Yes, he will still be strict with the rules, but he’s trying his best to not go overboard.

When you give him encouraging words, he turns around and give it to the students in his dorm.

He’s not as harsh as he was before, he helps remind students of the rules

Gonna be so self indulgent with this request but-

The request didn't really have much explination as to what exactly I should write, but I tried my best to write as much as possible :)

We all know Miss Heed is in dire need of attention

I mean- at the end of her episode we can see her losing her mind when someone doesn't give her attention! (aka 'love her')

Also, in her episode we see her using the love chemical on both men and women, so your gender identity doesn't really matter to her (idk if this is offencive or if it was necessary to put in-)

As long as you're giving her attention, she won't complain

I can see her taking you shopping and buying you clothes that make you feel comfortable, as well as match her general style

Since she makes little clips for her fans, I can see her having little draft videos of the two of you. She never posts them, because the people under her spell would be heartbroken knowing that Miss Heed had a lover, but she keeps them in her drafts so that she can look at them in her own spare time, to lift up her mood when you aren't around

If you haven't already gotten surgery, you bet she's either going to pay for your surgeries or get one of her minions, that are a professional in that specific field, to do the surgery for free. But, if you aren't comfortable with getting surgery from a person that is smitten with your partner, then she would gladly pay for someone who isn't under her 'spell' to do it

When, and if, you get top surgery, I can see her just lightly kissing your scars one you're healed and comfortable enough. She just wants to show how much she loves and appreciates you for loving her

She loves you the way you are, just how you love her the way she is

She was there for your ups and downs, just like you were there for hers

If she met you before transitioning, I can see her getting adjusted to your pronouns pretty quickly

Is the one to recommend hair cuts she finds cute. Miss Heed would recommend the typical mullet, buzz cut, undercut, fringe up, stuff like that (it's up to you to decide weather you like them or not)

I saw some people tattooing their top surgery scars, so if you decided to do that, she would be hesitant but would suggest to get a little matching tattoo on either her shoulder or wrist, just to show that she's supporting you

Gen!Vampire x Reader Headcanons 

So you know vampires, no matter the universe, are like absolute drama queens. (Seriously, you’re literally not allowed to become immortal unless you agree to develop a flair for the dramatic.) 

That being said, the same old thrills can get boring when you experience them again, and again, and again. So I’d imagine you’d meet somewhere quiet, somewhere very muted and unassuming. 

Maybe in the corner of a quaint little bookstore, or a particularly quiet exhibit of a local museum. They see you, minding your business, and immediately feel drawn to you. 

They’d introduce themselves, and maybe even offer some knowledge about the piece you’re looking at. If it’s a book, perhaps they share an exciting but mostly unknown fact about the author. If you’re at a museum, it’s about the painter/sculptor, etc. - you get the gist. 

If you offer an interesting fact in return, oh boy, are they immediately hooked. Most of the time people just kind of politely nod and wait for them to stop talking, but there you are, actually appreciating what they have to say and engaging with them! (It’s been a really long time since someone has sincerely done that.) 

The two of you chat for what seems like hours but is probably only minutes. At the end of your conversation, it’s obvious they don’t want you to go. If you offer your number to them first, they’re even more pleasantly surprised/impressed with you. And if you're on the shyer side, don’t worry- they have no qualms about giving you their number. (No like they literally hand you a business card with their name and landline number on it. Who uses landlines anymore??? Maybe that’s clue number one.) 

Anyway, enter the talking stage: arguably the vampire’s most favorite stage since they have A LOT to say/reminisce about and hardly anyone to ever tell it to. You spend a lot of time just TALKING to one another. Not even like, romantic, talking at first. It’s all just basic stuff: your likes and dislikes, your hopes and dreams, and your ideas for the future. They’re so old-fashioned and well mannered, that you assume everything is platonic - that you’re just becoming best friends. That is until they ask you out on a proper date.

Later, you ask them why it took so long to cut to the chase. Their answer: “Would you prefer to be courted by a total stranger?” You’re like: ‘That’s literally what dating is tho…’

For your date, they’d probably prefer somewhere more private, but accessible enough to where you still feel as if you’re safely in public. They know a lot about them can be intense- from their very spellbound gaze to their almost obsessive interest in you- and they don’t want you to feel suffocated, as if there was no way out. 

If the first couple of dates go well, they turn it up a notch. They wine and dine you, and make you feel like the most important person alive. Which, to them, you probably are. No experience is too much or over the top. I mean, you name it: skydiving at sunset, a picnic on an empty golf course under the stars, going to Vegas or Paris on a moment's notice- they’ve probably already done most of these things before. But of course, that time is nothing compared to the experience they share with you. 

You’ll very likely get swept up in this whirlwind romance, and start to plan your future around them, assuming they want the same. This is where things can get a little tricky depending upon your situation and what it is you’re ready for commitment-wise.  

Some vampires probably don’t mind as much if you’re ‘the one’- because when you live for an eternity, ‘the one’ becomes impossible to find. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean all vampires are unromantic. While most are pragmatic and practical there are the occasional ones driven by love and lust alone. (If you catch the attention of one of them, you can bet you're in for a rollercoaster ride of emotions.) More often than not though, they keep you at a smart, but still romantic distance until they believe they can trust you with their secret. 

At this point, you’ve probably been to each other’s places, maybe even met some of each other’s friends. (I think as to whether or not you’ve been intimate together depends on how convincing your vampire’s human persona is because if they’re not keeping a good enough masquerade in the beginning, how are they going to convince you that their super low body temperature is actually just a weird genetic thing?) 

