Hello Tumblr, I have an important life update for you all

We did it. Finally, after 5-7 years of research and waiting and planning...

We have a third snoot. The Borzoi has finally arrived

Her name is Echo and she's still a puppy. We got her in July at 8 months old, and she's now almost 11 months old.

The two others are doing just fine and are happy and healthy as well, and adjusting to life with a big giant baby being around.

Zill loves her. Strudel is still coming around. Don't worry though;

He's still the king of everything.

Author's Note: Damn it feels like a lifetime since I've posted a fic, but heres a little drabble if you can even call it that. I promise I'm writing so hopefully you'll see some longer fics coming soon. October just kicked my ass (none of you told me turning 21 was gonna hit me so hard) and I'm just now finishing my recovery (with a big fuck you to my sciatic nerve and broken foot 🖕). Tara loves your tattoos, from the bigger ones on your back to the many patchwork tattoos across your arms and thighs. She loves them, they’re a part of you, and it’s you that she loves the most. 

She loves the way you’ll stay in bed a few hours longer if she traces the ones on your back. She loves that you both calm down when she traces the Miles Morales spider on your inner wrist. 

She loves that you’ve been packing markers in your bag for her and Mindy to color them in during any classes that didn’t solely focus on film making. She loves how excited you get when you see a child is interested in some of the more colorful ones. Always willing to take the time to let them inspect the vibrant art. 

She loves, though this one she’s a little more hesitant to admit, but she loves the matching tattoo you have with Chad. She rolls her eyes but she loves when the pair of you make it your mission to get the tattoos in every photo you take together.

She loves the many tattoos that didn’t have any meaning to them until you had the experience of getting them. Remembering the time you drunkenly let Anika tattoo a doodle of Tara’s on the side of your rib. She loved when Sam got her first tattoo, you not only packed a bag for her during the tattoo with snacks but you also made a little care package for after. 

She loves that when she got her own tattoo on her wrist, you held her other hand throughout the process. She loves that you’ve started a new routine of rubbing sunscreen on her wrist to protect it. She loves how excited you get when she says you should get a matching tattoo with her. 

She loves you, your tattoos and everything that entails.

To recount a twitter story, Kenny Lauderdale posted this very normcore review of the English release of Gainax VN Princess Maker 2 from the May 1996 edition of the (Michigan) Times Herald:

It includes some great quotes, like Japanese professor Etsuko Yamashita believing its existence is a step back for feminism - very amusing given how gender-equal the player base for these games is today! Time marches past us all. Sometimes for the better - it cost $140 in Japan on release!?

But what I found interesting was the art featured - because that isn't Princess Maker 2?

Turns out that is art is from Princess Maker 3:

You can see specific scenes like the beach as well, in case you had any doubt. This is weird though because, well, Princess Maker 3 came out in January of 1997? More than half a year after this article was published! Which means they somehow had access to promotional material for Princess Maker 3? Which to be clear absolutely did exist at the time - in fact, Princess Maker 3 was bought up by Sony as a limited release for their brand-new console the Playstation. PM3 was actually featured on the cover of the first ever volume of the Dengeki Playstation magazine, released in January of 1995 (the PS1 coming out in December 1994):

Alas I haven't found a copy of this scanned online, so I can't say what it contained. This being two years before the game's release does honestly point to some development hell drama, the timeline for a game back then should not be that lengthy. Man, wonder what was happening at Gainax in 1995 that might have been a distraction...

Still, we have a question of how this American newspaper article got their hands on them. It also seems worthwhile to note that this article is syndicated - it was published in a dozen newspapers across the country around this time, but with different titles and photos to fit each paper's needs. And other papers do have correct Princess Maker 2 screenshots on them!

