Prepare for the unexpected. (DPxDC)
Everyone knew about the reign of Pariah Dark. Even those who did not dabble in those realms have heard the tale of the tyrant. A power-hungry man who ruled over the dead with an iron fist.
Following the rise of Pariah Dark, his realm had been effectively cut off from communication. Many mystics and magic users knew better than to open the door of nightmares that could arise if Pariah Dark's reach went further than his own realm.
Except, the universe had plans to bring the realm of the dead back into the cards.
A new opponent, one that had all of Earth's heroes scrambling for options. A being with powers of a god over weather, destruction was on the horizon. A world ending threat.
It's the only reason the Justice League was doing this. In a deep bunker, far from close civilization as a precaution, the heroes looked on with grim expressions.
The world was already being threatened. It would be destroyed regardless of what the league did. So it only made sense to make the last ditch effort. To summon someone strong enough to defeat the threat.
No one wanted to do it. No one wanted to be the one to pull the realm of the dead back to the living. The consequences were untold if this succeeded. If Pariah Dark was freed and defeated the threat, whose to say he won't want control?
That was a problem for later. For the aftermath. For now, the league could only watch on with bated breath as Constantine completely the summon ritual.
They watched on as the shadows in the room seemed to darken and grow. As the sigil sputtered to life with a glow that was growing increasingly brighter. A sudden gust of wind rushed through the room, the temperature began to drop with eaching ticking second.
And then it was all gone.
The room stood perfectly still. Just as it had been moments before. Nothing changed. No giant king standing before them, no sign that the ritual worked.
The room stood deadly still for another beat before the murmurs started. The team trying to make sense of the situation, figure out what went wrong.
Constantine swore up and down that this was the correct ritual, taking offense that they would even think the problem was on his end. It only made it better when it finally happened.
A loud sound ripped through the room, pulling everyone's attention back to the summoning circle. Just in time to see a tear appear in the space above the circle.
A thin tear that ran the length of eight feet. The fabric of the dimension seems to curl at the edges, pulling back to reveal a deep glowing swirl of greens. A dark gloved hand reached through, fingers curling around the edge of the tear, stretching it even further.
A portal. The ritual had worked, but there had been a delay. A delay that had every hero nerves on edge. Each team member tensed, weapons at the ready as they watched the being stretch the portal to the right size.
Then, a foot stepped out with a heavy thud. A dark boot that looked otherworldly despite its similarity to mortal clothing. A deep black that seemed never-ending. A second foot quickly followed before a full body emerged from the portal.
Not many people in the room have ever seen Pariah Dark, let alone know what to expect. Based on what Constantine and Zatara had said, this wasn't Pariah Dark.
A man had stepped out of the portal, standing at almost seven feet tall, and built like a brick house. One glance at the glowing white hair, deadly red eyes, and shard teeth was enough to know this being was not to be messed with.
But there was no giant show of armor or royal garbs. There is no large crown at the top of his head or jewelry from the infinite realms laced around his neck.
Instead, the man stood before them in combat boots, worn-in ripped jeans, a graphic t-shirt, and a spiked leather jacket. Despite his almost normal clothing choice, the man's jacket seemed to be a never-ending depth of the dark night sky. If one was to look closely enough, the cosmos could almost be made out in the sea of darkness.
None of that would have prepared them for when the man spoke. His tone sounded more bored than anything as he took a step forward.
"Oh, so now you need the help of the dead." The man had spoken, running a hand through his hair. When Batman took a step forward to speak, the man raised a hand. Immediately commanding silence in the single gesture. "I'm on babysitting duty and have yet to have a cup of coffee. I'll be right back."
Just like that, both the man and portal vanished into thin air. Leaving behind a group of stunned heroes. Not only was the man not Pariah Dark, but he was also supposedly babysitting.
"Did that just-"
The Flash had been the first voice to speak up, his eyes trained on where the man had once stood. Except he had barely made it through the first few words before the man was suddenly back.
The man that now had a child hanging off his shoulders and another teen being held up by his scruff. Unlike the man, these kids looked human.
Too human for Bruce's liking. The dark black hair and bright blue eyes had every heroes eyes flickering to Batman for just the briefest moment.
