The Owl House
(Originally posted on my personal Facebook dated April 25, 2023)
This is probably the first time I'll be posting a detailed review of a piece of media that I like, so witness me sing all of my praises for this animated series from the House of Mouse, because wow, I've never been so invested in a Disney show after rewatching Gravity Falls.
For those unfamiliar, The Owl House revolves around Luz Noceda, a teenage girl who stumbles upon a portal to an alternate world called The Boiling Isles, meets a witch named Eda Clawthorne, learns magic under her tutelage and eventually enrolls in Hexside, a magic school where she makes many friends and goes on multiple adventures.
I binged this whole show in a span of weeks and even stayed up all night on my day off to finish it up to Season 3, the first 2 Seasons being on Disney+ and the latter on Disney Channel's YouTube page.
Simply put, I love it so much! I love how it reminds me of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and, dare I say, Harry Potter, which it even poked fun at, at times. Well-deserved, considering J.K. Rowling’s transphobic views and HP’s underlying anti-Semitic undertones.
I loved the pop culture references to Thor: Ragnarok, Howl's Moving Castle, Metal Gear Solid, and even Hades, among many others! I thought those were very clever and funny, and just a treat for fellow nerds, geeks, and fans of fantasy stories, anime, and video games.
I love the LGBTQ+ representation all throughout the show, which was such a bold move considering Disney’s iffy stance on the subject. None of them were antagonized for it, and it was treated as something normalized in both the Human and Demon Realms. The show featured 2 gay dads, non-binary and aromantic-asexual characters, and one of the internet’s favorite sapphic/WLW couples Lumity, which is the ship consisting of canonically bisexual Luz and implied lesbian Amity Blight, whose rivals-to-friends-to-lovers relationship was just so wholesome, so natural, and very healthy, considering they're both teenagers. Suprisingly, there was very little melodrama, not once were they petty towards one another whenever either party did something wrong, and they never got tired of showing affection towards each other. I found myself shamelessly gushing over how cute, adorable, and supportive they were together, and tearing up a lot during key moments of their relationship, especially when they both found themselves in dire straits as the story progressed.
I love the writing and the character development of them all! None of them felt static, they all grew throughout the series, maturing, getting better, and healing from their own insecurities, trauma, and guilt. The humor and comedic timing was a nice touch, and I was really taken aback by how S2 ended on such a dark cliffhanger with all stakes raised to the roof, similar to A:TLA S2 and The Empire Strikes Back, as mentioned earlier. That season wasn’t afraid to have such a grim ending, with such a great payoff by the end of S3 which is worth celebrating.
I love the animation and art style, which blended colorful and whimsical with eerie and ominous in just the right amounts. As a sucker for animated movies and series such as Adventure Time, The Prince of Egypt, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, it was just such a delight watching it.
I love the overarching message of the show, which is to be truly yourself, to embrace your quirks, and never to limit yourself and your potential based on what the majority of society and the powers-that-be expect from you. All throughout, you’ll find the characters challenging pre-established norms and roles, and it’s just so satisfying seeing them all win.
11/10 top-tier show. Don’t @ me, it’s hard for me to find something I disliked about the series. It's definitely a must-watch, especially if you're sick and tired of all the bleak nihilism of modern adult animation, and you just want to baby your inner child and escape to a whimsical fantasy world with characters you can all relate to. Betting my bottom peso you'll all be hooked, like I was.

DS9 2x11 Rivals thoughts (rewatching, so possible future spoilers)
OH, YES, I've been looking forward to this one, the first step towards Miles-Julian friendship, right? :D (It's a Julian episode, care to guess how often I'm going to tell you I love him?... 😅 Too many times probably 😬)
Cold-open: oh yeah, I think I really enjoyed this scammer plotline too last time ^^
I shouldn't be quite so amused at Julian's accidental swearing at Miles, but it is right there.
Again, this manages to make so much sense after Julian's genetic engineering reveal - he beat a Vulcan! If I didn't know it was a lst-minute addition, I'd be praising how well they subtly wove it in for years before the plot happened!
Julian's such an awkward bean and I love him
...tfw your cellmate dies on you.
I love how deadpan this dude is, he's great
Oh, Miles <3
IT'S SO WEIRD Miles calling him Bashir, not Julian
Keiko, my love. This was a brief appearance but I appreciated seeing you.
I love Julian and Jadzia just being friends? I want to read more fic of them just being besties, cos they are
This entire scene is amazing; and the sauce not working? Perfection.
"That's too young to die!" You dramatic little so-and-so XD
Julian just wants to be friends with the chief, bless him, he's a good egg really!
'Don't trust a man wearing a better suit than your own' NAH, your suit is way better, Quark
HOW IS JULIAN THIS BAD AN ACTOR. My goodness, man you don't have to miss a shot by a mile to lose. I despair...
Quark so desperately trying to shut down this dude's business. "He's a con-artist, a crook." "One more won't make much difference." Really, Quark, what did you expect?
Quark is so shook up by Rom's departure...
"He shaves the latinum." "I do not... (offscreen) Not much!" These two I swear
SHE is a GREAT con artist and I am HERE FOR IT
"I slipped on the ball?" Julian ever the doctor wanting to check Miles out... <3
Oh, Julian sounds so sad about having to go and not wanting a rematch. He really wanted this to work. Sweetheart
"Tell me your problems, all of them." Oh Quark you just have to be the best at everything don't you? And of course you'll think of a scheme while you're at it.
"My terminal just self-destructed." Wow.
"You make your own luck" *off screen bump* DS9 has got this comedy thing down :P
And naturally, everyone hits the jackpot at once. Man, luck episodes are so much fun, I really am enjoying this one.
Julian and Miles' confused faces while Quark sets up the match. And their realisation it'll be hard to refuse once the war orphans are mentioned. Oh I love this so much!
Julian's really upset about this. I guess he has reasons for not wanting to play in front of folk, huh? In case someone spots how weirdly good he is, perhaps? > Maybe he's showing off with all his preparation and warm-up exercises - even for Miles - as some sort of explanation for his ability; "he just prepares well and is really into it all, honest!"
Julian's not quite as naïve as Quark thinks he is, and good for him!
Oh boy, he has had it with Quark's interference.
Aww, he's so pleased and surprised by the handshake! :3
Their confused faces at the ball not obeying physics! These two!
Okay so Miles looks like Thor, right, while he's just standing there waiting for the ball to get back in his hand XD
"Not impossible, just extremely improbable." Jadzia you gem
This last scene is ace, the crooks all getting their comeuppances and Quark's enjoyment of the whole situation while the dude (yeah I never learnt his name shh) still manages to get money out of him XD
Okay that episode is EXCELLENT, I thoroughly enjoy all plots in it, it's very very good.

MCU Rewatch The Avengers
My immediate impression of The Avengers is, “Wow! What a let down!” This was like episode 22/24 of every season of trash shonen, just recap and filler the whole way through.
Obviously, there are some really cool parts that show off our favorite characters, but even from the get-go it’s so fucking edge-lord. It’s like the creative team had been building up to this great crossover while the financial team had been building up to mass appeal and now they were like, “FINALLY we can capture the rest of the market with what people really want: over-the-top action and clashing personalities. That’s all superhero stories are, right?”
I mean, Loki is so upset about his loss that he’s twisted the events to make it seem like he was wronged?
Give me a break; no you were not! Overall, this hit-the-ground-running start would’ve been better executed if they had been bolder. Right off the bat, two major players are taken off the board. Too bad we’ve barely seen anything of them and don’t give a crap about them. Hawkeye, who literally is not called this throughout the entire movie and is a fully-fledged Avenger, and Erik Selvig, the scientist from Thor who wasn’t as hot or young as the other two scientists and thus got way less screen time during that movie (not much here either).
So they were too scared to remove real players from the board or have the threat do something reasonable. I mean, what is with this plan anyway? It makes no sense! Why does Loki need the Chitauri to steal the Tesseract and take over Earth if he can just mind control whoever he wants on Earth? Are you seriously telling me that Loki, god of mischief, can’t find a way to steal something from humans unless he tricks humans using something other than his powers of trickery?
He absolutely needs this magic space stick to do this, even though humans are one of the weakest species around? And then, if he succeeds, he’ll rule over a planet that got flattened and then occupied by the Chitauri, surrounded by darkness like the preteen emo he’s imitating? Then what? What’s the plan? Worst of all, he keeps making Hawkeye do that thing with the bow that got put in by some blowhard convinced that it was the only way to get women in the theater.
Why does he do it 2/3 times he gets the bow out? And why doesn’t he then use the bow?? That’s right, both freaking times he does this stupid move, there is NO ARROW SHOOTING AFTERWARDS.
And then we get to Cap and begin getting plot whiplash as they bounce around to introduce characters. Apparently they didn’t learn anything from the Hulk movie because we’re once again inundated with flashing images like Malcolm McDowell, hoping to god the person next to us doesn’t have any questions about the origin story for one character in a movie with fucking 5 other movies as the setup.
Between screenshots and gifs, we see he’s just beating the shit out of sandbags, all sad and lonely because he’s a man out of time. Why the hell did they cut Ashley Johnson’s part?
That really helped cement his feelings of being out of place, isolated, and ultimately betrayed by the universe in response to his sacrifice. Actually, all I could think about during the sandbag scene was, “Jesus, this guy loses pretty much everyone he knows twice.” I hadn’t considered that when I first watched Endgame, but he’s holding people together because he’s kind of already been through this before.