I have no grand answer here or anything, sorry guys, but I think we can infer it. The article itself actually mentions that a "third one" is now in the works, which is something they would have learned from the publisher of the English version, IntraCorp (they weren't reading Japanese press magazines in 1996!). IntraCorp likely wanted them to mention it because they themselves were going to hopefully license it, assuming the first (well, second) one was successful - this was their first foray into this specific licensing niche, previously making action games like Witchaven II: Blood Vengeance. In early 1996 they sent out copies & press kits to reviewers, and I am guessing that copy almost certainly included - perhaps poorly labeled - promotional material for Princess Maker 3 as well that Gainax had provided them, so they would mention it in the article and seed hype. The harried layout editor at The Times Herald opened the wrong folder and threw them on the page by mistake - after all the author didn't work for him, he worked for the Associated Press. He had no experience with the game to know his error.

We will never know because this is a niche curiosity from almost 30 years ago, sure, but we will also never know because the game being reviewed above...was never released! IntraCorp declared bankruptcy soon after the publication of this article. They were not the localizers themselves - a team of 4 people called SoftEgg were - but their contract with them was binding enough that it left the virtually-finished translated copy in perpetual legal limbo. Eventually it was leaked onto the internet as a form of abandonware a few years later. The hard-working men of America never got to be "Sim Dad" in 1996 unless they were intrepid enough to be UseNet Forum users hunting down and running Japanese-language romhacks.

Which is not a hypothetical, that was occurring. I will leave you all with the opening quote from the rec.arts.anime group's User Manual for navigating your Nihongo copy of Princess Maker 2, preserved still in the roms you can download today:

We all know of Gainax as being the wonderful company that brought us Wings of Honneamise, Otaku no Video as well as multitudes of garage kits and other paraphenelia. However with the release of Princess Maker 2, one might think that their true calling is in computer software! This band of self described otakus which managed to lose almost all their profits in the anime business have come back by releasing several computer games (some of which were on display at Anime Con).

The PNGs were all saved with CYMK color palettes so those previews are more likely to reflect what the printed copies will look like.

This is the part where I get really sappy, but I'll try to keep it short. I, Muse, wasn't an active participant in the SPG fandom until the Becile Bots came into play. The excitement that sprung up around this little subfandom was infectious, and I made my main tumblr blog for the express purpose of joining in. Soon I was writing (angsty) fanfiction and getting more familiar with digital art. SPG and the fandom here on Tumblr changed the course of my life, and I may never have made the plunge if not for these ne'er-do-wells.

I'd like to thank Surge, the original creator of the AU. Wherever you are, I hope you are well. And I'd like to thank Riley, the previous caretaker of the AU who passed it generously onto me back in 2019. Getting to revive this askblog, fill it out and polish it up, and as we head into the final acts, hopefully send the Becile Bots off in style and in love-- it is a gift I will always treasure.

And I'd like to thank you and all our followers, past and present. I look forward to each and every one of your likes and reblog tags, all of the fan work you share, and the asks that brighten my day and keep me energized to keep pushing forward.

Art style and breaks are on two different spectrums. Complaining about him taking breaks is the biggest NO from me. like PLEASE let Gege release a chapter a month. Every single week is WAY too much for a mangaka - there's only so much a person can do within 6 days :// From a pure quality and marketing standpoint it'll allow him to : process his OWN thoughts, more detailed drawings and (longer) chapters, perhaps even formulate a proper plan for the manga, and the hype will be bigger as well. Especially right now where it is getting criticism and being called repetitive - there is less hype because everyone knows they'll get answers in the next week. But most importantly REST. he is not a machine and you are very right about that!!

so small life update:

I'm taking meds that's good for 3 months for my liver disease !! I think I'm doing semi well and otw to recovery, I get some occasional low grade fevers but I get back up a bit more easily. I'm being very careful with strain on my body ( this photo is just taken tonight, I have to be a bit more careful with how I manage my stress and anxiety :[ )

Hopefully I'd be able to do more art and fully colored pieces and not just lazy doodles soon, it sucks having to be so conservative because of my frail state. I'll push through ^ _ ^

In the meantime, I'm debating whether I should post some of the small art and doodles I've made of ocs....

