Can we get the full long depths of lore and history about CC and HC. And whatever code rule list they've had, it could be myths, rumors, culture, ceremony, etc please.?

CC technically isn't my "clan" to decide the lore on! I add cats for filler, but that's about it :p

I can give you HC's stuff though, and more general, both-clan stuff.

lore

HaarClan's beginning is kind of messy, as in, i haven't figured it out yet, but my concept is that it was originally founded by someone unrelated from the "Corvidkin" bloodline, but something happened to change that.

So far the leaderships passed from Lidthstar, to Choughstar, to Slyfir (briefly, because his wife had been forcefully demoted from leadership due to the Clan being unhappy with her leadership), Crowstar, and then Jaystar.

Jaystar was very strongly anti-outsider and anti-cascadeclan, and he didn't want them around in any aspect, leading to the conclusion that his clan's safety could be promised if they just got rid of the opposing clan first. He waged war for a good six or so years, before being killed by a CascadeClan cat!

The war continued with his daughter Stellerstar, who was about as hungry as her father; Stellerstar's daughter Jackdawswoop put an end to this and killed Stellerstar alone, wanting "one death to stop many, many more". Or something like that.

culture

Culture for both the clan's says that the firstborn child of the leader must succeed them as leader, except in the case of death or other obstruction. In HaarClan particularly the leader will mentor their heir, with any other children mentored by their mate or close family (such as a aunt/uncle or the deputy.)

^the deputy is mainly just who assigns patrols and such, with most political business delegated to the leader and her mate.

cats are mentored from six moons until anywhere from 1y2m to 1y5m. Warrior names are typically lyrically over anything else, although around Crowstar's time and before there was more of a preference to traditional. Sometimes names may have prefixes changed in ceremonies. (I.E, Stormpaw becoming Perfectstorm, or Vinepaw becoming Creepingvine.)

Legacy naming is extremely common in HaarClan. Names as a whole, are, since they're a main definer of character.

-having a mate (or mates) is very important, and legally binding in a sense. There can be whole ceremonies involved especially depending on social status.

-cats retire whenever they're ready. it generally happens anywhere from 10+ years onwards.

-in haarclan they've recently been developing a form of sign language called ppfaruw (full body signing) and pawspeak (gesturing with limbs). this has been ongoing for abouttt the past ten years or so, with the birth of a white-fur blue-eyed deaf shecat named blizzardwing.

originally during the war, this had been used for mainly silent communication, but now it's obsolete in that purpose. still mandatory teaching to all apprentices.

-haarclan wakes up at sunhigh and goes to sleep around sunset. they work very hard during these few hours, although to make up for missing work haarclan has a "day of work" a few days after a gathering, where they wake at dawn and work until moonhigh, taking a break at sunset to eat.

-haarclan as a whole is pretty religious, especially the royals.

-another custom is apprentices will take a mid-termish assessment near the end of their ninth moon, overseen by the deputy or a royal to judge if they're ready to continue on to the second, more difficult portion of their apprenticeship.

-another little part of religion is some cats believing in legends associating specific stars and constellations. one example is the great sea serpent, originating from cascadeclan history, although more "wild" myths aren't the most beloved.

more common ones are those about cats, like littlemoon and pearwhisker, two shecats from different clans (with littlemoon being a healer.) starclan had told littlemoon to not let love distract her, and when she didn't listen they killed her with a strike of lightning.

both clans also LOVE theatre and stories. a big one is addertongue's story.... it's just hamilton.

rumors/opinions

-cascadeclan generally sees HC as barbaric.

-haarclan generally sees cascadeclan as pretentious.

-suspicious happenings have been going on recently. a warrior from haarclan named grizzlygrowl disappeared on his vigil four moons ago, and a dead kittypet had been found only just a moon ago, mauled.

-recently, a lot of cats have been seeming a bit more anti-monarchy. in haarclan, tamaracktail, ivorygaze, sleekstalk, yewshadow, and mereshadow are mainly trouble. from cascadeclan we've got hornetfury, elkpaw, and shattershore.

A Personal Post

Hi guys, I'm finally making the post I kept telling myself and my best friends I'd make but wanted to put it off until I felt better. That hasn't happened and with how things are going I thought it was best to just post it now.

So for a while, since probably late 2023, I've felt less like my blog is for me, and more like it's some kind of fandom archive. Which, if you use it this way as-is, great! I'm glad my blog could make you happy like that! But that's not what I set out for it to be.

I'm the sort of neurodivergent person who likes to categorize things, including my interests. All my tumblr blogs are specific to one thing, and this one was no exception.

I began tagging things soon after I made the blog because I saw a lot of people were sad about the twins, and I thought "well since I love both sad and happy stuff, and I'm really good about categorizing things, maybe I can try and help!" And according to many, it did help!

But I think that also gave off the impression that I was making this blog for other folks, and that isn't the case. I'm sorry I never clarified. It's not an archive; I do not reblog shipping posts, posts from people I've blocked, AUs I don't click with, and sometimes just not everything I see.

I've gotten popular in the fandom, and for the most part I do, from the bottom of my heart, enjoy it. I have people who care about my hyperfixation! That's amazing! I have people who love my cosplay and want to meet up with me. I've made so many friends of all shapes and sizes and it's probably the most incredible thing I've ever experienced, truth be told.

But yeah my blog being mine has gotten away from me a bit, I think.

