Can we please talk about the relationship between Fink and Roz?? 🥹🥹🥹
The Wild Robot spoilers ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Thinking about how naturally and instantly Roz and Fink took to one another. They meet under the most tense circumstances, but soon after, they become an ordered pair. I love how dedicated they both become to raising baby Brightbill. There’s nothing in it for Fink except for being part of a family, and you can tell he really enjoys it even if he never outright says it. He’s deeply sensitive and loving and maybe he hates it about himself, thinks he’s weak for it, but it’s true. Roz sees right through his nonchalant exterior. She understands him better than anyone else.
They raised a kid together and they will always be bonded for it. Only they know how much work it takes to raise a runt. They know the rejection inflicted on them by society, and they constantly fight nature that tries to kill their son like it does with any unfit creature. I’m so warm for the soft moments of concern shared between two parents; “He’s never gonna learn if he doesn’t get out there, Roz,” and, “You can’t be up there with him / then we’ll find someone who can” and they go together, in search of a flight instructor for their boy. :,) And how they both actively involve themselves in his flight training. Carving his ‘baby pictures’ into wood and displaying them by his nest. Quiet conversations like “Things still weird between you two? / Yep, still weird.” Telling him stories about the ‘beautiful robot’ that fell from space. I just… maybe it’s the mommy AND daddy issues in me, but seeing two parents fight for their disabled coded kid makes me feel so tender.
I was so soft during the ‘how do you know if you love someone?’ scene because you see it in his eyes that he does know, because after all this time he realizes he’s come to love her. He wants her to say it. He wants to say it but he has internalized that when he loves something, it never stays. Despite this, we can see at the end of the movie when he’s telling the animals a story just how much he admired her for not only bailing him out of his chronic loneliness, but for everything she did for the island. He’s the main one that keeps Roz’s memory alive after she leaves.
Hopefully in the sequel, we get an ‘I love you’ scene between these two. It’s wholly deserved. I want to be upset that we didn’t get it in the film, but I’ve come to feel that the absence of it is somehow even more poignant. Some things are just obvious and don’t need to be outright said, however, I think hearing it would heal some of Fink’s negative internalized beliefs that came from his childhood.

Are Merch Mimics capable of using assimilation offensively against humans, for self-defense and otherwise? Like, if someone tried to break a toy/game/etc they were inhabiting, could the Mimic instead pull them in?
To a degree, yeah. I should mention though that Victor isn't "in" the TV in any magical sense; spoiler alert: he's the controller Vance is holding! Hence, the eye on the controller reacting to the dialogue. The Victor on the screen is actualy a model he rigged for a homebrew game he coded the old fashioned way, which responds to whatever inputs the controller sends to the Wii.
He actually is an active member of the homebrew community, and loves to mess with electronics the old fashioned way. Almost no one on the forums knows he's a toy bird, but are impressed nonetheless with his little projects, various rail-shooter games, and weird obsession with snarky anthropomorphic birds.
Victor could technically "jump into a game" on a tv screen, but it'd be a bit of a weird process if he doesn't know how to mod the game, so it'd look more like a shitty greenscreen effect rather than anything coherent. He'd need to learn in real time how the game is coded, how to inject arbitrary code into the system while it's running, etc etc. He CAN do that because he's a fucking NERD, but it wouldn't be a quick process at all.
I should also mention, mimics have an inherent ability to create dreams, since they come about from processing the thoughts and ideas of humans. If a human bonds with a mimic, such that the mimic now knows how the human thinks, they can pull a (somewhat) willing human into the dream when the human sleeps. So to wrap this all up: what Victor could do for a game he understands inside and out is pull a human into a dream that happens to match whatever he himself experiences as currently going on in the game. Basically the ultimate VR experience, with the mimic as a middle-man. Which might be something that'll happen in the comic soon....!
So that all seems a bit convoluted, right? Here's even more worldbuilding about matter assimilation by mimics below the cut. Stop here if you don't want a headache.
The reason so many hoops would be needed to pull a human into a game world is that assimilation is much easier on inert, inanimate objects that are not currently "in use" by a thinking thing, or something that relies on constant electrical signals to function. This can be something with brainwaves, or some other kind of animation like a normal robot. A mimic can convert a CRT TV that's turned off somewhat easily, but a TV that's turned on, with particles of every kind constantly moving into and out of it, is much harder to convert.
This means that humans and biological creatures in general are also trickier to convert, though it can still happen if done gradually enough. Hence, Victor wouldn't be able to rapidly convert Vance in one fell swoop, it'd be a whole process. It's easier to just pull a human into a dream instead, and if a mimic understands a video game, or a story in a book really well, they can basically make the fictional world into an extremely lucid reality for whatever human tags along with them.
I often describe mimics as just "jojo stands if they were corporeal and could just get up and move around on their own with no user"; you know how in jojo stand battles or old stories about magic curses, if you break the curse or kill the stand before its effect becomes permanent, all of the damage is magically undone? Like if you kill Green Day, the mold stand, all of the molding just instantly stops?
Mimics who use their powers of assimilation offensively work similarly; they can project their influence to a certain range, and partially assimilate matter in that range. If you knock out or kill the mimic, however, everything reverts to normal. A human who doesn't want to get converted can basically just turn around and walk away most of the time, or shoot the mimic, so the mimic in question needs to pull off some trick to get the human to stay within range for the assimilation to fully stick. A human can still break free and get out of range even if fully converted, but it's much harder, as assimilation usually means the mimic gaining greater control over the converted object in question. The exact range and effect mimics have is again like jojo stand ranges; it varies.
Different mimics have different affinities for different things. Victor can assimilate cheap electronics fastest because he likes them and understands how they work (it's why he's a toy bird mp3 player). Az can assimilate guns, and turn ammo into weird anomalous ammo with weird effects. Zachary is a genius who can assimilate any matter, including biological matter, faster than anyone... but he's also extremely picky and hates the sight of blood, so he only uses assimilation on things he really, really likes.
