soon the topic turns to your love, and the words blend together, a cacophony in my ears. my chest grows hot with envy. if only you spoke of me with such reverence.

i take the apple from your plate, fit my mouth over your bite, and crunch into its mealy flesh.

it and i are the same, bruised, and bitten, and my mouth is warm from the ghost of yours.

i finish the whole fruit as you continue to speak. you dont notice it was yours. you dont notice i am yours.

"Your eating breakfast isn't going to change that." Her lips curled in a snarl, but he cut her off. "I know people are dying. We are going to help them, but you need to have some strength left, or you won't be able to."

thinking about those lovely headcanons i've read around here before about mike and karen buying foods they know will likes so that he can have them when he comes over.. continuing that food + love train of thought, consider this: mike calling karen when he's older to ask her about certain recipes for dishes of hers that will used to love, so that he can make them for him now that they live together and all. :')

and, of course, will ends up loving it all, but it's less because of mike's culinary prowess (though it does definitely help hehe), and more due to the fact that he's making it all with love. ❤️