I want to keep tagging my submas tags, that isn't going to change. I will tag triggers when asked, unless it's kind of impossible due to the blog's subject (trains, for instance) or a name or really common word (like the word 'head' or something). Other than that please reach out and I'll do my best to remember. But other tags? Those will be up to me. I don't want to tag when OCs show up. I love OCs and like seeing them, and don't want to have to remember that one person who visits my blog doesn't.

I had anon off for a while because honestly ever since making this blog, there have been anons who really made me unhappy. (Also yes, non-anons but that's been fewer and far between). I've gotten misinformation, accusations, horrible and disgusting explicit asks, and criticisms and complaints, and I'm just... Not here for that. Keep the explicit things and misinfo out of my inbox, I am no arbiter of morality or personal decisions, and I am not here for you to share your negative opinions of submas or the fandom.

Anon is on for people who are too self conscious to chat face to face, for people to send fun headcanon ideas (remember when people did that back in 2022 when this blog started? I miss that, it was sweet and wholesome), to share song recommendations... That kind of stuff. If you have an actual problem, please, PLEASE talk to me off anon, whether that be DMs or a non-anon ask that I can answer privately. Especially if we're friends; please, please just talk to me about stuff. I don't bite! I swear!

But yeah the bottom line is I'm here to participate in fun (and sometimes heartbreaking!) fandom stuff. I'm here for FUN, not as my job. I know that we're all a bunch of neurodivergent folks and sometimes interactions can be a swing and a miss, but please try to be mindful. Please treat me like a person and not just like a museum curator for this blog.

Truth is, I haven't been okay for a while now. It's gotten worse this year for sure, and due to life stuff I cannot see things feeling better for me for some time. I need to go day by day for a lot of things, and I am trying to get better about needing to set boundaries and all that sort of thing. I suffer from intense paranoia too, and having so many eyes on me is genuinely terrifying at times. I'm trying to manage that as best I can, but I do ask that folks be kind.

NO I am not going anywhere, my blog is staying and will continue on as normal, but I really, really needed to get this posted.

I'm also kind of in the boat of not especially liking or reading oc centered fics, I think making Ichigo was a bit easier for me than it would have been otherwise bc I really went into it treating her like a plot divice. Still am tbh. I love Ichigo but the story isn't there for her, it's there bc of her. I needed someone to stir shit up and bring up some very specific topics and issues, so she became that. And I fell a little in love with her character along the way

Inevitable tbh, it's probably impossible to write a character that much without finding or molding them into something you can like writing

Kakashi absoloutley deserves to be harassed by tiny children, and now he can't escape bc Ichigo is in his fucking house!! She's gonna bring back more (even tinier) children to harass him, starting with Naruto. He will never know peace.

Anyways spoilers for the eventually Obito introduction in the fic, take a snippet for his introduction (it's liable to change tho, we won't be seeing Obito for a while in the fic)

"I . . . am Madara Uchiha."

Ichigo opened her mouth. Closed it. Opened it again.

Finally, in her flattest voice, she went, "No you're not."

The imposter paused, then shook his head and gave a sinister chuckle. It was a decent enough imitation but she'd seen Hashirama give a better Madara impression.

While drunk.

"I understand it's hard for you to believe, but the stories of my death were greatly exaggerated."

Ichigo aimed her best impression of Ojisan's unimpressed face at him. Lip curled in distaste and head tilted to stare down at him like he was a bug.

He twitched. It was a pretty good impression. (Better than his Madara one, anyways)

"No, you're not."

"Yes, I am."

"No. You're really not."

"Yes, I really am."

They stared at eachother, locked in stalemate, till she smirked.

"Ok sure, you're Madara-sama. What's my name then?"

"Um."

"Come on, Dara-chan," she batted her eyes at him innocently. "I'm sure you can remember."

He seemed to regain control of myself, straightening up and giving another echo of what might have been Madara's laugh. If he was a crazy cave hermit who'd decided to inject a gallon of cringe fail evil villain juice into his laughter, anyways.

"Come now, Ichigo, I know it's hard to believe but it really is me."

"Ha!" She shoved her hand towards him, pointing triumphantly. "My real name is Hatake Miko! I gave them a fake when I got here, and if you were the real Madara-sama you'd know that!"

"O-of course, Miko-chan, I was just testing you. I had to be sure you were the real Miko I remembered, after all."

"No, I lied I really am Ichigo." She deadpanned, giving him a little peace sign.

He staggered under some invisible weight, making a noise like a popped balloon.

"I don't usually kill children, but . . ." He mumbled to himself, and she scoffed.

"You don't even have his hair." She squinted at him, feeling insulted om Madara's behalf. "You're pretending to be Madara with hair like that? Have some standards.

So hey fun fact I've been having a Pressure brainrot maybe hyperfixation idk for like a few weeks now and! After Love Letter is finished, I plan on writing a oneshot of Shuichi, Kaede and Kokichi doing a Pressure round. It'd be the first crossover fic I'd be posting publically but by posting things publically it gives me an obligation to finish it which I find extremely joyful so I reeeally really reaaally wanna write this (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠) it'd also be my first oneshot so. :P i mean come on I have the power as an author to make Kaede fist fight a wall dweller and I will be DAMNED if I don't take that chance /j

Also... Yeah. I've picked up on that (⁠个⁠_⁠个⁠) I'm not quite sure how it happened, but I'm glad it did. I've got to meet a lot of really cool people, and I've made a really really good friend from it too (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠) I've never been active in a fandom like this before, so this is really good experience for me in gaining more confidence in myself and getting used to talking to people. AND It's been letting me improve on my self-discipline and responsibility, which is something I'd struggle with a lot ^^"

