Okay I’ve had ideas for this character for a little bit now I just have no energy to draw rn so I’m just gonna talk about the ideas i have for a bit

OPTION 1: FAIRY

So basically this character is a fairy who got their wings cut off bc they were being held at the fairy godmother's potion factory (the idea being that some potion recipies called for fairy wings and fairy godmother's not gonna sacrifice her own so like.)

ANYWAY shrek and gang bust in and wreck shop in the second movie and s/i (still unnamed) is like

but they don't notice them in the chaos and theyre trying to escape with the potion so s/i just escapes on their own

they travel on their own for a while until theyre taken in by a witch and her daughter for a bit. they don't stay forever, just long enough to get their bearings but they end up befriending the little witch girl and so when they leave the little girl gives them her old Spellbook for Babies bc "if she can't do fairy magic anymore, maybe she could try witchcraft?"

OPTION 2: BIG RED RIDING HOOD

OKAY THIS IS ANOTHER IDEA I HAD that had to do with my headcanon for wolfie in that he's actually really close with little red and they consider eachother family (Little Red calls him "Grandma Wolfie" and its so cute)

but basically my s/i idea was gonna be Little Red's mom, who maybe might have had a similar story before little red was born? IDK id kinda like to go into the. worldbuilding. of shrek ajsdnfvkoajnfckajnf sorry i just realized how insane i sound BUT HEAR ME OUT i adore fairytale-based worldbuilding (one of my favorite books is Quite Contrary by Richard Roberts, which has REALLY REALLY COOL worldbuilding that heavily revolves around Little Red Riding Hood)

so my idea was kinda that like how fairytales are retold and rewritten over and over, maybe their stories happen over and over too, which can manifest in family lines like Little red and her mom, and maybe her mom before, or in reoccuring roles like the Fairy Godmother

Deltarune Classpect Assignment, or: We've Been Godless For a Very Long Time Y'all

Everything that happens next can be blamed on the tumblr user @vriskologymajor. They literally asked for this to happen in response to me stating i have Some thoughts on the subject x. Enjoy the carnage lmao

Note that this whole analysis is over 2000 words long. I'm putting everything below Susie under the cut but there's also an analysis of Noelle, Kris, Ralsei, Berdly and a surprise someone in there. Please read it. Pretty please.

Here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to provide the classpects i believe the main characters can be aligned with and my reasoning for both parts of the title. Be aware this is my own personal opinion and every classpect analyst's opinion is worth its salt because, frankly, classpects are insane. Okay. God. Let's get to this.

Susie // Knight of Rage

Susie's classpect might for real be the easiest and most obvious one I've ever assigned. It seems incredibly open-and-shut once you think about it. I don't think many are going to disagree with at least the aspect assignment but I'm going to monologue about it some more anyway because there's a lot more in support of this than some might think and it's actually pretty interesting.

Rage is the immovable object of aspects - Ragebound are incredibly volatile not only to their environment but to narrative itself. They're unpredictable and can quite literally go against the powers that be (i.e. narrate the story) because they don't feel like following their directions. And Susie does that routinely - she cuts off the player's choice and states their decisions don't matter while being inside an RPG and, in Chapter 1, quite literally refuses to listen to their commands. She is the one that initiates the revelation that her and Ralsei can act on their own, and picks a third option from the two given to the player, splitting the party and leaving its leader alone.

When it comes to less meta elements of this aspect, the main thing that comes up is her strong emotions. Contrary to the name, Rage is not only about anger. It is largely about negative emotions, though. In addition to anger, doubt, bitterness, aggressiveness or fear (specifically of being betrayed, left alone or lied to) are all emotions Susie exhibits quite a lot. Fortunately, she finds a way to utilize those and vent them out instead of bottling them up or lashing out, and she does that by... oh man, utilizing them? If only there was a class that did that, huh-

Yeah, Knights have a tendency to weaponize the elements of their aspect A Lot. With a Knight of Rage, it's something among the lines of a barbarian in DnD - they utilize their negative emotions to gain strength, using it as a means for attack and protection; both literally and on a more interpersonal level. And Susie does both! She's a bully both before and during a good part of Chapter 1 but it seems very much so that she's projecting, especially when it comes to the entry on Noelle's blog. It's a defense mechanism to hurt before you get hurt.

It's not surprising in the slightest - Knights tend to have incredibly low self-esteems. Later on she switches to a different strategy - she lets her strong emotions fuel her attacks and even further down the line, her S-Actions. Her demeanor switches to very explicit protectiveness of her team. And I think something that was kind of the final nail in the coffin for me is that her title in the party is literally its knight:

Doesn't get more explicit than that, I don't think.

Noelle // Mage of Hope

The reason why Noelle is on the list so early on is because her and Susie have opposite aspects and I think that's fun, and that it's easier to exemplify those differences if they're next to each other.

Being a pair to Rage, Hope is an aspect that is also connected to its hero being somewhat connected with the narrative. But, as opposed to the way Ragebound refuse to make things easy for the narrative, Hopebound are a driving force within it, either through acting on their own volition or being forced by an external force. Other evidence includes its symbolic connection to angels, things that are holy (like... Holy Prayer? wow), extreme passion for their interests and a penchant for uncovering what is real and true but perhaps hidden (like easter eggs in a game, for example).

Hope is the unstoppable force to Rage's immovable object. In connection to Hope's alignment to miracles, it fits in nicely with how Noelle is the key component in the Weird/Snowgrave Route, as it reads as something straight out of a creepypasta, something that should not even be possible in the game. (To those who read HS scratching their head about the miracles being a Hope thing, Gamzee was a Bard (a destruction class), and thus ghosting his opposite aspect - in his case Rage. We'll talk about aggressively ghosting aspects by Princes and Bards in just a while, though).

The Mage part might be more complex and less obvious than the Hope part. A Witch might be something that seems more intuitive due to her power level but I'll do my best to make my case here.

Mages internalize their aspect through experience. They take in both the good and the bad that comes with it and learn from it to be able to use it. Their relationship to their aspect can then be quite volatile - sometimes the aspect serves to actively harm them, they have too little or too much of it. And Noelle puts a lot of faith into others and is pretty easy to trust and be swayed to one side or another. This shows the most prominently in the Weird/Snowgrave Route once again, where her blind faith in the hope of getting stronger puts her through the awful experience of being made a tool of destruction.

