Ask game tag from @dare-g (hey thanks friend sorry this took forever lmao :3)
Last Song You Listened To:
Other than the songs I posted just before this, I've had this one man project called KidMotor on repeat. Total random discovery and I love it. Every EP is different but I'm really into 777 Lives, this art student kid from Vancouver with family originally from Mexico captures the sound of sun bleached west coast post-punk in one song and transitions seamlessly into some ambient dark synthwave in another. I really really really recommend listening to every project on his bandcamp.
Last Movie You Watched: Recently rewatched the original 1976 Assault On Precinct 13 by John Carpenter. I can't get enough of that score.
Currently Watching: I honestly don't watch many new shows or much of anything really unless it's Sopranos or The Wire for the 100th time lmao so it's a lot of youtube, currently a compilation of the Super Best Friends L.A. Noir let's play on in the background every now and then.
Other Things You've Watched This Year: Ah see above for my boring answer lmao. OH! FUNNY CONNECTION I saw the latest Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movie with my dad the last time I visited home and it happened to be in the 3 screen theater :^)
Currently Reading: Forever Words - The Unknown Poems by Johnny Cash
Currently Listening To: at this very moment, Glycerine by Bush on repeat. In a general sense, been looking for and listening to underground lofi black metal projects and the like.
Currently Working On: Uhhhh I'm kinda between projects atm I guess. A few weeks ago I finished an activity/sensory board for my niece and nephew. My buddies and I are co-opping Dead Island 2 if that counts.
Current Obsession: Now that my pc is up and running again I'd like to try to get back into mixing vaporwave/mallsoft again and potentially making videos to go along with it. And my leopard gecko Godzilla :3
Tagging folks do it if you wanna no pressure <3

Ooooh congratulations on 5k Mae!!! Your writing is incredible!! I was just wondering if I could do a stargaze (is that proper verbiage in this situation?? I’m not quite sure but I’m rolling with it)
Song: I can’t really pin down a favourite but I LOVE old country like Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins
Book: either the Hobbit or Superman: Birthright (it’s a comic but I’m hoping it counts 🙏)
Movie: Pretty Woman!! God I love that movie so bad!!
ALSO I have a male preference andddd the Marauders my beloved
Thanks lovely! I think you'd be best suited to James! He would 300% be into old music in general but I think he'd think old country was super fun and I mean we've talked about how he can totally be into any typical "nerd" stuff but I think he would love comics and all the culture around that. He'd be on the fringes but he'd totally geek out with you if you wanted to :)

listen, this might be niche or nitpicky, but as a huge music lover, i just don't think sand's english-language bands (and artist) list sounds authentic. and it's not that i even dislike any of those musicians (ok, no, i do find the beatles excruciatingly boring and horrid, but otherwise i've enjoyed at least a couple of songs by everyone else listed), i just don't think they make a ton of sense as a full list that represents like half his music taste.
it very much feels like random nirvana posters hung up on the walls of a room where a teenager with a guitar lives on a random tv show. could a teenager with a guitar technically be super in love with nirvana? of course! i am sure kurt inspired many young musicians, and rightfully so. but it's so overdone and stereotypical and it just never feels like much thought was put into the character's love for music. this is like that but x6.
the list "arctic monkeys, oasis, the smiths" literally sounds like something that came up after a google search "you know, those rock bands from england", and then they played a "name the first iconic english-speaking artist that comes to mind" game and queen, the beatles, and johnny cash were truly just the first ones mentioned. it's such an abundance of incredibly popular musicians, not to mention that the youngest band listed was formed over 20 years ago.
idk, sand is a young aspiring musician. i'm not saying he can't be into all those bands, but he is attempting to give a list that reflects a solid chunk of his music taste (especially since he goes into listing english-speaking musicians before talking about thai musicians, so i assume the former is the first thing that comes to mind when he thinks of his own music taste) and it just doesn't feel like it. i am so sure he would be into all kinds of musicians his age and just slightly older, into stuff that's a little less well-known, to be honest in all sorts of languages, but english especially (and i say that as someone who listens to artists in his first language all the time, but whose playlist is still mostly overtaken by music in english, just because it gets constantly recommended and is incredibly accessible). i just refuse to believe that his entire playlist of songs in english can be reflected in naming these six bands consecutively and without anything else on the list. what is this, an ai-generated top 100 greatest rock-adjacent hits?
#i know cash is country but ykwim#to be clear this isn't any kind of real criticism lmao#like i'm sure even if they wanted to do something more interesting they simply didn't have time#but im passionate about music sue me#only friends the series#ofts#archer speaks#this is also known as arhcer's posts that like two people will be into - at best

Album time. Last time left off on Nirvana, so picking up from there is Apple Venus Volume 1 by XTC. I really enjoyed the last XTC album I got, but this one was faded from my memory entirely. I gave it a 3/5, and that seems right for something I was able to forget that easily.
Then we have L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods. I didn't know I need a French metal album in my life, but this fucking slaps. You should listen to it. The website has this at an average rating of 2.34/5, and frankly fuck that this album is good. 4/5.
Next was Talking Book by Stevie Wonder. Now, this album started by whammying me with Walgreens PTSD with "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life", but also has "Superstition" on it and is generally great. So, we'll say one point off for the trauma bomb for a 4/5.
Next up, Highway to Hell by AC/DC. And like, yeah no shit it's good. AC/DC fucking rules. 5/5.
Then was Live / Dead by The Grateful Dead. It's very boring. Painfully boring. If I had died of boredom listening to this, I would have in fact been grateful. 2/5.
After that, Talk Talk Talk by The Psychadelic Furs. This was cool but not super remarkable. If you like indie rock stuff, give it a look but I didn't love it. 3/5
At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash. I liked the San Quentin prison album better, but this is still really good. Listen to both. 4/5 on this. (San Quentin was a 5/5 to me, if you're curious.)
Phrenology by The Roots. This one didn't stick well in my brain, but at least I remember liking it. 4/5
Okay. Listen. I've determined I really don't like David Bowie that much, or this album The Next Day. I'm sorry. He's ridiculously good when he's good, but his music just doesn't land for me usually. Plus side, unlike a lot of his albums this one doesn't end on a meandering 20 minutes of instrumentals. This may be a downside if you like those songs way more than I do, though. 3/5
Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout. This album was actually a ton of fun. Just some good rock and roll that I'm guessing you probably haven't already heard. 5/5
Faust IV by Faust. It's boring. 3/5
Vanishing Point by Primal Scream. It sounds like the background track to a 90s action movie's obligatory club scene. If that sounds good to you, you should ABSOLUTELY listen to this. If not, skip it. 3/5
So Much For the City by The Thrills. It's EXTREMELY boring. 2/5
And today we have Whatever by Aimee Mann. It's pretty good. Had a couple songs I enjoyed a bunch, "Fifty Years After The Fair" and "Say Anything." It's very 90s. 4/5

