It was summer break for Abby, and by this point you and Mike had been dating for a few months.

Mike was… clingy to say the very least.

Not that you minded of course, you thought it was quite cute when he clung to your side at every oppurtunity.

It did interfere at times however...

Now was one of those times.

You sat beside abby at her desk, listening carefully as she explained each little bit of her drawing which was currently in progress.

A gentle smile formed on your lips, and you watched her carefully, your hand combing through her hair as she works.

She continued her rambles, and you cant help but chuckle at her eagerness.

A knock on abbys door tears you from your thoughts, yet abby doesn't flinch, continuing her work as you gently pat her back, telling her you'll be back in a moment.

When you open the door, you meet mikes tired gaze, and you frown a bit, stepping out and closing the door behind you. (to ensure abby's masterpiece making isnt disturbed)

"You ok my darling?" your voice asks, concern evident in your tone.

Mike nods, but it is hesitant, and he immediately begins to ramble nervously "it-its stupid nevermind" he whispers, sounding almost embarrassed as he turns on his heel to leave.

Your gentle hand reaches out to grab his own, eyebrows furrowing with concern.

"Its not stupid, talk to me mike, im here to listen" You say, your grasp on his arm gentle, yet enough to cause him to break.

He lets out a quiet sob, and you dont hesitate to pull him into your arms.

"Hey hey hey im here mike, im here, talk to me, ive got you" you say gently, one hand combing through his hair as he cries into your shoulder.

You let him cry, leading him to the living room couch where he rests his head on your shoulder as he sniffles.

"You wanna talk about it" you mumble, still caressing his hair

He nods softly, taking a few deep breaths to compose himself before he begins to speak.

"I-i- i wasnt g-given much attention as a kid... after garret a-after all my... my mom and d-dad were too wrapped u-up in their grief to... to care... there were nights w-when i had to cook my o-own dinner... i-i i didnt even know how... but burnt food was b-better than starving. even before the w-whole garret thing, he was t-their golden child" he says, taking in another shaky breath as he continues.

"Ever... ever since i started dating y-you... i felt... i felt loved... cared for... but s-sometimes i get... scared that... one day you'll just... stop caring. I-i mean you love abby s-so much- and i d-do too dont get m-me wrong... its s-stupid i know but s-some days i get scared abby w-will be just like garret... and you'll leave me like they did" he whispers, a bit embarassed by his jealousy of his younger sister.

Your face softens, and you pull away to cup his face with your gentle hands.

"Your problems are not stupid, and i love you so much mike, more than i think words can even portray, i will never, and i mean NEVER stop caring about you, you are my sun, moon, and stars, you know that?" you say gently, a smile on your face as you wipe any stray tears that escape his beautiful eyes.

"Im sorry it seems like ive been neglecting you for abby, that girl is just the sweetest and shes like a daughter to me, but never will i ever stop caring for you over her" you say eyes never leaving his own

he sniffles again, and another wave of tears takes over him as he engulfs you in his arms now, body shaking as you comfort him.

The two of you would be ok

It takes time to heal, but deep down mike knew that he had found a keeper, and he wouldnt want to heal with anyone else but you

Godzilla vs Kong: Brutally Honest Thoughts

(Took me long enough, eh? Depending on home video releases be like that.)

So first things first, I have a confession to make: I spoiled the movie before I watched it. I was impatient and they had only announced an HBO Max premiere in the states and a theatrical run in Canada at the time. Afterward, I got heads-up from a friend and immersed myself in the opinions of those lucky enough to see it early. I’m just saying that I have some preconceived opinions that I’m sticking to.

That said, Godzilla vs Kong turned out to be more fun than I expected! But you already knew that. Everyone did. The two kings of movie monsters had their rematch and this time it was with glorious Hollywood SFX powering it this time.

The human story was fun but it’s clear they stopped trying at this point. Team Kong stole my heart, especially Jia. Team Godzilla (although the Conspiracy Crew would be a more fitting term since they spend more time chasing down mysteries than trying to back or understand Godzilla) was more fun than I expected and their dynamic was surprisingly enjoyable. Bernie is actually kind of funny, it's nice to see Madison acting more assertive, and Josh was fine--he was the only sane man of the bunch but he was also the butt of the jokes. Still, all the hardcore conspiracy jokes got old fast and it feels off seeing the daughter of two scientists turn into an edgy conspiracy crackpot. Why not an edgy science major?

