagues smarter than those two.
Mrs. Varley says Pen has a visitor and I assume it's Colin or Debling. It's El and my response? An out loud "What the fuck?"
Oh, El. She's maturing (slowly) but she's not ready for them to be friends again yet. Maybe by the end of E4? And can I just say that I LOVE that blue dress Eloise has on? She looks lovely AND SHE HAS HER FLOWERS BACK! So, the show's costume designer was holding back her flowers until she became more herself, got it.
Pen in a park and everyone's talking about her. Ugh. Honey, none of them are worthy of you. Take note of who's talking down about you now and when you're on top, see which of them kisses your ass. They're the ones to avoid like the plague.
God, I love weeping willows, they're like natural gazebos. And this one is HUGE.
Sorry, Pen, but the tulle in your hair looks stupid. It looks too much like you accidently left a curling rag in.
So now they're both nervous, so cute. Colin's world has been rocked to its foundations and he needs to find his footing all over again.
So, Debling is a vegetarian and a naturalist. He seems to prefer animals to people. Considering the ton, I can't say I blame him. Lady Cowper is threating to arrange a marriage for Cressida if she doesn't get married this season. No unconditional love there, that's for sure. Cressida, get yourself a husband whose estate is far from your father's and tell your parents the roads are bad, so they can never visit. That should keep contact with them restricted to letters and the Season.
I really hope this earl who just introduced himself to Francesca isn't John.
God, I love Alice. She's a sweeter person than the ton deserves. She's right about Colin being gallant, too bad he's only just starting to realize how badly he messed up.
Debling uses odd animal metaphors and his humor is a little whack but I like the guy. As long as he's honest about why he wants a wife, I'll support him. He's cute too. Beards were unfashionable during this era, so it's another sign that he doesn't care about what other people think.
Aww, Cressida. Yeah, your family doesn't support you at all. I'd ship her with Debling if they weren't so obviously wrong for each other. She does need a good man to marry her but I don't think she'll find him this season.
Oh, Colin, you are so far gone for Pen. Do something about soon, please, before you lose her forever.
I do not like Eloise's outfit. It looks like a modern business suit with an extra-long skirt.
I take it back, I think I do ship Debling and Cressida, but if what he's after is just someone to watch his estate while he's gone, I think she can do better. Still, isolation might be what she wants, who knows?
Eloise is third- and fourth-wheeling. I'd feel sorry for her but hell, she deserves this.
I just had to look it up -- yeah, "marriage whisperer" is a phrase that could have been used back then since "horse whisperer" was a phrase that was already in use. Still, it sounds too modern.
So, Lord Samadani's a marquess, not an earl. Is his first name John? Does he have a first cousin named Michael?
Debling, you're the one who insisted on this three-way conversation, figure out how to end it politely. Colin is so jealous. Do something about it.
Prudence's husband really is dim. She married him for his looks, didn't she?
Rescues all around. Debling's going to have to make his decision soon, this is getting ridiculous.
Another ball. A handsome man gives Violet her accidentally dropped glove. I assume this is the "unwanted" visitor Agatha was complaining about. Blood relative? Widowed in-law? He's the right age bracket for Violet, so that's good.
Cressida looks ridiculous and miserable. I have to wonder whose idea these gowns are -- hers? Her mother's? The modiste's? Whoever, they have no idea what they are doing. This one looks more like modern haute couture, and ugly haute couture at that.
Pen and Cressida in a literal race to Debling, good lord.
Okay, so Samadani is apparently not John. Good, he doesn't understand what Francesca's after.
BROTHER?! Interesting. He's hot. I love his voice and his thoughts on having grown children. Wow, if this is Violet's "gardener," she'll be fucking the brother of the woman who fucked her father. England really is a small country.
Who took a bunch of spoon handles and put them in Agatha's hair?
Agatha is in her own personal hell, I love it.
