#i still think lloyd is stronger than jay

Going off my last post about Jay's lightning powers having the potential to be broken, I was looking into what lightning/electricity powers could entail, and I stopped to consider whether that could involve electromagnetism since it is technically involving electricity but ultimately decided against it since that felt like too much of a stretch

But then I looked at the list of lightning abilities on the Ninjago wiki and umm

IS THIS IMPLYING THAT THE MASTERS OF LIGHTNING CAN POTENTIALLY MANIPULATE THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD?

I'm not an expert on this sort of thing but... isn't electromagnetism the second strongest force to exist? Like it's insanely more powerful than the force of gravity and is responsible for a bunch of stuff like light waves/x-rays/gamma rays? Isn't it responsible for electrons binding to protons/neutrons via whatever form of like static electricity?

Ninjago Alternative Universe elemental change with Kai having Water and Nya having Fire powers:

Ok, so before you go hear me out.

#Sibling elemental change

I know it's hard to imagine Kai having water powers instead of fire. It probably would look as if didn't fit him. It's way easier to imagine Nya with Fire element I guess.

But I think it'd be interesting to see his character development with that power. The fact that his character wouldn't fit to his power and Especially adding to this Kai's fear of drowning and the fact that he hates water.

It'd be nice character development to see.

At the begining of the season it'd Kai who was kidnapped by skeletons.

Not because he was weaker than her or something. Kai would probably try to safe his sister and by coocidence got kidnapped instead of her. Just to make sure she was safe he prefered to sacrifice himself.

Nya would train why Master Wu and become a strong ninja of fire to rescue her brother. But also bonded with the other ninjas.

In the meantime she'd also think that Jay's flirting attempts are cute-

Later seasons would also have a big impact on Kai.

Kai was Nya's older brother. He practically raised her. So, the fact that she is a ninja fighting evil and risking her life every day would definitely made a big impact on him.

The fact that Nya is stronger than him, and he cannot protect or help her in any way, would cause frustration, anger, and above all, a sense of helplessness in him.

Kai would try to support the team in any way he could, but the helplessness would still make him feel down and be with him.

From time to time he'd act like a big brother.

He wouldn't like Jay's interest in Nya at first, but later would accept it, since she likes him so much.

There wouldn't be a phase of being a green ninja, because well he isn't a ninja.

Instead Nya would like to become one. Not because of the titel or anything, but becuase it'd mean to be better to improve. Nya wants perfection. She wants to be the best version of herself. So she works very hard to achieve that.

She wouldn't be annoying about becoming the green ninja like Kai- She would work hard to be the best.

In the meantime comes Lloyd.

Kai has way better relationship with him here compared to the cannon.

Suprisingly he isn't irritated by him, but just simply takes care with him. He plays kind of big role for young Lloyd.

Kai is patience with him and tries to teach him and be nice. Maybe it'd somehow remind him of rising his younger sister(?) Kai would spend time with him, shove comfort and some support that he needed and just act like a Big Brother towards him.

Their relationship would be pretty strong.

There would happen at slightly little drama between Kai, Nya & Lloyd. [BUT NOTHING TOO SERIOUS]

Nya would be probably a little annoyed why her brother is so nice towards him. She'd be irrited since Lloyd recently just acted like a brat. (He mostly made pranks like making Zane's costume pink and ect.-) And she doesn't understand Kai's indifference towards it.

But everything would resolve, when Nya safed Lloyd from vulcano and unlocked her true potential.

Bla bla.. to lazy to write next seasons.. But basically Kai would be a big support as a red Samurai, Lloyd's role model and he'd slowly come closer to the other teammates.

He wouldn't be just fire ninjas brother, but feel more like a part of the group.

Then the situation with the ghost would happen.

Sensei Wu would tell him about his Water Powers and that's were everything starts to break.

Kai has to learn how control water.

But the point is that Kai hates water.

Kai can't swim, is afraid of drowning and basicly is aquafobic-

This is the time where he has to overcome his fear to safe everyone.

This is the time when everything that he belived turned into a lie. That%'s the time when his life turned upside down and just everything is a mess.

He tries to deny it. He doesn't belive in it. He hates it.

He hates water.

But in the end he begins his training, because the life of the loved one's is WAY more important.

He starts training with master Wu. Nothing goes well, because of his character that is a completely opposite to this power.

Moreover he got a few panic attacts while being in the deep water that doesn't end well.

Kai hates this power. He doens't accept it as his. He doesn't accept it being part of him. He's basically forced to learn it because of the situation and persuading the master.

But in the end his able to overcome it.

By the talk with someone he's able to see the source of his fear. He finally sees the beauty of his power.

He takes a deep breath and immerses himself in the water, clearing his mind and he's calm.

He's part of the water and water is part of him.

Kai accepts this part of him and is able to control it.

Absolutely I hope that I've demonstrated the true potential of this idea, and how it could indeed turn into something really cool.

AND I HAVEN'T EVEN CAME TO THE SEABOUND PART-

But seriously I hope that someone will notice it. A nice fic could come from it.

I also really tired not to add and lavashipping ideas here, because it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it could have been here something.

I don't know if I will ever write this or not. It's really hard to tell.

But if anyone wants to write this or something simliar to it then go on. I don't see a problem. The more us the better!

Whispers of the night -Lloyd Garmadon x F!reader

This is a PT 2, here is part 1

Y/n was mindlessly skateboarding trough the streets, listening to the music blasting trough her headphones while silently humming along.

It was night time, not many people roamed the streets anymore, and they especially stayed away from fighting notices coming from an alleyway.

Not Y/n though, she didn’t hear a thing as she put the sound of her music up.

Suddenly she was ripped from her skateboard and a hand was pressed against her mouth, she felt something sharp against her neck.

Her eyes widened at the sight in front of her.

“Nice haul.” Kai called out to the five men that had just robbed a jewellery store, leaving the owner fatally injured. Zane was currently with him waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

“Yet, I think it abetted if you hand that back to us.” Kai’s voice had a threat laying beneath it and one of the robbers huffed. “And how do you intend to stop us?” He took a step forward with confidence.

Lloyd couldn’t help but smirk beneath his mask. Once again some simple robbers underestimating them.

“Let’s make a deal,” Cole jumped down the wall that was the end of the alleyway. “You hand is that sack, and maybe you will get away with this without broken bones.” He said.

“Sure, why don’t we make a deal,” the man, that was obviously their leader, stepped forward. “You let us go, and we won’t hurt one of your beloved citizens.” He grinned and the ninja shared unamused looks.

“That seems like a nice deal, of course, but uh, I think you are missing a part of your plan.” Jay said matter of factly.

“Oh, right,” the leader smirked. “Kano,” he looked back, and the biggest of the group smirked.

As if it was fate, someone just came by the alley and she was ripped of her skateboard by ‘Kano’ and another of the men pressed a knife against her neck.

The five Ninja recognised the girl immediately as the one that had given Lloyd her number. She looked up and her eyes widened when she saw the Ninja.

Great, of course she’d land herself in such a situation. She was obviously not going to tell her mother who’d get mad at her for sneaking out and she’d definitely get an ‘I told you so.’

“Alright, let the girl go.” The black ninja spoke. “And why would we do that?” One of her captors spoke.

“Out of the goodness of your heart?” The blue ninja tried making the others glare at him and Y/n rolled her eyes at the comment.

Couldn’t they get this over with? She was actually rather cold and still needed to go to school tomorrow.

She’d free herself, but the man holding her was way stronger than her so she didn’t bother. Not like her illusions would help in a situation like this too.

“Look, just let the girl go, we can handle this without you hurting another citizen,” the green ninja stepped forward, a hand resting in the hilt of his sword.

Oh they hurt another citizen? This situation might be a bit more serious then she expected.

Suddenly the guy that was holding her loosened his grip and she saw this as an opportunity to bit his hand and push the hand holding the knife away.

She wirled around to see the man falling on the floor unconscious, and behind him stood the white Ninja, who was, although the mask, obviously smirking.

The other ninja didn’t waste a second in taking out the others and moments later all of them where unconscious and tied up.

“Are you alright, miss?” The white ninja looked at her as she inspect her wrist that had been held incredibly tight.

“Yeah, I’m fine, rather cold though, so I guess I’d be headed home.” She shrugged and they looked at her in shock.

“You’re not hurt or anything, maybe a bit in shock?” The green ninja stepped forward. “Well, my wrist does hurt but that’ll be fine, I’ve handled worse injuries.” She waved it off.

And stepped out of the alleyway, looking around for her skateboard and cursing to herself when she didn’t see it.

“Here.” She turned around and it seemed the green ninja had already found it as he was holding it out to her. “Do you need Anglicanism to walk you home?” The water ninja asked her with concern and Y/n smiled.

“Nah, I’m fine,” she assured.

“Maybe it’s better if you don’t roam the streets on your own at this time.” The black ninja suggested and she shrugged. “I think I’ll survive, but bye I guess.” She said and then took off, calling Amelia on her way home to tell her the story.

The next day all eight of the friends walked trough Ninjago city.

