Ponyboy Curtis: Sensitive and Reckless

The sun trailed over the cut of the valley, silver linings reflected against the sunset, shimmering in the early morning sunlight. A small wisp of sunlight rose further, pink shining above it – different colors almost in cut layers. Gold to orange, the colors faded into each other. Reddish hair covered with blond bleach, the colors reflected in a swirl of gray and green eyes. The sunset is quite admirable, with its colors and mist. Most people tend to enjoy watching it, and so does Ponyboy. Ponyboy Curtis – a character from the novel: “The Outsiders”, written by S.E. Hinton – is quite thoughtless with his actions, sensitive with his feelings and thoughts, and considerate for the wellbeing of others.

Ponyboy is very thoughtless – without consideration of the possible consequences – of the future or dangers his actions might cause; getting told off about it by his eldest brother quite often. At the beginning of the book, Ponyboy is jumped by the Socs, a group of upper-class boys threatening the fourteen-year-old. Ponyboy had gone with no one with him and hadn’t brought some type of weapon as well. “I glanced around for a pop bottle or a stick or something – but there was nothing” ( S.E. Hinton, 4 ). The quote proves that Ponyboy was desperate for a way to defend himself, meaning he hadn’t brought along something that could’ve helped him in that situation. He hadn’t thought ahead and brought a switchblade despite knowing that the Socs could jump him at any given moment. Something that also could have prevented that happening is if he had waited for one of his older brothers or asked a friend to go with him, as it’s doubtful the Socs would jump two Greasers. With thoughtlessness though, comes recklessness. It’s quite obvious Ponyboy didn’t think about the future consequences of walking alone, with nothing to defend him but the hands at his sides, which he wouldn’t be able to use against a blade anyway. When Dally brought Johnny and Ponyboy back to the church from Dairy Queen, it was seen on fire, and Ponyboy almost immediately jumped out of the car to go and run inside – after hearing that there were children still inside the burning building. “I jerked loose and ran off. All I could think was: We started it. We started it. We started it!.” He just ran inside after thinking that it might’ve been his and Johnny’s fault for starting the fire, which also slightly goes with being considerate. Ponyboy, instead of thinking of what might happen to himself if he did go inside the burning church, decided to run inside, despite all the warnings from the others around him. Jerry and Dallas to name a few. The only thing mentioned that was on his mind was the fact that Johnny or himself might’ve started the fire with a cigarette they didn’t put out all the way. He felt guilty enough to try and make up for it, which again, goes with being considerate a bit. If he had thought of what may have happened to him or anyone who followed, things that did happen might’ve not. He faced the onerous emotion of guilt and couldn’t stop to think about it. Ponyboy is not very conscious of how his decisions might affect him in the future, making him thoughtless about how things may play out. He’s not very pragmatic about what he might do, and this affects most of what happens in the book, the obvious being him getting jumped at the beginning and the church fire, but also when he ran away from the Curtis household after Darry had hit him, and when he talked back to Bob and Randy at the park, mocking the Socs in return to a similar insult.

The youngest Curtis brother is also quite sensitive, a contrast to what his older brother, Darry is. Ponyboy is sensitive to his feelings and often finds himself spiraling down his emotional thoughts. Ponyboy, whilst in the church still with Johnny, had to get his hair cut so the paper reporting the murder wouldn’t describe what they looked like correctly. The author writes, “Johnny flipped out the razor-edge of his switch, took hold of my hair and started sawing on it. I shuddered. “Not too short.” I begged. “Johnny please . . .” ( S.E. Hinton, 72 ). This part is particularly obvious of Ponyboy being sensitive, as Johnny’s just cutting his hair. Of course, Ponyboy mentions that it’s his pride and joy against the Socs Mustangs and Madras, but it would be more logical to not be recognizable by anyone who’s read the paper. He’s desperate for Johnny to not cut his hair, practically begging Johnny not to cut it ‘too short’. During the chapters when Johnny and Pony were at the church, Ponyboy wakes up early one morning, in time to see the sunrise. Johnny soon follows and the two end up watching the sunset together, with Ponyboy reciting a poem by Robert Frost ( Nothing Gold Can Stay ). Ponyboy states “I was trying to find the meaning the poet had in mind, but it eluded me. ‘I always remembered it because I never quite got what he meant by it,” (Hinton 78). This sunset scene, and quote, show that Ponyboy takes time out of his day to enjoy the small things such as the sunset, something his brothers may not do. He’s sensitive instead of cold and logical, memorizing a poem he didn’t understand instead of ignoring what he didn’t understand and moving on to what they did know. Spending his time trying to make sense of the poem instead of forgetting it and progressing. Ponyboy’s sensitivity affects many points in the books, most obviously what differentiates him from the others, who are all tough, cold, and mean. He’s not afraid to speak his feelings to most people, anyone who’s really willing to listen, he ends up speaking to them about things he enjoys or needs to talk about. For example, when he told Cherry what happened to Johnny without really realizing it he started rambling about the story.