When they finally confess what they are to you: your reaction means a lot to them. Whatever you say/do, they are going to internalize to the max. It’s okay if you don’t believe them right away- they don’t mind showing you proof now. Whether it’s their fangs or their superspeed or strength, they’re happy to show off. Their main concern is if you’re afraid of them, or reject them because of this. 

If you’re okay with it (after taking the time to process it all internally), they’re thrilled! I mean, like for the first time in a hundred years, they finally-fucking-feel-something-again thrilled! They can’t wait to just be themself around you! No more, ‘I already ate’ or ‘I sunburn easily’- they can just be with you. It’s the kind of love you’re lucky to get once in a lifetime, much once in many lifetimes. 

If you do reject them, they’ll be hurt, but ultimately understand. If you’ve managed to form a solid bond otherwise, I don’t think they’d erase your memories or hypnotize you into forgetting what they just said. However, if they have reason to believe you’d run and tell everyone else, they wouldn’t hesitate to make you forget their little, um, confession. 

But I also think if they really loved you, and just couldn’t let you go, they wouldn't break up with you, oh no. They’d keep you from finding out the truth while continuing to pursue and further your relationship together. And each time you get suspicious, they’d tell you the truth again and again, before erasing your memory if your reaction is still, shall we say, disagreeable. 

I mean, after all, time heals all things, right? And darling, they have all the time in the world.

As much as I love everyone's OC’s and AU’s, I cannot draw for everyone, and to be honest I am a lot less likely to draw someone's OC/AU if I’m requested. Don’t take it personally, I have a weird thing where I would much rather gift someone art rather than be asked to draw it for them, it makes it feel like my idea and therefore I’m more passionate about doing it for them! It’s why I don’t request people directly to draw anything for me. Again everyone's ideas are amazing and I love seeing how creative people are. It's just that I'd much rather gift people art of their OC/AU than be requested to draw it, I will draw things for people when I have the motivation to do so!

Can I draw your characters/AU's/designs?

Yes! You are always welcome to draw any of my characters, AU's or designs! Please make sure to @ me in your own post if you do so I can see it and reblog it! Why do you tag some of your art as suggestive?

Just to be safe, I know I draw “sus” stuff sometimes and I mainly want to make sure people keep themselves safe when viewing my stuff. My blog will never explicitly post anything NSFW, the suggestive tag on my art is mainly for sex jokes, pinup style clothing/posing or ass. Again it is just to be safe, you’re not obliged to reblogs with the same tag as me, it’s just to make sure people don’t see something they don’t want to.

Who are the recurring characters that keep showing up here?

Oh, you mean my children? Let me give a rundown:

Mango (He/They) - Mango is my sona! I use him all the time for answering things and also just in general. He is part Dr Mario and part MLP pony from another dimension that somehow got sucked into the SMG4 universe. He works as a doctor in the SMG4 universe, he’s a bit cynical at times but he’s still a kind and caring guy, he’s just sick and tired of all the BS that happens in the SMG4 universe.

Smug (He/Him) - Smug was originally a weird bootleg SMG3 plushie that got turned into a human somehow, he is still a plushie just much bigger now. He spends all his time scamming people in various ways to get what he wants out of them and has no care or regard for them. He has a friend/partner who’s a bootleg SMG4 plush, however she wasn’t transformed as much as him and therefore is the same as before, she can just move and talk now.

Telly (They/Them) - Telly is a happy little accident that somehow occurred out of nowhere, they are the child of Mr Puzzles! They are a shy yet friendly little child who just wants to make friends and watch TV. They struggle with meeting people due to their speaker not working as they can only make static noises to communicate, but they are adventurous and always looking to have fun! They love and look up to their father a lot, he's their biggest inspiration.

Yes! I have a werewolf SMG4 AU! I need to work on it. Werewolf SMG4 is a version of SMG4 who's been cursed to turn into an out of control werewolf every night, his friends are constantly working to try and find a solution to this curse while 4 is busy trying not to get anyone killed. As the name suggests, this is my Cyberpunk 2077 blog. I used to do a lot of virtual photography in that one - and yes, this time I mean real VP, though still no paid tools, just vanilla and free mods. I love Goro Takemura and ship my fem V with him heavily - wrote a dope fanfiction about them called 'Broken' (and following parts 'Gimme Danger' and 'Last Caress'). Bits of trivia: I'm Czech, cis woman (bi & poly and, frankly, hyper), 32, in a relationship, mom to a 5yo boy, a writer struggling to finish and publish her first original novel, drowning her sorrows in fanfic instead :). I got to most of my fandoms quite late in life, because where I live this info only started to properly flow in with the coming of the internet. I'm usually a casual fan, though when I hit a gold vein I can get a bit obsessed. I love writing fanfiction, which is mostly why I'm here on this site. I self-insert a lot (therapy writing) and usually ship us, with the rare occasion of finding a couple where I can identify with one of them (or mold them to my image because I like or even fancy them). I've spent my life believing I was hetero and discovered I'm not only once I (finally) was in a hetero relationship and had a kid, so... my ships are also hetero. It's a habit, not hating, I don't discredit any gay ships (maybe quietly to myself when they don't make any sense to me character-wise, lol). My AO3 account: XindiChick I usually try to write even the most niche of my ships in a way that doesn't require much knowledge of the original, so you're welcome to browse and read to your heart's content if you happen to like my style. So it's been a while since I made one of these but with the shut down of omegle, more people are joining the site to rp, I figured I'd explain some of the basics.