“You you just told them that your fine, a bit cold, but you’d just get home easily and alone?” Luna asked with raised eyebrows and Y/n nodded. “That’s like the biggest you thing to do.” She laughed.

“What? It was not a big deal, it lasted five reminders tops, I don’t have to go to therapy for that?”

The others laughed and suddenly Anthony stopped walking. “What?” Arthur stopped next to him. “I’m kind of hungry, what about you?” Anthony smirked.

“Like you read my mind.” Charlie gave the same kind of smirk back. “Harvey’s, then?” Flora asked and everyone nodded. It was a huge supermarket almost everyone in Ninjago got their stuff there.

As they walked towards the place, they came by the alley Y/n had been the night before and she pointed it out with a small smile.

“Damn, almost died here then?” James joked making her laugh. “Imagine if you had died! Could I have gotten your skateboard then?” Luna looked at her.

“Absolutely not! It would definitely go to me!” Amelia protested. “You’re telling me that if I died, the problem would be who’d get my skateboard?” Y/n asked with a raised brow.

“Well, that’s not my problem, I’d just raid your closet.” Flora shrugged making everyone laugh.

They entered Harvey’s and smiled innocently at the cashier who gave them a suspicious look. “How cute, she recognised us.” Arthur grinned.

“Arty, please don’t tell me you like her.” Luna groaned. “Nah, don’t worry, Klara Butcher already has his heart.” Anthony said and Arthur hit his arm with a hiss.

“Oh right, I wouldn’t say.” He grinned innocently. “No way! You have a crush on Butcher?” Y/n interrogated. “You mean that girl with the purple haar tips?” Luna asked excitedly and Arthur just told them to shut up.

They walked trough the supermarket and towards the bread. “Croissants, everyone?” Charlie asked making everyone nod. “And a cinnamon roll for me aswel.” Flora quickly added. “And for me!” James chirped.

After that they head trough the drinks, making their way there, they walked trough the candy section and Y/n’s eye fell on a pack of skittles.

She grinned and as they walked past, she took it and placed it in the pocket of her hoody together with her hands.

They then took a bottle of cola and they checked out by the self-checkout.

They casually walked trough the store doors… and then the alarm went off.

They tried to keep walking casually but the moment someone yelled “hey, stop!” They bolted away.

They laughed as they looked behind them to see the two security guards try keeping up.

“Stop! Thieves!” He yelled out and the eight teens just kept running and laughing.

Just around the corner was a jewellery shop that had been robbed the previous night. Six ninja where there to try find any clues to who the group of robbers had been.

“Stop, thieves!” They shared glances before running out of the shop, only to see a group of teens being chased by out of breath guards.

“It’s not them, guys.” Jay waved it off about to walk back. “Their still thieves.” Nya pulled him back. “What do we do, are we going after them?” Kai looked as Lloyd.

“We don’t have much better to do.” Lloyd shrugged and the Ninja ran of towards the group of teens.

Not like they where to find anything in that jewellery shop.

“Uh, guys, I think we have a problem!” Luna yelled as she looked behind them. The group looked back to see they weren’t running from guards anymore, but from Ninja.

“Oh god, we are not winning this race.” Arthur groaned as they quickly turned a corner. “Well, I dare say we know the city better then them!” Hi twin brother disagreed.

“Anthony is right! I say we split!” Y/n called and she then grabbed Luna and turned into an alley, followed closely by Charlie.

“Their splitting up!” Cole called out. “Alright, Kai, Jay, you two go after those two, Zane and Cole you take the three that went straight, Nya and I go right!” Lloyd ordered and they all listened.

“Goddamnit Y/n! You know there’s a fence at the end of this alley!” Luna called as the three friends ran as fast as they could. “I know, I know, but we can get to the roof with that fence and then we can easily get to the Main Street, we’ll lose them easily in the crowd!” She called.

They got to the fence and when they looked back, the water ninja and the green ninja where approaching fast.

Charlie quickly helped Y/n up the fence who then went onto the roof, he then helped Luna who did the same.

Both of them then grabbed him and managed to get from the ground to the roof.

The hopper from roof to roof, almost slipping multiple times. The two ninja had easily got onto the roof, not wasting a second.

“You still think we can make it to main?” Charlie questioned. “I might have made a slight mistake in time.” Y/n called out.

“Well good going!” Luna called back. “Hey I’ve only ever ran from the police, I didn’t expect this alright!”

Her mind raced against time and she looked around. “You two jump down right here, then go leg immediately into opal-street and into the video store.” She called and they gave her a sceptic look.

“Trust me!” She called and Luna sighed. “Let me guess, you keep running and get caught? Little hero!” She joked and Y/n laughed.

“I’ll get myself out, promise!” She said and then the two finally listened as she kept running. When she looked back, the water ninja had followed her two friends and she hoped they would get to the video store in time.

Nya and Lloyd ran into the alleyway to see one of the boys help a girl up the fence. “Hold on a second, there is no way!” Nya called out recognising the girl.

“How is that possible!” Lloyd couldn’t help but laugh.

“She’s good!” Nya said as the girls helped the guy up the roof. Though, the two of them did it without breaking a sweat.

They followed them but where surprised when two jumped down.

“You follow them!” Lloyd called and Nya nodded and jumped after them.

He himself had almost caught up with Y/n who then jumped down aswel.

He quickly jumped after her and she tried to run but he grabbed her arm and pushed her Shinkansen the wall.

Lucky for him he had a mask because their faces where so close he couldn’t help but blush.

“Hello again.” He greeted and she was speechless for a moment. “Hi.” She said shortly before pushing him of her slightly.

“So you went from damsel in distress to thieve?” He gave her an amused look. “Thieve is a rather big word.” She rolled her eyes.

He huffed. “You shouldn’t be stealing either way, thieve or not.” He said and she chuckled. “Your kind of a kill joy, you know that?” She asked and he sighed.

“Listen- stealing is just wrong,” he pointed out making her huff a sarcastic laugh. “Harley’s is a multi million company, they won’t miss a pack of skittles.” She got it out of her pocket and waved it around. “And whatever my friends took.” She rolled her eyes.

“And before you give me the whole talk, we went to self check out, so no, the cashier doesn’t have to pay for what we stole, and no, I know damn well it won’t go of the workers pay check so don’t try to gaslight me into thinking that, and before you come up with a lie, I know Harleys policy because I worked there for a while so you also don’t have to give me the talk about not knowing how it feels.” She pointed out and he gave her an amused look.

“You’ve been caught multiple times, haven’t you?” He asked and she grinned. “A few, we mostly get away with it easily, the alarm doesn’t even always go off.” She explained.

Her phone started ringing and she got it out of her back pocket.

Incoming call from flowers😍…

“Can I take this?” She asked and the green ninja sighed and nodded. “Hey, babes,” she answered the phone making the person on the other end chuckle.

“Hey, n/n, we lost them,” Flora said. “We’ve re-grouped, where are you guys?” She asked and Y/n looked over at the ninja in front of her.

“No idea where Charlie and Lu are, but I’m having a nice conversation with the green ninja here.” She said, winning at him making him shake his head.

“Seriously? You got caught?” Flora laughed and Y/n could hear her other friends laugh aswel. “Yeah, haha, how funny, I suppose I see you at Jamie’s?” She questioned.

“You got it!” Flora said. “Right, see you in ten then.” Y/n said before hanging up.

“So, can I go?” She looked at the green ninja and he gave her a look. “You think that after shoplifting and then proceeding to let us chase you trough the city, I’m just going to let you go like that?” He gave her a sceptical look.

“Well, yeah, what, your going to take me back to Harvey’s and make me give back that bag of skittles?” She cocked an eyebrow and he was silent for a moment.

“Here, for your troubles.” She tossed him the bag of skittles which he caught. She walked past him and out of the alley.

“Hey,” he snapped out of his trans and looked at Nya who had appeared next to him. “I lost them.” She admitted.

“I caught Y/n, but she just gave me the skittles and walked off again.” He admitted. The others then found them, landing next to them.

“We literally just got beat by a group of teens.” Kai said annoyed. “Seems like Lloyd got himself a stealing girlfriend.” Nya laughed.

“Wait, was that the group from the park?” Jay asked and then everyone realised that they had just chased the girl that had given aloud her number.

Once again, Lloyd knew he was in for a day of teasing.

Her friends cheered when they noticed Y/n coming their way.

“How’d you escape the green ninja?” Amelia joked. “I just gave him the skittles I stole and walked off, didn’t even stop me.” She grinned.

Everyone laughed and headed inside James house.

“So, what’ve we got?” Arthur asked. “Well, we don’t have skittles, that’s for sure.” Luna said as she laid three cans of energy drink on the table.

“Not like we’re gonna need those that much anyway.” Anthony said, putting two chocolate bars, two cans of soda and a small bag of candy down.

“Jeez, Andy, how many pockets have you got?” James joked as he threw just two snickers onto the table.

The only one who had nothing was Flora. She had just joined a year ago after she began dating Charles and the idea of stealing was always a bit hard for her.