Is THIS John? He's not Scottish, going by what little he's said. Disappointing, but not the end of the world. Loves the quiet, understands that people need quiet, he's perfect for Frannie.
Shonda, Shonda, Shonda. Yes, a Lady can be a married woman HOWEVER, the daughters of dukes, marquesses, and earls are also addressed as Lady, so Benedict assuming Tilley is married is wrong.
This dance Tilley and Benedict are dancing looks like a cross between a waltz and a tango. I'm sure the choreographer was told to just give them whatever moves look best on camera.
Cressida really looks like she's going to cry. Ugh. I don't want her to suffer her book counterpart's fate.
Colin looks like he's about to kiss Pen in the middle of a crowded ballroom then in comes Debling to steal her away for a dance. Colin, please, move faster next time.

I think Tasya is a very overlooked character which I think is unfortunate. I wonder how her relationship with Portia and Julian develops during her post-route redemption, and how well she gets along with Mazelinka and other characters like Nadia and Lucio after the evens in Portias route. Would they become closer, make up for lost time, or would they keep a distance? This isn't a request or anything, I've just been wondering about that
I really love your writing btw, I always look forward to reading it :)
@darkwastelandlady I know you didn't ask for it, but here's my little Tasya ramble ^.^
It's been a while since I replayed Portia's route, but from what I remember of the ending, Tasya seems well situated to grow and learn from her mistakes with the support system necessary to keep her accountable.
The upright ending picks up with Portia and MC heading off on the maiden emissary voyage to start growing Vesuvia's international connections (with Natiqa accompanying them) and with Tasya leaving Vesuvia with some of her merchant fleet. Tasya has spent the last few months using her resources to fund Vesuvia's restoration, and now she's heading out to other nearby areas affected by her storm. She's not holding back in her desire to rebuilt what she's destroyed, but she still retains her ambition and drive as a powerful business woman.
To keep her in check, Mazelinka's returning to her pirate ship to accompany them, with Julian and Nazali on board. Julian and Nazali seem to be the implied background romance for Portia's route (she even has a conversation with Nazali before leaving, asking them to take care of her brother for her). Mazelinka also has a brief conversation with MC and Portia, stating a desire to help Tasya turn over a new leaf, righting her wrongs and growing into a better person. It doesn't necessarily imply a budding romance between Mazelinka and Tasya, but it does leave room for that possibility!
All that said, given the nature of upright endings being all about growing into a better person and helping community flourish, I do think Tasya would eventually be able to find some kind of peace. Portia consistently expresses a desire to hold onto her relationship with her aunt, and given how Julian and Mazelinka are volunteering to be her support system, the chances of their bond becoming stronger than ever are pretty high. It's not clearly implied whether Tasya becomes a permanent member of the family Julian and Portia are piecing together around them, but given how eager she is to become worthy of their trust and how strongly she values familial bonds in general, it wouldn't be crazy to assume she does :)
Cheers friend, hope that helps!

I don't think Cressida ever hated Penelope. I believe that she was jealous of her. Cressida and Penelope are essentially the same characters but the only difference is that Penelope had the Bridgertons who loved and adored her. Cressida had no one. She thought she had Eloise but Eloise ended up abandoning her weeks into their newfound friendship and became Penelope's BFF again. Cressida was hurt. She had grown up being belittled by her father and her mother would just stand by and do nothing. Sound familiar? So she blackmailed Penelope because she didn't have any other options left and while that was wrong her actions were understandable. Penelope created LW because she had felt lonely and invisible for years. Creating LW wasn't wrong but how she used her voice was. She mocked the King and even the Bridgertons at times. Calling Anthony a rake even though he was? Mocking Daphne a bit during her first season? Outing Eloise and even her comments towards Colin at the beginning of season three? That was wrong even though she had good intentions for Eloise and Colin.
Cressida was jealous of Penelope because she still found love and acceptance even though she had also grown up being belittled. And at the end of the season why Penelope gained everything Cressida lost everything. The two were foils to each other.