Now none of these are necessary, you can just do as you do but these are some of the 'norms' here on tumblr currently. They may change and evolve over time, they've done so countless times in my time on tumblr but here's this for now for those who might find it useful!! Please feel free to offer feedback on this, I struggle with giving instructions so I've tried to make it as clear as possible but my brain isn't the best with this kind of thing. I will correct anything that needs correcting and add things as time goes on, so please do check back if you request an explanation/addition to something as I will try to add it asap.

BASICS

Basic Etiquette

Don't reblog roleplays that aren't yours, often this will mess up peoples thread trackers and it's a nightmare.

Rather than reblog asks to continue them as roleplays, make a new post and link the ask in that post. This avoids blog clutter for both parties.

ALWAYS read peoples rules and about pages. No exceptions.

No one is obliged to write their character purely as they are in canon. Canon divergence, au, or just additional headcanons for canon characters is very common. Do not make issue with someone just because their writing for a character doesn't fit with how you see them. It's their character, just don't write with them if you don't like how they write them. Simple as that.

Don't godmod. This means don't take control of a persons character unless otherwise instructed by the other writer, do not assume attacks immediately hit/injure/kill their character without prior planning for such a thing. You can write the attack, just don't assume it lands. This also applies to your character being aware of things - just because YOU know something, doesn't mean your character does.

Mun does not equal muse. Many people play villains because they're fun, don't assume that these people share the viewpoints of such characters just because they're writing them. The RPC would be painfully boring without some villain muses to stir the pot!!

xkit rewritten

The absolute saviour of tumblr rp when you're on pc, unfortunately I don't believe it's available on the phone app but it's super useful for pc users. For chrome you can find it in the chrome extensions, I'm sure it's available similarly for other browsers. The functions on xkit that specifically benefit rp are: clean feed (for blacklisting any content you don't want to see), mutual checker, tag tracking+ and trim reblogs. Any others are entirely up to your discretion whether you want to use them or not. To use 'trim reblogs' the post must be in your drafts or posted, then you can use the little scissor tool at the bottom of the post to snip off older replies and avoid posts becoming excessively long.

Settings

So if you're like me and want a chronological timeline for those you follow? Here's how to do that. Go into account settings. Not the blog settings to edit how that looks, you want the settings that has your account info, dashboard preferences, ect. Click 'Dashboard', which should be on the right hand side menu on your screen if you're using pc. Optional: Enable 'Show timestamps' so you can see how old posts are. I find this useful as it ensures I'm not responding to something that is 5 years old lmfao. Scroll down and turn off 'Best stuff first'. This should make your 'Following' tab chronological, ensuring you see whenever people you follow are posting.

Blog Design

Try to make sure you have a header and an icon for your blog, you can set those using the 'blog settings' tab. Even if there's no picture of your character themselves, try to use an image that captures their vibe - this advice is for both the icon and the header tbh. While not having one isn't bad, it will make people less likely to follow back or perhaps even block you! Often iconless/headerless blogs are spam bots and everyone loathes those.

Meanings of words commonly used by RP accounts:

Mutuals - Your mutuals or 'moots' are those following you that you follow back. Private - This means that the blog only interacts with Mutuals. Selective/semi-selective - Won't roleplay with everyone, they'll rp with people based on their own preference. Thread - A single rp storyline. Verses - Different timelines of characters. Eg. Kidverse, fantasyverse, ect. Mun/Mundane - You! The writer of the blog! Muse/Muses - Character/s you're writing. Faceclaim - The 'actor' of your muse, whether canon or otherwise. Who do you imagine playing them when writing or whose icons would you use for them.

Tagging

When writing with someone it's a good idea to put their username in the tags at the very least, this allows them to find your threads easier. ie: '#magpiesmemes' would be used by others if they were to write with this blog.

Making tags for individual threads is also useful, meaning you can find specific rps far quicker. They don't have to be fancy but some people do like to make fancy ones. A nice simple one would be 'Thread: Threadname'.

Also having tags for specific verses is a good idea, indicating to your rp partner what timeline they're writing it. Something like '#kidverse' will do the job but you also can make those fancy.

Having a tag for rp memes you've reposted is a good idea also, meaning it's easier to find if someone wants to send you something. '#memes' does the job just fine.

Lastly, if you're a multimuse then having character tags is a good idea, indicating to people what character they're writing with. Something like '#charactername' is fine but again, any tag can be fancied up to your likings.

Pinned Post

Having a pinned post at the top of your blog has become fairly standard practice in the rp scene these days. Usually this has your important links on it (rules/muse pages) and some explanation of what kind of blog yours is. For example: 'This is a Private, selective blog for charactername from fandom/an oc. Written by mun. [Ruleslink] - [Muselink]' This would work as a simple rudimentary introduction for people checking out your blog. You can pin a post by selecting the three dots in the top right on it after it is posted, ensuring it's the first thing people see when looking at your blog. This is mine, for example but it needn't be so indepth. I just have zero chill. If you're writing on a sideblog then it's best to also have a pinned post on your main account with a link leading to your roleplay account. That way people will know that you're a roleplayer looking to write if you follow them - and also they may follow the link to check out your stuff!

Making Rules/Muse pages

These are important to indicate to people what you will or won't write, your personal writing preferences, ect. Many people won't rp with people who don't have these as it means they can't be sure of boundaries. People often use a post to do this, linking it in their pinned post to ensure people can find it. [Tutorial on how to link posts here]. That's the simplest way. You can also make a google doc or even make a carrd instead, linking them for people to refer to for this information. Alternatively you can use your pinned post and simply list it there - though there is risk of it cluttering your page if you have many muses. To avoid that, you can use a 'read more' such as the one this post was under. Make a new paragraph and various options come up, you want the one that looks like two straight lines with a squiggly line between them. [This icon].

