i genuinely cannot stop thinking about this. the two people who tore your team apart are acting like best friends when you know they hate each other. they say there was a season 3 and a lot of time has passed and they made up. but time has barely passed for you. time has not passed at all, actually. then you find out arent even real. HOW FUCKED UP IS THAT.

So the idea that the Silmarils contain pieces of Feanor's soul is pretty widespread in the fandom. But I have a suggestion. What if they had pieces of Finwe's soul instead.
Think about it. Feanor wants to make something for Finwe– something that will let the Noldor have light without the two trees, yes, but also something that can preserve Finwe's soul forever so he doesn't leave like Miriel did. So he asks for pieces of his father's soul, and Finwe says yes, because he's the kind of parent who gladly encourages all of his children's bullshit even when that is an obviously terrible idea. Feanor keeps the secret of how he made the gems mostly because he doesn't want anyone– especially the Valar– knowing he was experimenting with storing elves' fea in gems. Feanor makes the Silmarils, he gives them to Finwe, probably very publicly, and everything is fine. Until the Darkening happens.
Here, Feanor's initial hesitance to give up the Silmarils isn't because of pride, it's because he thinks it should be Finwe's choice and not his to hand them over. It's only when the Valar insinuate that the Silmarils should really belong to them that he gets angry. But shit really hits the fan when Feanor realizes that Finwe is dead.
See, Finwe's death shouldn't be a problem. Most elves who aren't Miriel who die in Valinor (there are mishaps and accidents occasionally) walk out of Mandos a couple days later. But there's a problem. Finwe's soul isn't in Mandos. Finwe's soul isn't in Mandos and no one knows why. Except Feanor.
And does he tell anyone why he's so panicked about the Silmarils or why Finwe's soul isn't in Mandos? No, of course not, he's way too paranoid for that by now!
He doesn't know how he's going to get the Silmarils back from Morgoth. He doesn't know what he's going to do once he actually gets the Silmarils back.
What he does know is that Morgoth, knowingly or not, has stolen his father. And nothing; neither love, nor law, nor league of swords, is going to stop Feanor from getting him back.
Bonus: this also casts a very interesting light on Thingol's possible obsession with the Silmaril later. Anyone up for some Finwe/Elwe?

OH. MY. GOD.
I wonder if Angeldust genuinely wanted to be an actor? He usually refers to himself as an actor, not a pornstar, and keeps letting himself get dragged into the acting games at the hotel (he can and does say no there so he's participating because he wants to).
With episode 4 he also got really defensive when Husk started criticizing his show and tell, specifically the acting in it.
Plus, on his contract with Valentino the 'A' in Anthony is a star. I could definitely see Val promising a down on his luck Angel to make him a star in exchange for his soul, and a hopeful Angel signing, thinking this is the first step to fulfilling his dream :(

Need a teen! Bruce au where he’s exactly like Justice League! Batman and Battinson in one. That mf put the fear of every god in Ra’s Al Ghul.
Everytime he’s in a room with someone over 30 “Teenagers” by My Chemical Romance plays in the background.
Despite that, in his own way, he’s as gentle as can be with his league. Give me a young Diana who’s getting spat on and ripped apart by the media in a way not one of her male teammates get.
And she’s Wonder Woman. She shouldn’t be affected by it. And she is, anyway. Bruce relates to that in an uncomfortable degree.
“When I first became Batman, weak men tried standing in my way, too. “
“And what did you do?”
“I stepped over them.”
He has a tiny Robin he occasionally has to keep on a leash.
Give me somewhat teen mom Bruce who struggles to wrangle his unruly six year old who likes flipping from rooftop to rooftop and thinks fighting Bane is a piece of cake.
“If Tati can do it, so can I!”
“Dick,” he paused, before handing him a handfull of candy. “Wonderful emotional manipulation. Good job.”
“:D”

To illustrate this post by @mayahawkse I would like to visualize to you the difference:
A post in 2023:
Tumblr media
A post in 2014:
Tumblr media
A zoom out of the same post:
Tumblr media
This is what a community looks like.
See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.
It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.
Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.
If you want more of something, reblog it.

*percy seen from a far, wearing a suit*
piper: do my eyes deceive me or is percy jackson wearing formal clothes? since when does he have the ability to look like a domesticated human being?
frank: how come HE, percy of all people, king of untidiness, can wear a cream linen suit and look like a celebrity, but when i tried one on i looked like a man-child going to a high school dance?
hazel: sweetie it’s just because it’s such a casual suit, and you’re much more elegant than percy is!
annabeth, turning to them: um okay, hi percy’s best friends? can you guys compliment him without insulting him?
leo: his ass looks incredible.
grover: has he been working out?
annabeth, side eyeing them:
annabeth: okay, you have all now either insulted him or hit on him. how about from now on, you do neither?
rachel: how about we do both? because i’ve actually just perfected doing them at the same time

