My Ever-so changing opinions : Anime Version.
Tumblr media
All time favorite Anime : bungou stray dogs, look at it. Its so tragic-comedy while being so straightly-GAY that I can't look away.
Favorite anime for its story : Spy X family, Anti-War + Spies/assassins + Found family + Adopted Parents + fake Dating + Telepaths + perfect characters = an amazing series.
Anime favorite for its art style : oshi no ko, it's very pretty to look at. And most of the style chooses match the story it's telling.
Favorite anime for its soundtrack : Promised Neverland, **lullaby starts playing** *I start crying*
Favorite anime for its characters : Sk8 infinity, I LOVE REKI, LANGA, MATCHABLOO-- You get the point. It's the first anime that was centered around sports that I watched and I watched it JUST for the characters alone.
Favorite anime for action : Spy x family, *points at any Yor action scene*
Favorite anime for fantasy : Fairytail, I will be honest. Nostalgia played a big role in this picking. It was like the third anime I watched.
Favorite anime for romance : My perfect/happy marriage, it was so good. I love the main characters together. Though the villains were very one dimensional but it's a romance so I ain't complaining.
Favorite anime for comedy : Buddy daddies, I will be honest, Rei and miri were the most funny together to me.
Favorite anime for its science fiction : wonder egg priority,.... I am VERY confused on what the series was about. But it did succeed as a sci-fi and horror to be honest. (Feel free to explain it to me. I am dumb as hell)
Favorite anime for slice of life : Boruto : nng, Uzumaki family has my heart.
Favorite anime movie : silent voice, okay when she confessed and he couldn't understand and said "I love the moon" I genuinely felt my heart ache. It wasn't healthy for me but I loved it.
Anime you like but everyone hates : Boruto, do I need to say more?
Anime you hate but everyone likes : non actually? Unless you count hating the fandom. In that case, mha.
Favorite male character : AKUTAGAWA RYUUNOSUKE
Favorite female character : ANYA FORGER
Favorite protagonist : UZUMAKI BORUTO.
Favorite antagonist : SHIGARAKI TOMURA.
Favorite animation studio : Ghibli, I see comfort in the animation.
Underrated anime : WOLF CHILDREN, GO WATCH IT. IT'S SHORT. PLEASEEEEE. IT'S ABOUT A SINGLE MOM RAISING WOLF CHILDREN AND IT MAKE ME CRY.
Overrated anime : My hero academia, do I need to say more?
Character you hate the most : DAZAI- SIKE. he is my second hated but first is Fyodor for killing Bram in front of Aya.
Worst anime : Rent a girlfriend, only one episode was enough for me to just stop watching.
My first anime : DRAGON BALL Z!
@fandom-stealer *points at you* wait you don't watch anime-

*waves at* hello, welcome back fellow void. I bring you song recs! also, work on the blanket has paused due to me having to sort yarn (long story short, was looking for a specific color in the piles for a project i wanna start, couldn't find it) and having to order the other color i need specifically for your blanket. -.- anyway.
Good enough by Sarah Mchlachlan for 9/0ths, especially the ending verse. So let me just try, and I will be good for you/Just let me try, and I will be there for you/I'll show you why you're so much more than good enough
Aqua Regia by Sleep Token for Shadows and Strength and 9/10ths. also just a hella good song in general.
Well, my love is an animal call/Cutting through the darkness, bouncing off the walls/Between teeth on a broken jaw/Following a blood trail, frothing at the maw Raise a little hell by Eric Stuart Band for Team Shisui or Team Uzumaki. Going off vibes for this one honestly, but still fits. I won't twist your arm, I won't do no harm/ I ain't tryna get you into a mess/But if your fantasy is with the boys and me/ We'll treat you like an honored guest
50 ways to leave your lover by Paul Simon. An oldie but goodie (you can thank the Sweet Tooth series for this one). You could apply this to any AU where Naruto leaves Konoha The problem is all inside your head, she said to me/ The answer is easy if you take it logically/ I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free/There must be fifty ways to leave your lover
last but not least, Storm Song by Phildel, for Whirlpool Calls him home I'll send a storm to capture your heart and bring you home/ Oh, carried on the breeze, you'll never find me gone Oh, faster than the post train, burning like a slow flame on/I'll send a storm to capture your heart and bring you home
Enjoy. Will share more pics of the blanket when i get back to working on it and have more to show.
I am, as always, in awe of your yarn ways and cannot wait to see more.
But ooohhh darling you came out swinging with these song recs. Might have to update the playlist later

Hinata Hyuga Slander and why it is obnoxiously idiotic.
I actually thought the Hinata Slander was a joke or one or two people sided with it. But I am totally taken aback to realize that it’s actually real—and a little popular—it’s real?
Prepare for a run down through Naruto Series kids, because some few fellas clearly did not watch it properly. Either that, orrr…they’re filled with unreasonable hatred for a character who should be the last to be hated. By literally anybody.
I’m going to try to keep this short (I’m lying), but there are going to be topics on Hinata I’m going to go over so it’s not a messy bunch and rather organized and you can skip to which ever you find most relevant.
Before anything, a remark, I never overly cared for Hinata’s existence and she isn’t even in my top 15 Naruto characters but that does not mean I dislike her nor do I look down at her character. Now imagine a person like me going out of their way to take time and write an entire blog for her—yeah, it’s that ridiculous.
There will be that one person—and I’m saying this beforehand—who will barely skim through this and childishly reply to my blog. Catch me caring though!
Tumblr media
All of the topics will include manga based evidence as well as a breakdown of the scene and what they portray, therefore, canon reasonings. There are plenty of other and more evidence out there, I will only provide some and main ones that back up claims. Here are topics I will be going over:
Hinata Hyuga as an anime character/character writing
Personality
Goals & Dedications
Skills & Strength
Incessant Love for Naruto Uzumaki
Tumblr media
#1 Character Writing
While many people believe that Kishimoto is terrible at writing female characters, I’d like to disagree. Females like Temari, Konan, Ino, and Karin all pass the main checkmarks of being an exceptionally “good” character; a solid background/past, special abilities, and set personality. What I do agree with though is that he does not know how to put them to use, and it is obvious why. These females were not the only ones tossed aside—so were good characters like Lee, Neji, Jiraiya, and so on, all because of the author’s obsession with the Uchiha as well as Sasuke’s story.
Hinata is included in the “good” character checklist, and rather exceeds. The difference between her and the rest of the women is that she is the best representation of an individualistic woman and had incredible character development.
↓ How did we go from a girl so easily shaken and brought down with mere words
Tumblr media
↓ To the girl who had the guts to charge against an Akatsuki member,
Tumblr media
↓ And seeked frontlines during the war?
Tumblr media
It may look like it’s only for the sake of Naruto, but it’s not entirely the reason, only partial. Everybody was set on saving Naruto anyway, instead of fighting the war themselves because they knew Naruto was their key to winning.
Hinata’s introduction may have started with her admiration for Naruto Uzumaki, and it did play a big part, but her entire existence never just revolved around romance. She had way more to her. Hinata’s character itself promotes women empowerment despite her not being the main female protagonist.
Through her writing, we learn that women don’t need to not seek love in order to be independent and a powerful female with goals and dedications that have nothing to do with romance. Hinata is a perfect example of this.
As a side-side character, Hinata excels in character writing, and is interesting enough to keep the audience invested in her existence. The next few manga pages and break-downs will explain it well.
Tumblr media
#2 Personality
Her personality did not revolve around her undying love for Naruto only. She was her own person, too.
↓ While shy and timid, Hinata is also a pure and kind hearted soul, as we do not know any character she actually has bad blood with, making her somebody easy to be around with. She’s very gentle, making the atmosphere around her almost tranquil.
Tumblr media
↓ Her conflict with Neji was very one-sided, and despite his harsh treatments, she still used honorifics and respected him.
Tumblr media
↓ Yes, she might be a soft human being, but not to the point she is unable to pick out flaws in other people.
Tumblr media
She seems more warmed up in Shippuden than she was in Classic, and it’s fair to say that ever since Chunin exams, she had gained confidence with the help of Naruto’s cheering. Confidence in herself and her skills. (Panels above may help)
Something to keep in mind is that Neji was known to be more cold, arrogant, and stronger than Sasuke during this time, by Kakashi’s words.
↓ Yet Hinata did not back away even after being told to, multiple times I believe, even by Kiba himself.
Tumblr media
↓ This was the beginning of her journey of trying to be more assertive about herself, as she believes she could keep on going without chickening out.
Tumblr media
↓ And she didn't back away when someone from the Hyuga Clan told her to do so--she was persistent.
Tumblr media
Hinata was never meant to be somebody with great leadership skills; she has always been a follower, almost, who takes a lot of inspiration from people she looks up to. The obvious person, Naruto, and Neji were mentioned.
Tumblr media
#3 Goals & Dedications
Her goal had never been only to be a wife and a lover to Naruto. It was one of her goals, the hope to get Naruto to acknowledge her, which he did several times. But that was not it, there was more.