Things to have on your rule page:

- Things you won't roleplay/triggers. - What is your stance on shipping (do you autoship with people who rp your muses partner or do you prefer chemistry first, ect.) - Writing length preference. Do you prefer short simple threads, paragraphs or more novella style? - Do you use icons? Do you prefer your partner would use/not use icons? Same questions with text formatting. - Tagging requests. Are there things you want to avoid on your dash using xkit's blacklist?

Things to have on your muse/about page:

- Basic description of who your character is, it's best to write it as if you're explaining them to someone who hasn't seen what they're from - even if they're a popular canon character. - If they're an oc with a universe of their own, a basic explanation of that universe would be useful but isn't really necessary if you can't/don't want to. - A picture reference of some kind is also useful, if possible. - A description of the verses you write them in. For example: 'Kidverse - This verse is set when my character is aged whatever and this is a short description of what they're like in that particular verse.'

Advertising Your Blog

One of the many ways people advertise their blogs is by posting self promos. These are usually edited images with a little blog tagline, links to important pages and a short description of your blog. Here's an example of my own. Including tags of the fandoms you write in/write with is a good way to try and draw attention your way. Alternatively, if you're limited in your image making/editing skills you can make a simple post, perhaps with an icon or gif to draw attention. Explain your blog, what you write, who you're looking to write with, ect. Make sure to include tags so people can see it!

Though not necessary, you can find icons to use usually by searching the 'charactername icons' or 'faceclaim icons' right here on tumblr, be sure to follow peoples instructions for using them though. Some people will want a like/reblog for their use.

Formatting

Many people, like myself, use some form of text formatting when writing. Some of the usual ones are small text, like the one I'm writing in now. That's done either by using 'ctrl+shift+-', 'ctrl+-' or you can use this:

while highlighting text. This tool also allows you to colour your text, italicise, ect. Play around with it in your own time to see what works for you. Some other useful keyboard shortcuts:

'Ctrl+b' - Bolds highlighted selection 'Ctrl+i' - Italicises highlighted selection 'Ctrl+z' - Undo, good for if you've accidentally erased text you didn't mean to erase.

ok so like. i mean, you're on the fandom website, right, so i assume youve been in fandoms. idk if youve ever been in a really, REALLY big fandom, at the same time that said fandom was also producing content (even if the source material was not). think d*stiel post nov 5, or undert*le circa late 2015/early 2016, or z*lda after totk came out, or h*rry p*tter as the seventh book was being released. (i'm censoring to avoid a false positive of anybody's blacklist except in the case of the last one, which i am censoring out of <3 disrespect.) like there's something REALLY luxurious about being in ANY large and active fandom and it's mostly the power of crowdsourcing. st*r tr*k 2009's tarsus iv headcanons. the storm trooper lore re: the f*rce awakens before the second two movies came out. everyone just kind of agreeing that dean w*nchester was a teenage hooker. you know?

like, that's "just fanon," sure, but part of the beauty of it is that no one person makes up fanon, we all gather in the biggest writing group in the world and collectively go insane and bat ideas back and forth. there are a hundred THOUSAND fics about bucky barnes on ao3 and that's just the people who were writing, not even counting artists and gifmakers and meta-writers and people who just reblog stuff. i can't possibly begin to put an accurate number to how many people are in any given fandom at any given time, but imagine (on the low end, i'm sure) there are THOUSANDS, perhaps tens of thousands, of people going nuts about stevebucky at all times. tens of THOUSANDS people doing "yes and" with each other on the internet 24 hours a day seven days a week. it's just like being in any fandom, you log on to your dash and see what the mewchies posted while you were gone, but in a fandom so huge and so active you were getting bombarded with idea after idea after idea every single second, so if you don't like one you're spoiled for choice in what you engage with next. it didn't even matter that cap3 was two years away or that it sucked when it finally got here because we collectively wrote cap3 a million times over. like, genuinely, it was a mass creative exercise. it's the biggest writing group in the world. for better or worse, we were shaping our own version of that universe, without any input from or regard to the people who actually created the characters and movie, in a way that compelled most strongly to our own tastes and demographic.

what made this particular movie/fandom special though was a few things. firstly i still genuinely believe it was ahead of its time...marvel shit pre disney was allowed to be political in ways it is ABSOLUTELY not now. like, cap2 could say "the government is secretly full of nazis and they all need to burn" in 2014 two years before the 2016 election and 7 years before jan 6. like you just couldn't say that now. "war bad" is an oldie but goodie, but "our entire government is corrupt and needs to be torn into flaming pieces and cast into the potomac" is um. pretty radical. so is, by the way, "men as victims" and "men having emotions" etcetc. like, not in fandom, fandom all but invented that shit, but as far as dumb superhero movies go. i can't tell you the number of metas i read AND WROTE discussing steve rogers and masculinity and how all that was portrayed, intentionally or not, in that fucking film. i had entire separate universes built up in my head for steve who was born a cis girl and steve who decided later in life that "nonbinary" or "trans woman" was a better fit and then steve who was born as a cis boy and remained a man his whole life but felt weird and different ways about being queer which clashed with the weird and different ways BARNES felt about being queer. i'm not saying the film (or the fandom! good lord) was perfect, it was a product of its time, but it was also WAY ahead of its time too. it was weird to expect the next film to come out and actually, like, be good. it wasnt, but we fully believed it would be and that wasn't delusional behavior because the last one had been. i would never have that kind of faith in a marvel project now because they've been bought by disney.

