Also I'm going to write this in a Hell's Kitchen situation and the mercs are there.

The mercs with a S/o who is a competitive chef

Scout

Scout thought "What's the big deal?", before he actually saw what it meant to be a competitive chef.

He can't help but watch his S/o quickly moving through the food stations like it's nothing.

If anyone insults his S/o and he tries to defend them, most likely the other person arguing would make Scout return to his seat in silence..

But before that he hops over the counter and 'helps' his S/o.

Soldier

Is honestly a big fan of all the shouting and every dish being made as well as possible.

It's all fun and games until someone shouts at Soldier's S/o for screwing up.

Soldier immediately defends his S/o, shouting back at them to the point where they're both red-faced.

Security escorts Soldier and his S/o stays quiet.

When it comes to the actual food, he finds out which station his S/o is on and only orders from them.

Pyro

Just..stands there by the counter, watching their S/o.

Others would make a remark about their outer appearence, only for Pyro to stare into their soul.

S/o would have to shoo them away, so they don't disturb them.

And if Pyro hears someone praise S/o, the'll get S/o's attention and give them a sticker :)

Demoman

He would be the one who openly encourages and cheers on his S/o and helps them by shouting, for example, what should be taken off the heat, so it doesn't burn.

And if the others call this out, he will put on a strong scottish accent, defending his S/o.

His scottish rage towards the other contestants helps his S/o with dealing with them.

Engineer

Oh this poor man..

He's honestly worried for his S/o during the competition and afterwards he constantly asks them, if they're alright with being yelled at.

His S/o assures him that they're fine and it's completely normal and that they yell at others too, since it's all done to improve the chefs.

He might improve their equipment in secret, so their dishes are better. He just doesn't want his S/o to feel pressured.

Heavy

He knows he's a big man and would just be in the way of everything if he did what his S/o's great at.

He admires their agility and coordination skills. But he doesn't like others shouting at his S/o that's for sure.

Heavy feels the need to make sure the other contestants know that he's in a relationship with his S/o and intimidating them, so they don't try anything stupid.

Medic

He's a mix between Demo's supportiveness and Soldier's defensiveness.

He openly supports his S/o and at the same time, threaten anyone who insults his S/o. So, his partner isn't even surprised when a rival of theirs goes missing.

Might encourage his S/o to cheat and use drugs to boost their productivity during the competition. (I kinda imagine Medic to have sketchy drugs in his lab lol)

Sniper

Honestly, Sniper went in and watched his S/o, not knowing what to expect.

Only for the orders to start piling up and everyone getting angry.

Sniper then realizes how coordinated his S/o needs to be to cook a single dish and how they need to handle brutal insults said to their face.

He knows that he would crumble under the pressure, so he devellops a sort of respect for his S/o, especially after they spew out insults as well.

Overall very supportive and doesn't disturb his S/o.

Spy

He just might secretly sabotage anyone who's against his S/o.

And later his S/o might scold him for it because they want to play fairly and actually improve.

Spy, eventually, obliges and doesn't do anything shady.

He never misses a time when his S/o is in a competition, they might not see him because he's disguised, but he's always somewhere admidst the people.

Ms. Pauling

She actually quite likes the intensity of it all.

Like, this is her everyday, but in a restaurant.

Could actually think of some useful tips for her S/o to improve their performance while watching them compete.

If she has more free time than usual, she and her S/o practice, she sets up a timer while her S/o prepares a meal.

Would also cheer them on like Medic and Demoman.

Bonus!

All mercs would try to teach their S/o new swears, just in different ways.

Pyro would suggest something like: "Oh, biscuits!"

Engie and Heavy would try to "secretly" teach their S/o new swears, as if they're going to get in massive trouble.

And the mercs that are not american would teach unique swears from their homeland (I'm looking at Sniper and Demo specifically)

• Sometimes his S/O will mindlessly doodle in their mini sketch book during breaks, Dell catches glimpses of them, his heart often feeling full seeing such cute doodles they do.

• One time he caught them drawing him… a lot of doodles of him. Feeling flattered, he posed on a chair nearby, flushing from cheek to ear, he smiles. “I-I can sit and pose here if it makes it easier for you…. For uh, better reference?”

• He's such a supportive sweetheart oh my goodness, leaving his S/O smiling for hours by his sweetness.

• With Dell working late shifts often, and his S/O being tasked elsewhere, different shifts and all - his S/O manages to find the time to sit and do a little doodle or write a little note, dropping it off in his room or workshop depending where they're heading.

• Dell is often surprised to find lots of little notes and drawings around his shop. When he's stuck on ideas or feeling out of it, he unravels the little notes or doodles his S/O drew and wrote, feeling a sense of admiration, loved, so many things.

• Despite the different work shifts his S/O makes time to leave him little surprises? Making sure he feels loved and thought about? Mans is head over heels.

• Dell’s S/O sketches his creations often, which wow Dell’s always impressed by how detailed and accurate it was to the real thing. He thinks their super talented!

• Since dating his S/O he’s stepped out of his comfort zone to draw outside of his work! Not just inventions but other things. Loves drawing cats. is bashful at first sharing his drawings but eventually opens up to sharing to his S/O what he drew for the day.

Spiders

Pairing: Mick "Sniper" Mundy x Fem!Reader

Summary: A hot summer day attracts all types of insects to get into the base, out of the hot sun and humid air. Only to be faced with their death by someone not so keen on them.

