I noticed on some of ur artworks (specifically the unique magic posters), that u have a textured look to em, like paper or grain ... i wanted to ask how u get that effect? is it a brush, a filter, or like an overlay/png u use ... ? pls tell me!! ;v; I really like how the texture looks, so i wanted to know how 2 do it since ure a very big inspo 2 me LAWL ... I've been doing art practices in diff styles i find, so, i wanted to know a bit more how you do it :^D

thank you! :D :D :D it's usually photos/textures of paper that I've messed around with; I have a bunch of free/paid/ones I took myself. anytime I see good photos of paper I add it to the collection...it is my weakness. 😔

I mostly use Photoshop, but this should work in any program that supports blending modes (also I did this in like an hour to use as an example, please forgive it :')

then mess around with the blending mode to see how it looks -- in this case I went with overlay, but soft light and hard light are usually good ones too, it really depends on the texture:

then with a bunch of messing around with opacity/colors/saturation/levels/adding in a bit more texture until I like how it looks:

et voilà, texture! (waves hands)

#art #how do art #twisted wonderland #it's a general tutorial i guess but just cause it's grim #usually i end up using a couple different papers on top of each other with bits masked out/levels super messed with and the like #it is super fun to just mess around with and throw things on and see how they look!#but it is also very easy to waaaay overdo so uhhhh exercise caution i guess. less is often more and all #once you start layering textures on there it's just difficult to stop #dangit art stop being so fun #(this also tends to screw with your colors and values a lot so always check and adjust as you go!)#(if you don't want any color influence at all you can just turn the saturation of the paper layer all the way down so it's pure grayscale)

#I just wanted to see if there was a recording function on my laptop and there is! It looks interesting so I thought I'd share #Imagine the first protomen album playing in the background - It's what I was listening to actually while painting haha #The colors look terrible on mobile... I don't want to deal with that 😭 it's more vibrant on my computer #Anyways the recorder only recorded the main photoshop window.#it’s strange not to see my screen not half covered by references along with the layers/history haha When I stream on discord it does it too #I was getting really annoyed and bored with the rendering process I had grown accustomed too #Lazy sketches and thousands of transparent brushstrokes of layers were getting to me - almost a watercolor technique?#Been messing around a lot and this painting method is quite fun actually - I think that's what is most important - the results be damned #I had stopped touching the liquify and smudge tool for a really long time and I've been using it for this #So yes I've been enjoying myself and to change the current more I've been doing a lot developed sketches too #also....Sometimes I doodle chibi VHD while in class...would anyone actually be interested if I post them on here? ♡(๑´• .̫ •ू`๑)

#wind howls #im going to be near unbearable these next few days bc theres a heat wave starting tomorrow/today until thursday and i will hate being alive #but i will be so nice. i will be so nice about it. not to it. i hate the weather. but i will be so nice to those around me despite it.#this sounds so dramatic but i get so depressed and upset when its too hot out like it really messes with me bad #i miss the winter. my god #i cant wait to when i start playing an eladrin. i will have a lot of time being so so so mad forever in summer form. bc i dont like summer.#can everyone pray that from july 10th and onwards it somehow gets super fresh and chilly (for summer weather) in ohio #i dont know how i will manage to sleep alongside my boyfriend otherwise. i will need a billion fans and 17 ice packs forever. ill die.#i was not built for summer i love cold i love being chilly i love layers i love soups and i love looking goofy in a big coat in the snow #sigh.........#this weather will not get the best of me but it sure is working hard at it. goodnight

LORILLEE IS BACK WITH PHOTOSHOP ART 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥#every now and again i like to put effort into something just to remind everybody that i can actually draw #well i say that but to be honest i put a lot of effort into those ms paint ''diego fey REAL'' doodles #but half of that is just because humans are a . something. to draw. and urban backgrounds are my worst nemesis #and also trying to work with ms paint to like slightly transform things is an incredible pain in the behind #anyways. yeagh 😎👍 behold the power of miego. getting me to actually finish something in photoshop for the first time in months #anyways. ive discovered the secret to getting me to draw stuff on photoshop. prepare yourselves accordingly #what i need to do is sketch & line something in ms paint. and then directly trace it over into photoshop #and then i can go ham #see because the reason i never did this before was because i would sketch things in ms paint #and try to line them in photoshop and it simply Wouldnt Work.#so i had assumed that if i wanted to draw in photoshop id have to sketch in it first. yknow. which i cannot do for some reason #something about the way the pen feels and the . its like the smoothing setting is on even when its on 0 percent. you know. anyways #but with this one i drew mia in ms paint as per usual . and i wanted to mess around with color & light #and i triedddd to do it in ms paint but unfortunately as you can probably imagine. doing stuff like this without layer filters #can get a little difficult. if you know what youre doing its obviously going to be easier but that being said i do not #when i pick colors i am literlaly just wildly guessing 😭🙏 which is fine for more straightforward coloring/shading #but not quite here. which is why i wanted to take a stab at it in the first place #so anyways i was like FINE WHATEVER and tried tracing the lineart in photoshop so i could take a stab at coloring in there #and i was . enlightened. (no pun intended). it WORKS #so anyways . you may actually be able to expect. some photoshop art from me #well ok thats a lie never expect art from me. but we can all dream together #anyways they really are the star-crossed doomed by the narrative romance ever. everything to me

I found the thing to dunk on Elon for regarding the rocket launch.

A lot of experts in the rocket community were questioning Elon's decision not to create a flame diverter.

For those unaware, huge rockets like this usually have giant trenches underneath to channel the flames, exhaust, and debris safely.

NASA's Kennedy Space Center has a flame trench that is 571 feet long, 58 feet wide, and 42 feet high and is built with concrete and refractory brick and bisects the pad at ground level.

But giant trenches are costly and can make working on the rocket on the launch pad inconvenient. So Elon wanted to try forgoing the flame diverter even though he was launching the largest rocket ever built with the most exhaust ever output.

And now he covered an entire town with a layer of rocket dust.

Exploding the rocket was normal and expected.

Not giving a shit about the town around the launch site... fucking infuriating.