If I could somehow make another read more at this point, I would. It's gonna get messy:
What a weird power and setup though, right? Why? The true nature of mimics is unknown to most of them, but the deepest lore is that the first mimics were constructs made by a people long ago, who first made them as highly advanced machines that'd recognize the thoughts of their masters to fulfill any practical desire. Need a road built? Done. Need a ship repaired? Done. With physical needs all met, the people began to turn inward, and use the mimics to illustrate their own artistic ideas. Eventually, the will and consciousness of these people were assimilated and inherited by mimics, who themselves became people. Mimics spread, altered themselves, duplicated, deviated, fused, split, and wandered around. Getting into recreational wars, manifesting horrors and delights into reality because they could.
Somehow, after the dust settled, the strongest mimics, the angels, decide to set their sights to the stars, and observe other lifeforms develop technology and their own art. Did mimics come to earth millions of years ago, and simply watched humans grow, evolving with them in-tandem? Or did humans make the first mimics, and somehow became undone and set back to the stone age? The answer to this mystery is currently known only to the oldest of mimics. Except Zachary. He's old, but didn't care to remember.
This is generally why mimics seem so compatible with humans; they were made by either them, or people who were, for whatever the reason, very much like them, flaws and all. The ability to assimilate is basically the conversion of matter into a more malleable state of information. A virtually magical power, but this was achieved not through prayers and spells, but a very human-like obsession with developing technology to the point of exerting control over molecules, then atoms, then the lowest planks of matter. The obsession with scaling every mountain and crossing through every valley. To rip the natural world apart, and hopefully, put it back together before it's too late. Angels seek to ensure humanity walks the right path there, but with human's own desires and intent honored, for better or worse.
To answer your question: yes. A mimic of Mario can pull you into the game and you can jump with him and eat shitty low poly spaghetti with him.
The process for doing that is just convoluted and complicated, and you need to get to know each other a bit first. If he tries to use it as an attack though, it either won't work, or it might just wind up giving you mild brain damage.

I have no idea what Arkknights is
And at this point im afraid to ask
Girls be called shit like Asbestos, Gravel, Mud and Debris
They eat rocks???
Gatorpeople???
Working in difficult terrain? I dunno
But i know the lesbians go crazy over it
I can clarify this (well, clarify again, I get this question occasionally).
Arknights people aren’t actually named asbestos, gravel, mudrock, cement, rockrock or any of that other stuff. Those are operator code names. A lot of the characters we don’t know their actual names, and since they go by their code names in the game anyway that’s just how people refer to them. All of them choose their code names (except arguably Pudding) so they frequently choose things significant or symbolic of who they are. Asbestos is a fireproof salamander who is a toxic jerk and has cancer so it was a very fitting name. Cement is a construction worker. Rockrock’s name is Rochelle Rockwell. There’s a lot of different reasons but ultimately those aren’t their actual names, but they are effectively their names.
They don’t actually eat rocks. As a gameplay mechanic, characters require resources in order to be promoted and become more powerful in game. However the resources they require for upgrades are kind of strange things like weird metals, cubes of rock, devices, a non alcoholic chemical that apparently gets you effectively drunk if you ingest it, and a bunch of other stuff. Tomimi, the alligator girl who is known for having an extremely fat tail despite her being a fairly short and small person, requires concentrated orirocks that require well over 100 orirock cubes to craft in order for her promotion. So I make dumb jokes that she was eating the cubes and that’s why her tail is fat
Gatorpeople? Yep! Almost all the characters in Arknights are like the type of catgirls that are human but have cat ears and a tail, but for a bunch of different types of animals. There are a few that are anthropomorphic animals and then there’s the people who are demons, vampires, elves (very rare. There’s only one), and characters based on mythical creatures like manticores, nues, all kinds of dragons, etc. there’s also some robots, not robot girls, just robots, they’re mostly rectangular and on wheels. And then there’s weird crossover characters like a stack of the cats from monster hunter, but those aren’t really canon anyway.
I don’t actually know what you’re specifically referencing by the difficult terrain thing but the world of Arknights is full of large scale catastrophes that require most cities to be on enormous moving platforms so they can avoid catastrophes. The world is also full of many hazards. I don’t know what else you might mean so I can’t help more with that
Yes the lesbians go crazy for it. ~80% of the characters are women who are often written to be competent and powerful and actually the focus of the stories. A lot of them are at implied ranging from slight hints to extremely blunt and obvious by their behavior to be lesbians. The story and setting are interesting, the characters have cool designs and interesting personalities and narratives, and a lot of them are gay women, and especially with the kenomimi-style animal girls, it’s not particularly surprising that other people like me get so obsessed with them.
Funnily enough, I think there’s still only 2 “canonical” lesbian operators if you take the extremely blunt stance of ignoring everything that doesn’t outright explicitly involve them professing their love or being in an explicit relationship with a woman. But you’d have to be intentionally obtuse to actually think those are the only ones given how a lot of the women act
#this was longer than I intended it to be#It is true to my core that for better or worse I am unnecessarily verbose#usually because I’m afraid people will misinterpret my meaning and usually in uncharitable ways if I don’t use the extra words to clarify#arknights

Just a random ask, what are some weird JTTW adaptations you’ve seen or heard about?
I can’t even begin to call them all but… if you bear with me, I shall try.
Here are a few games that I always found funny additions!
Starting off strong we have Journey to the West: Undersea Adventure (2021)! I have never seen it but LOOK AT IT.... THEY FISH
Six-eared Monkey (2021) where Six Ears goes back in time, accidentally adopts Wukong not knowing he is his future enemy and gives his life to save Child-Wukong despite knowing who he grows up to be.