I will not debate anyone over these

Starting up:

Jay, half human, half twi'lek, his mother is the twi'lek. When he was born he was shipped to the Huts on Tatooine but his little carriage pod dropped and was picked up by Jawas. He has mechanical wings he made himself and specializes in marketing for the Jawas because he's adorable

Force sensitive

Ed and Edna: Jawas who find Jay are the main ones who raise him but I'm fairly certain jawas take the whole village approach.

Cole: Togurta. Togurta's are very strong and agile but people always seem surprised when they actually show case their strength. This seemed very fitting for Cole.

Force sensitive

Kai and Nya: human nautolan hybrids but it has been so long since the nautolan was introduced they don't have many traits other than large dark eyes and Nya is able to breathe under water. (They don't know its nautolan, which is kit fistos species for those who don't know)

Force sensitive

Nya is stronger in the force but she uses chants to help her focus (like the og dathomirian witches)

Zane: zane is a kyber crystal powering a droid. He more specifically the crystal then the body because kyber crystals are sentient

Force sensitive

Pixal: same deal as zane but her crystal faced torture (from the mining process) zane heals her later but she still struggles (fun fact ahsoka's kyber crystals were corrupted and tortured but she rescued and healed them and that is why they are white)

Force sensitive can only manipulate it through the dark side

Garmadon and Wu: Diathim (also referred to as angels) and part zabrak (i went back and forth on that because beskalisks have four arms but then I drew it and just fit well for them) angels are considered the most beautiful creatures while zebraks tend to be considered evil. Both are capable of good and evil.

Very force sensitive

Garmadon isn't strictly a sith. More of just acts as he sees is needed. He does tend to use the dark side a lot though

Garmadon is missing his lower wings and has mutated arms with cyber supports

Misako: Chiss, intellectual tend to try to logic their emotions away (think a blue spock) the Diathim have prophecies. She wanted to study them. She and Garmadon fall in love

Lloyd: Diathim, zabrak and chiss. Very tall. Blue skin, red eyes, has all of his wings but also has a set of lower arms that do not have cyber supports.

Force sensitive, just dripping midiclorians to the point he boosts the sensitivity of those he is around

Struggles with acting in anger and will accidentally hurt his lightsabers original kyber crystals that he will wear on a necklace and pours into whenever he meditates

Rei: human, mandalorian black smith

Force sensitive

Maya: human nautolan hybrid also unaware of the nautolan she just thinks it's the force she is trained like the og dathomirian witches

Force sensitive

Lily: Togruta

Force sensitive

Lou: Togruta dancer and singer, gets paid for it

Harumi: human, not force sensitive but will later inject midiclorians to try be able to use the force and will become dependent on them

Cyrus: human, tries to create kyber crystal droids like zane but the mining process corrupted all of them including the prosthetics he tried to make that were powered by crystals. He chooses to be wheel chair bound after the incident but he is ambulatory with regular prosthetics he just finds it exhausting

Morro: zabrak, becomes a malevolent ghost but will later settle down into a regular force ghost who follows wu around

Force sensitive

Serpentine: sub species of hutt. Made them native to dathomir and the moons

Details beneath the cut!

Jay

- Narrow face. Has a sort of movie star look to him. The most conventionally attractive out of all the ninja. Short and a little boxy-looking. Slightly muscled shoulders (he’s an inventor) but otherwise stronger than he looks.

- Lots of freckles and fulguration scars. His body regularly conducts lightning through it and it shows. The smaller ones fade with time and return when he uses his powers.

Nya

- Square face and strong features, very grumpy resting expression. Moles on her cheek and the corner of her mouth and a couple on her neck. Dragon tattoo on her arm.

- Strong biceps and and thighs (she’s been an inventor, mechanic, samurai, and now a ninja). She can easily bench press a few of her teammates and her punches hit like a semi truck. She has swirling marks as well as fangs from her time merged as the ocean and a scar on her left side from fighting Dogshank (her body remembers the events of Skybound, even if nobody else—except for Jay—does.)

Lloyd

- Classic hero look: soft features, seems very approachable, most of his opponents don’t think he’s capable of great anger because of this. (They’re wrong). Puts effort into his appearance because he has strong feelings about what he thinks a hero should look like. He relaxes a little after the Merge and lets some of his less human traits become visible, such as his fangs and pointed ears. Unrecognizable outside of gi—literally looks like an average guy.

- He has a somewhat stocky, jock-like build. Has several visible scars and stretch marks but the most prominent are the claw marks on his shoulders from fighting his dad. Top surgery scars too (he is trans to me).

Kai

- Physically resembles his father quite a bit, has similar sharp features. Very handsome. Has a lot of very thick, coarse hair, so he uses a lot of hair jel for it. Has a scar over his right eye that he got while fighting a Serpentine.

- Jacked, very strong arms, biceps, and shoulders. Calloused hands from working the blacksmith forge. Same dragon tattoo as Nya on his left arm that he originally got to commemorate her sacrifice in Seabound. Top surgery scars (he is also trans to me)

Cole

- Has a soft, gentle-looking face. Probably the most relaxed out of everyone on the team. A couple moles on his nose.

- Tied with Zane for tallest height. Used to look very slender in s1/2 but has since put on a lot of weight. Large build with lots of functional muscle. Big arms, legs, hands, and feet. Big chest. You get the picture. Lots of body hair all over. Nearly invisible scar on his face from his time as a ghost.

Zane

- Tied with Cole for the tallest. Was originally shorter but was rebuilt taller after s3. Slender build with a strong, flexible core. Dr. Julien designed him to be light and fast to contrast the Juggernaut, which is slow yet tough. Can still tank a freight train. Powerful. Built to protect.

- Very human-looking despite his android body. (Dr. Julien was a damned genius) similar wiring to Pixal on his chest but with snowflakes instead of dots. Heart/core is comprised of chronosteel as given to him by the previous Master of Ice.

Pixal

- The shortest. Petite. Borg built her to look soft and amicable since she worked as an assistant at his company. Visible wiring since she is overflowing with every mechanism thought possible to make her as fully functional as a human being and more.

- Has an alternative Battle Mode body that is bigger than even Zane. She re-made the Samurai X persona to seem big, quiet, and terrifying to fight. She succeeded.

Ninjago hcs

Kai's(Smith-Jiang family's) eye color hcs:either amber,brown or sea-green eyes just like Maya's,while Nya has brown(I think this one is canon) and Ray has amber/brown eyes

After unmerging with the sea Nya's eyes started changing colors to match the nearest body of water:sea-green when near the ocean,grayish when near something like a bottle of water or sink water and etc.They will also turn glowing blue when she uses her powers on a large scale (they once turned blood-red bc she was treating an injury and blood has water in it)

Post-Crystallized:sometimes parts of her body would turn into liquid during the adjusting to being a human again(during which her eyes would be white like the foam)

That's hard because I really love all of them, and many I am still in the process of figuring out, so there may be dimensions to characters I add later that makes me like them more. Right now I think it's Lloyd because I think he is the shining beacon in the dark mist that is this au. And also because I have a Lloyd bias.

I think characters having conflicting reactions to life problems and intense relationship drama brewing because of it is a common thread through many of my au's. I think it also has the most notable similarities to Splinter-Hearted back when that was an au, especially the idea of Kai and Nya's sibling relationship breaking down in reaction to loss.

You didn't ask, but I think the main difference this au has to my others is the subtlety with which I'm portraying the more magical/supernatural aspects of the story, and the tone, which is probably the most Adult I've ever approached a silly spinning ninjas au by.

which seasons have the greatest impact on this au?

guess it's kinda obvious, but Seabound and DR s2. Skybound as well as it's sort of foundational to why those other seasons even work. And obviously I'm sprinkling in a bit of Possession for flavor (don't expect Morro to make a miraculous return here tho, its just the vibes)

Fun fact is actually that Nya's locket is designed to look like a compass in the front, to mirror the compass which held Delara's photo in Skybound.

I like how simultaneously very alien and very human it is. The thought patterns of the siren are impossible to comprehend for a human as the thought patterns of a creature from the ocean's abyss, and yet at its core, its drawn to Nya's side by a universal instinct - a gnawing hunger which screams to survive. I think the grief that drives Nya's actions is just as indiscernible, and just as primal.

Imagine everything in this au smells like fish and seaweed and brine and rust all the time. Everyone in Stiix is pretty noseblind to it.

It's not about emotionally fattening her up for the slaughter or anything like that. Sirens are not really stronger than humans physically, their only real weapons are their voices and appearance. It's just that they rarely encounter anyone as capable of resistance for no discernible reason as Nya is. The siren has no choice but to continue to play her little game until it can break down her defenses, or risk death if she ever leaves the city of Stiix.

Here’s some thoughts on the final episodes of Dragons Rising, Season 1:

Land of Lost Things:

So how’d the Dragon Core end up in the Land of Lost Things? Nya says, “Someone lost it” but who?