(abridged) liner notes for @carys-the-ninth per request under the cut
1) Something to Believe / Weyes Blood
M-'s nun origin story, the thesis statement if you will. Someone who is absolutely desperate to find meaning in something larger than her. In my detailed headcanon M-'s nun met M- before taking vows, since I do not think M- or Mercymorn is open enough to become best friends with a woman of the cloth. No, I think M- and her nun met when they were younger and experienced the ecstasies and agonies of mentally ill lesbian comphet, the kind where both parties have horror stories that end with "and we weren't even DATING." This song is secular M-'s nun having a bad old time
2) I Know There's An Answer / The Beach Boys
Ope, what's that over there? Is that the specter of tradcath radicalisation? Thingss are starting to look up for M-'s nun who, despite having some stuff going on (cf. committing suicide twice, famously a thing that happy and well people love to do) is essentially an optimist who wants to be happy (she's a delight). She's a nun and she's got the answer and that answer is the Holy Trinity (plus everyone else and paraphernalia)
3) Soul Meets Body / Death Cab For Cutie
This starts the section of the playlist that directly deals with M-'s nun's time with Jod and the lads, as it's the most information we get on her. She's in a fortified laboratory with her no-homo bestie, said bestie's worstie, and the incarnate god on earth, and she wants to know where soul meets body!!!!!!!!!
4) Canaan's Land / United Sacred Harp Musical Association
Sacred harp singing is an inherently collaborative style of music. There are no rehearsals; just people sitting in a square facing each other and singing the most unbelievably grim music at full volume at each other. It is, in and of itself, a form of worship. M-'s nun is under the impression she's taking the covenant with her bestie :3 while arguing with the Vatican about miracles. Beyond the form, Canaan's Land is a song about accepting guidance from God, and being really excited to go to heaven..... maybe,,,,,, a little TOO excited.....
5) There Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down / G.M. Farley, The Foggy River Boys
This is the first of the "suicide trio" - songs that I put on the playlist to reflect multiple angles for Cristabel's first suicide. There Ain't No Grave is another ultrachristian banger, and reflective of intense faith in resurrection. I don't think Cristabel's suicide was a spur of the moment decision, just as I don't think Cristabel was actually stupid. Fellas we are NOT taking Augusting Quinque at face value. Her first suicide is grounded in a profound faith that she won't be dead for very long - John will find where soul meets body (yoooo) and resurrect her. Which tbf does happen, just... a bit differently than planned
6) Far Side Banks Of Jordan / Johnny Cash and June Carter
Super romantic ballad about waiting for your loved ones after death but not being overly upset about your death, or their death, or death in general! M-'s nun has to know that M- is not going to deal well with her suicide (also do you guys ever think about how she killed herself basically in front of M-/ Mercymorn twice). How does M-'s nun justify what she's going to do to her no-homo bestie? Once more she's appealing to faith in John.
7) I'm Going to Do It / Giles Corey
Dark night of the soul o'clock feat. Giles Corey, the folk offshoot of Have A Nice Life aka the band extremely online people had depression to from ~2013 - 2018. Things are going wrong, and John is slowly revealing himself to be a destructive and vindictive man who priotises revenge and being right over the wellbeing of everything. Doubts are creeping in, but M-'s nun has a plan and she's going to execute it because she has faith.
8) Boot Sequence / meganeko
The act of resurrection. After an unknown amount of time where M-'s nun's body rots untended in a flooded bunker, John gets the bright idea to resurrect everyone after mindwiping them. This is a fun and soothing song! Huge tune for computergirls! John chose to strip his closest companions of everything but their lives. He rebooted them like they were shitty laptops that might work a little better with a different operating system, and that's a little fucked up! This is also the start of a tonal change in the playlist where M-'s nun becomes Cristabel, and I think some things probably got a little goofy on transition.
9) wat it feels like to get trepanned / MIMIDEATH
yeah i'm gonna be real with you this one isn't that deep. cristabel sure found out what it feels like to get trepanned
10) Suicide Pact / Furry Loser
Cristabel has lost the scaffolding that organised religion provides and now she's the universe's biggest fanatic for a DIY space cult run by a guy who got his PhD in microaggressions. It's time for Suicide v.2 but this time she's bringing Albert along for the ride
11) Bye / Elliot Smith
Hey guys is it bad to inflict 9,700 years of unbearable grief on your no-homo bestie? What does that grief sound like after year 5,000 or so? Thankfully Elliot Smith has provided us with this piano tune that's a touch too queasy to be elegiac but too sad to be anything else. The Cristabel Haunts The Narrative but Everyone Hates Her For It song; the score for minute 22:07 - 24:00 in Mercymorn's funeral
cristabel oct!!!!
SO GLAD YOU ASKED. I must unfortunately submit a prior playlist for your inspection that covers her pre-res life, suicide, resurrection and death 2 (electric boogaloo)

XYX song: Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
only sings funnyman songs
eg: all star, country roads, the pokemon intro...
does NOT take it seriously AT ALL
the first song he sings is a rickroll (obviously)
but annoyingly is not a bad singer
(because he's good at everything apparently...)
(he goofs around but his voice really suits those like frank sinatra, johnny cash esque songs...)

NAKED TOASTER
song: Dancing Queen - Abba
VERY shy about it
doesn't wanna sing at all at first but xyx forces encourages him to (and he has a bit to drink)
when he does end up singing he picks very classic karaoke songs so everyone can sing along!!!
(their face is FLUSHED afterwards but they did have fun)
not a bad singer per se but they struggle w melody and tone and stuff
(+ he doesn't sing seriously because he Is Embarrassed)
also the type to forget the lyrics (even if they're on the screen right in front of them)
prefers listening to the others sing and provide backup vocals/instrumental
the guy with the maracas/tambourine
NIGHTOWL
song: Gotta Go My Own Way - High School Musical
the Musical Theatre guy... Or like really trashy 2000s pop
sings duets by himself.......

hes suuuuper high energy.. hes having so much fun
his neighbours ring his doorbell like Seven times and ask him to Shut Up
(he does not)
bad singer and he owns it
(his charisma makes up for it)
puts on a whole performance, jumping around, using a hairbrush for a microphone and shit
QUEST
song: Take On Me - A-ha
this guy.. he sings old songs.... like queen maybe billy joel stuff like that
probably the best singer out of all of them .. but he doesn't take the compliment
loooves karaoke.. loves suggesting songs you all do loves listening.. Hes just a karaoke guy
he needs a couple of drinks to get out of his shell fully but then hes unstoppable
hypes everyone up SO much full on cheering and shit
likes singing romantic duets... ;-)
in general, he does like Ten Minute Long ballads but no one minds because hes a good singer... and hot guy privilege
ONIONTHIEF
song: Mr Brightside - The Killers
does NOT want to sing
but nightowl picked a song and now he HAS to.. tch
(embarrassed but he is a good singer... and hes probably cocky abt it...)
"Ugh, can I go now." when the song is done (doesn't go.) (doesn't want to go)
probably judging everyone's song choices ("Pff, nightowl. Britney Spears? Really?")
he literally listens to Like mcr and shit in secret But OK!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
("Their lyrics are poetic." OK emo boy.)
does end up having a little fun Maybe but hes being all tsundere abt it -__-
TWO2
song: I Kissed A Girl - Katy Perry
the music guy
not a singer but his mum probably made him go to choir or something so he can hold a tune
another hype man! loves singing with his friends! and loves telling them that!
picks songs from every category probably, like he will sing the beatles and avril lavigne right after
has fun no matter what... likes singing by himself, listening to the other, singing together.. he is just a little guy
knows Literally every song ever... I feel like he has super broad tastes