The fourteen-year-old in high school is also very considerate of others' well-being, for some reason only thinking ahead for that reason: if he can help them, and not what might happen to him if he does end up doing what may help them. He’s very conscious of what might make others feel better or worse — having sensitive insight. Later in the book, before the rumble, Cherry meets up with Two-Bit and Ponyboy as they’re heading home from the hospital. Cherry and Pony talk for a bit, ending up in an argument of sorts, and when Ponyboy notices this, he attempts to make Cherry feel better – and also silently admits to himself that he would help Cherry if she needed it. He states, “I would. I would help her and Randy both if I could” (Hinton, 129). This shows that Ponyboy notices Cherry about to start crying from their argument – or her grief about Bob – and he’s willing to try and fix it to make her feel better. This indicates that Ponyboy is quite considerate of other people’s feelings and emotions and he’s willing to try and make them feel better; maybe at the cost that he won’t feel better himself. Near the end of The Outsiders book, after all the events of the rumble and Johnny and Dally’s death, Ponyboy finds himself in a predicament where a group of Socs try to attack him, and as a weapon, he shatters a glass bottle. After the Socs leave, Ponyboy ends up picking up the glass shards, and he thinks, “I didn’t want anyone to get a flat tire,” (Hinton 172). Considerate means being careful not to cause inconvenience or hurt to others, and Ponyboy is doing just that. He’s being careful not to hurt anyone who might injure themselves if they step on the glass, and he’s making sure the shards aren’t inconveniencing anyone driving as well, and picking up the glass shows he is thinking of others. Being considerate is just a simple addition to the multitude of attributes Ponyboy has, and even throughout the events that happen in the book, such as losing two of his best friends and having to go through trial, Ponyboy stays considerate — still continues thinking about others. I figure this affects most of his decisions, such as how he went into the church fire to save the kids stuck inside, and when he listens to Randy despite the fact that he could’ve been hurt.

Ponyboy Curtis is quite thoughtless of future consequences, sensitive, and considerate of other people’s feelings. He is quite relatable with these traits, as many people could relate to not thinking ahead, or being more connected with their feelings than other people.

Can't stop tginking about aware!cod character aus. Where cod is just a video game and ur just a super fan, but for some reason in ur copy of the game, all (or only some you can decide) of them are aware, and like, deeply begging for you to pick them. They crave your attention.

Bonus points if it becomes a yandere/obsessed situation (i guess the term yandere has become outdated and offensive but im not sure? If you buy another copy there won't be any issues actually :) these ones arent alive!! Although... I can't promise your safety much longer, as doing this is a surefire way to piss the hell out of whatever character is on you, probably spending most of their time at this point in your phone, or if you have an apple or techy watch, that, since its close to your skin and they love that! But playing with an unaware version of them is so... Jealously inducing. You were dumbfounded when your entire screen turned off, and every light around you started flickering wildly... What is going on? Maybe you shouls call an electrician? (He won't be able to remove them, nothing will)

venting n rambling

i ran out of meds bc my antideprsants r on their way (it took forever bc i had to have my dad go buy my meds in israel n then go to a different pharmacy that sends the medicine abroad n then the guy at the pharmacy was insane n unhinged and didnt feel like handling my meds bc he was lazy . literally. so my dad had to come in the morning instead to give it to a different employee but stores r closed in israel during weekend so he had to wait the whole weekend so my meds were further delayed and then it was finally sent but even tho it was sent in express israel postoffice/mail is so garbage it took weeks and its still not here) and like i feel so bad. i thought mb it will b ok to try to take a lower dose for awhile (to save on meds until my meds arrive bc i didnt have much left) but no it wasnt ok. and it made me think like yeah holy shit i do have a sickness. like bc last time i wasnt on antidepressants was awhile ago so i didnt fully remember. but like it affects me so much the meds/lack of meds. so i do have an imbalance in my brain. i am sick . like its ok to feel bad bc i have a sickness. its ok

even tho i always have constant stress without meds anxiety is BAD and then i procsinate.. n depression too obvs. but bc cptsd the stress is rlly bad. n even on meds i feel stress/fear nonstop but without i just cant function or do anything

Aww!!! I love your new Ayato story. To be honest, when I read the tags and the description, it was very hard for me to imagine a combination between Ayato and drugs, but I was very wrong, because now I started to get addicted to this story as well as Ayato. The idea feels so real and doable. I'm even now convinced that if Ayato was human in the canon universe, without those supernatural powers and vampiric sadism, he'd handle the situation in a similar way, since there's no way he'd be the asocial loser in class (-: However, his super beauty as a vampire doesn't work here, and it wouldn't be realistic just to exist to have friends :-*

putting it under a cut for discussions of drugs

so i've been writing drug addict fics for a real long time now and i generally consider myself able to make any character into an addict, primarily due to my wide scope of knowing and under the pretext of "it can happen to anyone", and in dialovers, i've now written shu, reiji, laito, subaru, ruki, kou, yuma and azusa. hence i moved to ayato.