The Land of Lost Things in this ep is permanently at sunset/rise and looks beautiful

The land itself is screaming? Seems kinda important

Couldn’t Geo just fuse the Hoarder to the ground

Bonzle! Never expected how much they’d do with her after this ep

Closing (brief) thoughts on Dragons Rising Season 1: It’s really good. Good blend of the more episodic stuff and serialized content. Arin and Sora are a blast, Lloyd is great, and I forgot just how good the Wyldfyre stuff is this season. There’s a lot of hanging threads, but Season 1 also does feel like a complete story. It’s not perfect by any means, but certainly at the higher end of Ninjago seasons.

Jay used to love storms.

Every time he would hear the crack of thunder across the sky, he would beg his ma and pa to let him go outside. After promising to stay away from all of the junk piles (which were struck quite frequently), they would bundle him up in a rain jacket three sizes too big for him because it was one of Pa’s that shrunk in the dryer before finally letting him loose.

He would always run until he was out of sight of the trailer, waiting for the rain to be directly overhead before shedding the rain jacket and letting the water fall on his bare skin. The lightning zigzagging across the sky felt like an old friend, and Jay remembered reaching up and trying to grab it out of the clouds. He only did this more after his old school had a mythology unit, and they learned about the gods and their domains and their powers.

People forget that Zeus was the ruler of the gods for a reason.

Maybe it was foolish to try and compare himself to Zeus, of all people. Maybe it was fate. All Jay knew was that if Zeus ever had to deal with the bullshit that came with using electricity with a straight face, then he was a stronger soldier then Jay ever could be.

He felt ridiculous in his current position, but some things just had to be done.

“Jay,” Zane called, standing at the open door to the garage, “is there a reason why you are standing out in the rain holding a frying pan?”

“Because elemental powers suck and I just need it to strike me already,” Jay answered, raising his pan even higher and continuing to walk in a circle. Walking gave him the illusion that the pouring rain wasn’t hitting him as much as it actually was.

“You are trying to get struck by lightning?”

“Yes, Zane. I am trying to get struck by lightning.”

“That does not seem very wise—”

“Well then it’s a good thing that wisdom is not my wheelhouse,” and Jay knew how stupid he looked, walking around with a pot on his head and a pan in his hand. He probably looked like some circus clown. “Look, can you just leave me alone to suffer in peace, please?”

Zane sighed, but abided by Jay’s wishes and went back into the warehouse. Jay kept walking around and around and around, waving his pan like a crazy person. The lightning was crawling under his skin, writhing and waiting to get out, but the problem was that Jay didn’t know how to let it out, exactly.

These elemental powers were for the birds.

He never saw Kai sticking a tong into a campfire to try and channel his element, or Nya constantly throwing herself under the shower. Cole wasn’t rolling in the dirt and mud like a wild horse, and Zane was only caught in the freezer once, but that was before any of them had their elements. Jay didn’t even know how Lloyd would begin to channel his element of green into an actual physical thing.

So yeah. Elemental powers sucked.

With every storm that thundered overhead Jay could feel his element spring to life, twisting and snapping like a wild animal waiting to be released from its cell. Jay did everything that he could think of to try and release it: he tried to force it through a car battery, he tried to channel it into some wires, he even stuck a fork into an electrical socket just to see if that would do anything. He still had the small burns on his hands from the last stunt.

Maybe there was some secret way to let loose that the others weren’t telling him, but Jay was too scared to ask. Besides, if they really knew something, then they would’ve told him by now, right?

There was a small clanging sound behind him, and Jay turned to see Nya standing at the mouth of the warehouse rather than Zane. Feeling his heart start to pound in his chest, Jay flushed when he truly realized how ridiculous he must look, and it took every bit of self-restraint to not fling the pan away.

“You okay, Sparky?” Nya chuckled, holding an umbrella to keep the rain from landing on her. Jay thought that she would’ve just been able to control the rain, but maybe that wasn’t the case.

Sighing, Jay brought his pan down to his side. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just trying to get struck by lightning, you know, the usual. Even a little jolt would do at this point.”

The rain seemed to stutter, starting and stopping in place before resuming its normal rhythm. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Nya asked, leaning against the wall.

“No,” Jay admitted, “but it’s the best one I’ve got.”

“I’m pretty sure someone as smart as you would have better ideas than to stand outside in a thunderstorm wearing pots and pans to try and attract one of the deadliest things to humans in the world,” Nya deadpanned.

And was Jay just now realizing how foolish his plan was, with his long-time crush looking over at him with a fond but exasperated expression? Yes, yes he was. “It isn’t what it looks like!”

Now what on earth would’ve possessed him to say that? He was so stupid, he was so so so stupid—

In hindsight, he really should’ve been paying more attention to his surroundings.

The bright flash was what reached him first. It burned what felt like permanent holes into his retinas and Jay saw stars swim across his vision, dark against the white light of the lightning bolt. And then the pain hit.

It was all-consuming, running through his nerves with the force and speed of a freight train, and Jay barely had the breath to scream as the air was knocked out of his lungs with a baseball bat. It felt like every single one of his limbs was being blown off. He started violently twitching, panicking, but the true fear set in when he instinctively felt the lightning bolt try and jump Nya. The bolt was desperate to ground itself, and Nya was the next closest host.

With a strength that Jay didn’t even know he possessed, he grabbed the lightning bolt and tossed it the other way into the raging sea. It fizzled out without a fight, but Jay was crashing to the ground before he could see it fully disappear.

Someone called his name but he couldn’t hear it over the ringing in his ears. His head smashed against the concrete on the docks, and Jay just laid there, stunned. There was no feeling in his outer extremities, and he only had a view of the hand that he threw the lightning with; it was blackened, definitely burned but at least all of his fingers were still there. Was he paralyzed?

Gentle hands grabbed either side of his face, and Jay was blinking the rain out of his eyes to glance up at Nya’s worried face. Actually, worry was too weak of a word; Nya looked terrified, eyes raking him up and down as Jay tried to kick his brain back into gear. She was saying something, and Jay’s lip-reading skills left a lot to be desired but he could’ve sworn that she was calling him an idiot, which was totally fair in this situation.

“Nya?” he slurred, his tongue tasting like ashes. Finally he was able to wiggle his toes, but he still couldnt move the majority of his leg.

“Yeah, Jay,” she sounded somewhat relieved, “it’s me, I’m here.”

“I’m okay,” he tried to assure, but she suddenly looked angry. Jay shut his mouth instead.

“Walker, you are literally smoking,” Nya growled, but her hands stayed gentle as they cupped his cheeks and rubbed the tears away from his eyes. When did those get there? “I better not hear you say that you’re okay again or I will kick your ass.”

“That’s not very nice,” Jay commented, before his back arched suddenly and his mouth opened in a silent scream. All of the pain was rushing back into his body at once, and his hands scrabbled for something to grab onto as he was overwhelmed with sensations, feeling the lightning race around under his skin faster than it ever had before. Nya was holding him down by the shoulders, still saying something, but Jay only grabbed at her arms in a desperate bid to ground himself.

It wouldn’t stop. It just wouldn’t stop. Jay was sure that he was gripping hard enough to draw blood, but Nya only held him tighter when he started convulsing, the world going dark as Jay seized. Pain like nothing he ever felt before was blossoming across his skin, and the storm only whipped itself up into a frenzy around them, the lightning glowing brighter in its streaks across the sky and the rain smashing down with a vengeance. The wind whistled in his ears, and Jay didn’t know where his pan was, but at this point he needed Nya to grab him and knock him the fuck out.

The lightning was attracted to Nya, and it took every ounce of Jay’s willpower to keep it contained inside, but it still smashed and raged against his skin like something possessed and Jay didn’t know how much longer he could keep it together—

A warm hand landed on his back, and Jay felt the lightning break through his self-control and go through the hand. But the hand didn’t pull away, instead gripping Jay’s hoodie tighter and drawing both him and Nya into a warm chest. Jay would recognize the scent of the person anywhere: Cole.

“I need both of you to calm down,” said his best friend, his voice ringing out loud and clear despite the chaos swirling around them. “You’re making the storm worse.”

“How the fuck am I supposed to calm down?!” Nya asked angrily, “Jay just got struck by lightning!”

“Yeah, I know,” Cole grunted, “and that was pretty stupid, but you do realize that the whole water ninja thing means you’re controlling the rain, right? I need you to get a handle on it before you drown the entire east side of Ninjago City.”

But Nya was scared, and Jay knew that. He hid his face in the crook of her neck, ignoring the wispy smoke still curling off of his palms as he hugged her. “Nya,” he said softly, “I’m okay. Lightning ninja, remember? It won’t kill me. Can you try to calm down, please? For me?”

He was still very much in pain, and he doubted that was changing any time soon, but he would rather not be wet and in pain. Nya returned his hug, her breathing ragged, and Jay pushed down his own panic so he could focus on her. “I’m trying,” she whispered, and Jay felt the guilt pour into his chest at his past thoughts about how in control all of his friends were of their elements. It was a stupid assumption on his part, if this rain was anything to go off of.