can we get some fluffy tf2 headcannons? giving you full creative liberty over this one! :)
Idk if you meant tf2 x reader headcanons or just general head canons, so I did two sections for each merc; the first point is a general headcanon, the second is X Reader.
sorry this took forEEEEEEEEVER, I was just experiencing burnout and working on a prize for a contest on my server (BTW WE HAVE A NEW DRAWING CONTEST GO CHECK IT OUT)
Scout:
Scout is actually really self-concious about his intelligence. He’s not very bright and he knows it, and it makes him feel horrible. He had flunked out of high school and struggled in most of his core classes. He honestly feels really stupid and he hates when people point it out. But luckily for him, a lot of the other mercs understand what it’s like to be looked down upon and empathize with him. Quite a few of them help him relearn the skills he never mastered in school. Engie helps him with math, Spy sometimes helps him with writing, and even Pyro has him read children’s books to them to improve his reading.
Scout absolutely loves little casual dates. Stuff like going out to eat lunch, going to the movies, maybe just cuddling up in his quarters and watching a movie. He tries to plan one every week. His dream date is taking you back to Boston to meet his family and go to a Red Sox game. But obviously, since you’re both in New Mexico at the time, he’s going to have to shelve that dream for a few years.
Soldier:
Soldier is an excellent raccoon dad. At first, the other mercenaries thought they’d all end up dead by the end of the month when he first found them. But surprisingly, they are are very well cared for. They’re all fed regularly and basically have his entire assigned quarters to themselves. He loves every single one of them dearly, even the ones that hiss and scratch him every time. The raccoons, at least some of them, are kind of like weird, quiet dogs, and actually get along pretty well with most of the other mercenaries.
Soldier is a surprisingly very physically affectionate partner, and he’s not at all opposed to PDA. He loves hand holding, cheek kisses, cuddles, the whole nine yards. Whenever he’s particularly excited, he loves to run up to you, scoop you up into his arms, and press a hard, sloppy kiss to your lips. Of course, he’s careful to not hurt you, but he’s a very intense, emotional guy and he needs to express all that love he has for you!
Pyro:
Pyro is and excellent listener, so they’re a person a lot of the other mercenaries depend on to vent. Demo often comes to them to vent about his emotions, Scout, Sniper, or Medic will rant about what’s bothering them, and even Engineer will talk about his stress. And of course, Pyro doesn’t understand a lot of what is told to them, but they’re still happy to help them feel a little better, and they would happily do it a hundred times over to make their friends feel better.
Pyro has a hobby of baking and making candy/treats, and they love sharing everything they make with you. When they first gave you a treat, you honestly thought it’d be burnt or bad in some other way. But to your surprise, it was amazing! They’re actually and excellent cook, but they just love making sweet things the best. They’ll make you just about anything you could ask for without hesitation, but they’re best at making anything sweet.
Demo:
Demo obviously has the potential to pretty emotional when he’s drunk, there’s no doubt about that. But on the off-chance that he’s sober, he’s actually pretty sweet and considerate. Though he still is a rough-housing joker, he’s much more considerate of his friends’ feelings and has deeper and more meaningful conversations with them. He often likes to go to bars with his friends and co-workers on ceasefire weekends, having lots of fun conversation, drinking together, and generally causing chaos around town.
Demo, to put it simply, doesn’t like himself. He’s critical of everything, from his skills to race, because people have always put him down about them. His mother told him he’s lazy and unskilled too many times to count, just everyone makes fun of his eye, and many have made fun of his skin color. But you make him feel so much better about himself. Just the fact that someone so kind and gorgeous is actually with him makes him feel like he’s not as horrible as he thought. There’s been a couple of times where you’ve accidentally almost brought him to tears with a sweet compliment or show of affection, because he never thought in a million years that someone would love him and care for him like you do. He feels so blessed that he has someone like you.
Heavy:
I know the fandom’s decided that Engie is the Team Mom and makes the food, but I also think that Heavy cooks a lot too. He makes all of his own food, so he often makes a lot of extras to feed the team because a lot of them just eat junk food and Medic’s always complaining about their eating habits. Heavy often takes like half the food for himself (he does have a huge appetite and loves food, so he likes to take a lot) and just boxes up the leftover portions and leaves them in the fridge for the team to take. He says he’s only doing it because they can’t work properly if they’re unhealthy, but he also does it because he cares about their health. A little bit.
At first, you wouldn’t think Heavy’s the most cuddly guy. But surprise, he actually loves giving and receiving physical affection. He just doesn’t show it often out of respect for your boundaries, and doesn’t do it around others. His absolute favorite thing is to cuddle you against his chest. Sometimes it’s when going to sleep, or cuddling on the couch, or maybe just a quick hug. He just loves the feeling of your head resting against his chest and your arms trying (and failing) to wrap around his torso. It makes him feel like you’re safe. Nobody could ever get you when you’re wrapped up in his arms.
Engie:
You’d think Sniper’s the only nature nerd on the team, but Engie absolutely loves the outdoors, as well as animals. It’s because his father would often take him out camping every couple of months. It was often the only time he would get 1-on-1 time with his usually very busy father. So he does love the great outdoors, especially that of his home state. He especially loves animals. He was raised on a farm and helped take care of lots of injured wild animals with his mother. He absolutely loves pets and would like to have many when he retires. His dream is to have is own ranch, with horses and cows and a bunch of dogs and the whole shebang.
Engie absolutely loves playing the guitar, so of course he loves playing for you. He learns all sorts of sweet love songs to sing to you. He’s an excellent player and actually has a pretty decent singing voice (think Johnny Cash, he kinda has that singing style). I hope you like country music, because that’s all he’s going to sing to you until you give him some requests or he finds out your favorite artists or genres. You can tell how happy he is every time he gets to surprise you with a new song he learned, and he’d be a giddy, laughing mess if you sang along with him.
Medic:
You’d think this guy takes horrible care of his birds because of the environment he keeps them in, but his birds are actually exceptionally well cared for. He buys them only the best and most expensive bird food, gives them super high-quality water with vitamins n stuff in it, takes them to the vet regularly, the whole shebang. Yeah they get a little dirty from sitting around in his lab, but he always gives them a little bath at the end of the day to get all the blood and guts off.
Medic is honestly such a playful partner. Of course, around his co-workers he’s a little more professional; he still gives you soft touches, a kiss on the cheek, or a big smile, but that’s about it. In private, however, he’s such a sweetheart. He’s always sweeping you up into big hugs, kissing all over your face, and calling you all sorts of adorable nicknames in a variety of languages. It comes as a surprise, because you’d think he’d be a little more formal, but that’s really only for special occasions. It honestly brings him so much joy to have someone like you by his side, and every day he’s going to make sure you know just how grateful he is to have you in his life.
Sniper:
Sniper is an incredibly independent and self-sufficient man, but he’s also secretly a real mama’s boy. He loves his parents dearly and has a particularly close relationship with his mother. As well as sending them money every month, he sends them all sorts of gifts, letters, postcards, and souvenirs. He also makes sure to call them regularly. He goes home every couple of months to visit them, and one could see that he loves helping around the house and chatting with his parents. His mother loved gardening, so his number-1 favorite thing to do is help her in the garden.
Despite Sniper’s obvious lack of knowledge on self-care, he takes a lot of time out of his day to make sure you are happy, healthy, clean, and well-fed. He doesn’t hound you like a helicopter parent but he likes to ask how you’re feeling, if you’re hungry, stuff like that. It feels nice to know you’re taken care of or take care of you himself. If you switch it around and try to take care of him, however, he’s honestly baffled as to why you would care so much as to make sure he’s doing well. He does absolutely love the affection and attention he gets out of it though, it makes him feel loved.
Spy:
I’ve mentioned this before, but I have a head canon that Spy has a dog. Her name is Charlotte, and she’s an elderly Chihuahua. One would think he’d buy a French breed, but he found her out in the pouring rain one day and fell in love with her fluffy ears and spunky personality. She’s now 17 years old, extremely frail, missing most of her teeth, and extremely aggressive to anyone other than Spy, but he loves her dearly and pays for all of her medical expenses without batting an eye. And of course, she expresses her thanks with lots of kisses.
Spy loves dancing, and knows all kinds of dances, from flamenco to ballroom dancing to the Charleston to, canonically, disco. So of course, he’s dying to share all of the most romantic dances he knows with you. He’d love to actually teach you how to dance, rewarding you with kisses every time you finally get a move right and laughing softly when you make mistakes. But in reality, he just wants to use it as an excuse to dance with you against his chest and smother you in affection.