Luckily (or something), this kind of introduction begins and ends with Captain America. Iron Man and Black Widow get pretty normal introductions that work well for their characters and show off their “thing” — Black Widow being a hot, smarmy badass and Tony Stark being a hot, smarmy, rich badass.
Finally the Hulk is pulled in. Oh he’s so scary, but he’s just a normal guy really! That’s why they sent the hot woman in, to lure him. But he’s also smart, so he doesn’t fall for that! But he’s also super dangerous; do you see how scared the badass woman is, even though she wasn’t scared before? Wow, better watch out for this guy! He’s probably like the most dangerous one of the group!
Okay, that was a little too scary. Better just skip the hulk for now…and most of the rest of the movie.
Things do get a lot better once they’re all together on the airship. Oh yeah, Thor shows up.
Anyways, now they’re all together on an airship for really no reason other than airships are cool as fuck. Because realistically, an airship is just about the worst fucking place to be if you’re a flightless species starting a war against space aliens with way better tech that can definitely take down the airship.
There’s a good half hour here of character development that’s basically the best part of the movie. Tony Stark and Bruce Banner commiserate over science, Captain America gains a bit of appreciation for the fact that he’s the only real soldier among them, Black Widow considers the idea that not everyone around her is an idiot…oh, and we’re introduced to the shadow clan who controls everything on this planet and surely aren’t evil even though they are barely willing to show their faces during a private convo with a top employee.
Oh, you thought Nick Fury was the questionable-nice-guy-who-is-actually-really-evil? No, he’s just black and not in a rom-com. He’s actually super nice and considerate of the feelings of all the Avengers; it’s just that most of the time he has to be all business and can’t be nice.
Except that he’s not when you move away from this movie! What the fuck does he do immediately after this? Takes Coulson’s body and reanimates it using alien blood, torture, and brainwashing. He is a questionable guy at best! But that’s the secret military, baby! Show us that stuff!!
Eventually in the MCU they do show us this, and I get all this shit that they did to create mass appeal. It works, it’s well executed, and it’s easy to do. However, good god how could they??
I remembered this movie as having been a bit weak, but I had no reason for it. Now I remember why; hardly anything happens! ALL of the main action happens within the last 30 minutes of the movie, including however long the credits are. Yes, there’s an action scene at a museum in the beginning and a few others mixed in, but other than these spare few minutes of action we see almost nothing of the threat to Earth. And then this big, bad threat is defeated in less than 30 minutes.
Yes, it’s a longer amount of time in-world, but still it’s just crazy to me that the main hook of the story really only consumes about 45 minutes of the movie. Literally even the characters forget what the hell they’re doing, being reminded about Loki after the main battle.
This movie was okay and even though lots of people love it, I have to give it a paltry 5 out of 10. You could walk into this movie knowing almost nothing about the MCU and have a good time. That’s damning for a series of movies. It’s an unpopular opinion, but I just don’t think that somebody should be able to walk into movie number 6 of a series and just be totally with it, get everything, and not have to think about what’s happening too much. That completely defeats the point of a damn series.
Iron Man 3 is next up. Ugh. I hate this one, specifically because of the damn kid and the idea that having a kid around is the only way to be motivated enough to think about the future and consider improving it.
But okay, let’s see how it goes. After this, I think the movies get a lot better up until Endgame. They start to give up on building the audience further and instead focus on keeping the audience after the poor reception of Iron Man 3. (I’m not alone in my negativity this time!)

10/01/22
Wow did September really just fly by like that? Feels like just 2 weeks ago I was doing this for August but heres my self accountability post for the end of the 9th month of 2022
Lets start with the ol resale business. Historical Days was a big success. I got rid of a lot of my old stock from the shed and made a nice profit on the weekend. Really wish I could get to more festivals and markets. That was a goal for this year that I am failing at. eBay had gone cold since the first week of September but I had 3 sales this week. With 4th quarter starting now hopefully it will be getting even better. I learned a lot last week at eBay open, lets see if I can transform that into sales. I also am looking into a booth at a local flea market that is open on Fridays. Possibly going to open there in November. Its a risk and a big step but it just may be time.
Classes started Monday in my Ag science and organic growing classes. Its been a challenge this week but I feel im back in the flow. I even got my first week assignment done early, y'all know thats a big one for me.
Things around the Homestead are winding down into what I refer to as hibernation time. The garden is ready to be put to bed, hopefully I get to that nexg week. Pears and apples need picked. Gotta dig potatoes yet and see how that harvest is. Lots of little things but its about over.
I didn't have a single Wrestling show this month. We did do our company picnic last Saturday but besides that nothing. The quiet is killing me. October has a couple but November is really bare. Gotta do something about this.
My TV back log has gotten worse. Im weeks behind on Wrestling. Its really ridiculous lol. I haven't watched any of She-Hulk or House Of Dragons. Seems everyday I add on another episode or 5 of the network shows that I try to catch as much of as possible like FBI or Law & Order. I haven't even seen the new Thor yet. I am caught up on Andor of course and am still working through my rewatch of Fear the walking dead. For someone that completely cut the cord this list is nuts!
Speaking of cutting the cord lets discuss my "off grid" life as it is. So many projects and ideas I had for the summer went unstarted. I really had hoped to have a little wood stove set up but not even close. I did get a bucket washing machine built for hand washing and of course my water collection system grew nicely. But still im way behind even though im far better than I was last year at this time.
My health has been good and ive really been doing well at eating. Im near my calorie goal almost everyday. Cooler weather really helps as does less time spent working outside. Now to finally start regular workouts again.
With just a month to go its time to start really planning and working on the upcoming holiday season here and at the Santa House. All while trying to enjoy spooky season too. Its a juggling act sometimes.
The personal life thing is pretty much as wacky as always. Mom and Dad have both been doing good. Dad has a bum shoulder but he says it is feeling a little better. Tyler has been coming around a little bit more now that he has Whiskey to take out. She sure is a cutie and becoming a good pal of mine. I been thinking again about a new cat or dog. Maybe near Christmas? My special person and myself have had a difficult time of getting together. Always seems to be something come up. Its hard with busy lives and a bit of a distance between us. We have plans for next Saturday so hopefully.... It was great to hang out with the Wrestling family last week, tomorrow I get more of that plus the Town Meeting crew. Having a small social life is sad at times but it makes me enjoy it more when it happens. A goal for 2023 is more interaction with friends and family and less alone time!
I think thats enough for tonights book. If you made it through thanks for reading. These things are always kinda hard for me to do but I really feel that they along with you who do read help me keep myself in check.

i apparently enjoy putting down my thoughts on the off chance someone will read it and enjoy it so here’s rwby rewatch vol 3. i’m ready to be sad!!
(note: it’s long i’m sorry, i have many thoughts and i tried to narrow it down but oh boy do i think im funny)
- the SOUND DESIGN. AGAIN
- ruby you’re so precious. so sweet. so eager. so earnest. c’mere and i’ll protect you from all the bad shit that happens to you later
- hi cardboard cutout tai
- i keep getting an ad for a rooster teeth show called camp betrayal and the way this man says “hoo hoo hoo” will haunt me for the rest of time
- oh shit the fact that it’s called amity has such insane implications for what it’s used for later. jesus.
- “bffs!” No.” “…/yessss/” love them
- yeet the yang
- god ruby’s admiration of emerald is so sad in retrospect like… oh boy ruby you’re in for it
- PYRRHAAAAA I LOVE YOU DONT LEAVE ME
- “even if you know how a story ends, that doesn’t make it any less fun to watch” wow cinder are you psychic
- ummmm they’re having a talk can you please respect their privacy
- thor whomst??? i only know nora valkyrie
- BROODY MAN
- hiiiii gavin
- so much mid battle banter. in the middle of a big important fight they just have to make jokes and argue. i love teenagers
- SILENCE YOU BOOB
- awww winter you’re a disaster and you’re horribly emotionally repressed because of your bitch ass dad but jesus christ you care about your little sister and you wanna know she’s doing okay and i’m emotional about it
- PENNYYYYY my love just keep being you
- jeez i forgot how early on ironwood was talking his shit about being “someone who will act”, the “only person” who will do what needs to be done, as if his course of action is what needs to be done
- every single person who underestimates emerald and mercury gets so fucked up. like so many people look at these youngerish teenagers with some funny one liners and banter and go “oh they seem capable and they’re confident and funny so i like em but i can take em” and then absolutely get the shit kicked out of them. and i think that’s why they’ve been so successful, cause nobody takes them seriously enough to consider them a threat.
- see this is why i love rwby. coco just turned her handbag into a gatling gun and cut down a field of grass with it
- god the way they hint at emerald’s semblance before fully showing what it is. *chef’s kiss*
- winter marry me
- we love an uncle who absolutely destroys his nieces at video games
- “they do and they’re called silver!” ruby i love you
- top heavy. heheh
- this dude’s weapon is a trumpet!! she’s got glowing nunchucks!! i love this show!!
- this battle music is AMAZING what the FUCK they’re fighting to JAZZ
- cinder if you keep having vague ominous dialogue people are gonna get the wrong idea
- oh yeah great idea asking a child to take on immense power which sends her into a stressed out panicky spiral and alienates her from the people she finally feels legitimately connected to and for once didn’t feel alienated from
- oh fuck. oh fuck the finals. oh god. oh no.
- she’s so happy. she’s so ready to have a good fight. i’m gonna cry
- FUCK
- and with one moment, the entire show flipped on its head
- god when i watched that the first time i fuckin freaked. i was not prepared man. i was warned. but i was not prepared for this much of a fucking tone change man. that quickly. like tone changes (in my experience) normally happen gradually, but this one happened in, what? 30 seconds?