Finally, after a few minutes of careful breathing, the rain started to let up and the dark clouds overhead began to dissipate. Cole sighed in relief, his hold around the other two still as solid as a rock. Jay realized that Cole must’ve been using his earth powers to help channel his lightning and give him an outlet, but Jay jumped as Nya slumped onto him. She was exhausted, and he was more than happy to be her pillow for a little while.

Cole kissed the back of Jay’s head. “You burned your hand pretty bad, bluebell.”

Oh yeah, he did manage to do that, and his hand was hurting very badly now that Jay was thinking about it. “I know,” Jay whispered .”I threw a lightning bolt, isn’t that cool? I thought it was pretty cool.”

“I’m sure it was, but you know what would be cooler? If you two never did this again, and I never have to see you do the chicken dance with a pot on your head in a thunderstorm for the rest of my life."

i am so joyous that someone is asking about ryan garmadon tysm

to answer your questions i wanna state that ryan is supposed to be the polar opposite of lloyd, in terms of powers and abilities. Lloyd is light, Ryan is darkness. They're both equal in terms of powers, so Ryan is stronger than the other ninja, but not Lloyd.

Unlike Lloyd though, Ryan embraces his oni form, so he's much more willing to use it to get out of situations where just his powers arent enough.

How ive imagined his powers working is they're much stronger in dark places/at night (while lloyd is the opposite). He can control a void-like substance that can basically make him extend his limbs or even make new ones (like give himself four arms without having to become an oni). The closest thing to showing off ghosts powers is in a joke video where he just straight up grab's jay

but i think it would be better if i made some (very lazy) sketches explaining his powers

this might make ryan seem pretty unbalanced between him and the other ninja, and even lloyd, but in my au with ryan in it i like to imagine lloyd can still control the other 4 main elements (yes i know the only reason he could before was cause he was the ultimate spinjitzu master/the golden master but im unfortunately a nostalgic fan so i like holding onto stuff from older seasons <//3), they're just much weaker than his own element. for example he can control fire pretty decently but never nearly as good as kai. so it basically balances out if lloyd and ryan ever got into an actual fight: ryan's got his funky void powers and lloyd's got (albeit weaker) 4 other elements at his disposal.

ryan could also merge into the darkness and appear in a different place, but the same goes for lloyd with light (shine a light in two different areas of a room and lloyd will just disappear from one spot to another)

if it wasnt obvious im trying to make ryan and lloyd actually look like the descendants of what is essentially god lmao

ryan in terms of power is more powerful than wu, but wu could still beat him in a fight just cause he's got more experience than it, same with garmadon. the real deciding factor is "will ryan use his oni powers?"

in my au lloyd does decide to use his oni form more, but they much prefer not to. Not opposed, but would use it as a last resort, if anything.

in general? the element of darkness is as strong as the element of energy, ryan and lloyd are as yin and yang as it gets lol

ryan's pretty much inherited all of his powers from garmadon, so anything garmadon can do ryan can do as well, and this goes with the oni thing. ryan uses his oni powers often not to make things easier, but to make sure he has complete control and isnt gonna go on an evil rampage, despite knowing that simply being an oni doesn't automatically make you evil (garmadon trauma 🔥🔥🔥)

while ryan's powers are really strong, he could definitely still be beaten by one of the ninja since they all basically have matching skills, but they are basically really lucky ryan's on their side and not on the evil side.

I'd love to! I'm not done with the first series yet so I'm sorry if something's wrong. Either way, I hope I managed to get a take at least similar to his character, pfft. I'll take feedback and edit things if I have to.

Pairing: Romantic

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Kai seems a bit self-absorbed at times. He's overly confident in his skills, including flirting. Most of the main ninja except Lloyd and Zane try flirting, but Kai is probably the most confident.

Alot of his affection towards his darling is displayed through flirting. He lays it on thick and is rather passionate. He's also a bit impulsive and may make moves on you. His obsession is indeed like his element, burning with passion.

He's intense and likes to hold his darling in his arms when he can.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Kai prefers not to due to his moral code, but he'd get messy for you. Probably in order to protect you or in a fit of jealousy... he may shake loose his morals and get a little dirty for you.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

He likes teasing but doesn't want to mock you. He'd try to treat you well once he abducts you. Kai's selfish but he does try to help you adjust to abduction. He says he's protecting you and that he loves you. He'll still give you affection... even if you hate him after this.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

He's determined, impulsive, and a bit too passionate at times. Despite this, he would try not to do anything against your will too often. He isn't as deluded like Jay and gives you space when you need it.

He may force a few affectionate gestures for the most part. Other than that... he tries not to scare you off.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

He bares quite a bit. Not as much as Jay but certainly a good amount. Kai can be vulnerable towards you which is why he considers the idea of hiding you away. His vulnerability towards you is what makes him so overprotective and obsessive over you.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

He'd try to stop it. Kai's stubborn and may just end up fighting you to get you to stop. He's hotheaded so you may set him off and you both are yeling at each other.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

This is not a game to him. He doesn't want you to eacape due to how dangerous Ninjago is. Surely you understand this, right?

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

His temper most likely leads to the worst experience. Maybe Kai was getting too stressed and was pushed too far. Either way, seeing Kai burn someone due to a meltdown was probably the worst other than abduction. Even more so if he burned you without meaning to.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

He wants a family. He likes it being just the two of you but he can't help but think of you and Nya being closer friends. He just wants you all to be happy. He wants to be stronger so he can protect those he loves most. Overall, he just likes to think of a future where you're safe.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

His obsession is as dangerous as the fire he wields. Kai does get jealous and he'd lash out. He'd either lash out at others or try to harness those feelings into his training to cool off.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

He tries to be affectionate. He's usually around you and often likes to flirt. He loves seeing your face as red as his outfit. He adores you and is upfront with it. His confidence and impulsive behavior may lead to PDA. Although Kai just likes to follow you closely at times when not affectionate.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Stalking and flirting. He's intense with it, too. Nya finds this behavior troubling. Kai is not usually one for gifts, he makes his attraction known by a well placed touch and soft word.

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Kai's in the middle. He gets flirty and overall is the same according to the others. It's the new obsessive persona towards you that's weird.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

Burning and isolation. Mostly isolation as he likes the idea of you coming to him for help, like a hero. If he's angry? Burning. He'll scar patterns into your skin to show you what you did was wrong. Be it escape or "cheating"....

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

He tries to take none until after he abducts you! If he did then he'd simply isolate you until he feels you have the right to talk to others again.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

Not the most patient person in the world... but patient enough.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Probably not. He'd try to deny the situation and only then would he be delusional. Speaking specifically if you died, he'd be in denial. If you left, then he'd never get over it and hopes to find you again

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

Somewhat and maybe. Only if you proved to him you did love him and wished to be his would he let you go.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Not really sure. There's a chance it could be due to how passionate he is and his childhood?

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

He does his best to comfort you. He doesn't want you upset, he isn't heartless.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Probably. He is a ninja that wields fire and has a temper. He stalks, uses violence for jealousy, and kidnaps. He's similar, but has his differences.

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Giving in to him just enough to escape. With Kai it's a bit difficult but you may pull it off. Also, friends with Nya? She'll help you for sure.

Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

Yes, but he tries not to.

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

He'd go to great lengths to have you. He doesn't worship you a ton, but he shows it while flirting sometimes.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

Hm... give him... eight months to a year and a half? Maybe shorter.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

Unintentionally.

Lloyd felt himself instinctively flinch after a gust of wind blew past him. His grip tightened on the Bounty's railings. Out of the corner of his eye, Lloyd could see Kai staring at him.

It wasn't his Kai though. His Kai wouldn't wonder why Lloyd flinched at something like the wind. His Kai wouldve gone over to him just to be near, just so Lloyd knew Kai's presence was there.

This Kai only stared in interest. He was probably pondering that very question.

Lloyd turned around to see that Loid, this world's version of himself, had finally made his way out to the deck. Lloyd felt his stomach twist whenever he saw Loid's golden eyes, golden armor, or that dyed brown hair. It was like seeing a miniature version of his dad. He quickly became nauseous upon the thought of his dad.

"Sooo, what are you two doing?" Asked Loid, his voice chipper and still raspy and higher pitched. Apparently the tea incident never happened in this world either.

"Just catching my breath," Lloyd responded, "we're landing in Ninjago City next, right?" Loid gave a curt nod. Lloyd turned around again to look out into the distance. He wondered if Cyrus Borg was around, or how far technology advanced. He'd heavily questioned them beforehand about Borg Tower, only to be met with the fact such a tower didn't exist in this world. Only a memorial commemorating anyone who lost their lives during the Final Battle.

At least they can call it the Final Battle, Lloyd thought bitterly. For him, the Final Battle only became the first of many battles. For Loid and this world, it stopped there. Nothing more other than minor skirmishes and petty crimes.

The hope was to first find Cyrus Borg or Mystake, whoever could help deduce what brought Lloyd into another dimension in the first place. The ship came to a slow stop.

"Sorry guys!" A voice yelled from up top. "The winds are becoming a bit too wild for it to be safe to cross these mountains. We'll have to fly at a lower altitude and wait it out for a bit" Nya explained, walking down to the deck. Lloyd only now noticed that Jay and Cole were right behind her.

