im not sure if your requests are open but do you think you could write a sonic or shadow x reader whos a type one diabetic? ive seen maybe one other idea abt it for shadow and id love to see people write about it in more detail!

Notes: my cousin also has type on diabetes I found out in 2023 I only get to see her once a year. Ok so when I wrote like (っ˘ڡ˘ς)  that popped up and why r ppl using Arabic for their symbols?? Why is ت a smiley? And ppl complain abt using the Greek alphabet for symbols but then use the Arabic one as if that isn't hypocritical. Also I used what I've seen from my cousin and she used insulin syringes I've heard there r pills but I've never seen them so I hope this was ok! Hey dear keyboard from my mobile? Can you please stop making any simple present into a simple past or past form? 🥺

Sonic

Sonic isn't really good with memorizing reminders, his carefree attitude and fast pace of the world makes his head focus on other things than reminding people of things

But that doesn't mean he won't try to remind you to take your insulin

He isn't really a genius when it comes to health but he knows some of the basics like not using sweeteners or sugar in tea, making sure you always have insulin on hand and to always keep some before a meal

Sometimes sonic has to make himself look away as you pump a syringe inside your body before eating, no matter how many times he gets used to seeing you do that before eating, it makes him so sad knowing you have to do that everyday

It doesn't matter to sonic what kind of illness you have, as long as you're happy and healthy it makes him happy. He loves all his friends and that doesn't mean you'll get the same love, attention and more from him as his partner

Even when sonic isn't there he puts reminders and notes around your phone to remember stuff (even if you don't really need it) Sonic is trying his best but he knows he isn't able to do much that can help you which makes him sad almost everyday knowing he won't be able to take anything troublesome out your life to make it easier

Sonic still tries to be understanding and makes sure to sometimes drink tea without sugar for moral support no matter how bitter

Even if you chuckle, tell him he can add honey and that it doesn't bother you, he still persists as he tries to make jokes to lighten the mood and make sure you don't think about the mountain of syringes pumped with insulin and the lifelong condition you have

He'll make sure you're happy and remember as much as you can, he'll be the biggest help he can be!

Relationship hcs

Sonic may not have much time to spend but he makes every moment count, or at least tries to. Since Eggman is always plotting something, it is known as Sonic's "duty" to stop him while also keeping his charismatic personality

Some missions last months while some last a day or two, it varies a bit too much but that doesn't mean he isn't always there for you. I've said this before and I'll say it again: just because he isn't home much doesn't mean he won't think about you

His mind always wanders while fighting, thinking of you, at home waiting for him all alone (you're probably not alone but he likes to think so for his own ego) He doesn't like leaving you all alone but it is how it is

When he is at home he always wants to bring you with him outside. Mobius is such a pretty and sunny place so why not enjoy it? We all know he loves to run but he'd adjust his pace to be able to walk with you and listen to your day or whatever you say

We all know Sonic has immense pride and ego, so it isn't a surprise to other when he shows you off and makes sure everyone knows his love for you and the relationship you two have, to sonic, being yours and you being his is like a blessing. Sonic feels luck everyday knowing he's with someone he fully trusts and loves with his whole heart

Sonic knows that he won't always be there, that there's a lurking danger that he might croak during a battle, so he always tries to make the moment with you a good memory

^ he sees it fit to make many dates for the two of you, trying to make the memory one to hold onto, dinners, cuddles, movie nights, deep conversations while on a walk. You name it! He wants to remember his time with you forever and ever, he wants the same for you and he'll make sure it happens

His pet names for you are: babe, baby, my girl, babygirl (surprisingly), my love

Shadow

Shadow is stubborn, quiet and brooding, but that doesn't mean his memory is bad, he'll still be able to remind you daily to take insulin and actually researches what can make your blood sugar worse

He takes your condition seriously and tries his best to be there for you and help you with whatever you need: a ride to the doctors? Everyone get ready and buckle up! Cuz here we go (jay reference)

