warning: no smut! | lowercase intended | not proofread! | these are my headcanons for this character, please be respectful even if my opinions on the character differ from your own :)

A/N: this is a mix of headcanons + drabble but i hope thats alright it’s nice to take a break from smut every now and again :) i’ve got lots of dae-ho in my requests so i’ll try my best to feed you all .3. of course, i hope you enjoy!

⟢ the moment he first took notice of you as everyone was getting their photos taken for the games, he was completely starstruck. from that point forward, dae-ho found his eyes being drawn to you wherever you guys were

⟢ he felt a new sense of urgency to make sure you lived throughout these games, after red light green light he made a vow with himself to ensure you were protected at all costs. he was quick to introduce himself post the first game, and you guys were fast friends.

⟢ he’s not the type to be insecure or jealous when he sees you interacting with the other men inbetween games. there was few men you did talk to anyways, seeing as most of them either got on your nerves or intimidated you way too much. however, he did find himself a tiny bit jealous when he saw how easily you got along with the other guys in his group

⟢ you didn’t end up making it on dae-ho’s team for the six legged pentathlon, but he did his best to calm your nerves before the game started up. he promised he would cheer you on and that he definitely did. he definitely lit up when you ran up to him afterwards, going on about how worried you were about him after you left

⟢ he 100% would share his food with you, especially if he noticed you were particularly shaken up after a game

⟢ adding onto the last piece, dae-ho will also definitely try to cheer you up after the games

⟢ i think he would definitely hold off on asking you out, especially during such a high stakes situation as the squid games. at some point later on, when you guys are closer, you two will promise to see more of each other once the games are finished.

⟢ although dae-ho certainly isn’t one to start a fight, he will put himself between you and any unruly players who try to start something with you. he doesn’t have any trouble putting someone in their place if he feels you would be in any sort of danger

⟢ insisted that you slept with his group during lights out, so he could watch over you and be certain on your safety when you were sleeping

⟢ 100% hugs you tightly after the mingle game, especially if you two got separated. you could tell he didn’t want to let you go at this point, as he was definitely worried that you didn’t make it into a group before the time ran out

⟢ will for sure ask you all about your life before the games, and even about what you’ll do with the prize money when you guys get out

apologies for the less headcanons this time around! i saw more opportunities for small drabbles between the headcanons and i had to seize it! i had a lot of fun writing this out, and i hope you guys all had just as much fun reading it! as always any advice/constructive criticism on how i can improve my writing is appreciated and requested

so, eventually i do plan on doing a bigger deep dive into my "they're all katherine" meta, which will likely end up being at the end of the show so i can have a full picture of all the ways they were each used as katherine and how that impacted the show as a taming adaption. i think it'll be nice bookends, seeing as i wrote that initial meta after ep1 and it just ended up becoming more and more true as the show has gone on (next week especially because style will be getting more katherine moments and he hasn't gotten much!).

however, right now, i do actually want to talk about kant a little bit as katherine. it's been said a million times at this point, not just by me but also by others, that kant and fadel are very much the same character in different fonts (also another deep dive post i'll probably end up doing towards the end of the show even if we're all very aware of it... i just like gathering evidence), and i think that does feed into this as well. because kant is arguably the most like katherine outside of fadel and i think the thing that really cements this is something that i realized earlier today when i was talking to rob @paalove about taming.

one of the reasons that taming is my favorite shakespeare play is because it is one of, if not the, most hotly debated shakespeare plays of all time because of the content and specifically because of the character of katherine. she is the titular character, the shrew that needs to be tamed, and it is the very act of her taming that makes the play controversial. by the end of the play, katherine has been turned from a strong, independent character into the dutiful wife, and there are so many debates out there about her. whether or not she is actually happy in this position, if her ending monologue about wives being loyal to their husbands is genuine or not, if she is actually truly tamed or if it is all an act. which, in a very meta sense, that is in itself a perfect parallel to kant because he IS the most hotly debated character in the heart killers. while there is plenty of interest when it comes to the others, kant is the one that is polarizing and dividing the audience because so many people view him in different ways.

however, in a very literal sense, kant is like katherine in her most basic elements. because no matter how you view the end of the play, how you view the taming of katherine, there is no way you can spin the play that doesn't end with katherine being trapped in a marriage with the man that abused her - and whether or not you think she's happy about that or not does not change the fact that that is a horrible thing for her to have to deal with and that by the end of the play, she has no agency. the best way that i can describe katherine and her fate in the play is that she is, at her core, a tragic character that has been placed in a comedic setting.

and boy. if that isn't just kant to a t. someone that is, in every sense of the word, tragic - trapped by their circumstances and having no real agency or choice in the things they do. and yet, he's in a romantic comedy. how very katherine of him.

