ok i am curious about rex and i think you might've mentioned it before: how has her gender developed throughout their story, especially in meeting imtura and other orcs, etc? how was their gender perceived with humans vs later on and how did it affect her :3

OOO fun question, thank u!! I ended up rambling really bad but feel kinda bad answering an ask with a wall of text, so I'll give the tl;dr and put the rest under the cut hhaha

I'm not gonna interchange pronouns for the whole thing like I usually do for Rex LOL cause it's easier 4 me and also she wouldnt gaf

Rex was raised as a boy cause her adoptive parents couldn't tell if she was a boy or a girl when she was found. (I hc that all orcs have the same primary sex characteristics) Rex is made aware of this as a child but doesn't really have her 'oh wait im not just a guy im also a girl' moment when she starts being mistaken for a girl sometimes in her mid teens, after she started growing out her hair and wearing make-up and stuff because she liked it on her girlfriends.

Rex only really told those she's close to, but it's no secret either, she's just very indifferent about what pronouns and stuff people use for her so if people catch on that's nice, but if they don't it's whatever.

The only thing Rex is really 'strict' about is that she's Kade's brother and not his sister.

In Riverbend she never really changed her presentation, a mix of being hesitant to do this and just not really feeling the need to.

I'm still figuring out what I want my take on orcs to be like + feel like I need to replay the books first because I want to keep canon stuff in mind too, but don't think Rex is necessarily gonna change her perception on her gender identity once she interacts more with other orcs. But idk for sure yet! Because she does want to learn all about the culture and this will impact her and in the end gender is cultural too. (but also it's a thing that Rex does feel like an outcast among the orcs and doesn't fully fit into their culture + just generally lots of complicated feelings)

Things that do kinda apply tho: Imtura and Tyril are her first romantic relationships she had since figuring out her identity and there's something affirming about the way her relationships with them are vs the relationships she had with humans in Riverbend.

And also through Imtura + in shops on Flotilla she gets the chance to try on more feminine clothes that fit her frame and that way she gets to figure out her style more and does start branching out with clothes.

Because of the whole 'male orcs can get pregnant too'-thing I imagine the orcs all have like basically the same genitals and the difference between male and female orcs are secondary sex characteristics + some subtle differences that are present from birth (like horn color or something?). And humans aren’t widely educated on how to determine the sex of young orcs. (And even get it wrong often for adult orcs if they don’t present in a way that makes it easy to tell for humans)

When Rex and Kade were found, there were no other orcs that lived in Riverbend and so Rex’ parents just guessed she was a boy and decided to raise her like that. I imagine humans also just kinda view orcs as inherently more masculine so I think the thought process was also sorta like a boy would fit better or make her feel a little less like an outcast in the future? It was always sorta approached as like ‘Rex might feel differently in the future though’, and was sat down at around age 10 by her adoptive mom and was basically told ‘This is what we did when we found you but you get to decide what you are + the way your body changes the coming years might not match what you expect based off other boys’ and Rex was like ‘Ok.. I'm gonna throw big rocks into the lake now.’ (This feels so funny because it feels v like   modern accepting mom but I just didn’t really wanna go with anything like    she was also forced into being a manly man or whatever and it doesn’t feel v out of place because people seem chill with queer relationships in universe too)

As a child Rex was ‘a typical boy’ in a lot of ways, but she also really enjoyed playing with dolls and taking up feminine roles when playing pretend with other kids and stuff like that. 

I think due to being an orc she was at times perceived as more masculine than she really is? Like orcs just possessing a lot of qualities that are considered masculine by humans. (Like I always imagine a lot of humans would consider Imtura masculine while other orcs think she's pretty feminine) Rex never cared about being perceived as a man, like she’s just indifferent about it. Never like  let anything hold her back because it would make her seem effeminate or something like that. She also always felt more similar to tomboys than to boys.

When Rex went thru puberty and started getting a lot bigger she got real popular with The Girls and some boys in the village (attention she enjoyed lol). I think partly inspired by her girlfriends she also started experimenting more with her appearance, growing her hair out, wearing make-up and wearing jewelry whenever she wasn’t working. 

I think especially once she had long hair travelers passing through town would sometimes mistake her for a woman rather than a guy like everyone in town. Which she found she didn’t mind, she actually liked it. Felt important tho she doesn’t really understand why. Thinks it over for a while and basically decides to tell those closest to her that she figured out that she enjoys being referred to as a woman but also that she’s pretty indifferent about it all so like ‘do with that info what you want’. 

She insists that she’s still Kade’s brother tho, like she doesn’t want that to change. Kade often introduces her to new people like ‘This is my brother, her name is Rex.’ Rex doesn’t like turning it into a big deal or having a whole convo about gender, she’s always like  'dw about it, just be respectful'. She didn’t really start dressing differently after ‘coming out’. Genuinely doesn’t care about how people gender her or whatever, all that was important to her was that those closest to her knew. 

So that’s where she’s at when the story starts, like I’m not sure if it really ended up changing much after. I think Imtura (and Tyril) influenced it more in a way of like, Rex experiencing her first relationships after figuring herself out more + having relationships where she wasn’t expected to be ‘the man’ or whatever. And I think there was something affirming about that I guess? But also that feels like kinda one of those things where gender and being an orc intersect or sth?

I still haven’t really made up my mind about the whole orcs + gender stuff, especially because I’m planning to replay the series soon and will catch up with the lore then lol. I wish I had more to say haha 😭.

I was gonna start rambling about my ideas n shit so far but then I started rly derailing because it’s not really about Rex anymore, so I’ll leave it for another post, perhaps once I’ve replayed the books. Like when I try rn I find myself going back n forth a lot like ‘oh but that makes no sense, why would they do this or that? why would they be like that though..’ 

I honestly don’t think it’ll change anything for Rex though, like she’s already done all the self discovery when it comes to gender when she lived in Riverbend (tho I definitely think it would've been interesting if it hadn't been that way LOL but yeah). And it’s more gonna be like   general culture stuff that’s gonna have her feel all sorts of ways (identity crisis, disappointment that she still feels like an outcast, shame that she’s an orc but feels like she doesn’t know how to be an orc, the whole ‘human in an orc body’-thing but also healing + connecting to people she’s biologically related to who can tell her about her mom)

I think through Imtura letting her try on clothes + in shops on Flotilla Rex gets to try on more feminine clothes that fit her frame for the first time ever and that’s how she starts figuring out/expanding her style more. Like I always imagined her mom offering to make her a dress, but Rex declining because she’s not sure if she’ll like it and then all that time and fabric would’ve been wasted. I think Rex especially loves dresses and stuff for like special occasions, like the circumstances aside, she’s excited to dress up for that ball in undermount and there’s definitely something gender affirming about it.