Hinata did not seem so close with her family, so she had no certain goals regarding the Hyuga Clan. She was almost avoiding them and was deemed to be a shinobi, which she probably preferred, participated, and found likeness to, rather than the next heir to the Hyuga Clan, simply because her father did not believe her feather-like personality was fit for it, nor did Hinata seem too interested to lead a clan with such twisted rules and laws.
Despite her father's harsh, degrading words (and Neji's), she did not let it effect her because she continued to get stronger later on.
Tumblr media
Hinata always wanted to be self-assured, and wanted to be as confident as Naruto always has been. She wanted to be of use, somehow. Refer to #2, second last image.
↓ Here, too, we see her admitting that she never believed in herself, until she did.
Tumblr media
"I stared liking myself a little more..." shows she had very little fondness for herself.
Hinata wanted to change herself for a very long time. She did not ever want to stay the way she used to be--scared.
Another admittance,
Tumblr media
But then...
Tumblr media
All of these images show that Hinata had something she was thriving for, something she was dedicated to achieve that was not just romance. So, props to Hinata (and Tenten, but that's another story) for actually having a goal/objective.
Tumblr media
#4 Skills & Strength
All powers Hinata has been shown to use/possess:
Byakugan (Kekkei Genkai)
Gentle Fist (Specific Taijutsu)
The Eight Trigrams (Air Palm, Palm Rotation, 64-Palms)
The Gentle Step; Twin Lion Fist
The Eight Trigram; Twin Lions Surging Shots (Utilizes Hagoromo's Chakra)
Hamura Otsutsuki's Chakra
And some others I might’ve missed
I'm not going to make this section breaking down each ability, but I'm going to use this information to factually prove that Hinata has more amounts of known and used abilities than probably all female characters, as well as like 90% of overall Naruto characters or something. And she's definitely stronger than a lot of characters, logically, despite her not having been in fights very often.
During younger years, Hinata Hyuga was put against Neji Hyuga—once again, claimed to be possibly stronger than Sasuke at that time—and Hinata was actually able to put up with Neji. For a bit, or a while, it doesn't matter. For a young, scared girl who has never been in a fight before to be able to do so speaks for her skills.
Tumblr media
Inexperienced against the nearly strongest genin, one filled with hatred, among her generation, Hinata exceeded enough.
↓ In Shippuden, we even get a scene where she protects Neji!
Tumblr media
There's a very few people Hinata actually canonically fought, but when she did, she did plenty well for being a side-side character.
↓...And that same side-side character, Hinata Hyuga, was the only kunoichi in the entire show to actually land a hit on Pain, during Pain Arc. The inevitable praise.
Tumblr media
Here comes the cries of, “but she was flung LOL” “hinata didn’t achieve shit from this” “he threw her like she was nothing”
Frankly, those are most ignorant things you can say regarding her actions. To stand up against an Akatsuki member? That takes a lot of balls, considering that nobody was standing up for Naruto, and practically gave up, giving into Pain’s near-victory.
The entire point was not even to defeat Pain—it was to defend Naruto. And in doing so, she stalled for a bit, preventing him from immediately killing Naruto. In that amount of time, the few who remained could’ve backed her up, they could’ve offered some sense of rescue, but because of twist of fate, and the expected, Hinata was unable to keep Pain off of Naruto. It brought her to near-death, triggering Naruto Uzumaki’s 9-Tail-Fox.
Hinata was the fiercest woman. She wasn’t stupid, she accepted she was weaker and couldn't win before she even got onto the battle field. But she tried.
Tumblr media
The scene was never about physical strength to begin with; it was her strong mindset and dedication. She was aware of the consequences and still stepped in, demonstrating her everlasting commitment for Naruto. This entirely proves that she not only had great self-development, she had the audacity to stand against the strongest Akatsuki member (excluding Obito), who killed a Legendary Sannin.
Tumblr media
#5 Incessant Love for Naruto Uzumaki
In the entirety of Naruto Anime existence (excluding Boruto), only one of its movies have been considered canon, that being Naruto: The Last.
While I hoped it would show us Naruto promoting to Hokage, all of it was focused on Hinata and Naruto's relationship, and we found out a lot through it. Like, a lot.
There are very few couple/characters in Naruto that actually have past together/some story and strong reasoning to start liking their love interest. Such characters being Kushina, Karin, Konan (the K's lol), and of course, Hinata.
There are filler episodes that go before The Last, but I wouldn't count them (even if they add on to the actual story), but in The Last, we figure out that Hinata and Naruto first met when he protected her from getting bullied due to her Byakugan, and he gets beaten up for it.
Tumblr media
"Never go back on my word" was one of Naruto's internal rules that he stuck by and it made up his entire personality, almost. Hinata really seemed to respect it and use it for herself.
She tend to turn his imperfections into motivations,
Tumblr media
Those feelings seem to get more bold in Shippuden and more confronting. So much so she did not hesitate to put her life on the line for the boy. Not "just because." Hinata gave a list of unavoidable reasonings, that we were able to point out, too.
Tumblr media
And vice-versa, she did make a difference in Naruto's life pre-marriage. She gave him courage, motivation, and a reason to keep going. Refer to the fourth image in this section, too.
Then, our closure, he finally realized that Hinata has been there for him since the beginning of the times (also in The Last).
Tumblr media
“…but…but…! Hinata is a stalker! She was always watching Naruto! She’s so creepy!”
Okay, but her canonically shown watching Naruto was like, twice in 700 episodes… ↓
Tumblr media
And...honestly...it's not really...that...deep...lol? Old Japanese humor. And don't act like girls nowadays don't stalk the shit out of the boy they like--let's get real here. Just get over it. It's an exaggerated cartoon.
People have different views when it comes to love. But one thing I heavily disagree with are weak or false reasonings to fall in love with somebody. You’ll screw yourself over. Seeing a guy walk through the door and finding him physically attractive should not be your reason to “fall in love” and keeping that reason forever; you’re falling in love with his body, not him. It could be the start of your interest. Taking your time to get to know what kind of individual they are, and then accepting their personality, and falling in love with that person is guaranteed success. Reasons are important.
And Hinata understood that well, unlike someone who didn’t (I’m throwing shade!)
Tumblr media
(A very quick addition and counter-argument I might get is that Hinata was the cause of Neji's death. I didn't want to put this into an entire section because it'll involve mentioning Neji's own character. But to be frank, Neji chose to protect Hinata and died that way. And I idiotically love Neji far more than Hinata. You don't need somebody's permission to protect them, nor did Neji do it just because he was the lower branch of the Hyuga Clan. Neji and Hinata’s relationship was beyond that. Way beyond. Reread the manga, or even rewatch the anime, and listen and figure out why he did what he did. It had nothing to do with Hinata being a higher rank than him, at least not entirely at all.)
__________________________________________
I was going to add another section titled, "Comparison", but because of image restrictions and as well as the thought that this blog is only about Hinata, I scratched it out.
I don't even praise Hinata. She isn't my favorite Naruto female, either. Personally, for me, she just existed as a character. But I'd be damned if I threw any dirt on her for any reason.
If anything, I believe Hinata Hyuga's character is underappreciated in the way she should be appreciated. She's not just some...loyal, attractive girl (hell, Kishimoto never canonically even drew her with tight/exposing clothing, they were always baggy. So, screw the anime studio.) She was a figure of a powerful woman, better written than any other female in Naruto, and a strong individual, with more story than several, several other characters.
So when I heard "Hinata Slander" was a real thing, truly, I was baffled. I'll admit my blog was quite messy despite my effort to keep it organized with main claims and obvious evidence, but there are still multiple more panels that back up everything I've mentioned that make up Hinata's character.
After all this, I really don't think there's anything that can be said against her in the context (and lie) of "she is a horrible character." And there aren't a lot of characters she can fairly be compared to, anyway. She's just awesome.
As a person, and a side-side anime character, Hinata Hyuga undeniably exceeded.
"Hinata Slander" is fake. Find something better to do than embarrassing yourself.

for a fantasy manga about found family, loss, and food made of monsters - Dungeon Meshi by Ryoko Kui (the anime is coming out in January! I really hope it's good
for a horror novella retelling an edgar allen poe short story with a fungal twist - What Moves The Dead by T. Kingfisher
for a campy and humorous horror with lovable characters thats just a bit freaky - The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher
for a horror manga thats just...really weird, man - Uzumaki by Junji Ito (really anything in his bibliography, incredible, don't you dare watch any anime adaptations though, they suck)
for a sapphic love story set in a war that spans timelines - This Is How You Loose The Time War by Max Gladstone and Amal El - Mohtar (just finished this one, its great)
for a cozy character focused sci-fi with great casual worldbuilding - The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers
for a dystopian novel set in a beehive - The Bees by Laline Paull
for a novella with beautiful lyrical prose that is best going into blind - Comfort Me With Apples by Catherynne M. Valente
for a non-fiction about cursed objects and the stories behind them - Cursed Objects by J. W. Ocker (currently reading, its really entertaining)
for some entry level lit-fic set in a university that doesn't go anything like you would expect - Bunny by Mona Awad
if you just need a classic - The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
heyyyy got any book recommendations?:)
I'm sorry anon but I am not very well read :(( However, I trust my good mutuals @scrubbythebubble and @spacedustmantis might have some good recommendations.
