#I went to a brewery with some friends this evening#And as I was getting ready I found myself suddenly remembering an outing from a wintry college evening many years ago#There was a bar on a quiet street near campus that served beer towers (100oz glass tanks that you could split with a group)#And they’d add orange slices if you ordered Blue Moon‚ which felt very sophisticated to cornedbeefhashtwink and his Hollister flannels#Later that night‚ a woman who had left the bar earlier marched back inside and sidled up to my table clutching a slip of paper#Unbeknownst to me‚ she had been sitting with a young man who had spent the evening shyly watching me sip my Blue Moon#And she had his name and phone number in hand#This was bewildering on several levels#I had never actually seen this guy‚ so I had no idea who was hitting on me#And if I was unprepared to be hit on‚ I was even less prepared to be hit on by proxy#More importantly… I was fully closeted at that point in my life#And a stranger had just materialized out of thin air to make a Gay Announcement#I accepted the paper with a rising sense of flattered panic‚ doing my best to casually play the whole thing off#And then I went straight home and Googled#He was very cute‚ as it turned out#I was in no position to reach out to him (and he was from out of state anyway)‚ but that slip of paper felt like a lifeline#And I’m just feeling very tender thinking about it right now#Almost a decade and a half later#I wonder if he remembers putting his friend up to leaving his number all those years ago whenever he sees an orange slice floating in beer

happy decade anniversary to the first time I got depressed!!!!!! 🍾 🎉 🥳 🎊
#idk why i genuinely feel the need to celebrate but anyway#also i remember i got depressed bc 6 sep 2013 was when i got into music and my life changed and it was really fun and cool and good#and then 6 sep 2014 it was like. oh that was a year ago. i've been Alive alive for a year. time. wow. the passage of time. wow.#also the day before i was singing random stuff at school and my friend was like 'you're always so happy all the time' and i was like yeah#and then i thought about it like. am i??? am i actually happy?#also it was the day before the anniversary of keith moon's death and i fancied him when i was 14 so#also it wasn't the 60s and i wanted it to be the 60s so that contributed as well#many many factors. and then 14yo me had an existential crisis about time and everything 👍#and since then me and the depression and the time crisis and the constant need for a hyperfixation have been in some sort of toxic polycule#and who would i be without them <3#this isn't sarcastic btw i am genuinely celebrating the depression for some reason#idk why but i must romanticise not only the good but also the very bad or things will start to go to my head again#ramble#anniversary ramble

A couple weeks ago, on 4/22/23, I purchased my dream car - a Jeep Grand Cherokee!! This has been my dream car for the last 6 years and I have been waiting for this moment for so long! As a new chapter of my life is about to begin as a veterinarian, I felt it was time to gratefully say goodbye to my Honda which carried me through the entire veterinary school journey, from applying to vet school all the way through all 4 years as a vet student. But with graduation right around the corner, I decided it was time to upgrade to a 4x4 and treat myself to the car of my dreams! Welcome to the vet journey, Cocoa (short for Chocolate Chip)! 🤎

I'm rewatching the series of unfortunate events show, and I remembered this song from my childhood, so I had to go look it up, and yes it's still a bop!
#a series of unfortunate events#in the reptile room#so many moons ago when i was in elementary school i had to do book reports#i hated those and tbh i think book reports made me hate reading but thats a rant for another day#any way i was enjoying the series of unfortunate event book but I wasnt a fast reader#in other words i was not fast enough to finish a book in time to get a book report done#so my mom suggested i get the audio books#and so i ended up listening and reading along to the audio books to these books starting from 1 or 2 till id say book 7 or 8#i kind of dropped of the series by then and like i said before the book reporting kind of killed the enjoyment of the books#and i think for sure the last few i was just mindlessly listening and throwing together a report#back to my point at the start of the audio books their was a song a different one for each book#and this one obviously was for the reptile room#but i remember that hearing the new songs became something I was looking forward too#another hint maybe i wasnt as engaged with the story as i thought i was#but i would restart the audio book over and over just to hear this song#and years later i remember it and its still a bop#my post#my music#Youtube