- fuck
- god this is so bad
- and it GETS WORSE i can’t do this
- love that we can see yang’s distraught eyebrows through her bangs
- after this episode was the first time my friend asked me “how we doing buddy?” and i’ve only wanted to kill her more since then
- oh god emerald’s backstory. this poor child. she was so alone and cinder was there and said i can give you a place i can give you a purpose i can give you security and emerald latched on so hard.
- hiiiii laura bailey i wish you had more than a lil baby line and some sounds of effort
- god that little anklet
- god what a fuckin backstory episode man. backstory? evil plan explanation? idk but it was good
- great parent move. telling your kid you’ll only save them once.
- jaune you sweet good boy. what a good boy. i love him
- god this poor child. she doesn’t deserve this. FUCK i’m so sad. is that the last conversation they have?
- oooooh shit this song is so good. what the fuck i have chills it’s so fitting
- god everyone else is so happy and excited and then there’s ruby who is one of the very few people who knows how bad a fight between penny and pyrrha could be and pyrrha who’s got to decide if she wants someone else’s aura smushed with hers, which could turn her into a different person. FUCK
- peeeennyyyyy “salutations!! it’s an honor to meet you!” it huuuurts
- it makes me so sad but damn was this a good diabolical plan
- god im so sad. penny is so good. and pyrrha’s fuckin eyes. and ruby just collapsing. jesus christ. it’s all fuckin falling apart
- oh fuck here we go. those klaxons are so terrifying
- it makes me so happy that torchwick gets rescued and then like maybe a couple episodes later just gets swallowed
- the fuckin adam fight is coming up too. jesus. really piling on here
- RUBY IS USING ONE OF PENNY’S SWORDS IM GONNA CRYYY
- and she doesn’t even hesitate to save pyrrha
- the one and only time (to my memory) that ironwood is gentle is when he says no one would blame the students if they left. that might be the last time he actually remembers that they’re all teenagers and feels sympathy for these children with all this pressure on them
- oh yeah the big boy
- the first time i watched this i was LOSING MY MIND this whole time. like yang attacked mercury and from then on man. just freaking out.
- eurgh grimm juice
- c’mon blake you got this. i mean. technically you don’t. the fight goes poorly. but you fuckin try and you’re so brave about it and i love youuu
- shut the FUCK up adam you GROOMED her you ASSHOLE
- aahhhh i love velvet!!! her semblance and her whole fighting style is so goddamn cool and has such interesting implications for using weapons and powers of people who are dead
- OH SHIT SHE DOES SUMMON HERE DOESNT SHE. partly but still
- get fucked, torchwick. GET FUCKED. get fuckin chomped
- a backhanded slap feels so much more violent than any fighting with weapons
- uh oh evil katniss
- god. the fucking blood splatter turning the whole shot red. just their silhouettes. the slow motion. the arm slowly separating.
- my friend was also a big fan of “how we feeling?”
- bad. the answer is bad you fuckin sadist
- oz is… a lot of things, and one of them is a goddamn good fighter
- oh god oh noooo she’s gonna kiss & yeet AWWWW FUCK this is heartbreaking
- pyrrha i love you
- if i don’t look it’s not real
- oh pyrrha my love
- awww hey tai. what a good dad. love tai
- i’m so sad. everyone’s so sad. and then salem just has to do an ominous lil monologue where she lays out her whole plan to divide them and makes a fuckin semblance pun. she’s such a good villain
- jacque you stiff bitch
- they’re all fuckin scattered and depressed
- love team rnjr tho
- there she is. god what an ending

Movies I watched in February
fyi, I have zero knowledge on how to professionally rate or review a movie. I am not gonna pay attention to every little detail. these rating are simply based on how much I enjoyed/liked the movie
Follow me
Unhinged
In Time
Avengers Age of Ultron
Songbird
Star Trek
Step up all in
Project Almanac
Ant Man
Space Sweepers
Christiane F.
Jurassic World
Jurassic World the fallen kingdom
1. follow me
A social media personality travels with his friends to Moskow to capture new content for his successful vlog. Always pushing the limits and catering to a growing audience, they enter a cold world of mystery, excess, and danger.
starring: Keegan Allen, Holland Roden, Denzel Whitaker, Ronen Rubenstein, Pasha D. Lchnikoff
the end was very predictable and i pretty much already knew halfway through the movie what was gonna happen. but it still was quite thrilling and I did enjoy watching it
6.5/10
2. unhinged
After a confrontation with an unstable man at an intersection, a woman becomes becomes the target of his rage.
starring: Russel Crowe, Caren Pistorius, Gabriel Batemen
hm idk, I didn’t really like it, my sister didn’t really like it but my mom did, I think. it just seemed so, no overdramatic but just too much in a way
3/10
3. in time
In a future where people stop aging after 25 and need to buy time to live, the rich become immortal while others cease to exist. So, Will is on the run with a hostage in a desperate bid to survive.
starring: Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, Olivia Wilde, Alex Pettyfer
yes, such a good movie. Ireally like the concept. can recommend
7/10
4. avengers age of ultron
When Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it’s up to Earth’s mightiest heroes to stop the villanious Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.
starring: Robert Downy Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johanson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Bettany
hell yes, one of my favourite marvel movies. Wanda and Pietro.. Hawkeye.. all the little jokes throughout the entire movie and of course the scene where everyone tries to lift thor’s hammer, what’s not to love about this movie
10/10
5. songbird
In 2024 a pandemic ravages the world and it’s cities. Centering a handful of people as they naviagete the obstacles currently hindering society: disease, marital law, quarantine, and vigilantes.
starring: K.J. Apa, Sofia Carson, Demi Moore, Bradley Whitford, Peter Stromare, Alexandra Daddario, Craig Robinson
I really enjoyed watching this. yeah sure, the ending was obvious but I was still glued to the screen. I also felt super weird watching this, kinda surreal because we are basically living a more harmless version of this rn. I really liked seeing sofia carson in such a movie, I’ve only seen her in the descendants so this was a bit of a change haha. I’m not that big of a fan of kj but he was great as well and i really loved his characters style.
7/10
6. star trek
The brash James T. Kirk tries to live up to his father’s legacy with Mr. Spock keeping him in check as a vengeful Romulan from the future creates black holes to destroy the Federation one planet at a time.
starring: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Carl Urban, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Zoe Zaldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin
I put it on because I wanted to have some background noise while playing sims but I ended up playing like 20 minutes and then just watching the movie haha I forgot how good it was, and the others as well, aaand I totally forgot carl urban was in it, so that was a little surprise. anyways, can recommend watching them if you’re into sci-fi action movies but at the same time, if you’re into that I’m pretty sure you’ve already watched them.
7.5/10
bonus: I also watched star trek beyond the other day but this time I was barely paying attention so I can't really say too much, but it's also quite good👍🏻
7. step up all in
All-stars from the previous Step up installments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers.
starring: Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Adam Sevani, Misha Gabriel Hamilton, Sephen Stevo Jones, David Schreibman, Mari Koda, Alyson Stoner, Izabella Miko
definetly one of my favourite dance movies. highly recommend it!! I’d like it more without the romancde but it’s fine, I guess, I can live with it haha and the last performance... wow just wow that’s all I can say to that. y’all go watch it
9/10
8. project almanac
A group of teens discover secret plans of a time machine, and construct one. However, things start to get out of control.
starring: Jonny Weston, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Sam Lerner, Allen Evangelista, Virginia Gardner
okay... I did enjoy watching it! the beginning was a little slow imo but then it just got more and more intense which was kinda nice. god, at some point the main guy kept making the wrong decisions and that was very frustrating to watch. the ending was alright, spoiler ahead (I guess) I would have liked the ending more if it was the exact same as the beginning, meaning that the movie is just one big time loop and the events from the movie were about to repeat themselves. but that's just my opinion🤷🏻♀️
6.5/10
9. ant man
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his Mentor Dr. Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
starring: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, David Dastmalchian, T.I.
another one of my favorite mcu movies. it's just fun and easy and doesn't have a lot of pain in it. the giant ant it's my favorite part haha I want it as a pet
9/10
10. space sweepers
Set in the year 2092 and follows the crew of a space junk collector ship called The Victory. When they discover a humanoid robot named Dorothy that's known to be a weapon of mass destruction, they get involved in a risky business deal.
starring: Song Joong-Kim, Kim Tae-ri, Seon-kyu Jin, Hyang-gi Kim, Richard Armitage, Ye-Rin Park
I really loved this movie. I cried like 6 times haha, which came unexpected. (or maybe it's because I'm suppose to get my period any day now) I did not think I was going to enjoy this movie as much as I did, at all. it was fun, it was exciting, it was sad (even my dad said that) the plot was good, the visual effects were amazing, it did feel like I was watching this movie for like 5 hours but not in a bad way and I am now kinda emotionally attached to the characters haha (I might do a rewatch). another thing I really liked was the language/synchronization. in the original version they speak mostly korean and english but also some other languages and it's the same in the synchronizations. the dialogue of the main characters is in the language you pick but every other character (I guess) is a different language and I absolutely love that. I highly recommend watching this!!
also, its was super weird seeing Richard Armitage not as a dwarf hahaha
10/10
11. christiane f.