"So while we have to wait, how about we test your skills?" Kai offered, a cocky grin on his face.

"Knock it off Kai" Cole teased, jokingly punching Kai in the arm.

"You don't have to accept!" Kai affirmed, still rubbing the area where Cole punched him.

"I wouldn't mind" Lloyd responded, not letting his expression change. After all, he was rather curious about the Ninjas skill level too. "5 v 1 or 1 v 1?" Lloyd asked, nearly catching himself from saying 6 v 1. Nya hadn't been trained in this world as the water ninja.

"Now what makes you think you can handle 5 v 1?" Loid asked almost cautiously, with curiosity creeping into his voice. "You'll have to see" Lloyd smiled, leaving everyone slightly confused and challenged.

"How about we four go agaisnt him first, then we have the two loids duke it out!" Jay suggested, making a big hand motion when he described the loid fight. Loid and Nya backed up to give the rest of them space. The golden weapons had also been combined into the Mega Weapon before being sent off into space, thought the Overlord had not returned in this world.

Yet, a sadistic thought crept in. Lloyd hadn't gone in depth about his own timeline to the other ninja, maybe out of some selfish desire to see them go through the same suffering he had to.

...

He'd tell them later.

For now, Lloyd readied himself. He didn't power up or grab a sword. Zane gave him an odd look. Lloyd ignored him.

"And begin!"

Lloyd let Kai charge at him first, easily side stepping his advances before catching Jay's nunchucks. Jay was stronger than he thought, so Lloyd flung into a Spinjitzu tornado before throwing Jay onto Cole. A shuriken barely whipped past his face before Zane came and attacked with his other shuriken. Lloyd punched and dodged before getting abruptly kicked from the back and jumped to avoid Cole's scythe swing. Kai and Jay both used Spinjitzu while Cole and Zane kept him distracted.

So their fighting skills aren't all that bad, Lloyd thought to himself. Even though they lacked precise coordination with each other, it was still difficult to keep track of all 4 of them at once. Lloyd finally pulled out a small knife from his belt to block Kai's katana, his knees almost buckling from the amount of weight Kai had put into the swing.

He let go of the dagger and let Kai's sword fall to where Jay's nunchucks were swinging. Zane came at him again with both his shurikens while Cole came up behind him. Lloyd managed to out maneuver them again, but he was already panting. The others seemed much more exhausted than him, so Lloyd stretched his arms and taunted them again with a hand motion.

He really didn't want to use his power, if he needed to, he'd want it to be a surprise. This time Jay came at him with a Spinjitzu tornado, only he was much slower than what Lloyd was used to seeing. He simply moved out of the way and decided to go Kai first. Kai frantically tried to block with his swords at Lloyd's sudden advancement, with Lloyd taking out another dagger to disarm Kai.

A sword flew out of Kai's hand. Lloyd strained his arm upwards to catch the sword before kicking Kai to the ground. This fight has gone on for too long, Lloyd's mind echoed, it's time to end this.

He stood his ground in the middle and let the four of them surround him.

"We've got you cornered now!" Cole shouted enthusiastically, visibly tightening the grip on his scythe. The other three seemed equally prepared and confident. Lloyd slowly started to smirk. First Master, he had missed feeling this powerful.

He finally let green energy flow through him. The others didn't attack, but stared in wonder at the way Lloyd's eyes glowed and his hands produced bright green light. It must've been surprising, he'd already seen Loid's power and knew that his training had mostly gone to his golden power. Lloyd's mastery over green energy far surpassed any of the ninja in this world.

Zane was the first to react, but was still too slow compared to when Lloyd suddenly brought his hands together opposite parallel.

Lloyd started to hear a slow rhythmic clapping, and whipped his head around with everyone else to see Master Wu descending down the steps. "Your skills are masterful and powerful. I think it's safe to say my ninja do not hold a candle to you" Master Wu commented, his eyes twinkling with pride. "I-uh thank you Master" Lloyd stumbled, the words feeling like they were just spilling out of his mouth.

Green energy expelled everywhere as he moved his hands I'm opposite directions. It looked almost like a shockwave as the energy easily disarmed everybody and sent the ninja to the ground.

Lloyd walked over and reached his hand out to help Kai up, feeling awkward as Kai didn't grab his hand but instead continued to stare in disbelief.

Master Wu gave a warm smile, his gaze resting on everyone. "That being said, you all did wonderful and have clearly improved since the last time I have seen you all." Lloyd could see a few smaller smiles being exchanged between the ninja. Lloyd looked back over to where Nya and Loid was only to freeze.

His father. Not HIS father, but he wasn't even that different from the father Lloyd used to know. Garmadon met Lloyd's eyes with a look he couldn't place to any specific emotion. Lloyd looked away. He could feel his hands shaking from just meeting Garmadon's eyes.

"... Lloyd, how long have you been training with your green energy power?" Master Wu asked, staring right at Lloyd. He thought for a few moments. "5 years? Give or take a lot actually there were a lot of circumstances that made it difficult to track..." Lloyd answered, unsure of how he should go about answering that. He wasn't keen on explaining why he was several years older than Loid or why he wore green instead of gold.

He could tell that everyone knew he was hiding something, they just didn't know how much he wanted to keep under wraps. For now, Lloyd's lips stayed shut.

"It's nearly 7 and it looks like these winds won't be getting any better soon," said Garmadon. Lloyd gave another flinch from being startled, if anyone noticed, no one gave any indication. "Let's head inside and prepare dinner."

As everyone started to walk inside, Lloyd let himself take another deep breath, doing his best to ignore the bite of the wind.

Just a few more weeks, he told himself. It can't be much longer. But there is always the chance another portal can never be opened again, a lingering thought in the back of Lloyd's mind made itself known. He shook his head.

He didn't want to think about that possibility.

who would win? ninjago 1v1s

so if all the ninja had one on one melee fights with each other, no powers allowed, who would win? this is a long post lolz

cole/kai cole is without a doubt the most physically strong of the group, but that doesn't mean that he's the best in a fight. I think that, since I'm trying to exclude the variable of their elemental powers for this, kai would be at a huge disadvantage. Not only because of Cole's strength, but also because Kai himself relies HEAVILY on his elemental powers. Not to say he couldn't hold his own but in this instance, I think that Cole would win.

cole/jay These two have fought before, but not without their powers. I don't know how based this is but in my heart and soul I believe that Jay is excellent at fighting. He's quick-witted, physically fast, and shockingly strong. Cole is much stronger than Jay physically, but I don't think It's quite enough. Jay would win, but it'd be a close call.

cole/nya I think that this'd be a very close fight. Nyas fighting style is very adaptive to her opponent, and Cole's fighting style is very defensive, typically he tries to finish a fight with one move after holding his ground and tiring out his opponent. Nyas tactic analysis is what would win her this fight, along with her ability to read Cole. She's close to him and good at figuring people out. It'd be very very close but Nya would win.

cole/lloyd Lloyds greatest strength is his endurance. He's good at staying on his feet and continuing to fight. He'd pack punch after punch until Cole decided he needed the fight to end. But the move that he expects to take Lloyd out only knocks him off his game for a second, and Lloyd would take the win.

cole/zane I think that this pairing is a bit unfair, for the nindroid. Zanes expertise lies in accurate attacks and Coles expertise lies in defense. Zane would lose the fight.

kai/jay Jay is, in my humble opinion, the best fighter of the team. I think that Kai, though he's not the strongest at combat, would win this fight. He'd use a grapple move on Jay which is something that he was Not expecting. Because if you can't kick him down, might as well pick him up, amirite?

kai/nya Nya would win this fight. In seconds. She spent so much of her early combat training as Samurai X, she didn't even know about her elemental powers for a long time, so it's safe to say that she is not nearly as reliant on them as Kai "Asphera stole my fire so im useless now" Smith. He'd swear up the walls that she cheated. (but he's very obviously proud of her)

kai/lloyd I think that this fight would go on longer than Kai and Nyas fight. Lloyd could probably also take Kai out pretty quickly, but the leader in him would want to use it as a learning experience. He'd make Kais mistakes obvious through his actions and he'd continue the fight until Kai's nearly taken the victory before winning himself. He's not just gonna let him win, but he's not gonna demolish him either.

kai/zane At the start of the fight, Kai would take Zane off guard. It looks like he's going to win easily but in the end that isn't the case. Kai would start with immediate aggressive attacks and Zane wouldn't be prepared. He's used to analyzing his enemy before he truly starts fighting and most opponents give him a fair few seconds of stillness before any action starts, but not Kai. In the end, Zane would win by exploiting some shitty footwork on Kais behalf.