There's also a fascinating element to Mages and their relationship with external beings. They (along with Seers) are extremely attuned to hearing and perceiving external forces and their voices (like the commands of the exiles in HS - or the player in DR). Additionally, Mages have once been speculated to be the passive counterpart to Witch at some point before settling into the active part of the knowing class duo they make alongside Seers today because while Witches manipulate, the Mages are more prone to manipulation, mostly through something directly connected to their aspect (Sollux by literally fate itself, and Meulin by someone close to her as Doom and Heart heroes respectively). What screws up Noelle in the Weird Route, is her blind belief in who she perceives as Kris and their actions, her sureness in there being some method to this madness and the reason for all this being getting stronger, something she really wants due to feeling weak.

Let's discuss that feeling.

Kris // Witch of Heart

I know! I know. I know this class seems out of pocket but I'll do my best to justify this title, I promise.

Let's start with Heart, the less... offending of the two. Heart as an aspect has to do with emotions and desires, yes, but mostly it has to do with identity, self, personas and literal soul. I'm sorry but this is non-negotiable - if you believe Kris is anything else than Heartbound, you need to reconsider the text again. Yes, there could be some argument about how struggle for freedom can be a sign of them being Breath-aligned but their struggle is mostly for the freedom of self-expression. There are multiple points in Chapter 2 at which we direct them to do something and they comply but use an incredulous inflection or say something that technically is what we picked but in such a tone that it's construed as something completely opposite. Their struggle is centered on identity for sure.

It goes beyond just our influence and Kris's struggle against it, though. There are multiple hints at Kris not really being entirely comfortable with their place in Hometown as the sole human. They don't like thinking about other humans, Toriel says they would wear a horn headband because one time they asked when their horns would grow in. They're clearly usually an introvert and don't like other people knowing too much about them. They look up magic and were interested in the occult at least at some point, and seem to not really want to be themselves.

In what ways are they a Witch then? Many, actually! The first piece of evidence is that Witches break the rules of their own aspect, and I don't think calling tearing your own soul out of your chest and shoving it into a constricting place for just a moment is a stretch. Additionally, they seem to even have a Witch Familiar that is closely related to their aspect and without whom the entire plot would change drastically! It's you. You're the familiar. The soul is the familiar.

And the 4th-wall breaking fun doesn't end there! Despite being possessed, they still retain who they are - no one thinks they're a different person, after all. Which means that us using Kris, Noelle's childhood friend, to exploit her need (dare I say desire, to make the connection to the Heart aspect more explicit) to feel stronger and make her IceShock every moving thing in Cyber City is us utilizing their abilities to manipulate the Heart aspect.

Ralsei // Prince of Void

Remember when I said we were gonna talk about how the destruction classes like Princes and Bards ghost the aspect opposite to theirs in a bit? Yeah, that time is now. Back on the more stable ground because I don't think it's that big of a hot take to argue Ralsei is a Prince of Void, given that it's basically in his title within the team.

Yes, Princes and Bards ghost their opposite aspect a lot. Ralsei accomplishes this by being a walking, talking exposition machine, something that those more familiar with the mind-numbing properties of Aranea Serket, a Sylph of Light (an inverse of a Prince of Void) would know is very up the alley of those who are Lightbound. Ralsei serves as an introduction to lore, game mechanics and other very technical things. However, ghosting the opposite aspect is not the same as being bound to it. Ralsei is still very much Voidbound.

There's an air of secrecy and obscurity around Ralsei. He's not telling us something. He smashes through the 4th wall - something Void heroes adore to do, by the way - like it's nothing by showing knowledge of what he should not be aware of at all - what do you mean EAST classroom. How do you know this and why can you acknowledge this. He can banish us to focus on other characters to talk to Kris one-on-one, causing a narrative blackout of sorts, which is another thing Voidbound tend to do.

At the same time, he shows clear signs of being a Prince that destroys his aspect or with his aspect. As I said, he's incredibly prone to throwing animated exposition dumps at the player but that's not all there is to it. He's literally part of a team of heroes who set out to destroy dark fountains. Not only can he cause narrative blackouts around himself, he tries to make Kris stop focusing on what happened after Spamton's fight, blocking off a path to solve that mystery. "You don't need to know anymore" kind of thing.

Destruction classes are dual in nature through being defined by their aspect but setting out to destroy it. He's afraid of being abandoned and forgotten. He keeps things from both his friends and the player. He doesn't want to fall prey to obscurity. He's secretive and does unexplained things through unknown means, like by just showing up in the Cyber World. As befitting a Prince, he's a walking contradiction.

Berdly // Page of Light

Believe it or not, Berdly's was one of the more tricky titles to pin down. I'm still not fully sure of it but I'm able to argue in favor of this decision.

Light is an aspect of relevance, knowledge and fate. Berdly is someone incredibly focused on academics. However, Pages inherently lack their aspect and literally have to be fed it by someone else who has more of it despite not even being bound to it until they reach a power threshold that allows them agency. Once they do, they're a force to be reckoned with but, as things stand, Berdly admits that Noelle is the real smart kid and he would never be the best in class if it weren't for her.

Despite not being the opposite of an Heir of Void, the narrative seems hilariously allergic to him anyway. He starts reading out loud and literally puts Kris to sleep with it. His monologue is not going to be read by many people because it's happening while there is a time-sensitive multi-part puzzle going on. Queen, the antagonist that moves most of the plot forward, runs away from him. Additionally, Lightbound are usually quite prone to being swayed to do things, and Berdly is a pain for Queen to handle but she does manipulate him quite a lot anyhow. He's flabbergasted when she captures Noelle right in front of him because that's not what they agreed on.

As an aside, one of his attacks is him throwing pages of A+ school assignments. That's the most hilariously Page of Light attack in the history of ever.

BONUS ROUND

Player // Seer of Mind

Bet you weren't expecting that, huh?

Every player is a different separate person but again, classpect titles are more about the place and role in the narrative and oh boy, oh boy. Is there evidence that the soul, i.e. us, are a Seer of Mind in the story of Deltarune.

For starters, it's literally the inverse of Kris's classpect. We're as diametrically opposed to them as possible. Secondly, as stated with Noelle, knowledge classes like Mages and Seers are incredibly attuned to meta-level voices. In Noelle's case that means things like hearing our commands even if Kris is down. In our case it means literal narration. We also know things we have no business of knowing - we're able to do things like hearing characters' thoughts, literally mind-reading them.

A more traditional role of a Seer of Mind (and we know this because there literally is one in HS) is knowing the outcomes and consequences of certain decisions. We literally have the power of reloading and saving to find that out. I rest my case.

Why did you choose your URL?

It's a combination of a couple of old jokes I had from middle school, the older of which was actually kind of a mean thing that I won't get into. However, KanoNavi was the second iteration of my old url FritoNavi, and because it rolled off the tongue better I decided to just switch to that full time.

Before tumblr, I was on DeviantArt to follow Splatoon fanartists, and some of them mentioned having Tumblr so I decided to join that too!