Ricky Deaton II, Husband (Gen 6): The son of Ricky Jr. and Elizabeth Braun, he is related to one of the oldest lineages in my save. His mother encouraged hard work and taking risks, giving Ricky the strength and perseverance he needed to master piano and violin. Ricky II became a renowned musician and jazz pianist, known for hits such as "Aili's Song" and "Let's Get Squinky." Now retired, he prefers to spend his time with his family and raise them into musical prodigies.

Aili Deaton, Head of Household (Gen 8): Aili is the daughter of Daria and Wendy Szimmer. She was raised by artists and started painting as soon as her little hands could hold a brush. Her parents had humble jobs and the family seemed to be flying forward-- until her mother Daria died in a freak weather machine accident when she was just a Teen. She hit a rebellious streak after that, and started taking underground work doing forgeries and frauds for art heists. She is a master in her field and is currently teaching her daughter Messina the way of the brush.

Ricky Deaton III, Son (Gen 9): Ricky III could never decide what he wanted to do in his life. Should he follow his father's footsteps? Should he learn to paint and join the family business? Maybe he should do neither, and try to be an actor in Hollywood! It's going slow, but surely he will grow to be as famous as his great-great-great-grandmother. Maybe. Hopefully? While he tries to figure that out, he spends most of his time banging multiple women in town and accidentally having children with them because I forgot to turn that off in Neighborhood Stories.

Eliza Deaton, Heiress (Gen 9): Eliza is the very definition of a Daddy's Girl. She spent her whole life next to him on the piano bench, learning how to Jazz the Place Up and Concerto. Unknown to her family, however, she had a hidden hobby: DJ-ing! She would stay up in all hours of the night mixing songs on her DJ station. Eventually, she started sneaking out and DJ-ing at the Blue Velvet Nightclub. Nowadays, she works overtime as an onstage musician, a talented pianist dancing in the footsteps of her father. On her nights off, she still hits the stage as DJ Cool Cat, but all the work is taking her away from her duty as the heir. She needs to figure out what she's more passionate about before the household is solely in her hands.

Messina Deaton, Daughter (Gen 9): Messina Deaton is a lil miss smarty pants who graduated early and has recently been taken under her mother's wing as a fraudulent painter. However, she wants to be just a normal painter. Fraudulent painter is your dream, mom!

Wendy Deaton, Daughter (Gen 9): Wendy is a karaoke pop star and Jokester. She is destined for a life in Business so I can get the career achievement.

Maddison Deaton, Granddaughter & Next-in-Line (Gen 10): Maddison is Ricky III's daughter, her mother is the supermodel Brandy Saunders. However, Brandy's death made her incapable of being a mother, so Maddison came to stay with her father's family. The oldest of Gen 10, she is expected to take over and continue the household when she gets older.

Taylor Guo, Grandson (Gen 10): Taylor Guo is Ricky III's son and lives with his mother's family. He spends the week at the Deatons occasionally.

Ricky Deaton IV, Grandson (Gen 10): The son of Eliza Deaton! Who knows what the world has in store for him.

Kirara came through Mondstadt with a special parcel for Albedo. It appears to be a casket of tomes, however upon opening it isn't TCG cards that sit inside. Atop a stack of translucid paper sits a letter addressed to him.

[Hello Albedo, I hope my letter finds you well.

I've recently learned about the winter tradition from your region, and right away I thought of you then. If there is anyone I would wish to present with a gift...

... that person would be you. I broke the sentence so you can see what I did there. I hope you like it.

I am eternally grateful for the custom card back you have created for me. It fills me with pride every time my opponents ask me about it. Would that I was as gifted in the arts as you are, I would return the favor more confidently.

The next best thing I could do was to take my Kamera and travel across Sumeru to capture some of my favorite views. You will find them under this letter in the Casket. You can hold onto that as well if you don't have one yet, by the way.

I hope among the pictures you will find something inspiring. And if you ever wish to see these places in person, please come to find me. It would be an honor to escort you personally.