A teen girl in 1970's Berlin becomes addicted to heroin. Everything in her life slowly begins to distort and disappear as she befriends a small crew of junkies and falls in love with a drug-abusing male prostitute.
starring: Natja Brunckhorst, Thomas Haustein, Jens Kuphal, Christiane Reichelt
I binged the series the other day and after the last episode this movie was in the "watch next" thingy idk and I thought "well, why not" and watched it. good movie, definitely!! I really liked that they didn't show the highs of doing heroin but focused on the negative effects it has on someone and what it's doing to your body. it is a super realistic but very very dark movie. the actors were all about 15/16 years old and looked very young which was a good and kinda disturbing thing because christiane and her friend were like 13/14 when that all happened and it made you realise that there were kids doing all that stuff
9/10
12. jurrasic world
A new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.
starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty simpkins, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D'Onofrio
13. jurassic world fallen kingdom
When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon
I am tired and don't really want to say all that much other than both of them are very good and I do like them. good action/adventure movies. can definitely recommend them. I definitely like the first one more because it feels like (just a little bit) that the main story in the second one is the same as in the first one, someone creates a new dinosaur species to make more money and something goes terribly wrong along the way. but it's still entertaining!
jurassic wolrd: 7.5/10
jurassic world fallen kingdom: 7/10

Rewatched the first How to Train Your Dragon after... I don’t even know... it’s been several years, maybe last time I watched it the full way through was 2015. And holy Thor this thing is such a masterpiece I was almost crying the full way through.
The CARE. The flipping CARE that goes into this movie. I’ve always seen the movie as impressively well-paced and structured, and my goodness, it’s one of the most brilliantly paced thing I’ve EVER seen.
The small moments. Stoick talking to Hiccup having returned from the voyage. All the awkward pauses, the built-up tension... before we realize the “dragon” Stoick’s talking about isn’t Toothless. Pacing is perfect to give us this moment of worried breathlessness with Hiccup as we think he’s been outed... then realize the communication split.
Another great small moment: Stoick kneels before Toothless in silence, believing his son is dead. The pause is the right length, long enough to give us that pain and quiet reflection of what (may have) happened in the battle. Every little pacing moment here amplifies emotions perfectly. Wow.
Length of camera angles. Character pauses. Dialogue delivery. It’s spotless.
The length of scenes. No scene in HTTYD feels too long or too short... nothing is rushed. I don’t want to use the word “leisurely” exactly, but we’re able to breathe and immerse in every moment. It’s especially amplified by the use of several scenes where there’s no music in the background, allowing us to think through dialogue... or moments where it’s instrumental alone and no words (giving us the time of bonding between Hiccup and Toothless in Forbidden Friendship, or See You Tomorrow, etc.). Whatever scene we’re looking at, whether it’s Hiccup reading the Dragon Manual, or the battle of the Red Death... scene choices are perfectly timed.
The transitions between scenes. These are brilliant and clever. There’s many instances where one line leads directly to the next. Gobber: He has this way with the beasts. Transition to: Hiccup riding on Toothless’ back. Gobber asking Stoick what his plan is to attack the dragon’s base. Next scene: Astrid asking Hiccup what his plan is to get to the dragon’s island.
And then the full scaffolding of the movie. The pacing of the whole is based on where one event is related to the other and in relation to the whole: it’s a game of mathematical proportions. When key moments are brought in, when the turning point is reached, when the hero’s low is hit, when the climax is reached - it’s important to how we experience movies, as they are a time-oriented art form. The time allotment and proportion of where key events happen to each other within the full length of this film is spotless.
And within that all is interwoven charming dialogue, memorable characters that we can comprehend in their complexity (oh goodness can we understand Stoick’s frustrations and struggle as a father, even while seeing Hiccup’s perspective as a teen going through his own difficulties), and little moments coming back through again later. Hiccup at the start saying Berk’s problems are the pests; Hiccup at the end saying Berk’s perks are the pets. One letter difference, brilliant. Hiccup at the start shutting the house door in fear of dragons attacking; Hiccup at the end shutting the house door when he first catches sight of a dragon, before realizing it’s now domesticated. Even the same dragon species - we’re that consistent. Hiccup looking at Toothless captured at the start murmuring “I did this”; Stoick looking at Toothless lying on his side after the battle’s end murmuring “I did this.” Everything is perfectly structured, logically sound, leads from one idea to the next, and even the smallest attention to details is brought around again to something meaningful.
Holy freaking fuck how do you get better than this movie.

Hello! Please could I request an imagine where it’s either platonic between Peter and the reader or them two being shipped together, and just kind of a head canon about them being the youngest avengers? Like playing on pranks on the other avengers, and even though they all get mad you see how soft they are towards the two kids? Thank you if you can:)🐝
Parker Pranks
Pairings: Peter Parker x reader
Summary: Peter and Y/N are best friends. They’re the youngest of the avengers and love to cause mischief by pulling pranks on the others.
Warnings: swearing??
A/N: Thank you so much for requesting this, Anon. I am in LOVE with his idea so it was great fun to write! I hope this was what you for hoping for and if you ever want another imagine written please let me know in my ask :D
“Morning, kid, where’s your boyfriend at?” Sam smirked as you walked into the kitchen to grab some breakfast.
“Excuse me? My what now?” you asked, extremely confused.
“You know, your boyfriend. The spider-kid,” Bucky chimed in, sipping a cup of coffee.
“Ha ha, very funny you guys,” you rolled your eyes and opened the fridge.
“So when are you gonna ask him out, huh?” Sam winked.
“Wait, you’re actually gonna ask him out?” Bucky nearly spat out his coffee in excitement.
“God no! We’re just friends. Can’t a boy and a girl be friends without the thought of a relationship?” you sighed, rolling your eyes.
At least once a week you got asked if you and Peter were in a relationship by another avenger. It was driving you mad. You needed to do something about it.
“Good morning, all,” Tony greeted as he entered the room. “Wow, Y/N, you’re up early. I thought you’d still be in bed after probably spending all night on your phone.”
“Actually, I went to sleep early last night, for your information. Not all teenagers are glued to their phones, Tony,” you chuckled.
A few seconds later, Peter entered the room, his phone inches away from his face. He didn’t even look up to say hello, just stumbled across the room and landing on a sofa.
“You were saying?” Tony quipped. “Teenagers? More like screen-agers.”
“That’s possibly the worst pun I’ve ever heard,” you stated, walking over to Peter.
“Hey,” you whispered, shaking him. “I have a plan on doing something, are you up for it?”
“Well that depends,” Peter answered. “What kind of thing?”
“Follow me.” You yanked him up and dragged up out of the room but not without a comment from Sam: “Where you off to, lovebirds?”
“Right,” you said as you finally let go of his arm when you reached a quiet room. “We should do some pranks!”
“Pranks?” Peters eyes went wide with excitement. “Who on? What for?”
“On everyone! And for fun. But, first, let’s start with Sam and Bucky,” you gave a mischievous grin.
“Okay...why them in particular?” he asked.
“They’re always making comments about us being a couple and I’m sick of it,” you answered.
“Well, in that case, of course we’ll start with them. Do you have any ideas of what we could do?”
“Oh, I have a few...”
——————————————————————————
That night you and Peter snuck into Bucky’s room. You kept as silent as possible, scared he would wake up at the sound of you breathing.
Neither of you talked but instead mimed in case he woke up. You noticed that Peter had his phone out and was filming your prank.
Great, you thought. This is going to be hilarious to rewatch over and over again.
In your hand you carried a pair of sharp, metal scissors; the plan was to cut Bucky’s hair. You moved closer to him as he slept, being careful not to touch the mattress or his face as you lifted some of his hair up.
As you began to snip the hair away, a snigger was heard from behind you. Lightly, you hit peter on the arm and motioned for him to be quiet.
You carried on cutting Bucky’s hair in a most gentle fashion, being extra careful. Occasionally he would breath more heavily than usual and you’d sit back for a second but he never did wake up.
After you’d finished cutting the left side of his head you wondered how you’d cut the other side - which he was lying on; you hadn’t thought this all the way through. But then, you thought, it would be funnier for him to wake up and have half of his hair long and the other half short.
You and Peter then left Bucky’s room quietly and made your way to Sam’s room. Luckily, Sam was a heavy sleeper so you didn’t have to be as cautious as you were with Bucky.
“You film this,” Peter insisted, passing you his phone.
This time, your plan was to stick a fake goatee and fake bushy eyebrows onto Sam with super glue.
“This is gonna be hilarious. He’s gonna freak out!” Peter exclaimed, giggling.
He began to squirt the super glue into the fake eyebrows and sticking them onto Sam. Afterwards he stuck on the goatee. After he was finished, the two of you had a laughing fit - trying not to be too loud or else you might wake him.
“Alright, let’s go prank the others.”
——————————————————————————
“BUCKY FUCKING BARNES!” came a booming voice through the compound.
Oh shit, you thought. Now is the time when everyone will discover they’ve been pranked.
You and Peter were sat in the lounge room when Sam burst in; fake eyebrows and goatee standing out from a mile away.
“Have you seen that mother fucker?” Sam sternly asked.
You and Peter couldn’t help yourselves but burst out laughing. Sam’s face got madder and madder.
“Don’t you laugh at me, kids, this stick on shit won’t come off! Now, where is he?” he demanded.
You shrugged your shoulders and seconds later Steve walked in. His shirt fitted tight against him but with two holes cut into them where his nipples were. Again, you and Peter couldn’t control your laughter.
“Hey, Sam could you keep it down a bi-oh my god what happened to you?” he chuckled.
“Me? What about you and your moobs?!” Sam argued.
Steve squinted his eyes in confusion. “My wh-” he looked down. “Hey, who ruined my shirt?! This was my favourite one...and I don’t have moobs!”
“It was Bucky, that’s what he did to me with this shit!” Sam grumbled, pointing to his face.