Hi, anon. I agree about Cressida being jealous about Penelope.
But ai don't agree that Cressidand her are the same character. Cressida tried to make a life being cruel with others. Pen just was saying the truth. Maybe she didn't knew how to use her power, but she was never cruel. Something that makes them very different it's the way they use LW power. Cressida lies. If you think that Penelope did wrong things yes. But LW saved Daphne of marrying the Prince. Colin to married someone who didn't care about him and have a sad and terrible life. She saved Eloise to be blame to be LW. And Penelope did write because nobody listened to her, but she was saying the truth. Her words came for a place of love as Nd caring for others.
Penelope family was hard. But she chose to be kind. She didn't have the Bridgertons. The Bridgertons had her. They loved her because she was cute, kind and sweet. Some words that I would never use to describe Cressida.
You can't blame your family for what you're. Our pass can create some conditions to our life's, but we choose who we want to be. Cressida chose to make her life better to the cost of others. Sorry, she's not a good person. Yes, her family didn't love her.
So, what? I know many kids or people who their family doesn't love them, with ever worse conditions that Cressida had, they chose better. She can do it too. We can break patrons. Penelope did it. She teaches to her mother to be a better self. Maybe Cressida family didn't support her, but she didn't change that. Saying that someone it's a bad person because the family it's wrong and very away from being the truth.
Like, Portia said "maybe they were other options but in the moment I couldn't see them... I don't remember well now. It's always another option. Cressida needs to learn to find them. Because you what? I'm sure if she would've chose asked for help to Pen and Colin and not blackmail them, they would've help her.
I didn't blame to Eloise. She was right about Cressida anyway.
It's a moment when you have the power to decide who you want to be, Cressida make the wrong choice. Maybe she can be a better person. Honestly I don't care so much about it.

How it all went wrong with the familiars
Today had been one of the worst days I've ever experienced. Before today, I thought that the worst challenge I could have ever faced was defeating Lucio, and boy, was I wrong.
I hear the bell ring as several sets of feet enter the shop, and a collective gasp as my new guests observe the disastrous scene before them. All at once, the sounds of seven different familiars fervidly greet their owners.
Lifting the arm I have over my eyes, I see my friends looking worriedly from their anxious familiars, to me, do the destroyed shop that I don't have the energy to clean up. Muriel looks especially worried and is about to say something before I wordlessly walk over and softly plonk my head against his chest with a dejected sigh.
"Never again," I mumble into my husband's shirt as his arms come up to rub my back comfortingly.
"Merf, what happened?!?" Asra exclaims incredulously.
"Are you alright?" Muriel asks at the same time.
"I'll be fine in a bit, I think," I reply, backing away a little so that I can confront the group as a whole. "Do you want the long or the short answer?" I add in reply to Asra's question.
"I believe a longer explanation would be in order, Merf, but I think it would be best if we all sat down first, for your sake," Nadia interjects. "It seems that you all have had a rather trying day."
"Hah! You've got that right," I reply, taking Muriel's hand as we all gingerly make our way to the apartment upstairs - which has thankfully been mostly untouched.
"Why are all our familiars wet?" Asra asks when we all sit down.
"And slimy?" Portia adds with disgust as she cradles Pepi, who has now been wrapped in a towel.
"And, er....sticky," Julian adds as he helps Nadia pick filth and expensive looking beads out of Malak and Chandra's feathers.
"I'll just start at the beginning, shall I?" I ask, helping Asra pass out towels to everyone as we all begin to clean our familiars. The group nods, and I have another exhausted sigh as I begin to tell my tale.
~~ Earlier that morning ~~
"Are you sure this is going to work?" Muriel asks as our cart nears the shop.
"It wouldn't be an experiment if I knew, would it?" I reply, and Inanna lets out a cheery bark of support from the back of the cart, tail wagging. My response doesn't seem to reassure Muriel however, so I place a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Look, the worst case scenario is that the spell is fake and nothing happens. Nobody's going to get hurt today, and everything is going to be fine!"
