Defense Witches 2 - Year 3
Rather short post this time not all the third-year students were released ;_; anyways here's an assumption on what the character descriptions are based on what I was able to translate.
Cecilia - Earth Witch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Daisy's older sister. Former student council president. Although she has a kind and gentle personality, with master-level magical power and high charisma, she pulls her friends together. Even now that she retired as the student council president, she is a leader at the magic school. There are many people who rely on her and she is respected as the "secret student council president." She dotes on Daisy and has a silly side."
Bianca - Fire Witch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Becky's older sister. Vice student council president. The eldest daughter of a prestigious noble family, she is a celebrity who is highly regarded in society due to her gorgeous appearance. Although she usually tries to act like an aristocrat, she has a friendly relationship with her fellow magical girls. She had a fiance chosen by her parents, but he recently went missing. I'm a little relieved that the marriage proposal fell through."
Lillian - Lighting Witch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Chloe's older sister. I'm so scared that even if someone I don't know approaches me I'll get scared and run away. (She's fine if it's a magical girl who is a friend or a comrade.) However, her magical powers is unparalleled and it's rumored she can even surpass her teachers when it comes to long-distance lighting magic. My favorite candy is marshmallows."
Iris - Ice Witch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Nicola's older sister. Current student council president. Very cool, and her smile from time to time is mysterious. She loves comedy and has a causal side where she bursts out with gags, but she is a little off-key and reigns over the school as the ice queen in many ways. Lately because of Velvet's southern accent she seems to be trying hard to learn the language."
Unfortunately while planned and have released character designs Lyra and Tiana were never released into the game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Assuming Lyra, since she was in the previous game and Tiana because with the introduction of Felt (who is one of the main characters) and Cotton being explosion types, Tiana may have played a bigger role in this game. She is also one of two special characters in the first game to actually get a character redesign.
Ahh, but I really love these character redesigns. Even Celia's design seemed to have grown on me after all these years. (I absolutely used to despise it)

light of a clear blue morning: forest songs for frogstar’s big decisions
may the light of starclan guide you
1. Walden Pond by Atta Boy
And I hope you treat your heart Real nice and real smart. May your life be a Walden Pond swim. Can't be worthless seein' stars, Buying rocky-road for me and him.
Stay in that water and Keep where you're feeling fine but I'm just the daughter of a man who lives on oak and wine and I Swim like my father And remember hard days drivin' miles across county lines.
I thought this was a good place to start! Obv “Walden Pond” has the forest vibes and Frogstar’s style is very introspective. She’s very concerned about doing the right thing and has a lot of #deep thoughts about what that is. I also thought the father motif in this was good bc she is trying to live up to her father’s leadership.
2. Copperline by James Taylor
It doesn't come as a surprise to me It doesn't touch my memory Man, I'm lifting up and rising free Down on Copperline
I think this song is about camping? Which feels right for Forestclan. It’s a song about nostalgia and how the places of your childhood sometimes disappear. And with the two-legs moving in deeper, I think this song reminds me of Frogstar thinking about the past and how she can preserve it for the future.
3. Nina Cried Power by Hozier
It's not the wakin', it's the risin' It is the groundin' of a foot uncompromisin' It's not forgoin' of the lie, It's not the openin' of eyes It's not the wakin', it's the risin'
This song is about something v different but 1. I think all Hozier songs have #forest vibes and 2. this song has a sort of “uprising” vibe to it that can kind of represent Frogstar deciding to take a strong stand. Which is something she struggles with, and wants to do in a way as fair and intentional as possible. And I think that’s what this song is about! Fighting for what you believe in, out of a place of deep conviction!
4. Blood, Muscle, Skin and Bone by Brandi Carlile
There's a place I call my home Where the sun falls down on me The light fills in the shadows there And peace of mind is free But far below that place A tear forms in my eye The shadows have no foe there And darkness multiplies I know that I can count on you Because you've never lead me astray You bring the truth back to me now You always light my way
This one’s for Rookheart and Batheart, Frogstar’s most trusted advisors. Something important about Frogstar’s leadership style is that she is verrry influenced by the people around her. She’s new to this, and she needs to lean on the people she trusts. And I think this song also has a fighty vibe, and we’re in the fighty part of the playlist!
5. Now I’m In It by HAIM
Looking in the mirror again and again Wishing the reflection would tell me something I, I can't get a hold of myself I can't get outta this situation Walking in a straight line thinking about last time This time I said I would do this right Said I would never break this promise And now I'm back to counting on us
We cannot be friends Cannot pretend That it makes sense
This is a song about going through a hard time and standing up for yourself imo! It goes in the fighting part of the playlist because I think it can speak to Frogstar’s inner struggles and her desire to stand up for her clan in a way that honors her values. It’s a hard line to walk, and it causes a lot of internal struggle for her!
6. South by Hippo Campus
Streetlights talk the same way my mother told me I walk the same way my father told me Back straight and chest out, just like a soldier Back straight and chest out, just like a soldier Wise men talk the same way my mother told me I walk the same way my father told me Back straight and chest out, just like a soldier Back straight and chest out, just like a soldier
More parent motifs! Frogstar learned everything she knows about leadership from watching her father do it, and then shadowing the previous leader. She wants to be strong and wise, and I think the repetitive sound of this song has a militaristic/marching quality.
7. Garden Song by Phoebe Bridgers
I don't know how, but I'm taller It must be something in the water Everything's growing in our garden You don't have to know that it's haunted
I feel like this song means a lot of different things but for these purposes, I’m choosing to use it as Frogstar’s reflections on the choices she’s made as leader and how she’s grown over time. She feels good about the things she’s done because they reflect her values and protect her clan, but there’s always going to be a “haunted” quality because sometimes she’s had to make difficult choices that hurt people.
8. Orpheus by Sara Bareilles
Don't stop Trying to find me here amidst the chaos Though I know it's blinding There's a way out Say out loud We will not give up on love now
This is suuuch a Tiana song. I think I posted it for Knights stuff because it’s all about getting through hard times with the power of your relationships with the people you care about the most. And I think in the darkest times for Forestclan, their strength will be their care for one another and their ability still to trust even when things seem bleak!
9. Green Mountain State by Trevor Hall
I call on the letters in leaves I call on the ones we don't see My soul is born on the wheel, yeah No end, nowhere to begin There's a way, there's a way There's a way, there's a way There's a way There's a way, there's a way There's a way, there's a way There's a way
For me this song is about Frogstar’s faith! She is very connected to Starclan and turns to them for guidance when she doesn’t know what to do. And this song is all about finding peace and transcendence in nature, and I can imagine Frogstar looking out at the forest with this song playing as she tries to imagine what Starclan would tell her to do.
10. The Light of a Clear Blue Morning (The Wailin’ Jennys Cover)
It's been a long dark night And I've been waiting for the morning It's been a long hard fight But I can see a brand new day dawning And I've been looking for the sunshine 'Cause I ain't seen it in so long Everything's gonna work out just fine Everything's gonna be alright That's been all wrong
This song is about hope! Frogstar has hope that everything will work out, and I think this song just evokes like through a field on a bright sunny morning and feeling hope. I like to give playlists a happy ending so here is Frogstar’s happy ending... will it play out like this? Who knows! But this is what she is fighting for.

Reasons Why 2012!Raph is a Disney Princess
1.) He has a secret talent (he’s artistic)
While not every Disney Princess has some remarkable hidden or presenting talent, a good number of them do such as:
Snow white and dancing, Cinderella and sewing, Ariel and singing, Tiana and cooking, Rapunzel and painting &, Merida and archery
Raph has what Rapunzel has: A gift in art, specifically with painting. It may not appear often in the series but Raph’s love of art doesn’t just end with that painting scene with the van. It influences everything else in his life, namely Mona Lisa and Chompy Picasso.
Tumblr media
2.) He is the Son of a Clan Leader (i.e a Chief)
There are quite a few Disney Princesses that didn’t have the traditional ‘Princess’ title. These were Pocahontas, Merida, Moana, and the new addition to the Disney Princess Lineup, Raya.
They all had the title of Chief's Daughter. Chiefs and Clan Leaders are very similar titles as they both mean the same thing.
Well, Hamato Yoshi (Master Splinter) is considered the leader of the Hamato Clan. Thus making Raph the son of one.
Tumblr media
3.) He Has Daddy Issues
Ariel
Belle
Jasmine
Moana
What do these royal women have in common?