Seeing everyone create things based on what I have done-- sharing memes and art, assigning music to my stories-- has been an experience like no other. As a bonus, it's all with my favorite characters from a game that I absolutely adore (even with it's fuckin christmas list of issues lmao)!! I'm so grateful for everyone who has given me support or put their own time into things I've made. It has genuinely made such a huge difference in my life and I cannot describe how thankful I am for that (⁠ ⁠◜⁠‿⁠◝⁠ ⁠)⁠♡

I have no plans to stop writing. I have a lot of plans for future fics (that I have to grit my teeth and write one at a time or else none of them will ever be finished ಥ⁠╭⁠╮⁠ಥ) and I'm excited to share them, even if they are extremely different from what I've previously written. So far I've been sticking to the Ultimate Academy, but I want to try to spread out a bit ^^ We'll see what happens I suppose

it's almost new years and you guys have been there for me so much during this year so tonight I do want to make a post trying to recognize a lot of people within the community. My head is pretty fuzzy right now so I fear I'm gonna forget some folks, in which case I'm honestly genuinely very sorry, but know that so many of you have touched my life in a positive way. Since I wasn't fully around on Thanksgiving either, consider this my chance of telling you all that I'm thankful for you too.

Some of you may not see this. Either because you don't follow this blog or you've been offline for a while. But I hope even if you don't see this post you still are able to understand my feelings towards you.

At the moment I would prefer if people don't reblog this. I'm not the most comfortable with my out of character thoughts being spread around. Ruler: It feels like anytime I'm in a rough spot you always have kind words for me. With how often you're in character I just deeply respect you always breaking it for me. You've helped me to feel safe in the community during a very difficult time. That means the world to me.

Annette-mun: I know we only met a year ago but you have become an incredibly close friend to me. Being honest, I rank you as one of my best friends. I have fun with all of the boardgames we play together as well as the connections we've made between a lot of our muses. I always want to recognize all the work you put in sending me those ask spams. I'm sorry that because of head stuff I haven't been able to answer most of the new set. It makes me feel as if I've failed to respect the effort that you have put in. But I hope some day in the future I can fix that. I'm very glad we're friends.

Vel: You're a really funny friend and I care about you a lot. I feel that sometimes I'm not sensitive enough to things that may bother you and worry I may have upset you at times in the past. If I have, I'm really sorry. You write Kyouko really well and your ocs are also quite fun. Thanks for letting me make Nagi. Sometimes you say things that make me feel you are self-concious about your blog and other things. So I just wanna reiterate that I am in your corner and here for you whenever you need.

Slap: I was shy towards you at first, I'll admit. It may not seem it but I'm kinda a shy person in general and I'm nervous to warm up to people, but I'm glad you joined the Touhou community. You're a really funny guy. I love reading your posts on my dash and now I also love playing the occasional game with ya. Your ability to do voice and to commit to bits is astounding. I'm really glad I met you.

Argo: You're someone who is always there for me. I really appreciate that. I left the Fate community for personal reasons years ago now. I'm very glad that, despite that, I still ended up meeting you. Because you've been such a good friend to me. I'm glad that you've gotten somewhat into Touhou because it gives us more room to interact. You've really been there when I've needed you. Often you apologize and say you don't do enough but you've done so much for me. You're special to me.

Hoche: Through all the struggles I've gone through you have been very supportive of me. You have been a level headed voice of support and advice. I think that if it were not for you I would have been worse off in many different circumstances. Aside from that you are a very talented writer. I find myself stunned by some of what I've seen you write. Thank you for everything you've done for me and for being my friend.

Zane: You always show me cool warhammer things and that's special to me. I also really like Nyalter. I love ocs in general, but I think you have done a phenomenal job in giving her a life and story that is uniquely hers. I find it to be quite inspirational and it really pushes me to work harder on my own original characters.

Amber: I have mentioned this before but you were the first person to welcome me into the community. That is always going to be special to me. During that period when you left I teared up a fair amount because it felt like things would always be so different with you gone. I'm very glad that you came back. I really like all your ocs. I'm glad Eri isn't gone but I'm also really happy to be seeing the opportunity for your other ocs to shine as well. They're all fun, but I'm particularly a fan of Anna.

Kay: You've given me some of the advice that has helped me the most when I have been in a bad spot. I can't thank you enough for that. You've stopped me from making really bad decisions. You've also just been a fun and supportive friend. I am very interested in your Reimu and the story arc you've created with the hakurei god.

Swigg: I know we haven't talked much lately. I think our schedules don't line up the best. But you recently mentioned trying to get back into Tumblr. I'll be very happy if you do. Your ocs are fun and you put a lot of love and care into the canon characters you write. I think you add a lot to the community.

Sethy: I didn't know it for a while but back in the Fate community I followed your arknights blog and admired you there. I'm super glad I have gotten the opportunity to meet you and to become your friend. I think that all the things you do are so cool. Like you're a vtuber that's incredible. I always wanted to stream but could never work up the courage. You also know the creators of all the walfas I love. I just think its so cool. You have such a history within the community. I know that you suffered a very bad tragedy this year. I don't believe I was in a good enough headspace at that time to have provided you with the support a friend should have given and I deeply regret that. I just hope you're doing well.

