media made by addicts always has a certain je ne sais quoi that I can't quite describe but I feel like I have sixth sense for identifying. even when a work is in no way about substance use or compulsive behavior, there are just ways that authors treat subjects like guilt or secrets or self-control that make me go "hang on. You 🫵." and then when I check it always turns out that I'm right. it's even happened to me a few times, I'll make what I think is a generic tragedypost and people in the notes will say "op am I reading too much into this or are you. maybe. yknow. 👀"

🌻 for Edge?

🌻 (sunflower) - What’s something your character has grown out of? Did it happen gradually or was it a drastic change? What caused this shift?

When Edge was little, he was actually entirely nonverbal! I always like to imagine most Papyri are quiet when very young, and took a while before their first words, but few to the same degree.

Id say it was both gradual and drastic, as he started offering a few sparse words to Red when he was around 6-9, but once they were on their own, there was more pressure to "act normal", so he wound up forcing himself to verbally communicate more frequently than he would've chosen.

Whiiich also sort of answers the next part! It was mostly pressure from "the outside world" (the rest of the underground). Pretty much anything can be perceived as a weakness, and since "quiet" reads more as "shy" for a child/teen, Red discouraged Edge from communicating predominantly in Hands.

this is adorable. also sedric better hold onto this man tight because carson fell for sedric while he was like bedridden paranoid and miserable. sedric this comes as a surprise to the both of us the difference is i knew it was happening. im just pleasantly surprised to see how sweet and genuine he is about it. like he doesnt just have a thing for you man he likes you. and frankly sedric neither of us can see why he likes you right now but im gonna chalk that up to your pov bias and say go for it

TIL that the rings around a planet have a meaning! The light blue and associated faction color represent its liberation or defense status!

On the left is Gaellivare, which is currently at 33% liberation, and on the right is Shelt, which is 33% defended!

I don’t know what these folks who make Kakyoin out to be like . A manwhore or “Girl Love Interest”™️ or just a romantic extension of Jotaro are doing . He is a LOSER. He is SLEEP DEPRIVED. Hierophant was his only friend until he was SEVENTEEN. He is AUTISTIC. He is a SMART boy but he is also a SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD BOY.

He is goated beyond belief there is so much to his character he was alienated from his family and everyone else around him because indirectly of Hierophants existence and I wonder sometimes if he pretended he couldn’t see him so just for a moment he could pretend to fit in with everyone . He would throw up before a presentation because he’s so nervous. He sweats because he’s an anxious autistic teenage boy like no other and he HATES it!!! He is not seducing Jotaro , Jotaro is intruiged by him because they both have facades but they are both TEENAGE BOY LOSERS . Get out of my house he would obliterate him in any game no mercy and they work well because he gets him for real and he reads into kakyoin because despite his demeanor he thinks everyone can read people as well as he can so he KNOWS how kakyoin is DOING . Shut UP.