oh yeah and that's the other thing too like. speaking of queer people. gay marriage wasn't legal in the US on a federal level until 2015, and you couldn't just flip on your TV and see them whenever you wanted. ten years doesn't seem like that long ago in the grand scheme of things but like, we lived on glee and cw/mtv queerbait (disclaimer that i personally only participated in cw queerbait) and that was it. we had crumbs. and like when people write gay characters theyre Just Gay, but if you decide to be crazy stupid in a slash fandom you can decide these layered characters are gay and that's even better rep than um whatever was going on in other pieces of media. these guys are both so lonely and out of step with time and lack other people with "shared life experiences" (girl what the hell was that) and their connection w each other keeps them afloat in a world that doesn't want them so like of COURSE it seems like it's supposed to be romantic. and like, i could and did make myself and my tumblr buds crrrazy (and got made crazy by them) thinking about:

how steve's size when small and again when big interacted w his gender identity and his sexuality and how that sexuality manifested. barnes's identity As A Man hinging on his ability to go to war for his country bc Thats What Men Did but now he's no longer fit because theres worms in his brain. loss of bodily autonomy which usually happens to women and natasha being later in that journey than steve and bucky are and so close to being at peace with it but not there yet. stigmatization of seeking treatment for mental health issues lessened by the presence of sam who could have been a Macho Tough Guy but actually gives off strong Talk About Our Feelings And Be Soft vibes. don't even get me started on the relationship (predatory) between steve and rumlow and how it parallels the one between barnes and pierce (and if any of you motherfuckers BREATHE a word of that h*dra tr*sh p*rty shit in my direction i will END you) and the stigma that comes from being preyed on when vulnerable As Men. steve's depression and ptsd and him getting triggered by, yes, the fucking ALS ice bucket challenge. the collective belief that he was conscious when he was frozen even though nobody said that so that he and barnes could have that in common too. the headcanon about barnes having roma heritage - shoutout to not easily conquered my beloved, and the 14k smut coda i wrote for it✌ speaking of smut, i would be remiss also not to mention there was a STRONG element of collective lust involved. i'm immune to 99% of it bc im ace but the winter soldier was uh. VERY graceful. you know? i didn't write 14k of porn because i was uncompelled. we were on one. we went fucking crazy. fandom in general but especially big fandoms have a kind of nonstop endless well of creative energy born from obsession that is the absolute envy of people like my mortal enemy grrm. we NEVER quit.

also, HISTORY (and other vaguely educational subjects). we were all so desperate to know how steve and bucky would have lived in the years we couldn't see them it sparked a sitewide interest in 1940s american history. there was a thing about bananas tasting different now because of a plague. m&ms being invented as wartime candy. stuff about how shoebox apartments looked and how rations worked. 1940s recipes and radio shows. the 1940s queer movement and how it interacted with ballroom dancing and private drag get-togethers. how amputations work and how prosthetic limbs work in real life so we could extrapolate it to fantasy. how to hand-draw that fucking arm in photoshop. why soldiers are trained to say their serial numbers when captured. what ww2 was like. what dog tags are for. what did they get in the ration packs. what brand of cigarettes did they smoke. what brand (and i am being so serious, i STILL own a tube) of LIPSTICK did peggy carter use. caloric intake of someone with a 4x speed metabolism and how much famine peanut butter he'd need to eat daily to keep from starving to death. oppression of irish immigrants and their children/grandchildren back in the 1940s. the difference between conservatives and fascists, back when there was a difference. what activities generally took place on these mysterious but ever-present new york city docks. just exactly HOW many terrible movies and tv shows has sebastian stan been in ranked by his resemblance to james buchanan barnes in each one. (i personally went through his entire imdb list at the time and then made a venn diagram.) electroswing! teachers and professors would have killed for their classes to have the kind of enthusiasm a bunch of mentally ill teenagers and 20-somethings on tunglr dot edu were showing about this one very specific set of subjects. this film also sparked my love of fight scenes. if you've read this fic or this fic and liked the Big Fight Scenes in them, you can thank cap2 for leading me down that path.

and then yes there was also discourse. my personal most hated thing was the above mentioned h*dra tr*sh p*rty (DO NOT GOOGLE THAT, i will just tell you it's nazi rape porn🤢 and i hope everyone involved is having a bad day today) and also the fact that SOME FUCKING PEOPLE can't understand "don't be shitheads about a fanfic where the author can see you doing it." but then ofc people were also sexist about nat and racist about sam and minimalizing those guys (and every other character besides tony really but sometimes him too) for the two white male leads was a whole thing. and on the funnier side of things you had (justifiably, i suppose) bitter st*ny fans who HATED what those two got in avengers and got real mad when stucky started outpacing them on ao3. and people complaining about the characters being too uwu soft. and then other people arguing whether or not barnes counted as disabled when he was missing a Whole arm. and THEN discourse about was it ethical to remove the arm and build him a new one ESPECIALLY without his consent (if people don't know they're being ableist in their fanfics hypothetically is it still ok to kill them with hammers?) and why was tony doing it if that guy killed his parents and is it ok that we keep making tony not that mad about his dead parents is it not enough that barnes stole his limelight as the guy who gets shipped with steve but what if all three of them fucked but can you really fuck the guy who offed your folks but ACTUALLY isn't it cringe to like tony anyway since RDJ and gwenyth paltrow are bad people and who says chris evans are sebastian stan are such good people etcetcetc. and let us not even get started on the plausibility of the avengers tower fanon after age of ultron came out and it turns out nobody became friends and they all still hated and mistrusted each other. and whether or not the avengers could be considered found family if the other characters were constantly getting shafted into being barnes's little support animals. and then ofc every once in awhile one of the actors of people involved creatively would say something ranging from mildly controversial to absolutely horrible on the internet and we'd all fight about THAT for awhile like a dog with a bone. i mean. typical infighting of any fandom tbh.