Team Apex are fun villains, especially Walter Simmons who's a great megalomaniacal CEO type, but Ren Serizawa is a joke. I like his actor's performance but he's just another footnote. Nobody bats an eye at his last name, although the only heroes he interacts with are Nathan Lind and he just misses Team Godzilla. He really could have just been any other villain, but instead, they had to sully Serizawa’s legacy further while robbing a good actor of some interesting material. (As is, it turns out he was just an egotistical jerk with daddy issues--an easy puzzle to solve on day one--after all...)

However, I still cannot and will not approve of the fact that somebody thought it would be a good idea to make the heroes of a sci-fi story into hardcore conspiracy theorists in this day and age. Likewise, I’m not a huge fan of how they essentially made the Hollow Earth into its own universe complete with a crazy portal and an environment with its own laws of physics, nor am I totally crazy about the huge leap in technology that was made between this and KOTM, or G’14 for that matter.

The monsters as awesome as they are, are the biggest mixed bag in the show.

Kong is at his best in ages, and while I am all for the new heroic warrior character that Legendary have crafted and I acknowledge that making him a worthy opponent for their god-tier Godzilla was going to be a hurdle, I think they did a splendid job. Seeing Kong using agility and acrobatics was a glorious sight to behold, and something about Kong becoming a tool-user and weapon wielder just feels right. It’s a far better demonstration of Kong as a “thinking animal” (*wink, wink*).

I’m much less thrilled about their treatment of his greatest opponent ever. After everything they’ve done to build up Godzilla as the incredible force of neutral good fighting to maintain balance and all the build up to ancient rivalry debating back to a great Titan war--even going as far as putting his name in front Kong’s this time!-- they’ve reduced Godzilla back to glorified bully for Kong. He only gets the minimum amount of sympathy from the cast of his movie before they go off to deal with the conspiracy plot or focus on Kong and the Hollow Earth. Worse still, he is somehow more powerful and more aggressive than ever for a good chunk of the movie which leads to an outcome I’m sorry to say we all saw coming. Somehow, I suspect that the reason behind this was how Wingard cited Godzilla vs. Mothra, vs. Destoryah, and Shin-Godzilla as influences for the monsters scale and story, which while cool and all, are all movies where he was played up as a mostly stoic antagonist rather than a three-dimensional character like Kong. (Though ironically vs. Destoroyah and Shin did a better job of making Godzilla feel more sympathetic and in both of them he was a walking nuclear reactor meltdown.)

Due to the unfortunate time constraints of the three-way deal between Toho, WB, and Universal at the time this was in production, Kong was unable to secure a proper sequel that could develop his skillset like Godzilla’s did. Nevermind the fact the filmmakers completely surrendered to the “nothing matters but the monsters” mentality that a chunk of the fanbase has been spouting since this universe unofficially kicked off almost 10 years ago. (Sidenote: Oh god, I’m turning in an old fart already.) As a result, the movie trips over itself trying to set up Godzilla and Kong’s rivalry as well as building up Kong as a worthy opponent to Godzilla while expanding on their shared lore, and as a result countless plot points set up in in the previous movie and tie-in movie are thrown out the window. I’m sorry to say but in spite of all hopes and illusions of grandeur, it’s safe to this damn thing is a Kong movie with Godzilla as the bad guy.

...at least until HE shows up. Yup, Mechagodzilla. The biggest spoiled twist of the centuries steals the show so the movie can pull a Dawn of Justice. But! It does it much better than the fractured DCEU’s most controversial entry ever could. Mechagodzilla’s inclusion gets a decent amount of build up thanks to Team Godzilla/the Conspiracy Crew, and when he shows up, does he make an impression! At first, I wasn’t sure how to feel about his inclusion or his design, but I’ve come to like this one. He’s basically a kaiju terminator built in Godzilla’s image made purely out of heavy machinery piloted by the best Ghidorah head. It’s a jarring change of pace compared to previous MechaG’s but it grows on you after a while. With the abundance of weaponry stuffed into him, he feels like a fitting update of the original killing machine, and even if his inclusion feels like an easy way out of the big showdown, it’s fun to see him played as a literal colossal heel for the kings to team up against. Not to mention he looks shockingly good with those red highlights. However, one still can’t help but wonder how and why he was made in this universe, or how he feels like pure heavy machinery one minute and then an extra-large Ultron unit the next.