get to know me game
Doing this since @bluesundaycake so kindly tagged "anyone who wants to do this" (very kind of you, friend!)
Relationship status - taken! Been with my partner for over 6 years now!
Favourite colour - golds, yellows, pinks, oranges
Favourite food - potato. Baked potato, mashed potato, french fries....I will take a potato in all of her glorious forms. Also: catfish and crawfish (cuz I'm a Louisiana girl, if not at heart, at least in my stomach.)
Song stuck in your head - "Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter. It played while we were out for dinner last night and it's not left my head since.
Last thing you googled - "translate" (I needed Google to tell me how someone had bookmarked a fic LOL)
Dream trip - idk I'm not super picky! I just wanna explore the world, see cool things, eat good food, meet nice people, etc. I have a few specific places in mind, if only for their proximity to friends!
Last book you read - hmmm. I'm pretty sure it was Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune by Chris Brennan, or Snape: A Definitive Reading by Lorrie Kim.
Last book you enjoyed - Oh geez. Ummmm. Hmmmm. Who knows? I'm in that weird area of "I've read too many books in my lifetime" but also "I've not actually read a book in a while" (RIP my attention span.) I want to say Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, I reread that one last year I think! I love, love, love that book.
Last book you hated - I wanna say...maybe...I'm not sure, exactly, but I distinctly remember whatever it was deeply offended me on some level. And I tried to trudge through it but got fed up with all of the nonsense the author was spouting. Also fairly certain it was a non-fiction book. But what it was exactly, I can't say, and honestly I remember being so upset, I'm not sure I wanna remember the details LOL.
Favourite thing to cook/bake - Omgggg. Banana bread???? I think banana bread. I love baking in general, but banana bread is special. Something about peeling the bananas and mushing them is so satisfying to me. Also: it smells GREAT, and tastes BETTER.
Favourite craft to do in your free time - I used to knit, but I've not done it in a while! I need to practice again because I remember loving it a lot. And I'd like to learn how to bind books!
Most niche dislikes - "niche" is kinda weird to think about but probably hotdogs? So great is my disdain for hotdogs that I can't even watch other people eat them. My whole body goes into red alert. It instinctively recalls the taste and texture of hotdogs, and watching other people eat them triggers my gag reflex. It is truly quite dramatic and embarrassing.
Also Johnny Cash???? People love Johnny Cash. And no offense or anything but hearing his music makes me feel violent towards my ear drums. I'd paint you a picture but it's really graphic, the feelings it stirs in me. Let's just say, I would not have functioning ear drums by the end. (I'm sorry, the original version of "Hurt" is the best, Nine Inch Nails all the way, I can't fight the truth.)
Opinion on circuses - Cool and creepy, I think? Like, excellent visuals, but also seems like a good setting for a horror film.
Do you have a sense of direction and if not what's the worst way you've gotten lost? My sense of direction is nonexistent but thankfully I have Google Maps to guide me. Most of the time.
The most hilarious way I've gotten lost was the last time I went to my doctor's office. Yes, my doctor. The one I visit at least twice a year for necessary medication. The one that's like a five minute drive from my house. That doctor. Yeah. I tried driving there for my last appointment without Google. And missed my turn. And had to loop around. Spent a few minutes panicking because I ended up on a road I'd never been on before. Managed to pull up Google Maps and got myself to my appointment on time, thank goodness.
Tagging - @liladiurne (and anyone who feels like it!)

Firstly, @radicallyfeminine, I LOVE Familiar Taste of Poison! Singing along to Lzzy Hale taught me I could reach those same notes. Halestorm has a lot of really good songs, but Familiar Taste of Poison just hits different. Sorry, I don't know many people who have even heard of Halestorm, so I was excited to see that!
These are the first 10 from my super list on YouTube music, and I found it to be very representative of my tastes, lol
England (The Industrial Era) - Geoff Knorr [this is from Sid Meier's Civilization VI, and I have it on a few of my cottagecore playlists, it's reminiscent of some pieces from Ralph Vaughn Williams, evocative of the English countryside at the turn of the century]
Raise Hell - Brandi Carlile [not her usual sound, this is from her Bear Creek album; I find her vocals remind me of Johnny Cash on this one, conversely]
⭐️ Perfect Day - Miriam Stockley [anyone from my generation that watched the Peter Rabbit and Friends series from BBC that came out in 1992, will recognize this song, along with The Cuckoo; to this day my #1 favorite song and will always...not cheer me up, but make me feel contented and at peace]
Cruel Summer - Taylor Swift [don't judge me, T-Swizzle has some good songs, and this one goes HARD]
Trøllabundin - Eivør [I'm sure some of you have heard this one already, but if you haven't and are interested in the language and folk music of the Faroe Islands, give it a listen; trøllabundin means 'spellbound' in Faroese, and you will be entranced by Eivør's all-at-once delicate and powerful vocals]
Appalachia - Chelsea Wolfe [I actually only like two songs from her, this and Flatlands, off the same album, but this one gives me the same vibes as Full Moon, by the Black Ghosts (i.e. arriving in a strange, rainy, small town where supernatural things lurk)...its a very specific vibe]
Last Train to Clarksville - The Monkees [their best song, imo; don't @ me]
Shrike - Hozier [a MasterpieceTM; suits my wistful moods as well as my eerie ones, somehow, because those are very disparate moods; good for sunny summer drives to the campground as well as putters down winding dirt toads through rainy forests]
Full Moon - The Black Ghosts [why, yes, this was in Twilight. Why do you ask?]
Breath of Life - Florence + the Machine [originally a song they did for Snow White and the Huntsman, this song was a musical revelation for me! It remains in my top 10 (maybe even top 5), just for the feeling it evokes. I have found no other song quite like it. I've listened to it so many times, I know all the beats, the drums, the harp, the stringed instruments, the choir, even the synth in the back. I need help.]
So, I wasn't expecting this to be this long, but I'm sheepish about my music preferences, so I felt like I needed to explain myself. Sorry.
I tag: @awkward-with-a-big-heart, @my-rheality, @paula-of-christ
I was tagged by @prehistwhoreic to shuffle my on repeat playlist and list the first ten songs! So I just shuffled all my liked songs on spotify cause I'm all over the place (I've even included links because I know people love to listen to other people's music online)
1. Slide - The Goo Goo Dolls
2. Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight - The Oak Ridge Boys
3. The Boxer (Live at Central Park, '91) - Paul Simon
4. Crash into Me - Dave Matthews Band
5. The Disaster of Passion - AISHA, Arc System Works
6. Unite - The O.C. Supertones
7. The 13th Struggle -Larxene- - Yoko Shimamura
8. Mayor Of Simpleton - XTC
9. X Gon' Give It To Ya - DMX
10. Tom Paine's Bones - Coda
Yeah this was about as wack a I expected. tagging @unscheduled-excursion-0000011 (idk if this is even your current blog lmao), @vi-sigoth, @narwhaled-narberta, @plumberism, @bulletsecondshooter, @fenris-calls aaaand any of the other fitposter squad whose blogs i don't know or forgot LOL