My meta on Simulanka Day 3 actually passed 100 notes (it has 124 as of this posting), which is absolutely crazy. I'm planning to do kind of a follow-up to that once I work up the spoons because there was some contention in my replies and also Natlan acts 1 and 2 have given me some ideas, so look forward to that I guess lol

Jeff looks down when his phone pings and checks it- Pete. It’s in a solo secure messaging conversation, not the one with the three of them in it, and he frowns in confusion. He opens the message. ‘So I think we should treat Sloane for her birthday.’ 

Jeff’s heart lodges in his throat. ‘Shit, when is it? I never knew.’

‘Relax, babe, it’s in a month.’

‘Oh thank God. What does she like?’

‘I’ll tell you another time. I mean, I think we should surprise her. Maybe treat her. In bed.’

Jeff swallows. ‘Yeah,’ he types back. ‘What do you have in mind?’

Sloane and Pete go to Jeff’s place two weeks later and Jeff cooks. After dinner, Pete washes the dishes while Jeff dries. “Jeff, you cooked,” Sloane protests. 

“Consider it an early present,” Jeff smiles. “Don’t worry, I got you something, too.”

“My birthday isn't for another week, hon.”

“That’s why it’s early.”

“Smartass.”

Pete chuckles quietly at their quips. He finishes washing the last dish and dries his hands. He makes sure Sloane isn't looking when he looks at Jeff and raises an eyebrow. Jeff smirks and nods.

“Speaking of early presents,” Pete says casually.

“Not you too,” Sloane groans. 

“Yes, me too. Me three, technically,” Pete smiles. 

Sloane smiles gently at their shared joke. “Fine. What is it, Pete?”

“Come here, sweetheart,” Pete says, extending an arm. She comes close and he pulls her in, kissing her deeply. She hums and kisses back. 

“I like this early present,” she murmurs, reaching for Jeff with one hand as she drapes her other over Pete’s shoulder. Jeff obliges, coming up behind her and ducking his head to kiss her neck. She purrs, tilting her head to give him more access. Pete follows her movement, kissing her again.

Pete slides his free hand up her side, palm catching on her shirt and making it ride up. Jeff, ever the opportunist, seizes the chance and touches her skin, his hand brushing Pete’s. She shudders and moans quietly. Jeff chuckles and slides his hand up further, her shirt bunching around his wrist. “Shall we go to bed,” Jeff asks quietly before mouthing at her neck. He can smell that Sloane wants to, can smell her start to get aroused though she isn't wet yet. They’ll fix that. 

“Yeah,” she breathes. Pete backs up, making her whine when his mouth leaves hers. He chuckles and takes her hand, bringing her to Jeff’s room. Jeff keeps contact with Sloane the whole way, licking and scraping his fangs down the sensitive skin at the side of her neck. She whimpers, reaching and touching the back of his head, nails scratching gently against his scalp. He shivers. They reach the bedroom and Jeff gives her skin a final kiss before he turns her around. She smiles at him and pulls him down, kissing him. Pete presses against her back and Sloane moans softly. Pete waits for Jeff to finish kissing her before he tugs at the bottom of her shirt. She puts her arms up. Pete pulls off the fabric, smiling. Once it’s off, Sloane hums, reaching for Jeff’s shirt. He lets her take it off, then kisses her again. He winds a hand into her hair and scratches gently and she moans quietly into his mouth. 

“What do you want first, sweetheart,” Pete whispers in her ear. “Hmm?”

Jeff pulls away to let her answer, smirking. “God, you two are gonna be the death of me,” Sloane says breathlessly. The Alphas chuckle before they duck their heads. They both go to mouthe at the same side of her neck, making them laugh again before Jeff switches. “Fuck.”

“You didn’t answer the question, darling,” Jeff says. 

“Because you’re making my brain goo.” She tries to sound scolding, but isn't successful. 

The men laugh. “If you want us to stop,” Pete shrugs, leaning back. Her hand shoots back and grabs his shirt.

“Don’t you dare.”

Jeff smirks at Pete and reaches around Sloane, tugging at his shirt. Pete takes it off. Pete hooks his chin over Sloane’s shoulder and Jeff kisses him gently. 

“Fuck,” Sloane breathes. Pete kisses Jeff deeper. Sloane kisses behind Jeff’s ear. Jeff pulls back, shuddering.

“This is about you,” he says, smiling at Sloane. 

“This is about all of us,” Sloane says earnestly, stroking his hair. 

“We have time,” Jeff murmurs, kissing her again. “It’s your birthday.”

Sloane rolls her eyes fondly. “Not yet.”

“Soon enough,” Pete agrees. He comes to her front and gently guides her to Jeff’s bed. She gets on her back and lounges on the pillows. She crooks her finger and both men get on with her. 

Pete kisses her again and Jeff works on her pants. They take their time undressing each other until all of them are naked. Jeff slides down, licking and kissing randomly, before he settles between her thighs. Pete kisses her gently before he slides his hand down, pressing into her where she’s wet. Jeff licks her gently, working around Pete’s fingers. Sloane arches at the sensation, winding her hand into Jeff’s hair. 

Jeff shudders and licks deeper. He loves doing this, loves having Sloane leak onto his tongue and knowing that she feels so good. Pete draws his fingers back and Jeff chases them to her clit. “Fuck,” Sloane moans. She arches into Jeff’s mouth and shivers. Jeff makes her cum and looks up, smirking. “Jeff, get up here,” she says. He chuckles and crawls up. “Knotting,” she says, curling a hand around the back of his neck. Pete hands him the right condom and he puts it on. He reaches for lube but Sloane just puts her legs around his hips. 

“Don’t wanna hurt you,” he says, leaning down and nudging noses with her. 

“You won’t.” 

“You sure, baby?”

“I’m sure.” Jeff nods, smiling a little. 

He slowly sinks in, giving her time to adjust. And she isn’t tight around him, which is good. He gets all the way in and pauses. She kisses him and he smiles into it. Then Pete noses his cheek and he pulls back, giving him a long kiss, too. Pete strokes his hair and kisses Sloane. Jeff starts moving, slow and easy. Sloane hums, arching and smiling. Jeff dips his head and mouthes at her throat. She purrs, pulling his head closer. 

They make love while Pete watches, fond. Sloane reaches for his hand and he holds it. He presses a kiss to the back of it and she cups his cheek. He leans down and kisses her deeply. She hums and scratches down his back, curling her other hand and sliding it down Jeff’s. Jeff hums and angles his hips, and she arches, whimpering. He makes her cum and pauses, panting into her throat. When she’s come down, he starts again. Pete smiles, nosing at his temple. He pulls back enough to kiss him, and Sloane’s hands tighten on them. 