“Well, that explains a lot,” Steve laughed. “I was beginning to think you used some kind of weird product to help you grow hair...”
Moments later, Natasha strutted into the room with a full head of bright green hair. Everyone burst out laughing until she gave you all death stares.
“Alright, which one of you morons did this, hmm?” she interrogated, the look of murder in her eyes.
“We think that Bucky did it,” Steve answered.
“He is dead meat when I get my hands on him,” Natasha grumbled.
“Help!” came a voice from down the hall. You all peeped your heads round the corner to find a flustered Thor. “Someone has stolen my eye!”
“You’re what?” Sam asked.
“My eye!” came the God of Thunder. “You know, my fake one! I don’t want to go back to wearing an eyepatch.”
“Bucky probably stole it. He’s pranked all of us” Natasha stated.
“What?! Oh, just you wait. I will steal his metal arm and see how he likes it!”
“Hey, you guys,” a voice was heard from the other end of the corridor. As you turned, you saw Bucky walking down, rubbing his hands over his eyes, with a ridiculously hilarious hairstyle. “Could you keep it down? Some of us want a bit of peace and qu-”
“Get him!” Same shouted and tackled him to the ground. “You think it’s funny to glue fake hair onto people’s faces? Well think again, Barnes. I’m gonna make you wish your sorry ass was never-”
“Sam, wait,” Steve stopped him, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Look at Bucky’s hair. He’s been pranked too.”
“Oh god damn,” Sam sighed, getting off Bucky. “One of these days, Barnes, you watch. I’ll have an excuse to beat the crap out of you.”
“Jesus Christ, what’s going on?” Bucky shouted.
“Someone has been playing pranks on us,” Natasha told him.
“Wait, Steve, what did you say about my hair?” Bucky found the closest mirror. “Oh, my hair!” he exclaimed and looked like he was about to cry. “Who did this?”
You and Peter exchanged a look as if to say ‘oh shit’.
“Well, to me, it looks like the work of the kids,” Tony Stark’s voice was heard from behind you.
“W-whaaaaat? No way! It wasn’t us, right Peter?” you rambled.
“Y-yeah. Totally not us,” Peter agreed.
“It so obviously was, you can stop your lying,” Tony laughed.
“Oh, it was you guys, huh? Well I guess that’s just a bit of teenage fun, right?” Steve smiled.
Thor laughed along with him, “yes, I suppose so. They were very funny pranks.” He patted you both on the back. “I suppose all will be forgiven if you two would be so kind as to give me my eye back...”
“Of course, Mr Thunder,” Peter smiled, talking the eye out of his pocket.
“Hmm, now that I know it was you two I can see that it was a pretty funny prank. Nice work, kids,” Sam, surprisingly, said.
“You better not speak of my hair to anyone. Or else,” Natasha warned.
“Oh, don’t worry, Natasha, we won’t,” you laughed.
Bucky was still looking, depressingly, at his hair in the mirror.
“Buck, do you forgive Y/N and Peter?” Steve asked him.
“...yeah I do,” he murmured, sadly.
“Nice job, kids,” Tony praised. “And thanks for not pranking me. This is why you two are my favourites on the team.”
“You’re welcome, Tony,” you laughed. “But watch out in future...” you and Peter gave each other a mischievous look. “You might be next.”

Thank you so much for tagging me @youngbugandtonystank 💕
1. Favorite Irondad fanfic and why?
Oh wow. I will never get tired of irondad fic and have way too many bookmarks/favorites. But since it just finished I’m gonna rec The Lost & Forgotten by Lictraz
2. What’s your favorite ironfam moment?
In canon, Tony clearly never getting over Peter and keeping pictures of him at the lakehouse.
Otherwise, I love to picture Peter and Morgan meeting and Ironfam fighting together in the endgame fanart
3. Do you prefer uncle Rhodey or uncle Happy? It can be both
ElDoradoBoth.gif. I’m a sucker for Rhodey finding out Peter is Spiderman gif and giving Tony shit for it. Ignoring Happy’s relationship with May, Peter obviously connects with him more and it was nice to see Happy have more of a relationship with Peter in FFH and not just acting as an annoyed chauffeur.
4. What do you want to happen in SM3?
I’m terrible but I really want to see Peter at the Raft. The past 2 films have been lighthearted and fun for the most part. FFH obviously dealt with the fallout of Endgame but Peter only had that one breakdown scene with Happy. I really want to feel the drama and turmoil Peter is going through after the identity reveal. I want to see more of May being awesome and I’d love if they somehow acknowledged Pepper and Rhodey fighting for Peter.
5. Favorite RDJ movie?
MCU- Iron Man
Non MCU- Hearts and Souls
6. What’s the best-loved feature of the irondad fandom?
I’ve met so many nice and wonderful people in this fandom. We all have a lot of the same fic interests and it’s nice to be able to talk about our favorite marvel things together and they’ve all been so supportive and sweet.
7. Name three of your fav marvel movies and tell us why.
Top 3- Avengers, Homecoming, IW
The first Avengers is just amazing. I love it even more everytime I rewatch it. It was just so great to see all these characters on screen with each other.
Homecoming- I was a fan of Spiderman before but only casual. I honestly thought it was a waste to reboot it again but I was excited that it would not be a part of the MCU and seeing him in CW made me really excited for his own movie and it didn’t disappoint. Keaton was a great villain and how could you not fall in love with Tom’s Peter Parker? I know some weren’t a fan but I loved RDJ being a part of this film and seeing the growth of their relationship after CW.
Infinity War- This movie was just massive and I think it was all handled incredibly well. Everyone got their chance to shine and I loved thor/guardians, tony/guardians/strange, cap in wakanda. Plus kudos to them for ending it after the snap.
8. What makes Tony & Peter’s relationship so special for you?
I’m a sucker for found families and nothing makes it better than two characters/actors who I already loved separately.
9. List your most beloved irondad moments from each movie.
Civil War- Obviously their first meeting. How Tony had clearly been watching or having FRIDAY monitor Spiderman and had the suit ready for him way before Germany
Homecoming- “I just wanted to be like you.” “And I wanted you to be better.
IW- “Pete you gotta let go I’m gonna catch you.” That whole first scene. Tony and Peter fighting together so in sync with each other and Peter blindingly following Strange in to space because Tony told him to get the wizard.
Endgame- The Hug because you know...that’s all we got
10. Favorite Tom & Robert friendship moment?
I love their friendship so much. What comes to mind immediately is when they reunited when Spidey was out of the MCU and gave us something to smile at during that rough rough time. Its just my headcanon that RDJ saw Tom was clearly upset and and wanted to give him some advice and take his mind off the situation.

AoS Rewatch: 1x01 Pilot
Because it’s first episode I would like to start with my first impressions of main characters. I don’t remember everything what I was thinking back then but here’s what I remember :) :
Coulson - well I knew him from marvel movies and I really like him, there was something about him that made him really likable for me. I’m big fun of his smirky humor, and I just loved to see him safe and sound, and alive ;).
Ward - when I watched the pilot I never expected what’s gonna happen later in the season. I thought he’s gonna be stereotypical handsome guy who doesn’t want to be a part of a team, but in the end he’s gonna risk his life for them and care about them. (Ha ha ha jokes on me :D).
Skye - I wasn’t sure if she’s part of main cast when I first saw her but I like her from the beginning. There was something about her - how she talked so much, how she wasn’t agent and had other point of view. I was curious how her story is gonna develop.
May - I know many people knew Ming-na from other productions but I didn’t (I watched Mulan with Polish dubbing lol). But I was very intrigued by her character from the beginning, I never believed she’s gonna be just a pilot. I really wanted to know more about her.
Fitzsimmons - I’m referring to them as a unit because that’s how I felt after 1x01. I’m not gonna lie - I love them from their very first scene. I have a thing for adorable nerds, especially when they talked with British accent. And I knew they gonna kiss one day (but what I didn’t know - that I will wait 3 seasons for this :D). And because I have degree in biomedical engineering it was cool for me that they are engineer and biochemist :D.
Under the cut thoughts I had during episode when I first watched it and what I think now. And my favorite quotes and scenes :)
My thoughts when I watched Pilot for the first time:
I really liked how episode started. Skye’s voiceover was really cool ;).
I got excited when I saw Mike because I knew J. August Richard from “Angel”, I was hoping he’s gonna be in more than one episode.
Like I mention before - when I saw Ward I thought he’s gonna be stereotypical handsome tough guy
Maria Hill! Yay! Connection with Marvel Movies. Back then I was hoping for more cameos.
“Welcome to level seven” - it is one of the most epic scene ever, I was so happy to see Coulson.
When Coulson said they faked his death my first thought was “okay...I was hoping for better explanation” (well...I got it few episodes later)
I really thought Ward is gonna changed from being negative about being in a team to really being part of it...
When they mentioned Tahiti and that Coulson doesn’t know the truth - it made me really curious!
First May scene and my reaction: Drive a bus? What bus? This lady is hiding something, isn’t she?
“Melinda” - ohh I sense there is some history between those two.
My first reaction to the bus - “ohhhh it’s a nice bus”
Fitzsimmons and their amazing first scene. And my brain going “ohhhh two nerds with British accent bickering about science? And she mention Hermione? I love them!”
Lola is so cool!
Why is Ward surprised that May is just a pilot?!
I really liked all those gadgets they showed in first episode :)
During Skye’s interrogation I was wondering if she and Ward are gonna be thing, tbh I was sure they will and he will change for her. I thought it’s predictable but I was okay with it. (Ha ha once again jokes on me)
Fitzsimmons were so adorable in season one, such a smol beans.