Shadow might be brooding but that doesn't mean he won't care for you and your health, he's like that with everyone even if he doesn't show it. His trauma of losing others has made him scared to feel that again so he becomes somewhat overbearing when it comes to your health concerns

He'll act like a mother and make sure you always have your insulin and drink tea without any sweeteners, this can obviously sometimes become too much to handle when he berates you for having high blood sugar or something else

The best way to get rid of that is sitting down and talk, listing a few reasons on why you need that overprotective kind of style to stop

Babes I know most of y'all throw an insult and can't make counter arguments but please learn to do that cuz it's a life long skill you'll need trust me

And you'll also need it here to be able to make him see how you don't like this overbearing behavior and nitpicking

If you do win the argument he'll try his best to tone it down, but that doesn't mean he won't stop helping you deal with it all. He's still too afraid you'll leave him one day or croak

Sometimes he just sits on his bed, thinking about you, it makes him nervous knowing you're dealing with something so horrid. We all know Shadow is more of a homebody so he tries to make dates indoors like a candle lit dinner, movie nights, plain cuddling and more!

Relationship !!

Shadow is very stubborn as we know (ahem idw) but he's still loving and listens to you/your ideas, he's already figured out what it means to lose people and he doesn't want to make the mistake of underappreciating someone again

He still sometimes has some nightmares of losing the ones he loves, including you, which makes him sometimes sleep on the couch as to not disturb your sleep. His nightmares usually consist of some places like the ark (did I say that right idk I blame the German dub) and his time there, when he does have nightmares he's in a vulnerable position, which he does not like at all, it'd best to console him at that time and hold him close while reassuring him you won't ever leave him

He tries his best to complete missions or outings as fast as possible so he can get back to you and do something together, even if it's just cooking a meal

His favorite things to do with you is definitely starting a new show, some of his favorite genres are definitely those crime involved action shows like 9-1-1 or something similar

His pet names for you are: my darling, love, precious, treasure and more stuff that makes you feel like royalty

EYES START GLOWING LIKE AN ANIME CHARACTER

ahem yes hello hi welcome to herearedragons dot tumblr dot com where being not normal about Selene (my moon godlike cipher) and Edér is my favorite pastime.

Selene's thing is that she's a cipher with Big Trauma from growing up in an Ondrite cult that almost ritually drowned her, and her first moment relating to Edér comes when she realizes the way he talks about Eothas reminds her a lot of how she feels about being an Ondrite: this thing that used to bring you comfort, walking through the halls of a temple and knowing that miracles are real, but it's gone now. gone because your god has directly or indirectly ordered your death, and you have chosen to live, and now you can never go back.

all throughout POE1 Edér is her closest friend out of all the canon companions, partially because she relates to him, partially because listening to his thoughts grounds her (she can't really turn off her telepathy but she can choose when and where to tune in), and partially because she just. likes him. his attitude of "you can tear your hair out and check yourself into the sanitarium, or you can keep going", his ability to find joy in the small things despite everything he's been through, his faith in people and his ability to understand what they feel. and for Edér, well, he really just needs a purpose and an excuse to do anything other than let Gilded Vale eat him alive, and following a shiny stranger is as good a reason as any, and at first she's weird and alien and impossible to read, but there are things about her he understands. he knows she's been through something bad, because the signs he sees in her he's seen in other soldiers and in himself. he knows she's keeping it to herself, and he doesn't pry because it's none of his business, but he also knows it can get lonely going like this, so he offers a little support, in whatever way she'll accept it. conversations by the campfire. he keeps her distracted with jokes. he tries to figure out if there's a substance she can take to make the voices in her head quieter - hey, he's got his whiteleaf, right? might work for her too.

basically not to quote my own post but before there ever was an "I love you" or even a "you're my friend" between these two there was an "I want you to live" and that's really the Edérene Thesis if I'm being real.

everything under the readmore is SPOILERS so everyone who hasn't finished the White March Part II DLC: DON'T LOOK

okay so The White March. The Ondra DLC. The Ondra And Abydon Were In Love DLC. the "wish they knew you like I did" DLC. that DLC.

my first iteration of Selene's White March arc had her stay behind to strike the crystal and realize some Feelings upon hearing Edér's "wish they knew you like I did" line, but the rewrite that eventually became the "canon" version for me is SO much more fun to me.

