Headcanon #500:
Mind is afraid that when he distances himself from or above the others, that he will be too far gone to come back down. That when his paranoia gets the best of him, he'll shut everyone else out and then be completely alone with no way back to where he was before.
Heart is afraid that if Mind is right, with the idea that what he does isn't genuine, that he's being manipulative without realizing it. Then therefore being Whole without himself there is the better option. That he'd be thrown out because his ideas would then be "not worth it" or even "vile"
Soul is afraid that no matter what he does or how good things will be, they'll always eventually split up again or even end up worse. Even then he has no clue what he's supposed to do or be during everything, and so because of that he'll never be whole. Or worse that he'll never really "feel" whole.

Fun fact: Hajime’s height in Japanese is 179 cm and in feet, 5’10.
Meaning that not only Mikan and Hajime would be the same height, but Hajime’s the tallest of the DR protagonists! Makoto (160 cm, aka 5’2), Komaru (163 cm, 5’4), Kaede (167 cm, 5’5) and Shuichi (171 cm, 5’7). RIP Makoto.
ok hold on hold on imma use this as an excuse to rant about cm to feet because when I started simping for Nagi and found out he was 180cm and everyone kept saying he's 5'11'' but when I converted it it came out to 5'9" I went down a rabbit hole of trying to get to the truth and found that EVERYONE IS LYING IT'S ALL A FUCKING LIE
I've used so many different converters online and it seems the most consistent number for 179 to feet is 5.87 which would translate either to 5'8"or 5'9" if you're feeling generous. ok ok but THEN you get converters like THIS:
Tumblr media
That says it somehow translates to 5'10"?? a whole ONE TO TWO INCHES MORE??? LIKE I GET ROUNDING IT TO 5'9" OK THAT MAKES SENSE BUT HOW THE FUCK DID YOU ADD AN ENTIRE INCH TO THAT?? BUT THEN IF YOU DIVIDE 70.4742 INCHES BY 12 INCHES IT'S STILL 5.87 FEET!
Tumblr media
Oh oh but THEN if you apply this to Makoto's height of 160 you get THIS:
Tumblr media
WHICH YEAH MAKES SENSE SURE. I mean at least I can see how people would round up to 5'3" even though he's technically more closer to 5'2" since it's 5.24 but whatever I guess I GUESS
So then WHY does shit get weird with height around Hajime's and Nagito's??Well. I noticed something while trying to figure out Mikan's height since originally I had wanted to put her in CM since that seemed simplier but I couldn't gauge how much two more inches would be in CM thus I went back to the converters to convert once again from cm to feet (mistake).
Well interesting enough, when I put Mikan to 182 cm google converts it to 5.97feet:
Tumblr media
which should be about an inch more than Hajime who's at 5.87 yeah? Then it implies that every inch is roughly 3 cm which google confirms as well:
Tumblr media
ok ok the logic then would be that if I want Mikan to be TWO inches taller than Hajime then she'd need to be at least 185cm as 179cm+6cm = 185cm which should translate to around 5.8 feet + 2 inches = 5.10 feet
BUT THEN!!!!
if you put 185cm into google you get:
Tumblr media
SIX FUCKING WHOLE FEET!!!!!!!!!
SIX!!!!!
WE WENT FROM 5'9" TO 6' A WHOLE THREE INCHES
and btw 185?? That's Byakuya's height. AND SOME BITCHES EVEN HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY HE'S TALLER
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's the deal alright. Because 3cm is actually a bit more than an inch (1.18 inches), those extra inches start adding up and can add ALMOST an inch which is why we can get those sudden jumps. I acknowledge this and accept this as fact.
But I will NOT accept Hajime nor Nagito being 5'10" or 5'11" because really they're approx 5.872feet and 5.905feet and even if we're being kind and rounding up then really they'd be 5'9" and 5'10" on a good day. Though really Nagito should still be 5'9" because im sorry honey you juuuust made it to 5.9 and you're only 1cm taller than Hajime not 3cm not even 2cm. Hajime and Nagito have little to no height difference.