I was so in shocked that Mike and this doctor know each other! Like...what the hell?
And the Mike attacked May :(. And Skye and this SIM card - I wasn’t sure if I should trust her.
When Coulson yelled at Fitzsimmons that they need to find a way to safe Mike - I felt this pressure.
Mike’s fall in train station looked so cool, it’s a great shot!
We had first of many Coulson’s speeches - he’s really good at this. I was really worried about Mike and if he’s gonna make it!
They saved him and it was great team work (with bumps but still).
When I heard about 084 I was very confused ;)
Lola is flying!!!!
What I think now:
I’m not gonna lie - this rewatch made me really emotional. I watched Pilot many times but this is my first rewatch since they said that season 7 is gonna be the last one. It’s so weird to see everyone so innocent and young, there is less sadness in their eyes that’s for sure. I miss times when I didn’t know that Ward is gonna betray them. Because they made great team, I liked his grumpiness and sarcastic humor. His weird relationship with Coulson or Fitz. When I watch it and know what he’s gonna do, that all of this is an act - I can’t believe he could pretend all of this so well. It’s terrifying that I didn’t expected that he could be a bad guy. When Coulson said “Nobody’s nobody, Ward” - I never really thought about this scene, but knowing what happened to him and what he’s gonna do I look at this scene differently. Other thing - Ming was so great in this episode, we don’t know anything about her but you can feel that something happened to her. And how she pretend she doesn’t want to go into field when we know she’s doing this for Fury! Who would guess how this gonna develop?
“If you want to be in the field, Agent Fitz, you have to get your hands dirty” - “No, I do not” - who would thought what’s gonna happen later? How this gonna change? Just...wow. They really played us.
And using in Coulson’s speech “The real deal -“ I think it was really fitting to use this for 100th episode title and make Mike to show up. Because this mission really was beginning of everything, of this team.
Now I think it’s funny how I thought this tv show is gonna be predictable. I usually really bad with avoiding spoilers but with AoS earlier seasons I was really good - I didn’t know what’s gonna happen and I was shocked many times. Most of my predictions from first episode didn’t come true ;).
My favorite moments and quotes:
Maria Hill: “Well, you haven’t been near his arms.” (About Thor)
Skye: “With great power comes...a ton of weird crap that you are not prepared to deal with”
May: “What are we seeing?” Fitz: “Well, the man is angry at the other man”.
Fitz: “So, when- when you get back, I’ll show you my thing. A thing. It’s not - it’s my hardware. My equipment. Let’s...hang up”.
Fitz: “Its like magic, but it’s science”.
And few screenshots of my favorite scenes :) (remember when Ward was funny?)

Here are the impressions I had rewatching 1x08 and 1x09 in a single post because I watched them back to back.
Agents of SHIELD 1x08 - The Well
“You’re telling me piloting an alien ship isn’t on you bucket list?” - I don’t think it is anymore, in retrospect... I’d love to peek in May’s bucket list, though.
Also Skye and May agreeing on Thor being dreamy in front of Coulson is hilarious.
“Yay internet, she said sarcastically” CLASSIC SKYE
Aw, remember when some parts of the fandom thought Randolph was Fitz’s dad?
Also, Peter MacNicol played my favourite character in Ally McBeal, FYI.
Ah, yes. Ward’s brothers’ story. Still don’t know what’s the truth and what’s the lie of that one. That family wasn’t really great I guess.
“My first love on this planet was Ireland” and it’s suddenly “Legally Blonde: The Musical”.
“They didn’t get the nose quite right” and it’s suddenly “Tangled”.
May using the whole staff like a QUEEN.
Oh. No. It’s May/Ward time. This is So Wrong. :/
Umm, ok, they’re not making a good job of advertising Tahiti, here.
Agents of SHIELD 1x09 - Repairs
Wow, I don’t remember this episode At All.
Wait, Roxxon!? As in Cloak & Dagger? NICE.
LOL, Ward thinks he can teach May how to be sneaky.
“I want you to pay close attention to this one, Skye. It’s an opportunity to learn how to deal with someone with newfound abilities” - This is Coulson clearly wanting Skye to follow on his footstep in SHIELD, but it reminded me of how the team dealt with Skye’s own newfound powers in season 2. It was all very different.
Wait. A particle accelerator exploding? As in “The Flash”? ... That’s not right...
AGENT DAVIS!
This subplot of FitzSimmons messing with Skye is hilarious.
OH WAIT I remember this! It’s the one with May’s prank on Fitz at the end! Classic.
Aw, we start to know more about May’s past, and the reason she’s called the Cavalry. And the fact that work colleagues tend to tell very weird couldn’t-be-further-from-the-truth stories.
OHHH YES it’s the one with the ghosts! I remember I had a weird theory during season 3 or 4 that involved something from this episode. I literally cannot remember what it was about. Um.
OH MY GOSH I GOT IT. I thought the planet Simmons sees on the holo-table was Maveth!!!
Well, my reasons were: this guy calls it “hell” and Will also calls it “hell”; it’s alien; you can reach it in different ways (Tobias via particle accelerator explosion; Will via NASA???? I can’t remember; Jemma via the Monolith), but Tobias’s particle accelerator thing made him stay trapped on Earth too.
Listen, 2016 was a weird year, hence the weird theories. Although I was pretty proud of this one. I still don’t really want to rule it out, who knows? They’ve been on Maveth like one episode and a half.
May disappearing to the ghost!!!! Amazing.
Gosh, we knew May was a badass before, but we know more about her story on this episode and it’s so cool.
"What did you say?” - “The same words you said to me in Bahrain” (”Let the girl go.”)
Such a great episode!
Thank you for reading! What did you think?

I see you saw Captain Marvel. what's your opinion on the movie? i kinda liked it, but I feel like i haven't got a strong opinion yet :/
since i don’t know how to write reviews, i’ll just… here goes.
ok so, the movie wasn’t as bad as i expected it to be, and it necessarily wasn’t as Great as i wanted it to be. i say it wasn’t as bad because i always go to a theater with the half ‘how bad can it be’ and half ‘i hope it’ll be good’ kind of an attitude. 7/10 for me. i feel like upon rewatching it i’d give it a 7,5/10.
and now hear out my logic before you go after me or something, because i can explain, okay. it’ll be messy, so i’ll just… do it in points
- music - some of it worked, some of it didn’t. i felt like the need to be 90s-like overwhelmed the directors/producers, and some of the songs weren’t put in the moment they should’ve been, or were put in a wrong way (say, Come As You Are). but it worked for the most part, no big complaints on my side.
- editing - it worked for like 90% of the movie. sometimes the editing was so quick that i couldn’t tell what was going on. but even the badly edited moments are light years ahead from the TASM movies.
- the make up was just… amazing. the fact that the skrulls looked so good makes you wonder why fox got lazy on their make up with like one fucking person. mcu literally paints like half of their characters, even wade wilson in fox looks just wonderful, and then you have raven who looks more and more like shit with every movie she appears in.skrulls looked almost breathtaking, i was really amazed by the job the make up artists did, huge kudos to them. the fact that talos expressed his emotions so well under the prosthetic was just… wow. kree looked very good, the glowing on carol look very nice, and the cgi on nick fury was just freaking groundbreaking - at some point you just couldn’t believe this guy is like 70yo in real life. when the cgi is so good you don’t even notice it, then you know that the artist reached their goal.
- i liked the world building. i understood the cosmic stuff for the most part. i knew who, why, when, and what for. the movie had a lot to say in not so much time, yet it still kinda managed to no overwhelm me with the information.
- i adored the interactions. characters were playing off each other really well. the buddy cop relationship between carol and fury was undoubtedly one of the best parts of the movie.
- the pacing was great. some of the marvel movies or movies in general really feel like they want to be 8 hours long, and this movie doesn’t have that problem. you don’t really notice the time passing, the scenes don’t drag, there’s no focusing on such bullshit like obligatory/forced hetero relationships, too long conversations, or too long action scenes, and before you know it the movie ends - that’s how you know the pacing was fine. (compare it to AMATW and how it dragged. seriously, i needed breaks while watching ant-man and the wasp. i couldn’t sit and watch this whole movie. thank god i didn’t go to the cinema for that because i’d probably annoy everyone with pee breaks every 3 minutes. but that’s an opinion, don’t @ me, we can have different opinions about different movies and still live a good life.)
- i really, really enjoyed the way the movie mixed everything. you have the kree, you have skrulls, you have humans, shield, the air force, some flashbacks, and the movie doesn’t feel like a frankenstein kind of a creature. take TASM 2 for example where it feels like you’re watching 9 different movies put in 1 movie despite the action taking place in one freaking city. i felt like it was all tied together very well in captain marvel, and i think it may be because the main character took you on the journey and showed you everything from her perspective, and it worked.
- the humor was so good. you had to get used to carol’s snarky comments or how she brushes off everything with jokes, and then some dry-like kind of humor came in, and then some real humor came in, and even if some jokes didn’t land, it still felt like that person would actually say it.
- i like the twist with mar-vell [*‘everything has to be like in the comics’ people screeching in the background*]. i like how the skrull were done - i really, really felt for the skrulls (that moment when talos rubbed his face against his wife… my eyes watered.)
- goose the cat. that’s it. he won my heart.
- and as i mentioned before - the movie also undercuts these superhero-landing tropes - we’ve seen that before, it’s not so impressive anymore, AND we’re gonna see it dialled to 11 in endgame.
