McAlso, yesterday me father took me to a shooting range since I talked to him about the guy snooping around my house. It was a unique bonding moment we’ve never had before. Considering my dad doesn’t look like the kind of person to even own a gun, it was funny to see him jump whenever a shot was made that didn’t involve him pulling the trigger. My dad is a dork and I love him.

#i have realised that the ‘fast n loose’ method for churning out a fic doesnt work for me actually #i am so sad that so much of that fic was skipped- or told and not shown- or brushed over in favour of me forcing it out quickly #i know i did it for a good reason- that if i took my time with it and it grew bigger and bigger that there was a risk i would have exhausted #myself and not finished it at all which would have been way worse #i think actually taking 3 months to craft 15k chapters with many drafts makes me happier than churning out 4k in a week #that being said im so glad its finished and that- somehow- it did so much better than i would have ever dreamed <33 #now i can go back and make it what i want it to be without the pressure of racing against my own stamina #and. if im really honest. i didnt think i would still be into avatar for this long lmao #i thought id lose the brainrot at around month three so i had to finish the fic before then #and yet. month 7 and i draw spider in my sketchbook every day. i think about him every spare minute.#the brainrot is still kicking and im happy #anyway here i go to dive back into that fic and add even more angst and whump and maybe another hug. if spider is lucky #i also want to write a little one shot about Ngaire properly taking care of spider after something bad happens #but idk if people wanna read OC stuff and its certainly not my comfort zone so i might keep it to myself #N E WAY this was the biggest and dumbest ramble to myself about my own fics lmao i should really shut up and just go write :’)

it does genuinely make me really upset how poorly the entire game treats him btw. constantly you are supposed to think of him as annoying (and purposely so), iirc his locked heart quest is framed so that you're supposed to think of him as being insensitive and slightly rude (you have to die to theseus and asterius a few times each, and after youve fulfilled those specific requirements hell ask if you can get him an autograph from asterius), hes constantly called lazy by just about everyone because he has a hard time staying awake (he is. sleep incarnate. he Is sleep), his own mother refuses to interact with him because hes "too attached" for his age, basically every interaction he has with everyone around the House is them chastising him for not doing his job well enough (a job which technically doesnt actually need to be done, mind you, much less does it need to be done by a god. a shade could do it. the ledger fills itself out, all he does it make sure that it is accurate) (save for achilles. achilles is kind to him as far as i remember). just about everyone is mean to him and you are supposed to think that they are right for it.

hes genuinely one of the kindest characters in the whole game :( his jokes could seem meanspirited at face-value but theyre not :( i mean all he interacts with all day (or night) are shades (extremely briefly because there are so many) and people who dont like him, of course hes gonna try like. literally anything to lighten the mood. hes literally just autistic and has chronic fatigue and everyone hates him for it :(

#also the way he startles awake makes me really sad bc we do that too #every gime we wake up from an accidental nap in any way other than on our own we wake up literally terrified #because we used to be woken up by being yelled at in the face or having water thrown on us or anything else that is just #a really bad way to wake someone up. if we hear literally any footsteps outside our bedroom door it doesnt matter how soundly #we were asleep before that‚ we are immediately up like a shot and scared that we did something wrong #and like. when you first enter the house if you dont walk slowly and go on the complete opposite side of the hallway he Will startle awake #like i might be reaching or projecting too much but like. thats definitely trauma from however many possible centuries that hes #had to spend being rudely awoken by the people around him #its supposed to be funny that you scare him awake i think too. which is fucked #it makes me sad. he deserves better #i hope they treat him better in the second game