Daddy issues baby!
Who else suffers from this?
Raphael.
While he loves his father, and his father loves him, you can’t deny the obvious signs that the two don’t get well most of the time. Raph hates being told what to do and is often disobeying his father’s rules and gets scolded for behavior Splinter deems inappropriate.
Tumblr media
4.) He Doesn't have a Mom (Tang-Shen)
It’s no secret that most, if not all, the Disney Princesses don’t have a mom. What do you know? Raph doesn’t have one either!
He even joins the Orphan Club with Snow White, Cinderella, Elsa and Anna when Splinter passes away. And Tiana in the Dead Fathers Club.
Tumblr media
5.) He and His Love Interest Fall in Love too Quickly
Because of the runtime in most of Disney’s movies, it’s a little understandable why most of the Princesses fall for their Prince so early or quickly in the story.
In the case of Raph and Mona, while they love their relationship, the two fall for each other rather too quickly for a TV series that could have had them develop their relationship over the whole season. relationship, the two fall for each other rather too quickly for a TV series that could have had them develop their relationship over the whole season.
Just like many, many, many…….many Princesses in Disney, Raph’s love for his lizard girlfriend falls right under the category of ‘Love at First Sight’.
Tumblr media
6.) He Has a Self-Discovery Story
Just like his brothers, Raph was sent on a journey to reach his full potential in the episode Vision Quest. Raph’s whole story throughout the whole series is based on learning to regulate his emotions.
Princess stories usually have a moral to their journey and their story. Such as Belle’s and the importance of not judging a book by its cover, Aurora’s and the message of love conquers all, and Snow White message of don’t let jealousy consume you in her story.
Much like them, Raph has a lesson to learn; Don’t let anger and bad emotion control your life.
Tumblr media
7.) He Goes Through Trauma (a lot)
This probably doesn’t matter much since his brothers’ and friends also go through a lot of trauma throughout the series, but it was just something I wanted to add.
But Raph also has a couple of traumatic events similar to a few princesses.
While the situations were different, Raph literally died and came back to life in the Farmhouse Arc. Much like Snow White and waking up with her true love's kiss.
And just like Mulan, the dude seriously fought in a war to protect his family and clan.
Tumblr media
8.) He’s Gentle, Protective, and Affectionate (when not angered)
All the Disney Princesses have similar personality traits when it comes to the good parts of their character. Such as kindness, loyalty, and perseverance.
Raph does in fact hold those qualities as well as being gentle to his brothers’ feelings when they’re at their lowest, protecting his brothers when they are in danger, and giving his family every once of affectionate hugs when he believes they need it.
Tumblr media
9.) He Can Sing (Sean Astin)
I don’t know how many of you know this, but Sean Astin has a pretty good singing voice and it’s as natural as his speaking voice.
10.) He Speaks to Animals and Has an Animal Sidekick
Anybody who knows Disney knows that pretty much all of them have an animal for a sidekick. And some are able to communicate with other animals.
Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora are prime examples of animal whisperers.
Raph communicates with the pigeons in New York, and even helps animals when they’re injured (Half-Shell Heroes).
Ariel, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Moana for instance all have an animal for a sidekick. Whether it’s Flounder from The Little Mermaid, or Pascal from Tangled.
If you’ve seen Moana (and mostly like you have), then you should remember that Maui (shapeshifter, demigod of the wind and sea, hero to all), clearly states that if you wear a dress and have an animal sidekick, you're a princess. While Raph doesn’t wear dresses, he does possess an animal sidekick for most of his life and most of the series: Slash/Spike (seasons 1-2), and then Chompy (seasons 4-5).

Top 5 Disney side characters ☀️
1) Genie (Aladdin) [The gold standard of Disney side characters, as far as I’m concerned. You can’t call this guy a “sidekick” -- he’s got his own story and his own motivation and a well-developed personality that are all not completely dependent on supporting the protagonist in their journey. Plus he’s got a great design and voice actor and earns a lot of sympathy from the audience.]
2) Grumpy (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) [He’s the real hero of the movie. Watch the film again -- when s*** hits the fan, Grumpy’s the one who takes charge, not self-proclaimed leader Doc, and he is the dwarf we get the most focus on both before and after Snow eats the apple.]
3) Merryweather (Sleeping Beauty) [The Three Good Fairies are the real protagonists of their movie, rather than Aurora/Briar Rose -- they’re the characters we follow: they’re the ones with an established motivation and goal we can get behind, and they’re the ones who are most active in shaping the story outside of Maleficent. And Merryweather is easily my favorite of the three, partly for her sassiness and partly for how deeply invested she becomes in Aurora’s upbringing (getting upset when the dress/cake are a mess, siding with Aurora about not marrying Phillip, being the one who cries out to Aurora to “not touch anything,” and so on).]
4) Ray (The Princess and the Frog) [I didn’t think I’d like Ray when I saw the trailers, but MAN, was I proven wrong. This little firefly is just so sweet!! His storyline with Evangeline is just so pure.]
5) Charlotte “Lottie” La Bouff (The Princess and the Frog) [This girl cracks me the hell up and I absolutely ADORE her friendship with Tiana. I was so thrilled that the movie never tried to make her a love rival for Tiana, even though they’re both romantically interested in Naveen -- Lottie giving up her dream of marrying a prince to support her BFF was just so wonderful!! 💗]

A Frozen 2 review no one asked for! (POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD)
Okay, hear me out. I’m probably in the minority when I say this, but...
I think it’s better than the first one.
I liked the original Frozen just fine. I liked how it depicted anxiety and how it subverted a lot of Disney tropes, but I probably wouldn’t put it in my top ten.
(Which, in case you’re interested, is:)
10. Tarzan
9. Aladdin
8. Beauty and the Beast
7. Frozen 2 (this one!)
6. Lilo & Stitch
5. Wreck-it Ralph
4. Moana
3. The Lion King
2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
1. Zootopia
(And that’s not even including the Pixar ones.)
But it seems that the general consensus of Frozen 2 is the same as a lot of sequels (especially Disney sequels): that it’s not as good as the first one. Or, dare I say it, that it’s just the first one all over again. But here’s my argument against that. I think being similar to the first one actually works in its favor.
What do I mean by that? Well, after the prologue, the movie opens with a song called “Some Things Never Change,” in which all the characters sing about how happy they are in their current life. Although Olaf worries that change might be inevitable (I love how woke he’s become, btw), no one is really seeking anything new. Now that sounds like the setup for a lot of recent Disney movies, I know. But it's an idea that’s really explored throughout the entirety of the movie.
Every character reacts to change differently. Elsa is nervous, but tries to embrace it anyway; Olaf dismisses it as something he will understand when he’s older; Kristoff feels like he and his friends are drifting apart; and Anna struggles to accept it overall. And we see how each of them goes through it. Even the inclusion of darker themes allows the audience to react similarly to the characters onscreen. Kids probably won’t always understand what’s going on; but they’ll have a good time anyway. And just like Olaf, they’ll understand it when they’re older. That does seem to be one of the major criticisms I’ve seen for Frozen 2, that it’s too dark and too complicated for kids. But Disney’s never been afraid to tackle heavy subjects before, because they know that challenging the audience helps them grow. And hey, at least it’s not Crimes of Grindelwald, right?
I think the reason they made Frozen 2 similar to Frozen 1 was the same reason they used similar themes in Frozen 1 that we were already familiar with - princesses, magical kingdoms, curses, goofy sidekicks. And that’s to deconstruct and subvert them. In fact, I might even go so far as to say that this was an attempt to remind Disney to always try new things, which they have had trouble with recently. Just look at all those live-action remakes that no one asked for. The exact same thing all over again disguised as something new, but without all the stuff that made the originals so good in the first place.
Frozen 2 also continues the tradition of having interesting female protagonists. Well, interesting ANIMATED female protagonists, anyway. It’s not like the Aladdin remake, where Jasmine has a whole new song about girl power, but then she becomes the damsel in distress anyway and does nothing to fight back. It’s not like Captain Marvel, who makes a big deal about being a female superhero even though the Avengers already have several much more interesting female members. It’s not like the new Star Wars movies, in which they’re so focused with making Rey a strong female role model that they forget to give her a personality. And it’s not going to be like the Mulan remake, which I’m just going to assume is going to be another soapbox feminist’s wet dream. Oh, wait, I forgot this is Tumblr, and they love that shit.