ayato has gone up a lot in my heart since i first found dialovers in 2017 and especially since my re-obsession era in 2021. the more i read him, esp LE, the more i learn about his strengths and weaknesses. he's vulnerable, he's got academic trauma. he wants to do well, he does, but he's scared of trying because he doesn't want to make himself look stupid.

and contrary to the ayato can't read joke on my DL server, ayato can read and i think he's pretty smart if he really wants to do something. i.e. his MB after story he DOES get a degree but it's for yui's sake. he has to have a reason. and without said reason, he's void of motivation and frankly doesn't really know HOW to try.

you're right, ayato acts like a silly goofy big strong vampire because he's convincing himself he's The Shit. he bigs himself up as Yours Truly, pretends he's the best, because his entire self-worth growing up was based on the assumption he was going to be The Best. and if he's not The Best, then he's a failure.

when you combine that mindset with a situation where he obviously isn't going to be the best, you have a perfect recipe to write a drug fic i think.

he can't possibly be that guy with no friends, he wants to be liked and the best. but most importantly, he has a deep intrinsic desire to be the best academically too. but he never learnt to study, he has zero self-worth, and starting uni away from his closest brothers (laito n subaru in this case) in a difficult degree is challenging. couple this with the fact i gave him ADHD bc ADHD ayato has my heart, he's lost. and because being the best in his mind is more important than his own health and sense of self, he'd be willing to do anything to maintain that. and if he found a drug which does that for him, why wouldn't he use it, yknow?

i won't spoil too much about the fic there by mentioning yui's role in this (bc yui doesn't appear until ch11 unfortunately), but this is an overview of why i'm so excited to write an ayato addict fic finally.

on a similar note, next up Might be shin, actually. shin has potential, mostly from stuff in his LE. because of endzeit, shin very much has this mindset where he needs to prove he's sick in order to get validation. like he needs to be sick to prove something about himself. obviously if this weren't canon then endzeit can't be a thing, but i could talk for hours and hours and HOURS about the "needs to be ill to get validation of health" trauma (mainly due to personal experience) and it'd be really interesting to write in the context of drug addiction!

ok hi im BACK. i may have been procrastinating reading ur thawed series (like a total loser?? how did i procrastinate that) but now that i finally did it i am so infatuated ?!?!?!? i fucking love how badass the reader is and i loved her silly little friendship with lynette and fremi (and lyney too, no matter how much they denied its existence (('its' like the friendship. not lyney. love him)). ever since i started genshining (crowd boos) ive been obsessed with polearms .. theyre just so ??? aghmakdmf ?? ? they feel like water. flowey. like. yk. rivers (woah high class poet here watch out). i think theyre not as restricting as swords, bows, etc. honestly, a polearm is like .. a sword and bow in one. a sword bc. swoosh, kachow, yk? but a bow if you're bold. like, imagine throwing ur polearm like its some fucking arrow. sick as FUCK!! it would just be embarrassing to walk to ur (hopefully) dead enemy to pick it back up like 'ooh. that may have been dramatic u guys. mb.' also i. im wondering if i missed something while reading bc the knave just let the reader go?? like that?? nuh uh. i dont believe that. shes definitely keeping an eye out on her, making sure no fatui secrets get out .. i think im more excited abt the probability of an encounter between reader and arlecchino than one with the siblings fdjfidj. readers fight or flight goes crazy, and i dont think neither of those are really an option against a fatui harbringer, especially one that watched you train for most of your life.. probably knows everything about you, too ... yeuugh. i love the thawed series, and im really looking forward to seeing more of it!!! its really well done, i was giggling and kicking my feet while reading. im probably gonna reread it a couple times so if u see any of my crazy ass asks rambling, theorizing, and whatnot (just like this one), dont mind them ^__^

AND RAIDEN!! did this very cool fight scene with a polearm and it BLEW MY MIND! it looked exactly as you described it. water flowey. Rivers. AND SHE ALSO THREW IT!!! i was like. Okay. i have to make this the weapon.)

The thing is. Mafia boss is never treated as sympathetically as any other bosses. Directors are just some celebirdies and Snatcher gets BFF contracted. It is some mafia goon that clings to the ship and not him, and it isnt that he is there and he doesnt have a speaking role like Cooking Cat (unless im blind), he isnt present in the scene in any capacity, no one is holding his jar. Even in the cut cafe scene he is like HEY?? I DIED?? and no one gives a darn. He willingly causes harm like Snatcher EXCEPT Snatcher doesn't seem to hunt people outside, its fae hospitality bullshit but he stays on his fucking lane. Mafia Boss' backstory, his motivation is that he got bored so he invaded an island and At Most Charitable Interpretation mass deported its locals.