Ok, so as a 90s kid, I have some headcanons on the music that Sal and co. listen to:
- Before Sal moved to Knockfell, he listed to radio alt primarily. Some grunge that got airplay, some angsty one hit wonders like Dustin Sheik, a lot of Green Day. If you look up a 90s alt playlist on Spotify, the ones that have all the songs everyone knew, that was what Sal listened to. Henry thought that music was too heavy and dark and depressing, and absolutely panicked when Sal started adding a ton of metal to the rotation. Henry is like weirdly into Jewel, so Sal knows her music and pretends he doesn't like it.
- Ash listens to everything, and I mean everything. It annoys the hell out of everyone else, because if she makes you a mixtape you're basically playing Russian roulette. Is the next track going to be Opeth or opera? Tonic or tonal dissonance? She definitely doesn't think any of the guys listen to enough women, and does her damnedest to broaden their horizons. She likes Skunk Anansie, Bikini Kill, Garbage, The Raincoats, Liz Phair, Meredith Brooks, and above all Courtney Love. She and Sal both love Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger, and sing it really loudly in the car, much to poor Larry's chagrin. (He secretly thinks it's cute and it makes him happy, but he has to put up a fuss because God, Harvey Danger? Really?)
- Todd likes Dream Theater entirely too much. He's also into math rock (stereotyping, sorry), particularly Ent. He also really enjoys a lot of radio alt like Sal. He doesn't have to like a song to memorize it, because his memory is excellent, so he generally chimes in on the Flagpole Sitta car jam just because he can and it's there. He knows a lot of older music because his parents like to put their dusty old records on and dance when they get high, which is why he adores David Bowie. Also unrelated but years down the road I can see Todd coding everyone's MySpaces and making them look incredible because he's the only one who actually knows how to code.
- Neil is a lot like Ash but he likes pretty much everything, which is a big difference that basically cuts out all the truly weird stuff and any country not written by Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, or Reba McEntire. He really likes listening to things Maple recommends because it's really emotional and he's a sweet feelings baby.
- Sweet angel baby Chug loves anything heavy. For being such a scaredy cat, he really does like bands with terrifying cover art and vaguely scary looking musicians. Ash thinks this is hilarious, but doesn't say anything because she doesn't want to hurt Chug's feelings. His favorite band is Sepultura.
- Maple thinks liking the Cocteau Twins is a personality trait. She also really likes Gene Loves Jezebel. She has a venomous hate for NIN and complains loudly any time anyone even brings them up.
- I feel like a poseur even trying to take a stab at what Larry listens to. Definitely Master's Hammer, because Ritual is super atmospheric and still suitably heavy. And everybody likes Mayhem, right? But mostly Sanity's Fall. He knows his shit but sticks to what he likes, and prefers smaller bands and local bands, very "support your local scene and punch your local nazi."

The Post-Eurovision ranking and comments from an American that nobody asked for:
1. Switzerland 🇨🇭 Gjon’s Tears - Tout l’univers: I absolutely was enamored by this song, its artistry, and the artist. He can really sing and one of my early favorites from this year. So happy for him to get in the top 3 bc it was well deserved. 100/10
2. Italy 🇮🇹 Måneskin - Zitti e Buoni: Deserved winners. As queer as you can get and I am here for it. Another early favorite of mine constantly fighting with Switzerland for the top spot. 100/10
3. Iceland 🇮🇸 Dadi og Gagnamagnid - 10 Years: A beautiful song dedicated to his wife and deserved Top 5 for sure. Last year’s song would have won hands down so I’m bummed he couldn’t win the first one for Iceland but brilliant song and I hope the group stays together to produce more music. 99/10
4. Bulgaria 🇧🇬 Victoria - Growing Up Is Getting Old: Eurovision fandom will forever say Imaginary Friend or Ugly Cry was the better song to send, but I don’t think they would have won the contest either. This year was strong, and I personally think Growing Up was a perfect choice from Victoria. It deserved top 10 so I was pissed that it came 11th on the night and received so few televotes. 97/10
5. Ukraine 🇺🇦 Go_A - SHUM: To all y’all who said this wouldn’t qualify when the new version came out, eat those words hun. This was a masterpiece, and the live performances just elevated it further. Honestly, Kateryna could step on me, and I would let her. Who doesn’t love an ethnic modern fusion rave? 95/10
6. Serbia 🇷🇸 Hurricane - Loco Loco: I honestly have to say when it came out, it was never breaking my top 20, but here we are. This group of gals is amazing. The choreo, hairography, and the still great vocals won my gay ass over. They served and deserved top 10 in my eye. 90/10
7. Greece 🇬🇷 Stefania - Last Dance: Much like Serbia, I kinda dismissed this as a top 10 song at first, but after many listens and then the live shows, it was one of the best songs this year. Last year’s song was nowhere near a qualifier for me, and then I thought they had a good chance of being top 5 this year. Amazing improvement and can’t wait to see what comes next from Stefania. 80/10
8. Malta 🇲🇹 Destiny - Je me casse: Not going to lie, the studio definitely did more for me. It was up with Italy and Switzerland for winner contention until the live shows. Don’t get me wrong, Destiny is still amazing live, and the song is a deserved top 5 song. However, the costume and staging just really didn’t add to the song and I think detracted a bit. Her song last year was also much better in my opinion. 75/10
9. San Marino 🇸🇲 Senhit ft Flo Rida - Adrenalina: Oh boy this was a party, and the fact Flo Rida actually was there made it even better. The staging and costuming was absolutely camp, and I was here for it. This was definitely not underrated by fans beforehand, but the jury and televote were beyond robberies in my opinion. Granted I know the backing vocals were carrying the chorus a lot so in terms of vocals, I can see where this song got dinged, but this should have been San Marino’s best ever result at Eurovision, and it wasn’t so I’m mad. 60/10
10. France 🇫🇷 Barbara Pravi - Voila: The new Edith Piaf and probably one of the most representative of the country’s culture for a song. A definite deserved runner up on the night but for me 10th place. I loved the staging, the costume, the emotions. It was all right for Eurovision and me. 50/10
11. Cyprus 🇨🇾 Elena Tsingarou - El Diablo: Come through Cyprus with another female pop banger. I’d say if the formula ain’t broke don’t fix it, but wasn’t really enough to crack top 10 this year. Another early favorite of mine this year but soon got eclipsed. Still going to be listening to El Diablo for a while. 49/10
12. Russia 🇷🇺 Manizha - Russian Woman: I can’t lie that at first, this song was absolutely trash to me but quickly rose the ranks and became one of my faves. Same thing happened last year with Uno. We also always love a good female empowerment moment with the native language thrown in. Manizha is a girlboss without the gaslighting and a true queen. Deserved top 10 the night of. 40/10
13. Lithuania 🇱🇹 The Roop - Discoteque: An earworm for first listen and was top 10 for a while for me but like Cyprus, lost out to some others. No doubt this is a deserved top 10 the night of. 35/10
14. Croatia 🇭🇷 Albina - Tick Tock: The first song to get me pressed on it’s placement. Deserved to be in the final over both Israel and Norway (please come for me I don’t care). They freakin rocked that stage during the semis and the song is absolutely a bop. Albina deserved better. 30/10
15. Sweden 🇸🇪 Tusse - Voices: A beautiful song by an amazing artist. Sure the lyrics were a bit cliche Eurovision but guess what...it’s Eurovision. I can hear the voices. Keep carrying on Tusse. 25/10
16. Albania 🇦🇱 Anxehla Peristeri - Karma: This song grew on me a lot. I liked it but wasn’t a don’t skip for a while on my playlist. The live performance changed it for me. She slayed and the staging was everything for Miss Thing. Also native language brownie points. 24/10
17. Finland 🇫🇮 Blind Channel - Darkside: Before you come for me for having this at 17th, keep reading. I’m not a big fan of the lyrics but the song is absolutely fantastic. This style of music isn’t something I pull out on a playlist often, but I had my middle fingers up for this one (and pointed at Germany but we’ll discuss later). Deserved top 10 as they rocked it on stage. 20/10
18. The Netherlands 🇳🇱 Jeangu Macrooy - Birth of a New Age: I absolutely do not understand the hate for this song. I was also a huge fan of Grow last year so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised for being generally alone again. The fact it got 0 points in the televote and only 11 in the jury is not surprising but extremely disappointing to me. This song is a masterpiece much like the ones ranked above it. Jeangu, you are amazing and deserved so much better than this. 20/10
19. Belgium 🇧🇪 Hooverphonic - The Wrong Place: Fantastic song but fantastic artists. Always here for a dark pop moment. Gonna go get my own Johnny Cash T-shirt. 15/10
20. Spain 🇪🇸 Blas Cantó - Voy a Quedarme: Such a heartfelt ballad. I enjoyed it quite a bit and don’t understand the hate it has. Didn’t deserve 0 points in the televote. 14/10
21. Denmark 🇩🇰 Fyr og Flamme - Øve Os På Hinanden: Look we all know this song is cheesy but it’s the cheesiest Velveeta queso loco so it’s ranked so high in my opinion. This is a nod to the whacky and weird Eurovision I love. It’s always in my head and I always find myself dancing along. Deserved to be in the final over two of the songs in Semi 2. 13/10
22. Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 Efendi - Mata Hari: As far as the song goes, it’s enjoyable, but the stage show was a hot mess in my opinion. The choreo looked a mess and the different sheer legging configurations on the backup dancers was not the correct fashion choice in my opinion as I was distracted by the thought of why are they all different. Did deserve their spot in the final though. 12/10
23. Moldova 🇲🇩 Natalia Gordienko - Sugar: The studio version of this song is a heavily replayed one on my playlist bc of the drop and dance-ability of the song. However the downfall of the song was it’s live performance. The staging was fine and the choreo was great but those attempted sexy whisper vocals were not the choice to go with. I don’t want to sugar-coat this 😝 so they were terrible. Glad she made it but I felt her position in the final was one of just pure luck. 11/10
24. UK 🇬🇧 James Newman - Embers: The nul points was a huge ass oof. This song isn’t bad but I can see where people didn’t vote for it bc it’s not super memorable in terms of who all was participating this year. I like the song and always sing and dance along. 10/10
25. Israel 🇮🇱 Eden Alene - Set Me Free: This is how to do a revamp and be successful. Eden is a fantastic artist who can clearly sing, but the live performance was not all that sans the whistle tones. Yet the whistle tones aside, the song is lacking a lot. When looking back at the songs available, this one should not have been the selected one. I was always on the fence with this one and still am. 9.5/10
26. Czechia 🇨🇿 Benny Cristo - Omaga: The live definitely hurt this song in the first minute and a half. The second half was absolutely what should have happened in terms of vocals. Still like the song and listen to it often. 9.25/10
27. Ireland 🇮🇪 Leslie Roy - Maps: This song was a victim of a super strong bloodbath and shoddy staging ideas. The song is arresting and a bop. Leslie’s gruff voice mixed with the modernized Irish sounds is a match made. The staging of this song that required Leslie to run along with the beat and the distracting and constantly changing bits of the performance we’re definitely it’s downfall. It didn’t deserve last place in Semi 1 though. 9.25/10
28. Portugal 🇵🇹 The Black Mamba - Love Is On My Side: I am the first to admit that while I don’t like the song, it deserved the final. The staging and atmosphere elevated the song. 9/10
29. Austria 🇦🇹 Vincent Bueno - Amen: In the battle of the Amens, this one wins solely based on the classy and amazing staging. Don’t get me wrong, Slovenia’s was also elevating but this one did it better. 8.5/10
30. Australia 🇦🇺 Montaigne - Technicolor: This song is a fantastic one for studio. The live since the Sydney Mardi Gras performance has been rough and didn’t necessarily improve. I feel bad bc I do really love this song but it definitely didn’t deserve to qualify. This being said, I love Montaigne, and Don’t Break Me was my runner up last year, and I still listen to it as my anthem when I’m feeling down. I wish I could rank this higher but I can’t. 8.5/10
31. Romania 🇷🇴 Roxen - Amnesia: This song is great in the studio but it got old real fast for me and I don’t know why. This mixed with the poor vocals and the bizarre costume:stage combo was really what did this in and got this low in my ranking. 8.25/10
32. Slovenia 🇸🇮 Ana Soklic - Amen: The loser of the Amen battle, but just barely. The song and vocals are better in my opinion but the whole package was just barely edged out in the end. 8/10
33. Latvia 🇱🇻 Samanta Tīna - Moon Is Rising: Look, this song is nowhere near as good as last years. The queeeeeen sashayed away with that annoying trap beat. 8/10
34. North Macedonia 🇲🇰 Vasil - Here I Stand: Leave it to the gays for bringing musical theatre to Eurovision. The song honestly isn’t that special or memorable but he’s higher up bc his stage and voice are amazing. 7/10
35. Norway 🇳🇴 Tix - Fallen Angel: A great message on mental health outside of the song and Tix seems like a quality fella but I do not like the song. I preferred it in Norwegian. And this low ranking is not at all influenced over him beating out Keiino (but maybe a slight bit tho). 5/10
36. Estonia 🇪🇪 Uku Suviste - The Lucky One: While this was 1000% better than last years entry, it still was relatively boring. The stage was equally as boring so sorry Estonia, but you didn’t make the mark. 4.5/10
37. Poland 🇵🇱 Rafael - The Ride: This throwback to the 80s was a bad one. The attempt at a one hit wonder vibe really hurt it along with the artist’s terrible vocals. Also half the time, he was behind the pyro and relying on backup vocals. 4/10
38. Georgia 🇬🇪 Tornike Kipiani - You: You really should not have to wait so long for the more upbeat rock ending of this. If it was that last 30 seconds for 3 minutes, it would be much better. A definite step back from last year. 1/10
39. Germany 🇩🇪 Jendrick - I Don’t Feel Hate: Jendrick might not feel hate but I do bc that is all I feel when this song comes on. 0.5/10