But really. Starting with Tiana, Disney’s animated leading ladies have become such well-written characters. From Rapunzel to Vanellope to Judy Hopps to Moana to Elastigirl, they are fully fleshed-out characters first and agenda pushers second. Anna and Elsa are no exception. Elsa battles magical spirits and tames a water horse, and Anna has a crisis of ethics that feels really genuine. All without saying something dumb like “Look how capable I, a female, am in this situation, in comparison to my less competent male companions.”
Oh, by the way, for those of you who wanted Elsa to be revealed as a lesbian, I think we have a few more hints that she may be. She does not end up with a love interest, but I noticed she does seem to get along really well with Honeymaren. So maybe? Definitely better than the live-action Beauty and the Beast, am I right?
Oh, and the songs are great. We get not one, but TWO big numbers from Idina Menzel. Olaf and Kristoff both get new songs that are pointless, but still really funny. Anna has a new song that is one of the emotional highlights. The lyrics are just as clever, and they help further each character’s story arc. Even the lame pop versions of the songs over the end credits, which I usually DESPISE; hearing Imagine Dragons’ cover of “Into the Unknown” was actually pretty decent.
So, those darker themes. The reveal that one of Anna and Elsa’s ancestors was a genocidal tyrant who built the dam as a way to restrict the Northuldra tribe’s resources, and then declared war on them. Pretty ballsy, I have to say. And pretty creative that the villain of this movie is a character who is already dead before the movie even begins. Kind of like Coco, but they don’t even interact with him as a spirit or anything. What I like about this is that it kind of explains why the father in the first movie didn’t always do the right thing when it came to raising his kids. Locking up one of your daughters because she has supernatural abilities seems like a terrible move. But when you consider that Agnarr’s father was also distant from his son and had the goal of suppressing magic, you realize that it may have been a subconscious choice on his behalf. And hey, it’s also revealed that the reason Agnarr left on the ship that would eventually be his grave was to find answers about Elsa. So he probably felt remorse about it.
And now it’s time to compare this movie to today’s political climate. And before you start typing about how I’m wrong like Tumblr users are prone to do, maybe take a hint from the first movie and let it go. This is just my personal analysis.
The Northuldra tribe is clearly inspired by the Sami, the indigenous people of Norway, who have been persecuted for generations. But I don’t know much about Norwegian history, so let’s just compare it to America. Now let’s see...does America have a history of persecuting its indigenous population and disguising acts of war as offerings of peace? Hey, didn’t this movie come out just a week before Thanksgiving?
That’s right, I’m going there. Come to think of it, this whole movie radiates Thanksgiving vibes. It’s set in autumn, and it opens with everyone having a big feast with pumpkins and stuff.
King Runeard is a historical figure within Arendelle, and he is considered a hero. The dam that Runeard built is a monument that is ultimately destroyed by Anna in the film’s climax. And Anna initially refuses to do so because she believes the dam represents all that her kingdom stands for. I might be crazy, but this reminds me of how people are starting to take down statues of Confederate soldiers or how many cities have stopped recognizing Columbus Day as a national holiday, despite others saying that they are important parts of our heritage. One of the lines in “Some Things Never Change” is “Arendelle’s flag will always fly.” Sounds kind of like those conservative nuts who think the American flag is an infallible symbol and anyone who disrespects it (say, by taking a knee during the national anthem) is not a true patriot. Might be grasping at straws with that one.
And what Anna decides to do ultimately makes Arendelle a better place, even though she worries that it will be an unpopular decision. So we have a person in a position of political power who puts aside her own hubris for the good of her people. She asks for nothing in return, and knows that the right choice is not the easy one. She destroys a physical bridge, but builds a metaphorical one. Anna really is the type of leader we need. And if you think that it’s ethnocentric that a white person saves the day for a minority, remember that Anna and Elsa are actually half Northuldran on their mother’s side.
Yes, I believe Frozen 2 is up there with Zootopia as one of the great Disney flexes on right-wing extremists. But it’s subtle enough that we can enjoy the characters, the music, and the story first; and the message second. It reminds us to step outside our comfort zones and to always think about what it means to do the right thing.
If you didn’t like the first Frozen, you probably won’t enjoy this one either. I can understand what people mean when they say the movie throws a lot at you and doesn’t always feel focused on a coherent story. But regardless, I think it is an important movie.

Summary: Newsies AU: Detective Killian Rogers gets more than he bargained for when he agrees to help the charming Newsie Tilly Hatterson strike against their mutual enemy, Victoria Belfrey. What begins is a friendship between two lonely souls that reveals to them each a second chance for family in their lives.
Happy Holidays to my dear giftee, @allons-y-to-hogwarts-713! Getting to know you this month was a real treat. I enjoyed experimenting with AU’s again and putting together this fun little newspaper for you! Newsies is a spectacular musical that I know you love and it was a blast getting to work with the stage production in such a unique way. Creating a Knight Rook storyline based around the Newsies framework was so perfect and gave me a cool chance to tackle characters that I normally don’t use like Henry and Belfrey. It was such a fun project to put together because I’ve never tried something like this before!
...I guess you could say...I’m doing something no one’s even tried and yes, I’m terrified, but watch what happens! XD
One thing you oughta know about me giftee: I love puns and musical puns are the best kind of puns!
Also, serious shoutout to @hollyethecurious for her emergency beta work on this “pape” of mine! Seriously, Hollye-dew, I love you!!
Just in case you can’t read the articles, I’ll place them under the cut!
Article 1:
Newsies Strike Home: A Win for Our City’s Children
Mills, Henry - After two weeks, the Newsies' city-wide strike has finally come to an end. On Monday, December 10, the newspaper salespeople -- or Newsies, as they prefer to call themselves -- began protesting after it was announced that they would need to put an extra ten cents of their money towards the copies of The Belfrey Bombshell to be sold. Yesterday, property developer and editor-in-chief of The Belfrey Bombshell, Victoria Belfrey, met with the leader of the strike, seventeen-year-old Tilly Hatterson, as well as Detective Killian Rogers after the city wide Children's Crusade, wherein the three reached an agreement over the charges the Newsies were to incur regarding the price of the papers. While the Newsies will still pay the extra price to obtain the papers, Ms. Belfrey will now pay back the Newsies for the extra unsold copies. As Tilly claims, "No Newsie will break their back carryin' around papes they can't sell; but if they can take an extra few and have no risk, they might sell those, too." Tilly expects the circulation of The Belfrey Bombshell to increase as a result of the new policy.
As many of the Newsies are children, this issue has called into question the rights and treatment of children in the labor force. Thousands of children work in New York City daily, and this is the first unionized movement ever to be enacted on such a large scale.
When reached for comment, Ms. Belfrey had this to say: "It's a compromise we can all live with."
Article 2:
Strike Leader Gets Adopted
Mills, Henry - The good news for Newsies' strike leader, Tilly Hatterson, appears to keep on coming! Shortly after the resolution of the Newsies' strike in Victoria Belfrey's office, Detective Killian Rogers offered Tilly the chance to become a permanent part of his family, an offer Tilly responded to with a tearful hug and acceptance.
Detective Killian Rogers offered the following comment: "Tilly and I have worked closely together throughout the strike in order to keep all those involved, both directly and indirectly, safe and informed. Throughout that time, Tilly has brought a light back into my life that I haven't had in years. She's become like family, and I want to take the next step and make it official."
Tilly had this to say: "Well, he plays a good game of chess, so I'll keep him around." Killian responded to the comment by ruffling her hair.
The two of them were last spotted en route to get some marmalade sandwiches at the Tiana's Tastes Deli.
The adoption is expected to be finalized in the new year, but for now, just as we wish for all of our readers of The Mills' Mission, it seems like this pair are suited to have a Merry Christmas together!
Article 3:
Killian Rogers: The Detective Turned Father (Still Working on This)
Mills, Henry - How does a seasoned detective find himself becoming friends, and eventually a father, to a Newsie in the span of just two weeks?
As someone who was personally there, allow me to tell you the story.
Killian Rogers, born in 1866, is no stranger to loss. After his mother’s death, his father abandoned him and his brother, Liam. The two siblings clung to each other and despite hardships, grew into respectable citizens together. While Killian became a police officer, Liam got into contracting. However, tragedy struck while Liam was on the job. A weak support beam collapsed, and Liam was crushed to death.