~~
"Wise choice of words," Asra jokes as he gently towels off Faust.
"If I had known what was going to happen today, I wouldn't have said it," I retort.
~~
As we pull up to the shop, Asra opens the door to greet us.
"Hello you two!" He exclaims as Inanna jumps out of the cart, and I follow suit. "Everything is ready for you Merf, Portia just dropped off Pepi and all the others from the palace."
I can already hear various animal noises coming from inside the shop, and Asra gives me a bit of a drawn look.
"Did you have to include Lucio's dogs in this? They've only been in there for about five minutes and they're already proving to be tough to handle."
"I wouldn't have been able to get Chandra and Pepi if I didn't take Mercedes and Melchior too, and it's not their fault that their previous owner was Lucio," I reply. "I'll make it work, don't worry."
"If you say so," Asra shrugs, hopping up onto the cart next to Muriel. "Good luck with your spell!"
"Good luck with your foraging!" I reply, waving as the cart moves away down the street. "Alright, shall we go inside?" I ask, turning to Inanna. She huffs an affirmative, and we both make our way up the steps together.
A cacophony of sounds assaults my ears as we enter; Mercedes and Melchior are barking their heads off at Chandra, Malak, and Faust who are all perched in the rafters, while Pepi yowls back at the dogs from her place on top of the cabinets behind the service counter. I form a glowing orange whistle in my hand as I shut the door, and Inanna lies down on the floor covering her ears with a whine.
I blow the whistle as loud as I can, drowning out the rest of the noise and bringing the animal chatter quickly to a stop.
"that's enough of that everyone, we've got work to do today," I declare as Inanna stands up again. "All of you come down from there and make a circle on the floor," I command, and after a minute each animal slowly moves over to the middle of the shop in a rough circle.
Mercedes and Melchior whine as most of the familiars all try to sit as far away from them as they can, and I let out a sigh from my place at the counter where Asra left the ingredients for my spell.
"Inanna, do you mind?" I ask politely, and Inanna gives me a whuff in response before sitting next to the borzoi siblings so they stop complaining.
"Thank you. Now all of you, enough with this bickering. We're all going to be spending the day together, and things will go a lot better if we don't argue about it. That starts, by the way, with not alienating Mercedes and Melchior," I declare, giving the rest of the familiars a stern look. After a minute, Chandra ruffles her feathers a little bit before scooting closer to Mercedes and Melchior, the rest of the familiars following suit until they're all sitting in a much less wobbly circle.
"Much better," I tell them before double checking the last of the instructions from the magic book I brought with me. "Alright. If all goes well, this should allow all of you to communicate with me mentally for a day."
I take the bowel of lavender colored powder in my hands, and move into the middle of the circle before tossing several pinches of the power over the familiars and my head. Focusing my magic, I cast the spell just how the book said to, then wait as the powder dissipates.
"Did it work?" I ask.
"smells funny," a voice says in my head, and I can see Faust tasting the air with her tongue. My ears shoot up with surprise.
"Was that you Faust?" I exclaim.
"It certainly wasn't me," a demure voice replies as Chandra lands on my shoulder, giving me a purposeful gaze.
"This is amazing, it worked!" I exclaim happily.
"Can we go home now?" Mercedes asks as her brother comes up to sniff my pockets. "Do you have treats for us?"
"Yes, let's go home," Malak exclaims in agreement with Mercedes.
"Woah hold on, settle down everyone," I reply, backing out of the circle of familiars so I can look at them directly. "The agreement was that I'd be allowed to do this spell if I would pet-sit you all, and I intend to hold up my end of the deal. Let's just be calm and hang out in the shop today, alright?"
"Can we have food?" Pepi asks, pawing my boot, and the rest of the familiars begin clamoring in agreement. It takes another whistle and Inanna's piercing howls to get everyone to shut up long enough for me to speak.