- now hear me out and don’t @ me - brie larson does not have the MCU-like charisma… YET. just yet. she’s on a good ground. you know she likes that role, it shows she likes that role, she wants to play it, she wants to be that character.
mcu charisma is what i like to call the kind of a vibe that the mcu actors give off when playing their roles. you know nobody could replace tony stark, you know nobody could play steve rogers the same way evans does, you watch tom holland and forget it’s tom holland, you see a peter parker, you look at rhodes and forget there’s an actor underneath. i didn’t feel that with brie larson just yet in like 1/3 of the movie. i could see her acting, see her having fun and knowing what she’d like to do.
and i’m NOT saying it’s her fault she doesn’t have that charisma yet. i think the fault’s in the writing and the directing. carol danvers did not have enough ‘me’ screentime. again, don’t @ me, i do not criticize the acting or the actress, or the movie. it’s about how her character was written into the story. because it felt just like that - she was written into the story, instead of the story being written around her, despite her being the main character. and it was a glaring problem that wasn’t really a problem you cared about - and that was because the lines delivery was great, the movie was funny, well-paced, well-acted, the action was good, the music for the most part was good, the cgi aged well. so you didn’t really notice that lack of ‘is she the charcter yet, has she become the character yet?’ thing.
but then again, i didn’t feel for steve rogers up until the end of the movie where he crashed the ship. i didn’t feel for thor in any other movies than the avengers, ragnarok, and then endgame. i still don’t feel for sam wilson EVEN THOUGH i like the character (he certainly has more depth than black widow in one movie than she has in all the movies, and it’s the writers’ fault, not scarlett’s). i have never felt for black widow - she has no character for me. she’s better now than she was in im2, but i still don’t like her as a character, and that is because i have… nothing… to like. she’s snarky and bland for me. and it’s a shame because then you see shuri or pepper potts, or okoye, or even aunt may and you can tell they have a lot of depth despite being given not so much time on the screen. and then natasha shows up and like, ugh. *spider-man noir voice* who are you again?
some of the mcu actors hit off with the character charisma the moment they show up on the screen, some of them take their time, and it’s ok. it’s absolutely ok for brie larson to not BE carol danvers yet.
we’re yet to see her in endgame and in other movies, so i’m more than certain she she’ll become a captain marvel.
i feel like she’ll kind of have this thor complex - boring (yet carol is way way way way better in her movie that thor was in thor 1 and 2, don’t @ me, i really don’t like thor 1 & 2) in the origin movie, but wackier and ultiple times more interesting as it goes on. she also has this stephen strange complex - she needs more characterization the way doctor strange did. strange was a prodigy in almost everything he did job-wise but was disconnected with his emotional side, and i kinda feel the same for carol danvers.
she will be good, i feel it, i believe in it, give her time. even though i liked her in the movie, she still lacks some depth. that’s not to say she has no depth, no, she has a lot of it. she just hasn’t been able to show it yet.
overall, given that it was a first movie with such huge budget for those indie movie directors, i think they managed. yes, the movie is a bit scattered, and it lacks a bit of depth, but it ties into the mcu very well, it’s entertaining, the humor is good, and the action is good.
7/10. lighthearted and entertaining, even if a bit choppy. we can discuss.

Endgame of Thrones (April Picks)
Does it even matter what else I watched earlier this month because THIS WEEKEND! If every weekend was like this one I don’t know how I could function. Thankfully Game of Thrones’ Battle of Winterfell and Avengers Endgame were on two different days so my body had some time to process it all. But even preparation couldn’t get me ready for all of the action that occurred. Here come the spoilers!
Spoilers.....
Spoilers....
Spoilers...
I’m serious here they come!
GAME OF THRONES 8x03
After last week’s episode I was FEARFUL for what would come at the Battle of Winterfell. The impending battle that was foreshadowed since the beginning was inevitable and with several (if not all) of the characters reaching a full character development I grew even more worried for their safety. 8x02 had to be one of my favorite episodes of GOT so far because we had some many characters reuniting and under the same roof with these full circles being made. The top moment for me had to be when Brienne of Tarth became Ser Brienne. Then I immediately started hoping she would survive the next episode. (Thanks writers for making us not be able to just enjoy anything anymore.)
So, last night as 8x03 began I got ready for the worst, unsure if anyone would survive and after watching I have to say that I am shocked at how many people lived through it. (Which once again makes me very fearful for what lies ahead in the rest of the show. There’s no way all of them will make it, right?) Our main focus has been on the Night King and his oncoming dark night that I was SHOCKED when Arya killed him! I thought we would have to fight him for multiple episodes. Okay, I actually thought he wouldn’t have even been at Winterfell. I believed the theory he was going straight for Kings Landing which actually would have probably been the smarter move. After he was killed I sat there for a moment like: What are the next 3 episodes going to be about? Completely forgetting that Cersei exists.
But that kill! WOW ARYA! I did not see that coming. I thought Jon would have been more of a contributing factor in the Night King’s death due to him being the product of Fire and Ice, but other than getting lost on his dragon Jon basically spent the episode on the sidelines. I was so happy that Arya got to kill the Night King with one of her oldest tricks. Which of course now makes me upset for her safety. Another full character arc?
I just wish Bran looked more thankful. But then again he only wears one face now-a-days. As I’ve heard several people mention, I really do hope we learn why the Night King was so obsessed with Bran (who btw I was expecting to have more of a role in the fighting).
There’s so much I want to discuss about this episode but let’s take a moment to remember the fallen: Edd, I knew someone would die protecting Sam and it made sense to be him. Your watch has ended. Lyanna Mormont, I was so worried about her and this crushed me, but she went out like she lived: a badass. Beric Dondarrion, so many times I was like how is he still alive? But it was all for a reason as Melisandre predicted he would help Arya survive. Theon Greyjoy, the complete character arc worried me, but I didn’t think we would lose him this soon. He went out protecting Bran, in the place that was his true home and Bran said he was a good man. What is dead may never die. Jorah Mormont, earlier in the episode as he was one of the first ones on the front lines to charge I didn’t feel confident and was all the more impressed as he made it back time after time. But it all made sense as he had to protect Dany one last time. [Man, as I’m writing all of these out they are starting to become realer and I don’t think I can handle it.] And last but not least, Melisandre, who I was pretty shocked to see at the start of this episode. She came in clutch and the living would not have been able to win without her. Valar Morghulis.
As everyone predicted the crypts were not the “safest place in Winterfell” as once the Night King emerged the dead started to rise. Once again, I was pretty shocked that we didn’t have more major character deaths down here. I loved the touching scene between Tryion and Sansa as we transitioned between the battlefield and the crypt with no audio except for the music track. Very impactful.
There is so much more I can say, but these were definitely my first thoughts on the episode. I can’t believe the battle has come and gone and now we have to venture back to Kings Landing. Be safe my friends!
AVENGERS ENDGAME
Over 10 years in the making and 22 films later Avengers Endgame closed a chapter in Marvel history. Walking into the theater I was not emotionally, mentally or physically (3 hours/no bathroom break) prepared. The night before I had re-watched Infinity Wars (and just like with Game of Thrones) prayed for the safety of these heroes.
I know it was said before but SPOILERS ARE COMING!
My first thought for defeating Thanos seemed to rely on time travel, but I was surprised to see that it took 5 years in the world after the snap before traveling back to get the infinity stones. I LOVED how much of a role Antman aka Scott Lang played in this role. (Thanks to that rat for hitting the right buttons after 5 years.) This character gave us some more insight into what had been going on for that amount of time and of course brought more humor to the film. (I mean he does deliver one of the best lines that gets repeated by Cap later: “That’s America’s butt.”
Opening with the Hawkeye flashback as he has a typical afternoon with his family and then the snap happens where he loses everyone was so tragic. I was not expecting the movie to start that soon as we usually see the classic Marvel opening. The transformation in his character made so much sense and was really interesting to explore. I liked how we got to see both Hawkeye and Antman included where they were missing for the previous film.
This movie reminded me why I enjoy the MCU so much with all the references to previous films. The site of the first Avengers film: New York City 2012, brought back so many great memories and made me want to rewatch all of them. I loved how we got some exact flashbacks from the movies and then some added scenes showing more of a transition from one movie to the other. (Example: The Avengers to Winter Soldier and Captain America’s “Hail Hydra” moment in the elevator. Of course, I also enjoyed seeing Loki again as it seems that we did truly lose him.) Also seeing clips of old movies from a different angle was cool, like with Starlord singing at the start of Guardians of the Galaxy. Other time events we had never actually been to before, but were still a great trip with Steve seeing Peggy again and Tony his dad. I personally loved seeing Jarvis.
One of the biggest moments for me was when Captain America held Thor’s hammer during the final battle. It had been predicted in earlier films (particularly Age of Ultron) that he would be worthy enough to wield Mjölnir and they were right. There’s times where he’s using the hammer and the shield and then he alternates with Thor. So good!
Just as with the Night King in GOT, Thanos is defeated in this film, but it is not without loss on our side. It starts with Black Widow sacrificing herself for the soul stone. I was really hoping there was some sort of loop hole that would bring her back because of all the time travel stuff and was really shocked when Bruce Banner/Hulk said he tried but wasn’t able to get her back. I had heard rumors of Scarlett Johanssen getting her own Black Widow movie so I am a bit confused unless it is a prequel story. Either way I hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of this hero. Tony Stark’s death was one that I thought might happen going into the movie, but it did not prepare me for it actually happening. As I was talking about before with the full circle character development, Tony experienced this. He was also the kick off to the MCU, so it made even more sense for this ending. His final sentence: “I am Ironman” still gives me chills. While Captain America didn’t technically “die” and lived out his life with Peggy as he always wanted, it was also a goodbye to his character. It was great to see him pass the shield over to Sam but it will still feel a bit strange to not see Steve next film.