Though stricken with grief, Killian could tell something was amiss. While examining his brother’s body, he saw chips of faulty wood. A bit more research led Killian to information implicating Victoria Belfrey with its purchase.
From there, Killian launched his own private investigation into Belfrey’s enterprises. While a struggle, one incident in particular costing the detective his left hand, Killian stayed determined to expose Victoria Belfrey’s injustices.
Enter Tilly Hatterson, a young orphan and Newsie with a taste for marmalade and a heart as big as Belfrey’s tallest skyscraper. When she and her fellow Newsies were overcharged for the papers that sustained their poverty-stricken lifestyles, Tilly started a movement to fight back on behalf of not only the Newsies, but all exploited working children.
Then, noticing their common enemy, yours truly decided to introduce these two individuals. And just like a bat cracking against a baseball, they hit it off.
As they worked together, sharing marmalade sandwiches and games of chess in between protests and talks of strategies, they began to trust each other with stories of their pasts and fears for the future. Additionally, Rogers gave Tilly refuge in his apartment when the stress of the strike and the harsh winter proved to be too much for her, supplied Tilly with a steady supply of her favorite sandwiches, and provided an element of safety for her movement. And in return, Tilly gave Rogers her light. She charmed him with her dedication to her cause and her observations on life. Tilly’s a quirky girl, but if you understand her, there’s no one who can put a brighter smile on your face.
So is it any wonder that Rogers found a second chance of a family with her? Is it any wonder that despite not being able to get justice for Belfrey’s sins just yet, he was still able to allow Tilly into his heart and make her his daughter?
While I can’t say I saw it coming, I think it’s fair to say that now that Rogers and Tilly have each other, this oftentimes lonely world that we live in just got a bit less so.

So here’s the basic outline of the PatF/Coco/KH crossover I’ll prolly never write but need to get of my head. (All of this was basically dumped in @upperstories‘ inbox because I had an emotion.)
(Also note: I view being Norted as less outright possession and more “This person is influencing my thoughts and emotions and sometimes guiding my actions,” mainly since the Org members we’ve seen still have their personalities despite being Norted, but I could totes be wrong about that.)
Norted Demyx waking up all golden-eyed and ready to be evil...and like he totally wants to get all those hearts for Kingdom Hearts but that’s effoooooort
So the obvious answer is to head to Traverse Town because it’s easy pickings. You have to be strong-hearted to make it off a Heartless-ridden world, but often new arrivals are so disoriented and traumatized that they’re not that hard to defeat.
So obviously he’s like “Score” when he finds two guys distraught over losing their wives when their worlds got taken over, and he seizes his moment takes the opportunity to automatically launch into an attack to take their hearts
Except...he’s still Demyx. And he’s still really really bad at fighting. So he doesn’t hurt them so much as he gives them a water show.
He’s prepared to have the crap kicked out of him in retaliation, but these two applaud him and agree that they’ve never seen anything so amazing where they’re from, and it’s so nice to find another musician out here.
Demyx is not prepared for validation, and before he knows what’s happening the two introduce themselves as Naveen and Hector and proceed to mangle his name spectacularly before asking if he knows how they would go about finding their families. Hector in particular is stressed because he also has a little girl somewhere out in the world.
(”See, this is my little Coco.” “That...looks like the skeleton of an old woman.” “This is MI PEQUENA.” “Okay, fine!”)
Demyx winds up convincing himself that it’s actually better if he travels with them to find their families, because they’ll get stronger the more they travel and that’ll make their hearts even better for Kingdom Hearts. It’s fool-proof. Excellent plan, 10/10.
He winds up being their multi-world tour guide--he can use portals to get around, so it saves them a ton of time. And it’s...kinda fun? Hector is utterly fascinated with his sitar, and Naveen managed to keep a ukulele on him even when he wound up in Traverse Town, so there’s definitely a few breaks for a jam session when one/two/all of them start getting stressed with the weight of finding their family/having to take his friend’s hearts.
Obviously they run into Facilier and Ernesto along the way. Both have whole-heartedly thrown in their lot with the Heartless--Facilier wanting to harness their power, Ernesto desperate for their protection--and of course they want the two musico’s hearts. Demyx really only protects them because 1) he called dibs on their hearts, and 2) it’s TOTALLY part of the plan because the BEST way to get their hearts would be to get them to the World that Never Was because OH MAN their hearts will be SO STRONG by then and it’d just be a waste to take them just yet.
While Facilier has a bit of a vendetta against Naveen, he’d much prefer to use him as bait to get Tiana--who he REALLY has a beef with. It doesn’t work; he doesn’t realize he can’t magically summon Tiana to him.
Ernesto, meanwhile, really wants to take Hector’s heart. Someone with that much love and strong enough to withstand years of being Forgotten clearly has one of the strongest hearts in the world--now, if he could get Miguel, too, he’d be set for life (metaphorically speaking) as the leader of the Heartless.
For the first half of the journey, things are going okay. Demyx has some fun with Hector and Naveen and is actually enjoying spending time with them, but doesn’t lose sight of his goal. It’s around Ernesto’s defeat that he starts losing his nerve, because...these are his friends. And that’s when a little voice in his head starts up. “You can’t have friends. You don’t have a heart. You can’t love, you can’t cherish, you can’t even feel. But take their hearts and you’ll get yours back soon enough. Then you’ll be able to have real friends.”
He fights it. Dear god, does he fight it. Naveen and Hector even notice that Demito is starting to get...frantic. Naveen--who’s been able to get to Demyx’s level the whole time--tries his best to get him to tell them what’s wrong, and just gets thrown back by a wave of water.
As it turns out, tears and heartbreak make for great music and stronger water attacks. Demyx tries his best to defeat Hector and Naveen; Hector and Naveen try their best to talk Demyx down.
somewhere in here is a REALLY GREAT AESTHETIC of Demyx’s eyes flickering from gold to turquoise as he fights Xehanort’s influence.
The fight is half against Hector and Naveen and half against Xehanort himself--Demyx wants him out of his head but is terrified that Xehanort letting him go means he’ll slip back into Darkness, and he doesn’t want to go back to nothingness. But Hector and Naveen have to find their families, and he’s not going to let anyone, not even Xehanort, get in their way. So with a loud cry and a burst of energy, he demands that the voices just SHUT UP, and he immediately collapses and waits to disappear.
But...it doesn’t happen. And he feels weaker, but not...weak. So he can keep going. This does, however, require clueing his friends in on the fact that he 1) doesn’t have a heart, 2) is part of an organization that will TOTALLY kill them if they get the chance, and 3) desperately wants to keep them safe.
Neither Hector nor Naveen really get the whole “not having a heart” thing, especially since Demyx is a musician like them and clearly feels quite a lot if that fight was anything to go by. That said, they’re ready to help him find a heart just like he’s helped them along the way.

Before & After: Street Rats
So, @trueloveismagic and I have discussed Glass Believer adopting, which I feel they would at some point. This is how their family of 5, grew to 6 in a very short period of time. Takes place when Lucy is 15 and the twins are 3 1/2.
Also on AO3
Ella blew a loose strand of hair out of her eye and looked around the kitchen. A lull at last. She loved her restaurant and wouldn’t change a thing about it, but sometimes it could be just a tad overwhelming.
Once they moved to Storybrooke, Tiana had been torn between her past life and her cursed one. She had loved being queen, but she had also loved running the food truck. With her wealth in her hands once again, she could afford to open her own restaurant, but then who would take over the kingdom? After lots of talks with Ella and Naveen, she decided that she could have both. She would rule over her kingdom while also owning The Bayou, along with it’s food truck counterpart. However, the business would be co-owned by Ella and Alice, so Tiana could trust that her business was well taken care of.
Alice had loved working on the food truck, so she had taken over there with the help of Robin. Ella had gotten the restaurant and she employed an amazing staff to help her. Still, she found herself doing most of the cooking. Many of the recipes were either hers or Tiana’s, or passed down to them from family members over the years. She found it hard to trust anyone else.
However, all the meals were out and they weren’t expecting more people for a while, so Ella made her way out into the dining room. It was like stepping into New Orleans, with lights strung everywhere and a beautiful mural that Alice had painted of the bayou.
She went around the restaurant, checking on everyone and getting pulled into a conversation with David and Snow. Just as she was walking away from them, however, she caught something out of the corner of her eye at the takeout counter. A young boy, who only looked to be a bit younger than Lucy, was going through the different containers and removing food. He stuffed them into his sweatshirt pockets and kept looking around to see if anyone was watching.