"This isn't fair! I'm not even the king. Why do I have to be here!" The teenager had been complaining the moment the man had reappeared. Arms crossed tight over his chest and seemingly used to being held dangling. "Besides, who brings kids to a show down! Wait til I tell mom about this."
"Aw, come on, Danny. This is gonna be fun!!" The younger girl seemed in much better spirits than the teen, Danny. She had climbed up the large man, sitting on his shoulders and resting her arms on the mess of glowing hair. "It's like take your kids to work day! Ooo, Dan! Can we fight too!?"
Unlike the two kids, the man looked purely exhausted and annoyed. The man, Dan, dropped Danny like a sack of potatoes as he took a long drink from the travel cup in his hand.
It didn't take a genius to recognize the look of an exhausted parent in Dan's expression. A look many of the league members were well acquainted to. A look that even had Batman grimacing with sympathy.
"Can it, little shits. You two were grounded, remember." Dan had growled at the kids before shifting his focus back on the team of heroes before them. His glowing eyes set in a deadly glare. "Pariah Dark isn't coming, and he never will. He's been dethroned and banished. We're the best you've got."
A summoning that started with a group of on edge and scared heroes looking for the ghost king, ended in a way no one expected.
No one was even sure if it made any sense. They weren't sure if they should feel hopeful or in despair.
Because truly, what was a ghostly man with two seemingly human children against a godlike foe with the control over the weather?
The unspoken question of power and ability seemed to vanish following Dan downing the metal travel cup of coffee, and crushing it in his fist.
He tossed it to the side, straighting up his posture as he looked over the heroes. Dan might not be a hero, but he's been playing family for too long.
An almost feral, bloodhungry grin spread across the man's face, sharp fangs on full display. The look made the man suddenly look even less human. He looked closer to a demon from the pits of hell rather than the exhausted parent he looked just a few seconds ago.
"Point me in the direction of this bastard. It's been too long since I let loose and had some fun."

drew hallownest's crown in its prime, before any stray wyrms decided to move in and create some random kingdom :3
surely the moths who built this fine statue would never turn their backs upon the being it represents, causing it to be forgotten and grow spiteful, seeding death and sickness in the interest of revenge!!
...
ANYWAYS, i know it's not super complex, but i'm pretty happy with it. been trying to figure out how to draw rock/stone and clouds in a sketchier/looser style, so here's my attempt at that, if anyone has some tips/tricks for that it'd be super greatly appreciated!! :3
also felt like i'd been drawing a lot of super gloomy dark environments and was kinda stuck in a rut/art blocked, so i wanted to step outside my comfort zone :)
seriously though imagine some beautiful sunny day with multicoloured clouds and sunbeams shining down through the crystal peaks, refracting off crystals and stuff.... i'd love to see that in-game somehow dude

Lambert had abandoned the idea years ago that Narinder would have actually attempted this.
Two months of working on this chapter alone. And for good reason: it’s 15k words, double what my chapters have averaged so far.
I’ve been waiting a year and a half for this to go up. I can’t even tell you how excited I am that every single tiny thing I’ve written into this fic so it could build up to exactly this has paid off.
See you on the other side, readers.

the thing about caitlyn fucking kiramman is that i don't even LIKE her, but i also can't stop thinking about her. she could've been SO GREAT. like in s1 i didn't particularly care about her (she was just ... there. there was nothing offensive about her character, she just didn't stand out among all the others in the main cast), but in s2???? so much of what goes on with her in s2 is just so utterly delicious and right up my alley ... in theory. in concept.
but the execution is just so utterly atrocious, and combined with the rest of s2's general idiocy, it makes me so furious, but i still can't not think about the WHAT IF, ya know?
what if we maybe deferred the magical hive mind robots and the wizard cult and the multiverse to the next show (or never ... never's good) and the focus remained on piltover and zaun. what if we had a season or two more, so that the necessity of a redemption within the next six 40 min episodes didn't bog cait down (or ... you know. no redemption arc. i actually prefer that. let her be evil, lmao.)
if they had spent the time and the effort into actually exploring her inner world in order for us to see her slow descent into fascism, it could've been SO GOOD. if they had taken this kind, painfully naive yet so well-intentioned girl who descended down into zaun and saw the suffering inflicted by the system she herself has benefited from her entire life, put her through an event that actually challenges both her ingrained kindness and the newly-formed awareness of the oppressive dynamic that permeates the society she lives in and then asked the question: is caitlyn kiramman the sort of person who can suffer a huge personal loss like her mother due to this exact oppressive dynamic and still come out recognising that it's a symptom of the system her mother, PERSONALLY, propagated?