jay/nya I think that this fight would go on for quite a while, probably the second-longest match. Mostly because they're both enjoying themselves too much. I think that any time one of them would be close to taking the victory, they'd give their opponent the chance to catch their breath/balance/composure to continue more fairly. Jays fighting style consists of strong fast and creative blows. Nyas fighting style really depends on who she's facing but in this fight, I think she'd take the approach of deflecting attacks back onto the attacker. Like, Jay throws a hard punch and instead of dodging or blocking, she uses his forward momentum to make him fall on his face lol. I think that in the end, they'd realize that they're both running out of stamina and they decide "no more holding back, let's go for the win" and Jay would win with a knee to Nyas sternum.

jay/lloyd This fight would look pretty evenly matched at the beginning, but as it drags on Jay loses his speed and his mind slips. Like I said, Lloyds main strength is his stamina, he's learned that if he can draw out a fight, he'll have an advantage. It'd be an intense fight but eventually, Lloyd would win. Probably the most entertaining one to watch.

jay/zane I think that this fight could go either way, honestly. I think that Zane would land a blow thinking that he's won and let his guard down, only for Jay to be a lot more resilient to pain than he expected (who knew the littlest bitch he knew could take a good punch) and Jay would win by surprise.

nya/lloyd I think that Nyas strategy with Lloyd would be to take him out as quickly as possible, because she knows that if she can't do that then he'll win in the long game. I think she'd play dirty with this fight. maybe she'd go for a weak ankle or target an old injury. Not because she really wants to hurt Lloyd ofc, but because she knows it's really the only way she'd come out on top. Though in the end, Lloyd would win. it'd be a VERY close fight though. they'd both be close to taping out once or twice before the end.

nya/zane While fighting against Zane, Nya would try and use the element of surprise to her advantage. She knows Zane's playing 8d chess in his brain at all times, and the only way to catch him slipping is to do some weird shit that NO ONE could expect her to do. like,,, he goes in for an attack and she bloody murder screams, catching him (and everyone watching) off guard. Nya would be the victor, but in future battles, the strategy wouldn't work twice against him.

lloyd/zane This would be the closest fight. Lloyds strategy of relying on his stamina wouldn't really be of use against Zane, seeing as he's a literal nindroid, but that's just How He Fights. Zane would use that to his advantage, letting Lloyd think that he was wearing him down for long enough until he could take him out with one well-placed kick. This fight would go on the longest and everyone would be on the edge of their seats watching. Zane would win.

Show Log: Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu Pt.2

If you don't know the drill these are my thoughts opinions and reactions during my first watch through of Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu. I made one of these a couple of days ago and I'm back with so many more thoughts. Also spoilers, duh, for up to the episode listed below, and please no spoilers! We good? Good.

Season 2 Episode 14:

• I told you I'd riot. Grab your pitchforks my boy has lost his whimsy. I'm damn near certain at this point.

• Lloyd Garmadon loves his dad and genuinely believed that he'd break through to him, and he did, for a moment, but then his dad, who Lloyd believed to be all powerful, failed to fully break through.

•The pain in Lloyd's eyes (shut up shut up shut up, I know they're Legos) as the Overlord took control again and told Lloyd his father was gone. The way the line was delivered to be saw raw and wrong as Lloyd got overwhelmed and lost consciousness.

• The way he limped over to the shoreline immediately after waking up and how serious he's gotten. I just-- why must you torture my boy, he's just a kid.

• Give him one parent but take away another I think the fuck not. (I'm conflicted more on Lloyd's mama later) Give my boy his dad back, please.

• I think the only reason they aged Lloyd up was so that much pressure and stress wasn't portrayed on a literal elementary school aged kid. But guess what, and say it with me, 14/15 year olds are still just kids and should not be put in life changing and traumatizing scenarios.

• Additionally, destiny was talked about like a deity this episode, if "destiny" has a form as the Overlord did this episode I will give a swift kick to the groin for my boy Lloyd because what the ever loving fuck? The baby, the boy, my boy.

• Also Nya. My blorbo, my babygirl, my favorite girl. They turned her evil??? They turned her evil.

• SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DIDN'T FALL OFF THE CLIFF. Not cool. Not fucking cool.

• But she called after both Jay and Kai as they fell which is very important to me. It shows that she cares about both of them when in other media the "damsel in distress" might only call after her love interest, a lame trope imo.

• She then got kidnapped and fed pure darkness. Like what the hell? Not my Nya, not my girl. The boys are fucked, truly, they lost their girl. The one that makes them tech and upgrades their shit with better combat skills shown canonically, they're so screwed.

• I'm fairly certain she could've kicked their asses but whatever invincible soldiers with their invincibleness and Nya without any super weapons or tech.

• She said goodbye forever but istg if Jay and Kai don't rescue her and find a way to bring her back I'm gonna send a strongly worded email to Ninjago productions and explain why they single handedly ruined their show.

• Because brilliant, beautiful Nya has on multiple occasions carried the entirety of the Ninjago Masters and they would collapse without her. Additionally I believe good written women in what is primarily a show written for boys is incredibly important because it portrays women as complex and strong people which they fucking are.

• Also Jay's character writing is giving me whiplash (more on that later) but I think he's back to normal now?

• Nya got kidnapped and he lost his shit as any good boyfriend would do. They kiss but haven't put a label on it and Nya means the world to him and it shows in the show consistently. Very nice, I appreciate.

• I feel like Kai's reaction should've been a little stronger after they all fell into the sea, because him screaming Nya's name and then acting calm and rational was, ngl, kinda weird kinda suspect.

• but then again no one believes in Nya more than Kai. Kai knows his sister and that she is stronger than most of the team and smarter than most of them too.

• That being said it feels likely that he felt a need to stay strong and focused so they didn't all fall apart as well which with my interpretation forgives the initial reaction.

Season 2 episode 6 - 13:

• Lloyd's mom dropped him off as a baby to the Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys. As a baby. I was right. His attachment style is anxious avoidant. It's plain as day when he interacts with his mom.

• At least she's back now and supportive as she appears to love her son. Hopefully she's not evil and doesn't betray him. I don't think she is so far she's pretty motherly and seems to have a thing for Wu.

• She's a homie hopper. Likes both brothers.

• It's not cool how she said she chose the wrong brother though because Lloyd wouldn't have been born is what I got from that, my own mommy issues peeking through I presume. But Lloyd is such a good boy, legitimately, so he deserves appreciation.

• Also I'm pretty sure Lloyd doesn't get what's going on between Wu and his mom because when he asked her "So how'd you meet him" she replied with "Who, Wu?" And he went "what? no. My dad.😐"

• This proves, to me, that his mind is not at a teenager level of development yet as his body is. That or he has no exposure to romantic situations and therefore doesn't know the social cues. Yet again, my boy didn't deserve this and also he's just like me fr fr?

•Zane's dad is alive!!! Woohoo!! And he's adorable an adorable inventor.

• And the sanest insane person I have ever seen. I mean mans went I'm not a fighter and then proceeded to fly the blimp into Garmadon's face. I love him.

• Also his story reminds me of the Greek myth of Icarus and Icarus' dad. Because he was locked in a tower gaurded by a monster and told to invent in order to see his son again.

• I am in love with Zane's dad. Literally like 💍🧎

• He's so, y'know smart and loving and shit. He's also ambitious, patient and slightly insane so my type.

• If there are more parallels I'll cry. *death glaring at Zane* please don't fly too close to the sun I will be annihilated on spot.

• Cole is so comfortable with his dancing now, not him moonwalking and singing over enemies after he got his weapon back he's so silly.

•Just a little guy who likes to sing, dance, and beat up bad guys.

• Why did they turn Jay's idiot meter up so high?

• Like my mans was fully just dumb dumb baby there for a bit there. "I don't pack clean undies. Like my mommy advices cause real men only wear one :P."

• Like bbg. No. Nya deserves better, you have to keep using that brain you goofy goober, you can't just lose you braincells because she likes you---- *sudden self-realization* oh no...

it has been five million billion years since Feli's Ninjago Season Review, but i just finished crystalized. so.

tldr. i watched the first part Some Time Ago and dont recall how i felt outside of "yeah i liked it", the middle section of the season rlly dragged, but the last bit was really good

iirc my main complaint with the nya rescue arc was how it absolutely TRASHED skylor. she BARELY had any speaking lines and was basically just there as a Back Up Zane to keep nya from melting and i hated that. however the last third of the season rectified this by giving her an actual cool moment when she rescues kai and cole, as well as an actual character moment.

like you have the pixane and jaya reunions back to back so kai's talking with skylor again, he still likes her, he tries to ask her out, and she rejects him on grounds of "dude do you know how long it's been?" and both sides here are understandable. like yeah considering everything that happened the past seasons kai rlly didn't have time for a relationship but also skylor is RIGHT to be frustrated he just wants to go back to like. s7. after so long. and it gives the sense that things between them COULD work but they need some time to be friends again first. i like that.

generally all the canon couples were great ESPECIALLY in the last third. the ice emperor as an insane comedy bit was fantastic actually and also rlly funny how pixal just didnt even grieve this time. she did that in s12 already she's just gonna go fix him up np. HOWEVER when her backup squad gets ready to roll and zane isnt repaired yet and she has this monologue abt how zane's sacrifice for her made her more than just a machine and showed her love and she loves him SO much and she gives him a lil kiss and leaves and then he wakes up. i dont CARE if true love's kiss is nonsense for robots it was CUTE i love pixane