Fuck, the fact you can even offer the time piece is enough evidence that Mu is in the right but thats where we leave off!!!!

i'm not in particularly sure what post of mine this is responding to (if at all and it's maybe just a random rambling!) so i'm gonna try and assume this was something i said about mafia boss' character but if it's not what i think it is i apologize-

but if this is about how mafia boss' character doesn't get much of anything compared to the other characters, i do for sure agree. like i am not heavily invested in mafia boss' character myself (he's mostly just a funny bastard guy tm to me; i don't necessarily hate him by any means just what he did i'm not a fan of bc. i love mu gjsfjafjjcwjc) BUT i do think it's lame as hell that compared to the other antagonists he gets very little to his character and doesn't really have much a motivation for anything beyond like. being bored one day and maybe the mafia's population problem. and like, if we're talking cut content, he also had one interesting aspect to his character which was literally ONE LINE before his boss fight that mentioned he saw the time pieces a long time ago and for some reason the devs cut it? but left grooves' line IN about how he saw one a long time ago?? weirdly inconsistent and rather unfair. (tho that like mb says is canon in my mind still)

and yeah, everyone else is also treated as though they are worth sympathy too but he's kinda cast aside! which on one hand i'm like okay this game is just being silly but also it does make me feel a lil bit bad for him tbh.... even though i do think he deserved some consequences for what he did (like i think all the antagonists do)

i definitely feel really sorry for mafia boss fans how dirty his character was done and i'm honestly all for people giving him more depth too. unfortunately i personally can't say what i think about the depth of his character is for me because if i'm honest, i don't really think much about him as a character on that level. but it really does suck that he's usually treated as just the butt of the joke by the game and not taken seriously as a character (despite the severity of his actions and also what he ends up being punished with)

You look straight at him.

[00:19] “...Fufu~ Can you see me? I guess I should say ‘nice to meet you’? I’m sorry for suddenly abducting you like that earlier~ However, it would have been difficult to take you away otherwise. I guess you could say it was the optimal timing? It really was my one chance.

...Say, are you the type who doesn’t watch television very often? Well, I guess you don’t strike me as a girl who would.”

You tilt your head to the side.

“Ah, no, I’m just talking to myself. I just figured that you’d probably recognize me if you watched TV every now and then. Not that it matters though.”

*Rustle*

[00:57] “But really, things went surprisingly well if I may say so myself. I’m sure those guys are frantically looking around for you right about now. After all, their precious little treat was snatched away from right underneath their nose, haha~! Fufu...Ahahaha! Just remembering those foolish expressions on their faces makes me laugh.”

“And I’m going to dig into their precious meal soon...Haah...Somehow just being this close to you makes my breath hitch.”

You start taking off your clothes.

“Anyway, if you’re just gonna bend to someone’s will in the end anyway, wouldn’t it be better to simply listen from the very start? Or did you want me to snap at you?”

You shake your head.

“Ah, I see! Right! You’re that kind of girl, aren’t you? You wanted me to lose my temper...so I’d treat you horribly, right? Fufu~ What an M-neko-chan you are~”

You seem confused by the nickname.

[04:03] “Hm? You want to know what ‘M-neko’ means? Isn’t that obvious? You’re more stupid than I thought. The ‘M’ is the same one as in ‘Do-M’, duh! Masochists, you know? You’re the type of girl who gets a kick out of the pain, aren’t you?”

“With that kind of personality, I can understand why you’d enjoy spending time with those guys. We’re capable of pleasing you in ways a regular human never could after all. Fufu...~ Is it true the pain is addictive?”

You try and explain.

You start to take off the rest of your clothes.

You tell him you’re done.

[06:08] “...Eh? You took them off? Now don’t be ridiculous. When I say ‘strip’, I obviously meant everything, right? You move your jacket to the side a little and call that ‘taking off your clothes’? Heeh...You really must be making fun of me, aren’t you? ...Listen, I hate being ridiculed more than anything...There are many girls in this world who would kill to be in this kind of situation with me, you know? Yet here you are, living that dream...”

hello icha!! as a celebration to getting thru drawing all of spring troupe for the first time I went through the a tag team for halloween event. honestly, I thought this event would be overshadowed by the knowledge that nocturnality is right after it (of which. funnily enough I’m actually not sure what the play is about? my bet is on gay vampires.) but this event… it was so good!!! like, it didn’t emotionally devastate me or anything but it was sooo good. such a cute ending too. but it gave me like so many thoughts so this message might get a lil long lol.

well first off the very moment tasuku showed up and was like “…” abt the Halloween event bc he was getting into his god troupe angst I was putting my hands together in prayer like. tasuku taichi as the center of this event please. and I was right! also I love how like. by now it feels like my thoughts sync up with a3 the gane quite often lol. like juza and hisoka got paired and I was like “they are just going to eat the candy” and banri immediately says that and then they do. someone suggests azuma be a demon and I was like “oh yea he’d be a sexy demon” and boom izumi says he will look seductive. oh one thing I did not agree with tho is during the improv battles someone was like “oh this mummy skit is so funny bc they both look like such tough guys!” which is like. okay omi I understand but tsuzuru looks like he could keel over with a strong wind. he’s got the whole delicate vibe abt him. and a side note i like to imagine yuki was like… hm I only have enough fabric for one mummy really… guess they’ll just be mostly topless. sakyo will be proud of my budgeting skills. jokes aside the whole spiderweb on tsuzurus face and the hand details. they’re good I checked out his ssr card and very much liked it.