but i was very happy. it was all the most enormous thought experiment and creative endeavor (and semi-educational adventure??) that we all participated in daily for like two-ish years without stopping ever. i loved doing it. AND, when you click with a piece of media like that, you also click with other people who clicked with that same piece of media, so in addition to the sheer level of dopamine going into my brain at all times i also formed decade-long friendships that will certainly last the entirety of my lifetime, and when we're in our 90s in nursing homes i will be able to say, "we are friends because i wrote 14k of smut for your fanfic" or "we are friends because i couldn't get enough of your gifsets" or whatever because you know, we quite literally went to stucky together.

And as long as you aren't interrupted by every single one of his friends. It's happened before. It'll happen again.

If you're not a member of Hotel Valhalla, Magnus has a lot of worries about you. Least of all is his worry that he's going to have a hard time explaining why he doesn't age.

And as soon as he realizes that, he'll spiral into the realization that he will outlive you. I think Magnus would try to distance himself once he realizes that.

But staying away from you is probably the worst decision he's ever made. And his friends tell him that. It takes Alex finally taking Magnus aside and telling him that he's an idiot that finally gets through to him.

By that time, you've had enough of him avoiding you as well. When you confront him, he realizes that he can't just avoid you.

He doesn't tell you everything (not yet anyway) but you understand well enough that he's scared of losing you. Just give him some comfort and tell him you're not going anywhere.

He'll still be worried about the future but he can enjoy the time he can spend with you.

If you need comfort about anything, Mangus is there for you. He'll comfort you however you prefer but his go to method is taking you somewhere nice and listening to your problems before taking your mind off whatever's bothering you.

But if you just want someone to give you physical affection or even give you some personal space, Magnus is willing to do whatever you ask of him.

He values the support you show him, and he wants you to know that he's there for you as well.

so no, no headcanons but i enjoy their dynamic similarly to how i enjoy my senju bros fics as well - extremely co-dependent (they're each other's last brother and they'd do everything for the other one and to ensure the other one survives) but now 10x more intense if you add romance and sex to it

tender as FUCK - they may be battle-hardened shinobi but they can treat each other no other way but with care and love. (which is funny coming from a dark enjoyer like me but idk, when it comes to these two, i just need them to be SOFT. probably because canon doesn't show them soft with each other so i need it in fanon damnit.) including lots of touching, especially from hashirama's side, while tobirama is more subtle - a litte squeeze of hashi's shoulder here, a little brush of hashi's hair there...

possessive and jealous and over-protective both of them!! hashi plants his mokuton seeds in tobirama to always be able to track him without telling him (not that he needs to; tobirama is a sensor) (it makes for a nice sliiightly dark but not all too dark hashi too), whereas tobirama tries to set everyone on fire with his look alone when someone even dares to look at hashirama for too long, especially one uchiha fucking madara. (let's be real: tobirama seemed already jealous of madara in canon - if you add romantic hashitobi to the mix, that's gonna be even stronger and worse)

i have no problem with adding mito to the mix!!! my gal marries one guy and by marrying him she gets another one as a bonus? my god, good for her, very good for her. she would take care of her boys so good 💖 (i definitely meant that in a dirty way). (on that note, i absolutely do NOT enjoy fics in which hashirama cheats on mito with tobirama (or literally anyone else for that matter), i love hashimito and just mito herself way too much. cheating hashirama does not spark joy. either she's never been part of the equation, to begin with, or she's an active part - there's no in-between for me)

honestly, i just want them soft and loving and caring with just a tad bit of unhinged behavior, and adding incest to the mix makes it simply more intense and spicier too 🤷‍♀️

i kinda just realized the game's writing sucks ass and the fandom is kinda lame and there's better stuff out there, LMAO

like don't get me wrong the game's well-crafted (for the most part) but the story and character writing is the weakest part. what fans assume is its strong character writing is mainly due to their own headcanons, theories, and interpretations and not what's clear-cut in the dialogue and events. there are some small details? but only so much. hell, even i fell into this trap. also omocat's a shit person lolololololololol

i think i also got super tired of the way the fandom's shaped. since it's a newer fandom, it's bound to have a lot of kids. and kids don't know a thing about what makes fandom good. from what i see (and from what others have observed iirc) modern fandoms have this issue where all the "content" is supposed to come from popular or skilled creators--not just fans in general. sure, you can draw, write, and share whatever you've got, but if you're not popular, super skilled in digital art, or just straight-up lucky, you're likely not going to get anywhere aside from a couple of notes here and there. and that's usually if the more popular blogs notice you. i can go on and on about how this is capitalism's fault but then we'd be here all day and i'd be biting off a lot more than i can chew and/or talking out of my ass

what i mean by this is, if you're going to craft a super long, arc-filled AU fanfic that serves as a sort of sequel to the source, and you're not popular or willing to bust your ass drawing art for it, do not go into it with dreams of people talking about how great the writing is and sharing their fanart outside of your friend or mutual circle. i had a wholeass crisis around the lack of attention i got despite what i thought was hard work in around june and lord almighty i think that's what really solidified my loss of interest.