Noka: I think you're a real sweetie and also really funny. I'm glad to see you posting on your sfw blog a lot more again because I really love seeing you on my dash. I'm hoping that we can do a lot more threads in the future because its always fun to write our muses together.

Minnie: Maybe the only person with the same brain worms as me. I know that lately we have not talked much but I hope you are doing well. I just wanna say that I really love your art.

Aurora: My apprentice and buddy, hehe. I know I haven't been around much but I want you to know that I'm glad you decided to join the rpc. You're so full of ideas and kindhearted. You have such phenomenal oc ideas and have such a talent for making danmaku. I think someday you may be the centerpiece of the community.

Sats: We haven't spoken too often but like Amber you were one of the first folks to interact with me in the community. Alongside that I find your writing to be phenomenal. As are your headcanons. The work that you put in to research, especially on folklore, is just so inspirational. It drives me to want to learn everything I can.

Momi: Hey Momi. It's been a while since you've been around and I miss you a lot. I know we still message on discord occasionally so its not like I can't reach out to ya. But I just miss you being in the rpc a lot. You were such a great writer and always doing something fun. But I imagine you've got a whole bunch of difficult challenges ahead of you. I've heard the career you're pursuing is really rough. I hope that you're thriving in it though.

Sarience: You've always been a good pal to me. I have a lot of fun writing with Neka in both forms as well as your other muses. There's a lot of asks from you I haven't answered yet. I'm really sorry about that. It feels disrespectful. Still I hope to be able to do more in the future. Thank you for always being interested in interacting with my muses, even when I was very new and unestablished.

Kaali: A friend I've had for quite a while now but that I don't talk to enough. Sorry about that I'm just genuinely not the best with conversations. I have mad respect for all the work you put into your original characters and into your ideas. Like you really pull out all the stops.

Awoo: I've admired your ability to create interesting and fun original characters a lot. Several decisions I've made to develop my skills as a roleplayer have been inspired by you. I know you've had some mental health struggles of your own and I haven't heard from you lately so I hope you're doing alright wherever you are.

Sades: During some really difficult moments you were there for me when not many other people were. I'm always going to appreciate that. You're also the reason I got into Touhou. Which means that without you, chances are I woule not have met the vast majority of people here or found a community where I feel I belong.

Cobalt: I am always ecstatic when I see your posts on my dash. I love your Chen and think that you're a lot of fun. I have not been around much but when I have been I've seen you talking about things like not feeling you have much to do in the community. I can't make decisions for you but I do want to say that I think you are a fundamental piece of our rpc. I would be sad not having you here.

Teeps: I was shy about approaching you at first but you're incredibly cool. A lot of the fandoms you are in I'm not in but your posts get me interested in them anyways. Like I have no clue who that green sonic character is but you give her such an energy. I'm real glad to know ya. As far as the 2hu rpc goes you've been around a lot longer than me and I love hearing your own personal that you've developed.

Cait: I need to pop in and catch your streams more. I think that you're very cool to see on the dash. I especially love the way that you write your Sakuya. I really cherrish her interactions with my Reimu.

Sev: First of all. A while ago you sent me a very kind message wishing me well in my mental health struggles. I was not in the best place then so I did not appropriately respond. So thank you for that it truly meant a lot to me. I believe that you put a stunning amount of work into the characters you write, giving them so much detail and layers. Its inspiring and I just really want to appreciate you for it.

Hanafuda: You haven't been around much and last we spoke you alluded to a rough spot. So I hope if you ever see this that you're doing well. It was always fun having another Miko on the dash for mine to banter with. I also looked forward to seeing more of the other muses you played. Maybe someday you'll return.

Frozen: Everytime I see one of your posts it makes me smile. Honestly you've got some of the funniest jokes in the fandom. Some I don't get but I still feel they'd be hilarious if I got them. Also I have noticed you often commission art for other people. I find that to be a very sweet and kindhearted thing. So I consider you to be the heart of the community.

Fox: I don't know you very well but I've recently seen your multimuse popping up and it seems very fun. So I want to get to know ya in the future.

Chiru: We've not really spoken but I think you make some really great posts. Very well written headcanons and roleplays. So I just wanna say I'm always happy seeing you on my dash.

Draco: you're not in the touhou fanbase but you have been a long time friend. I haven't heard much from you lately so I hope you're doing well. I'm here if ya need me.

Sturm: I think that all your fairy posts are incredibly. You truly are a star of my dashboard. Hopefully someday we'll interact more. I'd like that.

Arsenios's Story: Preview

Since today is Arsenios's birthday, I'm sharing this little snippet from his story that I've been working on. The story still doesn't have a title, but I swear I'll come up with one at some point.

I wanted to share something a little fluffy. I think this is a cute little scene. It's before all the really dramatic stuff happens in the story lol.

A few days later you were in your bed, staring up at the darkened ceiling. Your mind was whirring, your thoughts steadily tumbling over each other. You wanted to rest, to shut your eyes, and sleep. And yet, for some reason, you couldn't.

You sighed. You rolled over in bed and picked up your D.D.D. hoping something there could distract you.

You were going to scroll through Devilgram, but you accidentally opened your contacts instead. You saw Arsenios's name there, new among your list.

Your finger hovered over the send message option. It was late. He was probably asleep, like you should be. And it wasn't like you guys were close enough that you could just text him in the middle of the night.

And yet…

Your mind was a little cloudy from exhaustion, so you went ahead and sent a message anyway. You'd deal with any consequences later.

MC: Hey, are you still awake? Or do you have a normal sleep schedule?