anyways the true highlight of this event was quite obviously the taichi and tasuku dynamic and everything. I had a lot of thoughts so I’m just going to ramble. first off it’s really nice to get some more glimpses of how tasuku might have felt being in god troupe—I feel like he’s got this very heavy guilt associated with it and also I think he felt very. lonely. and since he was the Star of the troupe I also imagine he rly felt like yknow a little dehumanized. propped up as the top. what rly struck me was how while ppl like yuki and tenma r so whatever abt haruto, tasuku is like “fuck you. still not at the top, huh?” like immediate confrontation. he probably had a much more personal experience there after all. ah and with tasuku and taichi, what with taichi never really acting within the troupe, I was thinking about how like so much of winter act 1 is about acting with subtlety in comparison to how grand the god troupe is—that’s tsumugi’s style and when he tries to imitate tasuku is does not go well. i was also thinking abt like. tasukus role in that play… I mean he’s got his grand moments for sure but a lot of that character is just abt being quietly affectionate I think. and that’s subtle too. i think tasuku Can be grand but I do wonder if his acting was mb a lil stifled in god troupe…? anyways I bring this all up bc I think taichi’s style of acting is very the same way! he’s not powerful as in loud but I think his acting is very all abt charming you into how natural it is like. he’s very much a moodmaker to me? and that again is a much more subtle part of acting. i do think abt how like. taichi himself is pretty good at faking being cheery and with the whole being a spy and all for autumn troupe it’s like. well clearly he has some acting chops to pull that off. anyways all of this is to say. i really did like this event. it was nice to see taichi face it head on and I liked that he went straight for the top with the wizard costume and won! and the event cg is ADORABLE. also I was thinking abt tenma and sakuyas improv team and what they’d do and I realized. oh my god it’s Halloween. did tenma get too scared of a ghost to perform properly lmao

the fact you're synching up more and more with a3 is so nice. it's also a testament to a3's writing how, the characters are so specific you can expect "this" would be the best course to explore those characters, and then it is! Tasuku Taichi in focus was sooo good, the sweet tooth pair still makes me laugh, sexy sexy Azuma beloved…

this is genuinely so funny. Yuki arguing that them being shirtless is good for budget both because it means less fabric AND because it'll attract more people, Omi and Tsuzuru being "huh.. i'm not so s-" and Sakyo just being "no he's right, let him". The unlikely team up. But yeah the mummy designs are genuinely so good :sob: Tsuzuru looks so good especially.

Everything you say about Tasuku gets right to my feelings, you know how to speak to me so well. But yeah, man like. The isolation of being at the top and knowing you've been set up to crush the people around you by being there, even though you never wanted to be this high and you were prompted that high… Taichi especially directly suffered from it and Tasuku is so aware now of how much it broke him and how it pushed him to do horrible things that he just feels so guilty and it's just gnnnhhh Tasuku i love u. tho yes him imediately slamming Haruto was pretty funny. So i really love that once Tasuku understands Taichi's deal he immediately jumps on doing anything to have Taichi shine, even though Taichi didn't ask him to do that. Like, Taichi wanted to be the wizard but he never asked Tasuku to be the werewolf, it's Tasuku who, the moment he understood, went "i'll give Taichi exactly the night he wanted to have when we were at the Godza". And tbh Tasuku is so much better as a support actor (as in, how he works out specifically to help the person he supports shine) that it is just so good and satisfying.

And yes omg everything about Taichi's acting! He's just really great and you can also totally see how he doesn't fit the God Troupe AT ALL. One thing that strikes me too is that Taichi is especially good when he is reacting to the people around him and feeding off from what he's given. In the first Autumn play, he becomes really really good the moment all of Autumn tries to "outshine" each other and put themselves in a competition, but they therefore also feed on each other and each other's reaction, and Taichi's darkness moment especially was really a reflection of that. But in the Godza he was written off right from the start and never given an opportunity to even have this type of bouncing off with the other actors. I think Taichi both have the very subtle acting that Tsumugi also does so well, but also just how much he is so good at interreacting with others that this is how he shines and sublimes the people around him as well, so if you basically ask him to carry something solo (which is likely the way the Godza organized their audition) he will likely stumble a bit. Not to mention it does take him a moment to get into the heat of things, re: how long it took him to grasp how he wanted to play Zero. Which is good! that's what reharsal are for, to get a better vibe of your own character! but, compared to Tasuku who immediately can get into a role, this basically constantly work against Taichi. It's like the Godza is only seeking perfection and immediate Talent, but the thing is that Taichi stumbles a little /at FIRST/, you just need to let him figure out how to do it which he will do it more quickly than you expect (just like the yoyo tbh), that he's more subtle to start with so it makes for even more work to show it off, and that he's going to shine and make people shine brighter if you specifically let him improvise on the actors around him, which doesn't work for such a solo, isolated mindset in the Godza. (very slight spoiler but it is mentioned very much later down the line that the actors at Godza were basically discouraged from trying to talk with each other outside of the plays and befriend each other, and i can't see Taichi bloom in this situation.)