Albedo hasn't expected anything from anyone outside of Mondstadt. Most people would've buried their heads and focused on their own circle of friends. On his head, he'd have expected a gift from Sucrose, before making his way to his lab in Dragonspine where he'd spend the next few weeks enjoying the cold and quiet.

He's rather confused when he sees Kirara arrive in Mondstadt. Not just for any random visit, but evidently coming specifically for him. The confusion is evident on his face as he takes the parcel from her, offering up a quick thanks before turning around to open it. He can hear her footsteps retreating with a mumbled you're welcome. He'll apologize later for his rudeness, but right now Albedo's curiosity is going to exceed social norms.

In the small package, Albedo finds several pictures to sift through. There are lots that are already giving him inspiration and muse, along with a desire to travel to Sumeru and explore the landscape. Albedo had been meaning to go there for some time anyway, this would be the perfect chance to go.

Carefully setting the photos aside, he picks up the letter to read it. The confusion melts, replaced with a fondness that he rarely feels. Cyno...

Cyno had certainly been an interesting friend to make, but his humor and care for others had intrigued Albedo. He often finds himself longing for Cyno's company, particularly in moments when the cold makes him remember things he doesn't want to remember.

Once finished reading, Albedo hurries through the streets and back to his small home within the city. He can scribble out a return letter and hopefully catch Kirara before she leaves Mondstadt again.

Cyno. Thank you for your parcel. I hadn't expected a generous gift from you, but I am delighted to recieve one nonetheless. I should make plans to visit you in Sumeru soon. I would love to explore the nation with you and Tighnari, as well as Collei. I'll bring Sucrose with me as well, she's been missing her friend. This letter is short, and I apologize, I am pressed for time. But do expect me within the next few weeks. I will try to get at least a month off so I may come and do research there. I look forward to you showing me around. All my best, Albedo.

Reading it over, Albedo smiles to himself before putting it carefully in an envelope. He doesn't have any gifts to send back, unless Cyno would like some Mondstadt treats? Though...Albedo doesn't have any of those on hand, either. The letter alone will have to do for now. All that's left now is to track down Kirara or someone else to deliver this to Cyno as soon as possible.

I am deeply frustrated because my computer is being tetchy. what I want to do is grab my laptop and write in bed. But whenever I unplug it from the docking station, it's really hard to actually get it to wake up from hibernation mode, and half the time I have to reboot it. and I don't have a separate power cord next to my bed, and I need to get another one because the other loose power cord is in the living room and I don't want to steal it from there. and I have to wait until Wednesday to see if a thing happens, and if it does then either I throw half the story out or I add another 4,000 words. But there's no way to know.

Also illustrator keeps crashing but that's almost certainly because my hard drive was too full. what's more annoying is my 4K monitor constantly going black every few seconds and I know it's a known issue and I know it's probably just needs a new power cord but it makes every little change take twice as long and I'm just tired.

that said, I had art go off to a client to look at today and or yesterday I guess I should say. because it's one in the morning right now. and hopefully they will approve it and I will get paid and I will be able to pay my mortgage and it will all be very exciting.

in other news, I never did get that root canal and so I am using orajel and ibuprofen, but all of the pain is actually giving me a tension headache on top of everything else.

Also, my beloved cat whom I love more than anything this world, has been peeing on my bedroom carpet again and I can't figure out where and my whole room smells like cat pee. here's an adorable photo of her reaching out to touch my arm to get my attention.

as soon as I have the money I am going to take her back to the vet. based on the initial visit, we think it's behavioural rather than her actually physically being in pain. we've taken her off fish completely and have water bowls all over the house. But she also has been having territorial issues where Cassie will claim part of the bed and the bed has historically been Shadow's and so there are a lot of small skirmishes.

If you would like to help out with expenses, I would not say no as the GoFundMe is still up and running until both or either of us gets a full-time gag again.