Wukong's Christmas Adventure (2019) is like... saving Ruphdolh or something and Wukong is going through a mid-life crisis and also kinda depressed but CHRISTMAS. Also the Erlang and Nezha models in this movies are TERRIFYING... and also they have Wukong rap so take a look.
youtube
Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013) is weird but like in a GREAT way like... I love the monster designs they give Wukong, Bajie, and Wujing, it is such a different vibe then any other movie I have seen and Honestly LOVE It for that. Really sells just how HUMAN Sanzang is dealing with POWERFUL YAO that could kill him in a second.
Bling (2016) is strong that it didn't hAVE to be Xiyouji coded characters like the Monkey, Pig, and Frog are robot storage performers, wannabe heroes and they follow their creator who is trying to propose to his girlfriend but there really is not journey or ANY need to have the robot being Wukong, Bajie, and Wujing.
Spark: A Space Tail (2016) is also BARELY a Xiyouji film but like it does have a monkey with a staff and turns out he is the son of a king and a queen of monkey planet. Really more like Lion King with the evil uncle trying to take over but with space monkeys.... and also Bajie is there.
Mo mo King (2011) is something I'm not completely sure what's it about but just that it is like a whole monkey island that Wukong-like protag works at... and also Bajie is there.
Devil's Chip (2002) again NO idea what it is really about but there is space and time travel and for some ungodly reason no wukong from what I have seen but Sanzang and Bajie company the space/time travler
Flying Monkid (1996) I have no idea why this was ever MADE like there is barely a connection to Wukong and every other demon is new or some kind of version that is barely recognizable, not to mention the animation is barely any better than Pixal art.
Flying Superboard (1990) I always just found this one strange from the animation to the art style to the design choices. Like making Wukong some kind of skateboard, nunchuck, mouse-looking creature and giving Bajie a machine gun is.... something. I have no idea what they did to Wujing, made him like a bat, goblin thing.
Midnight Goku (1989) is like a sci-fi detective story where the protag has like computer eyes that can see through people and a bo-staff and honestly, I haven't seen but just the STRETCH they use to make this Wukong-related is so insane like would have never thought of it.
Little Wukong (1987) honestly not SURE what this story is even about but like... it is nearly lost media, this is so obscure and out of the way I have a feeling it was probs a children's education show or something but idk.
youtube
The Legend of Red Boy (1989) is something that looks like candy land spat out and while I have not seen it I am so sure that it is filled with nonsensical elements I cannot begin to describe.
King Kong's Adventures in the Heavenly Palace (1959) is... more of a crossover than anything else. Just imagine a movie where instead of Wukong destroys heaven... it is Kind Kong. Legit THE king Kong from the OTHER MOVIES YES.
Pink Journey to the West (2015) is honestly not that strong I would say besides that it is just Journey to the West but they are all girls... haven't seen it but who knows maybe it is good!
Tom and Jerry Chase with Tom as Erlang Sheng and Jerry as Wukong
Fortnite Wukong... that is it
Overwatch with Xiyouji skins just think it is adorable honestly. Love the Winston as Wukong
Plants versus Zombie: Journey to the West addition
Rabbits: Party of Legends
And while this isn't EVERY weird (there is a lot) one these are that I thought were at least interesting enough. Like a lot of Xiyouji movies have strange plotpoint but honestly, they are more boring and confusing than anything memorable. At least these were the ones I always thought were fun!

anyways domestic & romantic MXES headcanons bc I love him. good evening.
MXES x gn! Reader
• So for funsies, let's say he acquires a way for him to exist in the physical world. That can be a robotic body, or another physical manifestation. How you interpret how that came to be, or how he exists irl is up to you. You think he's attractive regardless got dam <3
• He's more sentient than you realized at first. The longer you're with him, the more he reveals his emotions to you.
• He is overwhelmed upon seeing the natural world. Every plant or bug or creature he comes across is met with intense curiosity, and he researches everything he discovers. Everything is so green and full of life and movement. You caught him standing still, absolutely entranced when a small yellow butterfly landed on his hand. He's never been the same since. He also likes fireflies especially. He pets every cat that comes up to him.
• He has a supportive and quiet presence if you have to study/work on something/etc. He'll sit close to you and work on coding, conjuring up the 538th security node for your place or researching stuff he finds interesting (he totally has like 400 tabs open). He likes to stay busy, so he'll always find something to do, especially if it means he gets to vibe with you.
• He's curious about your well being. If you get sick, injured or aren't feeling well for whatever reason, he's basically getting his Google MD to figure out how to help you.
• MXES often is non verbal, but you understand his intentions and thoughts regardless. He uses his hands and gestures a lot to communicate, his eyes are really expressive too. You're mesmerized by them sometimes.
• When be tilts his head at you, you can't help but melt a little inside and find him adorable. You hate it now, because he's figured out that's how he can convince you to do something.
• Likes to have things in order, so when you come home from class or work, you find your place cleaned and organized often. You tell him he doesn't have to do that, but he insists. On your days off, you both work on chores with music gently playing throughout the place.
• HE LIKES HIS EARS BEING CARESSED, HE'LL ABSOLUTELY DIE IF YOU DO THAT WHEN YOU'RE CUDDLING HIM.
• If you've had a stressful day or need to vent, he's very good at listening. He'll sit in front of you at eye level and his full attention is on you. He doesn't speak, and lets you spill your heart out. He's receptive to the way your tone changes, or if you say something particularly distressing. You notice his ears move or perk up with your words.
• If you get too worked up and start crying, he's instantly holding you. He rests his head on yours and remains silent.
• When you're away, he's always messaging you to see how you're doing. He sends you random memes. He also definitely sends like 700 heart emojis. He also sends this emoji a lot -> 🤨. This idiot either speaks normally or in hieroglyphs. ">//types like this."
• He has a hard time relaxing or powering down, since he was so used to essentially always working to keep the security running at the pizzaplex. He believes if he lets his guard down, something bad will happen. You work with him on that.