Ella walked up behind him and cleared her throat, causing him to drop the piece of cornbread that was in his hand. “Don’t you think you’d enjoy it more if you sat down?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Really?” She held up one of the plastic containers. “Because this doesn’t look like all of our fried green tomato special.”
The boy rolled his eyes. “I didn’t steal anything.”
“Right. Empty your pockets.”
“You’re not the police.”
“No, but my mother-in-law is, so I suggest you do it before I call her.” She wouldn’t dream of calling Emma, but she wanted to call this kid on his bluff.
“I didn’t do anything. Geez, just leave me alone.”
He headed towards the exit and Ella followed after him.
“What’s your name, kid? I’m going to call your parents.”
The boy stopped by the door and then turned around for a moment. “Flynn,” he said and for a moment, the sarcasm and wit left his eyes. “And I don’t got any parents, lady.”
 With that, he was gone.
Henry did some digging after Ella texted him about the thief. His first stop was the group home that rested between the lines of Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest. Unfortunately, even with all the realms united, not every child had a home. Regina arranged for there to be countless meeting days between prospective parents and children, but it always seemed that the older ones got left behind.
Sure enough, Flynn Oliver was one of the children there. At 12-years-old, he had spent most of his life in care. His parents were villagers from Arendelle who took off when he was young. He had always been rebellious, but after the reuniting of the realms, he had even more reason to take off and cause trouble. The leader offered to look for him, but Henry said he’d find him.
He had heard stories from his parents and grandma, all of whom had spent some time as street kids. They had always told him that sometimes you just looked for a safe place to hide, somewhere that had shelter and warmth.
Alice’s old boxcar came to mind. When Regina had united the realms, somehow Hyperion Heights was apart of that and joined them. It was easy for everyone to grab their old things and bring them into their new life. Alice had no use for the boxcar, obviously, so it had been abandoned for quite some time.
Henry made his way over there, zipping up his jacket along the way. He pushed open the door and found the boy that Ella had described on the other side. Henry could tell that Flynn tried to look tough, but he saw straight past that. He was 12-years-old, only a few years younger than Lucy. Henry cringed at the thought of his daughter being in this position. She almost would’ve been, had Gothel won.
 “Go away, Henry,” Flynn said.
Henry arched an eyebrow. “You know me?”
“Everyone knows you. Son of the Good Queen and the Savior, husband of Cinderella.”
“She actually prefers, Ella, ya know?”
Flynn rolled his eyes. “I only steal when I have to.”
“Oh, I get that.” Henry sat down on the old air mattress that was losing its air.
“How would you even begin to understand my life? You grew up as the queen’s kid.”
“Maybe so, but my other mom didn’t always have the best life and neither did my dad or grandma. They were street kids for a while. Had to steal to survive, sleep where they could.” Henry tilted his head. “Though, you have a place to go.”
“That group home?” Flynn snorted and rolled his eyes again. “I’m not going back there. It’s gotten a bit better since we merged with Storybrooke, but not by much. No one gives a shit about you there.”
Henry nodded. “So…here’s better?”
“I’m on my own. Got no one to tell me how to live my life or when to go to bed.”
“Has to be pretty cold out,” Henry countered. “Almost winter in Maine and all you’ve got is a sweatshirt and no heat in this boxcar.”
Flynn frowned and folded his arms over his chest. “Not all of us can have the life you do.”
“Maybe you could. Go back to the group home and one day, you’ll have a family of your own.”
“Right. I seem to remember the stories of Emma Swan being an orphan her entire life.”
“Until she came here.”
“Well, I’m not interested in waiting another 16 years.”
Henry looked at the boy and could see the pain in his eyes. He was stealing to survive and would rather live in a dingey boxcar, then a group home with heat. As much as his moms did their best to make sure those places were well run, he knew there was only so much they could do. He thought of his own children and all they had. He and Ella worked hard to give them the world, so they never knew how Emma, Neal and Snow once had. They also made sure to show them the love that Regina never received.
Flynn didn’t have any of that, but maybe he could.
Ella set the table with the help of Lucy that night. The twins were nearby, playing with trains and making dramatic noises as they crashed into each other. She couldn’t help but laugh and shake her head. They were creative, just like their father.
The door opened and Henry soon appeared in the dining room…with Flynn next to him, a backpack slung over his shoulder. Lucy tilted her head.
 “Who’s that?”
“This is Flynn,” Henry explained. “He’s going to be staying with us for a while.”
He looked over at his wife with pleading eyes and she knew she should be upset with him, bringing home a kid like a stray puppy and at the same time…she knew that she couldn’t. This was her husband, this was the man she fell in love with. He looked out for the underdog, always. So, she simply smiled and turned to her eldest daughter.
“Luce, set another place for our friend here.” She looked back over at Flynn. “I think I know you appreciate my cooking.”
Flynn slowly smirked. “Yeah…it’s alright.”

Top 10 (or 5) most badass Disney Princes in your opinion?
I’m gonna do Top 5 so that I can explain my choices. Also gonna go from 5-1 if that’s okay.Alright!
#5. Anna from Frozen: Most would probably say Elsa, but I can’t agree. Look back at what Anna had to do. She finds out in one day that her sister had these powerful ice powers and watches her run away. She found this out after both having her memory of it wiped years earlier, and having tried for YEARS to connect to her sister and getting pushed away for, as far as she knew, no reason. So what did she do? She decided to face an everlasting snow storm to find her and bring her home. She could have easily froze to death or been killed due to the conditions, but she still did it. And while she needed Kristoff’s help, she mostly held her own. She beat up a wolf with a lute for pete’s sake! And in the end not only did she save Elsa, sacrificing her own chance at being saved to do so, but she got the last laugh on Hans by punching his lights out. Anna had no magic like Elsa or skill in the mountains like Kristoff. She only had her determination, and in the end it was through that and her endless love that Arendelle was arguably saved. She deserves a LOOOT more love than she gets.
#4. Ariel from The Little Mermaid: How could I not mention the first badass princess? SO many people  harp about her being selfish or her giving up for a voice for a man. Which A, the latter is stupid. And B, yeah okay she was selfish... so what? Ariel was the first proactive princess. She chased after her dreams. She fought a freakin’ shark just to get a few human trinkets, and she won!  When she realized that Eric was in danger, despite not being able to swim in her human form, she braved it anyways to try and put a stop to it. When Ursula tried to blast Eric into oblivion, Ariel grabbed her and re-directed the shot at the eels. Heck, while it failed, she tried to physically attack Ursula when she turned Triton into... whatever those weird worm things are. And in the sequel, she grabbed a sword and was ready to strike Morgana when she attacked during Melody’s birth. Ariel set the bar for modern Disney Princesses, and no one should ever forget that... also quit saying that she gave up her voice just for Eric and actually watch the dang movie haters!
#3. Rapunzel from Tangled: In the original movie, she’s a naive girl who wants to get out of her tower. When she does, she holds herself very well. She i a master at a frying pan, uses her hair in many creative ways, saves Eugene just as much as he does her, and int he end stood up to Mother Gothel. Even when bound and gagged, she refused to be controlled by her anymore when just the thought of disobeying her before drove her into a crisis. Then there’s Rapunzel int he animated series... OH MY GOD. She becomes a more adapt fighter, more independent, and refuses to let ANYONE control her life or keep her locked away anymore. Watch the Season One finale because it is amazing in so many ways. And the Season 2 premiere where we learn what kidnapping Eugene means for the poor saps. Rapunzel is a great modern Disney Princess and I adore her.
#2. Moana: Do I even need to describe why Moana is on her? Everything that this girl does is amazing. She teaches herself to sail, boldly goes against demonic forces like the Karamora and Tamatoa, stands up to a demigod and demands that she go with him to save her island, and what happens after Maui finally leaves? After help form her grandma, she decides ‘screw it, I’ll fulfill the prophecy myself’. And heck, she earned Maui’s respect that eh not only further taught hr to sail, but he ended up coming back to help her and let her be the hero. All as we saw that Moana, despite having trouble choosing between her dreams and her duties as future chief, is very much competent as a future leader, being quick thinking and always caring for her people. And she finds a way to have the best of both worlds, using her dreams to help her people find their paths once again. She is VERY close to being Number One, but ultimately there is one greater.