What a dorky thing to say. But you didn't care because you were tired, but couldn't sleep and your brain was not fully functioning. You just needed to talk to someone. Sure, you could have sent a message to any one of the brothers. Actually, you could have just left your room and talked to them in person. Levi was certainly still awake and a good gaming session might even be something that could help. Lucifer might still be awake, too, but you were far more likely to encounter a lecture from him. But for some reason, you didn't want to do any of that.

Your phone vibrated and you nearly dropped it in surprise.

Arsenios: What's sleep? Is that a human thing?

You rolled your eyes. Now you felt a little less like a dork because you were clearly talking to someone who was even more of one than you were.

MC: Ha ha, very funny. So you are awake.

Arsenios: I am now. Did you forget to do your curses and hexes homework for tomorrow? Because if that's why you're texting me, I regret to inform you that I didn't do it either.

MC: No, unlike you I actually care about school. I know better than to think you've done any homework ever.

Arsenios: That's a relief. I wouldn't want to be known for doing homework. So what's up? Everything okay?

You paused for a moment. Was he worried about you? You shook your head. You were being silly.

MC: Nothing, really. I just can't sleep, that's all.

Arsenios: I can do something about that. Hang on.

You read this last message in confusion. You stared at the screen for a moment, not sure how to respond, when it scared you to death by ringing in your hand. Arsenios's name flashed across the screen.

He was calling you?

You swiped to answer because what else could you do?

"Um, hello?" you said.

"Hey," Arsenios said. "Sorry to just call you out of nowhere like that, but I can't help you sleep if you can't hear me."

"What are you talking about?" you asked.

There was the soft strum of guitar strings on the other line.

"Have you already forgotten?" His tone was amused. "I can sing you to sleep."

You stared at the phone for a minute. "What?"

He laughed, a soft rolling sound that sounded like music itself. "My power, remember? If you're having trouble sleeping, it would be easy for me to put a little magic into my song to help you fall asleep. Is that okay?"

Your cheeks heated up and you were glad he couldn't see you. At least he asked this time. You thought about it. It would be nice if you could just sleep right now. "Okay. But if I fall asleep…"

"Don't worry," Arsenios said. "I'll hang up. I won't hear you snoring or talking in your sleep."

"I don't do either of those things!" you said and he laughed again.

"Just get comfortable and tell me when you're ready," he said.

You readjusted yourself so that you were comfortable in your bed, keeping your D.D.D. beside you on the pillow.

"Okay," you said. "I'm ready."

"Sweet dreams, MC," Arsenios said. He started to play the guitar before you could respond. Moments later, he was singing something soft and sweet. You hadn't heard it before, so you figured it was a Devildom song of some kind. It was mellow and quiet. The baritone of his voice easily rising and falling with the notes. It was hard to believe this was the same voice that had been practically growling on stage with the band. Right now it was smooth and gentle, the acoustic hum of the guitar strings mingling perfectly.

Soon enough, your eyes began to drift closed. You felt yourself falling into a restful slumber. It was like you were wrapped up in the song's melody, held close and kept warm. Your dreams were mild and pleasant.

Magnus Hammersmith (Metalocalypse)

Real fucked up of the creators of this show to take my celebrity crush + bisexual awakening as the visual reference for a character who's always partially shirtless and wielding a knife. Also there's a 5000 year old prophecy that says his destiny is to be a forgotten loser.

2. Captain Nemo/Prince Dakkar (Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea)

The gif is from the Disney movie, but my heart belongs to the original novel characterization. Genius inventor who turned his back from society, but not from marginalized people. Good at everything except for not falling down self-destructive spirals. Takes money from sunken colonialist warships and uses it to fund revolutions. Serves as a haunting metaphor as the ocean itself. Please when will we have a faithful adaptation?

3. Thoth (The Kane Chronicles interpretation)

I am specifically going with The Kane Chronicles' interpretation of this Egyptian god. Especially compared to a lot of other interpretations of him in modern media, I like how the book doesn't portray him as this stuffy "everyone is an idiot except me" kind of guy. It's really refreshing seeing an interpretation of a god of knowledge who is clearly scary-powerful and a genius, but is also the ADHD weirdo who keeps getting distracted and can't finish his projects. I also like how he doesn't brush off the protagonists because they're mortals or teenagers or whatever. The book does a great job showing how his brain works and how he thinks, which makes him a lot more effective as a god of knowledge imo. Also they made him relocate in Memphis, Tennessee? After so many British adaptations of him, it's refreshing to see a god of knowledge with a southern accent (if you listen to the audiobook).

It's so good, it almost makes up for the book's interpretation of Anubis.

4. Vivienne (Dragon Age)

I thought for a while about which Dragon Age character I should add. While there are characters I made more stuff about during my peak years in the fandom, Vivienne is the main character I keep going back to. I love her elegance, the way she's written, her voice acting, her look??? Fashion/character design in the franchise peaked with her. Also as far as a Circle character goes, I find her utterly fascinating as someone having to survive in an oppressive system and developing different/conflicting perspectives about it. I think she was a much-needed perspective and I adore her. Also now I was just reminded of the trend of people having their white mage ocs or the other white mage characters "educate" her about oppression and now I'm mad about Dragon Age bs again lol. Vivienne is the best choice for divine don't @ me.

5. Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks)

*Holds him up like a a cat* he's nice :)

I've rewatched this show (the main series - haven't gotten around to watching the new show) and every time I find more reasons to love him. He could have so easily been this brooding cynical noir type, but instead he's this ray of sunshine who sees the beauty and joy in everything around him. I'm glad he's okay :)

6. Shaolin Fantastic (The Get Down)

Putting aside my heartbreak over this show's cancellation for a second to talk about how good the cast is. I thought about choosing Zeke, but I couldn't not choose Shaolin. I love how he's introduced as this mysterious genius who was willing to fight a man in an alley for a record, but then the main crew gets to know him and he's a huge dork? He takes care of pigeons, he samples the Star Wars theme in his DJ sets, he's nice :) Also the cool big brother vibe he has with the younger characters is really cute. It would suck if this show got cancelled so the story will always end with him being forced to go back to his abuser :) that would suck.

7. Nozomu Itoshiki (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei)

I think he's funny and pretty and I hope he gets therapy.

8. Bella Goth (The Sims)

Weird to add a Sims character maybe, but not doing so would be a disservice to the chokehold this woman had on me as a younger player. 10 year old me broke my copy of TS2 because I fucked up the game files by trying to get Bella back.

9. Benny (Fallout: New Vegas)

I knew I had to pick a FNV character. I considered Silus, since he's interesting for a Legion character. But in the end I went with Benny. He has the best aesthetic, and his evolution from "the guy who shot you and instigated your protagonist's whole plot" to "pathetic little guy who agrees to help you take down the system because everyone sucks--and also he's into feet" is some masterful character growth.

10. Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold (Once Upon a Time)

This show is a mess, but the scene where he beats that man with his cane was kinda hot. Also you can't make a man 1. the most powerful force in the universe, 2. somehow still pathetic, 3. have that hairstyle, 4. trying to be a good father and partner but always failing because of his own selfishness, and 5. Scottish, and not expect me to enjoy him. Robert Carlyle put his entire rumpelstussy into that performance.

Eda: Lol heads up if you try to make a candle with food coloring, the food coloring will just sink to the bottom of the glass, and when the flame eventually reaches the bottom all the food coloring will catch fire and become one giant tall flame that you cannot possibly blow out and the glass will start to crack and then you'll throw your tea on it in a panic and then the extremely hot food coloring will boil and sizzle horribly and then the glass will shatter and Gob will accidentally cut his poor little hands on your stupidity. Please take my word on this.

Nova: What did you do?

Just Some Guy (Carry On, Snowbaz, sorta (and Matt/Leslie??))

THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND HIMSELF. No, I'm not talking about Simon "Chosen One" Snow, but about our boi Matty Chris D. He is just some guy. It's Simon and Baz's canon 7.25 years at Watford from a perspective of an OC who couldn't care less about them, which led to some humourous situations. Dre, you actually motivated me to finish this story by giving me ideas for certain situations. I think this is one of the funniest ideas I've ever had and I'm glad with how it ended up.

Time After Time (Carry On, Snowbaz)

Time to go to the other MCD: Major Character Death. This idea had been in the back of my mind ever since Wayward Son got released and we didn't know whether Bazzy was immortal, so I played with it. Simon dies in the White Chapel and is Capital D Dead. No magic can bring him back kind of dead. He and Baz meet every 20 years when the Veil lifts. I think this fic was really challenging, because I had no idea how to end it, but I am glad that it kind of got 2 endings and it works. fatalfangirl on AO3 called this "upsettingly romantic" and I am inclined to agree. There's just this ache of looming heartbreak over the entire fic.

make a fire out of this flame (Carry On, Snowbaz)

Step aside MCD (Matt Christopher Davis), because I think this is the funniest thing I've written. It's a non-magickal textfic. I am a sucker for textfics/epistolary fics so it's wack I've never tried one myself. It's, uh, filled with Little Numbers references because I can. I just loved writing the gang (Penny, Shep, Niall, Dev) being batshit insane at times and I loved adding ridiculous memes and lines to this. Even coming up with groupchat names was a hoot. AND since it's a textfic, I didn't have to worry about typos! Formatting was hell, though, but it was so worth it. Also, Simon/Fish OTP.

All shall know the wonder (Check, Please!; Zimbits)

This is actually, probably, my favourite Zimbits fic that I've written. It's the oldest on this list. I published it in 2020, but I think I started on it in 2019. I had a huge interest in Deaf culture in the late 2010s (I hate writing it like that) and that led to this fic. Jack is Deaf, so never joined the SMH. He still likes to play, though, and he and Bitty, who is on the team, meet at Faber at 4am on a Sunday. I loved writing this fic and I am glad that other people who know more about Deaf culture and ASL (yes, Jack is Canadian, but it's explained why he also uses ASL) also liked it. Oh, and I am a bitch for Camilla Collins, so I am glad I was able to give her a role in this fic. Camilla/Shruti is probably my Check, Please! crack ship.

Ljubim te (Glee, Klaine)

I genuinely love this fic, which is why I am so bummed about the fact that the sequel isn't going as swimmingly. Kurt and Blaine meet in Ljubljana, since I used to live there for 6 months, so it's a great way for me to reminisce over my time there. The story is mostly about comphet and the idea of exploring comphet actually came from Simon/Agatha. In this fic, Blaine and Quinn totally believe they're straight and into each other, ignoring the signs that *narrator voice* they are, in fact, not straight. I loved writing Blaine/Quinn (AS FRIENDS!).