After that last chapter imagine Percy gets a thirst for flesh or blood of a god and one day she literally does eat a god I can imagine Poseidon’s reaction would either be “awwwww look at my daughter/wife would you like me to get you another one?? Are you not full yet?” Or “if you wanted the flesh of a god why didn’t you just ask me?!? Who knows where that thing has been🙄” 

Either way I can just see him not caring that Percy is a cannibal tbh he’d probably just fully support her or sum I can even see their kids having that same issue with being cannibals ( imagine that being a whole thing with their kids mermaids feed on the flesh of humans while their kids feed on the flesh of gods )

But how would the other yanderes and the other gods/humans react?

okay so in the last chapter, i asked you guys if the whole blood-drinking thing counted as cannibalism cuz i put it in the warnings and all. and i got a lot of feedback saying it didn't count and only flesh eating was considered cannibalism.

i lowkey started contemplating going back and just removing the cannibalism warning but then i had.... an idea 💡

why don't i just make her a REAL cannibal then by having her eventually eat godly flesh later on!!! 😋😋😋

so yes, the cannibalism warning still stands because percy will eat DIVINE FLESH in the future!!!!!!!!!! cuz why not lmao. i love monstrous mermaids/sirens in the og horror stories where they eat people, might as well have our little mermaid evolve from drinking gods' ichor to EATING THEIR FLESH 👹👹👹

the other yans wouldn't give a shit at all tbh. once they realize ichor temporarily puts an end to her ever-growing tortuous agony of her soul being split apart, best believe they're gonna serve her as much ichor as they can to keep her from feeling any pain (not too much tho cuz they don't want her to incinerate herself). hell, they would even prefer it if she were to feed from THEM and actually get jealous if she were to feed on others 😂😂😂

in cú chulainn's case tho, since he's a demigod (and who knows.... maybe that could change in the future.... 👹) and has no ichor, he would definitely hunt down gods for her. this dude beat the supreme god and the ruler of the egyptian pantheon, he would ABSOLUTELY hunt gods for sport to feed his needy little cannibal 🥺

the other gods would be a little stunned tho. cuz if you remember my old posts about the ror giants (here), gods and other beings were eaten alive and killed by gaea's giants. but they'd get over it eventually cuz it's percy. she is nothing like the giants, hell they could tell that she's even ashamed of herself after it happens so they're not worried about her randomly deciding to just kill every god

i don't have the screenshots on hand because this is just a thought i needed to let out after being woken up by my buildings fire alarm at 7am (i am in shambles, thanks for asking) but back at the start of canto 7 i was trying to figure out what in the Fuck hong lu meant by don quixote being 'the most lucid' of the sinners and eventually my read was that she's the one who's most clear on what she wants because hong lu brought up how her eyes are sparkling and the two times dante notes someone's eyes sparkling in that episode (?) were when don talks about saving all the people in la manchaland and when charon says she wants to eat candy at an amusement park, and also this would very nicely mirror the bit in the final sancho fight when dante ruminates about how so far they've been trying to help the sinners out of their issues by figuring out what they want and then promising it to them but with sancho she doesn't want anything because everything she's wanted as don quixote was part of that dream that she's now woken up from (especially with dulcinae talking at length about the difference between sancho and don's eyes)

but like..... there's one other thing about eyes that dante notices in that early episode

so i'm wondering if this is an idea that's gonna come back in canto 8, that dante's old tricks aren't going to work here either because hong lu just doesn't really want anything for himself when he's been living his whole life surrendering (hah) himself to being used by other people for their own goals