Honorable Mentions: Tiana (consider her Number 6), Merida
#1: Mulan: Anyone whose followed me probably isn’t shocked by this. But my bias aside, lets look at her. She’s a young girl who decides to go to war in her father’s place. She knows that war, or even just being discovered that she’s a girl, means death. She doesn't care, as long as her father is saved. She goes through relentless training, all while being mocked and pranked by other soldiers and Shang clearly having a low opinion of her, before he more or less throws her out. But she decides ‘screw that’ and keeps trying. Eventually, she inspires the others to be better and they al become a capable army unit. Then she uses a rocket on a freakin mountain to wipe out 99% of the Hun army and then saves Shang despite the massive avalance. Then after she’s discovered and decides to quit? She hears the Huns, and decides that she can’t. No deep soul searching or anything. She knows that the Emperor and citizens are ind anger, and she goes to help. When no one listens, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She makes the plan to rescue the Emperor. She reveals herself to Shan-Yu to save Shang. She come sup with the plan to blow him up via fireworks. She faces SHan-Yu, a huge, absolutely cold guy who survived an avalanche, with only a paper fan and SHE WINS. Then she gets praise from the Emperor and pretty much all of China bows before her. I don’t think even of the male heroes have ever gotten that kind of praise from an entire country. Mulan went from a clumsy girl who couldn’t seem to do anything right and felt like a dishonor to her family, to a national hero who proved that no matter who you are, you can become something great.

Top Ten Characters
Rules: Name your top ten favorite characters from different fandoms. Then tag ten people.
Inspired but thankfully NOT tagged by by @deathtoallmodifiers. Would love to see this done by @riseofthenerds, @thenightwilllastforever, and @thesearethingsthatilike, but I know tags suck so you don’t have to. My drunk ass just wants to see it.
Listed in the order I thought of them, so sort of preferential order? Also including descriptions because I have been drinking and I want to.
1. Laura Roslin (Battlestar Galactica)
Smart, calculating, sensitive but generally logical woman in charge. Will kick your ass any day, cancer or not. Final scene in the finale makes me weep every time. I would kill to be Laura Roslin when I grow up.
2. Season Three Pam Beesly (The Office)
Pam is fine all the time but if you watch season three specifically, she is gradually learning to love herself and be in charge of her own life. She changes a tire! She buys new clothes! She sends a beer back when it isn’t what she ordered. They’re all small decisions, little moments that aren’t necessarily highlighted, but they demonstrate a journey I am familiar with. At the end she starts dating Jim. It reminds me of how I felt in the year before I met my SO, when I finally felt comfortable and confident in who I am. They always say as soon as you’re comfortable alone you are ready to be with someone else.... I literally spent 2014 emulating season 3 pam.
3. Rayyan Hamoudi (Little Mosque on the Prairie)
Feminist. Muslim. Doctor. Devoutly religious, but logical. Smart as a whip and will debate you into a corner. Almost always gets her way, and is almost aways right.
4. Marshall Eriksen (How I Met Your Mother)
All around good-guy. Hopeless romantic and deeply and happily in love with his wife. Lawyer from Minnesota. Smart and lovable.
5. Data (Stark Trek TNG)
Android who wants to be human. SO LOGICAL. So many times when we watch TNG my boyfriend says “oh it’s you!” when Data speaks. Competent, smart, values friends.
6. Severus Snape (Harry Potter)
The most controversial on my list. It’s “FAVORITE” characters. He’s a good character, so sue me. He grew up in an unhappy home, where Lily was the bright spot in life. He emulated his family and house’s beliefs, which put Lily off. Eventually she died, at the hands of someone he once trusted. Motivated nearly entirely by devastation. One of the saddest characters I know of--up there with Fantine from Les Mis, but with more exposition. Not a good guy, but tried to be a good guy.
7. Tiana (Princess and the Frog)
Hard fucking worker. Only disney princess with a day job. I just resonate with a “work hard and achieve your dreams” message and Tiana emulates that so hard.
8. Ben Wyatt (Parks and Rec)
Delightful nerd. Loves his SO, spreadsheets, and calzones. Often the only logical person in that lovable group of enthusiastic nerds in Pawnee. My boyfriend hates him, presumably because he feels threatened. (Ben was my previous perfect human male.)
9. Alan Shore (Boston Legal)
Excellent litigator. Great quips, great closings, great empathy with clients. I want to be perfectly honest--while Elle Woods taught me I want to be a lawyer, Alan Shore taught me what kind of lawyer I want to be.
10. William Adama (Battlestar Galactica)
Great captain, good father, good under pressure. Fell in love with Roslin, but maintained control of his crew. Just a really good leader, okay? Probably the only one of my top ten that the boyfriend would agree with.

SVU 19x21 Guardian
Scrolled through social media before seeing the episode, like always, but I wasn’t spoiled at all. Few people were talking about the ep or anything that happened in it. A lot of chatter about SVU being renewed for s20, and I might do a post on that later. Anyway, here goes:
- The case was pretty interesting if depressing. It’s the kind of situation where there’s no good outcome, no matter what happens. I think they were a little late in trying to have us feel for Malik, maybe if we’d spent more time with him or learned more about him that could have worked but now all we had was Tiana saying how she loved him and that was just sad.
- Also, what happened to the 3 teenagers? That’s what started everything, did they just get scolded by their grandma?
- I read a comment that said this was the first case all season to have a black victim. I’m pretty sure I’ve blocked some of the season, but I think that might be true. That’s terrible. And the fact that the one case is all about how tough it is in the hood and that it’s Fin’s episode... Hmmm...
- But: next week the victim is an old woman. We rarely see that, even though I’m pretty sure they’re more likely to be victims of (sexual) abuse. And the ep after that, the season finale, has loads of Hispanic guest stars as far as I can tell. Could it be that they actually listened when fans complained about the lack of representation? Or is it all a coincidence?
- Fin was great in this. I’m ashamed to admit I was a bit surprised, Ice T’s acting isn’t always the best, but I’d definitely like to see more of this Fin. I liked the phone call to his son/grandson at the end even if it was a bit awkward.
- For the rest of the cast it was a nice ensemble ep. Rollins got relatively little to do, but then she had her ep last week. I really liked Liv in this one, being the leader, kept in the loop, etc, but letting her detectives work. Stone is still bland IMO. Carisi got quite a bit to do early on in the ep. I love when he’s partnered with Fin, they seem to amuse each other a lot. He disappeared completely halfway through the ep though.
- Carmen: I know some people are upset she’s working for Stone, but, really? She’s Barba’s BFF in fanon, but we have no idea about their actual relationship. She may have been the assistant to the person before Barba as well. She might not have liked him, she might not like Stone, or she might like Stone better. Or even if she *is* Barba’s BFF, it would have been foolish to just leave before she knew where Barba would wind up. He might not even need an assistant anymore.
And that’s about it for this ep, I guess?

My Disney Princess Ranking from Worst to Best.
This is my Disney Princess Ranking. My list will include the Disney Princess Lineup, Moana, Frozen, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Peter Pan and The Black Cauldron. I also own none of these gifs and credit goes to their owners. Disclamier: this my opinion on the princesses and these thoughts are basically useless because my opinion is not really that important, I just wanted a place to put out my thoughts.
17. Princess Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Tumblr media
To be fully honest, her ranking is because I haven’t seen this film in a long time. It’s not one that I personally like. The Experimental Era of Disney was, in my opinion, the weakest releases of films in the entire course of Disney Animation and certainly my least favorite era. She just never stood out to me. I need to watch Atlantis again to get a fresher opinion of her.
16. Mulan from Mulan
Tumblr media
For a lot of people, Mulan is a very high choice on their list for Princess Rankings. She breaks stereotypes, she’s independent. she’s empowering. Overall, a phenomenal role model for young girls. However, the biggest issue that I have with Mulan is that she is not a princess. She is a heroine. It’s not something I could simply overlook because there are other strong Disney heroines that are not recognized for the efforts that they put into their own movies. There is also Disney Princesses that don’t make the cut in the Disney Princess lineup because the lack of popularity of the movie and/or lack of popularity with the characters like Princess Kida for example. Even though Mulan is a strong female character, it is just not fair to the other heroines or forgotten princesses to allow her to be ranked better or, honestly, be in the princess line up at all.
15. Princess Tiger Lily from Peter Pan
Tumblr media
Princess Tiger Lily is a very much side character in Peter Pan. She literally doesn’t say anything in Peter Pan. However, I am including her on this list because in she is a princess so she deserves a place among the other princesses...even if her role is very mild in Peter Pan.