About my daydreaming(if you care:

I'm daydreaming through most parts of my day, and my daydreaming topics come and go in "phases". THIS IS NOT THE SAME FOR EVERYONE. DAYDREAMING CAN BE REALLY DIFFERENT FROM ONE MADDer TO ANOTHER.

Theres a "main phase" and "small phases". The main phase is my big hyperfixation, it changes over the course of a couple years, it's like my main channel. Small phases are basically AU's of the main phase that doesn't last that long and that usually comes in the form of other content, like when I was a kid my main phase at the time was Lego Ninjago and a small phase was Jurrasic Park, and while I still daydreamed about Ninjago I also had this little branch-off that I would daydream about but I never daydreamed about Jurrasic Park unless the ninja were there.

"Side phases" have turned up recently and they're basically like a small main phase, where I daydream about it individually but it's still not as prominent as the main phase.

What am I doing here? Glad you asked:

I'm basically just spewing random headcanons or plot points about whatever main phase I'm in.

Current phases:

Main phase: Egos.. Markiplier egos, Ethan Nestor egos, Jacksepticeye egos, Matpat egos, Natewantstobattle egos, and Sanders Sides.

Small phase(s): *deep inhale* real life egos(there just real guys that ended up under the same roof), real life egos but some of them are children, an ego one that's just sad- darks just an entity thing that controls them and they don't bond or anything it's just really depressing, an ego pirate one in there for some reason- damn ao3 pirate fic, an ego supernatural one's started up as of three days of typing this, an ego one where they have wings- Doctor_Discord on ao3 my beloved, a teamiplier A/B/O one- goddamn ao3 again, and a teamiplier one where Marks a mafia boss Tyler, Amy, and Kathryn were employed before and Ethan gets pulled into it somehow- there's no plot just vibes- the whole thing started cuz I saw an Ethan edit with the song Pyrimids and he was wearing that one suit.

Side phase(s): Supernatural one where Meg ended up having Cas's kid without him knowing and I accidentally projected my parame(daydream version of myself) onto her, my backrooms para(oc), and this one Harry Potter one thats stuck in there where Draco has DID- you don't have to say it I am well aware.

Anyways, let me talk about Jeuno for a second

I did another run for fun and because I already got my drop for the week I left my room at the end for a minute to do something. When coming back I realized I forgot to pass on the pieces I couldn't get anyways. Mortifying.

Can we keep Prishe. Can we just. Give them Alisaie or something. Prishe at least has the decency to call someone names.

#1 Raid Mechanics

I think this is the exact right difficulty I want them at, they're chaotic (well...) they're visually impactful and not just in a cutscene that halts the entire momentum for no good reason (direct eye contact with Nald'thal) (both of them) and they're not going to be boring the second time you do them because each boss only has 3 (relatively) basic mechanics that immediately loop in the exact same way you've already seen them in (Thaleia; exception being Llymi)

Because as much as I think they could go further I was just stuck for 30? Minutes at Shadowlord - which I find is easier than the Ark Angels, the biggest difficulty is that the cleaves are kinda weird - and this is just not the content for something even more involved. That's why they're doing Chaotic after all.

Special Shout Out to the Ark Angel HM mechanic where you have to kite him. That's so goddamn funny.

#2 The German Dub

I did my for fun run with german voice over to hear how the Prishe from the trailer turns out in the game and well...

She's amazing. The voice actress nailed the assignment. Please set your voice over to german for her fight even just once (you can just do that in-game in the system options in the instance, you don't need to download new data for that or reload or something) because you too can learn the power of SCHMACKES!!!!

If I figure out OBS for next week's gear run I'll record her and post it here, because I'm a fan and I need you to be too (the one thing I miss about playing on PS4 is quick record ._. can just click a button and save the last few minutes of whatever you did. kind of weird that they actively record what you're doing but so convenient)

Anyways, I ended up doing the entire run in german and I have to say, the entire raid's german va work is pretty good! I really liked Bakool Ja Ja's Voice Actors, they are a bit more your usual stiff german Anime/Video Game Voice Acting, same with the Ark Angels, but it's not stiff enough to be weird or anything.

Now Shadow Lord however. That guy.

After doing the fight to about 80% three times in a row I have to say I really like the voice actor's performance, it's definitely a different direction than the other languages but he really sells it.

#3 I found my new (second) least favorite thing about FFXIV my least favorite thing is still Myths of the Realm, fuck eulogia

This is a Shard Metaphysics Tangent.

I hate it. I don't know what they're thinking they're doing with it but I don't care anymore, it's something I roll my eyes at whenever they feel the need to go pseudo-scientific deep lore about it because they can pretend all they want, it does not make sense anymore because of weird mini retcons nobody asked for that weren't even necessary.

Imagine doing this whole cutscene in Shadowbringers where you show us exactly what happened to which shard in which order and then instead of working with what you establish there you bring it up after two expansions but now everything is labeled differently to conform with whatever whim you thought up and you just act like that's not weird at all - and not only that you also condescend to me about how look, it actually has to be this way because there's this other vague lore rule that we arbitrarily decided is more important. What, don't you know the lore? If you paid attention you would know we said this! what do you mean "other stuff"?

What fun to imagine that! Am I glad I cared about what you wrote when putting together my OC Lore in satisfyingly canon-abiding ways!