and if the answer is no, like s2 attempts to do, if, as someone much funnier than i am said somewhere on this webbed site, she takes zaun lives matter out of her instagram bio ... that's okay. hell, for me, a known enjoyer of characters who are terrible people, it's excellent. it takes the s1 character i didn't much care for and makes her into someone i would be extremely intrigued by.
but ... that's not what happens. or rather, an arc that would require a lot of work to do justice is so condensed that she goes from 0 to 100 in one 40 min episode, and i understand why it's so hard to swallow for so many people. and the worst part is that i can SEE the outline of what could've been, and it makes the switch that much more jarring. cait seemed to be going in one direction, until the memorial attack when she did a complete 180. worse than that, when she decided to form her sexy lil copaganda war crimes task force, she immediately pulled out the big guns.
(i have seen ... so much discussion on how much harm unleashing the grey on zaun actually did, and in case my opinion is somehow relevant to this discussion let me just come out and say:
how do you think gas works? we are shown, explicitly on screen, cait and the war crimes gang release it in the streets of an underground city where her family controls the vents. i think any discussion that doesn't conclude with yes, caitlyn did in fact bring unfathomable harm to hundreds if not thousands of people is a waste of time.)
more than that, while cait herself doesn't live in our world, the creators who wrote and animated this, and the viewers who saw it do, and we all have a cultural awareness of chemical warfare and its associations. it's insane to me that people go against common sense to defend her here, both because i don't think it can be defended unless you have a HEAVY case of fave-can-do-no-wrong goggles on, but also for me personally because ... why would we want to? she's finally being interesting.
all that said, and i cannot overemphasise this enough, gassing zaun should've been a moral event horizon for cait. it should've been the point at which even the people around her--most notably, bloody VI--turn on her. it should not have been the very first thing she does.
hell, she establishes the task force specifically BECAUSE she believes that the council attack, in mel's own words, was an act of one deranged individual, and she wants a small force that can extract/kill jinx, rather than a full-scale invasion that is going to harm innocents. so WHY is the first thing she and the task force do EXACTLY THAT?
the war crimes task force should have been shown to struggle in zaun for an extended period of time, during which cait grows more strained, as do her relationships with her loved ones. she should have been shown struggling with ptsd from the dinner party and guilt over not taking that shot at jinx when she had the chance. vi is the one who convinced her not to--what if she finds herself blaming her for that. what if vi (this post isn't about her so i'm struggling so bad not to derail it completely but oh my poor girl what did they do to you) is pulling away from her, more and more conflicted about what they're doing, both on a systematic level as enforcers rampaging through the undercity and on a personal level as an older sister (just give me vi actually struggling with being an enforcer, PLS, give me her feeling cornered and seeing no other way forward, give me SOMETHING). it would bring in an interesting bit of interpersonal conflict for caitvi that isn't predicated on cait fucking punching vi only for it to never come up again.
point is, we should have seen cait struggling under the weight of being the head of her house, the weight of expectations, the weight of her guilt, we should have seen her barely holding together and feeling like everyone in her life is against her (again! vi!), BEFORE she makes the choice to unleash the grey, to do exactly what she formed the task force to prevent, to take something her mother built to actually do some good (pls insert all the arguments why the kiramman vents are fucked up actually here, i'm too tired to bring them up) and turn it against zaunites, in her mother's memory.
moral. event. horizon.
(insert here something about how jinx turning the grey back onto piltover should've been a major moment for HER, and something to actually lock in all those unconnected and thematically insignificant cait-jinx parallels. how we should've seen her struggling just as much with her own rage and hate, which all stems from guilt--because cait isn't the only one who lost a parent that night. how that moment should have been a CHOICE jinx makes, not just a terrorist attack but the moment in which she chooses to fight for zaun--for selfish reasons, of course, because she's not an idealist, she's not a revolutionary--but does her motivation really matter if the result is an actual resistance movement? look, i have even more thoughts on jinx than i do cait, and if i go on i'll never stop so let's just--let's just go back to cait.)