14. Snow White from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs
Tumblr media
Snow White is a beautifully animated film. Completely groundbreaking for its time. Snow White is here simply because of her stereotype. She is very much a victim of her time as a female lead and it’s more difficult for her standing up against the other princesses to be allowed any higher. I love Snow White though and her film will always be a timeless classic.
13. Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty.
Tumblr media
To start this out, Princess Aurora is one of my favorite princesses. She is beautiful. Her singing voice is far better than any other Disney Princess. She is kind and her ability to be embraced by the forest animals is lovely. She just lacks dialogue. We don’t know much about her personality. It’s okay though because her movie is, in my opinion, one of Walt Disney’s best work. The overall art of the film is breathtaking.
12. Princess Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron
Tumblr media
Okay, so this one is a super unpopular opinion here but I love Princess Eilonwy and The Black Cauldron. Out of all the forgotten princesses, she deserves so much better. She is the first princess in Disney History to rescue the male protagonist. She wasn’t just the love interest or a prize to be won. During the time The Black Cauldron was released she can be viewed as feminist because of how she stands up for herself and how she drove the plot line forward. Without her, Taran wouldn’t have escaped and the pig wouldn’t have been saved. The only reason why she is this low on my list is because of the movie, The Black Cauldron. This film was scattered and missing a lot of information, but that is what happens whenever a two hour movie gets cut down to a hour long movie. Disney needs to re-release this film unedited so the audience can get a view on if this film is actually a flop or not. Also to learn more about Princess Eilonwy and how she evolves or doesn’t evolve in the movie. Even though there are so many good qualities about her, there is just too much information missing to allow her any higher.
11. Pocahontas from Pocahontas
Tumblr media
To be honest, Pocahontas is not one of my favorite Disney Princesses or Disney Films. The overall film just didn’t affect me very much. However, she has tons of strong female qualities that quite a few of the Disney Princesses on this list don’t have. She also is very free spirited and lives life how she wants it. Her tattoo is also the best.
10. Merida from Brave
Tumblr media
I personally feel Merida is underappreciated as Disney Princess. She is such a strong female character and just wants to do what she loves and wants to dress how she wants to dress and wants to live life how she sees it. She is a great role model because she unconventional compared to the other Disney Princesses. Her actions and choices are based on how comfortable she is and that’s such a powerful message. The only princess that could compare to her qualities is Mulan. The difference is that Merida is actually a princess while Mulan is not. Which ultimately hindered Mulan’s spot on this list.
9. Ariel from The Little Mermaid
Tumblr media
Ariel is a great princess. She is talented, curious, and excited to learn about new things. She also has gorgeous hair. She reminds me of the typical teenager which makes her so relatable even though she is a mermaid. Her downfall comes from the fact she doesn’t know how to express to Prince Eric who she is. A giant flaw in The Little Mermaid is that Ariel knows how to write. She signed Ursula's scroll so the fact that she didn’t just write down who she was to Eric explaining the situation makes her come across as kind of ignorant.
8. Belle from Beauty and The Beast
Tumblr media
What makes Belle great is that she is very intelligent and caring towards her father.  She also brings out the kindest in the Beast which makes her very unique. The reason why Belle is number 8 on my list is because she is definitely over hyped. She is very average looking compared against the other princesses and she also comes off as kind of pretentious in the movie. The dancing scene with her and the beast is without a doubt one of my favorite Disney Animations though.
7. Anna from Frozen
Tumblr media
Anna is a very hopeful female lead. She’s optimistic, lively, and very loving-nature character. She is number 7 on my list because she is kind of passive. She only stands up for herself when she feels the situation is dire and her lack of self- confidence with herself from feeling abandoned by her sister for most of her life makes her overly desperate for love...which makes her a little gullible in certain situations. However, she is a strong character in the span of this list and does help bring across the new era of Disney well. Her self-journey is also so important to the plot line of Frozen.
6. Jasmine from Aladdin
Tumblr media
Jasmine is, without a doubt, the strongest female lead in the Disney Renaissance era. Her role is so strong that she comes off as more than just supporting character. She demands respect and that’s great. The only issue that she has is that she doesn’t know what goes on outside of her palace. This small detail hinders her full knowledge of how her kingdom is struggling and how she could help them as their future queen.
5. Tiana from The Princess and The Frog
Tumblr media
Tiana is probably one of the best Disney Princesses that Disney has came out with. What makes her great is that she is hardworking and knows that working hard is what is what makes us successful in life. She is very independent and is not really interested in love. She just wants to make her father proud. It’s fascinating because its the prince that falls in love with her first and it is because of who is she is on the inside. Hardworking, loyal, and compassionate. She is just really great.
4. Cinderella from Cinderella
Tumblr media
This placement will probably come as a surprise to lots because the oldest Disney Princesses are viewed as passive. However, she is one of the strongest princesses in the entire princess lineup. Cinderella comes from an abusive environment. One that she has to adjust to. She does the best that she can to be a kindhearted and gentle person despite everything she has been through. Which is something that takes real strength. She also was never really looking for love. She just wanted a night out to experience freedom from her abusive household. Which makes her really incredible for her time. Her ultimate goal was freedom....not love, which is an interesting plot line in a film that Walt Disney actually worked on.
3. Rapunzel from Tangled.
Tumblr media
Rapunzel is my favorite Disney Princess. She multi-talented, bubbly, and lighthearted. Just like Cinderella, her living environment is super abusive but it is abusive in a way that she doesn’t recognize it until the end of the film. That is an important detail because of how she was treated defines so much of her personality. In her new tv show, they expand on the affects of her abuse with anxiety driven nightmares that totally help us to see her character growth.  She doesn’t let the abuse hinder her from wanting to experience life though. She wants to travel freely and continues to let optimism guide her forward.
2. Moana from Moana
Tumblr media
Moana is a determine natural born leader who does everything she can to save her people. She is great for so many reasons that it is hard to list. She is a great role model for young girls. She strives to succeed even though she makes mistakes. She doesn’t have a love interest. Her movie is about her believing in herself and her self-journey. The only reason why she is in second is because I believe that my number one choice is the best choice out of all the Disney Princesses.
1. Elsa from Frozen
Tumblr media
I know a lot of people will hate this because they think Frozen is over marketed, over hyped, and over praised....but, to me, Frozen is one of the best Disney films of all time. I know people will say: Elsa is a queen and doesn’t really deserve that spot. Elsa is one of the most interesting characters Disney has ever released. What makes her number one in my eyes is how she overcomes adversity. In the beginning of the film, she is very much consumed by her anxiety and her fears to allow anyone to come close to her. As the film goes on, she learns that her fears only hinder her and she learns how to control her anxiety. She shows traits PTSD with the flashback of her accidentally hurting her sister. Which gives us a glimpse of her struggles on a mental level more than what Disney movies have done in the past. We also see her embrace her powers and who she is. Elsa is a groundbreaking character that changed the direction of Disney. A couple of movies before Frozen tried to succeed at what Frozen did, Modernizing Disney but Frozen is the one that succeeded at it. Without Elsa, Moana would be vastly different. Both the movie and the character. And I think its important for people to know Elsa role within the Disney franchise and how she has changed the game. She also didn’t have a love interest because the entire movie is about her self-journey and what she overcomes.

Ranking 15 Disney Princess Movies
Hey everyone! Long time, no talk. I have been thinking about what to do to continue with this pop culture blog, and I decided to go with some Disney content. So, recently, I have been watching most (by most, I mean about 15/17 available on Disney+ bc you know quarantine is boredom)
of the Disney Princess movies and I am going to rank them in order from worst (12th place) to best (1st place). Let’s do this, let me know how you would rank these in the comments!  Not included: Brave, Pocahontas, & Maleficient since I haven’t seen them recently, I’ll try to watch them & update the list
15th Place: Frozen 1
Tumblr media
This one is an unpopular opinion, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Frozen movie. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of sisters kicking booty as royalty without any men, but like it lacked a lot of emotion and heart for me, mostly because the songs are overplayed and the movie itself is super overrated in my opinion. The only cute thing about the movie was Olaf, but other than that meh. Oh and another unpopular opinion: I really dislike Elsa, but we can get into that later. Also, this movie isn’t nostalgic enough to me since it came out when I was 13 years old.
