Watched the MLB movie and I just. I WANT to gush about it but the fact that Marinette’s regular voice actor and her singing voice actor sound SO different just took me out of it every time and left me feeling very disengaged;; At least Adrien’s singing voice kind of sounds like his speaking voice (and Gabriel’s is 👌 bc my king Keith Silverstein can actually sing and he can sing REALLY fucking well) but Marinette’s. The voices are COMPLETELY different and it threw me off every single time. Like obviously her singing voice is really good and I understand why they picked that person to do her songs but bro you could have at least TRIED to get someone that sounds similar to Cristina Vee. It drove me nuts every time she sang bc I was like “That is CLEARLY a different person entirely!!”

I’m realizing this might have been a dubbing issue but still 😭 I feel like I would have enjoyed the movie way more if it didn’t look like Marinette was lip syncing the entire time bc there was such a huge disconnect between her speaking and singing voice

#Also I can’t fucking believe they did that to my boy Plagg. They RUINED him #He did not deserve that #Miraculous Ladybug #MLB #MLB movie #ALSO. Also. Personally. I don’t think it needed to be a musical #Bc that was very jarring in itself I was not expecting it #Since Miraculous isn’t a musical normally anyway!!#They probably could have fit in a lot more plot and made the story flow better if they took out all the songs #And replaced them with actual character development and stuff.#Idk it just feels like they tried to make it like a Disney film. And it didn’t quite fit with the story #I WILL say tho the character models were top notch. Marinette with FRECKLES?? I was looking for Lockwood and Co FanFiction the last few nights because I’m starved and was disappointed to find it’s mostly Locklyle stuff. I have no problem with the ship but godddd such a rich, complicated world needs non shipping fics.

I think of so many stupid shenanigans between Wriothesley and his daughters in the Addison Lee verse. They tell Wriothesley crazy shit all the time, their daddy-daughter secrets, and it drives Neuvillette nuts that Wriothesley won't snitch.

Sigewinne, whispering into his ear: Today at school I punched a boy because he was being mean. I waited until it was recess, and made sure that no one was watching, and I punched him. Everyone knows he is a liar, so noooo one believed him when he cried about it. And Sigewinne is aaaalways a superstar so Mr Vautrin didn't suspect a thing !

Wriothesley, mildly concerned: Uh huh.

Sigewinne: Papa would say Sigewinne has to be nice to everyone, but, Sigewinne thinks bullies need to get punched sometimes, b'cos, b'cos otherwise, they think everyone is just gonna let them be mean

Wriothesley: Y'know what. That's fair

#They tend to play with him more than Neuvillette because he can match their energies #but Neuvillette usually is who they'd run to when they #need calmness and comfort #at night. when they're all asleep. Neuv would pin his husband down and be like. Tell me. Tell me the secrets.#and Wriothesley is like Noooooooo snitches get stitches Neuv #obviously if it's serious he'd let him know. but. if Carole comes up to him and is like daddy I secretly put a roach in Mr Vautrin's lunch #he'd be like. The point is to be nice #and daddy is nice isn't he. even if he says bad words sometimes.#but neuvillette is like No. No Bad Words. It is considered socially inappropriate for your age group. When you are older #you can decide if you want to use them. however. there are some rules in the classroom and I do not want you girls to get into trouble.#if you get into the habit of cursing like your dad. it'd be hard to keep away from them when you are in class. and bad words frighten papa #so. I ask that you ladies do not use them.#but like I don't think. they'd Punish the kids. the swear jar isn't even like. a punishment. it is a swear tax. every time you say bad word #you have to pay the swear tax. and whatever's in the jar gets taken out for ice cream or whatever to make papa feel better #[ this is how wriothesley explain it ]#and it leads to stuff like. #it's also fine to look at a big can of drama worms and decide you're not gonna touch it actually even if you have experience to contribute #I've been at this shit for over 25 years and I'm so tired of the same disk horse corpse dragged out and beaten again every few weeks/months #but even with newer topics (or less fight-inducing topics) i tend to just keep my opinions and experiences to myself #because i don't feel qualified to talk about it lmao #i don't do tons of physical plane spells and stuff #i don't have rows of jars full of herbs from my garden or wherever #and all the other stereotypical witchy stuff #i don't have a shop i don't do classes (as student or teacher) i don't do group work i don't have an altar etc etc etc #honestly a lot of my workings have been in the astral or whatever you want to call the over the hedge or up/down the tree place #it doesn't help that the first 10-15 years i was practicing i ended up with a lot of people trying to tell me i was doing witchcraft wrong #so i just don't talk much about it #but i feel like there's a lot of pressure these days to share share share #and to have an opinion on everything #and that just isn't true and i think more people need to hear that it's ok to not even share that you're a witch or other kind of magic use

I feel like a member of my team has just done "I don't want to delegate this task so I will delegate it as poorly as possible so I wind up having to do it."

For an added layer of perversity, she definitely wants someone else to do the task; I think she's just so unused to delegating that, finally surrendering to the necessity of it after years, she's done a wretched job of giving us the tools or explanations we need to do the task she's asked us to do for her.