I'm just so happy Taichi went on and decided to indulge himself, and that Tasuku took one look at it and just, decided he'll be his support no matter what, it was really emotional and they worked so well together. I keep thinking about how, when you play the game, if you put Taichi and Tasuku in the same team, they have the team tag "They entered Heaven, not knowing it was Hell" and it's just, GOD, the imagery of that. THE CG WAS ADORABLEEEE

AND HELPPPPP. Tenma probably got scared shitless yeah. Rest in pieces sweetheart, you tried.

Also it makes me think, i probably mentioned it before because it makes me cry everytime, but in 2019 the A3 cast had a massive concert where they played the solos, group, and duet songs they've done so far (the duets too were made in full cosplay recreation of each play, it is incredible to watch). Point is, i still cry and think about how.

At some point Tsumugi's will have his solo, Keyword, on the stage, pouring out all of his emotions about taking this strength in and accept the spotlight and the support he got from Tasuku right? A song that ends also with this bit: "I’ll search for as long as it takes to reach a future with you / I won’t stop anymore; let’s tie these loose ends and walk together / These feelings I just couldn’t let go of / Will become the key that creates our next show" As he ends the song, he points to the audience, and there, only there, you see that on the special, recluse stage in the audience, Tasuku's VA is standing, smiling and pointing at Tsumugi on stage, sending the clear message "i'm the audience this time, go ahead and shine, i support you".

There, Tasuku has his own solo, Beyond the Wall, which is basically just him proclaiming how much he's going to support Tsumugi and everything, and especially about Tasuku making the effort to meet him halfway this time, that they have to work together ect... And then. Tasuku's Va ends the song, and then he points back to the stage;

Where Taichi's VA is on, taking the full spotlight, before he gets to sing Living The Dream. Which is this whole song about his mess of feelings, about how he wanted to be popular, his guilt about betraying everyone, how now he wants to work even harder to get to his dream. "Someone stop time / Make my dream come true /One day, to the other side of the dream / Yes; while gazing at everyone's backs /I learned the importance of the flow of time"

And it KILLS MEEEEEE because like, it sets up, as the live is made, Tasuku as taking the step back in the audience and asking YOU, the audience, to pay attention to Tsumugi AND Taichi, the two people who ended up crushed by him being on stage, and now he's there!! giving THEM the stage, giving THEM the spotlight!!

Froting in my mouth, POINT Is, i think about it everytime because this event also does it, but, they really set up Tasuku as just wanting to be the unconditional support for the two of them. and i'm crying. And i probably told this story before but indulge me in repeating it because i'll never be okay.

They looked adorable, and it should be enough for a perfect Halloween night, but Vasya insisted on also having matching costumes with him. 

At least she let him choose his own, although he didn’t put much effort into it. A few weeks ago, when she prompted the topic for the hundredth time, he just said he was going as Apollo. An old, yellowish bedsheet wrapped around his body and some dollar-store props would do the job. So there he was, looking like laundry, holding a plastic lyre and waiting for Vasya. 

She didn’t tell him what was her plan and instead made him wonder for two days how she was going to be dressed. He guessed it would also be some Greek deity. Maybe one of Apollo’s lovers? Hopefully not Daphne. Cyrene would be a better fit. 

“Alright!” She called again, jumping two stairs at a time down to his living room, giggling like a child. Halloween was her favourite holiday, after all. 

But when he turned around, she wasn’t wearing anything like a deity’s outfit. No bedsheet was contouring her body. There were leaves in her hair, but not a flower crown. She was dressed as—

Gods know what.

She had huge black goggles on top of her head, almost lost in the middle of curly hair along with two leaf-shaped antennas. Around her neck, she was wearing the furriest yellow scarf he’d ever seen in his life that matched the equally fluffy outfit. A cream-coloured crop top and shorts with a black pantyhose underneath, and a pair of knee-high hairy socks and matching long gloves. Still chuckling, Vasya turned on her heels, showing him the rest of her costume: huge fuzzy wings on her back. What the fuck.

“What do you think?” She asked.

Kent couldn’t answer. He wasn’t a guy of many words, but somehow he had even fewer ways of describing what he thought of it. “What are you—”

“I’m a moth! Not Mothman, just a regular moth. Vasya Wisemoth, if you will.”

“Why?” He couldn’t stop staring. Somehow, even dressed as an insect, she was still cute, but some primal instinct lost in the depths of the human mind was telling him that he shouldn’t trust her. Vasya was a tiny woman, but as a moth she was giant, and that can’t be right. 

“Oh, you know. You said you were going as Apollo, and by the way, you look great.” He tried to mumble thank you but she kept rambling, “So I thought of going as Daphne, but I don’t want to run from you or turn into a tree, so I thought perhaps Cyrene was a better option. But then I figured, Apollo among other things is the god of light, and moths are drawn to light! Isn’t it funny? Sometimes I have great ideas.”