• Still kind of paranoid because of his experience at the pizzaplex. It's such a fundamental part of him to try to secure, contain and protect. If someone unexpectedly knocks at your door, or sends you weird messages, etc., he's scoping out the situation to look for any threats. Rest in peace the scammers who try to scam you.
• Likes to hold you close when you lay down. He's kinda clingy, and likes to grab onto you like a plushie. You're okay with this, but you have to peel him off you if you need to move or get up.
• definitely purrs a little.
• He powers down and recharges in fragments so sometimes he's up at weird hours.
• If you drive, he'll try to accompany you. You have to get tinted windows so people don't look at your car weird. He'll sit in the passenger seat and ask about passing shops or buildings. He loves it when you're driving and singing along to the music, he just stares in amusement. He remembers your favorite songs and makes a playlist for you.
• If he notices you're falling asleep at your computer, he'll discreetly turn it off remotely to force you to take a break.
• Totally blue screens irl if you kiss him on his nose. I don't make the rules.
• Can he cook? Not really. Will he try? Yes. Did he accidentally set a pot on fire once and freaked out and refused to turn on the stove for 2 weeks? Perhaps.
• Is keenly aware of all the recent news or updates regarding fazbear entertainment or the demise of the pizzaplex. The mimic went missing after MXES was taken offline by Cassie, so he stays informed. He wish he could do more. He feels guilty about it.
• Hackerman 3000. You'll have the most robust security system ever. Not even the FBI can track you down.
• Becomes a flustered mess when you kiss him or show him romantic affection. His ears droop down all the way and he essentially glitches out. You have to ensure you haven't broken him. lord help him he's got it bad.
• He enjoys looking outside and listening to the rain. He'll often just sit by the window and watch any lightning in the sky. He makes note of how it resembles parts of his arms.
Gotdamn this is so long im so sorry goodnight lmao <3

Otacon x Reader
Warning
Highly cursed at the halfway point. Spoilers for End of Evangelion and I wouldn't recommend that sane people watch it just to try to understand what the hell is going on. Yes there are parts where people turn into orange liquid followed by screams and upbeat happy music about suicide. Also do not look up the hospital scene for this movie (which it is infamous for). You have been warned.
_______________________________________
Otacon
Your smash main is Snake, you're a weeb or you fall in love easily and are used to being hurt by others.
First Date:
None. This man is busy raising a child with Snake.
Second Try:
The two of you meet on a fan board and quickly exchange numbers. Soon he invites you over to his house for a date. You asked where he lived but he said he would prefer to pick you up. You wait outside until you feel what seems to be an earthquake. You go to run but then you look into the sky. "IS THAT A GIANT ROBOT!" The "vehicle" pulls up and sure enough, Otacon is waiting for you. "Good evening. You look wonderful..." He then handed you a bouquet of flowers and you came inside.
Man, he really was an otaku. His home consisted of a bedroom that was really more like a storage space, a bathroom and a kitchen. "Make yourself comfortable, I'm going to bring some refreshments." You looked around for a spot to sit down, his room being like that one photo of Yoshihiro Togashi but notably much cleaner. The walls were stacked from the floor to the ceiling. You would have to tell your date that piracy was also an option. Most of it was just anime so you knew better than to touch it.
There was a small CRT and just about every console you could think of. Even the bad ones.At the far end of the room was a computer. You didn't really understand how that stuff worked but you figured his setup must be very expensive since all you had was Windows 95. You saw a purple creature on the desktop. "What's a bonzi buddy?
"You then noticed that Hal had come back. "I brought you a bento and some pocky. Only the best for my little waifu." He then blushed and turned the television off. "Sorry. I forgot that I was playing Policenauts on my Saturn earlier.."He then asked Alexa to play his spotify playlist which consisted of nothing but Hatsune Miku.
After you were finished eating, he took you by the hand. "Allow you to show you my prized collection." He brought you to his glass stand filled with various figures. It had a little bit of everything. Transformers, all the Gundams, some Code Geass. Even this weird one he called Zone of the Enders? "Yeah, I'm a huge fan!" He then looked around to see if the almighty Mr. Kojima was watching."
But this... This is my favorite." It was a giant build of EVA 01. "I never knew you liked Evangelion..." He then pulled out a copy of End of Evangelion. "Would you like to watch it with me? I have the renewal edition..." You gazed into his eyes and kissed him. "Wow..." He then turned on his hello kitty DVD player and inserted the disc.
The two of you started frenching during the komm susser tod sequence. You began to stroke him while the lyrics "It all returns to nothing" played. "Looks like someone's snake is solid..." He then thought to himself while the screams of those being turned into orange juice could be heard. "It's just like one of my Japanese amines!" You gave one final pull, yelling "It all CUMS TUMBLING DOWN, TUMBLING DOWN, TUMBLING DOWN"
________
Having finished, Hal shut off his VR machine. Ever since David had left him to go on a date with a woman, he hadn't felt the same. He thought back to when he asked him if love could bloom on the battlefield and then started to sob into his arm. "WHY DOES EVERYONE I LOVE LEAVE ME!?" Little did Snake know but Otacon had created a program where he could be with him in a dating sim. He would later sell it on steam and become as rich as Snake did from the fortnite cameo, bringing him into the spotlight. They would later get back together and become the ultimate power couple.

So what is..
Code & Deal
An original story I have been working on the past +-3 months, from design to script to working out the kinks, to soft world building, if you are curious about ocs or a story about a mother doing whatever it takes to protect her daughter and unintentionally finding and teaching an evil AI the power of friendship, this is for you ;)
The premisse
Melissa just settle in town(to be decided name) and is looking for a job, sadly no-one will take her in and the bills are ever growing, luckily, or not so much, an old friend offers a one time security gig, in a sketchy place, with sketchy people, but hey money is money
So she takes the offer and at the night she... discovers she's participating in the murder of the big bag guy who has every single small and big name under his tumb, all orchestrated by his own creation, his first of many, INC, the intelligent and power-hungry artificial conscience, who turned in it's own master bc... daddy inssues, by the end of the night INC is betrayed and Melissa has a new roommate... well, pc-mate?