The only stuff I really like that I can think of is The Ancient Magus Bride and Fruits Basket which are both manga, neither of which I've finished. I've been rereading Skulduggery Pleasant and I've also been reading The Kingdom of the Lost. But yeah, nah, I'm really not the person to ask for recommendations. Ty for asking nonetheless though. ^ ^;;

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbr.com/junji-ito-souichi-tsujii-needs-anime-series/amp/
My fellow Junji Ito fans out there: do you agree with this? I saw it pop up on my Google feed and after reading through it, I think that it would be entertaining for a short series, but that's my opinion.
Mainly bc I like the mix of horror and humor and okay, I have a soft spot for Souichi. Don't get me wrong--I love so many of Junji Ito's works (I brought some copies of his short story collections when I travelled over the summer), and I'm excited for the upcoming Uzumaki anime.
But despite the poor reputation of the Junji Ito Collection anime (I watched it, just like I watched other animes the internet said sucked), this would be good.
Enough ranting, it's midnight and I have to get up early. Let me know what you think.

How did I keep myself sane amidst a pandemic - My thoughts on books, anime, and restaurants.
Yet another review of The Shining
A plot so well written you would want to go in room 217
Hi there! This blog comes to you from a bored 19 year old who has a knack for reading crime thrillers, watching murder documentaries, and loves watching MasterChef just to see Gordon Ramsay. LOL. And did I mention that she also happens to be a Stephen King fan, because who isn’t? So here is where I try and convince you that The Shining  is the best book ever written and how Stanley Kubrick completely butchered the screenplay, as well as why pasta is life.
Welcome to the Rockies!
The story takes place in the town of Boulder, Colorado, where our main protagonist Jack Torrance gets a job as a caretaker of the famous Overlook Hotel. Winters in Boulder are harsh, and the hotel remains closed as travel is not permitted with all the heavy snowfall. Now Jack is a recovering alcoholic with anger issues which led to him breaking his son’s arm prior to where the story begins. This made Wendy, his wife, question her marriage and the safety of their five year old son,  Danny. Danny on the other hand isn’t your average five year old who just watches cartoons and plays with toys. He is aglow with a psychic voltage, and has frequent blackouts. In the words of old Mr Hallorann, the hotel’s head chef, Danny’s a shiner. When the Torrances meet Mr Hallorann, he feels an instant connection with Danny. He warns Jack about the hotel and its sinister secrets and how the previous caretaker, Delbert Grady, killed himself and his family. But Jack is sure that this huge and lonely hotel with its splendid views is just what he needs in order to earn back his family’s trust. But going to a haunted hotel with a troubled marriage and a psychic son? Maybe not the best idea. But in his defense, Jack doesn't believe in ghosts. Little does he know that’s about to change.
Snowbound at The Overlook
The Torrance's begin settling in the Overlook. But as winter closes in and the blizzards cut them off from the outer world, the hotel seems to develop a life of its own. Meanwhile, Jack starts growing restless, craving for a friendly drink with each passing day. He also starts experiencing hallucinations, and wonders if they are withdrawal symptoms. Danny on the other hand is experiencing his own share of ghostly sightings, like the terrifying lady in the bathtub of room 217 who seems to have never checked out of the hotel. In one instance, he witnesses her climbing out of the clawfoot tub and advancing towards him with her bloated belly and dry hair as he stands frozen in fear in a blood covered presidential suite. This narrative by King with all its details is the truly the most spine tingling I’ve ever read.  Later when Danny’s parents find him in the room, a thumb in his mouth, that is when Wendy truly realizes that they are not alone in that strange big hotel. Jack goes and sees the tub for himself, but the lady from before doesn't want to greet him. Wendy, in tears, sees that both her husband and her son are being tormented by this place and begs Jack to quit the job. Danny later calms his mom down, who is weeping uncontrollably, by telling her not to worry as his daddy doesn't have the shining, so there is nothing to worry about.
Have you never heard of REDRUM?
Sure you have. Read it backwards.  Yes, you got it right. And so did Danny after seeing this word in his visions countless times. It so turns out that Danny is much stronger than he looks and after failing to possess him, The Overlook has turned to an easier target - Jack. As Jack slowly starts to lose his mind, he gives in and starts drinking again from the bar in the ballroom. His hallucinations keep getting worse to the point he actually sees Mr Grady, the previous caretaker / murderer,  and even has a talk with him. Danny sees his changing behavior and so does his wife, who just doesn't see the man she fell in love with in his cold, distant eyes anymore. With everything going on, Wendy takes Danny to their apartment in the employee wing of the hotel and locks them inside in fear of Jack, who is slowly slipping away from reality. But turns out this move from her proves to be disastrous, as Wendy keeping Jack away from his own son is the last straw for him. In one of his many hallucinations, Jack  meets his predecessor,  his buddy Mr. Grady and the two have a disturbing conversation about how fun it is to kill your wife. Yes , no one trumps King when it comes to the unique combination of horror and psychological thrillers packed into one nail-biting plot!
In other words...
The only thing I liked about the movie was Jack Nicholson’s excellent acting. Apart from that Stanley Kubrick let go of many crucial parts which were essential to the story. He eliminated the hedge sequence in the book, which was terrifying to just read. The ending was just a complete mess.  I get that you can’t exactly get all the details right of a 500 page book, but at least do justice to the ones you have chosen. Anyways I’m gonna go sulk in my room over this. Bye
.
Is it too late to start Anime?
Hi there! Good to have you back! Ever since pandemic began, everyone’s been locked in their own house. So this led to me taking up a few hobbies like sketching and painting and binging on a whole lot of sitcoms.. My personal favorite is the alluring world of Anime. Several of my friends began watching it and I cannot exactly term it as peer pressure, but I did give in and start watching Anime too. And now my watchlist includes just a bunch of 2D characters with powers that even Superman himself can't fight. So this is my take on how a kryptonian can be defeated with Jutsu, as Mr Naruto would say. Lol. This one is for all the weebs out there.
Manga and Anime are not the same!
To put it simply, manga is a Japanese term for comics and graphic novels, whereas Anime is the term for Japanese animations.. There are many similarities  between them, as they both have been created by Osama Tezuka, who is considered as the Japanese version of Walt Disney. Now have you ever seen a simple comic book? The one with black and white newspaper illustrations - like Garfield. Manga is just like that -  A book of illustrations. Now we arrive at the perennial question - Manga or Anime, which is better. Both of them are equally interesting, but I personally have a soft spot for anime. The intro theme songs, intense background music, and the beat dropping right before a big fight move, all these factors pack a punch. You don’t get that adrenaline rush from just a book.
My first anime - Demon Slayer
The story begins with the main character Tanjiro, who returns home after selling charcoal in town to find his entire family murdered by demons. Pretty intense right? His sister, Nezuko, survives but there’s a twist - she turns into a demon herself.  This makes him vow to take revenge and he sets off to train with Sakonji, who has trained many of the elite members of the Demon Slayer Corps. After many years of training and a painful exam called the final selection, Tanjiro finally becomes a demon slayer and is off on missions along with his sister, who unlike most demons doesn’t consume human flesh. On his missions he meets Zenitsu and Inosuke, who both have excellent powers of their own. My favorite story arc was when the highest ranking slayers, known as the pillars, were introduced. But my words won’t do justice to their powers they possess. So simply get your geek on by watching this short yet amazing series.
The Tale of Naruto Uzumaki
The hidden leaf village is not so hidden anymore! The series I am currently watching is one of the most popular anime from 2020 - Naruto.   The story is set around the shinobi villages and their ninjas and how Naruto Uzumaki plans on being the next Hokage [the most powerful shinobi] of the leaf village. He is trained by some of the best ninjas the village has ever seen. Before graduating from the academy, he was a hyperactive boy with lots of energy who just wanted to be the best. After graduation, he was placed in team seven, along with Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. This team was trained by Kakashi Sensei who is known for wielding his Chidori and even the Sharingan. The sharingan, to put it simply, is a trait passed down in families. The Uchihas are known for their sharingans and hence it naturally comes to Sasuke as well. The mystery still remains unsolved as to how Kakashi got his sharingan, as he is not an Uchiha. But Naruto does have a super power as well. Not technically his powers per se,  but we can cut him some slack. After all it's not everyday you get to see a beast like the nine tailed fox sealed away in an 11 year old boy. In my opinion the story picks up Orochimaru’s entry, and it paves the way for Sasuke’s powers in the future. My favorite character has to be Sasuke Uchiha. With his effortless fighting skills and sarcastic yet cool personality, he definitely is an excellent shinobi. You have to start this show right away because once you have seen him use his fire style fireball jutsu.....the world just doesn't look the same anymore.
In other words...
My current watchlist includes Naruto Shippuden, Black Clover, One Piece, and a few other naruto spin offs. Anime was something I never thought I would like, but now as it turns out I can't get enough of it. So bye for now, if you need me I'll be at Ichiraku’s eating ramen with barbeque pork. And if you get this reference, have a bowl of ramen on me. K bye.