So thus, 5'10" Mikan would still, in fact, be taller than Hajime AND Nagito. Now, all that being said, what would Mikan's height be in cm? Well, for simplicity's sake we'll say she's 182.
TLDR: Converting metric that is based on the powers of 10s with the Imperial system based on the division of 3s, 12s, and whatever the fuck you feel like that day messes everything up and gives you wildly different perceptions of height and everyone is simultaneously correct but also wrong and Byakuya is 6 foot tall fuck you he's doesn't get to round up he has enough height already he needs to learn to share and be humbled. Thank you.

Hi? Is it okay to ask for Ganondorf's possible anxieties involving having a son?
I mean, it's highly unlikely that Ganon even saw another male until at least 18. Imagine what that would do to someone. No father, no male role model, no male friends, no male associates. No male contact at all.
Like, I can't even imagine what it would've been like to have had no female contact at all until 18.
Just not having a good father in one's life is known to stunt a person substantially. I can't even fathom how othered Ganon must've felt growing up. How utterly pressured he felt to become a pillar of masculinity without any real example to follow. No one to teach him what it actually means to be a good man. No one to explain things to him. No one to show him the subtle little things that seems to almost be universal among men no matter the culture. Especially in how they interact amongst each other. No one to teach him about comradery between men. About the unspoken rules that men seem to have.
And, not to mention the almost commodifying perspective the Gerudo have towards men. One even mentioned that she'd believed that all men were useless except for Ganondorf.
I can't help but think he might've internalized some of that.
So, would Ganon be anxious about setting a good example for his son seeing as he likely didn't have that himself?
Ganondorf had to admit he was still in shock over looking at his children. But the longer he stared at them, the more a new feeling settled into his heart.
Watching his daughter was a blessing; a strong feeling of protectiveness overcame him, and he wondered how such a delicate looking child could grow into a warrior like her mother. But his son…
Ganondorf could fathom having a daughter, could handle raising a girl. But a son…
He’d never felt so simultaneously out-of-depth and excited.
It wasn’t particularly a feeling he enjoyed. Ganondorf despised being out of control. But looking at the little boy made him feel so utterly alone and adrift, wondering how in the world he could possibly raise this child correctly. Yet at the same time, it filled him with eagerness, an excitement to give the boy guidance that he had been sorely lacking in his life.
Growing up as a Gerudo male had been so incredibly isolating. Ganondorf had been treated as a king and as some Other, his childhood filled with voids and gaps in understanding, in confusion that had left him stumbling when he’d first entered Hyrule. He’d never felt unwelcome by his fellow Gerudo, but he’d also never felt welcome. His presence was a blessing, a symbol of leadership with no understanding of what that even meant. Somehow it was his responsibility to lead his band of thieves, and the best way he knew how was to be the strongest. His physicality lent to it naturally, so it only seemed the correct path. But when he’d first entered Hyrule, when he’d first seen another man, he had felt wholly inadequate. It had been a group of Hylian soldiers, all strong in their own right, laughing amongst each other, at ease, normal.
He wasn’t normal. He’d never been normal. His body had been strange and cursed, developing in ways no other Gerudo’s had, lacking the gift of life that the women bore, making up for it in sheer power and aggression. It had been his goddess-given right to be a protector, and that had developed into a greater desire when he’d seen Hyrule.
He didn’t have to defend. He could just take as his sisters did, but with greater results. He could live in a land that prospered, he could rule it, as was his birthright.
But all of those thoughts felt empty when looking at his son, because here he held a new gift and opportunity. He could be a father. He could raise a boy to be a man, could show him what that meant when he’d never had that chance.