EXO Baekhyun: Cry for Love Part 1

Boldly writing this very unlikely scenario about baek. Part of me just feels like there might be a part of baek that might be in such a situation if he ever feels so deeply for someone that is not be able to handle the stress of dating an idol.

Using the song title of one of my favourite songs from his latest album for this~ there’s going to be 2 parts(hopefully not 3), and just a disclaimer the ending might not be fluff, so don’t get started if you’re not prepared !

Part 2

Characters: Baek x You

Baekhyun finds himself falling for you, but feels he cannot be so selfish to put the burdens of dating an idol upon you. In an attempt to control his feelings, he tries to stay away from you

Standing across the narrow road opposite to Wendy Cafe, Baekhyun looked intently inside, with a sort of sourness at the back of his throat. This is at least 5th time this guy has been here, and it’s been the second time this week already. His inner self was literally scowling at that thought, but what could he do?

His phone that vibrated in his pocket called him out of his thoughts. It was a call from his manager, asking him to return to the SM building.

Taking one last look at you, at the guy, and at the cafe, he placed both his hands back in his pocket, head facing down and walked back to where his car was.

During the ride back, he thought long and hard, was this the right thing to do?  Just 4 months ago, was the first step into the cafe the beginning to this unwanted path ?

He can’t help but replay once again all that started 4 months ago...

‘Bye! See you next week!’

Ending his gym session for the week, baekhyun headed for the carpark, eager to get there quickly. Today, he was to be home for a family dinner.

He had been up till late yesterday, practicing and preparing for EXO’s new album. With just 4hours of sleep, his ruined body clock woke him up in time for a gym session in the afternoon. Beating himself to be disciplined so that he can show his best image to Eris during the comeback, he got himself to the gym. 

But now, the sweat from the gym session coupled with his sleep debt, was making him feel extra sleepy.

Needing some caffeine in his system, he stopped his car by the roadside to search up coffee houses nearby. Scrolling through, Starbucks -too crowded , dal.kom- he was not a fan , Daebak Coffee and Tea - seems very popular among reviews, Wendy Cafe - no reviews.

Feeling it’s best to avoid crowded cafes on a Friday afternoon, he decided to give Wendy Cafe a try. Following the voice of Google maps, he found himself along a narrow road, secluded and outcasted from the bustling roads just 2 minutes ago.

‘Am I at the right place? Why would someone open a cafe here?’ He loudly spoke in a typical monologue with himself

Just as he was about to give up, a small signboard peeked out from the brick wall stretching along the road.

‘Ah yes, found you! I hope I didn’t make the wrong choice’

After parking his car, he crossed the road to the cafe.

Wendy’s Cafe was clad in wood and white, wooden tables, white chairs, surrounded by grey walls. It was so small only about 6 people could be seated by the tables. To make up for it, a counter-side table was made available and soft music played in the background. Walking in, Baekhyun felt a comfortable sense of peace and relax.

‘Hello, 1 Ice Americano please’

‘Hello, that will be $5.. omo’ Just as you looked up at him, you were shocked to recognise him as Baekhyun from EXO. But you quickly recovered in time, taking the money from him and continued your chores.

Seeing that you have recognised him, he nodded politely. He appreciated your politeness and professionalism to not overreact. And proceed to wait patiently for his coffee.

‘Thank you, have a nice day’ you smiled brightly at him and handed the coffee over.

Just then, it started pouring heavily outside, stopping Baekhyun in his tracks.

‘Should I drive back now ? It’s a long journey back and it’s raining so heavily ...’ he thought

‘Do you want to wait out the rain instead? It’s not too safe to drive in such heavy rain. No one comes here on rainy days, I can put out the close sign for you if you like’ 

You asked rather sincerely 

Looking out again at the rain, he weighed his choices. He was going to be drenched if he crossed the road but what if you were one of those fans that would expose where he was to everyone? 

He was feeling a little suspicious inside, afterall why would you close the shop to business just for him?

‘You can take the table furthest away from the window if you’re worried’

He looked at you, judging a book by it’s cover. And decided it doesn’t appear like you would turn out to be one of those crazy fans and took the option of waiting out the rain. 

His phone was running out of battery, so instead of sitting by the corner table all bored and lonely, Baekhyun sat on the bar counter table instead; facing you and the other male employee who were busy with fresh bakes.

You presented a bite size muffin on a white plate and gave it over to him. ‘It’s on the house, we’re not going to have any more customers anyway’

Being curious since the start, he asked ‘why would your boss open a cafe right here? It’s really not the best location to be attracting people right?’

Laughing slightly, you replied

‘My boss? That would be me, and does this cafe look like I want to attract people in? The tables are all for 2s, I’m just encouraging solitude here’

‘You own this place? Wow I would suppose you’re only in your early 20s right? Anyway this place does give a sense of quietness that we dont quite get outside. I like it’ He lively replied

‘Yeah, I just wanted people that come by to be able to stop and find quietness they don’t get anywhere else. Finding time for themselves to be away from noisy city life just a few minutes away’

Not really having anything to say to that deep thought of yours, he simply replied ‘Ahh... I see. Uh, thanks for muffin, it smells tasty’

You smiled politely and left him to himself as you cleaned up the open kitchen.

The rain that was beating the ground outside was almost like a lullaby to Baekhyun. The warmth of the shop and the music aided the rain and drowsy effects he was having, shortly without knowing, he drifted to sleep. --

‘Baekhyun ssi, Baekhyun ssi’ you tapped him lightly till he woke up

‘It stopped raining, do you want to head off’

‘Oh my , can’t believe I slept, but that was certainly the quietness I need, haha. I’ll be leaving. Thank you for the coffee’

As he left, he thought to himself that he will surely be back.

A week later, he came back. On that day, he saw from outside that you were casually sitting down by on of the tables, chatting with a middle age office lady.

Opening the door, he caught your attention and you smiled slightly to acknowledge. As you were the only working employee today, you got up from the table to serve him.

‘Hi Baekhyun ssi, I see you’re back. Ice americano for you? Or would you like to try something else? Wendy’s special for a bright sunny day’

‘Sure I’ll go for the Wendy’s special’

Handing over the coffee to baekhyun, you asked

‘I heard EXO’s preparing for a comeback. How’s it going for you?’

‘Did you search up on EXO after you saw me last week? Hahaha. Anyway it’s fine, it’s just the discipline in diet, exercise and health that’s annoying’

‘I see. And nah, don’t make me sound like a stalker fan please. I just moderately keep up with kpop in general’

‘Anyway is the middle age lady there your friend? Or do you just chat with your customers all the time?’

‘Oh, she’s just a customer. Really depends though, some people come here seeming to have heavy thoughts, sometimes when I notice I’ll just casually chat with them. Some others are here really putting up a do not disturb sign. Those I wouldn’t bother’

Being cheeky, Baekhyun asked ‘what about me?’