There’s so much more that I can continue to talk about and I know as soon as I publish this article I will probably think of something else to say, but as you can see I definitely enjoyed this movie and can’t wait to see it again in theaters.
So, I survived the weekend! I hope you did too. Let me know how you feel about all of this!

you saw endgame! please share with the class! assemble!
haha, okay, well–here’s some thoughts, since we’re far enough out that I don’t think this will be too spoilery for people – but it’s gonna be super long, so it’s under a cut, either way:
Well, it was–spectacular! In that it was literally a spectacle, for one thing. I had pretty lowered expectations after not particularly enjoying Captain Marvel (it was fine, but boring) or Infinity War for that matter (better-made, but the stakes were obviously nonexistent because we knew something was going to be done). Here, though… I just really, thoroughly enjoyed it. It was thoughtfully done, well-executed, and just as a moment of payoff for those of us who have been here all ten years… It was just really something. I saw Iron Man on opening weekend in 2008 and fell in love, and even if I haven’t loved every single movie since then, I feel like Marvel just sent me a love letter, and I was so–glad. What a good movie-going experience it was.
I say all that having seen SO MUCH rending of garments and gnashing of teeth from the !stans and shippers, but all of that’s so very much missing the point. This is the story of *this series*, this great arc that led to this point. The thing to remember is that the MCU is fanfiction itself–it’s based off of characters who are based off of characters from a canon that’s been rebooted and re-blended about a billion times. This is the story this group of fic-writers, essentially, chose to tell, and I think they did it pretty damn well. You can write your own fic where Steve weeps into Bucky’s hair for 70 years if you want to. This story isn’t that, and that’s okay. (Genuinely, if fandomites could take like half a step back they’d be much happier people. I know it’s hard–I’ve been in a process of letting go with SPN that I haven’t really managed to do well–but c’mon. Don’t get so het up about it.)
Some things:
1) I was genuinely impressed with the time travel mechanism, especially as it bounced meta-ly off of other examples we’ve seen in pop culture. Finally, a story that allows ACTUAL alternate-universe time travel instead of boring-ass time loops. I’ve always thought it was spectacularly dumb when the worry is “but if I kill myself in the past, I’ll die now!” Nope! Avoided! Thank you, folks. It’s kind of weirding me out that so many people online seem confused about how the time travel worked, but it was incredibly clean and I just want to high five the people involved. The one thing that seemed like a plot hole was Old Steve at the end, with the implication that he was co-existent in this timeline for 70 years (and did nothing about Hydra??)–but then the Russos said that they assume he went to an alternate timeline, and then came back to this one to give Sam the shield. It wasn’t on screen either way so you can make your own headcanon, but I’m good with that. So: successful time travel. Hoo-fucking-rah.
2) Thor. This was the one real spoiler I had going in, that Thor Got Fat. All this weeping about how he’d been mistreated by the narrative. So, I was pre-emptively worried… and then ended up not thinking it was that bad. Look, I’m a chubster, I’m well-aware of how sensitive that can be for people. What I found interesting about it was that it was, yes, kind of a visual joke, just because The God of Abs was a pudge, but it was actually treated remarkably kindly by every character for whom that would be in-character. Meaning, sure, Rocket makes fun of him, and Rhodey’s kind of a dick (because Rhodey’s like that with Tony, even)–but Bruce, Steve, and even Tony all deal with him quite gently. That scene where he tries to volunteer for the gauntlet and Tony carefully holds him back was so sweet and sad. Poor guy. It was a good exploration of the depths that the last ~10 years of his life have pummeled him into. It wasn’t that he was fat, it’s that he was broken. People will make up their own minds about the equivalencies there and what’s being implied, but it was a good visual metaphor as far as I was concerned. If he were “just” a sad drunk no one would have believed that he wasn’t ready for what was coming, and he wasn’t. But he got better, because his friends really were there for him. (Also, Korg was wearing Taika’s pineapple shirt! I hope there are nice fics where Korg and Maik gently just play XBox with Thor because that’s all they can do for him.)
Also on Thor, re: Thor/Loki – more rending of garments about how he didn’t go see Loki. Let’s think about this: you’re on a top-secret time mission to save the universe (Time Heist!), and you go see your trickster god little brother who, yes, you miss, but who also hates you at this point in his life. That’ll go well. I completely understand why there wasn’t a scene. The scene with Frigga was all I needed there.
3) Steeb: I’ve never been the… biggest fan of Steve. I mean, he’s fine. His character is caught awkwardly between the man, Steve Rogers, who abhors bullies and will break rules to do what’s right, and between The Man, Captain America, who kinda Is Rules and needs to do what’s right but also represents an idea greater than himself. There’s a lot of wonderful tension there, but the movies haven’t particularly capitalized on it, and when they’ve tried it’s been in a lip-servicey way.
That said, this movie deals with it really, really well, I think. At the beginning he’s trying to live, and isn’t doing a great job of it. The plan they come up with is simple, perfect heroism – he’s not representing an Ideal, but he is one: he’s the man and the ideal simultaneously, that striving toward right will eventually create a more just, fairer world. If sacrifice is required he’s willing to make it. That scene of him standing alone against the massed forces of Thanos with his broken shield strapped tight to his arm is like a distillation of who Captain America should be. I’m so glad we got that, at the end.
As someone who doesn’t invest in Steve/Bucky but who completely understands it, I also see no issue with the thing where he goes back to Peggy. Bucky understands, too. That moment where they hug and he tells Steve, so-softly, “I’ll miss you,” oh man, oof. Bucky knows. I hope there’s a lot of pining!Bucky in that fandom, y’all are missing out on a STELLAR opportunity if not. Especially pining!Bucky where Steve knows and can only do his best to be Bucky’s friend. Steve going back isn’t out of character, either, despite the clamoring. He misses Peggy, he misses peace. Who knows what they got up to in that alternate timeline–maybe he and Peg went and routed Hydra early, maybe they saved Bucky, maybe they had a WWThreesome with Buck, whatever. But Natasha and Tony both told Steve to “get a life,” and he finally got to. He’d done enough. He earned it.
4) OH MY GOD, NATASHA. What a character arc. I friggin’ adore the mirroring of her and Clint’s stories. The brutal assassin who gained a family and learned what it meant to love something so much she wanted to sacrifice herself for it–those scenes on Vormire were heartbreaking. I’m also super glad that the movie paused, after that. Someone called her death “fridging” – wow. No. She was a hero, as much as Tony was. Whatever it takes.
5) Tony. Holy shit. In a lot of ways this was his movie–in a more meta way, it was RDJ’s movie, and Favreau’s, and Feige’s. It all started with Iron Man, and that’s where it ended. There wasn’t a stinger scene because we got that funeral and then the moment in the credits with the originals signing the screen, and of course they saved Robert for last. The success of this movie is really a testament to the risk everyone took, way back then. It sure as hell paid off.
“You wouldn’t lay down on a grenade to save your men,” Steve said. How many different ways can Tony prove him wrong? At least once more. ;-; I’m just super emotional about the whole thing. So many good moments all leading up to what happened. Little Morgan in his helmet, Pepper’s faith. Steve’s faith, for that matter. (I still have a tiny pocket of my heart reserved for Steve/Tony, no matter how non-canon it is. What a great relationship they have.) The panic and misery when Carol brought them back, calling Steve a liar, and Steve just–gentle with him, again, and how there was no anger there anymore. Argh.
That’s the thing that I think I appreciated about the movie most, in the end. Despite all the craziness, the spectacle, the easter eggs slinging at you left and right (”Hail Hydra.” !!!!!!!!!!!!!), what I loved most is that in the face of this ultimate goal, this literally universe-saving moment, the stakes were actually felt because the characters (and actors, and script) sold how unimaginably important it was. Interpersonal bickering fell by the wayside; any dumb conflicts just washed away. No drama for its own sake, or manufactured arguments. Just–working together. The Avengers we hoped to get in the aftermath of the first team movie. We got ‘em, finally, even if we lost a lot too.
This all sounds super elegiac, I guess. It sort of is. It wasn’t a perfect movie by any means, but it might be perfect for what it meant to do, and what it set out to do. There were a couple of little nitpicky things that I might change, but they’re so small so as not even to be mentioned. And so many more tiny moments that I loved, loved, loved. It’s the first one of these movies that I’ve wanted to rewatch in literal years, and that’s making me really happy all on its own. I’m just left with this utter… satisfaction. Not sad, just happy that they made it worth my while.
Put another way: when I was leaving Shazam I felt like I’d spent about 4 hours wasting my time. When I was leaving Endgame, I felt like it had been an instant. Just yay, all ‘round. I loved it three thousand.
What did you think?
#ombrecoeur#avengers#endgame spoilers#...i have a sneaking feeling i could get hate for this#pls note that the views above are the sole property of etc etc#i just really liked it is all#just a lot#i keep thinking about it#keep thinking about little moments that were great#and if that isn't a satisfying movie experience idk what is

Haven’t watched the first Thor since it came out and it’s so weird watching it again after so long and seeing how much the characters have developed. Like, wow Thor was so much more arrogant I had literally forgotten. I was actually cringing at his behavior in the beginning (still love him but you know what I mean). Also, wow, Loki looked so young in the first movie he looks like a baby. . . I’m rambling but anyways, Thor’s development to the end of end game is imo great, I’m really glad I decided to go back and rewatch the first movies.