Jeff makes her cum again and thrusts a few more times before he knots. He noses into her throat and hums. “Good, sweetheart,” he asks gently.

“More than good.”

Jeff blankets her and she hums, scratching a hand through his hair and down his back. He flexes against her, rumbling. She smiles and kisses the tip of his nose, making him chuckle. Pete’s hand joins Sloane’s, and he pets down Jeff’s spine. He hums, relaxing. 

“So what brought this on,” Sloane asks. “Besides my birthday, smartasses.”

“Just wanted to treat you,” Pete says, nosing her jaw and pressing a kiss to the hinge. 

“Mostly for your birthday, but because you deserve it every day,” Jeff says, nosing the other side of her jaw.

Sloane hums and smiles. “Thank you.”

“For what,” Jeff asks.

“Being you two.”

Jeff smiles. “I don’t know how to be anyone else.”

“Good.”

Jeff’s knot deflates and he pulls out, tying off the condom. Pete takes his place, stroking down Sloane’s sides. “Pete, baby, I-”

“I can tell,” Pete murmurs, kissing her. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. Today’s about you,” he promises, lying next to her. Jeff glances down, and Pete’s mostly soft. 

“You sure,” Sloane asks quietly, and she really does sound concerned.

“I’m sure,” Pete reassures her, stroking his hand through her hair. Jeff comes back to bed, lying on the other side of Sloane.

“You’re too good to me,” Sloane says, getting on her back and looping an arm around either man.

“I happen to think we’re just good enough,” Jeff says, nose in her throat. 

“Yeah,” Pete agrees, the same way on her other side. She pets both of their heads, purring. 

Sloane’s phone pings and she groans. “Ignore it,” Jeff mutters. 

“Nope.”

He sighs and rolls over, getting it for her. He hands it over and cuddles close again. She checks it, scrolling. Pete looks up to see her eyebrows are furrowed. “What’s wrong,” he asks, and Jeff looks up, putting his chin on Sloane’s collarbone.

“Nothing.”

“Yeah, that doesn’t look like a ‘nothing’ face,” Jeff says. “What’s wrong?”

Sloane sighs. “My family’s throwing me a party.”

“Ok,” Pete draws out. “Why is that a bad thing?”

“I want you both there, but,” she trails off.

“Baby,” Jeff says. “If you want me, I’m there,” he promises.

“We can say you’re friends with Jeff, too,” Pete says.

“Ok,” she says, noticeably more relaxed. The Alphas settle down again, heads pillowed on her shoulders. 

Sloane looks down when Jeff falls asleep, Pete not too far behind him. She smiles. She wishes, desperately, that her family would understand. That everyone would understand- that this isn’t a kinky thing, that she truly cares for both of them. That she loves both of them. She bites her lip. She and Pete had said it before Jeff joined, but hadn’t said it recently. She doesn’t want to make Jeff feel excluded. She carefully puts her phone aside and warms when Jeff hums in his sleep, throwing an arm around her waist. Pete makes a sleepy noise and curls around her more, head on her heart. She smiles and goes to sleep.

Love Class 2 Live Blogging

I actually wasn't going to do this, I already watched 3 eps and am in the middle of the 4th one but I guess I have more things to say than expected.

Ep 1 (Jan 26): Got confused by the sheer number of characters and also the pair at the beginning were just friends, not love interests, even though it initially seemed like it was lol

Ep 2 (Jan 26): The second couple is like whatever to me rn and the barely-there glimpse of the third couple is doing nothing for me but I'm sooo curious about the first couple. Lee Hyun mentioned they broke up, so that meant they dated? While the older (I'm assuming by 1-2 years) was tutoring him?

Also, loveeee the register switching like in ep 2 during their first convo, Hyun calling him seonsaengnim and using formal language but then getting frustrated and using yeah! and using informal (which Kim Ahn warns him to watch his tone). and also deiciding to go from ssnim to hyung on his own accord lol

Ep 3 (Jan 26): Bro I'm really into Lee Hyun and Kim Ahn fr.

Also, I didn't realize there were after-credit scenes, thought it was a preview for the next episode but it's actually Lee Hyun and Kim Ahn's original story! They really were tutor/student (even though Lee Hyun was like how can you be my tutor we're barely apart in age lol) but awooga love the umm dubious and illicit nature of the relationship (helped along by the fact that they're apparently barely apart in age since Lee Hyun is prlly 17-ish at the time while Kim Ahn's maybe 19? idk exact but if he left 2 years ago and now Lee Hyun is a freshman, Lee Hyun's age makes sense but dunno about Kim Ahn's)

The friendship between Maru-Minwu-Hyun is cute and how they're all affectionate toward Hyun despite him not being like part of their love interest romantic pair. like Minwu at the beginning of the show being cutesy with Hyun enough that I and others thoughts they were the couple and also Maru just crashing at Hyun's and sleeping in same bed w/o it becoming weird.

The reddit posts and the MDL comments make it seem as though most people preferred 2nd or 3rd couple over main couple, so I'm a bit apprehensive that they become weird or off-kilter as the show goes on?? I hope not because they're the only pair I care about rn (though I've warmed up to Maru and Minwu a bit more)

Ep 4 (Jan 26): The third couple is kinda funny but also irritating.

Why did Minwu just call Maru a slut in a mean way?

Bro who is this dude? Is he the one who jumped off the roof? And is following around Kim Ahn?

Overall:

I liked the main couple: a younger, insistent pursuer to an older, reluctant hyung who was also his tutor when the younger was in high school. I didn't find them to be boring or to be ruined because of the frozen kisses. I do wish the random stalker, weird hyung wasn't haunting them for so long though because the premise of this couple is so good. Also, Lee Hyun's face reminded me of NCT Chenle + TXT Yeonjun - he's an idol too BAE173 or smth.

I came around to the second and third couple even though if the show was longer or deeper, I might not have (ie. the random Minwu calling Maru a slut negatively and the miscommunication of Sungmin and Juhyuk might've been more offputting if they got more screentime or we didn't swiftly move on).

I was bored by the last 2 eps though, so ehhh

Rating: 6/10 - I think I've gotten kinder because it maybe should be 5.5?