You thought for a while before answering

‘Like a cat? Like those I would give some affection to before letting them run off so they don’t start scratching me. I mean not saying you would be aggressive, but rather, I’m sure a good balance of chat and quietness would be best for you’

Raising his brows and thinking through what you just said, he smiled after a while and went on sipping his Wendy’s special by the counter again. Occasionally, he would look up from his phone to chat with you.

For that 1 month, it seems like he started developing a routine to drop by your cafe for short breaks. He enjoyed your company and somehow your cafe seemed like a place of comfort and refuge. With you, he could talk about anything, from the laughters to the deep insides. Over there, the burdens of being an idol is always momentarily lifted.

On the first week of the 2nd month you guys met. He dropped by again, only to find that the lights were off. A little surprised, he went up to the door which pasted a notice

‘the shop will be closed till further notice due to the owner’s personal reasons. Sorry for any inconvenience caused’

His regular high spirits whenever he came by was dampened as he read the notice. Turning back, he headed off.

The next two weeks, he drove by repeatedly, at least 2 times a week, but your shop was still closed.

It made him a little worried, did something happen to you? But seeing how you left this shop behind with just a notice also made him feel a little down, strangely. It made him think that was he nothing but just a customer to you? He had thought you guys were friends, friends with a special bond, one who he could tell everything to, and place so comfortable almost like his home sofa. But the sign that hung coolly by the cafe’s door left no sign of that friendship held.

Whenever he wasn’t working or was by himself, he pondered over what happened to you. Looking at his phone, he suddenly felt a disconnect. You both knew so many things bout each other but not each other’s numbers. There was nothing to call to reach you. Wherever you are, were you thinking about what you left behind?

He thought to himself 

let’s not be too invested into this coincidental friendship

He made up his mind, tomorrow he was going to make a final intentional trip down. If you were still closed, he told himself he would never drop by intentionally again just to check if you were open.

Driving by the next day, his heart was beating fast. And was as if the heavens heard his words, the lights of your cafe were on.

The sign outside still hung closed, but he walked briskly over and stood by the door. You saw him and beckoned him inside.

‘Hey! What’s up with you? Where did you go? ’ Within him he heaved a sigh of relief, finally seeing you again. But his heart wouldn’t stop racing as he waited for your answer. Looking at your face, he can’t help but notice you’ve lost some weight, making him a little worried.

‘Hey Baekhyun ssi, it’s nice seeing you again’

You smiled at him your normal smile and there was no hint of anything extra apart from the normal customer service you gave him. Your lukewarm reply bothered him a little, was he the only one who considered you both as friends? That thought came but left quickly

‘I went home to visit my parents, unfortunately I fell ill. Pneumonia.. Got me in bed for a really long time’

‘Oh no, no wonder you lost some weight? I hope you’re feeling much better already. But you’re not opened today?’

‘Yes I just came back to tidy up this place.’

Not really wanting to leave yet, he offered to clean the place for you, also worried you might not be feeling the most recovered yet.

‘Do you want to have dinner together tonight?’ Baekhyun asked on impulse.

You looked up, a little surprise, but didn’t reject it. 

‘Probably not at restaurants or something though. Delivery , do you mind?’ He added

You were never someone who seemed bothered about such trivial things, as expected you agreed.

Over dinner Baekhyun was his chirpy self again, telling you about all he wanted to say the few weeks you guys didn’t met. You listened to him without much words, only saying words when it mattered, as usual.

As you guys were eating and chatting, there came a point where a comfortable silence settled between you both.

Till you broke it

‘Baekhyun ssi, can I share something with you?’

Though he wasn’t expecting this, he was ready to listen.

‘Go ahead’

‘When I went back, I found out my one and only best friend had died in a car accident. And no one told me because they were afraid I wouldn’t be able to handle it alone in Seoul. He.. was all I had.. when I was bullied because people thought I was weird... when I didn’t fit in... he.. he..’ you couldn’t continue as you burst into uncontrollable tears.

Handling such situations was definitely not something Baekhyun was most comfortable with. Catching him off guard, he internally panicked, Omo, what do I do. What should I say? Deciding the only appropriate thing to do was to pat your back or your head. He reached out and gently comfort you, feeling a little awkward.

After a good 3 minutes you finally calmed down. But still, Baekhyun didn’t exactly know what to say to a crying girl

‘Are you feeling better? Care for some BingBing now? Ice cream cannot solve your problems, but it’s sweet at least ’

You managed a laugh, and Baekhyun went to the kitchen fridge to pull out the ice cream that came with the dinner earlier.

On the drive home, Baekhyun decided that sometimes a friend is the ultimate remedy to sorrow. And as much as you have been there to hear him out, he wanted to pay it back to you too.

But slowly, their comeback preparations were getting more and more hectic. He no longer had the liberty of time to plan what he wanted to do. But today, there was a short 2 hour interval of free time and they were free to do whatever they wanted.

Deciding between whether to crash at dance practice room or to head to your cafe, he decided to do the latter instead. Though he was feeling rather tired, it has been at least 3 weeks since he came by to say hi. He left after telling suho he’ll be back swiftly.

Reaching your cafe, he was surprised to see you smiling and laughing so heartily as you were chatting by the counter with a fashionable young man. When you both spoke, you were always giving him polite smiles and laughters, somewhat out of manners? It somehow hurt his pride a little that while he still thought about you when he was away, did you just think of him as a normal customer who would just come and go? It made him feel like his spot in the cafe was easily replaceable.

As he entered, you did not even break away from the conversation you have with the young man. Only until he reached the counter did you look up.

‘Ah! It’s you! It’s been really long! What would you like today ?’

‘6 Iced americanos, thank you’

‘Alright you can take a seat at the corner table first’ handing him his change , you pointed him to the one at the furthest end of the shop.

He came by having the intention to have a short catch up with you, but apart from the exchange of greetings you had pointed him so far away from the counter and busily went off to prepare the amercianos as if he really was just another customer. He laughed a little bitterly and went to sit where you told him to.

When you were done, you brought the coffee to him and dropped to a whisper suddenly.

‘Baekhyun ssi, are you doing well? Sorry I had to cut our conversation short at the counter because of the oppa sitting there. Didn’t want to bring you trouble in case I accidentally say your name’

Smacking himself on the head internally for being so sensitive earlier on, inside of him also wondered what kind of magic does that ‘oppa’ have for you to be so comfortable? The friendship has almost been 3 months but there always seem to be a strange distance between the both of you. Baekhyun knew himself that his personally was not one people found hard to warm up to and neither did he take very long to warm up to others. He was confused, how sometimes your friendship felt so close yet sometimes so far.

‘How have you been? That guy’s your new customer friend?’