Random Idea junk drawer

So I had a great time doing my Wangxian-centric Breath of the Wild AU last year, and when I finished it I definitely left the epilogue open-ended enough to do more Zelda AU’s/Fusions in the future (I still don’t REALLY know how big the difference is between AU’s and Fusions and which one my other-content-inspired stuff usually counts as but I DIGRESS) because here’s the thing. The Thing(TM). Zelda games are my JAM. They were baby’s first special interest. Literally.

When I was 7 years old my parents bought a GameCube and a game disk that had 4 remastered Classic Zelda games on it (two 2D, two 3D) as well as a 20-minute playable demo for Wind Waker, with three different starting locations to choose from that you could play as many times as you wanted. And you bet my little 7-year-old ass played every bit of it that was within my skill level (which was not much lol), until I got my next Zelda game at 10 (that was Twilight Princess, and it was the first Zelda game I ever finished). I have the Wii walkthrough book for Twilight Princess that I bought used online and it reeked of cigarettes for months after I got it. I chose a screenshot of one of the characters out of it to paint on one of those horrible school industrial ceiling tiles in my 8th grade art class (sadly the photo of it is lost on an old dead phone, but it was really good, I mixed up all my own custom colors of paint and everything which was like. Impressive for 13 year old me :( ). I have and treasure the Hyrule Historia book. I had shitty ill-fitting graphic tees that said things like ‘Good things come to those who break clay pots’ (really funny to me now that I’m a ceramicist and could easily make pots for myself for the purpose of smashing if I were so inclined [I’m totally gonna]). I have massive Zelda tattoos on the insides of both forearms and I’m planning more so that I’ll hopefully end up with two Zelda half-sleeves. Like ZELDA IS MY THING. WHY I’m not writing more Zelda AU’s and playing around in my expanded sandbox of hyperfixations, I have no idea.

But anyway, I’ve started playing Ocarina of Time again, I have no idea how many times I’ve played it at this point within the last 19 years, and I’ve done it on every Nintendo console possible (except, ironically, the N64 as it was originally made for). So obviously I’m playing along and getting lost in the story because it’s a fuckin good story, as one does, and I was like ‘hey what if Wangxian tho’ and thus. Today’s junk drawer was born. Have I already started an outline of the fic plot points as well? Yes. Did I have to stop myself 800 words in and say that no I can’t just write out the entire plot tonight and no it can’t all go into this junk drawer post because I should actually just write the damn thing instead? Yeah. When will that happen? I don’t wanna think about it, so let’s just have fun talking characters and locations and their implications, shall we?

I’m going to post my notes completely unedited and let y’all see the whole ugly process, and I’m gonna put it below the cut because this is already long enough to scroll past but all I’ve done is gush about Zelda and in doing so further cement my well-established status as a huge fuckin nerd lol:

Jiangs/Lotus Pier as Kokiri Forest -- Deku Tree is Jiang Fengmian (Does this make Madam Yu the giant nasty spider inside????? ew)

- Wei Wuxian -- taken into LP/Kokiri Forest as a young child, young enough to fit in with the other children, but he'll soon be old enough for everyone to know that he isn't one of the lake/river children, he's from Elsewhere. - Jiang Cheng as Mido, small and angry and won't let anyone see JFM/YZY without really fucking good reason but also takes the leadership role in LP/Kokiri Forest once JFM/Deku Tree is dead - Jiang Yanli as Saria, gentle and sweet and fond of music and wandering through the woods that keep their lake hidden from the rest of the world. She'll awaken as a Sage in WWX's adulthood.

Cloud Recesses as Hyrule Castle, Lans are the Royal Family and Sheikah combined

- Lan Qiren as the king of Hyrule, though as the second brother he's supposed to be leading the Sheikah, not sitting on the throne - Lan Xichen (already in his 20's) as Impa. He'll awaken as a Sage in WWX's adulthood. Although he's supposed to be in line for the throne, someone has to be the leader of the Sheikah since LQR can't be, which leaves: - Lan Zhan as Princess Zelda -- plagued by dreams and visions of evil coming to take over the world, but no one takes him seriously because he's still so young. People also forget that in the line of succession he's supposed to be the one protecting the royal family as the next leader of the Sheikah, so it's actually his destiny to have these visions, not to be a politician. He sees in Wei Wuxian someone who's willing to break the rules and society's expectations to be the true hero he's been dreaming about. He'll take up the extremely active role of Wangji/Sheik as an adult, having learnt the Sheikah secrets under Lan Xichen's tutelage and taken up his rightful place as one of them since his escape from the palace as a child.