Home in a faraway land
Good to see you again ! Do you ever get that feeling of an intense craving for your favourite dish? Like say pasta or pizza? My favorite is pasta, but being raised in India, I can’t say no to a classic plate of butter naan and chicken tikka with a glass of buttermilk or chaas if you please. Of Course you can’t beat the taste of a home cooked meal, but let me tell you about the time I went to this amazing little Indian restaurant in Dubai with my family, and how the food there was absolutely heavenly.
Out and About in Dubai
Skyscrapers, Sleepless nights, Gold Souks and gigantic malls - these are the visions  you'd usually get when someone mentions Dubai. Well, they're mostly right! I went there with my family about 5 years ago. We stayed at the Ramada, which was right next to the Dubai Mall.  The mall happens to be strategically placed next to the Burj Khalifa and we got lucky enough to see mesmerizing musical fountain shows night after night. The streets are spick and span, and everyone follows the traffic regulations dutifully. We also went for the desert safari, which was no less than an actual roller coaster ride. We also visited the Gold Souk, and oh boy. The name definitely fulfills its purpose, as the entire street is occupied entirely by gold stores. Huge gold ornaments are on display like clothes on hangers. I personally don’t have a thing for gold jewellery, but my mom had the time of her life there fawning and gasping over every store we came across. Shortly after our visit here, we came across this beautiful little Indian restaurant, and you can call me old school but at the end of the day, this girl needs a desi meal, because trust me room service gets boring after a while.
Peshwa - Not your typical 5 star restaurant
Situated away from the hustle of the main city, this place still remains quite underrated. We stumbled across this hidden gem which saved us the efforts of getting back to the hotel for an overpriced lunch. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we could smell the aroma of a classic dal makhani  [ a simple gravy consisting of lentils infused with aromatic spices and hints of burnt chillies ] in the air. So we got a table and had a look at the menu and it was almost like being back home. The endless variety of gravies with paneer in almost every single one of them, to at least 6 different types of rotis, a little piece of heaven in this concrete jungle! We went ahead and ordered a simple meal of rotis and some paneer delicacy, along with dal and rice. Apart from the taste of the food, which was just heavenly, the overall ambience of the place in one word, was exquisite. The restaurant lived up to its very ethnic maharashtrian name. The food was served in those traditional style cutlery, reminding us of a simpler time.
A dish you just can’t miss
If you have a sweet tooth like me, you definitely have to try the coconut barfi from this place. Made from desiccated coconuts, sweetened condensed milk, a finely ground cardamom, and a hint of saffron, this dish is a match made in heaven. It was freshly made and we could tell it by the intoxicating aroma of pure ghee [clarified butter]. So just for a day, give yourself a break from watching calories and try this mouth watering dish because here’s something to live for.
In other words…
The next time I’m in Dubai, the first thing I will do is find out if the restaurant is still there. And probably avoid the Gold Souk this time. I will most certainly go for the desert safari, because it’s not everyday you get defy gravity and drive through the sand dunes like in a Fast and Furious movie. Lol.  Also thanks for bearing with me throughout this blog. See ya!

Note
I'm the non anime fan anon and "you might need to rethink that relationship" 😂😂😂, well I don't know about the relationship but I definitely haven't let him pick another anime as the show were going to watch. He did explain to me why he did the Utakata arc though. I have a thing where I can't NOT finish shows when I start them, the unfinished storyline stresses me out, but Naruto is a long show and he didn't know if I'd like it or anime. So he showed me an arc that was as self contained and short as possible. Plus he thought I would like Utakata. He was right, but I don't think he was prepared for how much I love Sasuke.
Mabey it's time to start another anime though. I want to give the medium another chance because I don't think its fair to judge it off of Naruto. I trust your opinion though, do you have any recommendations?
me getting asked for recommendations knowing my favorite anime is over 1000 chapters long:
Tumblr media
Well....One Piece is objectively one of the best manga ever written, but it’s very long and I recommend strictly the manga and then parts of the anime if you like it. I understand it’s a huge time commitment though so I understand if you’re just trying out anime it is too much.
I’m actually not a big anime fan. Most of the things I like are from when I vacuumed up whatever I came across (thus the Naruto) when I was young or are older because there’s something I find charming about 80s or 90s anime but when I see anything recent I just get a feeling of annoyance. And for some of the series I do like I don’t know if I recommend for someone unfamiliar with anime like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is one of my faves but I wouldn’t recommend it to a non-anime fan.
My top recommendation for literally anyone, whether they like anime or not, is Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood for the anime. (Do NOT watch the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime first). Literally just SO ridiculously good, tackles complex and difficult issues maturely and responsibly, is dark but still light-hearted and hopeful/positive.
One Punch Man the manga or the first season of the anime (I haven’t watched anything after that) has some problematic elements but is overall a really funny subversion of fighting anime with some amazing action.
I really like anime movies so if you want something short and haven’t seen any already considering their popularity Hayao Miyazaki’s movies (my fave is My Neighbor Totoro), or movies like Summer Wars or Akira (the Akira manga is good too)
If you think you’d like horror Junji Ito is a good manga artist to check out, the most popular horror manga author probably ever. Uzumaki is considered his magnum opus, but he also has a ton of short stories you can check out. You might have even heard of him already.
There’s some other ones I like, but there’s heavy nostalgia related to them. Sailor Moon is a fun, frivolous romp. I think the original anime had too much filler, but Sailor Moon Crystal cuts that out. Obviously I prefer the manga most, it’s written by a woman for girls so it doesn’t fall into being creepy or fanservice-y like a lot of other magical girl series and there’s a lot of gay shit in it which appeals to me.
The Digimon series is another nostalgic thing and I’m not going to pretend a newcomer would like Digimon Adventure or Adventure 02 specifically the dubs because they are objectively corny and dumb and made for kids (but I love them so much oh god). BUT Digimon Tamers is objectively amazing and way better than any kids show designed to sell toys has any right to be.
.....god I feel like I have to mention it. Now this one...this was my shit before Naruto. This was my original series when I became a weeb in 9th grade. Death Note. BUT LISTEN 1. you have to read the manga first, people will say watch the anime don’t listen to them 2. people will try to tell you it is a serious thought-provoking series. They are lying to you and themselves. Death Note is the dumbest most overdramatic shit ever. It is entertainment incarnate. I absolutely love it. If you read it don’t take it seriously just strap in and enjoy the ridiculousness.
Ouran High School Host Club: anime or manga. Just a fun inconsequential little series about a...high school host club.
I know sports anime are really popular but that’s just not my thing AT ALL so I can’t help there.
Also people will try to get you to read other long running shounen manga. Don’t listen to them. You hear about Bleach? Say no. My Hero Academia? NO. Black Clover? NO. Blue Exorcist? NO. Dr. Stone? NO. Attack on Titan? DOUBLE NO. (slightly unrelated but don’t listen to people that tell you to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion either)
Actually I heard Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter were good but I haven’t read them so I can’t say.
But realistically the only standard shounen anyone should be reading is like Fist of the North Star and Dragon Ball for historical purposes and ONE PIECE.

Fanfic Writer Friday!
Do you have any WIPs right now?
How long do you need for one chapter/short on average?
What is the general process of your writing?
The names of some WIPs (also note some I still have yet to write but at least I’ve got a title, plus brief description):
-Fullmetal Scales (Fullmetal Alchemist, mild Spiderman crossover): A Chimera!Ed fic in which Ed is captured by ex-state alchemist Curt Connors and turned into a chimera, people who have been combined with animals and can then take on a monstrous form of that creature. In Ed’s case, he was combined with numerous species of lizards, regenerating his lost limbs in the process. The story follows canon with the most major change being Ed’s transformation and a new subplot in which Connors attempts to turn everyone in Amestris into lizard chimeras.
-The Cursed Chronicles (HPHM): Basically my AU of HPHM, largely trying to fill in the blanks and thus change the story. Would love to add some other MCs after I make the first chapter.
-Tigress and Hound, a Friendship in Many Parts (HPHM): You all know this, a series of one-shots cataloguing the friendship between Judith Harris (@judediangelo75), both the good times and the bad.
-Children of Tamriel, Ebonheart Rising (Elder Scrolls): A story of a Nord, Dunmer and Argonian in 4E 201. With the return of the dragons and the start of the Skyrim Civil War, can an unlikely trio of battlemages rise to the occasion and face the dangers of Skyrim and Solstheim?
-Fox of Avarice (Naruto x Fullmetal Alchemist crossover) For his heroism in life, Greed is given a second chance in a different world by Truth. The only condition, to be sealed within one Naruto Uzumaki. Acting as part mentor, peacekeeper and friend to the young boy, Greed the Avaricious certainly has his work cut out for him.
(Note this is just some I’ve got a lot more but these are the ones I want to work on the most)
How long? Depends, if I really knuckle down I can a write a thousand or so words, often I add little bits or change details so it’s really a bit of a toss up in how long it will take me.
General process? I need to be a bit more organised about it but usually I come up with what I think is a cool idea and try to work canon of a series around it. I do a bit of research if needed, lastly I’ll put on a bit of music just so I’m not working in complete silence.

Why I Love Sakura Haruno
This is not responding to any hate, it's just me sharing my opinion.