‘Not too bad, I started attending some baking classes and in my free time now I just read as usual. Nothing much as changed.

Yeh he’s been coming quite often because he’s back in this area to visit his parents and there’s nothing for him to do’

‘Ahhhh so what kind of customer is he?’ He arrowhead his eyes at him then back to you.

Laughing you replied ‘ just a really funny and nonsensical kind. Kind of just reminds me of my childhood friend I told you about.... oh right, there’s something I want to give you’

Rushing to the kitchen then quickly walking out, you handed him a box. You explained

‘Baekhyun ssi that day I was at a mall and i walked by this tea shop and I dont know why,I thought about you. It’s all without caffeine. I know you’re having your comeback now and you should be really busy. I purposely picked out some that would help you sleep, some that would revitalise you and just some others that could just help you relax.

I’ve kept it for so long but you didn’t come by again. I almost just kept it for myself already.. anyway I’m glad you’re here today so I could pass it to you’

Hearing this from you really made him touched on the inside, but on the outside he didn’t really know let those emotions show. Instead, he merely said

‘Thanks y/n ssi , for thinking about me. I’ll use them well.’ Looking at his watch , he added,

‘I got to go now, see you sometime soon!’

After saying the goodbyes, Baekhyun returned to his car. Setting his Americanos aside, he held the gift in his hand and looked through his driver’s window at you.

At that very moment he finally came to terms with his feelings.

He did not just want a friendship with you, he wanted you as a partner he could tell his everything to, someone that belonged to him and someone he belonged to.

This should make him feel happy and elated, warm and fuzzy. But there was discomfort lying in his heart.

Deep down he knew that desiring anything more than a friendship with you was putting chains on you.

You liked quietness and freedom. But in his world, parts of his life are made public and his freedom was not really freedom at all.

He cannot sink deeper into this, but could he stay away ? His heart clenched.

He tossed the gift aside and drove off.

Being pregnant with twins was certainly an experience for you. Being pregnant with twins after being impregnated by two Alphas was something else entirely. 

Mercifully for you, because of the pregnancy, it meant that you stopped going into heat. But when a bump had started showing, your alphas had turned to each other when their ruts had hit them.

This appointment you’d attended alone, their ruts having caught the three of you by surprise. Your doctor was surprisingly kind, a Beta. And she sensed a question that was burning your mouth. 

“Even if it feels stupid to ask, sometimes asking helps.” She encouraged gently. 

“Will their ruts hurt me or the babies?” And you felt the lone tear fall. She handed you a tissue with no hesitation. 

“No. It’s perfectly safe for both of them if they’re rutting. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is both of them. It won’t cause any damage from what we’ve seen in previous cases like yours, but it’s better not to take the chance. One of them, yes. Both of them, it’s not been proven to be dangerous but it’s not been proven to be safe either.” Her words were both comforting and frustrating. 

“They’ve been focusing on each other instead of you, haven’t they?” Her question wasn’t unkind, but the tears fell regardless. 

“It’s like they can’t even touch me any more and it’s driving me mad but they won’t listen. And I can hear them and it hurts to think like this because it draws back to the fears of just being a breeding purpose.” You’d never admit that to your Alpha’s. But some of the words that had been slung at you had stuck. 

“It might be presumptuous of me, but I can always put you in touch with a therapy service. It’s not to make you believe the rhetoric spouted by the bigots,” she cut in at your outraged look, “but to help you go through all of this. I might be a professional but even I recognised that both of your alphas are famous.” Her dry tone caused your face to grow warm and you hesitated. 

“I could maybe take a look.” You finally admitted quietly and she handed you a small card. 

“Don’t be too mad with them. They’re just thinking that they’re doing the right thing and are entirely misguided because of it.” 

You nodded your thanks to her before leaving, booking the next appointment. When you got into the car, you made the journey home, wondering if you could step into the house knowing that their scent was going to drive you crazy and they wouldn’t do anything about it. 

You could hear them as soon as you stepped through the door, and you steered your thoughts away from being rejected. 

But it didn’t make it hurt any less. 

Grabbing a blanket and a couple of pillows from the living room, you headed out to where the porch swing was, curling up and wrapping yourself in the blanket as you muffled the heartbroken tears that fell. 

Whether they knew they were hurting you or not, you couldn’t stop the pain, the loneliness. 

When the house fell silent, you pressed your face into the pillow, unwilling to give them worry. You weren’t too sure if you’d be able to face them at that moment. 

Taking the decision to stop your heart from breaking further, you called Luke. When he greeted you, you couldn’t find the words to ask if you could stay with him. 

But he understood. 

“I’ll be around in fifteen. At least tell your dumb alphas that you’re coming to mine or they’ll panic.” Part of you wanted them to panic, to feel that worry. But you hummed an agreement. 

When you made your way upstairs, it was quiet. When you stepped in your shared bedroom, joy tried to ignore the heartache at the sight of them wrapped up together, asleep. 

So you quietly packed some clothes and made your way downstairs, leaving a note on the kitchen counter for them to find when they woke up. 

Luke has arrived and once you were in the car and he was pulling away, you cried. 

“What are they doing, sweet thing?” And you told him everything.

When you’d arrived at his, Sierra was there to greet you, her concern melting into annoyance at your alphas. 

“They should know better.” She muttered as she took your hand and guided you inside.

When your bag had been set by the stairs, her arms drew you into a hug. Her touch felt wrong and yet you leaned into it because it was the first piece of physical affection you’d gotten and the small, sad thought caused the tears to fall. 

“Sweetheart.” Sierra’s concern was overwhelming and you held onto her tightly. And then it clicked for her when she caught a whiff of their scents on you. 

Without another word, she pulled you upstairs to the spare bedroom, her arms and body wrapping around yours as you cried. 

“Love?” Luke had followed helplessly behind, feeling at a complete loss of what to do.

“Babies?”

“Oh sweet omega, you were never gonna be able to  hide that from other Alphas. Luke here is just a bit slow on that uptake and scent change.” Sierra teased and you simply sighed in return. 

Eventually Luke crawled behind you and didn’t protest the other omegas touch.

“Is it wrong for me to say I’m glad that we don’t have a third?” Luke’s quiet huff instantly had guilt rushing through you.

“I wasn’t sure at first. But they were both so possessive, Kaykay more than Ashton, and I wanted them both. I guess there’s something guiding us with our mating, at least our attitudes. You wouldn’t have a third if you got jealous easily. They get jealous, yes, but when I’m not focusing on them after so long.” Your voice seemed to get heavier and Sierra tutted gently. 

“Questions later. Rest sweet thing. When can I expect your mates to start storming the walls?” 

The order wasn’t quite an Alpha’s order, but your body began to submit regardless. 

“Probably when they realise that I meant what I said when I told them I was spending a few days away.” You replied before you finally fell asleep. 

