Rotting brain alert: Betty wished for Simon to be kept safe, but Simon is actively trying to make himself the Ice King again to ensure the safety and magical status of Fionna and Cake's world, but Fionna and Cake's world was illegally created in his head, so by the rules Scarab is following Simon must be killed, but Golbetty will never sign off on that death warrant bc the express purpose of her existence right now is "keep Simon safe", but Scarab is doing all of this for selfish reasons (to take down Prismo over an old beef) so he's likely not going to take kindly to Golbetty saying he can't kill Simon to destroy the illegal universe, and ajfhdksahfkjlda LOOK AT ALL THIS SET-UP FOR A GREAT SEASON FINALE, OH MY G O D

The Ice King in OG Adventure Time: Kooky, crazy, definitely got some evil tendencies due to the constant string of kidnapping princesses but is usually played for laughs and is easy to defeat

Me: Haha, classic kid's media antagonist, he's never gonna be scary

Simon in the beginning of Fionna and Cake: Starting to relapse a little, snaps at people almost irrationally, acts pretty off-putting and almost threateningly towards Fionna and Cake when they first appear, fucking kidnaps Choose Goose in order to summon Golb and outright says that he's nothing but a spell battery to him ("and you probably still have one good jolt left in you")

Me: Oh... oh wow

The Winter King: is an actual psychopath underneath all the glitter and charm, knowingly cursed the Candy Queen and gave her all of his baggage and shows zero remorse, either killed Marceline or froze her and created an ice double who is very likely kept docile and imprisoned

Me: OHHHHHHH MY GOD