Strengths: Trustworthy, strong, courageous, calm under pressure, compassionate, thorough, clever, good intuition, self-sufficient, sure of herself
Weaknesses: Petty, caustic, distrustful, secretive, lackadaisical, insubordinate, emotionally unintelligent, can be disdainful, uncommunicative, contrary
Personal:
overall body language is casual and unbothered, lowkey her posture is kind of yikes RIP but she has a very fluid way of moving
her voice is smooth and somewhat low in pitch, very even in tone
Loud and/or jumbled sounds sometimes overwhelm her; she usually has noise cancelling headphones with her just in case
Rebellious as a teenager; she started skipping school and getting into fights, did some graffiti and one time she stole a street sign that she may or may not still have
When she wasn’t breaking rules, etc. she was taking boxing lessons, chilling in the library, going on runs, or playing bass guitar in her band
Wanted to get out of Wayhaven as soon as possible after college but was arrested after she came back because she was selling fake IDs and stole a car; absolutely did not want to be law enforcement but Rebecca and the captain essentially made her
The deal was that she would work at the station for 5 years and if she did well/stayed out of trouble she could then quit- she's 3 years into it
deep down if she wasnt a detective she would want to be a paramedic
She shares a lot of mannerisms with Rebecca and they’re way more similar than she’d like to admit
Birds FREAK her out seriously; she’ll deny that she’s afraid of them but she’ll cross the street to get away from them, also hates crowded places and deep water
Scary resting face and has a habit of just... eerily staring at people who are bothering her until they get spooked, but she's not actually that angry or grouchy, she's really just Vibing u know? she's not gonna correct anyone's impression though or they might start like... Talking to her :/
Loves any book/movie/show with a secret society or spy element and stories about a Hero and their Journey, also loves angsty philosophy books; her favorite movies are cheesy but feel-good (The Mummy, Pacific Rim, anything with big CGI monsters)
Doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth but would kill someone for strong coffee; if she’s really tired you can catch her drinking it cold straight from the pot with a straw
Emo/pop punk teen and she definitely cried when MCR broke up, she also listens to a lot of Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash, Dottie West, Patsy Cline, etc
She’s been drawing since she was a kid- mainly works with charcoal and sometimes pastels. her sketchbooks are like her diaries and she’s never shown them to Anyone Ever
In her spare time, she still plays some guitar, draws, or reads; her library is extensive because she keeps every book she’s ever read or intends to read (it’s one of the few things she’ll drop real money on)
Very tactile person and fussy about textures, she prefers ultra soft blankets/pillows and her bed is basically a nest
Practical, efficient, frugal- she doesn’t necessarily find joy in cooking or anything but she can do it well enough, quick showers, uses cheap soap/shampoo, cuts her own hair
Her hands get super dry/chapped in the winter and it hurts very much :(
Never yells; when she gets angry she’s very cold & will Not hold back; every word is designed to hurt bc she’s purposefully poking at things she knows are sore spots
At the start of the books, she’s kind of... sleepwalking through life? like, she was in a not-great place mentally for most of her teens and didn’t really have a plan for the future but law enforcement was definitely not it? She isn’t feeling super passionate about what she’s doing and it kind of sucks to not have joy in purpose :( luckily that’s changing and is gonna be a significant part of her journey through the series!
Her apartment is cluttered but clean and she knows where everything is, if someone moved one of her things she would not be able to find it and it would bother her until she located it
She’s not stubborn exactly? Like she’ll concede an argument if it’s not super important to her and has no problem with losing or backing down in many cases; she’s pretty open minded in that respect, but if something is central to her values then she will Die before she backs down
On that note she’s overall a very logical person but when it comes down to it she'll follow her heart/first instinct
Does not care about rules or procedures At All, she'll follow them if it suits her end goal but otherwise... nope
Lowkey she… did not care about the reveal? it was a surprise but not her first priority in the moment- she kind of already thought UB was sketchy and didn’t trust them, so mainly she was pissed off that Rebecca had sent them to babysit her instead of actually help solve the murders
Speaking of Rebecca their relationship is kind of yikes. Kira isn’t exactly mad that Rebecca was gone so often, but she does think that she kind of forfeited her parenting rights and was annoyed that Rebecca was interfering with her life; first by getting her on the force and then by dropping UB on her. So now it’s Very Awkward between them because Kira doesn’t want to be like… mean but honestly what is there to say?? They’re trying but neither of them like to share personal information so it’s rough
On the subject of sharing, she just… genuinely doesn’t like to open up. Like, it doesn’t come naturally and in her mind it’s just… nobody else’s business what she’s feeling/what’s going on in her life
Genuinely does not realize that people care about her unless they openly tell her lmao... sad hours but at this point in the story she honestly doesnt think that any of UB cares abt her beyond their job besides the one she's dating :(
"Everyone should be allowed to feel things and rely on the support of the people around them, their emotions are Valid. not me though, this is my personal problem and as such its dumb so i have to get over it alone"
Her primary love language is acts of service, she wants the people she loves to have everything they might need; she’s Soft and really just wants snuggles but also she does not want to address it out loud
Her way of asking for affection is to just... stand/sit there and occasionally glance at the person... hovers like a sad ghost until she gets a hug... literally like 🥺👉👈 sjdhdkn Clown girl
She’s sarcastic and makes a lot of snarky comments, but generally she’s pretty honest unless she doesn’t want to talk about something (in which case she’ll brush it off and deflect or change subjects) which is why it annoys her so much when people are willfully dishonest or conniving
Pretty adaptable and capable of rolling with the punches but she generally dislikes surprises and being the center of attention
genuinely she's pretty chill! and a Huge enabler of chaos as well, like unless it's specifically bothering her she's gonna let it happen and mostly she thinks it's pretty funny to watch from the sidelines
in short she's basically like a feral cat who stares suspiciously at everyone from a distance until they successfully pspspsps their way into her heart and then she would die for them <3 but if she's mad she will make direct eye contact while shoving glasses off the counter
ahdgsksg ok last one i swear she Cannot Sit Properly, always has to be some flavor of lounging or leaning or sitting twisted into a pretzel
#my eternal love for u if u made it thru this whole post <3#lowkey these are gonna double as my writing notes which are currently scattered between 5 million notes on my phone#ANYWAY#twc