When you next woke up, you felt confused. You were still sandwiches between Sierra and Luke and your bladder was about to burst.

“Don’t worry. It happens. Let’s get some food started and this big lug of an omega should get up then.” 

You followed her downstairs, and watched as she began to make breakfast. You’d retrieved yourself phone from your bag to find the battery nearly drained as well a lot of missed calls. 

Plugging it into a charger, you opened up the texts from your mates, noting the apologetic tones. You sighed. 

“I guess they’re feeling sorry.” Sierra murmured and you nodded. 

“I know they are, but this, this is different.” You hummed and she nodded. 

“It is. You’re more than welcome to stay another night.” She murmured gently and you nodded in return. 

“I appreciate your hospitality.” The two of you shared a smile as you heard footsteps upstairs and she dished up the food. 

When Luke got downstairs, his hair was ruffled and he couldn't contain his yawn, but he greeted you with a grin before greeting his mate with a kiss. 

You looked away, the sharp pain giving you a shock, your hand reaching up to grasp over your heart.

Sierra was immediately in front of you, her hands cradling your face as you shrugged to take in any kind of breath. 

“You’re not going catatonic on us sweet thing. Yes your Alohas have been dumb but they’ll come back to you.” And your mind latched onto those words, the few tears that had fallen made you feel slightly guilty. 

“You shouldn’t have to deal with this. I’m sorry.” You whispered and she shook her head.

“Despite them being idiots, letting you fall into a catatonic state would make everything worse. And I’m certain your Alphas would rip me a new one.” She murmured as she cleaned your face free from the tears. 

You didn’t argue with her as she finally pulled away and returned to breakfast, your mind replaying her words over and over to ease the pain in your chest. 

“So I was thinking, maybe winding the two very dumb alphas up today, what do you say?” Luke’s question was so casual you very nearly didn’t pay attention to it, trying to keep your mind focused on the fact that they hadn’t rejected you. 

But you’d heard his words and felt that they deserved some worry. 

“Luke...” Sierra's tone was a warning and he grinned impishly at her. 

“We’re just going out. But you aren’t going to know where, and neither are they. I’ll take my phone so we can call if we need it, but today is an omega day.” He turned a cheeky smile in your direction and you tried to smile back, but it felt like a grimace.

“It’d be nice to be around people who don’t make me wanna throw up.” Both Alpha and omega snorted their drinks in laughter before the three of you went and got ready for the day. 

By the time the car was down the highway, you ignored the tug that was begging you to go home. You knew you were going to go home but you needed to teach them a lesson.

“Do you think if I asked, they’d move closer to the coastline?” You asked as the two of you got ice cream. Luke paid for you, much to your dismay. 

“I think they’d move to the ends of the earth if you asked them to. However I know that Ash has been looking at either selling up or expanding. Why the coast though?” You were walking along the parade, your arm looked through his as you hummed, trying to process your thoughts. 

“It just feels soothing. I know that it’ll be hell during tourist season but if we could find a quiet place with a nice sized garden along the coastline? It’d be ideal.”

The two of you finished up, heading back to the car. The sun was beginning to set and you knew that Luke had promised for the two of you to be back for dinner. 

You hadn’t expected to see Ashton’s car parked just outside of the driveway, causing your eyebrows to shoot up. You also didn’t expect to hear shouting from within the house when you stepped out of the car. 

“You two are thick fucking Alpha’s if you really believe that to be a way to treat your Omega!” Sierra’s voice cut through the air and you shared a look with Luke. 

“I guess she decided to give them the what for.” He muttered as the two of you made your way back inside. 

“We’d damage them or the babies, it’s why we-”

“Says who? Did you talk to your mate? Ask their doctor? I held your mate as they cried last night because of you absolute morons!”

The shouting had masked your entry back and you slowly made your way to the sound of the shouting. 

“If anyone should be shouting, it should be me.” You muttered as you stepped into the living room and three pairs of eyes snapped to you. Sierra smiled. 

The relief on Kaykay and Ashton’s faces made your anger surge. 

“You don’t get to look at me like that.” You snapped, causing both of them to reel back in shock. “Had you listened to me the first time, you’d have found out that it’s fine for you to be with me when you rut. Maybe not both together but individually, yes.” 

Their faces fell and you turned to Sierra. 

“I know you extended the invite for me to stay tonight, but I think we’d best get home.” She smiled and pulled you in for a hug. 

“You’re welcome back anytime.”

When Luke pulled you into a hug, you held on a little bit tighter. 

“We need more omega days.” He whispered before letting you go. 

“I did have the best day today. Thank you.” And he beamed.

“And we picked the wrong decision. I know our hormones and emotions were high yesterday, but when I said I was sorry, I meant it sweet omega. I accept your apologies and when I’m not so angry about it all, you know I’ll forgive you. But you have to promise me, both of you promise me that you’ll never do this again.”

“You have my word, little omega.” Ashton didn’t hesitate with his words, and you turned to Kaykay. 

“I promise you, sweetheart. It won’t happen ever again.” And you could hear the honesty in their words. 

“Good.” You felt petulant but being wrapped up in both of them felt too good for you to want to willingly be away from them.

Jisung shrugged his shoulders without taking his eyes off of his food. ”Until I finish this project.” 

You could only nod your head at the new information you just received. “Can I stay with you?” You then suggested with a smile.

“Of course, you can help me with it!” Jisung beamed.

“Help? I don’t know how to write lyrics.” You said with wide eyes causing Jisung to chuckle slightly at your reaction.

“You don’t have to help me write,” Jisung said, chuckling still. “You can help me with ideas, like inspiration and stuff.”

“And how am I going to help you with that?” You asked as you crossed your arms. 

Jisung shrugged his shoulders as he looked around his studio. “Just be yourself.” He said, smiling cutely. 

You only nodded your head with a smile in response. “Eat your food,” You said gesturing at the take out boxes. “It’s going to get cold.”

“You’re not going to eat?” He asked, looking up at you from his plastic box. You immediately shook your head in response. “I already ate, these are all for you.” You said as gestured for him to continue with his meal.

“No,” Jisung said as he picked up a dumpling. “At least have one.” He held the dumpling up to your mouth, waiting for you to take the first bite. You shook your head as your eyes stayed on the dumpling. You pushed his hand slightly away from you. “Eat it.” He said, holding the dumpling up to your mouth again. You shook your head once more, pushing his hand away. “Open,” Your eyes shifted between the dumpling in front of you and Jisung. “Open,” He repeated. 

“Fine.” You mumbled before opening up like asked.

“Good!” He beamed. 

After Jisung finished his meal, he continued to work on his project while you stayed on the couch scrolling through your phone. With nothing much to do in the studio, you slowly started to nod off on the couch behind Jisung. Seeing how peaceful you were, Jisung left you alone as he continued to work on his project.