As she spoke, her hands ran along her body, pointing details of her costume and fixing the fur. She explained what species of moth inspired it, a Venezuelan Poodle Moth, and how she made eighty per cent of the entire thing herself.

Kent approached her, confused but intrigued, and before his fight or flight instinct was triggered, he held her chin up to look at him. His eyes must have been intense as he frowned, since blood rushed to her cheeks as soon as her hazel irises met his. They were so close, enough for her furry scarf to tickle the exposed bits of skin of his chest, and for a moment neither had the courage to speak again. 

“Vasya—” he whispered, thumb almost reaching for her lower lip, and she looked like her heart was racing as much as his own, but his next words would make both of them burst into laughter. “Can I pet you?”

it's always frustrating when the villains actually have good points :/ as much as theyre bad and the innocent people theyve killed and chaos theyve wrought makes them hard to redeem (if that's what horikoshi's gonna try to achieve?), i cant say i disagree with their motive and hero society definitely needs to Be Better (but murder is 100000% NOT the way to go about it)

that being said, it strikes me as interesting that dabi is clearly aware of this fact and is weaponizing his choice to be irredeemable just for the sole fact of bringing endeavour down, like this guy cant help but revolve everything around his abuser, and was 100p ready to die using prominence burn if it was gonna take out endeavour (and shouto, probably) along with him

i hope we hear more of hawks's story; it's no wonder endeavour was his hero if his father was a villain that got put away by endeavour... i also wonder how exactly it ties in with him being trained from a young age, and if the commission really is as bad as the fandom suspects it is

going back to what im wondering about possible villain redemptions--i cant help but feel like i want them to be redeemed, but id probably also be bummed out about it because twice never got that :( like id love it if touya somehow ended up back with the todorokis and reconciling with shouto and that enji really is Better and they can all heal as a family, but im also not sure i can see it ever going that way and that this whole series wont end with all the villains dying (except possibly spinner and toga, who are still young enough that them deciding to side with the heroes wouldnt be as surprising--if spinner could see that there are heroes with physical mutation quirks that use it for good, if toga sees that izuku and ochako are willing to give her a chance... in contrast, i really dont see how touya, who clearly has such a personal vendetta and literal burning hatred for his father (and probably shouto), could decide it might be okay to turn sides, and at most i see him making a life-sacrificing move to choose to protect his father and/or brother (and/or his other family members, mb esp natsuo) after having some sort of epiphany and realizing maybe he doesn't want then to die)

after all this though, im still the most sad about twice :((( i really wish he couldve lived and healed and been happy and joined society and i know his life is one of the whole points about hero society not being the paragon that it paints itself but still

and i bet hawks is never gonna get over the fact that he had to kill twice too :'(

anyways cant wait for the next chapter but it's gonna be two weeks ahhhhh but im living for the todoroki drama and i really hope bakugou's hero name comes within the next three chapters

Polycule ask: who gives who flowers? Besides Mel ofc giving their partners really lovely and meaningful ones. I’m mostly saying this bc I adore the idea of Maia’s partners just... showering her in beautiful and lively things. Also because I feel in my heart of hearts that Simon’s train of thought about Raphael is: hm. He’s old fashioned and likes nice things, but I wouldn’t know what to buy him. I want to court him (someone, mb Izzy or Maia: court?? Why are you talking like that)... flowers! :)

ok so first of all yes meliorn like u said always gives them flowers, and they always get meliorn flowers as well because they know this means a lot in seelie culture so it’s always a nice gife/expression of love for her :)

i also have the headcanon that meliorn gets some flowers for taki’s, which idk if counts as Giving Her Partners Flowers, but i think it’s a cute touch that helps her be a part of taki’s considering she’s less in their realm than the others and doesn’t visit as much. also, she gets the most beautiful, sunny, wonderful flowers for them and they always fit the ambiance so well and it’s really nice :) they aso always have faint but good smells that both maia and raphael can appreciate and that won’t get in the way of their sensory issues and that are also allergy-proof because MAGIC okay. like it’s just :’) wonderful

and you are CORRECT, all the flowers for maia!!! i have particularly soft images of izzy getting maia flowers kind of awkwardly because this is not something she’s really done before except for meliorn, which was easier because she knows seelie flower language so all she had to do was put together a meaning and BAM! done. but for maia she has to make a Pretty Arrangement without having a sorta... meaning chart to go by or something, so that feels weirder somehow?? and she’s kind of lost and probably gets to maia’s all sheepish in a way that’s very uncharacteristic of her with roses and shit (she went to alec for help because they are that kind of siblings and alec is a traditional man so roses it was. also she will be teased FOREVER because of that, which is only fair considering how much she got on his ass). the bouquet is probably too big and maia laughs when she sees it but izzy has that huge smile and looks at her with those big imploring eyes of her like “do you like it?” tilting her head you know, and maia smiles and is like “yeah, i like it, you nerd” and izzy absolutely beams at her