KAZUHA omg I like to imagine that he's the last one to join their little group and likes to hang out with the other three when he stops by in Liyue and Childe and Hu Tao always makes sure to give him "welcome back!" tickles and they both like to pretend that he's been gone for a really long time every time he leaves, so they need to "relearn" all of his tickle spots and Zhongli always has to drag the two of them off of him, not that Kazuha minds the tickling or anything

Childe and Hu Tao love to go over their favorite spots to tickle with Kazuha while Zhongli is laughing his head off in protest, but ultimately helpless to stop them from being tickled by three people at the same time

Hu Tao knows everyone's tickle spots and she has no problem sharing them under certain circumstances, like if she's cornered and about to be tickled by someone else. She'll share tickle spots like bargaining chips for her freedom lmao Also, I think Zhongli would be good at guessing people's tickle spots and he has a great memory, so he never forgets where other people are sensitive

CHILDE AND ZHONGLI like if you've been following my blog for any amount of time, you know how much I love these two and can write whole essays about all the tickle stuff between them. At restaurants or outings, Childe loves to sneak in little pokes here and there, or squeeze his thigh from under the table just to constantly keep Zhongli on his toes. Just because Childe tickles Zhongli all the time doesn't mean he's void of his own tickles, though! The two always share a tent during the group's adventures and Childe's laughter can often be heard from the inside of their tent Hu Tao and Zhongli because the two go way back and Hu Tao loves to tease Zhongli, especially when he starts going off on a tangent and needs an easy way to get him to stop with his rambling Childe and Hu Tao because they're the two biggest lers in the group and are often competing with each other when they're not getting Zhongli or Kazuha. It's usually hopeless for Hu Tao though lmao Also I think Childe and Kazuha would have tickle fights as a way for Childe to initially welcome Kazuha to the group!

ok bear with me here LMAO but i remade again and I'm going to be posting on a different blog!

the main reason is because on this account my art blog is a side blog, which is super fucking annoying and means i can't send asks or interact with people from this account. on the new one my art blog is my main. thankfully i havent invested an insane amount of effort into this blog yet, so it's not super serious to switch over! just kind of annoying for you guys i guess? (hopefully not by much!)

this account is also ages old (like maybe 12 years) so my tagging system was ass and can't be fixed, my cringey old posts are still up, and it's so packed full of stuff idc about anymore that it can get kind of hard to navigate. also the theme i chose on my main is so busted ... i havent been able to edit it for years because something was covering the settings button and every time i went to edit it my brain was like "oh yeah... nvm i dont care enough to find a solution for that" on and on into infinity

Marriage or Arsenic: my very first post! I'm proud of myself for starting! Proud of myself for writing and putting it out there!

Even Though: super spontaneous fic; decided about 11pm I wanted to write it and it was finished before 2:30am! But I'm really pleased with how it came out and it's nice to know I can produce shit if I really focus lmao

Thirteen Rounds: wrote it in one evening and then was really unhappy the following day and couldn't work out why I didn't l like it so I took my dog for a walk and figured it out. It then needed a really big, significant re-write and I did it! And then it did some serious fucking numbers lmao

A Fine Line: for obvious reasons lol. My first series! Wasn't sure I could do it! Wasn't sure anyone would like it! But I did! and they do!!

Three biggest improvements in my writing

I think I'm more aware of my (over-)use of adverbs now so I'm better at catching them while writing and in editing.

Writing long stuff! Actual plot! When I first started, I couldn't believe people were writing like, 5, 10, 15k fics and now I not only have one-shots that long but also a whole series! And more to come!

Deciding to only write in past tense. I kept sort of switching between past and present which meant that, even within one fic, I kept fucking up and writing in the wrong one. Sticking to one means I'm not making that mistake (as much! 😬) anymore.

Two resolutions for next year

This one is sort of already in plrogress but planning. Kintsugi is already outlined! I'm going to try to stick to the plan!

Read more -- both fics and books. I have read much less this year than I'd have liked so I really want to use this festive period to reset and start the new year with more intention and waste less of my time on my fucking phone, watching shit I don't care about on netflix etc. and actually make time for everything, which includes reading.

Remember how I said I've posted 58 fics? Yeah, I'm not going through those to pick out the best lmao. But one that I can think of off the top of my head is:

please pull her away from planning the wedding everyone and a while

She's treating it like she treats her paperwork and she's going to pass out from lack of sleep the day of at this rate

she lets you male most of the actual decisions and just does the grunt work of it honestly

She insists that she prefersit this way but she does light up a bit when you ask her to choose the music for the ceremony

She also insists on havinga wedding that doesn't use white as its primary color. She's pretty content with any other color as long as it isnt white

shes extremely stressed on the days leading up to the wedding and will snap at her sisters every chance she gets.

Sometimes its not even their fault she just needs a bit of a punching bag. They silently agreed to put up with it for now though

She plans to wear a suit to the wedding since she just doesn't vibe with the big loud fancy wedding dresses honestly

she looks so relaxed and happy staring at you with all the adoration in the world when the day finally comes

Mammon:

She's honestly so impulsive that if you let her she will just elope as soon as you say yes

If you do want a big ceremony thought let her know she won't mind either way

she promises to help you plan everything but please double check the price on everything she picks

she will bankrupt you both trying to make the biggest shiniest wedding imagable

just gently remind her that more expensive doesn't always mean better

she does does want the primary color to be gold but she'll happily change it if you don't like it

Hell she'll throw out all her ideas if you don't like them honestly

she plans on wearing a suit with all sorts of sparkles on it.

has a big sappy smile on her face the whole day. Though she doesn't cry a lil bit during the actual ceremony which she'll deny of course

Leviathan:

She doesn't want a big wedding. That's her biggest thing honestly. The last thing she wants is to have a panic attack on your wedding day

she did suggest one somewhere by the sea weather it be a beach or just a cliff by the water. She'll leave the specific location to you.

does bring up the concept of a cosplay wedding. Her sisters of course are against it though.

The compromise is a TSL themed wedding. Leviathan has enough knowledge of the series to make it as subtle or outright as you'd prefer of course

She honestly doesn't know wether to wear a suit or a dress. So she asks you which you plan to wear so she can pick the opposite

The day of its a battle to keep Levi from panicking and running off. She's just really concerned your gonna change your mind or end miserable or-

Her sisters are doing everything in their power to keep her grounded don't worry.

when she is finally at the alter with you she's switching between stating at you with the most lovestruck gaze and anxiously fidgeting

You were 100% certain she was going to pass out when you kissed but by some miracle she managed to hold it together

Satan:

she wants her wedding to be pretty traditional tbh.

It still takes so much planning though because your wedding will be Perfect.

she isn't going to settle for anything less.

Her sisters had to hold her back when the flowers the were delivered were wrong at first.

She did spend days debating whether to wear a suit or a dress. Eventually gave up and decided on one that's a mix of both.

Asmodeus does help with picking out the outfit though so don't worry about Satan’s lack of fashion sense

she is the only sister who actually followed the "don't see your SO the morning of your wedding" rule.