Hours passed and you were still asleep on the couch. Jisung noticed it was getting late. He scooted next to you before poking your side slightly. He continued to poke you until you responded to his touch. 

Your face immediately scrunched up due to the light from above. “Go home, ugly, it’s late.” Jisung said as he pinched your nose slightly. 

“Late? What time is it?” You asked as you pushed yourself up from the couch. 

“It’s almost 11:30.” Jisung said looking behind him at his digital clock. He scooted his way over to his equipment and laptop. “By the time you get home, it’s going to be midnight.”

You quickly gathered your items in fear of missing the last bus. “You coming with?” You asked as you stood over him, trying to get a glimpse of what he was working on. Before you could even make out the first word, Jisung closed out his tab. 

“No, I still have a lot to do, you go home first.” Jisung responded looking up at you.

“Are you sure?” You asked getting a nod from him. “Alright,” You said as you made your way over to the door. “Don’t overwork yourself.” Jisung hummed in response.

“Call me when you get home.” Jisung said as you opened the door. You hummed in response with a smile before shutting the door behind you.

You just finished preparing for bed when you heard your phone ringing loudly from your desk. You looked at the caller ID to see Chan’s name. Your brows furrowed, perplexed to why he was calling so late. “Hello?” You greeted.

“Hey, (y/n)?” Chan responded. You hummed in response just as you sat back down on your bed. “Can you please check on Jisung for me? He locked himself in his studio. You’re the only one who has the key.” Chan explained. 

Hearing how worried Chan was got you anxious. “Did something happen? He seemed fine when I called him.” You pointed out. 

“He locked himself in there for over 36 hours, he hasn’t come out and I’m getting worried.” Chan pointed out.

“A-alright, I’ll go check on him.” You said as you slipped on your sneakers. 

“Thank you.” Chan said in relief. 

“I’ll call you later, okay?” You said getting a hum from Chan. You quickly threw on your hoodie before booking it out the door, grabbing your keys and wallet on the way out. 

Once you were in front of his studio door, you could hear music playing loudly. You quickly unlocked the door to see Jisung hunched over in his chair. “Jisung?” You called out for him as you made your way over to him. Jisung immediately hummed in response at the sound of his name. 

He remained focused on his screen, not responding much but a hum or a nod. “Jisung,” You said as you placed your hand on his shoulder. “How long have you been up?” You asked once you looked into his worn out eyes. 

His eyelids were hung low but you could see him making an effort to keep his eyes open. “42 hours!” Jisung beamed, smiling tiredly back at you.

“Jisung!” You scolded. “You need to sleep, come on,” You said trying your best to get Jisung up from his chair. 

Jisung shook his head before pushing himself back down on the chair. “Not until I finish this project, it’s for (y/n),” Jisung said giggling slightly to himself. “But don’t tell her.” He held his pointer finger up to his lips in a hushing motion. 

“Are you okay? You sound drunk, did you drink something?” You immediately asked, seeing the way he as responding. 

He shook his head once again before holding up an empty cup from the side. “Straight up coffee!” He exclaimed. 

You let out a sigh before responding, “Come on, you need to go home and sleep.” You tried your best to pull Jisung up from his chair again. 

“Have I told you that you’re beautiful? Like BEAUTIFUL?” Jisung asked emphasizing the last word with his eyes. 

“Yes, Jisung, you’ve told me many times.” You said playing along with his games. 

“Really?” He asked, sounding quite surprised. You hummed in response kicking the door closed behind you. “Then have I ever told you that I like you?” He then asked. You hummed in response as you nodded your head unknowingly, not really understanding what he just said.

“Of course, you like me, I like you.” You said before hitting the button for the elevator. 

“No,” Jisung protested, looking at you with his sleepy eyes. “I like you, a lot.” Without even giving you a second to process what he had just said, he continued. “And not as best friends too.” He said with a smile. “I like you, like you. AAAAA LOT.” He emphasized with his hands. 

“Are you sure, it’s only 42 hours? You’re starting to hallucinate. You’re saying some weird things.” You said trying to brush off what he said was due to his lack of sleep. Before he could say anything else, you immediately shushed him. You carefully guided him into the taxi. “You’re tired,” You said as you pushed his head down onto your shoulder. “Rest here until we’re home.” You said. 

Jisung mumbled an okay as his tiredness started to catch up with him. During the duration in the car, everything was completely silent. Nothing could be heard but the sound from cars speeding by. The silence pushed you into thinking about what he said before. 

The scene from earlier replayed in your head over and over. "I like you, like you." You repeated to yourself quietly. There's no way. He's probably just saying nonsense. He's tired, he hasn't slept in almost two days. Yeah... He probably didn't even mean it... 

Once both of you arrived at Jisung's building, you slowly and carefully guided his body out the car and up to the ninth floor. "We're almost home." You said quietly looking over at Jisung who was leaning on you for support. You carefully set him on his bed before throwing his blanket over his body. You sat down near his bed as your thoughts began to fill your mind once again. 

What would you do when he wakes up?

Newly revealed attributes of librarians: they are either personally capable of making decorative signs, or they are capable of persuading others to do so. They are capable of speaking English. They also possess creativity.

Carlos just leaning over with a spatula and just being like “Oh yeah, that’s a mirage.” is significantly funnier to me than it should be.

For some reason the phrasing I accidentally used above and the fact that Kevin’s show’s opening music sounds like Christmas music makes me want to make a parody of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” with “StrexCorp is Coming to Town”. (I did it. I wrote it. Someone needs to stop me.)

Okay, ep 33 (Cassettes) was disturbing, but I’m mostly concerned with the fact that Cecil can apparently break cassette tapes with his bare hands. I know those aren’t super sturdy but that still shouldn’t be that breakable.

Okay, I know Stop Sign Immunity is a bad idea. But if I ran a town and had no restrictions on what laws I could implement and enforce, there’s a chance that’d end up on the books.

Okay, the voice that possessed Cecil during his broadcasts about The Woman from Italy makes me think of Dr. Doofinshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb. Heading to work you were walking through the city streets, repeating the things you've been now repeating in your head for over two years. Keep your head low, avoid eye contact, your hood on and your face covered. Avoid all restaurants, cafés, larger shopping centers and any larger public places. Don't talk to anyone for longer than five minutes and never two days in a row, or they will memorize your face. Pay in cash and in cash only, credit cards can be tracked. Take the subway instead of a bus or a taxi. Every day a different path and every day a different shop. Every month a different job, a different name, a different person.