instead, the gassing is the first thing she does, it's shown to us within a single music video, and then she's being hailed as a dictator. and as rushed a job as the first three episodes do in establishing how she got there, what really pisses me off about cait in s2 and what prompted me to furiously type up a post about a stupid cartoon when i should be translating latin texts for class is ... what now?
the timeskip between ep 3 and 4 is the most fascinating bit here! here's where she's at her angriest--her guilt is eating her alive, because she didn't take that shot, because she alienated vi (what a nice way to say she punched her and left her curling up in pain, alone, wow), everything that made her angry is still there, she still sees jinx's face in her nightmares, except now she has the ultimate power. she has avenues opened up to her that she didn't up until now, and she has ambessa whispering in her ear, fuelling her rage for her own purposes.
this should have been caitlyn at her worst. just as angry as before, just as guilty, but with the full power of a city under martial law under her fingertips.
in a world where we have revolutionary!jinx, we could've had the scene where cait lets ambessa put the Cloak of Dictatorship around her shoulders intersped with flashes of jinx digging out silco's old coat and shrugging it on. caitlyn's cloak hangs heavy and just keeps dragging her deeper underwater as she chokes on her own rage, but jinx nuzzles into the collar of her coat. caitlyn's cloak is a shackle; jinx's coat is a comfort as much as a promise.
in a world where we have revolutionary!jinx, we could've had cait have actual war on her hands.
(it doesn't even have to be jinx. i mean, i WANT it to be, but the war could happen without her, too. i just need IT to happen instead of arcane age of ultron.)
and this could do wonders for her character from so many directions--it could fuel her hatred more because zaunites aren't just rolling over as they did when she gassed them, now they're fighting back, and they're fighting dirty. it could push her deeper into ambessa's embrace because she sure as hell doesn't know anything about warfare, so isn't it lucky she has a decorated general as her mentor?
this is where i get to one more thing i'd have loved to see and that's ... no redemption. not every villain needs redemption, and they sure as hell don't need it to be sympathetic.
because arcane only had two seasons to work with, and because we HAD to have cait redeemed by the end, we get to see none of what would realistically have been her worst era. instead, when we meet her again in ep4 she is already tired, already done with all this, already disillusioned with ambessa. the most interesting part of her arc is completely skipped over in favour of a "redemption arc", and i use the that phrase HIGHLY ironically, given that it was less of an arc and more of someone from the writers' room pointing a gun at my forehead and threatening to shoot if i didn't agree with them that she was redeemed now and that it's all roses and daisies from now on.
ultimately ... i don't WANT her redeemed, but if we must, then i wish more thought and time and effort went into it, just as i wish it did with her descent.
and you know what? caitlyn as the main villain of s2 might've fit nicely into the whole theme of monster you created from s1. of how revolutionary ideas are significantly easier to hold onto when someone you love isn't at stake. you know, all the things that would make the big-collar-and-injured-eye visual parallels s2 draws to silco actually make a lick of sense.
s2 cait stumbles through a multi-season arc in nine episodes, and about as gracefully as a broken-legged foal.

one thing i really love about the lilly confrontation in ep12 is how even though style is only a supporting character in that scene and the camera isn't on him all that much, you can still clearly see just how worried style is about his dad. like, of course the first thing out of his mouth is "dad" and he's looking at him
Tumblr media
but it's not just that. style's dad asks what's going on and we get reaction shots of everyone else (not style), and when the camera goes back to the wide shot while lilly says "i'll tell you soon" we can see that style is still staring at his dad
Tumblr media
in fact, right before it cuts away to a different shot, style actually moves his leg as if he wants to take a step towards his dad, as if he wants nothing more than to run to him, to check on him, to make sure he's safe and uninjured and to rescue him somehow:
Tumblr media
style wants nothing more but to run to his dad and to check on him. the camera cuts to lilly inviting everyone to sit down and style must have finally looked over to her in reaction to her talking, because when the camera cuts to the group style is looking at lilly at first, but then his eyes immediately move towards his dad again and he's scrunching his eyebrows and you can tell how worried he is. the only question on his mind right now is whether his dad is okay. everything within him is pulling him towards his dad
Tumblr media
then bison takes a small, hesitant step towards the table
Tumblr media
and with that, style knows he's finally allowed to get close to his dad without risking something bad happening. this is the moment style's been waiting for. the second style knows he can safely start moving, he instantly rushes to his dad with no hesitation, practically runs to him while he keeps his eyes totally fixed on his dad
Tumblr media
even when style is sitting down he never takes his eyes off of his dad and i love that we can tell despite the fact that we only see the back of style's head
Tumblr media
style sits and he's still staring at his dad and his dad looks back at him and there's some silent communication happening between them, as if style is asking are you okay? are you well? are you hurt? and his dad is like i'm fine, but what's all this?