Tumblr media
She Wasn't Born Into A Prestigious Clan
Sakura was born into a weak, unpopular clan and still became very powerful. She started off with no kekkei genkai or special abilities, and there wasn't really anything she could do. She was almost as hopeless as Rock Lee was as a child. This shows how hard she truly worked to get where she is now, even if she can't compare to her peers that were born with greater potential to become powerful. For example, Sasuke was destined to awaken a Sharingan and Naruto was both an Uzumaki and a Jinchuuriki. Sakura had nothing. Still, she became quite powerful. I think this is particularly stunning, and it's genuinely praiseworthy.
She worked for her power, and she worked hard. When Sakura was a child, she was completely weak. She had her smarts, but she lacked battle skill. We were shown her hard work with Tsunade later on. Although Sakura did start out with the upper hand having great chakra control, it doesn't mean that her journey to achieving a Yin Seal wasn't a long one. Even other Medical Ninja with exceptional chakra control weren't able to do this.
Sakura sometimes even passed out because of how hard she worked. It was shown once during her training with Tsunade, and another time after she healed an injured person. She truly pushed herself to the limit, and it's definitely a reason to at least respect her. I really enjoy characters who had to work harder for their power.
Tumblr media
Intelligence
Sakura's definitely intelligent, even if she isn't on par with Shikamaru or Kakashi. In classic Naruto, she explained various things to her teammates and was able to answer all 9 questions in the Chunin Exams without cheating. In addition, these questions were said to be too complicated for a mere genin. This didn't stop Sakura.
In original Naruto, Sakura lacked battle skill since she usually focused on being book smart. She knew practically everything in her grade and even things above her grade. Kakashi even calls Sakura Team 7's sharpest mind. In classic Naruto, Sakura even reminds me of Hermione from Harry Potter. Her intelligence definitely shined through more than anything in her early years.
Sakura was also very intelligent throughout the rest of the series, her analytical skills said to be better than Sasuke's Sharingan's by Sasuke himself. It's notable to mention that she usually depended on outsmarting her opponents in order to trick them. It's also notable to mention that this tactic often worked.
Tumblr media
Personality
I really love Sakura's personality. She's
intelligent, confident, and caring. She has a very quick temper, but she loves her friends and puts their needs above her own. I'd say that Sakura's weakness would be her feelings, and it's great to give a character a flaw that hinders them. For example, Hinata. Hinata's weakness is her gentle nature. In my opinion, It makes her more likeable. I like that Sakura has this weakness of letting her feelings get the best of her from time to time.
Sakura is very kind. We all know she is hotheaded and short-tempered, but her kindness does shine through. Although he might've been the enemy, Sakura didn't deny to help someone who was dying during the war. Even though her peers told her it could potentially be a bad idea, she took him in while being cautious at the same time. Sakura is shown being very kind to strangers in particular.
Sakura is also very caring. She cares about Naruto and his dreams to become Hokage, claiming she wouldn't let him die in the Great Ninja War and feeling dejected when he is hurt. In addition, She threatens Sai when he deems Naruto weak, as she has immense faith in the blonde. She cares about the man who became both a traitor and a criminal. What Sakura had for Sasuke was true love, even if it was one-sided. She didn't give up on him because she cared deeply about him and had hope he could still be saved even after he did so many unspeakable things. While it deterred more as Sasuke committed more horrible crimes, I still think Sakura always had a sliver of hope.
Sakura cares more about everyone than herself, and this is an upgrade from when she was young and selfish. She puts herself in harms way, even if it's just for the tiniest distraction. This was shown when she served as a distraction in the fight against Madara, running at him head-on so Sasuke and Naruto could attack. While this can be a liability since a Medical Ninja needs to survive, it shows just how much she cares. It's notable that this might not even kill her because of her quick regeneration. What can I say? Sakura's not perfect. But you know what? She has heart and that's something I admire tremendously.
Her confidence is certainly noteworthy. Sakura is very confident in herself. You can easily tell Sakura is confident just by watching her scenes in the Anime or reading them in the Manga. Sakura has trust in her abilities, and that's also something I tend to favor. I love how she is able to assert herself as well as be certain about her actions.
Her short temper is another one. This is a hit or miss, and is a big reason most people don't like her. Sakura is very hotheaded. She usually gets angry when Naruto voices something derogatory or is perverted and punches him. Most people consider this an act of violence or abuse, but I don't. I mean, you can't deny that he deserves it sometimes.. Her anger dies down pretty quickly, and she ends up brushing off Naruto's statements and smiles. I think this adds a little bit of spiciness, character, and imperfection. Short-tempered characters often bring forth comedy and are interesting and exciting to watch. This is another part of Sakura's personality which I love deeply. But, like I said before, this is pretty much a hit or miss and some people do not respect this.
Sakura is also determined. In The Forest Of Death, she takes on enemies much stronger than her so she can protect her teammates until they wake up. She needed a lot of help in this fight, but it's exemplary that she put herself in danger for Sasuke and Naruto. In addition, her determination is also apparent when she asks Tsunade to be her sensei. She works really hard until she finally becomes powerful. She even acquired a hate for losing after her training, making her intent on defeating her opponent.
Tumblr media
Abilities
Medical Ninjutsu is a favorite of mine. I've always wanted to be involved in medicine, so I appreciate all of the techniques and helpfulness shown in Naruto. I also enjoy watching Sakura and Tsunade's brute force be put into play. It's always exciting, not to mention Taijutsu is another favorite of mine.
Sakura is one of the best medical ninja out there. She mastered a rare technique at a very young age. This is the Mystical Palm Technique. Sakura was able to master it in roughly three months, while other medics weren't able to master it at all. Amazingly, she is also able to form a Yin Seal, which is even more rare than the Mystical Palm Technique. As I said before, even Shizune (A very skilled Medic) could not form the Yin Seal.
Furthermore, She has various powerful healing jutsu such as the 100 Healings Jutsu. The 100 Healings Jutsu allows Sakura to continue fighting while her body heals itself. This means she does not even have to stop to think about it or weave handsigns. In my opinion, this is a very useful and interesting jutsu. Sakura can withstand deathblows using this technique.
Speaking of the 100 Healings Jutsu, Sakura saved up chakra for three years. At one point in time, Tsunade forbade Sakura to perform surgeries or battle. This is because building up chakra in order to form the Yin seal drains the user's normal reserves of chakra. However, Sakura is actually able to divert some of this chakra back into her normal reserves and she is able to perform surgeries and fight again. It's unknown how she accomplished this, but it had to take some hard work and focus. It also had to take some intelligence to even think of it.
Sakura was very supportive during the Pain Invasion arc and the War arc. She summoned Katsuyu, who traveled around to aid fallen citizens and shinobi in both arcs. She successfully did her duty and mended the wounds of many people. Countless citizens would have died without Sakura's expertise and dedication. Every Medical Ninja had to weigh in greatly for these two arcs, showing just how serious they were.
As for Taijutsu, I think it's amazing how both Sakura and Tsunade fight. The women obtain their monstrous strength from transferring chakra into their fists and sometimes their legs. Another Taijutsu user, Choji, was able to defeat Jirobo by transferring his chakra into his fist and punching him. This proves just how effective this technique is. This also requires a vast amount of skill in Chakra Control, something that Sakura was shown having from the very beginning. In addition, Sakura is pretty good at evading attacks. I guess she was just destined to gain monstrous strength.
Tumblr media
Growth
This is commonly brought up. Sakura used to be weak, annoying, and selfish. All bad traits. As Sakura works and betters herself, she eventually becomes a powerful woman who thinks of others above herself.
In the early episodes of classic Naruto, Sakura badmouths Naruto. This is a line even Sasuke knew was going too far. After Sasuke calls her annoying, Sakura is able to sit down and sympathize with Naruto. She knows partly how he feels now, and vows to be nicer to him. In Shippuden when she is older, she always put her faith in Naruto. She would never badmouth Naruto again, and got angry when others such as Sai did. By this point, Sakura truly cares for Naruto and understands him more than she did before.
Another thing substandard about Sakura in classic Naruto would probably be her love towards Sasuke Uchiha. This was a typical 13-year-old crush and you can't deny it got annoying easily. She was obsessed with Sasuke as a young teen, but grew out of it once she got older. She has always loved Sasuke, but she was more calm and less boy crazy. There are scenes where Sasuke causes Sakura to blush, but that's nothing compared to how she acted as a young teen. Her feelings develop into true love, even if she only had a crush on him because of his calm attitude and good looks before. She truly cares about him and wants to save him in Shippuden, even if she doubts it sometimes.
Unlike when she was younger, Sakura often cares more about others than she does herself. This is shown a few times throughout the series. As I said before, she usually uses herself as a distraction so her teammates can attack. Moreover, she is not as selfish as she was regarding her feelings. She now takes other's personal feelings into account instead of her own. While she still does focus on her feelings sometimes, she's not entirely egocentric as she was before. Great Development.
Now on to her power. Most don't deny that Sakura was utterly weak during Classic Naruto, but in Shippuden we were able to see how strong she had gotten thanks to her hard work. She gained brute strength, evasion skills, and advanced Medical Ninjutsu. All of these are useful and supportive when in battle. Sakura doesn't need to be rescued as often as she did before, and it's amazing she finally became a bit more independent as well as more powerful.