A different person.That's what you've become. Every time you looked in the mirror, you barely recognised yourself. The person that was looking back at you was no longer you. Y/N you once knew was gone, gone for what you now thought, was for good. A smile that was once present on your face was now long time gone and the sparkle that was present in your eyes died along with it. Your facial features faded significantly. There were now dark circles and bags under your eyes, growing bigger and bigger with every night you lacked sleep. Your cheekbones seemed to drop and your chapped lips no longer complimented your once present smile. Your pretty face was now hidden behind the mask of the person you've become. So that's who you were now. A different person, barely a person. This month you've dyed your hair in black, quite a difference from last month's blonde ombre. You could barely remember how your natural hair color looked like, since you've dyed your hair differently so many times in the last couple of years. You missed your old self, but more than that you missed your old life, your friends. Your friends… do they still think of you every now and then, do they still care about what’s going on with your life. Is Steve still mad at you for what you did, is Clint mad at you for leaving Wanda, Nat, all of them without as much as a goodbye, do they even know you did that for their own good?

Those thoughts were running through your head again as you saw your reflection in a glass door of a small suburb Court you were now employed in. You didn't want to work in a place full of people, but you had to pay the bills for your apartment. You started out as a cleaner in a small night club, where you weren't noticeable and the danger of someone recognizing you or memorizing your face was low, since all the people you came in contact with were drunk and drugged. You hated that place and were more than happy to go elsewhere after a month. You worked as a cook in an even smaller food delivery shop, but it ran out of business due to the lack of orders. For a short time, you even worked as an assistant of some librarian. Sorting books and checking through the system every now and then. You changed your job every month, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. And with every job you changed, you changed your name as well. Your first fake name was Lilliana, then Jane or Janet or something, you can't really recall all the names you’ve had. For this month your name was Amelié. An ally of yours helped you create your fake background for every job. It wasn't much, but it was enough so that you could get one. People would think that a job somewhere in court would be risky and all, but it proved to be safe since it was just a small court in a city suburb. You worked as paralegal, which meant zero contact with people, only sorting through papers and old crime reports, but it gave you a nice opportunity to have a check in  on things that concerned your sudden disappearance. The pay was good enough and you were wondering whether you should perhaps keep this job for a while longer.  

You entered the hall that opened before you, showing your fake identity card to the guard. He gave you a nod and you went up the stairs, making your way to the main hall, where your office was located. You unlocked the door and entered. The late renaissance ceiling greeted you. There was an old wooden desk near the window. The walls were in faint yellow colour, decorated with fading flowery patterns. The office wasn't very big, but you didn't need big anyways. As long as it had a couple of bookshelves, where you could put the already printed paperwork and a working computer, you wouldn't complain.

After the day in the office you headed home. You lived in an old apartment a few blocks from the court so you could go by foot. Your entire apartment building was old and it was a miracle that the building still stood. Dirty pink walls welcomed you to your bedroom. You threw your clothes on the bed and your bag on the ground, too tired to care. You were in need of some good sleep, but you were also hungry. You decided that it's better to head to kitchen now and make something to eat while you still have your energy left, rather than take an hour of afternoon sleep and wake up even more tired and drained of energy than you already were. Your kitchen was very poorly equipped. It only had a rippled stove, with no oven, there was a small kitchen counter and something you could barely call a sink, and a fridge that came to your mid- thigh if you stood. There was only one cupboard in the corner of the room, but you somehow managed to put all your dishes and plates in it. You took an egg from the fridge and put some coconut oil in a pan. You decided to make ˝ham & egg ˝ and have some bread with it, something your father used to make you when you were little.

You soon finished eating and decided to finally go to bed. The weather was cold and it was raining outside. You wrapped yourself under the blankets, more than ready for some rest. You weren’t even sleeping for an hour, when your nightmare and the lightning outside woke you, still panting you got up, deciding to make yourself a cup of tea, which would hopefully calm you down.

Sipping on your cup of tea, you tried to push the nightmare in the back of your mind, yet, needless to say, you weren’t succeeding. Nightmare brought memories and they made you replay all the bad things in your head, that happened to you in the last years, and again you found yourself thinking of what got you in this position…

Everything wrong with 13RW

Firstly, the premise of the source book is distasteful and it should've never become a full show with 13 episodes of 1 hour each season.

The creators contacting health professionals to get advice on how to handle the themes in the show and ignoring ALL of the advice shows the little care given for “spreading a message” or “starting a conversation” (more like starting a controversy).

Now onto the points in which the show failed to convey a positive message in both season 1 & season 2.

I recommend watching this video for short indications on why the show does more bad than good.

And before anyone says anything, I am mentally ill and I study psychology so jot that down.

SEASON 1

Sensationalism of suicide

As a vehicle for vengeance (thru tapes)

As a tool to gain attention

The tapes are treated as words of truth and justice

If the tapes are ever criticized, it is done by characters featured on the tapes, which serves to delegitimize such opinions since they're the "bad guys" of the story

Act of committing suicide blamed on others (esp bad when the 11 persons’ wrongdoings cannot be equated in most cases)

Most people didn't deserve a tape:

Jessica cut ties with her over a misunderstanding

Zach emptied her encouragement mailbox (and quickly stopped after being called out) and she thought he threw away a personal letter she wrote him (this tape is extremely unwarranted)

Courtney claimed Hannah came onto her because she was afraid to be outed as lesbian but in the end, the photos and rumours affected them both anyway

Ryan published a poem of hers without her consent; disrespectful but not ill-intended

Clay walked away after she insisted for him to leave her alone (this tape is extremely unwarranted)

Sheri knocked down a sign and left Hannah out on the street because she didn’t want to call 911, which “caused” the death of a student (this tape is extremely unwarranted)

Those who deserved a tape (debatable in some cases):

Justin, for making up lies about her and spreading a revealing picture of her

Alex, for cutting ties, objectifying/publicly humiliating and submitting her to harassment in school

Bryce, for spreading a revealing picture of her and raping her

Marcus, for misleading, harassing and humiliating her in public

Tyler, for stalking and spreading pictures of [Courtney and] her

Mr Porter, for his very poor handling of her obvious distress

Hannah's story is no fair representation of real life

Technically, she’s a victim of social bullying (damaging someone's social reputation & lying and spreading rumours) but...

She's esp a victim of circumstances made by the creator - she's a fictional character whose purpose is to be a martyr in her story; in the real world, things would have played out much differently

Hannah tries to reach out once then gives up and justifies this bc the school counsellor didn't come running after her when she stormed out (again assuming ppl are mind readers)

Graphic rape scenes with the potential to trigger viewers - even those who aren’t survivors (replayed numerous times throughout the show as flashbacks)

Graphic and extended suicide scene (goes directly against professionals’ guidelines but screw vulnerable viewers I guess?)