"Thank you Inanna."
"You're welcome," she replies.
"I have food for everyone," I continue, talking fast so I don't get interrupted again. "If you'll all just give me a moment to set things up, we can all have lunch. Happy?"
A chorus of agreements answer and I let out a sigh of relief before going upstairs and pulling out bowels and pet food left for me by everyone's owners. Within minutes, everyone including myself is happily eating away.
Once lunch is over, I gather everything up and take it all back upstairs to be cleaned in the sink. I barely have time to set down my armload though, before I hear several large crashes coming from the shop.
Downstairs, Mercedes and Melchior are chasing Pepi, while Inanna and Chandra try their best to stop them. Furniture has been knocked over, Malak is flying around screeching in the rafters, and I dash to save Faust before she's trampled by four sets of paws.
"I left for two minutes!" I shout over the noise, unsure of what to do to stop the chaos. "What happened?!?"
"Salty cat insult snooty dogs, snooty dogs chase cat and destroy shop," Faust tells me in dismay. I try to sneak around towards the front door to try to get a better vantage point, but I trip over the leg of a fallen table in my haste, the fall flinging Faust from my shoulders.
Fortunately, Faust lands on the doorknob out of harm's way. Unfortunately, when she tries to get down and slither off to a new hiding place she accidentally opens the door, and Pepi, Mercedes and Melchior, Chandra, and Inanna all go zooming out of the shop at top speed. Malak tries to make a break for it too, but I've managed to get back on my feet by this point and snatch Malak out of the air before he can escape.
"No you don't!" I exclaim as Faust comes slithering back to me. "You're gonna follow them and tell me where they're going, alright?" I demand, turning Malak to face me as I talk.
"I can't track them if they're getting away! I knew this was a bad idea! THEY'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Malak protests.
"Not on my watch," I reply determinedly, scooping Faust onto my shoulders and locking the shop door. "You let me and Faust chase them down on foot, and be my eyes and ears in the air. Got it?"
~~
"Fine," Malak relents, and I give him a nod before tossing him into the air. I can see some carnage on the streets where the rest of the familiars ran through, and start following it. With Malak's help, Faust and I make our way towards the market place.
In the distance, I hear a loud commotion, several people shouting and screaming, and desperate howls from Inanna, Mercedes, and Melchior. I put on an extra burst of speed and run towards the sound, breaking through the shocked crowd to find a demolished beauty stall, a very angry vendor, and Chandra, Malak, and Pepi slathered in lotions, beads, and glitter.
"Ah, that would explain it," Nadia interrupts as she tackles a particularly thick clump of glitter in Chandra's feathers. "I'll make sure to send that vendor extra compensation for their troubles tomorrow morning."
~~
Once I had fixed the stall and paid a very hefty price for the damages, I gathered the familiars into a side alley.
"What's going on? Where are Inanna, Mercedes and Melchior?"
"Thieves cornered us in the street and stole them with help from the crowd," Chandra informs me as she tries to shake glitter from her feathers, with little success.
"What?!?" I exclaim, my ears flattening as panic rises in my chest.
"The bad men said they're gonna sell them all! Our friends are gone forever!" Malak wails.
"Oh no, this is bad," I reply, trying to think of any spells I could use. "Argh! If only I had something personal from one of them, I could use a tracking spell!"
"Would this help? Chandra asks, holding up a tuft of white fur in one of her talons. "This belongs to Melchior, I believe."
"Oh, Chandra you beautiful bird, yes!!! This is perfect!" I cry, my ears perkig up with joy and quickly taking the fur from her sticky talons, casting a tracking spell. With that, we're all off again, and I follow the spell down to the east docs until we stop close to a foreign-looking ship being loaded with large crates.
"There! Those are the bad guys!" Pepi exclaims, directing my attention to two thugs talking to the ship's captain. Next to them are three large crates, all howling and barking loudly. Suddenly, I realize I know these thugs; they were the ones who tried to Mug me and Muriel before getting their asses kicked by Morga.