I wrote a whole fic about it and I am legally obligated to plug it here. it's like 10K words in total.

the short version is: Selene is DEEPLY unwell about the Abbey of the Fallen Moon and the Low Tide because that's what SHE was. when her cipher powers awakened supplicants would come to her to have painful memories removed, remembered by her instead, and when she couldn't bear it anymore she was supposed to be drowned like the Low Tide. but she wasn't. she killed four priests and escaped.

coming back to the White March, realizing that the Eyeless are Ondra's, feels like her decades of running away brought her exactly to where she started. a dread settles in. she's going to die here.

but she's stronger now. not alone. she resists. she defies Ondra again. she sets the Low Tide free. she reads past her words and realizes that she was in love with the god she killed.

Ondra decides to teach her a lesson.

there's no choice, when it comes to striking the crystal. Ondra sweeps in and floods the cave, and when the water recedes, almost all of Selene's party is by the exit, and one of them is near the crystal, with the hammer. and it's Edér. and there is a cave-in separating him from the exit.

see, Ondra saw her godlike standing there, having defied her over and over again, confident, in love (and she hasn't even realized it yet), and decided to put Selene in her place. make her choose between saving everyone and saving the man she loves.

Edér tells her to leave him. she tries to argue, but, eventually, she does. out in the snow, she collapses and communes with the Eyeless, and asks them to rebuild Abydon, to rebuild him angry, so he can hurt Ondra like she never could.

and then Edér survives. he's carried out of the cave by the spirits of the Forge. they both make it. and, at some point, Selene realizes two things:

- Ondra chose Edér as a direct stand-in for Abydon, because Selene loves him

- if she tries to act on her feelings, Ondra just might try to kill him again just out of pettiness

so Selene decides, well, it's fine. she doesn't really need anything more than they have right now, anyway. just having him around is enough. which serves her alright until Thaos is dead and Edér leaves to find his own way or whatever and she's UNWELL. she buries herself in work (restoring Dunryd Row after Lady Webb's death) and tries not to think about it (she's thinking about it.)

......about two years later she gets a letter from Edér saying that he settled down in Dyrford and inviting her over, and she starts visiting, and it takes a few months before Edér realizes having her in his house feels right in a way that probably Means Something aaaaand he confesses to her and she's not made of stone so she confesses right back and then they kiss about it. and by the time Deadfire rolls around they've been together for a couple of years and HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I think you might have to send me a separate ask about that one because it's a WHOLE OTHER THING and I've already typed out a lot but: basically I'm rewriting a lof of things about Deadfire Edér. kind of have to because they're Already In A Relationship. Bearn is still there. Selene is doing badly again. then she gets better. Selene has to confront the fact that, being elf-born, she's going to outlive Edér by A LOT. they have a breakup arc and then get married midgame.

At first, Dio underestimates your Stand. It looks small, maybe plush-like, maybe with big round eyes, something that couldn't possibly be a threat.

Then he sees it obliterate an enemy in an instant, without changing its cutesy expression.

“Hmph. Now that’s power,” he says with an intrigued smirk, but he watches your Stand very carefully after that. Even he isn’t immune to its deceptive charm.

He absolutely tests if he can command it to stay away, but quickly learns that your Stand is truly only harmless when you want it to be, which both infuriates and fascinates him.

Kars

Kars is unimpressed at first because he believes nothing can surpass his own power.

Then he sees your Stand’s ability in action, and it makes him pause.

"Interesting," he muses, analyzing it like a scientist, watching as it annihilates anything in its path while looking like a harmless little creature.