also it's got that issue where if a fandom can't sustain itself on what's found in canon it's going to drown itself in AUs where the characters are completely unrecognizable and these people need to come up with OCs for the love of god. i'll admit my AU probably fell under this trap too but my glasses were too rose-tinted for me to see it

i think the main thing is just that it's really hard for me to draw or write for myself if it's a huge project i'm working on, so i'm really just sticking to RPing out longass narratives with my partner. and god that's been so much more enjoyable than posting chapters and getting like, minimal comments and reblogs on them. highly recommend

I've been thinking a lot today about how self hatred seems pretty integral to straight culture, at least from all the passing remarks my gay friends and peers have made throughout our time together. Like that analysis of Carmen and Richie from The Bear is really sticking with me, the way fans resonate and are more forgiving of the latter because he's that of your average red blooded working class old school straight dude, while Carmen is seen as prissy and pathetic and weird by some fans for not linearly healing from unlinear trauma, for standing up for women and taking no issue with having them in power, some headcanoning him gay or trans for all this. I was watching Bojack Horseman with one of my old roommates last year and he made a comment like "it's so crazy that they made Diane go this hard for feminism and they still made her straight", almost as if to imply straight women don't need feminism and if their feminism goes any deeper than centricism or liberalism then they've probably got more going on, so the reverse of this exists for straight women too.

It's fascinating. People will assume you're gay if you're a nice / sensitive dude, as evidenced both by real life interactions that've been recounted to me by my straight guy friends and by the countless amount of headcanons that any boy or man in fiction with trauma who tries to do the right thing is a trans guy or a gay dude. I mindlessly reblog pictures of shirtless guys + male positivity posts cus "hey that's cool, I could look like that. I hope people think I'm as cool as this guy looks." Men are pretty cool" " or "yeah, men do have the potential to be good. I'm a man, I like to think this is the case" and very little more, and next thing I know I've got like 3 dudes trying to slide in my DMs. I have my personal grievances with these lines of thinking; I think they're really limiting and kind of regressive, especially from the perspective of anyone who's serious about any kind of gender or sexuality liberation. I don't think it's a crime to have headcanons or to want to find other gay people or to want to be seen in your media of choice, or any of that stuff, but I do think it's kinda rude to talk about straight people who don't fit into neat little boxes of "rampant abuser" and "vapid floozy who'll agree to anything as long as it gets her a husband" as if they're, like, weirdos or a waste or something. Part of sex and gender and feminist liberation means that everyone gets to do whatever they want. You're gonna meet a lot of straight women like Diane Nguyen, you're gonna meet a lot of straight men like Carmen Berzatto.

More importantly though, it just makes me kinda sad. Like the only way to love yourself and your gender and the people around you is so lacking in straight culture that people will sooner assume you're gay when you do good things for the women in your life or when a woman has a life outside of her husband. Like why did we do this to ourselves. It sucks bad.

Ok, so, I wanted to do some art for today, but I never got around to it, so I guess what I'm doing for day 30 is just a positive rant about this community and how awesome it is

Day 30, Home

For my whole life, I've felt most at peace in nature. I don't quite know why, but I know it makes me feel safe. I'll go on 3 hour long bike rides that are really just 1 hour of biking and 2 hours of sitting by the river. I'll sit out in the prickly, hot, uncomfortable backyard just to be near a tree, and I'll do anything to just stay still on a forest path and slowly watch nature return to how it was before I came.

And I think that's why I love Rangers Apprentice so much. The whole vibe of the books, of the universe, is so familiar to me. It's also taught me things that I view as necessary, like how to properly watch someone who might be trouble without them knowing I am, or how to become as unobtrusive as possible in a crowded room. The universe and the community just feel so much like home to me, so safe and kind, that it's hard to imagine anything but my actual home making me feel so happy.

This is the part of the post that I'm a bit iffy about including cause I don't wanna bother people, but here we go: some of the best people I've met online have been in this fandom, they're just so sweet and kind and everytime I get a note from them with a message I smile.

You're so sweet and uplifting, and you were honestly a major help when I asked people for Irish lullaby recommendations. You're absolutely awesome and amazing, and one of the reasons I love this fandom as much as I do.

Unsure if this is for the duo meme or for the character meme that you reblogged from me--so I'll just do both! (Sorry it took so long, but to be fair, it is long.)

Duo meme:

(the 'swings a bat at the discourse' is primarily because i don't like sniperhaul, and some interpretations of sniperhaul that i've seen really rub me the wrong way)

Character Meme:

For one Tsutsumi Kaina (keep in mind, I haven't yet watched her anime episodes, just the first 8 manga chapters where she appears):

What I like about them: Interesting character, highly disillusioned, has blood on her hands and is struggling to know how to move forward after trauma. Her character/personality archetype is usually a man/male-dominated, so it's awesome to have Nagant there.

What I dislike about them: I read 8 chapters of the manga just for her, and it was 25% fanservice, 50% making Deku look good (obligatory fuck Deku), and only 25% character exploration/backstory. Also she gets sucked into the Mary Sue "Deku is so cool!!!" vortex.

Favorite moment: When Chisaki is saying stuff about how he just wants to go apologize to Pops, and she's looking at him and you can just *see* that she's in the same sort of pain even if it isn't for the same sort of reasons.