A growl escapes my throat as my ears flatten, and I leave our hiding place to give those thieves a piece of my mind, the familiars tentatively following suit.
"Hey!" I shout over the noise as eyes turn at my arrival. Most of these people aren't from around here, but recognition shines in the thieves eyes when they turn to see me.
"Those animals don't belong to you," I declare, pointing at the crates. "I'd like to have them back, now."
"O-of course, Mrs. hero, we didn't know they were yours!" The more burly thief replies as him and his companion back away at my approach. The captain just laughs, slapping his hand on the top crate and shaking his head.
"I can't let you take my cargo," the captain replies in a thick accent. "Run along lady, or my crew will have to hurt you."
"I wasn't asking," I retort, summoning a glowing, bladed staff in my hands. The thieves make a run for it, and the familiars at my heels start getting a little nervous.
"it's your head then," the captain replies, snapping his fingers. As the crew of the ship advances I quickly cast a spell that shatters the boxes, freeing Inanna, Mercedes, and Melchior. Before anyone can act we all make a break for it, a mob of angry sailors chasing after us. I try to loose our pursuers in the alleys, but people get in our way and make it easier for the sailors to keep up.
Suddenly, the familiars and I come to a dead end at one of the canals. I can hear the angry sailors behind us, and as I look around for options I spot a man with an otherwise empty gondola nearby.
"Jump!" I exclaim, leaping into the canal and swimming towards the empty gondola. The other familiars follow suit save for Chandra and Malak who fly to us instead, leaving the angry sailors to return to their captain empty handed.
The gondolier is very surprised when we all climb into his boat, but I give him the last of my coins for his troubles and have him take us back to the shop.
~~
"And that's where you all found us," I finish, resting my arms and head on the table with an exhausted sigh.
"My my, what an adventure," Nadia replies with a wry grin as Muriel begins to rub my shoulders comfortingly.
"Looks like we're all in for bath night," Portia groans, and in my head all of the familiars chorus in agreement.
"Did you at least learn something from your experience Merf?" Asra asks with a smirk.
"I did, actually," I reply. "None of these guys are allowed to be in the same room together ever again."
Muriel let's out a snort and everyone else bursts out with laughter of their own. Eventually, I give a weak giggle myself, and we all stand to go home. I offer to stay just a little longer to help clean up the mess in the shop, but Asra and Julian refuse, insisting that they've got it taken care of and that I can just go home.
"Take the day off tomorrow while you're at it," Asra adds before we leave. "You certainly need it!"
"You don't have to tell me," I reply, slipping out into the night and tiredly climbing onto the cart. Muriel sits down beside me, resting an arm on my still damp shoulders as I sigh for the upteenth time today.
"I assume it'll be a hot spring bath today?" Muriel asks with a knowing grin.
"Yes please," I groan tiredly, and Muriel lets out a low chuckle.
"Sounds good. I'll join you, Asra and I took a long time in the forest."
"Don't forget me," Inanna adds from her spot in the bed of the cart.
"Of course we won't forget you Inanna, you've been a very good girl today," I reply fondly. It's nice to actually hear what she's saying now, although I don't think all the trouble I went through today was worth it.
Maybe I'll try the spell again one day, but just on Inanna. For now though, I'm happy to spend time with my family, and a smile finally appears on my face as the day ends.

DAILY ANGEL MESSAGE!
Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, say this prayer and then keep reading: “Thank you angels for revealing to me what I need to know!”
MESSAGE
You are being guided to let go of the need to be right or to prove your point. If you are in a heavy, emotional, or challenging situation right now, there’s a good chance that your ego is encouraging you to make decisions that are working against your growth rather than supporting you in being the light that you were born to be. If you are falling into old limitations or old ways or being, then the only person who is going to be stuck is you, and the Universe wants you to be free.