Tumblr media
Bonds
Sakura is close friends with the two main characters, so of course her relationships come off as likeable. She is very supportive of our protagonist, Naruto, and puts a great deal of credence in him. Even if she couldn't, Sakura has always tried to understand and sympathize with Naruto. She believes in him and is there for him if he might need her. She does lash out at him sometimes, and he can be unknowingly rude to her, but not every relationship can be perfect. Naruto is determined to keep Sakura safe and is in love with her for quite a while. I think her relationship with Naruto is more notable than her relationship with Sasuke. Seeing Naruto and Sakura together is never a bad thing.
Next, her relationship with Sasuke. This is probably the most obvious one, as she is married to him. A big part of Sakura's motivation to get stronger involved bringing Sasuke back to the village. Sadly, she was not strong enough to match up to him and instead trusted Naruto would save him. Even when she tried to kill Sasuke, she couldn't do it because she loved him too much. Sakura had very deep feelings for him, even if that love was only one-sided. She has always wanted to be acknowledged by him since her youth, much like Naruto wanted to be acknowledged by this village. Finally, Sasuke did acknowledge her. He conveys that she is now someone people can depend on. Additionally, Sasuke accepts that no matter what he did to her she was always going to love him.
I feel like this next one is unpopular, but I adore the relationship between Sakura and Sai. Sakura started off angry at Sai for calling her ugly, but later tried to be more open-minded. This failed after Sai insulted Sasuke, of course. Later, Sai wished to learn more about human bonds and Sakura showed compassion towards him and aided him in this quest. Sakura and Sai's relationship is pretty sincere in my opinion. She helps him to understand people and bonds more, and they even rescue one another and share intimate moments. Not to mention Sakura showed interest in Sai.
Next is her rival and best friend, Ino. From the very beginning, Ino and Sakura were shown to be very competitive towards each other. It wasn't really surprising that we later found out they were childhood friends. Sakura was ridiculed for her large forehead, but Ino encouraged her to embrace her forehead rather than cover it with her bangs. Sakura continues to be shy about her forehead, and Ino constantly had to tell her she was just making it a big deal. Sakura and Ino become close friends, Ino helping her to become more confident around others. Eventually, Sakura decides to tell Ino that she has a crush on Sasuke. They become rivals at this point, competing in everything. Despite this, there are times where they really show their care for eachother. One of these moments include Ino fixing Sakura's hair after she cut it in the Forest Of Death. Also, let's mention that Sakura wanted to be like Ino when she was younger. If that isn't cute, I don't know what is.
Finally, her relationship with her senseis. Kakashi and Sakura are very understanding of each other. Kakashi is very protective of his student, reassures her, holds her in high regard, and never judges her for her mistakes. Sakura in return worries for him, shows him respect, defends him, and isn't afraid to tell him about her feelings. This is exactly what a sensei and student relationship should look like. A teacher who never belittles the student and a student who respects the teacher. Furthermore, there are many characters who understand Sakura, but Kakashi really takes the cake with this one. He is the one who understood her feelings and the reasons behind her mistakes.
Now the next teacher: Tsunade. Tsunade is really the one to thank for Sakura's strength and skillful Medical Ninjutsu. Sakura and Tsunade respect one another, and Tsunade compliments her for her achievements. Sakura always listened to Tsunade, and took her battle advice. Moreover, she also inherited some of Tsunade's views and ideals. Although Sakura was weak when she first started training, Tsunade acknowledged her potential and took her under her wing.
Tumblr media
Teamwork
Sakura is proficient in teamwork. Whether it be with her squad or one other person. Chiyo and Sakura made a great team, as Sakura made up for Chiyo's weaknesses and Chiyo made up for Sakura's. Chiyo did not have enough strength to destroy Hiruko, but Sakura did. Sakura had trouble evading Sasori's fast attacks, so Chiyo took control of her body. I really admired the way these two worked so well together. Another notable team involving Sakura would be her and Obito. Obito and Sakura worked hard to retrieve Sasuke from an alternate dimension. Obito was the one who could open gateways to the other dimension, but he did not have enough chakra to do so. Sakura helps out by activating her Yin Seal and pouring her chakra into Obito. With this, Sasuke is able to save himself.
Tumblr media
She does stand in the shadow of others, but Sakura is a phenomenal character. I personally feel her flaws and mistakes make her relatable, which makes her a character that you can be comfortable watching. I feel bad when I see Sakura being hated on for her tiny flaws but never given the benefit of the doubt. I believe this is because she is the main heroine and is judged and looked at more than the other women. In all honesty, Sakura's strengths shine through more than her flaws. I feel so inspired when I watch Sakura or think about her character. She proves you can change yourself for the better. She proves everyone makes mistakes. She proves you can truly be confident in yourself. And last but not least, She proves it's okay to show emotion. She's amazing. Truly.
Thank you for your time. If you dislike or even hate Sakura, I don't mind if you share why in the comments or in a DM! I respect everyone's opinion, and all I'm asking is for you to respect mine.

Think of a show or movie that had an ending you hated. How would you have rewritten it?
Okay, I love you for asking the question of the decenny. I cannot stress the importance of this question to me. I've even stopped everything, including drinking water, in order to write an answer to this question. I even opened up a google drive doc to go into long details about...
WHY Naruto Shippuden’s ending is absolute fucking trash, and how I would change it
FIRST of all, Naruto is the first anime that made me discover streaming sites. It made me want to become an artist as a young teen, and discover a creative world with deep writings. I was persuaded that Naruto was the HEIGHT of all anime, because of what it has brought into my life. I still think about this story everyday, and that’s the impact it has had on me. It was just so iconic. But you see, as I grew up, I ended up noticing the mistakes in the show, the countless fillers, the talk no jutsus, the repetitive plotlines, the mistreatment of women in the show, the poor writing, so on and so forth. The ending of the naruto franchise was a complete let down, introducing power-ups after power-ups late into the show, weird plotlines surrounding the Uchiha clan, incoherent political conflicts that stem from seemingly nothing tangible, all at the price of beautiful narrative potential that was introduced at the beginning of the story. And I think this is all the fault of Shonen Jump.
There’s something about weekly serialization of a manga, and constant concurrences that force you to create chapter after chapter, cliffhanger after cliffhanger, weird plot threads after plot holes, so on and so forth. Whether you want to or not, it ends up warping the story into something you hadn’t envisioned at the start. HELL!!! Masashi Kishimoto’s editors even forced the guy to introduce a main villain during the Chunin exam arc, creating Orochimaru, the first main villain of the series. Had that intervention not occured, we would have been closer to the original Naruto storyline that Masashi Kishimoto intended to create. To me, it’s a complete no brainer that the story needs to change at its beginning for it to have a truly satisfying ending; what people loved about Naruto was the journey, and the hard work behind each character. They loved Rock Lee vs Gaara because it was Diligence vs Talent, the Innate vs the Learned. (something Naruto vs Neji pretended to be; I mean Neji was preaching that Talent always beat hard work, and Naruto proved him right by using the Nine Tails’ Chakra he had since birth to beat him.)
You ask, how would I change the ending of a show that I hated? Well here’s how I would change the entirety of the naruto franchise to not be going to trash, in a few steps:
Delete Orochimaru, or make sure that when he dies he dies for good. I swear this dude comes back faster than cockroaches. stay down queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Uchiha Clan massacre should not be turned into “an admirable act of self-sacrifice” by Itachi because what the actual fuck? The Uchiha clan was a marginalised minority in the village of Konoha, and the Hokage kept pushing them and denying them rights, putting them next to police districts to monitor them, and treating them as demons that the clan itself started to prepare a revolution, which they then used as justification for their whole ethnic cleansing and fans of the show still think it was the right thing to do. Hello? Itachi is fucking crazy, a war puppet manipulated and groomed by the village into turning against his own clan for the sake of the people of Konoha!!! Where in your mind is that sane? Sasuke was right to go seek revenge against Itachi AND justice against the village.
Keeping that in mind, Sasuke’s plotline where he adamantly pursues more power away from the village is actually iconic, so I’d keep it that way, to contrast with Naruto mindlessly wanting to be the Hokage for fame and prestige, only to then be faced with the reality of this ninja world full of death. The story would be one of moral turmoil for Naruto, wondering if his dream is even worth pursuing after hearing the truth of the world, the Uchiha Clan and the horrors committed by the Konoha village. (Also we could add in the very easily forgotten fact that the Uzumaki Clan was also massacred during a war and there are only a few Uzumaki members left?)
NO RESURRECTION. NO RESURRECTION JUTSU. NO ONE COMES BACK FROM THE DEAD PLEASE!!!! even 13yo-me understood that this greatly undervalued the shock and importance of death in this show. Maybe it was cute when they did it with Gaara but like… for the entire konoha village during the pain arc? during the whole 4th ninja war??? get out.
Following that, the resurrection jutsu that orochimaru created should not exist too. fuck that shit. it was cool for 10 minutes and then they overused it.
Madara, Hashirama, The sage of Sixth Paths and whoever the fuck should STAY as legends, where legends belong: in the past.
