Hi I want to say I love your discussion about Ganymede and Hyacinthus. Like you said it is really important to know that their age was not the same in every version. For example I don't think Ganymede had a beard anywhere but in paintings he was shown to be as tall as Zeus and his body well developed. So he is not a young child there. I also want to say that in Sparta Hyacinthus was bearded and he and Apollo had a festival together. In some ancient paintings also he was having a little bit of beard. So there are different versions.
But I think main reason why people love Hyacinthus story is because Hyacinthus choose Apollo, but Ganymede was kidnapped. Also, Apollo himself was imagined as a youth of the same age as Hyacinthus, so they represent teenagers who fall in love. But Zeus and Ganymede the image was adult man loving teenage boy. So maybe that's why so many people hate this ship. But if you apply ages to gods, then Apollo is also much older than Hyacinthus.
But I think Ganymedes story is a great story. I love how dear he was to Zeus.
So I think all interpretations are correct there's nothing wrong with showing Ganymede older and ship him with Zeus.
Hello!
Yeah! We always need to remember too that the narrative about younger boys with older man is a Athenian addition. They were the ones that write most myths we found easily and they changed some to apply their standarts (example: the acceptable homorelationship for them or more myths with male protagonists). So the narrative with pederasty is almost exclusive from Athenians sourse. As the most misoginistc takes too, different from Sparta where women were more respected (also they could workout and that is one of the reasons for the spartan women to be one of the most beautiful)... Myths adapt to the location and culture.
I also think people is really obecess with the 'original version', the 'true'.... when there is none of that... It will be so much easy if just let the imagination fly and stop applying our modern view on the real metaphors the ancient people try to tell us... like, most myths is just about death... Ganymedes included!
Anyway, thanks and I will do what I think its good for the story u.u hope people like, and if dont, its totally fine.

yk when i think about it, especially when im watching the anime with people who havent read the manga, the reason a lot of people who only watch the anime and didnt read the manga misinterpreted saikis character so badly is definitely in part because of how damn fast paced the anime is 😭
like that little smile and eye shine frame is there for not even half a second in the anime, so its easier to miss it and assume that he really did only finish those workbooks to get coffee jelly ☠️ its much more clear if you get a good look at how he reacts here that hes just a silly little tsundere and a fucking liar

Are you slowly going insane over your OWN ocs?
No, I've been infected by brainworms the entire time. Nothing slow about it.
But honestly, no... It's not really about my characters to me. I love my characters, of course, and I love telling stories, and I hope to keep making art of my characters every day until I die.
But it's not about them! They're not REALLY what I love, what I love is people! And I hope I can leave the world with a hundred different love letters so my readers can feel how much I love them for even one day longer than I am here.
My characters are a conduit through which I can give that to people. I want nothing more than to make someone feel a little more loved, a little more seen, and a little less alone. And my characters are the best way I know how to do that.
So for that, they're incredibly important to me... But they're not for me. They're for you!
So I hope you enjoy them
and I hope you can feel that I love you through them.

That moment where you see someone talk about their otherhearted-ness after just a long while of not seeing someone do so and you get so happy because, holy shit, this is such an important topic to me , I want to see what the other person who is otherhearted like me has to say
And it's just "this isn't rlly important or significant".
Ouch.

i saw ur post about young people getting into palia and it made me think because i've definitely seen a big shift in the official discord and also even ao3 (both through comments and fics released). it's pretty interesting seeing the community shift like this in real time (i've been playing since about august 2023)
oh i didn't even think about that! i've never been In the discord or any other ones so i haven't Seen that specific shift. but i know at the very least that it seemed very helpful and chill before. there was probably some drama but it always seemed like most people were just focused on sharing their tips, asking for help, talking about favorite characters, making suggestions for the devs, etc. it's interesting know that the discord vibe has also changed
can you tell me how it's changed? like has it changed in a similar way to the server chat with people being more rude/aggressive/immediately negative?

I have a question, but it may be already have been answered in the story (my brain is just not the best with memory).
Since vampirism symbolises for you chronical illness (which, omg, that is a hot take I've never thought off before and love from now on), does Steve count as chronical ill, too, with the whole halfvampire thing going on? So, would his uncontrollable time jumping each month be a symptom of that chronical illness?
not in the story, no worries! Just a possible interpretation and my personal intent when writing.
As a small aside I personally don't like to think of chronic illness as something that people "count" as, so to speak, it's an extremely personal label and incredibly varied between individuals and as with all disability there is never such thing as hard lines or black and white... but I understand why you worded it that way and I understand what you're asking.
So, yes, Steve is also chronically ill within this framework. The entire comic is sort of shaped around this, to be honest! I mean he canonically has some pretty extreme memory issues... He's also canonically homeless (not that this is an illness but I just mean it's something I think most people forget about him when discussing him). And, yes, his condition is uncontrollable and is severely impacting his ability to live the life he wants to live.
He has just been barely coping up to the point we meet him, and has been very desperate which is what led him to creating that list of deviations. He has periods where his body is out of his control, he is unable to form relationships, he hurts others without meaning or wanting to... Yeah. He's metaphorically relating to a lot of things, really.
So, yknow, you're welcome to interpret him as you'd like! for me I relate a lot with my various issues and conditions and thus that's why I've projected on him the way I have, but of course I would understand entirely different interpretations of what is inherently metaphorical.