As for the the big throwdowns we’ve all been waiting for... well, we’re still in the mixed bag deparment. While the fights are all exciting and excellently choreographed, and benefit from some more eclectic lighting and cinematograph, I’m sorry to say that as far as the rematch of the century goes they dropped the ball on this one.

Don’t get me wrong, the fights are all great in their own ways, but there’s a drastic change in the feeling of weight and power with the monsters. Godzilla, Kong, and even Mechagodzilla all feel strangely floaty in most of their fights. One moments they feel like true behemoths shaking the very earth with every movement and then it’s like they’re in Godzilla Unleashed, running, jumping, and throwing each other around with speed that feels that almost makes you wonder if the Hollow Earth’s gravity inversion stuff is leaking out into the world. While it’s all perfectly cool, you can’t help but wonder how Kong is able to leap between aircraft carriers and buildings, when Godzilla got the ability to blow a hole through the Earth itself, or how a colossal machine is able to move so nimbly or why it has to be flashing blue all the time.

It’s fascinating and fun but you just can’t help but wonder how we got from almost posthuman disaster and war movies exploring how we’re at the mercy of the ancient almost mythical forces beyond our comprehension, we’ve found ourselves smack dab in the middle of Bayformers meets Jurassic World levels of Hollywood absurdity where anything and everything can and will happen in the name of getting to the monster fights. Although I can’t say I’m surprised given the director’s take on Death Note made some questionable choices with it’s take on the infamous cast while still coming up with some genuinely inspired choices. Still, all things considered we could have gotten worse compared to ther cinematic universes made by WB and Universal.

As for some misc. thoughts to close up this rambling mess:

-The soundtrack is fantastic. A great continuation of the feel of Skull Island’s mixtape with some truly wonderful picks. Special mention goes to the opening and ending songs, and they GOT AN ELVIS PRESLEY SONG IN HERE! YES!!! The three kings of pop culture together at last!

-While this movie didn’t need to be any more overstuffed, it would have been nice if the rest of the Titans didn’t disappear entirely from this movie. I get that Godzilla: Dominion already explained what happened to them all more or less, but it really is a missed oppurtunity that we never got to see another Titan war. Or Rodan attacking Kong to avenge his pterosaur bretheren from days long past. Speaking of which...

-“Save Mothra” jokes be damned, Mothra would have been a welcome gues star, not just to help break up the big fight, but to show off Godzilla’s softer, more protective side. And yes, I want more Mothzilla. Shut up, we deserve it.

-Boy, Monarch sure does a whole lot of nothing up-top, huh?

-The cinematography is a great update but there’s a little too much neon lighting, especially in the Apex HQ and the Hollow Earth throne room. It feels like they’re trying just a little too hard to sell the more futuristic, Hollywood sci-fi feel.

-The score is... great but not that great. Of course, I’ve always had mixed feelings about Tom Holkenburg (AKA Junkie XL)’s music. I liked Kong’s themes, but they REALLY dropped the ball with Godzilla’s theme. Mechagodzilla’s works really well as long you ignore that it’s just Godzilla’s theme in this movie with an ominious choir added in.

-The new Hollow Earth creatures are all perfectly fine. Actually, I thought they were another highlight! Especially the Warbats, Hellhawks, and Doug the Titanus Foetodon Man.

-I want to do a release the extended cut campaign but I don’t think any of us have the energy for that s**t anymore.

albedo gives me the vibes of someone who would absolutely love their s/o's voice! he always lets you ramble even while he works on an experiment, never interrupting or talking unless you asked a question. you might think he's only doing that cause he thinks you're too talkative but doesn't want to seem mean to you, but really your voice soothes him and helps him focus a bit better. (sometimes though it distracts him cause you just sound that relaxing to him)

hello?? so many of your likes reminded me of albedo right off the bat! although it seems unlikely, there was a few amount of times he took a quick pause from his work to bring you outside to watch the sunset. and klee too if she wants to join! (imagine the both of you standing and klee just between the both of you, holding two of her favorite people's hands <3) bonus: if there would ever be a time where you couldn't sleep, he would probably read a bedtime story to you since it worked for klee before.

oh my goodness. rainy days. rainy days where you are stuck indoors with albedo and seated in front of him to watch as he works. he's not used to you being so close, and seeing you look so invested and impressed by his research makes his cheeks heat up (but is albedo complaining? never.)

