#terranigma#terranigma ark#terranigma elle#terranigma meilin#art tag#im going to write a little review in the tags bear with me#first the negative:#the magic system is weird to use and basically useless apart from one boss thats almost impossible without magic#it has some weird racism like most old games where you travel around the world. a little more egregious since its supposed to be real earth#i found the main character to be slightly insufferable for about 3/4ths of the game. i came around on him by the end tho. he grows up a lot#and i found whats by far the largest section of the game (chapter 3) to be the least interesting#im not really into helping cities develop and trade quests tho so it might just be me#oh also it is STUPID easy to permanently lock yourself out of like 15 sidequests#and theres a lot of mandatory things that are really hard to figure out. you need to use a walkthrough for this#anyway thats what i didnt like#what i DID like tho. i dont want to get into too much detail but#its a genuinely beautiful game for so much of it#there were so many moments that left me speechless#its high-concept and thoughtful and fun to play#you dont really need to do much grinding either#at its worst its obtuse and cliche but at its best its breathtaking#and i really recommend more people check it out#special shoutout to my friend seona who modded my 3DS and downloaded a bunch of roms including this one#so in conclusion. terranigma is an underrated gem. play it if youre a 90s jrpg junkie like me#just have a walkthrough open also lol

#there’s a threshold I think of what I accept in comments about characters#and their actions or about who is in the wrong or what should happen#because I do like reading people’s opinions#and sometimes when someone is like I didn’t like obi-wan in this fic#I’m like makes sense! maybe you weren’t supposed to or maybe the argument they had was supposed to not be clear cut on who is right#because arguments in real life don’t always have a clear cut winner or morally superior person lmao#I’m ok with that I’m ok with comments saying boo this character is annoying#because sometimes they just are (eg the amount of people who just don’t like obiwan in pbatmb like?? yeah of course he’s not gonna be nice#but I digress lol#anyway but there’s a threshold of when comments about not liking a character go too far and you’re just like.#saying mean things about the writing itself and that’s not something lm gonna allow to be normalized#no matter the intention behind it#you do not type a comment like this knowing it wil be send to an author#who will get an email notification about a comment#click on it and go oooo long comment :D and then go oh.#you don’t do that it’s rude it’s being a jerk#I’ve been here for like 3 almost 4 years I feel ancient in this fandom sometimes#and I’ve gotten so much feedback on my work through that time and so many nice comments and community#but mean comments can really hurt especially new writers#and they can make people who maybe would write fic for a fandom decide to not#like this isn’t even that mean I can almost see the writer just wanting to say how they feel#but sometimes you do not have to 🙏#also I just think this understanding of the characterizations in the fic and probably their understanding of the characters in the films#is a wee bit trash but that’s for me to say in the long tags of my own blog post and not for me to comment on their fics for the fandom#(they don’t have any but I did check because 3am kit felt nosy)

Finally put this years' ribbon crops up with last year's, technically our last shows are this weekend but mentally I think we're both done for the season and doubt she'll place. Still can't believe she grabbed a CC at a specialty show with 85 entries tho
#need a better way for this#the reds dont mean much (i just collect one from each club lol) so thinking maybe double row and putting them behind#ribbon displays are ugly as sin by default but 🤷 i spent too many years dreaming of having a dog to show to not#have them on the living room wall#we have one more judge we could go for but#shes got nothing left to compete for#not even unofficial breed club things. got the Excellent plaque last year and theres a Ch Quality plaque we could hunt for but she#only got one so far this year and needs 4#so its not really worth going#next year is looking pretty dry. i want to do the two breed specials within reach. we should be trying to get the grand CC but#the one single NKK show in western norway was cancelled for '25 and the others are 7+hrs away#and shes not really an allround judge type of dog 🤷

*starts to make a post about my latest crisis like three times*
#it's uh. it's interesting times here#i am really out here choosing between my comfort zone#or spending over 300 dollars to go to a homeschool conference to sell some copies of my book#most of the money would be spent on author copies of my book#and like. i prayed and i was pretty sure buying 50 of them was the right way to go#AND YET. IT WOULD COST TWO FREAKING HUNDRED DOLLARS#well 269. let's be precise here#and i have to pay for a table at the book sale too and the time window is closing#i did randomly get a surprising amount of money from two people for christmas#and that would cover roughly half of it#but like. this is really stepping out in faith. close to as much as when i quit my job for this#i could make it all back all i have to do is sell those books. not even all of them just most of them.#BUT WHAT IF I CAN'T#i'm an introvert okay. or introvert adjacent. i don't have the confidence that my dad or my siblings would have for this#especially not when there's 300 dollars at stake and just. ugh#i definitely should not be putting all my faith in money or my own abilities#in fact what i should be doing is saying 'okay God if this is what you want then show up'#but oh sky above it is very scary#so if you made it this far. pray for me? that God will show me the right thing to do and i'll follow the path He has for me#even though it's extremely scary#hazel rambles about her original writing

i actually am a defender of georgie and melanie and basira being mean or rude to jon bc that man really needed to be put in his place sometimes. like i understand that they were also wrong sometimes— basira is hypocritical and the other two could be nastier than necessary, but i literally cannot blame them at all. jon was so out of line sometimes