Kakariko Village -- inhabited by average people (akin to Caiyi town, close with the royal Lan family but not directly cultivators?)

Nies as Gorons in Death Mountain/Goron City/Nie Fortress

- Nie Mingjue as Darunia -- hot-tempered and built like the mountain, willing to swear brotherhood with the boy who came to save his people. He'll awaken as a Sage in WWX's adulthood. (NHS as the snot-nosed kid who hero-worships WWX in adulthood? lol)

Jins/Jinlintai as Zora's Domain -- The Zora are a proud people who live high above the rest of Hyrule at the top of their waterfall (tower). (Golden Carp Tower has a lot of water motifs and they decorate things in teal and gold like the zora do too)

- Jin Guangshan as King Zora - Jin Zixuan as Princess Ruto, eaten by their deity god (who is still a giant fuckin fish, I dunno what else he could be lol) and who thinks he has to be engaged to WWX after giving him the Sapphire (maybe because he was told from a young age he'd have to get engaged to one of the lake children anyway and just didn't know who/hint at unrealized Xuanli?) He'll awaken as a Sage in WWX's adulthood. - Jin Guangyao as (????? :( :( :( where will my boy go?? I need my boy for emotional support)

Wen Ruohan as Ganondorf -- a cruel king wreathed in shadow and flame....I mean it writes itself lol

- Baoshan Sanren as Rauru, the Sage of Light -- withdrew from the mortal world an unknowable amount of time ago to protect the Sacred Realm and has watched over WWX these last seven years as he slept. - Jiang Yanli as Saria, the Sage of Forest -- she awakens into her powers to protect her childhood friend/brother(s), though this will mean having to leave Jiang Cheng on his own in Lotus Pier - Nie Mingjue as Darunia, the Sage of Fire -- he awakens as a sage to honor the Brotherhood oath he swore with WWX in the past - Jin Zixuan as Princess Ruto, the Sage of Water -- he 'dumps' WWX because he has to do the more important work of stopping the apocalypse, try to contain your disappointment WWX, you can still be coworkers and save the world or whatever, if you even care. - Lan Xichen as Impa, the Sage of Shadow -- Lan Xichen must leave the mortal world behind to take up his mantle as the Sage of Shadow, leaving Lan Wangji to carry his worldly responsibilities instead (sort of half-retreating into seclusion like canon) - Wen Qing as Nabooru, the Sage of Spirit -- Wen Qing is the leader of the all-female band of Gerudo thieves who in no way endorse Wen Ruohan's domination of the world. When she leaves to take up her role as the Sage of Spirit, she leaves her cousin Wen Yun (my OC Madam Lan) to lead the Gerudo in her stead. (need to find a role for Wen Ning? Except zelda lore is that only one man is born to the Gerudo at a time every hundred years and he’s always their king. Maybe WN is meant to be the new one but WRH has reached immortality/won’t die and let him succeed him?)

Plot would follow Ocarina of Time fairly closely (Unlike my BOTW AU where I tried to make it...relatively more like canon??) because there's a very definite plot there, while BOTW is so much more fluid it was easier to adapt to something else.

Hello Tumblr! 😁 My name is Oleandyr, or just Olly for short. I am pansexual, gender-fluid, and use They/Them pronouns. I am also a practicing Neo-Pagan and very interested in the occult/magick. (I'm also neurodivergent should it ever come up.) Basically I'm pretty much cut out for Tumblr, but for whatever reason, I didn't join the platform until a couple of days ago. Haha. I watch a lot of Strange Aeons on YouTube, so I know a lot about Tumblr's history and the most classic in-jokes and running gags. I specialize in character design, especially D&D characters and the like, but I'll also do fursonas and such. I only do traditional art on physical paper right now, but I hope to get into digital art eventually. craft room update under the cut!