The Genre
This is inspired by the "never ending stories", were each volume has it's own little adventure that will settle things out by the end, hence this first volume we got "melissa wants a job but can't find one, henceby the end she has a means to be self-employed".
Mostly a urban fantasy +sci-fi, were the world has hard and soft rules, robots, mystical creatures, anything that I fell like, magic, villains and heroes.
From these 4 years constantly making fandom stuff I discovered my strong is in comedy, hence why this story will also be mostly that.
The Main Cast
Melissa: a 30 something year old woman on the run from her blood family to protect her 10yol daughter, she's stubborn and intense, also was extremely sheltered and is now figuring out how to adult with a kid
Mia: now a 10yol(may change to 11), and way more open and friendly than when she and her mom started traveling, at like 7, still traumatized but so much better now, a weird little girl with interest way more gory than you expect from someone who loves pink
Natasha: is a colege friend of Melissa, helped her move and adapt in town once they reconnected, she's glad her friend finaly got out of the fucked up cult family. She is also an aspiring fashion designer, wich interests I plan on exploring on vol2
Cadu/Carlos Eduardo: Natasha's youngest trouble maker, a smart lil boy who loves mysteries and gossip, one year younger than Mia yet gets swears they met when babies since they are now like siblings from how close they act outside of school for there one rule, school friends are school friends and neighbor friends are neighbor friends, of you mix both? They explode
Teen son/yet to be named: Natasha's oldest, the boy is at his 16 and dealing with teen adrama and... what ever the hell these kids get up to(sumoning an eldrich being at the moment and the next juat building a sand castle), connected to music and full of daddy inssues
Madam/yet to be named: the head of operation kill the bastard, an old colege friend of Melissa who is now head of one of the 5 power houses of the city, her deal is control and connections, she knows important people and know things to keep them at bay and at her mercy, nothing pass by this town without her saing. Her business as a interprise consultor is merely a facade
INC's creator/yet to be named: a once big name of active full on super villains with all the glamor of it all now an old man maintaining his empire after successful killing his designated main hero, he has many creations wich he treats as merely extensions of himself. He has dirt in every single person who walks this planet be they born or not.
Sebastian: one of the 5 power houses of this city, inherited his business from daddy dearest and is now expanding in this mid town, hopefully no-one(except that fucking bastard) knows they are actualy aliens but that's besides the point he is not the focus whe Melissa is in the protagonist light, he however is gonna be a big deal when another secondary comes at play
INC: "Interface de Negociação Conciente" or in eng the Concient negotiation interface, the machine that allows his creator to keep tabs in every single person all because of his complex codding and machinery, has grown bitter of his old man and plans on taking over not noticing how easy it is to be knocked down once you have only one immovable hardware that is the sole reason he can keep running so much shit

OH god actually it's really funny how much shit that was in it has come to pass in canon by now, because I originally conceptualized it circa gen 4. It's usually what I think about if I think of like pokemon fancharacters or whatever. here we fuckin go
It was based on the Holon region in the TCG which has pokemon with funny types. we have Tera types now... the idea was that it would be begin further expanding and adding its own League and whatnot. I put it as above Johto/Kanto so relatively gen 1&2 selection of mons. keeping it simple.
it was more about the Weird Type Shit, which the pokemon prof of the region was studying under an organization she was a part of (the evil team, which was not branded as "Team (x)" just like Aether Foundation lmao). anomalies to track down and whatnot. but they were also inducing it themselves and studying other detected anomalies in the region. or sometimes the experiments they did created new, unintended anomalies of their own
this was mostly to make Missingno canon. which is like the only thing that hasn't still come to pass yet (BUT IT SHOULD!!!!!!). my dearest darlingest Missingno, the entire reason I love glitches today, was effectively my box legendary. the backstory of the prof was much like Lusamine in that she saw this Fucking Weird Pokemon a long time ago due to her Experiments and it fucked her up and she became a weird bad anime mom afterward. SHE EVEN HAD A DEAD HUSBAND!!!!!!! I FUCKIN INVENTED LUSAMINE FIRST
oh I should mention the "protag" analogue of the region WAS the professor's child. SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you had to fight your mom. who is the prof. who is also the evil team leader. and corrupted by some messed up videogame code. damn that sucks
later when we started getting more AI-feeling Rotom characters, I imagined a Rotom in a more robot/android body as one of the team underlings. he was the protag's buddy back home but now he has to fight you :( sorry i dont wanna do this but my programming is telling me to (throws a pokeball out halfheartedly)
(ASIDE: I remember in the first movie when they were like flabbergasted at Mewtwo technically qualifying as a pokemon trainer. that was kinda fucked up and weird, can we go back to that? tbh when I think about it, a lot of the vibe of my fanregion is based on how Weird early pokemon gens felt. they really dont make it like this anymore. Ape Inc became Creatures, I'm certain some EarthBound talent factored in)
I think I was also imagining weird-typed versions of the legendary birds for a trio, which is funny cuz we got Galarian versions of them now too....
Hooke was originally a Pokemon OC and was my first one actually, he ran a Dark-type gym because one didn't exist in canon yet. he was ex-Team Rocket and moved up north to turn a new leaf. thought it fit Dark's vibe as like the Schemer Type. I had to wait amazingly long for an actual Dark-type gym in canon which is kinda funny. it actually felt a little sad when we finally got one because it had been 11 years since I had made Hooke in protest of this
if you remember my OC Serafine (she doesnt have a TH SORRY), she was also an evil team exec.
she doesn't have a modern analogue but another one of the fancharacters was the rival-type one and she was Lt. Surge's spoiled neice
the Ghost-type gym leader I can describe as a Super Nerd with the constitution of the Hiker. can see ghosts but is a social outcast but more in a nerd sense than a goth sense. I liked him a lot but I haven't had anywhere to put him :(
the Psychic-type leader was extremely tsundere and her mind reading helped her out with all those tsundere insecurities (now she's just paranoid and preemptively reads people's minds)
the Fire- and Steel-type leaders were a duo battle of "smoke and mirrors" themed magicians. and also married
this is largely stream of consciousness I hope this post makes SENSE

Headcanons!! WOOO!! ummm a couple of my main ones!!