Give actual plotlines, character growth and screetime to women. Sakura had so much potential, Hinata, Tenten, Temari, Ino… hell everyone had so much to do but they were rendered to… nothing. This is why everyone’s like “blah blah blah fuck Sakura” of fucking course you can’t like her; she’s been written to be a bland character when she had so much potential (i.e. chakra control. Tsunade’s apprentice, etc…)
How should the show end? With Naruto vs Sasuke, after everything, with the same intensity and ninja tricks. I just don’t want the inter-dimensional alien shit going on. Fuck the Otsutsuki clan. All my homies hate the Otsutsuki Clan.
Actually, if anything, I think there’s probably someone who wrote a fanfic where they actually fix everything I’m talking about here. So I’m gonna stop here before I start writing a 30 pages thesis on this.
Long story short: Weekly serialization kills good stories imo. Good stories take time, otherwise they lose their beauty. idk. I didn't reread myself and I wrote all of this at 5am instead of sleeping.
(and in terms of visuals, you can also see a drastic change in panelling, art style, dynamism and whatnot between old Naruto and Boruto. It’s so flagrant. but this is a story for another day. I have a lot of opinions on that)

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Three Hundred Nineteen: Been There Before ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino, Uzumaki Naruto ] [ SasuHina, blood ] [ Verse: A Light Amongst Shadows ] [ AO3 Link ]
He’s still figuring out this whole...Rinnegan thing.
One moment he’s with Naruto on an S-rank mission - something he never thought he’d have to do after having reformed the police force. The roles of shinobi have been changing since the end of the war, but...well, there’s little ignoring the power he wields, and just how necessary it can be.
The next, attempting to use space-time to flicker from a blow, addled by a heavy wound...Sasuke finds he’s no longer at the battlefield.
In fact...the sudden change leaves him so confused, he just sort of...stands there for a moment, clutching the wound in his side and looking over his surroundings. This...isn’t where he was just fighting alongside Naruto. In fact, he doesn’t even hear any sounds of conflict anymore.
And after a moment to really think...he realizes...he’s been here before.
He’s in Shi no Mori...the forty-fourth training ground where he and the rest of team seven took their second chūnin exam…!
What on earth…?
Spreading his senses, he does indeed feel the life forces of all the deadly beasts that roam the grounds. But alongside them, he finds human chakra signatures.
And...wait...is that…?
Brow furrowing, a hypothesis begins to form...but he’ll gather more evidence first.
Following one particularly-familiar aura, Sasuke keeps hidden in a cluster of undergrowth, one hand on his sword hilt.
...it is him.
Gaara.
But this isn’t the Godaime Kazekage Gaara. This is genin Gaara, flanked by his siblings and facing a squad of Ame shinobi.
...he’s in the past…
Apparently he needs to work on controlling his space-time ninjutsu. He didn’t just dodge that attack...he dodged several years. And in reverse! Well...all he has to do is hop forward and find the right time, and -
...wait a minute.
A spike of chakra flares to his left, and Sasuke gives it a wide-eyed look. Beyond the bushes, Gaara crushes his enemies, and even his siblings’ signatures reveal their revulsion.
But this chakra...he knows this chakra.
There’s a moment of tension before the Suna team takes their leave. For a moment, Sasuke watches them go. He’d almost forgotten how ruthless Gaara was back then. Funny how much people can change…
But now to the other matter.
“T-that was close…!”
“I...I-I never thought someone would...would…!”
“It’s quite unsettling, but...also the reality of being a shinobi. Part of these exams is to test if we truly are ready for such realities.”
“But still...Shino-kun...weren’t you even a l-little bit scared?”
“...I was. But we’ll be fine, Hinata. We’d best get going. The sooner we reach the end of this exam, the sooner we’ll be safe.”
“But we don’t know what the last exam will be!”
“Kiba, keep your voice down. Do you want those three to come back?”
“N-no way!”
“...come on.”
There’s a rustle, and the four signatures - one canine - begin to fade.
...he really needs to get back...and yet…
He never had the chance to know her back then. He’d been so consumed by his goals, such a quiet person had largely escaped his notice. But here she is...so small, so...different. The Hinata he knows now is still quiet...but far more confident. More tested.
Maybe he’ll just...stick around a little longer. He doesn’t have any memories of his wife from this era. Perhaps he’ll just borrow a few. But he can’t be seen...he can’t know what kind of paradoxes his presence might bring if he’s noticed. So, he’ll lay low.
Besides, he’s technically still wounded...he needs to find a place to patch up, and rest to regather his chakra enough for a jump back. So, in the meantime...he’ll just -
...wait…
...what day is it? Maybe if it’s early enough...maybe if he’s jumped far enough back...he could find Orochimaru, and just -!
No...no, he can’t interfere. He’s made his choices - changing them now may very well make his current existence obsolete. Time is a finicky thing...he can’t afford to go tinkering with it. But oh...the things he could tell his younger self. The heartache he could spare that poor lonely boy…
Sasuke’s head bows, having to physically fight the temptation. It wouldn’t just be himself he could save...how many were hurt, and killed, by the viper and their schemes? The third exam brings the coup with Suna, the attack against Konoha…
...and yet…
He heaves a curt sigh. There’s no time to even consider it. The past should remain the past. For now...he has other priorities.
Finding an alcove, he lifts the torn material of his shirt to bare the injured skin of his side with a hiss. It’s not too deep...but he can’t let it get infected.
Good thing he always comes prepared.
From his leg pack he draws a small canister: a poultice Hinata made for him only a few days ago. Careful fingers reach in and retrieve a smear, carefully painting it over the wound before applying gauze and winding it in place. Well...it’s hardly the patch job he’d like, but that can wait until he gets home.
For now, he needs to rest and let his chakra pool rejuvenate.
Nearby, he catches several fish, skewering them and cooking them over a katon-started campfire. The same strategy he and his team used...and may very well be using now. Some food will go a long way in rebuilding his energy.
Once that’s done, he covers his tracks and starts to move, following his senses to another campsite.
He’s never really paid Hinata’s teammates much mind. Kiba’s just another loudmouth, too reminiscent of Naruto to really invite the Uchiha’s company. And Shino is just...well, Sasuke respects him well enough. But he’s too similar in the sense that both can stand in complete silence and not say a word. Needless to say, any meeting between them has been rather useless in actually getting to know one another.
Perching far up in a tree above them, he cloaks his chakra and just...watches for a bit. At least he’s technically resting
“Are you sure about those mushrooms, Kiba-kun…?”
“Yeah! My mom cooks ‘em all the time. Trust me!”
“Many fungi that are edible also have near-duplicates that are deadly, or at least toxic,” Shino rebukes, adjusting his glasses. “We must be absolutely certain…”
“Gah, you guys are a bunch’a worry warts! I’m tellin’ ya, they’re fine!”
“Maybe we should, um...find something else to eat...j-just in case…”
“Don’t tell me you’re doubtin’ me too?”
“I just...d-don’t want us to get sick, Kiba-kun. There’s already enough to worry about in here...right?”
Sasuke quietly scoffs to himself. Leave it to Kiba to be so stubborn. Hinata and Shino are right...it’s a stupid thing to take a risk on in a place already so determined to kill you.
“Well we gotta eat something...if you guys don’t like my idea, come up with one yourself!”
“Fauna would probably be safer than flora...at least with more animals, they have ways to warn you if they’re v-venomous.”
“That’s true. Kiba, you’re able to make traps, right? We’d best try that.”
“Yeah, yeah...does that mean we’re makin’ camp here? Cuz we’ll have to wait for something to get caught. And no use in trying to circle back - I bet we’d never find our way in this place…”
“I suppose we can. And we’ll need to take shifts sleeping - someone should be awake at all times to keep watch.”
As the team figure out dynamics, Sasuke dozes, feeling his energy levels slowly rise. Another few hours, and he’ll have the chakra to leap back to the present. Well...his present. It’s a bit of a relative thing, after all.
They catch a few small animals to skin and cook, talking quietly as the day fades. Hinata offers to take first watch, with Kiba next, and then Shino.
“Be sure to use your Byakugan when you can. We can’t know what direction a threat might come from.”
“R-right! Don’t worry, I’m ready.”
...oh crap. Wait -!
He can sense her flare in chakra, and Sasuke knows: there’s no hiding from her kekkei genkai. And he has no idea what her range is at this age - only that his Hinata can see ten kilometers in one direction. He needs to shunshin, and fast…!
“...huh…?” Turning, Hinata looks up the tree they’ve made camp under, narrowing her focus. That’s funny...she could have sworn she saw someone, but...there’s no one there now…
“Everything okay?”
“...yeah. I just thought I saw…”
“What?”
“...never mind.”
Stumbling a few steps, Sasuke takes a moment to regain his sense of balance. Jumping that far really does a number on his equilibrium...and...whoa.
...looks like he missed one hell of a fight.
Craters dot the landscape, which is bathed in twilight. He’d recognize the impacts of Rasengans anywhere.
Speaking of which...where is -?
“OI!”
Grunting, Sasuke bows under the weight of Naruto tackling him from behind. “Get...off...me…!”
“Where the HELL have you been?!” the blond screeches, shaking him like a ragdoll. “I been lookin’ for hours, ‘ttebayo! I thought you were dead somewhere!”