He doesn’t fear it, but he does respect it, and he even tests its limits. Could it evolve like him? He asks you all sorts of questions, fully intrigued.

He loves the contrast. Something as cute as your Stand hiding a monstrous power? It reminds him of himself,  beautiful but deadly.

Esidisi

"Oh, what a harmless little thing" He immediately looks down at your Stand when he first sees it, thinking it’s harmless.

A moment later, it eviscerates someone with a single move, and Esidisi stops mid-sentence.

He looks on in shock, then laughs- he loves it. He absolutely adores how deceptive it is.

He'll 100% play along with your Stand, acting like it's a pet, but knowing full well it could wipe out an army if it wanted to.

"Such a deceptive monster"

Wamuu

Wamuu respects all power, no matter the form it takes.

He does a double-take when he first sees your Stand, though, because it looks too innocent.

But the moment he sees it in battle, he understands. Power disguised as weakness is a strong strategy, and he admires that deeply.

“You wield something extraordinary,” he says solemnly, watching as your Stand ruthlessly destroys an enemy without ever looking threatening.

He trains with you and your Stand, testing its reaction time and abilities in battle. You can tell he truly respects it, never underestimating it.

Yoshikage Kira

He finds your Stand visually pleasing. If it’s cute, small, and soft-looking, he might even say it’s relaxing.

The first time he sees it destroy something in an instant, his calm smile falters just a little.

"Ah… fascinating," he murmurs, eyes narrowing. He both admires and fears it.

He’s slightly nervous around it after that- what if it accidentally activates near him?

"You have it under control… right?" he asks, carefully watching as it blinks at him with an innocent expression.

Diavolo

This man hates anything unpredictable, so your Stand’s deceptively cute nature bothers him.

"How can something so small and… irritatingly charming be so powerful?"

He keeps King Crimson on high alert whenever it’s near. He trusts you, but the Stand? Not so much.

He considers it an advantage, though. If people underestimate it, that works in your favor.

You can tell he respects it, but he also treats it like a loaded gun at all times.

Doppio

He adores your Stand at first. If it’s fluffy, round, or makes cute noises, he’s absolutely delighted by it.

"Boss! Look how cute it is!" he happily tells Diavolo, probably trying to pet it.

Then it demonstrates its horrifying power, and Doppio freezes.

He’s a little afraid of it after that, but he still tries to act normal around it.

"Good… um, good little Stand," he says, forcing a nervous smile as it tilts its adorable head at him.

Enrico Pucci

Pucci doesn’t care about appearances- only results.

The moment he witnesses its abilities, he acknowledges its value, regardless of how cute it looks.

"Your Stand is a deception in itself…."

He incorporates its strengths into his own plans, using its innocence as a tactical advantage.

If someone laughs at it, he simply watches as they meet their untimely demise moments later.

Funny Valentine

He sees your Stand as a perfect espionage tool. No one would suspect something so harmless-looking.

He'd use it in political situations, sending it into places where normal Stand users would be seen as a threat.

"Your Stand is a blessing to this nation," he tells you sincerely.

Of course, he also keeps a very close eye on it. If it's that powerful, he needs to make sure it never becomes his problem.

Diego Brando

He acts unimpressed. "It looks ridiculous."

Then he sees it demolish an opponent, and his smirk fades.

"…Alright. Maybe it's got something."

He’d definitely test if it’s more destructive than Scary Monsters, pitting it against his dinosaur form.

He quickly grows fond of it, but would never admit it, except maybe to you.

Tooru

He finds your Stand hilarious. The idea of something so adorable being so lethal? Absolute perfection.

He teases people about it, playing up how harmless it looks before watching it destroy them.

"Why are you afraid of this? It’s just a little toy," he says, barely holding back laughter as your Stand wipes out an entire room.

He probably tries to use it as part of his manipulation tactics- getting people to underestimate both himself and you.

But deep down, even he is slightly wary of it.