Minor Spoiler for Interphos EX, but since the ground in the Ice Phase is once again a Roman Numeral (making Wind -> X / 10, Earth -> II / 2, Ice -> III / 3) it does very much imply that those are the shards Sphene is connecting with (unless nobody in development noticed that the ground shapes are all numbers in which case... okay). Problem is of course that that doesn't make any fucking sense from any direction because the 2nd Shard succumbed to a Fire Calamity, the 3rd to Earth and the 10th to Water - and - the 2nd Calamity was Lightning (which was on the 12th) and the 3rd Fire (10th doesn't exist so don't know why I brought it up).

It's kind of impressive they didn't even manage to hit one of those.

But even pretending that Graha just labeled his Shard Power Point wrong and the Calamities are just in another order and on different shards it still doesn't make any sense because Alexandria being the Ninth and not the Twelfth is from a writing perspective - hopefully because otherwise the only reason for doing that is "Look, FF9" and that's a really stupid reason to upend your lore for - solely built around the "fact" that the Rejoinings leave nothing behind... but if Alexandria is from the 9th because LM can't be in the 12th "since it's rejoined" how is Sphene connecting to the Elemental Nothings of 2, 3 and 10, which are all Rejoined and therefore shouldn't exist anymore? So what you're saying is that there is a Twelfth Lightning Nothing that Living Memory could have been in!? So why ruin the Ninth with a Failed Rejoining you never mentioned before instead of just making this easy on everybody??? Ugh, I hate it.

Anyways. The reason I bring this up is that they're clearly setting up Vana'diel's place in this world building mess since they talk about it a bunch to set up the mystery they will presumably solve at some point and they show the ruins of Amaurot in that one Shadow Lord Attack (i'm assuming? it looks like ruined amaurot and what else should it be) to tie it all together - and I'm somewhat concerned about that because they made it very clear that despite what we're seeing of it being "fake" (we'll get to it) it still all comes from actual FF11 Vana'diel - and making FF11 a shard after all of the "The Shards are just mangled copies of the Source/Sundered World" you ended up doing would be so disrespectful. Like, no, you cannot do that, the things that would do to stuff like Altana and Promathia. The only thing of the sort I will accept is if Vana'diel is the sundered world in the far far far far far far faaar flung past - which would make Shadow Lord prevailing to stand in Amaurot's crumbling ruins even more metal btw - otherwise do not make Vana'diel involved with the Shards in any way shape or form!!!! DON'T DO IT.

#4 The NieR of it all

That's a Shadowlord Reference, right. This looks like Amaurot but Snow in Summer. They made a NieR reference, right. They connected the two Shadow Lords :)

Well... It's more likely than you think.

I want to boldly predict that this story line was written by the person who wrote Mamook (who I previously theorized to be Megumi Onozuka and who I assume was involved with Y:DA which means she know her stuff and is NieR-adjacent) and I want to be right about that because I want to be that person's biggest fan, I want to curse their name in delight when nobody else does

I get why people wouldn't be keen on them establishing that the Walks are just copies made of Electrope instead of just making the Eleventh a Return-to-Ivalice-esque Vana'diel or something where whatever's happening here won't disturb the original world. As established above I'm not particularly keen on it either but if this is going where I think it's going I think it could be an amazing idea and worth wobbling the lore for.

First of all, I think this is an Isekai. I think Alxaal is a Player. Not a player character, a Player - Prishe makes a clear distinction he isn't the PC of FF11 she knew - which is important because I think these memory constructs aren't built on the actual "facts" of FF11 which just happen to invoke Memories of the players but literally on the Player's Memories of them, all of their subjectivities included. Like, this is not just FF11 Prishe, this is basically the collective unconscious version of Prishe constructed through the audience of FF11 - which at the end of the day is what she is if this isn't directly written by the writers who wrote her.

But that's not the exciting part to me, that's not why this is the NieR part of this post. The reason for that is that doing that they set up a situation where we pose the worth our memories of what happened against the facts of what happened. They literally start a thing about Prishe having to figure out what she's worth knowing that she is a copy - but with this added nuance it becomes "What is this version of Prishe, the Prishe someone remembered, worth if she isn't the "Real" Prishe?" - and that feels very NieR to me, especially since looking at FF11 and FF14 it's a very topical discussion to have.

Compared to "normal" RPGs both FF11 and 14 are uniquely in the position of also providing a sandbox for players to make memories in - memories that the developers haven't planned in the form they can plan story moments and the like. This would be a very interesting way to acknowledge that - and affirm that those memories, that "subjective" view of Vana'diel (and Eorzea for that matter), is just as real as the factual version the developers created. And I think that's a really neat thing for a cross-over of 11 and 14 in particular to be about, since it is something only these two share among the other Final Fantasies.

In a similar vein both of these games are inevitably going to "end." Even if they somehow get an offline version that version will be different, the "original" FF11 will not exist once the servers are shutdown - and honestly it already doesn't exist anymore since playing FF11 nowadays is a whole different beast from playing FF11 back in the day. "What is this version of Prishe, the Prishe someone remembered, worth if she isn't the "Real" Prishe?" can just as well be about that.

So with all these thoughts bubbling in my head I'm very excited to see where they're heading with this.

I just really hope they don't pull a Myths of the Realm on me again and end this with the stupidest conclusion anyone could ever come to, maybe something like us having to delete our Prishe specifically because she's not the real one. As always, fuck eulogia.

Also, just to say it if that is what they were trying to do with that Shadow Lord attack above, I really love the idea of people that played FF11 and NieR using their chance to connect the two, even if it's just because of the name. Like now you can say "Oh yeah, 14's FF11 Shadowlord kind of has a NieR reference attack" and FF14 people did that. I think stuff like that is neat :)