modern au first date with albedo at a cafe! he ends up being so a bit awkward but he keeps trying cause it's only been half an hour and he's very much interested in you. if it's a cafe you've been to before, he asks what you like best on the menu and orders that! (to yk.. know you a bit better when you guys possibly date in the future 😌) at the end of the day, he doesn't let you get a say and pays the bill before you can, then outright tells you that he had fun and wouldn't mind if you guys wanted to go for a second date. he talks very formally with you but as time goes by, he lets himself be comfortable in your presence :)

Today is just an ordinary day where you get ready to go to school and walk in the hallway to your classroom. The only difference this time is you’re already in your last year of high school. As you enter your classroom, you greeted your other classmates as walk towards to your seats which beside the window. You took your seat there and took out your notes for the first subject then put it on your desk to prepare for your first subject. You leaned your left elbow on your desk then rest your chin on your left hand and your right warm is laying on the table as your fingers are lightly tapping along the beat you’re listening too. Later on, as you listen to your playlist, a brown headed guy greeted you as he took his seat besides you.

“Good morning, y/n~” he greeted you as soon as he sat beside you and shows you his famous broad smile.

“Good morning too, Oikawa” you greeted back and also gave him a soft smile. He is wearing a pale lilac shirt with a red tie and cream sweater vest partnered with a light brown slacks with a dark brown details that’s similar to your skirt. He is also wearing a white blazer that’s same as yours. 

You have been in the same class with Oikawa for 3 years, and for the past 3 years, you always see him with Iwaizumi.  At first, you thought they are just very close since you heard that they grew up together. But as the time went by, you can’t help but assume that they are actually dating. Even though, you see Oikawa flirts with your other girl classmates, and hear rumours that he has a girlfriend, you still assume that he is dating Iwaizumi. There are small rumours you heard about him flirting with other girls so he can hide his relationship with his best friend. Nevertheless, you didn’t give it much attention because you just lowkey ship the two. 

You notice that he is wearing his glasses today instead of contacts and for your own opinion, him wearing his prescription glasses is way more attractive. 

“it’s really quite strange seeing you wearing your prescription glasses.” you commented as you stare on his face. Oikawa paused for a moment from what he was doing and suddenly his face feels hot. It didn’t slipped from your gaze on how a hint of pink shows on his face. Oikawa released a gawky chuckled as he collected himself then flirtatiously looks at you.

“Is this your way of telling me that you find me attractive?” he said as he sent you off a flirtatious smirk. You scoffed at him and rolled your eyes then says “As if!” smirk plastered on your face.

You and Oikawa are not invisible to each other, the two of you talk and jokes around each other but you guys are not close. Mostly the two of you only talk inside the classroom and only greet each other when you see each other in the hallway. You actually want to ask him if he and Iwaizumi are actually dating, but you don’t want offend him and you are not the type of person who sticks their nose into someone’s business.

The day went on like any other day, new lectures were taught to the class, the teachers are adding more school works to the piled up home works and projects that were already given beforehand. Nothing extraordinary thing happened today in school, except for your calculus teacher that surprised the whole class with 5 items and worth 25 points quiz at the end of the session. You’re really not fond of your calculus teacher, you think he had a bitter childhood experience that’s why he is like acting so terror in your class.

You’re now walking on the way house, with an earphones plug in both of your years and your head was bobbing lightly, feeling the music that you are currently listening to. As you walk on the path towards your home, you notice two familiar tall figures that wears the your school’s uniform. You walked a little bit closely but not too close for you to get notice by those two people. The music that was playing in your earphones earlier were gone as you quietly stood on your spot and observe those two figures. You learned that those two familiar figures are the vice captain and the captain of  the boy’s volleyball club. 

You observed the two them talk to each other and it seems like the two were having an intense argument. With the way how Oikawa’s brows frown and how Iwaizumi looks at him with an intense glare. You see them talk to each other but you didn’t hear anything of what they’re actually talking about. It didn’t took a while, when Iwaizumi walked away and left Oikawa, who have his head down and fist clenching. From your perspective, he seems like he is holding himself from bursting out or do anything that would catch anyone’s attention. You wanted to walk towards him and tell him it’s gonna be okay but you think that you’re not in the place to say it to him. You don’t have that much experience in relationship and the two of you barely talk outside the classroom. 

Oikawa stayed on his position for a couple of minutes before he released a deep sigh to calm his self and looks up the sky with his eyes close. While he stays in that kind of position, he felt like someone was looking at him, so he opened his eyes looks at your direction. You shrieked when the two of you made an eye contact, so you immediately turn your back to his and started walking away. You thought of just going to another route instead of facing him. 