I've been struggling with keeping my craft room/wfh office clean for years ever since i moved into my house. Not only am I messy, a given for a free spirit like myself, but I'm also working on multiple projects at a time that cannot be put away or else they will be forgotten, also typical of free spirits. I also dislike commitment such as putting giant nail or screw holes in the walls for shelving and storage, which would have helped with keeping things organized or at least off the floor so I can vacuum up all the threads and dust.

A short while ago I moved the futon sofa bed out to my bedroom (not that it really fit there either) because the futon looked ugly and was gathering messes and dust and I never used it for its purpose. The futon now is a gathering place for pillows and plushies but sometimes I do sit on it to work on my journal or read a bit. So that's a slight improvement than no use at all. And I put a sheet over it so it's cute now.

With the biggest space-waster out of the way, I moved furniture around to make the best use of light from the window and recently purchased a cheap plastic Ikea shelf to hold lightweight bins and such. The aesthetics and feng shui are not perfect, but with determination, I was able to rehome almost all of my art supplies and boxes of projects off the floor where they had been preventing me from vacuuming and reaching the closet door. There are still a couple of trays of miscellaneous junk to sort through and I would like a better place for my recently obtained embroidery supply baskets, but that should be easy to resolve tomorrow. It better be.

The next biggest change was taking all of my booth/table stuff from a giant tupperware and consolidating the merch and signage on a small shelf since I doubt I will sell at a market or artist alley anytime soon. (Maybe at my retirement, but I don't think society will exist in 20 years, or not a society that will be buying my art anyway.) That freed up a lot of floor space as well. The other giant tupperware holds my wigs and I don't have a place for it in the stuffed cosplay closet, so it will just be hanging out in the center of the room as a mini table surface as usual. I also moved my photos and letters to my bedroom closet as they are not technically office or art supplies.

I pulled out some artsy or fashion postcards and stickers to decorate, labeled a few drawers, and placed vases of fake flowers around to help it look prettier as well instead of just utilitarian. Actually the flowers were from my previous PC desk setups, I never even put them away, lol.

The last few things on my list - add a cute curtain, find a home for the last few baskets I already mentioned and add more artwork to the wall as inspirations. And maybe hang up one small decorative shelf... if I can make that commitment lol. Anyway, I'm really happy that I finally pulled through and finished tidying up, you know, after years of being stressed out by my mess and unable to find anything and buying multiples I didn't need lmao. Now I'm excited to finish my sewing projects and work on new stuff, and I smile when I look at the semi-organized bins and rainbow colors of fabrics and flowers. Gotta celebrate the small wins in this evil and miserable world!

Part 1 of Many. I'm sharing all of the art I've hardly shown to anyone all these years... Because people kept telling me to and I realized they're right.

This is some of the earliest art I've done on my iPad, all from June 2017... This is the hardest stuff for me to look at lmao 😭 Wide Cy is cursed... I have no idea what happened to Moko's hair... And please never bring up mid-life crisis Altair ever again. I'm being vulnerable right now 1st pic: I think the first thing I did when I got this iPad was start doodling people from Pinterest photos. I remember I was just trying to test the pen pressure and feel of everything. These sketches still hold up - I've always liked the blue lady especially.

2nd pic: I wasted no time getting into THR stuff. I don't know why exactly, but I always like to draw my characters in a sort of... clinical way? Like I'm an alien studying them and I've got them standing vacantly on a turntable, writing a profile about all their basic info. I guess we all kind of do that with fictional characters. It must have something to do with all those fan wikis I scoured as a kid... "Name, Age, Height, Weight, Gender, Aliases, Status, etc..." It's kinda creepy. Anyway, you'll see in the next pic that I start doing the height lineup thing.

3rd pic: Yeah... Cy is buff. That was just a thing back then. I was still adapting to digital color, and I think I was just having fun drawing directly on a screen for the first time.