Just barely though. She'd stand in the doorway covering her eyes just so she could talk to you for a while

She's blushing with a soft smile the whole ceremony. She also tears up a bit but I wouldn't really call it crying

She's says she wants a big wedding. But she'll of course change that I'd you aren't comfortable with that

she wants lots of flowers. They're just so pretty and she wants this wedding to be the most beautiful wedding so lots of flowers

This being said it might work better to just have an out door wedding so the flowers get some fresh air and you aren’t stuck in a room filled with pollen

She's also a pain to deal with since her emotions are running all over the place.

one second she's yelling at someone because the table cloths are the wrong color and the next she's crying cus she's so excited to be married to you

The whole "don't see the bride's dress" thing goes out the window because she both wants to help you and wants you to help pick out her dress

like the wedding she wants the biggest dress imagable

that is until you joke you won't be able to reach her to give her a kiss if she has a dress that big and poofy

She'll still have a big dress just one that's much more reasonable now

she is going to have to be removed from you numerous times the day of because she just has to help with your hair and makeup

Her sisters are this close to just locking her in her room to get her ready honestly

she'll be glued to your side the entire day just so thrilled that you're finally married

Beelzebub:

She's stress eating enough to feed an entire country while planning stuff

Lucifer does have to chain up the fridge at somepoint just so they have enough food to last the week

She's also working out a bunch to try to burn off all the food she ate.

Just try to sit her down for a bit so she can help plan and not focus on her stomach

She doesn't know much about the actual theme and stuff since it honestly doesn't matter much to her

she's happy to go with what ever you pick. She trusts your judgment after all

she thrives in choosing the menu though

not only will you have the biggest and best cake but the rest of the food the will be the best thing that you've ever tasted

There is a secret second cake just incase the first cake isn't enough. It's always good to be prepared.

she's a bit anxious that her dress won't fit the day of because how how much she's been munching on stuff so she has a bigger back up suit just in case.

she does cry during the ceremony just cus she thinks you're so perfect and she will tell you as much.

also asked if you just wanted to elope. It would have been a lot less work.

She honestly doesn't put in a lot of effort making choices for the wedding.

it's not from lack of trying though. All the choices and options and stressing her out a bit and it's too much

that and she just wants to be married already damn it

she does put in a few ideas though

for instance a night sky themed wedding. There could be both human world and Devildom constellation themed things.

she also teases her sisters with uninviting them anytime they annoy her.

She won't actually uninvite them she just likes seeing them all panicked

Insists you bring Beel for taste testing the food choices since her twin arguably has the best palate

She was apparently half asleep when picking out her dress because on the day of she immediately starts complaining that it's to heavy and that she can't even walk in it.

Luckily Levi could just remove a few layers of the underskirt making it quite a bit lighter.

she looks like she's about to fall asleep a few times throughout the day but she does manage to stay awake

though the dance was a close call since she just kinda leaned only you mumbling nonsense about how much she adored you like she was half asleep

Though she is pretty open to change.

at first she wanted to have the wedding in a church or even the celestial realm

but she also wanted the others to be comfortable so opted to let you choose somewhere else

Luke and Barbatos make cupcakes to go along with the actual cake

also Luke is the flower girl it's not optional

She's pretty laid back the entire planning process and her stress only shows a little bit when things were a bit off during the rehearsals

you were almost certain she was going to smite Mammon for accidentally spilling her drink

she does follow all the traditional ways of "don't see the bride's dress" and "don't see them the morning of" though she does try to text you the whole morning up until the actual ceremony

she absolutely adores you and smiles at you the entire day.

Part two to Trust me for once.

Warnings: Swearing. Mentions blood, violence, and death. A lil angst. 

A/N: I just want to write for Bucky for the rest of fictober, someone stop me please. I don’t know why I love this fic so much, but I do. Maybe it’s my lack of sleep messing with me lmao. I passed 500 followers and I can’t possibly begin to explain how much that means to me and how much I love each and every one of you! When I started my Tumblr last year to write some shitty self indulgent fanfics I never thought anyone would ever read them. I never imagined having 500 people following my shitty blog. 

In the week and a half since Hydra had captured you, Bucky has been spiraling. When he got to the quinjet and turned to look for you, his heart fell into the pit of his stomach when he couldn’t find you. Everything you had said to him in the warehouse started to make more sense, you phrashed things a specific way; ‘so long as it gets you out of here safely.’ He knew you weren’t coming, but he still made Steve keep the quinjet there and wait until it was almost too late and the team was under attack again.

Back at the compound Bucky spends all of his time in his room or down in the gym punching- and breaking- one of the many punching bags, throwing his knives at targets, and working on his shooting. He isn’t sleeping and he isn’t eating, he won’t even talk to Steve when the super soldier tries to get him to talk- whether it be about what happened in the warehouse or anything in general. 

Steve, Sam, and Tony are exhausting every resource they have to find you, Hydra had moved you to another location as soon as the quinjet was out of sight of the base. On the rare occasion Bucky isn’t in the gym or his room, he's hovering over the shoulders of the three men hoping he’ll see something they missed. He doesn’t, and only succeeds in annoying aforementioned men with his brooding stares and silence. 

Bucky has nightmares on a daily basis again, something that his time in Wakanda with Shuri and T’Challa had gotten rid of. The only difference this time is he doesn’t see himself. He sees everything he went through, all the tourture he endured and the innocent bloodshed, but instead of him you’re in his shoes. He watches you get your brain turned into mush in the damn chair. He watches you forgetting everyone- forgetting him- and then going after the Avengers because you don’t know any better. He can never wake up from the nightmares, he’s stuck in them until he watches you die or you kill him. 

Twelve days after you’re taken, Bucky's down in the gym, sitting on a chair because the memories of you in the warehouse are consuming him. You saying that he hates you and to just trust you for once are playing on repeat. How could you think he doesn't trust you?

“I trust you!” he screams into the empty gym, wishing he’d told you so in the warehouse, hurling the knife that was resting in his hand into the wall across from him. He goes to run his hands through his long strands of hair, forgetting he had cut most of it off, something you would refer to as pulling a Britney. He has no idea what that even means, but you say it everytime you or Nat impulsively cut your hair super short. Instead he pushes the palms of his hands into his eyes, trying to push the memories away. “I could never hate you.”

Steve enters the gym quietly, observing his best friend for a few minutes. He’s never seen him this bad before, not even when he was consumed by guilt when he realized all of the innocent lives that were lost by his hands. Steve was aware that Bucky has had feelings for you since he saw you, immediately becoming infatuated with your beauty. His feelings continued to grow when he learned your humor, sarcasm, intelligence, and saw your skill in battle. Steve knew Bucky was intimidated and nervous, not as skilled with the women like he was seventy years ago and that’s why he didn’t talk to you, but Steve never realized that Bucky cared this much. 

