truly do not understand modern Hollywood's obsession with equating a 'strong' female character with having no other option or role but to swing a sword and be a warrior. how can people earnestly look at characters like Galadriel, Arwen, Éowyn, Ioreth, Lúthien, etc., and argue there are no strong, 'feminist icons' and stories within Tolkien's writing—that his works are not 'female-character friendly'. truly living in one of the worst timelines.

okay well i cracked and made a blog specifically for film reviews because after my spiral yesterday i decided that being stagnant never helped anyone and that i could at least start building a name for myself. so i am doing that. idk if any of u would be interested in reading em but if you ask for the @ i will probably give it to you. i havent posted anything yet but i am sick of being sad when i have the tools for these things at my disposal. maybe at some point i could upgrade my format to an audio or video medium if things go well and i dont get discouraged but im taking baby steps rn :-)

I might not be playing it, but since @mikanashii and I are both screaming about FFXIV right now, I had a go at designing my own would-be Warrior of Light character! And here she is! Her name is Lila Dawnefyre, and although she often gets mistaken for a spellcaster because of her glasses, she is actually a paladin! A native to Ul'Dah, while she's technically a squire, she still trains under the Sultansworn, in between being an adventurer of course. She's kind, sweet and breezy in nature, but on the battlefield she is an absolute lioness and never hesitates to protect her allies, and she can and will kick your butt if she needs to.

Oh and I also ship her with Haurchefant. Because of course I do.

Back on my Warriors gets a loftwing shenanigans

So, what if the fact that warriors has the spirit of the hero was enough for a loftwing from the goddess to appear in some form during the war of eras.

So, Say he falls from skyloft during the battle and it looks like he's going to fall through the cloud barrier never to be seen again. Then He hears a sound which sounds like a whistle through his mind and copies it.

A loftwing call, Which summons a spirit loftwing encased in a golden hue to save him. He manages to return to the island much to the surprise of the skyloftian commanders who are very much surprised at the fact that a non-skyloftian has summoned a random (seemingly unbonded) loftwing to his aid.

He then spends some time bonding with the loftwing, and is told to take part in an all be it rushed skyloftian bonding ceremony after speaking to the elders of skyloft at the time.

Names the loft wing, Justice. Justice is a grass green feathered loftwing with emerald green and navy blue tipped feathers. The bond mist (eyes, from my loftwing bond headcanon) is emerald green.

During his campaign on skyloft he is taught how to fly and how to fight in the air with the skyloftians. Learning aerial combat with bows and is found to be quite good at it as long as the loftwing is flying in a straight line.

Once the campaign ends and he is summoned back to his time he says goodbye to justice, content on never seeing his companion loftwing again.

What warriors dosent see, is justice disappearing into golden light as he leaves. Returning to the light he came from.

Unless he ever finds himself back on Skyloft of course.

Rebalanced my auto-battle cards, because it turns out my decks are way too weak to compete with them, and they don't really need to be strong anyway. Also made a MAJOR nerf to how lands work for the deck. Also reposting the other conspiracies (rules) because it's been a while and they're helpful as context

Also a small aside from the polls, some general thing that I’d probably do in the Five Clans AU is the idea I had of the Clans from the first book.

Which is- The Clans aren’t a permanent feature. Or they aren’t always.

What does that mean?

Well it’s inspired by Bluestar’s line to Spottedleaf which is “ThunderClan needs more Warriors to survive” which is in the prologue I believe. Which is in regards to the spring coming late and lack of kits being born.

It isn’t a lot to go off of, but it always gave me the vibe that yeah ThunderClan theoretically could’ve ceased to exist. Which also explains why a lot of the cats were ok with WindClan being gone cause this has probably happened many times before.

So there was presumably many other Clans that have lived and died out (whether they moved or just merged with others) that the territories have seen.

From oldest to youngest the Clans are

SkyClan -> WindClan -> RiverClan -> ShadowClan -> ThunderClan

ThunderClan is still old btw! Seen many generations, but it is the youngest of the surviving Clans. Shadowclan and RiverClan could theoretically swap places, but eh

I have a complicated relationship with the concept of microlabels and more specifically aspec microlabels, because on one hand I have nothing against people who want to use a term that more closely describes their experiences it's literally none of my business good for them etc. but on the other hand I do think that sometimes people feel pushed to use microlabels because there are sooo many misconceptions about what asexuality and aromanticism actually are. so for example people who are just discovering their identity will try to connect with other aspecs, realize their experiences don't fully match every other aspec's experiences and get insecure, and that leads to interactions like "is it normal that I'm aromantic but I like shipping and romcoms?" "that actually means you're aegoromantic!" like it doesn't have to! it literally doesn't have to you don't have to identify as aego you can just call yourself aromantic! I feel like it would be way more productive to put effort into dispelling the idea that there's a 'proper' way to be asexual/aromantic instead of creating a microlabel for every experience that doesn't match common stereotypes.

and I'm gonna talk about asexuality specifically here because asexuality is still talked about so much more often (sorry to the aroallo warriors out there) but we've, and I can only assume this is a consequence of the stupid fucking ace discourse, internalized this weird idea that anyone who doesn't 100% fit into the category of 'never felt sexual attraction ever + no libido + sex-repulsed + never even THINKS about sex' either needs to use a microlabel or maybe even isn't really asexual. I've genuinely seen people ask "can I be asexual if I masturbate" "can I be asexual if I think this fictional character is hot" like YES? YES OBVIOUSLY? who is making you feel like you can't call yourself asexual point them out in the crowd for me tell me their name and their home address.

not to mention the fringe group of idiots (and I'll be real it's mostly weirdo terfs saying this shit) who are like "ohhh I feel bad for the REAL asexuals IF they even EXIST because these STRAIGHT people who don't put out on the first date are HIJACKING their community" which pisses me off so bad every time I see it. who the fuck are you to speak for me? keep your forked tongue behind your teeth etc etc.

like idk! people are totally allowed to call themselves aceflux and quoiromantic and fray and litho and whatever they want, but they should never feel like they have to! and it's become abundantly clear that some are being made to feel like they have to.