4th pic: I had such an interest in glam-rock hair at the time, but I didn't really give them glam-rock clothing? All my characters look like their hair got eaten by a vacuum cleaner and released. Oh, Altair... if modern Altair could see this Altair... he would snatch the photo like "We do not speak of this."

5th pic: This is a character concept I did for a friend to help her visualize one of her characters, Adisa, who - if I remember correctly - worked in a graveyard and helped revived souls transition from death to a life of undeath. That was always a cool idea to me.

6th pic: Mokos. My bisexual is showing. She a cutie thoooo~~

7th pic: My husband said this one looks super kinky... lmao. Yeah... I was obsessed with burlesque at the time. When you grow up in a small midwestern town and your femininity is repressed, apparently you cope by imagining yourself as a yassified plague doctor.

8th pic: Heheheheh... If you know the Veluts - the alien species I designed that drive a good portion of my story's plot - you'll probably look at these noseless baboon people and not make the connection. Well, for me in 2017, this was a major advancement from the earliest version of the Veluts, who were then called the Sasahi, and were literally just Large Humans with elf ears and an addiction to body modifications. I realized at this point that they should be more distinct from humans, so the first baby step for me was giving them a slightly different evolutionary history.

I know this was all kind of self-deprecating, but I've been avoiding sharing my stuff for years because I am simply... shy. I have never been confident sharing my art, ever, in my life. I'm taking the leap, and hopefully as I keep doing this, I will become a little more confident. :) Follow me for more batches of old art coming soon, and watch the progression of my characters, stories, skills, and honestly, my personal life too. KMR STUDIOS QUICK UPDATE

Hey guys, KR here again with a quick update on my KMR Studios Blog.

I’m sorry for the lack of new content outside of my gaming videos lately. Some things have happened in my personal life recently and I’ve been slowing trying to get back to doing more artwork & comics, but it hasn’t been easy. In fact, I’ve been working on a piece or two and thanks to a little bit of artists’ block, they’ve haven’t been turning out how I’d hope. So, please patient and I’ll hopefully get something posted soon. Again, I am sorry.

As for video content, I’ll start with an update regarding my “All-Gen Retrocade” gaming video series, which if you haven’t already, please be sure check them out. You can find my channel on Rumble in the link below. I’ve decided to give gaming videos a rest for the summer. Now the decision was made, mainly for personal reasons as I wanted to take a break and focus more on making artwork & comics, and because I’ve been making playthrough videos these past few months, it’s been taking time away from doing what I love to do. But don’t worry, I do plan to resume the series something later this year, maybe early September. I don’t know yet, I just need to focus on my other priorities right now. However, I do have the first batch of games chosen for the later half of the 2024 season. In fact, one of them was already planned to be released before the hiatus. But I’ve decided to push it back for the time being. There’s two more episodes left as of this writing, and they’re definitely some of the best one’s I’ve done. So definitely check them out once they’re released.

One more update regarding “All-Gen Retrocade”, I haven’t made a decision yet, but I may close my Odysee channel. This is due to so many issues I’ve had with the website, such as performing random tasks in order to upload a single video, which is quite frustrating. So if you’re wondering why any of my recent episodes haven’t been posted on Odysee yet, there’s your answer. But, I’m considering opening another video channel on either BitChute or Vimeo or order to reach a wider audience. I’ve been on Rumble for some time and I still haven’t gotten lots of viewers or subscribers for whatever reason. I don’t know why. I’ve been sharing my videos through social media and yet, I still get nothing. I will keep you posted throughout the coming months and be sure to follow the official “All-Gen Retrocade” page on Tumblr for future updates.

In regards to KMR Studios videos, I’m slowly getting back to making art videos and maybe doing another entry in my VLOG series, maybe showcasing some of my art books I’ve collected or showing off my studio area or whatever it may be. I have one “Watch KR Draw” episode planned and it involves a single comic book issue where you get to draw on the cover! And I can’t wait to do that one.