“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” you mumbled as you walk fast and hit your head with your knuckles.

“You should have walked away when as soon as you saw him and Iwaizumi having an intense talk. But you didn’t and he saw you looking at him.” you scold yourself while you hold your palm out which you do when you’re frustrated or irritated by something. 

“Now he thinks I’m his creepy classmates who stalks him on his way home” You rambled then exhaled disappointingly, thinking that Oikawa will stop talking to you and will distant himself from you. 

While you’re silently walking, your earphones are now inside the pocket of your blazer along with your phone, you suddenly here someone calls your name which made your eyes widen and make you walk faster again. You don’t need to look back to know who’s that person because you know that the owner of the voice is Oikawa. You can still hear him calling your name so you walk even faster, you turn your head only to see him getting closer to you. Your eyes grew even wider, so you started to run thinking that he might lose you in his sight. But with him having a longer limbs, he had easily catch up to you and reached out one of his hand to hold your shoulder. 

The two of you stopped running, his hand was still gripping your shoulders while you didn’t move to turn around and face him. You’re just there standing chasing for your breathe and thinking of what you would say when he ask about what you’re doing earlier. Oikawa looks at your back as he tries to chase his breathe from running after you, he then turns your around to face him and rest both of his hand on both sides of your shoulders. He looks down on your face trying to have an eye contact with you but you avoided it by looking down at your hands that was fidgeting on the hem of your blazer. 

“Hey y/n—” before he could even start talking, you bowed to him 90 degrees and and started rambling on how sorry you are from not minding your own business.

“I’m sorry for meddling around while you and Iwaizumi-san having a talk earlier. I promise to you that I didn’t hear anything and I’m not stalking you and Iwaizumi-san. Please forgive me! and It’s okay if you will stop talking to me during classes anymore as long as your forgive me, Oikawa-san” you jabbered still bowing to him. Oikawa looks at you in daze, trying to process the words you just rambled out to him. 

“It’s okay, Y/n-san no need to apologize. I know you were not there intentionally, in fact, I think we’re the one who’s at fault because we’re arguing in the middle of the side walk, we should have done it in a more private area” he said as he gaze down on his feet and clenches his fists when he remembered what they were arguing about earlier. You saw how his fist tightens which make his knuckles turns white, you stood up straight then look at Oikawa who’s gaze is still on his feet. 

You looked at him with empathy and suddenly felt conflicted as you thought of comforting and asking what he is feeling right now. You wanted to ask him if he is okay, or if he wanted to be accompany by you.

“I’m fine, y/n, no need to worry” his voice stopped your train of thoughts and you looked at him and see him smiling brightly to you. 

“eh?! did I say it out loud?” you stuttered as you lowkey starting to freak out and turn your gaze away from him. He nodded to you to answer your question and let out a chuckled. 

“It is also okay if we walk together to our home since we have the same route” he uttered which made you squeak. You wanted to be swallowed by the ground as your embarrassment built up inside your body and just suddenly vanished in front of him. But that feeling was set aside when you processed what he just said to you. 

“uhm, how did you know that it’s the path to my house” you quietly asks him as you play with the hem of the sleeves of your blazer. 

“oh, I sometimes see you walk alone on your way home and sometimes when you’re about to walk on the way to school.” He explained as he stares at you and hid his two hands inside the pocket of his slacks. You just nodded slowly as answer then silence surrounded the two of you. 

You look around your surroundings but not him. You still feel embarrass and starting to feel awkward around him. Oikawa looks at you and finds your shyness towards him adorable. The way your cheeks have faded pink and your lips are slightly pouting as you look around. He can help but feel a slight pang in his heart as he stares at your beautiful face. A soft grin was now plastered on his as turn his gaze away from you and looks up to the sky. 

The sun is slowly setting and the two of you needs to go home before it goes dark. 

“Let’s go y/n-san” he said as he looks at you with a soft smile. You just nodded at him and the two of you started walking side by side. 

The walk on the way to your house was quiet and it’s slightly awkward. The hasn’t fully set but the sky is now color purple. The only thing that can heard are the tapping of the shoes on the ground as the two of you walk. The two of you only give each other some side glances when one is not looking but didn’t conversed.

You took a glimpse on Oikawa, who’s walking beside you, and see that he is in dazed. You can see the uneasiness on his face and sadness even though he is looking ahead. You let out a sigh and felt bad for him, it’s not easy to have a quarrel with your boyfriend but it makes your relationship stronger right? You took a glance to him once again before you started talking to him.