“Hey Buck,” Steve finally speaks, causing Bucky to stand up and pretend he wasn’t just having a breakdown. “We’ve got something.”

Bucky doesn’t verbally respond, instead he brushes past Steve and walks out of the gym. Steve quickly leads the way to the lab, filling Bucky in on the new development. Hydra is streaming a live feed of you chained to a chair right to every computer and television screen in the compound. When the two get to the lab, packed with the rest of the Avengers huddling around the same screen, Bucky see’s you for the first time in twelve days. The first time you aren’t a figment of his imagination. You’re bruised and bloody: split lip with dried blood on your chin; dried blood on your forehead from where you must have wiped the blood from the cut on your eyebrow so it didn’t drip into your eyes before you were chained to the chair; you’re left eye black, blue, and bruised; your skin has a yellow hue and your cheeks are hollow from malnutrition. 

Bucky wants to scream, he wants to put a fist through a wall, and he wants to kill whoever laid a hand on you. The Avengers watch quietly as he squeezes through the gaps in the group's huddle so he can be by the screen. By you. You aren’t staring at the camera, instead staring straight in front of you, where he imagines Hydra agents are standing. 

“You don’t want another Winter Soldier,” your voice is the exact opposite of your appearance, it’s still so strong and determined. “You want the Winter Soldier. You wanted us to intercept the messages and show up at the base, it was an ambush.” 

“Very good, Ms. (Y/L/N),” a man speaks off screen, he has a thick Russian accent, but Bucky doesn’t recognize it. “The only problem was that you seemed to figure it out that day, and ruined our plans.”

“Oops?” your sarcasm garners another slap, the ring on the man's hand causing a gash on your cheekbone. “It’s been what, over a week? How long are you gonna keep me?”

“Until Soldat switches places with you,” you let out a loud bark of a laugh that echoes off the walls in the small room. 

“Bucky, your Soldat, he won’t sacrifice himself for me,” you laugh at the man interrogating you.

“We learned of his affections for you-” you cut him off with another laugh. 

“You need to fire whoever told you that,” you can’t stop laughing at the absurdity that came out of the Hydra agents mouth. And you don’t care if he becomes angry and annoyed with you, you’re gonna get killed no matter what. Your eyes quickly flick to the camera set up on your left, the one the Hydra agents thought you hadn’t seen, before continuing knowing the Avengers had to be seeing all of this. “The only affection Bucky has for me is hatred. He hates me, there’s no way he’d switch places for little old me. You should have captured literally anyone else if you wanted him to be upset. He can’t stand me! We can’t even hold a simple conversation, and he always leaves the room when I’m in it. We were only paired up on this mission because of a fluke accident. Face it, you fucked up. I’m worthless to your Soldat.”

“That’s not true!” Bucky feels like he’s yelling it at the screen, but his protest is only a whisper. The rest of the team watches him with sad eyes, he’s looking at you so longingly. Trying to will you to understand how he feels about you through the screen. As if on cue, you glance at the camera again, giving it a sd smile, accepting your fate. A loud ping comes from one of the computers in the lab, but Bucky keeps eye contact with you, even though he knows you can’t see. He doesn’t realize he’s doing it until his flesh hand is pressed against the television.

“We’ve got a location!” Tony yells, already calling for his suit. 

“Then you’re worthless to me!” the hydra agent growls, stopping the team in their tracks who were on their way to change. 

“No,” Bucky pleads, when he hears the safety of a gun clicking off.  

“Any last words for your precious Avengers?” the man asks you, gesturing to the camera, he hadn’t noticed you’d already seen it. 

“I’d say tell my family I love them,” you’re openly talking to the camera now. “But I don’t have any. So thank you for being the family I never had, and the family I always wanted. I love every single one of you.”

A tear slips from your non swollen eye, a matching one rolling down Bucky’s cheek. The screen goes black, a gun goes off, and then the feed cuts completely. “No!” he screams, going to punch a hole in the television, but his fist goes right through due to it being Stark technology. 

“Where are you going?” Steve calls as Bucky heads to exit to the lab, no one else moving, too shocked to register everything that just happened. 

“Let’s go kill those bastards,” is his gruff response, heading towards the hanger with the Quinjet since he’s already dressed in his tactical gear from his time in the gym. 

Steve and Tony are the first ones dressed and ready to go, but the latter hangs back so Steve can talk to his best friend privately. Steve doesn’t say anything when he sits beside the brunette, he doesn’t know where to begin. 

��(Y/N) died thinking I hated her Stevie,” Bucky’s voice breaks. “I kept my distance cause I didn’t want to hurt her. And then I saw her with Sam and I was jealous so I started to ignore her more. I pushed her away because I was scared and jealous. And now she’ll never know that I love her.”

A shot rings through the small room you’re stuck in, the bullet lodging into the wall beside your head. You glance at the camera, finding the red light off. Your team, your family thinks you're dead. That was his damn plan, he knows they’ll come to avenge you. 

“Sit tight,” he smirks, the barrel of his gun coming into contact with your skull, effectively knocking you out. 

Your head is heavy and pounding in pain when you finally come to. Outside the door you can hear screams and guns going off at rapid speed. You cringe away from the sound when someone uses their body to break open the door to your room. The sound of familiar footsteps clomping towards you causes you to perk up, it’s Bucky. You can’t open your eyes or even move your head towards the sound to alert him that you’re okay, but you hear a whispered “thank god,” when he hears your steady heartbeat. From the crunching sound you can tell Bucky used his vibranium hand to crush the handcuffs keeping you attached to the chair. 

He picks you up bridal style, holding you close to his warm chest. You involuntarily cuddle into the warmth, causing Bucky to smile lovingly down at you. “I’ve got you now,” he whispers, hand caressing your cheek, careful not to put pressure on your many cuts. 

When you wake up again, you're in the familiar sterile medbay at the compound. A heavy weight is on your hand, looking over you notice it’s Bucky's hands clutching yours, his head tipped back on the seat he’s in.

“He hasn’t left your side,” Sam smirks at the scene from the doorway, holding a falcon stuffed animal. You playfully roll your eyes at the gift, but reach for it with your free hand. Bucky starts to stir, so Sam gives you a kiss on the forehead and heads for the door again. “Tinman’s whipped.”

The first thing you notice when you glance at Bucky again is his hair. He cut it all off when you were gone. As much as you loved his luscious locks and thought he was hot with them, he’s undeniably sexy with the short hairstyle. “You cut your hair,” Bucky immediately wakes up the rest of the way at your voice, ocean blue eyes staring into yours. “It looks good on you.”

“You could have died,” his voice exasperated. “And the first thing you mention is my hair. I’ve been worried sick, (Y/N)!”

“I was fine,” you roll your eyes, trying not to think of just how close to death you came. “I’m fine now.” 