Warning: Swearing, the killing of a spider? Ngl this is just something I threw together before I slept. 🤷🏼‍♀️

A/N: Wanted to make this before I write my next Simon Riley fic (thanks to your votes). But this also came from today when I found a little Black Widow Spider in my shoe. Still living in Australia I cannot with any insects. (Also it's canon that Sniper has a feat of Spiders, I was there)

How much longer of this humid sun did you have to go through? At first, you thought that the summer would stay when needed, but no. You've got months ahead of you, knowing you're going to wake up in a pile of slickly unpleasant sweat every day. Even worse is the lousy air conditioning in the base, it's been fixed so many times it runs as low as it can. Just as bad as the air circulation too.

So here you are, slouched over in the main room, the leather seat sticks to your bare skin the second you'd get up. You'd be carrying the whole couch along with you. Scout sits next to you, his loud huffing is getting annoying, and one of his arms is slung on the back of the couch. Just touching your head but you're too into heatstroke to realise he's nearly touching your hair.

Sniper sits next to you too, a chair for himself as he spreads fully out. His usual smirk rests on his face as he casually looks over to the two of you. "Gettin' comfortable 'ere?" Scout slowly looks over at him, a scowl on his face. Usually, he'd fling himself across the room, both hands probably strangling the poor bushman but all he can do is roll his eyes.

"How abou' 'cha Y/N?" A weak smile slowly appears on your face, and you flick him a thumbs up. Only he sees right through your smile. But he nods sharply, flicking his attention to the TV. To him, an interesting documentary on animals hibernating. How different animals do it in different seasons and how bears survive through the cold season catches his attention more than you and Scout combined.

But you're too busy looking over at the small old-fashioned fridge. You begin to wonder how cold it really is in there, usually, the beers don't get nearly as cold enough to drink comfortably but still, that's better than nothing. So gradually you start to get up, the leather breaking apart from your skin makes you cringe but it dies out over the TV.

"Bears can be woken easily during a mild spell of weather, but may not have enough energy to survive the rest of the winter. Which is why-" "AHH!"

Your inarticulate and high-pitched scream easily overpowers the TV, even with its high volume on it's enough to echo throughout the whole base. "Holy- What?" Scout's Boston accent quickly appears behind your terrified figure. Sniper also sprints right behind him to reach you from across the room. Looking over your shoulder to see what's got you shaken up and pointing at.

Expecting to see another head or organ which Medic decided to leave unattended in the fridge or on the kitchen counter. But instead, he only spots a little Black Widow Spider sitting unsettled on the counter. Eating away at the bread crumbs left behind from Heavy's sandvich.

"Kill it, Scout, before it kills us!" You frantically order Scout, only he groans in annoyance. "Jesus Y/N! I thought you found someone fucking dead" Your hands shake his shoulders back and forth quickly. "Well, you're about to find my body if you don't-" Before you can say anything he leaves swiftly. Ignoring your pleas as he tiredly walks back to the couch.

Looking over to Sniper you give him the same look in your eyes, a plead. "Pfft, watch an' learn" You watch as Sniper leans over to the counter more. The movement of his arm quickly alerts the pernicious red spider as it begins to move quickly. A yelp nearly leaves Sniper's mouth as he backs away instantly.

"You're scared?" You ask not out of laughter... well maybe. But more because you generally thought he'd be used to Spiders by now. Living in the outback much mean he's dealt with them thousand times before, right? "Nah'm not." His usual down-to-earth and easygoing face now flashes bright red either from the humid air or is now because you mention his (unknowingly) fear of spiders?

But before you can mutter out a single word he reaches over the counter again, his eyes glued to the Spider chilling there. His whole hand flexed and tense as he quickly snatched a tissue from the box. The sudden sound sends the Spider flying in his direction. It sends him flying backwards, his hands coming out in front of him like he was going to fistfight the insect.

You on the other hand you're now snickering softly, the fear you felt before going away as you watch Sniper unravel in front of you. He quickly catches onto your laughing, a glaring cold look replaces his scared expression as he pushes past you. His shoulders square as he swiftly squishes the spider under the tissue, a gross sound following.

"See, m' not scared of spiders..."

CBS with an S/o who has a kid

It's better for his S/o to tell Christian that they have a kid a bit later into the relationship when they're both sure they can take it further.

Once his S/o does tell him though, he is surprised. He's like: "You're dating me and you have a kid??", but he also really thinks over if he wants to meet their kid because he isn't sure he's ready to be a parental figure.

He realizes the foundation of his relationship of his S/o and him depends on his connection to the life of their child, so he decides it's worth a shot.

When they do meet, the kid might get scared of him and it's up to his S/o to bond them. Christian legit gets stalked by the kid, he catches them looking at him around corners and watching him through nearly closed doors.

If the kid starts to open up and starts hugging him when he shows up at the door, there's a good chance he won't be opened up yet and lifts up his arms when the kid hugs his waist or leg, not wanting to touch them as if they're sick.

His S/o suggests he brings a gift to their kid when he comes over, so they start to trust him. So he does just that, gifting the kid candy, toys and money when they meet. He also starts kneeling down to their level to seem less intimidating.

Eventually, his S/o asks Christian to babysit their kid. He's a mix of a bad babysitter and a cool one. The kid might have to survive on only snacks and cereal but Christian will allow the kid to do things his S/o doesn't allow like jumping on the couch and he will take them anywhere they want to go.

Every once in a while Christian shares a wholesome moment with the kid. Like them playing together, him letting them sit on his shoulders, the kid falling asleep watching cartoons and him carrying them to bed, him telling them stories from his life and the outback, giving them his hat or sunglasses, dropping them off and picking them up from school, y'know all that good stuff.

Gives them nicknames like: little bugger, anklebiter, etc.

If the kid gets bullied then the bully better have a bodyguard because Christian will either take care of the bully himself or teach his S/o's kid to fight.

He might teach the kid to swear though and his S/o would immediately know whose fault it is.