“I know I’m not in the place to say this to you since we’re not even close and we only interact inside the classroom but I want you to say that everything’s gonna be okay.” You said and pursed your lips. Oikawa looks at you then turn his gaze down on his feet and nodded slightly. 

“It’s normal to have a misunderstanding with someone, especially in couples right?” you said as you look straight ahead. Meanwhile, Oikawa’s eyes widened then whipped his head to you. His jaw dropped and he could feel his body trembling. 

“w-what?! we are not–” Oikawa tries to deny it but you stopped him and look him with a soft smile on your face. 

“It’s fine, Oikawa-san! You don’t need to worry, I will be quiet about your relationship with Iwaizumi” You assured him so he won’t freaked out. 

“y/n-san, we are not a couple” he tries to deny it again but your ears are closed. You let out a sigh and gave Oikawa a reassuring smile. 

“I know, our world is full of judgments. There are people who are close minded and disgusts relationships like you have with Iwaizumi. And those kind of people are the one should be ashamed on. I know it’s very hard for the two of you and both of you want to keep it secret, so don’t worry my mouth are zipped” you told him then act like you’re zipping your mouth shut. 

Oikawa didn’t say anything because he was still dumbfounded from what you just say and his brain suddenly stopped working. He didn’t know how to explain it you, even though it’s easy to say that he is not dating Iwaizumi but you won’t even listen to him, for goodness sake. He just gazed at you, feeling his soul just left his body.

You again look straight ahead and finally saw your house, so you looked at Oikawa and told him that your house is there. 

“My house is there, Oikawa-san, thank you for walking with me!” you thanked him. You stopped walking then looks at him with a reassuring smile plastered on your face, meanwhile, he looks at you soullessly.

“I hope you and Iwaizumi would make up! I promise to keep your secret safe” you promised as you lift your pinky finger. Oikawa was still in dazed and just unconsciously nodded and raises his pinky finger too as he quietly said “Promise”

You gave him a last wave before you started walkiing towards your house and leave a dumbfounded Oikawa on the side streets.

Guinevere is a noblewoman, ward of King Bayard, married off to Prince Arthur of Camelot in a political alliance. Arthur is brash and arrogant, but he is also noble and true and genuinely cares, and Guinevere thinks she could love him, if only she had been given a choice. As is she feels stifled and trapped, stuck in a loveless marriage and given no more to do than be fussed over by maids and embroider. So she runs. Goes to the Darkling Woods, where no one dares venture for fear of the witch Morgan le Fay, a powerful, vindictive sorceress. Guinevere fears the witch, but she wants out more, and no soldier of Camelot or Mercia would dare enter her woods. But in the forest, Guinevere finds no vindictive witch, just a worn down woman who introduces herself as Morgana. Guinevere knows she has likely just met the witch, but Morgana doesn’t seem malicious, just tired and lonely. Still, Guinevere doesn’t want to invoke her wrath as the Prince’s wife, and she wants to be free of the expectations and limitations that hound her, so Guinevere introduces herself simply as Gwen, a name she has not been called since her parents died and Elyan ran off.

And so, with the passing of the seasons, the witch and the noblewoman fall in love.

Gwen learning to trust and love magic. She has no magical ability herself, but she helps Morgana with physical preparations of spells and potions, and her enthusiasm helps Morgana find her abilities beautiful once more.

On the subject of magic, Morgana sets up a spell that allows only those who mean no harm and those in need of help to find their home.

This means they act as a haven for those in need, and though no one stays, they leave with their well being ensured and a memory of kindness

Gwen looking herself using the water, wearing worn, threadbare clothes, hair shorter and pulled back simply, and realizing that she likes her reflection more like this, watery and distorted as it is, than she ever did when she wore elaborate gowns and had long hair in complicated updos and looked at herself in an expensive, perfectly reflective mirror.

Also relating to water, there’s the awkward bathing together thing and sneaking glances at each other before turning away with burning cheeks

Trips to the city rarely and in disguise, but when they do go they have fun with shopping

Universe-wise, Gwen has taken on Morgana’s role here a bit as the orphaned ward of a king. Her mother died when she was young, and her brother left to experience adventure and learn a craft (hi, Elyan), so when her father died, she was taken in by Bayard, an old friend of her father’s, who then married her off for political gain.