"If there is a life after this for beings such as you and I... I will find you there." AURGH paraphrasing the quote here but do you SEE why pixal is my favorite ninjago character ever. i love her so much. my pixal stan instincts got reactivated i did nearly cry at that scene.

third couple jaya also has cute moments. the season shows a lot how they make each other stronger and cover each other's doubts and jay's encouragement giving nya the confidence she needs to regain her abilities is just cute. you can see a lot of skybound-isms esp in how the mechanic ends up goading her saying she's not a "real" ninja (like e.g. how she doesnt get a dragon form) but she kicks his ass anyway cuz it doesnt matter whether she has powers it matters that she gives her all always <3 yayyy

ok next up talking abt MY GIRL HARUMI YEEHAW.

i like her arc this season there's a lot of conflicting elements to her. first of that she for real just DIED is extremely interesting. there's always a juxtaposition of what harumi believed and what was actually true (her thinking lloyd never looked for her when he actually spent so long sifting through rubble the others had to drag him off cuz they had to go find the oni) and i think the climax of that being her hearing from the horse's mouth that the ninja (and lloyd) were never responsible for all she blamed them for was great. like already she was torn on lloyd and i feel like her in the jungle with lloyd seeing that she CANT win his trust back ever again like this did actually like. affect her on some level. she cant trick him anymore she has to live with the consequences of her actions and see that she fucked up. good. her dynamic with the overlord obvs parallels her dynamic with garmadon in s8/9 in how she's his right hand most competent underling whatever but whereas she admired garmadon she doesnt like the overlord and helps him out of fear for her continued existence cuz he DID give her life again and he could take it away just as easily.

but in that sense garmadon initially gave her "life" back too when her parents died and she needed something to hold onto so her opposing the overlord finally means she's taking the reigns and acting without some grand figure in mind but just for herself and what she believes is right

okay next up lloyd. lloyd is SO fucking bitter and angry this season which is a contributing factor to the dark (tiring) tone of the middle third and it does grate but it's understandable. i know some people dont like his new dynamic with garmadon cuz it basically retcons sensei garm who we all love yadda yadda but the new garmadon does have to be seen as his own independant character and if you do he's pretty compelling. anyway lloyd's anger. lloyd fucking HATES garmadon in this which is Delicious. obviously consequence of the hunted trilogy and i like that. lloyd is OVER grieving what could've been and what he lost. he hates what remains and he doesn't want anything to do with garmadon.

except garmadon is showing signs of change. that even though the good part of him remains dead that what's left can still recover and learn compassion and i think why that frustrates lloyd so much is that he hates that this compassion doesn't extend to himself. that though garmadon cares about other things now garmadon still doesnt care about lloyd. lloyd wants that young innocent part of him that always adored his dad to be dead and gone because becoming what was left of his father was his greatest fear for a LONG time now (firmly established in season 11!). but that part is still there. he still loves his dad and hates him at the same time and that's confusing and upsetting him.

christofern is a lloyd analogy obviously. like back in ye old days of the early seasons, lloyd was the only thing garmadon cared about and the catalyst for garmadon's first redemption. even when lloyd withers he comes back. he tries again. ninja never quit just like that damn fern never dies yeah <3

garmadon and lloyd are BOTH kings of poor emotional awareness in crystalized since garm is struggling to even understand compassion and kindness and love at all that he cant see that the part of him that loves lloyd isnt dead either. but the main part of him is just yelling "the green ninja is an enemy." lloyd gets FED UP cuz like if my dad called the girl who tried to murder me like a daughter when ignoring me i'd hate him too. but garm being so mean to lloyd to help lloyd with oni form is garmadon trying to care about him by making him stronger. and since oni form thrives on negativity garm is giving lloyd fuel. obviously this sucks ass and is bad for their personal relationship.

the interesting switch here is in the finale when garm gets lloyd to oni form by pretending to be dead cuz it shows on both their parts an awareness that they love each other. lloyd by showing anger over his father's supposed death and garm by knowing that faking his death would actually work. it means he knows lloyd still cares abt him. then again lloyd is SO fuckin right again to insult garm over this bcuz. dude. that is still emotional manipulation committed with few regrets and lloyd has had enough of that for a lifetime. king of getting manipulated and trying so hard to stay kind despite getting fucked over so often. pythor harumi garmadon. etc etc.

right what else. i cant fucking believe the season made ronin good again GOD BLESS in undoing some of the island's many sins. thank you for showing ronin isn't as selfish as he appears to be and showing up to help the ninja again cuz it's just the right thing to do. thank youuuuu

all the character cameos were great. again skylor (with some caveats), ronin, racer seven!!!! she was so fun!!! blazey hi!!! you're insane!!!!. using vinny's convo with garm from s10 (the best scene in march of the oni, actually) to springboard all of garm's redemption arc bcuz it DID deeply affect garm even in s10 and by extension making vinny a major supporting character. hilarious. fantastic. incredible. oh my god they were roommates.

i also always love the paperboys when they appear. can you BELIEVE they started out as "the random kid who broke his arm in skybound." ah how far they've come. thank you nelson and antonia for being great.

the other camoes at the end were EPIC N COOL like i do like that cole n nya succeeded despite thinking they'd failed cuz it plays into the never give up message but i AM disappointed that none of the cameos got ANY speaking lines cuz (voice actors cost money)

like no little quips no nice to see you again. not even vania fighting her dad? no benthomaar. the whole crew from across basically all of wildbrain era + some extras (how many seasons has it been since cole's dad appeared onscreen?) gave an incredible upswing to the dreariness but it just rings hollow when they dont even get to make noise. dead silent. eerie.

uhhh what else. again i think most of from after harumi and lloyd leave the jungle to wu meeting up with the paperboys fucking DRAGGED cuz it was just one loss after another after another after another and at some point its like DUDE WE GET IT YOU'RE INVINCIBLE. CAN WE GET THE MCGUFFIN ALREADY. but once wu got that upswing and the ninja all had their own little adventures it was good again and a consistently good time for the rest of the season i was enjoying it.

i agree that it def feels like lloyd's arc this season isn't rlly resolved at all. he doesn't embrace his anger or his heritage and is still firmly stuck on denying parts of himself. bcuz lloyd kept denying WHY he's angry and just dancing around it it only got worse. the other ninja had nice cap off points. the other one with the biggest arc is nya but her development mirrors s11 kai (as so helpfully pointed out by jay himself lmao) which ends with nya knowing once again that she doesnt need to be special to be needed and harkens back to ye old conflict "if I'm not a ninja and i'm not samurai x anymore, then who am i?" you're NYA and you're cool as hell that's what. she doesn't need to be anything as long as she can just DO what she has to do.

whereas lloyd is again still just. right in the middle of it.

i do like the ending of garmadon putting the fern in the ground bcuz again lloyd metaphor it means he acknowledges that lloyd's friendships aren't a weakness ("You need roots") and also symbolically he's letting go of lloyd instead of chasing the shadow of the child lloyd used to be. good stuff.

so. season has it's good moments has it's bad moments. it needed some time to find its footing but i like the callbacks to other seasons (A SUPRISING AMOUNT OF SKYBOUND THEMATICS??? a lot of this is skybound but better) and once it did find its footing it was really good.

master of the mountain is still my favorite season though.

I'm between Nya and Cole on this one (but I ended up going with Nya) so here's my reasoning

I immediately eliminated Jay. Even though he's absolutely my favourite ninja in a lot of ways, physically, he's probably the weakest. Just from what we've seen in the show. And also the most cowardly. (But I still feel bad about saying this and I love him)

Then Kai and Lloyd were out because I feel like, while they are skilled fighters, they do rely on their elements a lot more and don't have that much going for them otherwise. They are absolutely strong physical fighters, but not the strongest.

So it's between Cole and Nya for me. Who I think are characterised as the physically strongest ninja, and also the most mentally able to fight. Jay would freak out, probably Lloyd too, and Kai's not super great when he's without powers. Nya and Cole I think are just more... Chill. (In regards to not having access to their powers, not in general)

The thing about Nya is that she's very very strong willed. I think she'd just never give up, honestly.

Cole wouldn't give up easily, but I do think he could eventually.

The other thing about Nya is she's had her powers the least amount of time, and is the least reliant on them. She's also very smart. She's had to prove herself more than any of the other ninja.

Now I have a hard time not thinking I'm biased cuz even though I said Jay was my favourite ninja earlier so is Nya and Cole is too and also Kai and also Lloyd.

I don't really have a favourite ninja because they're all my favourite so honestly I'd feel equally guilty for picking any of them, but anyways yeah.

Physically, even though Cole might be stronger than Nya, I think she's got wits and determination MILES ahead of the others. That's just me tho.

Kai, Nya, Lloyd, Cole, and Jay fight without any powers. They have to fight to the death. Again, no powers, each with a basic weapon. Who would win? (Not including Zane bc he’s a nindroid, he’d win easily)
