Javi had Mari with his ex, and frequently goes to the gas station Ru works at to buy food for them eventually they get to flirting, except Javi is scared if he says he's a dad Ru will be thrown off...so he hides that fact until their first date...WHICH IS AT JAVIS PLACE Javi is like 'hey lets go on a date. to my house.' and Ru's a little confused but yk what yeah ok so he gets to Javis appartment...and finds A CHILD hes confused and lost so he asks Javi to talk...Javier thinks Ru is gonna cuss him out, but instead Ruben is like 'hey i dont mind you having a child, ill gladly help you out n stuff, this isnt gonna ruin anything for me...but i wish you told me first cause i wouldve gotten her a gift :(' Javier is amused and promises to be more open Ruben now brings them stuff every day

the idea of Javier explaining to Mariana that his love for her and Ruben are very different, so there's no reason to argue... Mariana getting attached to Ruben, and then her crying when he has to leave for work... auwhhweew dies BLOWS UP

how do you think Javier justified or explained his own actions when he began to work for the government and going against the revolution he fought for before?

I think Javier is the type of guy who does anything to survive, even if that means gaslighting himself into believing what he's doing isn't wrong.

We know from a character interaction that Javier is disappointed in the rebellion, expressing frustration over the fact that even after 5(ish) years, they haven't made a move. So he's upset with these new revolutionaries, probably thinking they just don't have the guts/strength to actually fight. Of course, they actually do. (We as players know that this only ends worse for Mexico but yk the characters don't.) So to me, he first thought 'well these people arent actually gonna fight so its whatever, what do i care' and then went 'okay they ARE fighting but IM fighting FOR MY LIFE. if i do not work for the government, i'll DIE.' When John tells Javier he's working for the government too, Javier chuckles awkwardly and kinda looks around, so to me it's clear that he's not really sold on his own justification...which is why i think it's some bullshit like that lol. Maybe he's a bit offended, too? cause he also fought, and didn't win. so maybe he's a little asshurt because they actually succeeded