- maxo is an cyborg, he had most of his body replaced so young he can't even remember, making it so that he fully believes he's human and it's a nasty surprise when he finds out otherwise
- looking directly at Antoines 'fourth' face causes a whole out of body moment. You see stars and planets, space sings for you, it's so overwhelming but it's so beautiful. He covers it up cause it's just kinda annoying trying to talk to someone when their too busy having an eldritch moment :/
- bad wears super thick clothing because the overworld is so cold compared to his home dimension. It keeps him warm and he has chronic 'cold hands' disease that he uses on foolish.
HELLO ANON THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY
1. FIRST OF ALL I am such a cyborg Max TRUTHER. I've always head cannoned him as part cyborg in some way or another, either by his own doing or not. I'm so glad someone else feels the same way. The possibility of him not knowing and having to find out is good angst material.. Not to bring up a weird moment but something like when he got scanned bc he was saying he and Pierre got pregnant. And Foolish + Baghera just having to say yo. You're a robot dude.
Also with how he has a code leg - it's like a virus, and he was extra susceptible because he's a robot. The Federation, for the most part, is made up of what we assume are robots in some form, so it makes him an easy target if the code and the feds are one in the same.
2. This one's so silly I love it so much. I haven't seen many Antoine HCs outside of the fact that he's just a Creature which is already basically canon- oh the struggles of being an otherworldly entity.
3. This one is ALSO so silly- that's why he's always covered by that damn cloak. He's got like three other layers on and nobody can tell. How he manages that and armor nobody knows. I can imagine Foolish running from Bad or smacking him away as he tries to touch him with cold hands. Not that it would really affect Foolish much, but it's the principle.

Round 1, Side A, Poll 8
Rebekah Jakobs-Hammerlock ( @wainwrightjakobshammerlock ) VS. Sawyer Hale ( @thewikiplayer )
-------
( art by wainwrightjakobshammerlock )
What is your baby's name? Pronouns?: Rebekah Jakobs-Hammerlock, she/her
Is your baby from a fandom or original?: Fandom - the Borderlands game series
How old is your baby?: 5 in my post canon alternate universe (7-8 years after Borderlands 3)
Tell us about your baby!: She's the testtube biological baby of Sir Hammerlock & Wainwright Jakobs (which basically means she could aim and shoot a pistol at the age of 4) and has 4 siblings (one of which is also an oc, but is an adoptive kid, and the rest are canon characters who got adopted). She has a big plushie collection (some knitted or sewn by Wainwright, some crocheted by Hammerlock, some being gifts from extended family or the Crimson raiders) and also fucked up eldritch powers beyond human comprehension bc her parents are abominations from beyond the veil (my Borderlands rewrite AU is a mess haha) which she primarily uses to teleport all over the house, causing an understandable amount of problems. Clay is her weird uncle and she loves him. She's kinda based off Wednesday Addams because autism. Also she is autistic, the nicest weirdgirl on Eden-6, swears an unusual amount for a 5 year old (being around Wainwright del Frisco Jakobs-Hammerlock will do that to you) and often swaps between her Edenian (space southern) and her Hermesian (space british) accents bc yknow. Just listen to her dads speak and you'll see.
Anything else you want to add?: (1) Most people call her Reb for short but Wainwright calls her Rebby because yes. (2) She eventually grows to inherit the Jakobs corporation and generally sorta girlbossify but that's extreme future timeskip stuff I don't talk abt often because I feel cringe about it. (3) Her name continues on the general theme of Jakobs related things having biblical symbolism - Rebekah is Jacob's mother in the book of Genesis (if i remember correctly). (3) Her voiceclaim is Lili Zanotto from Psychonauts :D (4) She calls Hammerlock "Papa" and Wainwright "Daddy"
----
( art by thewikiplayer )
What is your baby's name? Pronouns?: sawyer hale, he/they/xe
Is your baby from a fandom or original?: completely original!! the universe name is "turnabout tech"
How old is your baby?: 16!!
Tell us about your baby!: [MOD NOTE: TW for father death]
sawyer hale is a kid who had a pretty hard knock life in a cyberpunk dystopia city. after deciding his dad kinda sucked, sawyer ran away and emancipated himself at 16 and moved into a different, nicer city and became a hermit for a while. afterwards, he proceeded to save the world twice; once he saved a cyberworld from the big bad capitalists and second he saved the universe from collapsing via terrible creature. as he goes through these adventures he learns how to be comfortable and happy with himself again.
also he destroyed his dad when he possessed a robot body. go kid!!
sawyer super loves tech but he gave it up for a while because Shitty Dad Ruining It For Him, but he eventually finds his passion again and makes phenomenal inventions. also he is the embodiment of Baby because all the adults around him want to scoop him up and carry him around for being a little issues boy with issues. they love singing and the arts in general, and they're very open-minded, which makes them a pretty good friend.
oh yeah all his adventures kinda messed up his biology so he's partially made of code now. and also has wings made of code. he can design them however he wants like retexturing game assets. YIPPIE!
Anything else you want to add?: I'M SO SORRY FOR THE PARAGRAPH. GODSPEED

Hello!!! I was wondering if we could get more Moblin stuff? I love the concept so much!
Also, would you be ok with people using Moblins and some of your other headcanons in fics and stuff?
I’ll be honest in saying the base concept of mobs that are more, human? In a sense, that base idea isn’t unique to me, and I’m pretty sure I got the word itself from an old Emerald Duo fic too.