I trust your taste in music so I'd like to ask you for headcanons of what the following haikyuu!! characters would enjoy listening to: Kuroo, Daichi, Suga, Akaashi, Iwa, Bokuto, Semi, Kiyoko, Yachi, Lev, Shirabu, Aone, Futakuchi, Tsukki. (just the genres please) Thanks Kayla! Sorry if it's too much work!
hi anon! thank you so much for the request! it was the first thing i saw when i woke up this morning & just had to get it out bc i had so many thoughts on it? also please don’t apologize! it was so much fun to write! i’m sorry i didn’t include semi or lev or shirabu, i’m not comfortable with their characters enough at this point, but i hope you enjoy the rest!
note: i did add some links of songs i think fit the genre & that they would listen to!
daichi
okay i see daichi as having pretty standard music taste
i don’t wanna say he’s basic? (but he’s kinda basic)
but that’s not a bad thing! he likes bops that bop, pretty catchy music that’s universally agreed upon to be good
he listens to the radio a lot, but i also see him as having playlists for very specific *activities* (not moods, which is how i make my playlists)
for example, daichi has a driving playlist, workout playlist, running playlist, practice playlist, etc
his GUILTY PLEASURE music however, is oldies country
like john denver & johnny cash type of vibes
he can often be heard singing “ring of fire” under his breath when he’s focusing
he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it?
the songs just give him a sense of comfort and familiarity
(plus they kinda bop???)
kuroo
ok this man has a really versatile music library
it ranges from sweet pop to heavy metal and pretty rarely does he listen to anything in between
he does use lofi music when he’s working on homework or studying because he feels like it puts him in the zone
definitely has playlists with meme based names like “pikachu face”
suga
ok i see suga as having somewhat similar music taste to mine (i have no good reason for thinking this, it’s just kind of the vibe i get)
he likes to listen to pretty much anything?
but he draws the line at like SUPER screamo metal
he just cannot enjoy it
but his favorite genre is probably indie and bedroom pop vibes
i’m imagining the paper kites but with troye sivan thrown in, something like this
akaashi
this man has impeccable music taste i don’t know what to tell you
it’s too advanced for me to speak to honestly
i see him listening to a lot of lofi sort of music, especially when he’s studying
but when he’s editing or writing? straight up instrumental
but not in the classical music sense?
this man is rocking out to some truly amazing soundtracks as he works
his favorite composers include: john powell and hans zimmer (think how to train your dragon and the lord of the rings. oh and jurassic park)
but if he’s just kind of hanging and vibing out, he likes soft folky music
iwa
idk why but this was a tough one
but i see iwa as listening to classic rock
it not only pumps him up but it can also be really heartfelt and emotional?
i think that balance suits him really well, it provides versatility within one genre that’s pretty easy for him to access
like imagine him rocking out to cold hard bitch but then also loving november rain?
he has the range
bokuto
bokuto is ALL OVER THE PLACE
this man knows every song in the top 40 one one week and then the next has no clue what any of the songs his teammates suggest are
he can appreciate anything, from classical music to rap (the former does not hold his attention well, but he can appreciate it)
he listens constantly to beachy music as his general vibe because it makes him happy and calm, like this and this
but if he’s getting hyped up for a game he listens to heavy metal (he and kuroo have a shared playlist that they add to together)
he’s very receptive to music suggestions, and if someone gives him one he’ll listen carefully all the way through
the kind of guy to have playlists based on all of his friends with music suggestions from them
kiyoko
like suga i also see kiyoko as the bedroom pop type
she can relax to it, get work done to it, and likes to support lesser known artists
BUT we stan a versatile queen
she also loves the kind of music that makes you want to climb on a motorcycle and get out of town, like this
yachi
this sweet angel listens to what i like to call “twinkle lights and light pink” music
i do not have another word for it, i’m sure there’s a name for the genre, but idk what it is
it’s soft and light and very sweet
she likes to listen to it in the mornings when she’s getting ready and finds it calms her and puts her in the right mindset for the day
i also see her enjoying pop music, top 40s sort of catchy beats
aone
this man listens to calming music 24/7
people are always surprised bc they expect some sort of loud angry music just based on appearance alone, but aone really loves the way that calming lofi and acoustic music makes him feel
i also see him enjoying country music
futakuchi
this man screams 2000s alternative music to me
idk why
he is rocking out to like stacy’s mom, flavor of the week kinda vibes
he also listens to hip hop occasionally, but it’s not the majority
tsukki
ok i strongly feel like tsukki’s taste in music is kinda,, basic??
not in a bad way, but he definitely tries to make it seem like he’s the kind of guy who listens to,,, underground really obscure artists when he’s really listening to whatever taylor swift or ariana grande just put out (the one i linked is a BOP)
also listens to podcasts 100% unironically
his favorites are the true crime ones but he’ll also listen to music history
omg i forgot to add my faves 🥰(also taglist): @oyakags @cosmictooru @over5feettall @kaidasen @achoohq
#anon asks#music taste hcs#this was so interesting#like ok there is a REASON TSUKKI IS ALWAYS WEARING HEADPHONES#its bc hes listening to the description of someone being murdered#either that or like taylor swift#sorry i keep dragging her im just not a fan of her new stuff#PLEASE give me old country daichi#metal head kuroo#but also soft kuroo#beach boy bokuto!!!#also shoutout to strawbirb for inspiring me w bokuto 🥰#tysm for the rec!!#janellion writes#janellion playlists#HQ!!#haikyuu hcs#haikyuu!! hcs#daichi hc#suga hc#kuroo hc#kiyoko hc#yachi hc#aone hc#iwa hc#futakuchi hc#akaashi hc#bokuto hc#tsukki hcs