Tumblr media
after this, there are a few other shots in between while lilly is starting to bring style's dad up to speed, and it's only now that style can afford to focus on lilly, now that he's made sure his dad is (mostly) (physically, at least) fine:
Tumblr media
lilly now has this whole monologue, with her sons chiming in:
LILLY: You probably don’t know, but your son, and your brother, together with my sons, threw me in jail. They probably thought I’d be in there for life. They must have forgotten that money can buy even freedom. FADEL: What the hell do you want now? LILLY: Is that how you talk to your mother, Fadel? I lost everything because of you. My reputation, the trust I built, my connection, even my employees… Everything was ruined because of you. BISON: As it should be. You don’t deserve anything. Let them go and deal with me! LILLY: What satisfaction would that give me?
style focuses on lilly throughout her whole monologue and we can mostly see the side/back of his head whenever the camera pans out to this shot:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i don't know what emotions are happening on his face since we can't exactly see it, but i think he's paying close attention to what lilly is saying and doing so that he can be ready to jump in at any second if things take a turn for the worse and there's something he can do to save the situation (similar to when keen had him and fadel at gun point in ep10)
kant now decides to speak up and offers his life in exchange for his brother's, and style immediately jumps on it as well and tells lilly that she can do anything to him (style), but to let his dad go.
and after style says that, after style announces that he's willing to sacrifice himself, he again turns his head to his dad and there's again some kind of silent dialogue going on between them as his dad looks at him for a moment, too, before they both put their attention on lilly again:
Tumblr media
and i love that style is communicating with his dad again at this very point, because style offering himself up will also affect his dad. his dad might be physically fine if style trades his dad for himself, but emotionally the dad will be ruined if lilly takes his son's life, especially when he's already had to deal with the loss of his wife years ago. style being willing to sacrifice himself isn't nothing, in fact, it's a very big deal and so the two of them communicate about it
lilly continues to talk:
So it was your hero complex that made Fadel and Bison fall head over heels for you. Don’t worry. I prepared some drinks for everyone. You will all… die here together.
and again style is focused on lilly while she talks, paying close attention (i think. it's not like i can see his face, sigh)
Tumblr media
because lilly is now the most immediate danger and it's vital for style to know what she's doing in case she is planning on attacking his dad or whatever else she could be doing. then style has dialogue that directly addresses his dad, so obviously he'd be looking at him
Tumblr media
and what i adore is that after this style keeps his eyes fixed on his dad again even when it cuts back out to the wide shot and it's only when lilly opens her mouth and continues to talk that style slowly draws his attention back to her
Tumblr media
the brothers start pleading with their mother now and we don't see style for quite a long time. it's only after lilly says she'll spare her sons' boyfriends if her sons poison their family members that we're shown style's reaction again. at first he's looking straight ahead before he turns his head and i'm guessing he's looking at kant, communicating with him (or at least trying to? kant isn't looking at him in the shot right beforehand) and then he turns to look at his dad again, in shock
Tumblr media
potentially he might also be looking at fadel instead, here. it's a bit hard to tell from this angle and we don't get a shot of someone responding to him, it just cuts straight to lilly. both versions would be coherent: if style is looking at his dad, it's in a fuck is my dad going to die? sort of way and if he's looking at fadel it would be something more like fuck what do we do you're not actually killing him are you?
style's definitely looking at fadel when he says "mueng" after fadel says he can follow lilly's order
Tumblr media
it's a please don't do this, please don't kill my dad and maybe also a little bit of a there's gotta be a better way out, right? we gotta be able to come up with something, right?