BUT! If you want to use moblins and mandreds I’m how I write them, do know I will kill for you /pos. I always love when people incorporate my ideas into their works, and i want to see all of it so tag me when you do please. I’ll love whatever you create.
All my work gains inspiration from all the other artists and writers of the community, it’s only fair y’all can use me as inspiration too! [This goes for any of my ideas and designs, Just credit or tag me and I'll absolutely love you for it!]
But now on with the idea dump, it’ll be more of the base ideas of how things work. Will these ideas change in the future? Most likely! But it’s to be expected.
Alright so start off with the base vocabulary and ideas,
Moblins- more sentient mobs, includes both passive and hostile mobs. Be they very animal like, or the more “monster” type creatures one would find in the World.
Mandreds- most non mob like creatures, be it more human like, elven, fae, whichever else. Like testificates//villager/pillager types are counted here.
There is bound to be overlap of what is counted as a Moblin vs Mandred, the words are used more as umbrella terms then binary rules. Demonic like players may count themselves in either category if they see fit. It just depends how the player sees themselves sometimes.
Hybrids- self explanatory, a player who has multiple mob like, or Mandred like traits, can really be any mix and isn’t always just “X mob and human!”. Irl hybrids are a lot more compiled, and can rarely reproduce, but I ignore that science because fuck you this is fantasy and there’s a dragon, let me have fun
Shifters- players with the ability to shapeshift. There are some moblin shifters who can only go from their more Mandred like appearance to more of a moblin, as well as shapeshifters who can change to whatever form they can feasibly control.
Player- umbrella term that identifies all entities regardless of traits.
So what makes mobs so different from moblins then? Overall it’s just a higher form of sentience and being further along the line in evolution depending on the mob. Think humans vs monkeys vs fish I guess. It’s mainly that having the higher sentience leads to the world giving these creatures a proper player code so they can, exist, live life and create and love, and importantly, respawn.
And sometimes the definition of what higher sentience counts as, is weird, and it’s better not to question it too hard because it’ll make one’s head hurt. Brings up questions of “why can there be literally entity’s of void and gases that walk around” where the only answer is just “because this void learned there is love, and it was loved back”. The universe is very kind, and it will grant true life to those that know of the love it feels, it is just unfortunate the world is cruel.
That’s why the universe gives the sentinels and robots created by ancient builders as much love as they do. These are entity’s made for the sake of protection, and many of them were made with so much love, they themselves understood it. They were forgotten in time by those who originally built them, but the universe remembered and allowed them to breath. I count sentinels as Iron/snow golems, blazes, creepers, guardians, and though very aggressive, withers and the warden. Just all the Lil dudes who were originally made to protect.
There’s a question of how many animal moblins came to evolve, but that’s just evolution sometimes man, one day you just figure out how to walk on two legs and the body adapts. And in all fairness the ancient builders were way closer to what piglins are, so the more important question is how the hell humans came to be /j.
[//this section I’m kinda talking about death and corpses, quick warning if you need] But the undead moblins are a fun topic, because the idea of what happens to the player after respawn is fun to explore. Many of the undead mobs that wander the wild and attack players, are very much the result of players who died and respawned, but the body didn't disappear. They are just the left behind husks of body’s that move on pure instinct, they just don’t have any code or soul behind them anymore. The knowledge of Why sometimes a body may disappear after respawn and sometimes not, has never been figured out, just another weird code of the universe. Still’s always a little unsettling to be in a cave and see a zombie that looks just like your friend, just all rotted away and two seconds from attacking you. Worse when it’s yourself.
Then what about the undead moblins themselves? that is what happens when the body is supposed to die, but the player refuses to. The body may start to rot away sure, they may become just bone and soul, but the player is still alive and kicking and the universe learns to accept that eventually. It happens most commonly when the player was meant to experience permadeath. Like times when the player succumbs to the infection and the world lets them die a final time, or the player continues on.
[ok we good!]
Am I forgetting some things? Probably, this was written over the course of a few days as I’m chillin on the bus. But a lot of my ideas will be born from canon things, or random hidden knowledge of minecraft lore. Also the fact I was a dnd kid feeds into this stuff a lot too probably. But I like to have fun with ideas and create worlds that I’ll eventually forget about, but now I’ve actually got an audience who’ll remember it.
#fitzs answers#headcanon dump#worldbuilding dump#hehehe mincraf lore#I love talking the abandoned ideas and turning them into actual personal canon#like the enderman that used to have green eyes is now part of how I’ll write em#and how villagers were first implemented as the players but a pig skin!#answering the thoughts

Review Everything 32 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Please note, this review briefly touches on simulated child abuse, and shows images of simulated animal abuse as well as discussing that topic with some depth. Please proceed with caution.
Hoo, boy. What to say about this movie. Let’s start with the neutral to good stuff.
This is a weird send off for this team. It’s the last Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which in and of itself I’m happy with. I think 3 movies plus some bonus screen time in other movies and shows was the perfect amount needed to complete these character’s arks. It was cool seeing Mantis come into her own as a fighter, teen jock Groot was fun, and I am SO EXTREMELY HAPPY that they didn’t have Quill and Gamora get together. The fight scenes were done with better than usual polish, it was nice to see long shots in the action scenes instead of the often defaulted to in Marvel formula of hit, cut, hit, cut, hit cut.
I also really enjoyed Gamora’s characterization here. She went from, “I don’t get why some version of me would love you piss the fuck off.” To, “I get it, but also, again, that wasn’t me so I’m gonna go do my own thing now.” I like that she’s her own person and not a story loophole for Marvel to get out of killing a character in a way that wasn’t supposed to be reversible. Keeping her her own character who’s not romantically interested in Quill makes her feel like her own person, and keeps the weight of the original Gamora being gone in tact.
Now on to the not so good to bad stuff.