Favorite solo artists: Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash, Anthony Green, Arianna Grande, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Natalie Maines, Patrick Stump, Ofra Haza, Ella Fitzgerald, Rihanna, these are just the ones off the top of my head at the moment, I feel like I'm really disrespectfully forgetting someone important idk. Fifteen years ago I would have said Hilary Duff and Avril Lavigne probably
Last show you binged: Currently rewatching That 70s Show like six episodes at a time. Before that, the first six seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race honestly and I don't regret a single second of it. Before that, Hamilton. Before that it was Les Mis before that it was Rent and before that it was Mad Men. I think the Office should be in there somewhere too
When you created your blog: I think 2010
Last thing you googled: "tinker bell movies in order" I really needed to know
Other blogs: haha many
Why I chose my URL: bc Fall Out Boy lyrics with like a billion meanings (one thing I love) also what a great bridge (two things I love) also I'm wearing blue so theres one more meaning AND my shirt is a fall out boy album but not the one the lyrics are on isn't that ironic (three things I love)

Lucky number: Idk I wouldn't know how to decide
Instruments: Currently, none, I walk around my house and sing all day like fucking snow white honestly. In the past though, most. Except horns/brass/woodwind never did any of those.
Currently wearing: Black leggings and a very large black hoodie no this was not intended it happens a lot though. Also socks with Stitch on them
Dream trip: ugh idk everywhere. Every time my laptop shows me a new pretty picture on my login screen I wanna go. Super old castles and towns in Europe. France for the food. Somewhere tropical with white sand and clear water. Somewhere snowy with mountains where you can see the northern lights. Literally any of the national parks.
Favourite food: Potatoes all day baby any way shape or form okay but also cheese. Also fruit just fruit in general fuck yeah. Favorite meat though, lamb shawarma oh my god. Favorite snack, yogurt with grape nuts chocolate chips and banana/strawberry chunks I can't remember the last day I didn't have this tbh
Favourite song: How to answer this one hmm well every time I have my whole spotify library on shuffle and something pops up that I think "this is it this is my favorite song" I add it to a playlist and that playlist is twelve hours long so
Top 3 fictional universes to live in: Harry Potter or Bag End or Under the Sea yes as in the Little Mermaid. That crab really sold it
I have nobody to tag on here its real tragic, so if you've bothered to read this far into my pile of nonsense then I'd be happy to know more about you

If you are still doing ship requests, can I get a generation kill one? I'm a 5'3 girl that is kinda chubby but fit. I have a love of sarcasm and I am definitely one to want to be in the military. Either Marines or Navy. I have glasses and I love music. I have medium length brown hair and big brown eyes. I am pretty much quiet, though around my closest friends I am quite the handful. I'm very caring and I care a lot about people. But I can be real mean if I half to be. Thank you❤
Walt Hasser
of course i can!
General
i think you and Walt have a lot in common
you have that type of relationship where you don’t always need to talk about how the other is feeling, you just kinda know
telepathy at it’s finest
you’re one of the few people that can actually make Walt laugh
and i’m talking like fully belly laughing so hard you cry laughter, not little giggles (it’s pretty much only you and Ray that can make him laugh like that)
walt would support you no matter which military branch you choose, but he secretly hopes you’ll chose to be a marine just so he can see you more often
if you don’t like country music, good luck sweetie lmfao
nah he’d let you blast whatever the hell you wanted to listen to in his truck, even if you sang obnoxiously like Ray and it was a song he hated with all of his being
i refuse to believe that Walt doesn’t own a beat up pickup truck so don’t even try and change my mind
he likes that there’s more to you than just your outer personality, it’s something that never fails to keep him interested in you
this man needs a lot of caring done for him so you better do it because he sure as hell will not
Walt is the type of person to take care of everyone else before himself, so make sure that he prioritizes himself every once in a while
a warm bath, a hot meal, or just some good old cuddles will do the trick (you must be the big spoon or let him lay on you though sorry i don’t make the rules)
he’s very stubborn when it comes to actually taking care of himself though, so you might need to be a little mean about it
he loves it when you run your fingers through his hair, so just do that and he’ll relax
he really likes the length of your hair
when he gets bored he braids it
he’s secretly practicing for your future daughter, but don’t tell him that i told you that 👀
i don’t think he minds that you can be a bit of a handful... if you’re gonna be a mess then you’re gonna be his mess
he always helps you find your glasses when you lose them
Walt isn’t super affectionate all the time, but he is very much like a koala behind closed doors
he just really enjoys hugging or touching you in some way
he really likes to wake up in the morning to you making coffee or breakfast because then he can wrap his arms around your waist and rest his head on top of yours
he does that a lot.... idk why
he softly sings you johnny cash while you cuddle in bed, you can practically recite every single one of the man’s songs by now
how you two met
you two met through the marine corps
he didn’t know you before Kuwait, but he was very confused when he met you
let me explain why
it’s not everyday that you see an angry 5’3” female marine go off on the infamous Iceman
it was a cultural reset to say the least
because no one, and I mean NO ONE has the BALLS TO DO THAT
i’m pretty sure every single marine, including the officers, would rather saw off their left nuts and let a Hajji kill them before they did that
so needless to say, when Walt saw you stomp up to his team leader and scream in his face about how he fucked up your Humvee, it was love at first sight
he was bewitched by the firecracker energy you have
the man followed you around like a lost puppy
he couldn’t help it, he just found you incredibly fascinating
especially when he learned that you usually didn’t talk much
Brad must have really fucked up your Humvee then
one day, he actually had the balls to approach you
you were sitting on the hot sand, crouched down to replace a tire on the Humvee
suddenly, just as soon as he gathered the courage to walk up, he froze
what would he even say? how could he start a conversation without making it awkward? what if he messed up and you hated him
you broke the silence
“are you just gonna stand there and stare at me like a creep or are you gonna say something?”
he just blinked, staring into your eyes
“can you teach me how to replace the Humvee tires?”
Walt was mentally abusing himself after that
WHAT KIND OF MARINE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO REPLACE THE HUMVEE TIRES????
luckily though, you just chuckled and decided to humor him
“sure.”
i’m so sorry this took so long, but I hope you enjoyed it! I think you’d be a fantastic addition to the military, you should enlist! Have a fantastic day! 💕
~ ky
