crowley starts talking as soon as aziraphale is back. he takes off his glasses, he is pacing, which is always a dead giveaway that he is nervous about something, and he explicitly asks aziraphale to LISTEN.

followed by "if i dont start talking now i'll never start talking", and one should think that would be enough for aziraphale to actually shut up and listen. yet he doesn't. he interrupts crowley and tells him to "hold that thought" aka to shut up and listen to him instead, and this is where it all goes wrong.

not when he presents the metatron's offer, not when crowley realizes he will take it, not when crowley holds his speech.

here. right here. right at the beginning because from the second aziraphale enters the bookshop, he does not care about what crowley has to say. he is not listening to a single word coming out of his mouth because all he wants to do is present the "good news".

aziraphale has been ignoring pretty much 90% of what came out of crowley's mouth this season, and now we are at 100% of not listening or comprehending. however, crowley loves him. crowley loves him and sees his excitement and shuts up even though it is visibly hurting him.

aziraphale mentions the metatron, says "i might have misjudged him", and that's it. crowley knows what he is about to tell him (at least the promotion part) and it's ripping a hole into him.

you can see that he is thinking, processing, but he knows. the sudden difference in his eyes between these frames and the last is very visible and accompanied by the first glints of tears along his waterline.

crowley knows this:

aziraphale isn't listening to him

gabriel is gone, meaning there is no supreme archangel

the metatron showed up on earth and then wanted to talk to aziraphale alone

now aziraphale is back and has "great news"

he's smart, he can connect the dots, he is painfully aware of how this is going to end.

want to know what the best part is?

between crowley taking his glasses off and the switch to the conversation with the metatron pass 35 seconds.

35 seconds. that's how long it takes for crowley's world to fall apart.

everything that comes after just makes it worse and gives him more details, but this when he knows that whatever aziraphale is going to ask of him, he will not do it, and aziraphale is going to leave him. there's a tiny spark of hope, which is why he asks.

We do not want protection, as the inherent idea of "protecting a woman" stems from patriarchy ....it demotes us from being equal humans to mere possessions of men...and at its core women will only receive protection when the men can see in us their mothers or daughters or sisters .... We demand that you care about women's safety not because we see are your mothers or daughters.... But because we are your EQUALS....Not just because they see us as daughters, mothers, sisters. Not because we are doctors, astronauts, athletes. Not because we’ve won awards, invented something or excelled exceptionally in our fields. But simply because we are humans. Mamta Banerjee a FEMALE chief minister says that she sees these protests as a conspiracy against her own party ...and then she goes on to say that she will give the death penalty to the rapists as some form of damage control...this is all in illusion as politicians like her know that there are 2 deterrents to a crime , the length of the punishment and most importantly the chance of actually being caught after committing a crime....it doesn't matter whether you will give a death sentence to the criminals if in 99 percent of times a rape case is filed the police get paid by the accusers , the victims get threatened into withdrawing their complaint , the court dates drag on , the prosecutors are paid off , evidence is mishandled and made to disappear. So it doesn't matter whether you will give capital punishments if you never go through the process of conviction of the criminals , it is all a lie and politicians who promise the death sentence are LIARS....

What do you think of the headcanon (I have no idea where I saw it first but it isn’t mine) that despise his arranging attitude in cars 1 Lightning is the only Piston cup racer who hasn’t done anything problematic enough to be cancelled (yet)

honestly, i think its impossible

first, cancellation isnt really a thing in nascar unless a driver did something like. a literal crime. but rather, every driver has haters, and every driver makes mistakes

race fans tend to find a lot of things problematic, they even like to add it onto their pile of reasons to hate a driver even if its the tiniest of things — so, in this case, lightning most definitely has some haters and “problematic behaviours”. even cal and bobby would have their moments

i’ll use an example from real life and say that being the most popular driver (which is probably extremely easy to achieve for lightning every awards season) definitely has gained him some people who’d like to see him crash head on into a wall (if you see the way every chase elliott hater treats him, you’ll understand what i mean)

but, also, lightning has anger issues. anger issues and racecars dont typically mix well, without a doubt lightning has acted on his angry impulses and retaliated against another driver for something irritating. this would gain him either a suspension or a penalty (most likely a suspension for a few races), and a brand new group of people who hate his guts. it’d be used as something problematic because safety, sportsmanship, and emotional maturity is something that a lot of race fans look for.