“Next mission I get to call the shots,” he grumbles. “I’m not having the woman I love almost die for me again.”

“I love you too Buck,” you ignore the fact that he didn’t mean for you to hear his confession. “Why else would I be willing to die for you?”

He shoots out of his seat, eyes wide as he stares down at you. You push up to a sitting position, moving to the side of the bed, motioning for Bucky to lay beside you. He seems to debate with himself about whether he should or not, before finally laying down and gently pulling you into his arms. You crane your neck up to look into his eyes, he leans down and your lips meet timidly at first. It quickly turns into a slow loving kiss, the two of you wanting to prolong for as long as you can. You reach a hand up, caressing his face before slipping it through his now short locks.

We made it to 1.2k!!!! Although it doesn't seem like a lot, having 1,200 followers is so cool! Honestly, relating to your WoW/FFXIV post, I wonder if the 'great community, by the way' thing only has become what it has because the influx of WoW players? I hope it stops because acting like everyone in XIV is a perfect saint is only going to upset people even more if someone is even slightly less positive in game. I don't know I hope the whole WoW vs FFXIV stuff dies down, even Yoshi-P had to basically say 'shut up, WoW is what we want XIV to be, and we'll never even touch the heights WotLK had.' I just think if Blizzard hadn't been ousted as a bunch of sexual abusers it wouldn't be this extreme, like trashing WoW is kind of 'slacktivism' in a way. Sorry this is so long you're just the only person I've followed that did the WoW -> XIV jump and you haven't really done the extreme 180 everyone else has, and I think you have good opinions on things. Thanks for the kind words! I'm flattered to hear that you like my opinions and attitude. I do try my best to not be grating over things like games.

I will put a 'read more' because I do get into a bit in detail for this ask.

I personally do get a bit tired of the costant ffxiv and wow comparison and debate too. That's why I sometimes make fun of it in a light way, and make jokes or memes about it, but also keep to myself when debates come out and people start complaining or piling up discourse over discourse. I'm just glad to enjoy my game and see people enjoying it too, that's enough for me. I honestly don't have the patience or age to withstand game discourse anymore lmao.

I completely understand why people would want to switch games because of the recent Blizz horrifying actions, the fact that the game apparently hasn't been fun or well curated in a long time, or just for funsies and switching things up. I'm absolutely not complaining about the switch in games, if anything, I'm glad people are giving other games a chance. But I am a bit tired about the costant comparison, discourse, and millions of videos essays where people try to defend wow (as if you needed to defend a game you like... you can enjoy that game, period, and not create wars over it), or people making huge ffxiv against wow essays. Like I said some months ago, I studied the whole 'wow effect' for my thesis years ago for my Uni degree and I don't plan to go back at studying the phenomenon cause I just don't care about it anymore, to be honest.

I think sometimes people are just way too over protective of things they care about, like games, and when change occurs they react with panic and overprotection over something they can't control - people migrating over games, new influx of players, etc - instead of seeing the whole thing as something of a natural process all games and popular media are subject to. Like, imagine how bad things would be for every game or media if stuff NEVER changed. Especially for MMOS, that's a death sentence. And you don't want that for your favourite game. Even WOW suffering player loss might be a good thing in the end, it might force the companies to rethink their approach to games and community, since a lot of problems laid in there.

I played my fair share of WOW during my Uni years. I played for around 3 years or something, on and off with friends irl and online, and enjoyed my experience. Overall, I still have very good memories of fun and friendship in WOW, and it's a game I still like aesthetically a lot, along with its story and fantasy races. Hell, sometimes I think about how much I miss my WOW ocs, and drawing WOW related stuff.

But I don't think my relationship to WOW was as intense as some people's - I did transition from WOW to FFXIV, but I spent something like 2 years when I stopped playing WOW (I started in mists of pandaria, stopped around the beginning of battle for azeroth times) playing almost no videogames. So it wasn't like I switched from a game to the other immediately, I think mine was more of a timed and organic switch, I didn't start playing FFXIV until quarantine hit and I had nothing to do (and was feeling really bad and needed a distraction from the imminent doom), and I also got my new desktop computer knowing I could start playing a new game comfortably, and not on a toaster-like computer like I was doing during the WOW days. (computer shutting down due to overheating mid-raid, it was fun)

So maybe the fact that I didn't do the 180 turnaround switch like some other WOW players is what makes the difference in attitude and thinking. When I started playing FFXIV, I didn't have WOW fresh in my mind so I could do costant comparisons between the two games, or my affection towards WOW kinda like... influencing my taste, or opinion of the new game in any way.

WOW was a good memory but nothing more. I never forged a huge relationship with the game anyway, so it's probably what's different between me and other players that maybe (understandably) have more history with it. I engaged with it, liked it for a game I could spend some free time on, and then moved on when I got bored with it. That's kinda it. I understand that some people who have been playing for way more years than me might have a more affectionate memory or relationship with WOW, and that might be something that influences their reasoning sometimes. But it's also a bit of a common thing withing some communities like WOW- something that people could definitely abandon and move on, change attitude. Time and game change. There's no point in getting stuck in the past with the old WOW glory days, and that kind of sentiment- we're not getting back in time, and change should always be something to be embraced, especially in games and MMOS. Changing views, games and opinions is the base of not getting stuck in the same state of mind and I highly encourage people to do it.

As for the ‘critiquing WOW has become super extreme and almost like it’s a rule’... I mean... yeah? That’s the effect that often times ‘problematic’ things have on large crowds of people online. It’s to be expected, but it doesn’t come from nothing- a lot of bad things piled up in the game, the company, the community and their attitude- and it just so happened some things tipped the waters over and everything came out in a costant flow during the past year or so. But it doesn’t come from nothing- it’s just a result of people being genuinely critic of the game they engaged with, which is something good to do. 

So yeah, I appreciate the ask! I like hearing from people that follow other games too and may have experiences similar to mine, and I'm also grateful that you've been following me from so many years since I was playing WOW, to now.

That said... I would like to keep asks like these to a minimum. I enjoyed this ask because it gave me a point of inspiration to think about my journey from games, and the chance of talking about something I care about (and I would like to think I know something about too, degree and experience and all...), but I don't plan to respond to more comments or asks that might move towards a more 'discoursy' tone of this same "ffxiv and wow" topic. I do enjoy asks like these but you can't count on everyone making a good and civil argument when asking questions, so I do have to keep a firm hand on asks and topics sometimes, or people get rowdy and think my tumblr blog is the new reddit. It has already happened with some people coming to my askbox to complain about shit I genuinely couldn't care less about. That will just get your question deleted, go to reddit if you want to complain or fuel the flames. I'm just here to vibe.