in the next shot it's a bit hard to tell if style is looking at lilly or at fadel, but judging by how much we can see of his jaw/cheek i think he's looking at fadel, actually
Tumblr media
because this is style's head position looking at lilly, we can clearly see the side of his cheek as well as his chin:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
when he's looking at his dad we see absolutely no cheek and no chin, just his hair, just the back of his head:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and so i think this is him looking at fadel, because we see mostly the back of his head, but also a tiny little bit of his cheek, telling us he hasn't turned his head all the way to the side:
Tumblr media
it would certainly make sense if he was looking at fadel in the context of the scene, because now fadel is the most immediate danger to style's dad if fadel really does give style's dad the poisoned drink, not lilly. it's fadel's actions that matter now, whether style's dad lives or dies depends entirely on what fadel does now
and so style watches fadel closely when fadel lifts the cup and while i do think style kind of trusted fadel not to kill his dad, style was most definitely nervous and was ready to jump in at any moment

fadel and bison do save the day and kill lilly in the end
anyway, the point of this post is i just love how focused style is on his dad in the beginning of the scene when he doesn't yet know if his dad is alright and i love the silent communication happening between them throughout the scene, even though both of them end up as background characters in the brothers vs mother showdown. the actors didn't forget to play the relationship that their characters have with each other and it fills me with so much joy. because style and his dad is easily my favorite non-romantic relationship in this show (save for maybe fadel and bison) and we've been told (and shown) over and over again how important style and his dad are to each other and i'm sooooo so happy that the actors kept this relationship up and kept telling their story consistently even when their characters were by far not the main focus of the scene

i've been listening to "it's raining somewhere else" for the past two hours
funny how music works sometimes. at first, it was just another track in the game's soundtrack. pleasant. melancholic. the kind of thing you might hear in an elevator, if elevators played jazz that made you feel things you couldn't quite name.
but then you sit with it. you reaaally sit with it. and you start to realize it's telling you something.
the underground is a strange place when you think about it. what they have isn't really weather– it's more like... echoes of it. mechanical approximations. magical imitations. whatever you want to call it, it's not quite real. at least, to me, it’s not.
waterfall's got its eternal drips, probably just groundwater finding paths through stone the way it always has, i dunno. and snowdin... somehow frozen in a permanent winter that can't possibly be natural. magic, maybe. or something else entirely.
either way, it's all just a stand-in. a photograph of weather, caught in time and played on repeat. unchanging. nature turned into routine.
and maybe that's the whole point.
yes, the underground’s a prison. no point pretending it isn't. but you know what else it is? it's tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that.
you wake up, and papyrus is out there somewhere, recalibrating his puzzles. the regulars at grillby's have worn their own shapes into their seats. even those echo flowers keep whispering the same conversations, like they're stuck in a loop they're too comfortable to break. it’s consistent. reliable.
the song plays at mtt resort, right when sans brings up the surface.
and then you get it. why it's called that.
because up there.. it's raining. really raining. maybe not right here, maybe not right now, but somewhere. it's always raining somewhere. and rain... rain means things change. rain means the open sky decides to rewrite your plans. rain means sometimes everything you built just... washes away. no warning. no apology. just change.
down here though? down here you've got what you need. friends who know your worst jokes. food that never surprises you. a small purpose, perhaps, but hey– it's yours. a place where you belong, even if it's not exactly where you'd choose to be. it's limited, but at least you know the limits.
and i think that's what the song is trying to tell us. every soft note, every gentle melody– it's sans sitting there at that restaurant table, trying to warn you in the only way he knows how.
is it worth it? is it worth leaving the underground if it’s only to be greeted by nothing but rain? sometimes the cage you know is kinder than the freedom you don't.
Tumblr media
it never truly rains in the underground. never has, never will. but somewhere else? somewhere above all this weight monsters call home?
it rains. it pours and it pours. and once you step into that rain, you can never really come back to being dry.

One thing I have to deal with living on the spectrum is I can't recognise the emotion or expressions on peoples faces very well at all. Unless you're cartoonishly sobbing I'll probably not notice anything. Unless we're very close but that's usually just me recognizing a change in pattern than me identifying any specific emotion.
But, frustratingly, I forget other people can notice my emotions and I don't have to tell people outright how I'm feeling. Particularly bad when I'm overstimulated and I'm angry at everyone until I calm down. Much to my dismay, people point out that I'm visibly angry at them. But I don't mean to get angry! You weren't supposed to notice I was angry because I didn't say "I'm mad at you" verbally to indicate that, it was my little secret...