Morgana is Uther’s bastard child, and her mother was a commoner rather than a noblewoman. She was kept around as Gaius’s assistant, neither she nor Arthur knowing of their shared blood. When her nightmares start up, Gaius sends her away to train with Morgause, who teaches her hatred as well as spellcraft. Somehow or another, they learn of Morgana’s parentage, and Morgause takes this as an oppurtunity to take the throne and hatches a plan. Morgana, meanwhile begins to dream of Arthur’s death at Morgause’s hand, and though they were not equals, they had grown up together and developed an odd sort of friendship, and she finds she does not want to see him hurt. She tries to talk Morgause out of her plan, to change it so only Uther suffers and none of the townspeople or Arthur, but Morgause is out for blood and will not be swayed. So Morgana does what she can to thwart Morgause’s schemes and runs. She finds refuge among the druids, but Uther sends a raid to slaughter them, and Morgana finds herself a target when she uses magic to defend herself. She runs off to hide in the woods, where she fights off bandits and knights, and soon she makes a name for herself as the witch of the Darkling Woods, which is how Gwen finds her at the start of the tale

(But back to the Morgwen)

Gwen’s never done any practical sewing before, but she learns, and this is how they come by their disguises and non suspicious clothing

Merlin definitely ends up taking refuge with them once he gets found out, and Arthur follows. He finds them, which is how they know Arthur means no harm even if Arthur himself doesn’t

I imagine they assist all the knights at various points, so when Merlin and Arthur stumble in and the four of them (once all the angsting and shouting of a magic reveal and the awkwardness of finding your runaway wife in a relationship with your runaway sister subsides, at least) decide to take down Uther and usher in an age of magic and prosperity and not killing people, thanks, they call the knights to them to help

Uther is defeated and Arthur is king and the Golden Age is ushered in and Morgana and Gwen are very happy together the end

[7:04 pm] You tried best you could not to look at him during your groups performance. Although, during your part in which you had to look over at the right side of the audience, AKA where Xiaojun and the rest of WayV were sitting, you managed to sneak a glance and a small smile at his beaming, obviously very proud face.

During WayV’s medley performance of Moonwalk to Love Talk, you couldn’t take your eyes off of idolboyfriend!Xiaojun the entire time. You adored how freely he moved in the choreography, how effortless he made the increasingly complex movements look- not mentioning how utterly gobsmacked you were at his jaw-dropping highnote. It was at these moments you couldn’t believe he was yours, and you were his.

After the rest of the groups had performed, you were all given a break to calculate the final numbers before the trophies were awarded, which you were all heavily grateful for as it gave you an oppurtunity to catch your breath before going back on stage.

You, of course, took this time to sneakily make your way to WayV’s dressing room. You didn’t need the sign that displayed the groups logo and name outside the door, you could easily hear their distinct voices a mile away.

You knocked on the door to be met with Kun, he smiled at you slightly before letting you into the dressing room, not needing more than a second to know why you were here.

As soon as Xiaojun looked up and met eyes with you, he sprang out of his seat and wrapped you in a warm hug, only pulling back to look into your eyes and press a small kiss on your cheek since your lips were still adorned in ruby-red lipstick.

“Y/n, your performance was amazing! The whole time I was thinking; ‘that’s my baby!!’”

You giggled at his adorable rambling, “Thank you, Junnie, your performance was perfect as always!”

“You know we’re here too, right?” You looked behind Xiaojun to see a visibly disguted Ten with one eyebrow cocked.

“You should be getting back, Y/n,” Kun started, “they’ll be calling five minutes to stage soon, and I don’t believe you’ll want them catching you in here..” he chuckled before you pouted and looked back to Xiaojun.

“I’ll see you after?” You said with a hopeful smile

“Always, baby.” he pecked your lips and gently pushed you out the door before you could protest about your lipstick.

Before long, all groups were gathered on the stage while the mcs announced the various awards, you were barely paying attention until they announced ‘best comeback song.’ (is that a category? I don’t watch music shows sO IT IS NOW)

A painful silence followed, air thick with tension until a loud ‘WayV!’ came from the mc and the boys erupted into jumping, cheering, tears, or all three.

You, on the other hand, were estatic. Jumping up and down on the spot, clapping and cheering for Xiaojun and the other boys, your cheers being drowned out by the people you were surrounded with.

You were too wrapped up in your excitement that you hadn’t noticed everyone else, and the rest of your group, leave the stage.

“Whoo, Xiaojun! You go, baby! That’s my boyfriend-!” You opened your eyes to see the boys giving you panicked glances while the entire audience stared at you. “..right.. there..” you finished quietly.