“No...just took an unexpected detour.”
“Huh?”
“Guess I still need some practice with the Rinnegan...went to jump from an attack, and ended up miles away...and in the past.”
“WHAT?!”
“Look, I’ll...explain on the way. I’ve got a wound that needs tending, and we need to report back. I take it you resolved things…?”
“Of course I did! Told Kakashi-sensei I wouldn’t need ya...but I didn’t think you’d up and bail on me!”
“I didn’t bail! I told you, the Rinnegan -!”
“Yeah, yeah...excuses, excuses.”
“You want to hear the story, or not?”
“...okay, yeah, I do. Let’s get going.”
“So, I think you saw that blow that threw me up in the air a few hundred feet? So on the way back down, I…” Footsteps carry them from the battlefield, Sasuke recounting his little misadventure.
But he really can’t wait to tell Hinata who he saw.
                                                            .oOo.
Well, it had to happen eventually: some time travel shenanigans, woo! In reality I'd like this topic to be one I'd write, well...MORE with, but dailies have to be kept a reasonable length, so...maybe I'll do a proper oneshot or a short series on it someday after the year is over. We'll have to see! Because Sasuke ending up meeting a past Hinata is a really cute idea. Buuut for now, this is all I have the time and energy for ;w;      So on that note, I better call it a night! Thanks for reading~

And the plot thickens...
So, I just read chapter 38 of the Boruto manga and to say the shit hit the fan would be the understatement of the century.
I have been pretty apathetic about Kara on the whole, but I do have to admit the whole deal with Jigen, the Karma seal and the role that the Ootsutsuki clan plays in the whole matter do have me very intrigued (indeed, what this chapter just revealed about Jigen and his connection to the Ootsutsuki is the primary reason why I’m not calling BS on what just happened).
Now, based on the information that this and other recent chapters have provided, I have decided to make some theories about what exactly is happening here, and some predictions of what might happen in the future (and dear ladies and gentlemen, if things just got incredibly bleak, I can’t help it but think they are going to become even worse).
More after the cut:
First, chapter 35 revealed that Kaguya didn’t come alone to the Naruto world back in the times prior to the beginning of the Shinobi era: She had a companion with her. Something happened to him and he was forgotten by history. However, in the same temple/shrine where Sasuke learned about his existence, he also found a confined Juubi in immature form, who was also connected to the mysterious Ootsutsuki: Jigen extracted some of the chakra from the Juubi and his body acquired an appearance very similar to the unknown Ootsutsuki.
Now this chapter has finally revealed his name: Ootsutsuki Isshiki. Furthermore, now we know what Jigen actual goal is: To create a proper “vessel” for Isshiki as he himself is unfit to wield Isshiki’s power, given that his body will be destroyed if he uses it for too long. This is the reason why he needs Kawaki, whose body seems to be very compatible with Isshiki’s chakra.
However, Jigen’s dialogue in the final page and his reaction to the damage his body incurred makes me believe there is more at play here. I think this has to do with what has been commented about the Karma seal in recent chapters (how it seems similar to the Mitotic Regeneration jutsu, which itself was apparently created in ancient times), not to mention Jigen’s reaction upon learning from Delta that Boruto also has a Karma seal (“Momoshiki, you sly fox! You created another vessel as you died”), made in parallel to a panel that had Boruto in Momoshiki’s grasp.
Long story short: I don’t think the man we have seen all these chapters acting as the leader of Kara is actually “Jigen” per se. I think it is rather Isshiki himself, with his mind/conscience/soul inhabiting the body of the man once known as Jigen and using him as a vessel/host, similar to how Orochimaru used the Living Corpse Reincarnation jutsu in the past to transfer his soul between different bodies, or how Kaguya took control over Madara’s body after the later enacted the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
I think the key for this is in the Karma seal itself: My theory is that it’s a cursed seal that contains some of the chakra as well as a piece of the mind/conscience/soul from the member of the Ootsutsuki clan that casted it, preserved in something akin to stasis or hibernation. It’s possible that eventually, the mind/soul of the Ootsutsuki “reawakens” due to repeated use of the seal and takes control over the body of the vessel. This supposition is  based on how Kawaki also took an appearance similar to Isshiki the last time he used the Karma seal while confronting Jigen, with the latter being surprised about how much Kawaki had “advanced”. It’s possible however that another “ritual” or procedure might also be required for the Ootsutsuki to take complete control of the vessel, given not only Kara’s need of recovering Kawaki from Konoha, but also what Jigen mentioned once about needing to “complete” the vessel.
I think this also ties on why Momoshiki placed the Karma seal on Boruto: The phantom/vision that Boruto saw of Momoshiki after giving him the killing blow commented on how Boruto had an impressive lineage (product of having both Uzumaki and Hyuuga blood, clans who descended directly from the Ootsutsuki themselves). He then stated that “one day, those blue eyes of yours will cause you to lose everything you hold dear”, a clear reference to Boruto’s Jougan, which while not featured yet in the manga, has actually been prominent in the anime, often giving Boruto the needed strength to surpass enemies far more powerful than him. I think the idea here is that Momoshiki realized that with his strong Ootsutsuki heritage, Boruto was the perfect “vessel” for him to reincarnate into, hence why he placed the Karma seal on his hand and made such a cryptic and fatidic statement.
Continuing with the theory about the Karma seal holding the mind/soul of the Ootsutsuki, my hypothesis is that back in the ancient era, when Kaguya and Isshiki first arrived to Naruto’s world, some sort or falling out between them ensued that resulted in a battle (it’s likely that this happened after Kaguya ate the fruit from the God Tree and decided to keep the world and its chakra for herself). Isshiki lost the fight and was almost killed, however he managed to transfer his mind/soul to a vessel through the Karma seal (probably casting it on some unfortunate human that was just passing).
Time later, after gaining control over his host, Isshiki probably managed to also eat the fruit from the God Tree (possibly by using the Space Time Jutsu to travel to another dimension) in order to get revenge on Kaguya, but the body of his new vessel was unable to contain so much power. He was thus forced to separate from the godly chakra he absorbed from the God Tree, which reformed into an immature Juubi that was chained into the shrine that Sasuke found. Since then, it’s possible that Isshiki has been roaming through multiple dimensions, placing the Karma seal on multiple hosts, in search of the one vessel capable of holding the full power of the Juubi and the Ootsutsuki clan, only recently returning to Naruto’s world after Kaguya’s final defeat. It’s also possible that the fight with Isshiki was what prompted Kaguya to start creating the White Zetsu army, in order to defend from a vengeful Isshiki or any other member of her kin coming to her world.
As to how all this ties to the Mitotic Regeneration, the jutsu was apparently taught to Tsunade by her grandmother, Uzumaki Mito. It’s possible that it was originally derived from a procedure similar to casting the Karma seal, and passed down through generations of the Uzumaki clan.
And now, for a prediction of the future:
Remember how in the very first chapter of the manga/anime we had that very grim flash forward? Boruto is about to fight against Kawaki on a ruined Konoha, with the implication that not only Kawaki destroyed the city but also might have killed Naruto. Kawaki then declares that the he is going to send Boruto to where he sent the 7th Hokage and that the “age of shinobi is over”. Boruto defiantly reveals his Jougan as well as the power of his Karma seal, while declaring that he is still a ninja.
The thing is that, based on what he have seen of Kawaki so far in the manga, that flash forward no longer makes sense. While Kawaki started as really hostile and mistrustful due to all the harsh experiences he suffered, he is actually a good natured person deep down. And after the brief time spent with Naruto and his family, he has developed genuine affection for them (even for Boruto, with whom he started on pretty bad terms) and decided to become a ninja. He also hates Jigen with all his guts after the hell his “father” made him experience.
Considering what we have seen of him so far, it just doesn’t make sense that Kawaki would eventually turn into such a vengeful and ungrateful prick that would betray/kill Naruto, not to mention destroy Konoha and try to do the same to the entire Shinobi world. So, my personal speculation: The guy we saw in the flash forward is not “Kawaki” per se, but rather Isshiki controlling Kawaki as his new vessel. If this theory about the Karma seal is true, I have to assume that at some point in the future, Jigen will finally capture Kawaki and “complete” him as the new vessel, with Isshiki then discarding Jigen’s body and taking over Kawaki’s. It’s even possible that when he talks about “sending Boruto to where the 7th is”, it might mean sealing him in the same dimension where Jigen sealed Naruto.
As for Boruto and his own Karma seal… well, he is the protagonist of the series and if he inherited anything from his father, it was the stubbornness. You have to assume that Momoshiki’s conscience/soul will eventually reawaken and try to take control over Boruto, but the Blonde Knucklehead Jr. will manage to subdue him and retain the power of the Karma for himself. Hell, Boruto might even manage to befriend or ally himself with Momoshiki, kinda like how Naruto eventually befriended Kurama. The apple doesn’t fall that far from the tree.
Even then, if everything I’m saying here is true, I foresee plenty of bleak things: There are several future tragedies and hardships awaiting Boruto, who knows if Kawaki can be rescued from Isshiki’s grasp, and Naruto might not be freed from the sealing until the very end of the story.