Finality of suicide forgotten by the structure of narration = Hannah’s omnipresent even though she's literally dead, which grossly undermines the consequences of suicide

Adults portrayed as clueless and unable to help (not a good idea to put in teenagers’ head)

SEASON 2

Vague mention of mental illness

Implying anxiety runs in Hannah's maternal side but not diving into it

Sky being diagnosed with bipolar although there was no extensive portrayal of her symptoms (since she wasn’t onscreen for long) and immediately disappearing from the show while she’s the only character going through professional therapy and recovery (smth they would have rly benefited from showing)

Trivializing mental illness for plot use

Clay hallucinating Hannah - acknowledged but not addressed for being a serious psychotic symptom

Minors in sexual situations (too many times!)

Graphic scene of a brutal sexual battery (entirely for shock value, it didn’t have to be shown this way and you can't tell me otherwise)

Conflicting message regarding drug use

Severity of addiction (Justin getting clean then relapsing)

Recreational use (minors doing molly for fun... instead of marijuana which is less risky in comparison)

Trivializing school shooting

Advertisement tool (last episode of S1 heavily hinting at it)

Teased several times throughout the season

Blatant reference to Columbine

Not going through with it - worse move ever…

From a storytelling POV

Hannah the martyr

Hard to sympathize with when the tapes serve to exact vengeance more than it serves to explain how she felt and why she did what she did, making her manipulative at best

The fact that she was a bully herself in the past

(Plus being “shown” how Hannah was would've been better than being “told” how she was by other characters)

Overall terrible attempt at creating a suicide victim / mentally ill person ppl should sympathize with, the last thing the mentally ill needs is to be related to a character that is so easy to dislike

Clay as a main character

Lost his value since the story's progress doesn't rly depend on him (even tho we're forced to follow him)

Character development: he gets real snappy and no one calls him out? Increasingly unlikable

(Not that he was that likeable by the end of S1… spreading a naked picture of Tyler? #WelcomeToYourTape)

Tyler and his arc

Attempt at explaining the possible cause of school shooting? Failed.

Most school shooters aren’t victims of bullying, in fact many (if not all) are associated with hate groups like white supremacist, misogynists, etc.

Had plenty of reasons to commit suicide over mass shooting (and I don’t mean it in a ‘suicide can be justified’ sense but tbh besides his interest in guns, he’s never depicted as aggressively angry or remotely prone to violence)

Could've brought attention to male depression and male suicide far better than Alex’s story

Technical POV

Very lacking warnings. There should be hotlines at the end of every episode not at the beginning. Self-righteousness and superficial philosophy in both dialogue and narration show the shallowness and pretentiousness of the directors.

The show is presented as an objective representation instead of a media to consume and dissect and judge for oneself = in other words, the morale is laid out for you. Putting up content so shocking most of your target audience cannot watch for fear of being triggered is irresponsible. Trigger warnings don't solve that. Shooting implicit scenes and not explicit scenes is what protects viewers and still conveys the message.

Message

The show is depressing; there's barely any positive outcome. Every character is helpless to their situation. It would benefit greatly of some comic relief.

So I just wanted to know a little about the pay brackets with motorcycle. Im not talking specific numbers cause I know to just get a quota for that. What I heard is for things like scooters or bikes under 150cc there is a bracket. Then it goes up for anything between 150cc to less than 400cc. Then after that you can expect insurance to go up more when you get into the 600cc supersports and so on. I know im wording this kind of poorly. It makes sense just like how insurance for a Ferrari is going to more than a pickup truck or economy car. I just remember someone saying on a forum that they got a ninja 400r and they were happy that its technically a 399cc engine bucause if it was just a bit more the insurance would have gone up to the next class in motorcycle insurance. I just wanted to know if someone can help explain how this works. I wouldnt mind having something stronger than a 250 or 300 motorcycle but if it means that insurance is going to double or something for a 600 or 650 then I may stray away from it because I still have insurance for my car. Ye Hua went to fetch A-Li from the boat at the middle of the lake and then came to join me at the pavilion.

I took a glance at him. He had his signature cold look on.

“It was during Heavenly Lord’s birthday banquet, my Lord brought Yuan Zhen and a gift to Nine Heavens. Who would have known Yuan Zhen would cause trouble at Xiwu Palace and nearly.. he nearly molested Consort Su Jin” - she explained in embarrassment.

I almost coughed out the tea I was sipping. Who in this world would want to molest Su Jin? That crazy person is not even worth to be molested.

“Molested Su Jin?” I turned to look at Ye Hua. He took a sip of his tea without saying anything.

I put down my tea cup. “This punishment does sounds a bit severe for attempted harassment”

That Su Jin is still causing trouble after all these years. I wonder why is Ye Hua not doing anything about it?

“Yuan Zhen is a good and kindhearted child. He doesn’t even have the heart to step on an ant. I earnestly ask you to save his life, Aunt” - she begged.

Later in the evening, I went to Ye Hua’s study and found him pacing back and forth in the room. I just plop down to sit on his bed.

“Looks like I got to make a trip to see that Star Lord Si Ming, who follows Dong Hua Dijun to see what ordeal Yuan Zhen goes through when he is 18 years old” - I said to him, while he’s still pacing.

Ye Hua suddenly stop. “That Star Lord Si Ming is quite eccentric. Even the Heavenly Lord is not allowed to take a look at his Book of Destiny”

“That serious?”

“So it would be quiet difficult for you to find out from him”

I sighed. “Then what should I do?” - I asked him back.

He starts pacing again. “Fortunately” - he said. “Star Lord Si Ming owes me a favor. If I ask him in your place, it would be easier”

“Really? You can get it for me?”

“But you have to promised me one thing” - he suddenly sounded serious.

“What is it?”

“Seal your powers when you go to the mortal world”

I just nod my head.

“Qian Qian, you may be a high goddess but being hit a few times like that can be quite serious. When we take on the positions of the Heavenly Lord and Heavenly Empress, what will we do then?”

“Have you forgotten? You will marry into Xiwu Palace one day. When one becomes Heavenly Lord and Heavenly Empress, one must endure 81 sacred blazes and 9 holy bolts of lightning. If you are hit by your own magic, I’m afraid you won’t survive”

“Oh..”. If we only can turn back time, I would like if we can live like a mortal. “All right, I promise”

With that, Ye Hua left to the Nine Heavens to retrieve the information from Si Ming and not long after, he came back with Yuan Zhen’s book.

“I heard you saying how precious and cherished this book is” - I said to him when he handed me the book. “I thought you would only get a copy. I didn’t expect you would come back with the original”

Ye Hua smiled at me. “Take a look. Si Ming wrote a story that really would make one want to tear up”

“It is a waste of talent for Lord Si Ming not to write a few plays”

He laughed. “Better not. It might get very soapy”

I laughed along with him. It was really nice to see Ye Hua, mostly all cold and uptight, being so casual and easy now. In the end, we spend the whole night together planning for Yuan Zhen.