You looked right at Xiaojun who looked like he’d just seen a ghost, you sent him a sheepish smile while you tilted your head, “uh.. congratulations?”

(1/ ?)OMG so I saw your post about wheelchair bound Jason in the finale (the abo one where Jaydick is the couple) and I am so glad more people are on the train now because I have been writing drabbles of it for just about 2 weeks now after I have been stalking ao3's Titans(2018) fandom tag for it and gotten absolutely nothing but a few offhanded non-specific mentions. Which tbh why no love for this very whumpable and character development heavy oppurtunity?

(I am asking the same question, why not more of that:O)

(2/?) I mean if you think Babs loosing her legs was bad for her Jason's trauma and distraughtness would be way more severe. For him not being able to run or get away from somewhere unaided meant death or enforced prostitution growing up. Also just think about Jason becoming some sort of Oracle esc hero. The boy is SMART he could do it- he mastered computer science at 12 with what is implied to be only a very young elementary school education in his robin run!

(I think the writers put him in the wheelchair as some sort of a callback to Barbara - as she’s missing from the Titans comlpetely as far as I know;[ so it might have been a hint hint)

(3/?) my current favorite take on the Jaydick finale dream au is this scenario[ that I have started writing... I think I have a problem...]: J is an omega and he and Dick are mates and they have Johnny. Jay is still robin and Dick and Johnny live in the 'haven suburbs with Jason making commutes from their to Gotham and being home most nights for baby-bedtime regularly. Finale plays out and Jay gets shot- when he wakes up he gets the prognosis, alfred has DIED gordon is missing and   

(4/?) and SURPISE you will never walk again and also CONGRATULATIONS you are several weeks pregnant! Jay comes home in a wheelchair by himself (he isnt even supposed to leave the hospital but they leave him with an computer/phone thing from B and the wheelchair so he hightails it out of there) Dick carries him inside and does the usual routine of: mate on couch, collected pile of laundry and softness given to mate, get pup for mate and 

(5/?) things don't go well- Johnny doesn't understand why mommy won't play with him and what is happening and thinks Jason's noncompliance with customary-welcome-home-footsie means Jason HATES him now and Dick doesn't know what to do: "So after the heart breaking time that was ‘bed-time’. (It had started out fine, Johnny adored Jay and didn’t mind doing things out of order as Jay read to him on the couch instead of on the edge of his bed like it always happened [At this sudden acceptance Jason"

Only getting bad when Johnny tried to initiate the customary ‘welcome home i missed you’ game of footsie with Dick’s co-parent and being upset when Jay didn’t return the favor [Jason had looked like someone had shot his new puppy in front of him]Then things- as things tend to do -got even worse. Johnny couldn’t understand why Jason couldn’t carry/dance him into bed -"

IC OUTFITS FOR ONYX  tagged by @manawalls​ <3 thank you! Since I don’t rp her I don’t really have “rp outfits” but I thought I could go and show her IC-WOL Outfits from 2.0-4.0 ! ( plus some extras in the bottom row ) - rambling under the cut

First row is Onyx, the very silent adventurer with no name to her, not good at socializing, quite skilled as a pugilist. a fresh little 2.0 babe. The second one is what I consider her canon outfit until lvl 50/2.0 finale. Same with the third. She used to be loyal to Raubahn and the Flames. Next to the scions, it gave her a place, a reason to fight, a possibility to use her strength to help those she cares about. Second row: First picture is pretty much her IC outfit for 2.1-2.5.; it’s still a very iconic Onyx outfit for me! The following one was used for 3.0, even though the 50 MNK gear seems more fit for thanalan’s temperature. I had to give her some leggins instead of the shorts; Onyx /really/ had a hard time adjusting to coerthas’ temperatures... ...But, given she’s my WoL character, and given their bond with Ishgard, that’s what became of her. Third one is my current glamour, and even though I started 4.0 with her, which gave me thousands of oppurtunities for nice MNK outfits, the Ishgardian style won. It’s where her heart is now. It’s home.  ...It’s weird to see her in anything that isn’t monk-ish yellow, but we both really love the new outfit.\o/ To me it also shows the development from “adventurer arrives in ul’dah and thus feels connected to actual hero of the dragonsong war” and how it made her see things in different ways & ultimately GROW into her own person, something she wasn’t fully ready to do with the scions. the crown is a very essential accessory in Onyx IC design ~