But what could he possibly do in this role? He knew nothing of fathers, even in his journeys to Hyrule. The closest he’d gotten to interacting with a father was seeing the king, who occasionally was present with the princess, but mostly the girl was elsewhere in the palace. Was being a father not that involved, then, or was it simply because the king of Hyrule had other duties? Ganondorf surely wouldn’t abandon his children nearly so much. They could attend duties with him. How else could they learn to fulfill their roles, anyway?
Was that the correct course of action? Twinrova had done as much with Ganondorf, so it seemed reasonable. He’d been involved in the care and leadership of his people since he was a teenager, perhaps even a little younger.
The worst part of this was that he had no one to turn to for this. Ganondorf hated relying on anything or anyone else but himself, but in this matter… he… almost wished he did have someone. Nabooru, as much as he loved her, was not going to be helpful in this matter. However, in this land that Din had taken him to, the Gerudo here did have a very small amount of men present in their ranks – only those who joined with Gerudo women were allowed. Men from a nearby settlement occasionally interacted with Gerudo, and those who chose to embrace the culture and marry one of the women were allowed. But they were foreigners, and Ganondorf was their ruler through his own birthright and his marriage to Nabooru. He refused to look to them for an example.
Ganondorf took a steadying breath, lifting the child into his arms. It didn’t matter if he had an example or not. He’d forged his own way his entire life, and that wasn’t changing now. He would be a father to these children whether he was ready or not, and so he would strive to be the best father he could be, whatever that meant.

What would Gabe and V1's reputation be among the machines? I think that they, by and large have no idea who Gabe is soley because Gabe was too good at his job that no machine survived to tell the tale (or to get the enemy entry at the terminal) and they never put two and two together when they do see him. V1 would be similar if not for Cyber Grind, most machines hate it because it ruined their streaks. Machines hate the gamer.
honestly a good question....like you said, it's unlikely the machines would know too much about either of them considering how deadly they are, save for v1's record on the cybergrind (whether or not they would recognize it in person is another story too). they don't have much time to think about it when in battle either, but i'm sure some of them quickly clock the fact that TWO top-tier threats seem to be helping each other...which hardly seems fair lol their respective unique natures immediately alarm any of their opponents, considering they're unlike any other machine or angel, and it's quickly obvious once the engagement begins that they're magnitudes above any other threats in hell.
so if they could gain a reputation (likely from one of their fan clubs - machines may overhear something from gabriel's virtues OR the little streetcleaners that follow v1 at a distance might catch glimpses of gabriel), it's likely that the machines would actively begin to avoid them and attempt retreat if they do run into them (tho it's unlikely hell would allow it). those with more limited ai like the drones probably wouldn't change in behavior, but i think otherwise the machines coming into contact with them grow increasingly distressed. v1 alone with hordes of enemies assailing it is feasible to destroy, though terribly difficult, whereas gabriel is nearly impossible for lesser machines to best considering his track record prior to v1 - and if they know this, their risk assessment would absolutely tell them there's no blood to be had in this fight. they have formed a perfect pair, a pair that would see v1 benefit from massive blood gains and essentially guard it from all possible failure. it's highly efficient, it has optimized its strategy, it has entirely outplayed them in hell as it has in the cybergrind up to that point. so. it's logical. if the angel is willing, who wouldn't?
i don't think the machines would particularly think deeper on it either - what they are isn't entirely important, although if they did understand it...they would essentially consider this v1's code growing wild. it's happened to all of them really, the swordsmachines running away with modifications and the mindflayers meticulously crafting and protecting their plastic bodies. v1's ai is drastically more advanced than any of those around it, so in a way, i doubt they would be too surprised it's gained the capability of complex emotional attachments...UNFORTUNATELY it was, naturally, with the strongest entity it could find in all of hell. that alone would tell them all they need to know about how powerful gabriel is likely to be really - if v1 loves him, it could only be because the way he fought sparked something deep inside a mind concerned only with war (they don't speculate on gabriel's reasoning or how he came to love a machine even as he continues to destroy the rest - things made by god seem to be entirely irrational in their choices).