but also!!!!!! simon!!!!!!! and i’ll get to simon getting raphael flowers in a second because boy i do love that image but SIMON GETTING MAIA FLOWERS okay. it’s probably a spur of the moment thing like he went past a flower shop and saw something pretty (im picturing yellow flowers just because...... maia in yellow.... the way it would POP on her and she would look so amazing and gorgeous and lively and just PERFECT ugh) and bought it on impulse so now he’s seeing her in their date that was probably like a movie date or something, you know, definitely not customary to bring flowers to those, and maia laughs and is like “what is this? we came here to watch the new star wars” and he’s like “yeah i know but i saw those on the way and just... thought of you” and she smiles and says “that’s pretty cute” and they kiss and it’s SOFT

also picturing he takes it to her at taki’s or something and raphael teases him like “what, none for me?” and he gets all flustered you know like “sorry i just uh i just saw those and i thought of maia, you know, because yellow suits her so well, and i didn’t think that uh, i didn’t stop to look at others for you, but i probably should have-” and raphael laughs like “simon, relax, you can save the flowers for another time” and simon is like “so you do want flowers! okay good!” and maia just giggles as she places her flowers somewhere safe at their anticts. GOD I LOVE SAIAPHAEL SO MUCH IT’S UNREAL

and of course raphael!!! raphael gets them all flowers. he is that guy. absolutely. he likes to Court. personalized bouquet arrangements he puts a lot of thought into, honestly. i mean of course with meliorn there’s flower language for even for maia and simon he just... he likes to pick something that he thinks suits/represents them even if he’s just going by Vibe. he is that guy who gets them flowers and gets behind them and shows them the petals and shit and like

for maia i’m picturing daylilies so he’s just... he gets behind her and she’s already touching the petals delicately kind of in awe because daylilies are pretty and he’s like “see this? they are fiery. vibrant. intense, but delicate. like you” and she smiles and he goes, “but you know what i like the most about daylilies? they attract butterflies.” and he pauses as she turns around to look at him, surprised, and he smiles at her before taking a breath and going, “you see, daylilies, they are beautiful, and they spread that beauty around. they grow together, and they help all the other flowers around them. they build a family. they care for others. just like you do. everywhere you go, you make things better, and maybe you don’t even realize it” because LOOK im a sap and hes a sap and maia has seen herself as lonely most of her life but the way she cares for her pack and everyone she sees who’s struggling is fierce and beautiful and i just!! it really suits her!! and maia is speechless and she ends up kind of nuzzling his neck and giving him a little kiss on the cheek and he’s like “i take it you like it” and she goes “of course i liked it” and aaa

and for simon... i picture sunflowers. idk i just think simon is a sunflower kinda guy. also you know haha daylighter and shit. but really tho it’s an intense attention-calling sort of flower without meaning to, but it’s also beautiful and vibrant and livens up the place, and it also has a delicate, kind of lonely side? like idk you don’t see sunflower bouquets a lot, usually it’s a single sunflower. and the literal Dark Part you know the black part in the centre that’s swallowed up by the vibrant yellow and that people tend to ignore but that’s also there? not in the sense that simon has a Dark Side, but he hides his sorrows and there’s so much more depth to him. i also like to picture he says something like... “you know, the sunflower turns during the day, trying to always keep close to the sun. but i don’t think it realizes that it has so much beauty of its own” and simon is so very pleased and a little speechless and raphael smiles at him and teases him all like “oh, so now you have nothing to say?”

but he gets his revenge when HE gets RAPHAEL flowers cuz no i didn’t forget!! and i know i wrote that paragraph but i like to think that the first time simon got raphael flowers, that had never been mentioned before and it was a complete surprise. that time was afterwards and he was just teasing him (and maybe fishing to get more flowers because look he’s only human). but the FIRST time they weren’t dating but they were.... getting there and simon was like “HOW can i woo raphael” and everyone else is like “stop saying woo for starters” and simon is like “whatever meliorn how did you woo raphael” and meliorn tells him about the whole flower language thing and how he used that to ask raphael out and simon is like FLOWERS! GREAT! and essentially runs off to get raphael some

so next time him and raphael have a not-date simon shows up with this probably massive and very extra bouquet with many many kinds of flowers and raphael’s eyes widen absurdly and he’s like “simon, what is this?” and simon’s all like “flowers! i didn’t know which flowers you liked, so i just got a bunch, i guess.” and he starts rambling about all the kinds of flowers that he got and their names and why he thought they might like it and is all like “but then i thought, maybe he’d be more into something smaller, so i figured i’d also get-” and raphael interrupts him all like “simon. what is this?” and simon stops for a second like he’s almost panicking and raphael softens all like “i like them all. i just want to understand” and he’s softly touching the petals because this is only the second time in his life that someone got him flowers and for meliorn it had slightly different connotations as it was a cultural thing - not that it’s less special or meaningful, just like, different - and he has this little bashful smile and he’s so pleased and simon kind of goes “i wanted to ask you to go out with me” y’know and it’s SWEET okay aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i can’t BELIEVE i’m saphael trash