It may be hard to hear, but it’s time to right your own wrongs in order to be energetically clear.
You have the opportunity to make up for past injustices. To do this, you have to be honest and see the parts of yourself that you’ve avoided in the past; this will enable you to be supported, guided, and abundant in the future.
ABOUT
Lady Portia’s name means “doorway,” and she is the spiritual embodiment of justice. As the twin flame of Saint Germain and one of the keepers of the Violet Flame, a divine energy that can be invoked to aid transformation, she is working closely with lightworkers to help them overcome low‑vibrational energy and bust through any blockages that are stopping them from doing their great work.
In her many incarnations upon Earth, Lady Portia often found herself in positions where she was a voice of justice and balance. Now she can help us uncover past karma and understand the patterns we may be experiencing now in order to unlock lessons and overcome setbacks. Her presence is powerful yet angelic.

Periphery Headcanon
Being so heavily inspired by the Fallout series, my Lily is a periphery baby, because it fits into the way I have written my wastelander character. And since My Time seems to me like a Fallout Lite TM, why not mix in some aspects?
I headcanon that a lot of the Peripheries and beyond are pretty much a Wasteland similar to the one in the Fallout universe; with variations in climate.
Radiation and chemical mutations are a thing, just like we have found in various instances of the game, such as the Shipwreck, the mines in Portia, The Valley of Whispers, the mutant rats and other sentient animals, etc.
The mutated humanoids give me feral ghoul vibes. Sluggish movements, mind is gone, obviously former humans. Those in worksuits also resemble the ghosts in Dead Money.
The surface itself is littered with Old World buildings, that would normally be scavenged like the settled ruins in the Alliance and inhabited locations... but hear me out.
What if everything is so dangerous out there, because it's considered to be the ground zero for whatever calamity has happened? And the chemical leakages were much stronger and concentrated than on (ironically) the Periphery and beyond, aka. the current habited countries.
Would explain the monsters being stronger, bigger, and faster. Doss was literally destroyed by a huge monster from the Periphery, and frontier town Civil Corps have to deal with them from time to time.
Now, hear me out. Isn't it interesting how militarized Duvos is? Or how scientific advanced Vega 5 is, compared to the rest of the world? How comes these two countries are so concentrated with their respective fields, while the rest have a little bit of everything?
Duvos == Enclave. Hear me out. They're both highly militarized. Enclave itself is composed from pre-War military personnel and scientists from whatever is left of the United States government. They have this superior attitude over their own purity and right to govern. They don't believe they're doing anything wrong. They are highly militarized (military bases, Power Armor suits, multi-leveled bunkers, airships), industrialized (self-sustaining bunkers, oil rigs), and are ferocious patriots. Sounds familiar?
Now; let's look at Duvos. Huge empire, seems to uphold Old World Glory ideals, superiority and almost godlike complex, highly militarized and industrialized, access to advanced tech, airships, and gear, military-grade armor and armament, and very very patriotic. I revised some of the Duvos' invasion questline dialogue, and the sense of patriotism is very strong. Fitting.
Vega 5 == Institution. Almost. Since Vega 5 is part of the Alliance, they're not autonomous psychos that kidnap surface dwellers for experiments and entertainment. But they are both: fairly secluded, science oriented, studying different fields, have a ferocious military power (considering the Alliance could only push back against Duvos when Vega 5 lended their expertise), curious by nature, pragmatic, focused on bettering the human race above all, competitive, cold on average.
For those that are not familiar with the Institution; the Old World scientists that hid in the bunker between the Institute of Technology, slowly started to dig and work away, keeping up with their research even two centuries after the war. See? They were also hidden in bunkers.
The My Time history page also suggests that the humans were driven underground after the Age of Calamity started. But they were highly advanced tech-wise... wouldn't it make sense that they hid in bunkers, and not caves?