if you've followed me for any amount of time you know i love winter soldier (2018) run, but let me just write an essay to convince you to read it.
ya’ll. seriously. it’s so, so, so important to bucky as a person. it’s, honestly, the biggest character development for him. because it’s one of those rare times where he does something, and it’s not about steve, or nat, or captain america.
like please, don’t get me wrong. i love steve and nat. bucky loves steve and nat. they’re both so incredibly vital to his character, and in completely different ways! bucky practically idolizes steve–he’s like an older brother, and they’ve got a friendship that is so central to both of them. they text, they drop everything for each other, they’d do whatever it took to save or help the other–but that’s kinda the issue, too. because steve does a lot more of the asking than bucky does. and it’s always well-intentioned, but it’s not always the best for bucky. bucky makes the choice on his own to try not to kill people anymore. but steve asks for him to be sniper backup and bucky’s right back at it again, pulling the trigger for steve when he can’t. and that’s the thing, is that there’s always going to be that power dynamic in that relationship where he’s willing to do anything for steve, because that’s what he’s always done. it’s what they’ve always done.
and with nat it’s kind of a same song different verse, in a lot of ways. they’d do anything for each other, they have each other’s backs–nat was pretty much glued to his side when he was captain america, and even after, when they worked on eradicating threats for shield. bucky loves and admires nat, both as a friend and a lover, and he wants nothing more than to protect and help her. but i think, in a lot of ways, the power in the relationship lies with nat–she’s the cool-headed one, the logical thinker, and bucky, bless his dumb little heart, throws all logic and thinking out the window whenever his heart gets involved. he’s emotional, and vulnerable, and it puts him in a… reactive? submissive? role in their relationship. for as much as bucky may call the shots at times, he only does it because he knows he has nat’s trust. but more often than not, nat’s the one pointing out things to bucky–she’s the better spy, the better manipulator, the one who’s memories, while compromised, are clearer because she’s lived more life than he has. and i think he really just… grows in fits and starts around her. because i think bucky wants to be a man nat admires and thinks of him as, but i don’t… i don’t think that’s what bucky always wants? i think bucky and nat have very different goals and feelings, and while there’s always this bond of understanding and shared experience it’s just… not where bucky needs to be to grow for himself, as himself
because let’s face it, he hasn’t been given the option as to what he wanted to do with his life since he was a kid, basically. when his dad died, he essentially dropped out of school and joined the army. and then at 16, was chosen to be captain america’s sidekick. he hasn’t been his own man, making his own choices, standing on his own outside of everyone’s shadows–for good or bad–since he was 16! and what does he choose to do? he wants to help people find redemption and start over. you know, like he did, like what he’s always working towards.
and i think it’s incredibly fascinating that the two people shown helping him are sharon and tony. two of the people he befriended, who only know him from this time. and one of which, he tried to kill when he first met (which is a whole other thing in and of itself). but both sharon and tony get this… new mission, new goal, new bucky, in a way that i don’t know nat or steve would. not as intimately. because, i think in a lot of ways, steve will always see 40′s bucky, and nat will always see red room bucky, but sharon and tony only know the winter soldier turned captain america who let himself be put on trial, who let himself be put into a russian gulag, and who died trying to live up to being captain america at a time when the world was dissolving in fear. they know the current bucky who did all those things–and yeah, both sharon and tony probably read files on what bucky did in the past. but that’s just it–it’s the past for them. information on paper. it’s not what they’ve seen him do and seen him work for. they’ve watched him work to redeem himself. and they’re here for him now because they’re friends, yes, but because they also believe that people deserve second chances–and they, more than most, know what it’s like to need that redemption.
and that’s honestly what the entire run is about. it’s about how no one’s too far gone to not deserve a second chance. that sometimes, what someone needs is the opportunity to do some good. and that the difference between saving someone and helping someone save themselves is all about giving people the chance and freedom to make their own choices, for good or bad, and simply doing your best to support and love them.