Least favorite moment: Any time when she starts talking about how Deku is so cool/bright/whatever.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: One where she killed Deku, or her struggling to integrate into normal society, or her interacting with UA students that aren't Deku in all her cynical, disillusioned, ex-assassin political prisoner glory (especially Bakugo)--honestly just her in general.

An interesting AU for this character: One where she broke out of Tartarus way earlier and ended being taken in by (and falling in love with) one Bakugo Mitsuki and her eight-year-old son Katuski.

A crossover: Honestly? No idea. Maybe AtLA, since that's...kind of my go-to crossover.

OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): Bakugo Fucking Mitsuki. Listen. Listen. You've got the older lesbian appeal AND you're pairing up a cynical low-energy character who's Seen Some Shit with a spunky, slightly maniacal high-energy character who's determined to take on the world and win, and they're both Just A Little Bit Fucked Up. What's not to love???

Other ships?: Not really. Mitsuki's the only romantic one.

BROTP: Probably with Chisaki. They've both Seen Some Shit, and Chisaki probably trusts her a lot more than he trusts most people given that she actually tried to help him out when he was at his weakest.

NOTP: I could say Sniperhaul, but I don't actually have that much of a reaction to it.

An assortment of headcanons!:

First up: poet Kaina. She was trained and used as a sniper; that means a lot of downtime, a lot of time to think. I like to think that she took some notebooks or loose paper and writing utensils with her and used that downtime to play with words and write some poetry. She doesn't really consider herself a poet, though, because in her mind she's never written Real Poetry. She's also never shown her work to others.

I also headcanon her as a lesbian, and as grayromantic and graysexual. She's had like four crushes in her entire life, including Mitsuki, who she met once when they were both in their twenties and at the behest of the HPSC Kaina served as a temporary model at the fashion company Mitsuki was working as a designer at. Unlike her other three crushes, Mitsuki actually liked her back. Unfortunately their little affair was short-lived, as Kaina moved on to other gigs (again, at the behest of the HPSC) and Mitsuki eventually moved on to marry Masura.

For Chisaki: I've already talked about him here, so I may be referring to that at points.

What I like about them: He's interesting and relatable to me, at least as a character. In the other ask meme I mention that I relate to him as someone who tends to unwittingly self-sabotage in the relationship/social realm. I also, in a sense, like how open and up-for-interpretation his character is, which means that I can take the minor scraps we get and run.

What I dislike about them: Probably that he's such a one-note villain. His character also has a lot of ableism tied into it; ex. he's clearly mentally ill, but it's used as part of Oh Look At How Scary And Weird He Is, and later he doesn't even get prosthetics or help outside of Nagant who also has her own shit to deal with and is not qualified when he gets his arms cut off and thrown into solitary for weeks if not months, and this is treated as--fine? Normal? Deserved? Fuck that noise.

Favorite moment: When he's lying maskless on that cot after the raid, hands bound, vulnerable and helpless and ready to die. Like yesss, torture the man who thought he was invincible!

Least favorite moment: I'm...not sure honestly. Maybe the part where he puts Pops in a coma--not because I necessarily dislike what it says about his character, but because it makes me want to cringe and bury my face in my hands and shout 'NO NO YOU'RE MAKING A MISTAKE!'

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: GET THIS MAN SOME THERAPY AND SOME FRIENDS OUTSIDE THE YAKUZA PLEASE

An interesting AU for this character: ...so many. I have. So fucking many. But one in particular that stands out as close enough to canon but still interesting is one where the Tartarus breakout never happens, or they capture the LOV before it happens, and afterwards the HPSC ends up (under pressure from the public) creating a villain reform pilot program--only the HPSC doesn't want it to succeed, so they take the least sympathetic villains and set them up in situations where they're super likely to fail. Tomura's set up with Small Might, Dabi's sent to Endeavor (which prompts Fuyumi to finally move out and take Dabi with her), and Chisaki ends up with Aizawa. Aizawa's no longer parenting Eri by this point, since she has control over her Quirk, but Chisaki is still forced to interact with one of the heroes in the raid, as well as hero students and other heroes teaching at UA, without causing damage or getting himself sent back to Tartarus.

A crossover: With Inside Job. I want him to meet and accidentally bond with Reagan Ridley.

OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): Chronohaul alllll the way, baby.

Other ships?: Overzawa is fun; I've played around with Fuyumi/Chisaki; and of course pairing him with a few of his Precepts always makes for a fun time. But often times I put him in a threesome with Chrono and someone else (Fuyumi, Aizawa, one of the Precepts, sometimes Dabi). Chisaki's versatile.

BROTP: I?? Do not know. Probably also Chronohaul again, or (specifically platonic this time) Fuyumi & Chisaki; I hc him as aro (and I am aro myself) and therefore it is strange and weird to necessarily sort out 'romantic' and platonic relationships with this guy.

NOTP: I once saw Overhaul and Deku being shipped. It haunts my nightmares.

An assortment of headcanons!: God, what headcanons do I have that I haven't already talked about, or that wouldn't double the length of this ask? I definitely hc that Kai was a weird kid as a teenager: not very popular, always studying. I like to think that he might have savant syndrome (otherwise Overhaul the Quirk would be unworkable, the way I have it set up) and somehow managed to test out of every single one of the local middle/high school's math classes, so he just...doesn't have to take math. He does really well in science and math classes as a teen, and studies anatomy and biochemistry on his own because he wants to be able to put back together someone he might have accidentally taken apart with Overhaul (he has Trauma(TM) surrounding that), but doesn't do so well when it comes to literature or history.