You can see where I'm going with this, right?? Hear me out. What if the settlers of Duvos, and the settlers of Vega 5, were old military and science personnel that used to inhabit the various bunkers scattered across the Periphery and beyond. What if, due to various reasons, they left and went on their merry way. What if, in some cases, they were forced outside by the life support system of the bunkers collapsing.
Now, I guess in some cases, they didn't get along and just shot each other to death. But some could have just wanted to restore the Old World, while others only cared about bettering the human race. Some didn't agree with each other, and simply split up. Others just headed towards the newly formed Alliance, to aid them with their technical knowledge.
I also headcanon that some of the bunkers exist. Lily was born in Year 76, and for the first few years of her life, she inhabited such a bunker, before the life support system failed on them. Maybe the water chip broke (heh). But her parents wanted to join trading caravans and aid the settlers as Wasteland Scientists; while her uncle and his family headed for Vega 5, aided by a search party. Or by a Monster Hunting guild team. Something.
That's why Lily's cousin is a Vega 5 researcher, and she's an angry bounty hunter.
I also headcanon that civilization wise; there are camps, inhabited ruins by small groups of people, Monster Hunting guild outposts, trading caravans, groups of prospectors and scavengers; bandit camps, fugitives, outlaws, and many mercenaries that grew up here and migrated towards Duvos, Ethea, or the Alliance, to earn a better living as hired guns and bounty hunters.
It's unforgiving as heck.
Makes you wonder how Wei survived for so long and seems so happy and upbeat.
Will your OC set camp here?

It’s crazy how Portia apologist try to minimize the real issue in what Portia is doing with this get rid of Spencer crusade. They are quick to call out Sprina fans by accusing us of only having smoke for Portia bcuz she’s tryna prevent Sprina from having their sex scenes 🙄. That Portia has every right to do what she’s doing giving that track record with Spencer. Ngl I sigh when I see these comments bcuz I believe so many have made it clear that we understand why Portia feels the way she feels and she has every right to her concerns about the relationship. The problem continues to be she infantilizes her very grown daughter, doesn’t allow her to have agency to live her life as she sees fit regardless of agreeing with her choices, it’s not about Trina really but Portia’s need for control so it’s coming from an unhealthy place. We see her trying to recruit loved ones of Trina into her mess which I feel is so disrespectful to Trina. We can’t protect our children from everything. They’re gonna experience the joys and pains of life like everyone else, the best parents can do is prepare them for the world the best they can and be there as a support when they are adults. Portia can’t run Trina’s life. Yes Spencer is a Cassadine and being with him has put Trina at higher risk than normal but Trina can be the catalyst to change the trajectory of the Cassadine family. Her presence in this family can have them going down a new path. I believe she has the ability to do that because Spencer is different than his ancestors and is willing to go down a different path. With the right person by his side it’s absolutely possible. So imo these apologist simply miss the mark for me and are quick to absolve Portia of her part in this whole situation
I think it's possible to be sympathetic to Portia's reservations about Trina and Spencer without ignoring that her planning to plot against her daughter's relationship is incredibly toxic. The current Trina and Portia dynamic is very fraught and nuanced, and I think anything nuanced tends to be a struggle for some people. Especially on a soap opera where emotions are always high and taking sides is the name of the game.
I think some of what Portia said has merit. She's not wrong to not want Trina to dedicate her life to being Spencer's conscience. She's not wrong to not want Trina to agree to things she'd never agree to because Spencer needs her. She's not wrong to not want her daughter, full of ambitions and dreams, to give up a life she has planned for herself, to the cause of Spencer Cassadine.
Portia is wrong to want Trina to only live her life the way she expects her to. Portia is wrong to plot behind her daughter's back when she's already broken her heart over a loss of trust. Portia is wrong to want to perpetually infantilize Trina because she doesn't agree with the way she uses her agency.
She is preparing to hurt her daughter more under the false assumption that she's protecting her from Spencer. The more she tries to recruit people, the more it looks like she's the one that Trina needs to be protected from, or at the very least warned about.