all of these things added up would probably make lightning a controversial — has a lot of fans, but a fair amount of haters who are quite passionate about it — driver for most.

his attitude in cars 1 before the tie breaker race probably made him have less fans, maybe a few stuck along for the ride just because they would be able brag about cheering for the 18 year old rookie who wouldve ended up being the youngest driver to ever win a piston cup, but for the most part some of those fans had to be grasping at straws to defend his honour and their own. however, at the tie breaker race (this is where sportsmanship and emotional maturity come in) his act with strip weathers would have gained him way more fans — a lot of them coming from strip to cheer for lightning after the king retires. also, having a historically famous piston cup driver as your crew chief most definitely gained him even more traction and affection.

maybe his next season his anger issues begin dying out with care, and those knee-jerk reactions stop becoming as common, but its just human nature to be angry with people you think are stupid, so hes not all innocent.

anyways, he still definitely doesnt have a clean driving slate. no driver does, to be fair, they’ll always be hated for something or other - but i feel lightning is still on the less hated and problematic side (along with both cal and bobby — those two are relatively tame compared to him, they may be even less hated than he is)

Giving the Sbg gang Madilyn Mei songs- Tyler 1/2

I'm sorry for splitting this into two but I lost the entirety of the second song analysis and half of this one so

Gonna get right into it, this will have spoilers for the S1 finale of school bus graveyard, yet again I reccomend listening to the song because it's very good (imo) and I'll only be referencing lyrics I can link to the characters

'song' 1- Tho I'm a tortoise (Hare verse)

where do I start, I know I'm technically supposed to give them all full songs but this verse just fit Tyler so well I had to talk about it

"a slap on the wrist, a tomb made of stone, a casket awaiting a nap"

starting off the verse right away I connect it with Tyler.

"A slap on the wrist" connects to very early on in the comic, when Ashlyn has to bring him back down to earth in order for him to actually process what's happening and help the rest of the group, while she doesn't physically slap him (even though she's close to) she still reminds him that if he doesn't start helping, he can get out. A reminder that, let's be honest, he needed in that moment.

"a tomb made of stone" and "a casket awaiting a nap" are just very clear reminders to me of his death, especially "a casket awaiting a nap" because it just makes me think of how inevitable his death was, how atleast one of the group was going to die in their situation and Tyler unfortunately was the first to go

"we all end up six feet below"makes me think of those many theory's people have that all of the main six are going to die at some point

"the medals I've won from the races I've run on display back home with my cat" can quite obviously connect with his baseball achievements

"we all end up six feet below, so why should we care about all that?" Makes me think of two things, the first is linking back to the previous lyric and how Tyler never really enjoyed baseball as he got older and how the only thing he's focused on is ways of getting into college. His awards dont really matters to him because he's fixated on creating a good future for him and his family.

The other way I see it is by linked it with a scene just after his death, when Ashlyn apologises and he tells her it's not her fault ( in this case "so why should we care bout all that?" Relates to him not caring/ not blaming Ashlyn or any of the group for his death- which side note was amazing character development)

"I run my mouth and I will 'till I'm old"

I mean, do I even need to explain this one, excessive bickering and speaking his unfiltered thoughts (especially to Aiden) has been one of Tyler's main traits since he first showed up.

Yet again this fits Tyler's personality almost perfectly. The thing I mentioned earlier about baseball also fits here with the "they wanted me to show off what I do, but I couldn't care any less to show you". And the rest just fits Tyler's character as a whole.

I swear the next part will be out quicker but motivation was like a rollercoaster lately

rosie just went full best mom award with charlie about vaggie - while all alastor did was half-listen to a rant and give her his radio for a song AFTER forcing a deal out of her before even giving her the info - and hes STILL getting the majority of her gratitude

like we all know hell's greatest dad was completely about pissing off lucifer for alastor but you can't tell me that charlie isnt starting to see alastor in a kind of fatherly role - she was actually pretty receptive during the song

and contrasted with some of the looks she gives lucifer like,

anyways all this to say i think its gonna break her heart pretty terribly when he inevitably betrays her and the hotel (bc at this point it would be a letdown if he didnt) and uses that deal against her

like i dont think alastor wants to hurt charlie, and whatever happens will be more of a collateral damage situation, but hes definitely not above doing it for his own gains atm

SO YEAH, im super interested to see how they write the two of them going forward from that bc i absolutely think they'll end up back on the same side and everything will be be resolved but i am fascinated to know what that looks like for these two