14th Place: Sleeping Beauty
Tumblr media
Ok, so most of the older Disney movies are going to go in these places, mostly because the princesses lack any kind of complexity in their character. Aurora is beautiful don’t get me wrong, but she is too much of a damsel in distress and has no unique personality traits. Also, it’s kinda weird that the Prince sees her as a baby and he’s a toddler or child idk. The best part about this movie was the fairy godmothers (especially when they are arguing about the dress color) and the Once Upon a Dream scene.
13th Place: Snow White & The Seven Dwarves
Tumblr media
Ok, this one also has the same problem as Sleeping Beauty, except (thankfully) there is no weird Prince meets princess when she’s a baby scene. However, yeah Snow White has little to no personality tbh but her singing makes it tho. The best thing about this movie are the dwarves 1000% which makes me rank it above Sleeping Beauty.
12th Place: Cinderella (Cartoon Version)
Tumblr media
Alright, Cinderella actually doesn’t have as bland of a personality as the other ones and the mice also made this movie so entertaining, but there are some plot holes (that thankfully are filled in the live-action, we’ll get to that later) that I cannot look past, so I cannot rank it higher. Cinderella does have more of a personality, but unfortunately the Prince has legit no personality at all. They made her a very kind & hardworking girl, but they didn’t really give him any background at all. Like, it didn’t make sense why she fell in love with him.
11th Place: The Little Mermaid
Tumblr media
This movie was super nostalgic for me as a kid (as was Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, & Cinderella), and the music is everything still to this day, but the plot is a bit meh, I mean a girl giving up her pretty voice for a guy... ya not my favorite storyline, but I hope they make it better in the live action that I heard they are going to make. However, Sebastian, Flounder, and all the music really makes me very happy & it makes the movie 100x more enjoyable.
10th Place: Frozen 2
Tumblr media
Now, I know I trashed the first Frozen movie, but I honestly love the sequel way more. I really love Anna and this movie gave her more screen time which I really wanted from the first one and it also gave her more complexity as a character and it made me really love her more than the 2nd one. There were also more funny, heartfelt, and emotional moments here and they gave Anna a strength that was amazing, letting Elsa kind of take a step back which I like (because I honestly think she is a bit selfish & only thinks about herself/her magic/problems and abandons her sister/kingdom). It was awesome to see Anna take charge and be a strong leader in this movie. I loved it! Oh and the music was much better.
9th Place: Beauty & The Beast (Live Action)
Tumblr media
Overall, I really enjoyed the live-action Beauty and the Beast. I love everything about it, it’s such a wonderful movie. Evermore is an amazing song that was added for this live-action version. However, it is my least favorite of the 3 live-action Disney princess films because I honestly didn’t like the choice of Emma Watson as Belle. Her voice just didn’t make sense with Belle’s. However, I did like that they included the backstory of Belle’s mom, and I love Belle’s dad in this film, he is portrayed a lot better than in the cartoon. I also loved Josh Gad as LeFou, it was such a perfect choice & also portrayed better than the original. However, I preferred the original, cartoon movie’s music, especially Be Our Guest which was a bit disappointing in the live-action since it is so iconic.
8th Place: Mulan
Tumblr media
Mulan is such an amazing movie! The music is great, I love the characters, it’s funny and super empowering. Mushu is legit my favorite character, which is why I am a bit scared about the live action version. Honestly, I really love the sequel more than the first one which is not super common to me. Mulan is everything tho, she is such a strong, powerful woman, we stan.
7th Place: Moana
Tumblr media
Ok, so Moana legit has the best music of all these Disney movies (because Lin Manuel Miranda helped produce the music so ofc it’s amazing) and the best (arguably) cast. Dwayne Johnson as Maui was literally the best choice ever, *chef’s kiss* to that. It’s also so cool that she doesn’t need a man and she’s independent/fearless. Probably one of the best modern Disney movies that isn’t live action.
6th Place: Aladdin (Cartoon)
Tumblr media
I love Aladdin, it is also super nostalgic for me. It’s amazing how the focus is more on Aladdin’s feelings, which is not super common in Disney movies, showcasing how the man feels. Also, Robin Williams (RIP) as the Genie was amazing and it made me laugh. The music was also so amazing and iconic. Jasmine is also one of the best princesses, I love it so much.
5th Place: Aladdin (Live Action)
Tumblr media
Now, for the live-action, I honestly think they did the impossible and made it even better. The casting was such an amazing choice, and even though I was very skeptical about Will Smith being the Genie at first, I really loved his portrayal of the Genie because he made it his own, and it was reminiscent of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Also, Jasmine’s song, Speechless, was beautiful and such a great touch to the movie (Noami Scott’s voice was a perfect match for Jasmine in my opinion).
4th Place: Cinderella (Live Action)
Tumblr media
Ok, I prefer the live-action Cinderella so much more than the cartoon version, because it gave Cinderella and the Prince a more human and well-rounded personality. I love that they included the background on why her name is Cinderella and on her mom. I also really enjoyed the people they casted in this movie and it was just such a beautiful movie with so much heart.
3rd Place: Beauty & The Beast (Cartoon)
Tumblr media
Ok, so ya this is such a classic and it is so nostalgic to me. Belle, for me growing up, was the princess I related to the most because she was intelligent and loved books instead of just being praised for her beauty, she was seen as weird because of her love of reading. I also really love all the characters and songs, they are so amazing!
2nd Place: Princess & The Frog
Tumblr media
I realized that the best Disney movies came out during 2009-2011. Princess and the Frog is a huge example of that. Tiana is an amazing princess because she is super hardworking and independent which is such a great role model for young girls. It is also an adorable movie and was so funny/cute. The music is also amazing and I love the New Orleans vibes, it's so good, I have no bad things to say.
1st Place: Tangled
Tumblr media
Tangled is literally my favorite Disney movie of all time! It is so funny and beautifully made. I can literally watch it over and over again without it being annoying because I am that into it. Also, the music is *chef’s kiss*.
There ya go! Comment down below your thoughts/rankings.

Look sometimes you gotta make a character that’s a little bit goofy because you love both deathclaws and Big MT mutant bullshit
(ignore her weird arm clipping, there’s no way I could think to avoid it without giving her no clothes at all afhsfhskl)
Tiana “Tia” Torres (a fabricated name, other than from the T-1A that was printed on a jumpsuit she once wore) was created in Big MT, in 2262; the latest result of a line of hybridization experiments by Dr. Borous. If she had hybrid parents, or was simply a mix of various genetic sources, she never found out for certain.
She received very little formal education in the facility, beyond what was needed to heed instructions and participate in experiments (basic reading, writing, and math). There was very little affection or approval offered to her for much of her life, and she became very dissatisfied with living in the lab. When she was about 16, there was a breach in containment (not the first) and she saw her opportunity to escape.
With no caps or possesions to her name, she eventually wandered towards New Vegas. A group of raiders happened upon her as she rested one night, and after getting a proper look at her, their leader decided to take her under her wing; she was a good potential investment. After living among them for about a year, the boss was killed during some in-fighting. Having come to look up to the leader a little, Tia felt a hurt she hadn’t known before at the loss. She killed a few of the perpetrators in some kind of vengeance, and then fled.
She eventually settled in a cave a bit to the southwest of Vault 3. After a few run-ins with some wandering Fiends, they quickly learned to leave her alone. She began using the spot as a place to rest and store some of her things, while she wandered around the Mojave hunting and taking what jobs that wastelanders were willing to offer.

Ever since, they all become great friends and would join the Garrison when they get older. Later on, the two were assigned to be on Keith’s fighter team. Keith being grateful and the girls excited about the selection.
~•~
Those are girls not to be messed with, especially when Keith starts getting protective of them. He thinks of them as sisters, and always thinks of them as family.
Lance might get jealous of Keith on how he had girls on his fighter team back at the Garrison, and he has a bone to pick with them.
Nora would not approve of Lance since he’s not her type of person she’s into, Luna has a major crush on Nora but is too timid to tell her. But she’ll tell her soon.
~•~
Finally, my Voltron OCs are here! Their bios were so hard to make but I’d love to thank @hellobookgeekforlife for helping me on that.
So, I made them on Elouai Dollmaker 3 and I edited the picture with the PicArt app, it was pretty easy! But it was kinda hard from the start and I did it.
Also, I’d love to see them in fan art and fanfics someday, but I don’t draw much and I’m more of a beta reader than a writer.
If you guys want to use them, just ask me first. Thank you!