As much as I love the idea of Will wearing Lee's flannel after his death, I much more prefer a scenario where he was constantly trying to steal it when Lee wasn't looking. Lee got fed up with this gremlin child (affectionate) trying to steal his clothes (he knows that he should toss it out, burn it, but he can't bring himself to do it; it holds way too many memories) so he gets a green flannel and embroiders it with little sun symbols.
He hides it in one of the secret rooms in the infirmary, because he can't have any of his siblings – or worse, a spy – stumble across it in his cabin. He leaves it here and makes a promise to give it to Will on his birthday.
Over a year later, Will tries to find a place to hide – no one should see their head counselor and head medic cry. He finds this room and remembers the talks about it and how it was one of Lee and Luke's secret hideouts. He wants to leave; he doesn't need another memory of what it was and what it could've been. But his gut tells him to enter and he finds a neatly packaged box.
There's a green flannel and a note:
For my little brother, Will
— Lee
P.S. stop stealing my clothes!
He never takes it off.

Her Astrophel and Sterling
hmmm
Hmmmmmmmm
You know what.
You know those AU's where the Batfam finds or learns about either hidden or thought to be dead Al Ghul Danny! with a deaged/daughter Dani (Ellie) (I should know, I created a few of those storylines) but what if, now hear me out, what if instead of them finding Danny first its Talia.
Do I want Talia discovering her thought to be dead son to be alive? Yes. Do I want her to find him while investigating Amity Park when the League gets reports of 'Lazarus creatures/water'? Yes.
DO I WANT HER TO KNOCK ON THE FENTON'S DOOR, fully ready to pretend/honey talk her way into the house to uncover what the Fenton's know, ONLY TO MEET A LITTLE ELLIE?!
YES.
Ellie whose eyes and hair look like a copy of her Beloved but she can see bits and pieces of herself as well. Talia knows the child in front of her was not fully her's though but everything makes sense when she hears a voice, a voice she hasn't heard in ages but as a mother just knows, speak out.
"Ellie! I thought I said do not answer the door my Sterling."
"But Daddy, yous was busy fighting the hotdoggys!"
Talia's eyes widen when she finally catches sight of familiar black hair and blue eyes.
and she could only lightly whisper a old nickname she hasn't dared uttered in ages, a name she secretly gave her son due to his love of the stars "Astrophel..."

enough stories about how someone learns to truely be happy through love. i want a story where someone is desperately seeking out love thinking it's the only way to be happy only for them to learn by the end that happiness is what they make of it and they don't need love at all to make it.

Manfred Von Karma did not burn Phoenix's letters to Miles.
Like, I'm not even saying this to defend Manfred's character (though the fanbase does get a little crazy with what he actually did and didn't do) I'm saying this because that's not canon. I'm not sure it was even possible in canon.
Phoenix didn't write letters to Germany. He didn't know Miles was in Germany, let alone Von Karma's address. He didn't even know who Von Karma was until Edgeworth told him about Manfred in Turnabout Goodbyes.
In the game canon, Miles just stopped showing up to school one day. All Phoenix seemed to know was that he transferred schools suddenly. He didn't know why or where to. Remember, Phoenix didn't even hear about DL-6 until Turnabout Sisters when Maya mentioned her family's involvement.
Even in the anime canon (I haven't watched the anime in a while so I might be off about this) where Phoenix and Miles get a chance to properly say goodbye, Phoenix still doesn't have a direct means of contacting him. His best way of doing so was dedicating a song through the radio using Signal Samurai codenames and hoping Miles would hear it.
Phoenix mentions trying to contact him several times when explaining their relationship to Maya, but this was after finding out Miles was this "Demon Attorney". Miles would have to be at least 20 at this point in time, living back in California with at least a few trials under his belt. With how young he reached success, it's not impossible Miles was living on his own at the time. Even if he wasn't, I doubt Manfred was going through this grown adult's mail.
No, what the game seems to be implying is that Miles ignored Phoenix. (Maya even says, "I guess he didn't want to hear from his old friends.") And I don't think this was out of hatred or anything, I think Miles just wanted to forget his past entirely because even the good memories of his childhood would be bittersweet at best.
And to be honest that makes it even more tragic to me. Why do we need Manfred to intercept their connection when Miles' trauma and guilt complex is already doing that?
I like to think Miles knew Phoenix would be asking questions if he ever responded to those initial attempts at contact. Questions he of course doesn't want to answer because they'd at best open old wounds or at worst risk his childhood friend finding out he might have committed patricide.
I also like to think he knew Phoenix of all people would stubbornly try to find the answers Miles wouldn't willingly give because he literally mentions Phoenix always being "single minded in his work" and "always seeing things through to the end". If anyone was going to press and bring those uncomfortable and painful memories out in the open for the sake of "helping him", it would be Phoenix Wright.
Why do we need Manfred to take away all that complexity and tragedy? That is such a waste!