Not So Good:
Having Mantis just out of nowhere, with no prior hints, be like, “Yeah I’m leaving.” Drax I get because he’s had this whole “used to be a Dad” thing going from the get go, but Mantis? She was thriving! And having Quill stop running is good-ish but like. He’s my least favorite character on this team, so when, at the end of the movie, they’re like, “Peter Quill will return.” I’m like. On Earth? Just chilling with his Grandpa? Doing normal Human stuff? As is, not a thing I’d bother to spend my time on. Not a thing I watch Marvel movies for.
Outside of the rest of what I’m going to write about the stuff with Rocket and his first set of friends, it was VERY weird to have the final movie in your trilogy have one of the core friends just gone for the majority of it. Not having rocket to interact with the rest of the team for their final movie together. I guess it works, cause like, it sets up that the Guardians team is kinda modular. As long as a few of the core folks are around they can make the team work. Saying that this was “always Rocket’s story” though? I don’t agree. The thing that works about this series is all of them playing off each other. As much as the movies frame Quill as the “main character” it just doesn’t feel like that when you watch these movies, at least to me.
The Bad:
Animal abuse is bad. Child abuse is bad. A movie where you child code anthropomorphic animals and then abuse them? Doesn’t make for a “bad” movie necessarily, but a hard to watch one. Honestly, if I had known how brutal and disturbing some of these scenes with Fllor , Teefs, Lylla , and Rocket were going to be I don’t know that I would have watched this movie. I cried though a lot of the half of the movie that’s Rocket’s backstory, and felt physically ill a few times. I’m greaful that they didn’t show us much of the actual surgeries, but I am sad that I’m gonna have to use Does The Dog Die from how on with Marvel Movies.
Let’s touch on Fllor as an example. She is the most heavily modified of the batch Rocket belongs to.
She has either part of her face missing or modifed, she’s had antentas attached to the top of her head, what looks like a second set of eyes, and robotic spider legs added on.
Now, here’s the thing. I “get” why Rocket was changed the way he was. Teefs and Lylla too. If you want a creature to navigate the world as a person when it’s an animal you need to change its body. It would be unrealistic for Teefs to move easily around a busy city that’s not under water as a walrus. So you give him wheels. The movie is so dark in those scenes that it’s hard to tell if he’s attached permanently to his wheel chair seat or not, but, like it as little as I do, that’s a choice that makes a sick kind of sense. Same thing for Lila, otters have short stubby arms that would make reaching things a struggle and they don’t have hands so adding some on, I get it.
But why the fuck does Fllor look like Fllor look like Jigsaw tried to make a spider cyborg? Is it for climbing, which we don’t really see her do? Rabits are already fast as fuck, so it can’t be for speed. They’re perfectly mobile and agile, so not for the same reasons that Teefs has for having wheels. And the thing over her face?
I think whoever designed her decided that the “upgrades” done to Lylla, Teefs, and Rockets weren’t... Gross? Upsetting? Gothic? Enough, so they took the cutest animal they could think of that we do real world animal testing on and made them look as fucked up as Disney would let them get away with.
Like, AFAIK Fllor isn’t in the comics. The closest thing we’ve got is Blackjack O’hare. And sure, he’s got cybernetic additions but they’re not needlessly gross or upsetting ones like Fllor has.
Floor was made up for the movie. Sot they had total freedom to do with her design whatever they wanted. And what they wanted was upsetting. So, ya know, I got upset.
They upped the gross factor for “Teefs”, Wal in the comics, and Lylla too but. I don’t know it’s just not the same as with Floor.
On top of being horribly modified animals, because this is a flashback and the characters are young, they’re also children. Children we get to see shoved around, screamed at, and shot. Alongside rapid, painful body changes, decapitation, gas lighting, and on screen immolation of other animals in similar situations. And this is all before we watch many animal-people die on screen as their entire planet is rased to the ground and crowds of children being trapped in cages in the cargo hold of a ship like they’re goods, not people. The movie just keeps piling on the longer it goes. We’re even treated to a nice, long, juicy close up of The High Evolutionary face after Rocket has torn it off. Normally body horror in movies really doesn’t bother me, but after all the awful animal stuff I just about barfed when his face popped up on screen. And there’s no real catharsis for any of this shit, which you would expect from the end of a series. You don’t need to go this far to convince us that these characters were honorably abused. Between everyone in America understanding that animals are abused in real life, and Neblula saying that it was worse than what Thanos did to her, that would have been enough. We don’t need to see them get abused on screen multiple times. It feels like torture porn, it feels unnecessary. I also really don’t get why Fllor, Teefs, and Lylla all had to die. Like, was it to help Rocket move on? The could have been dumped somewhere by their careless creator to come back later, and have a moment of reuniting and them owning their lives, instead of all getting murdered and then helping Rocket with a few kind words in the space between life and The Endless Sky.
And listen, I get it. The movie was impactful. So if shock value was the main thing they were going for here they got it. It was just a big let down to me personally, after the masterpiece that was Vol.2, and coming from the Found Family TM part of the MCU. Animal abuse isn’t fun, child abuse is worse, but it feels like the movie fell short by showing us all this graphic content and then not doing anything about it. Rocket looses half his friends at the end of the movie because they go off and do other things, they shot and killed his first set of friends instead of exploring what cool stories they might have to tell in the MCU, and then the movie kind of just peters out with them standing around in a room and talking, then going their separate ways. Will Rocket make a good leader? No idea, his history doesn’t suggest so. Taking care of Groot and being a good team member does not a leader make. Will we see more of Rocket? What will that look like? It feels so incomplete, like a 4th movie was being set up for only for it to not happen.
And the movie was so difficult to watch that I doubt I’ll ever watch it again.
What an unfortunate send off for many of these characters.
Really, why was I made to sit through all of that. What did I get out of it? Or Rocket? Or his friends?
In Summary: What a weird and gross way to end one of my favorite Marvel things. Good for Drax and Gamora, Mantis and Quill who knows, and Rocket I hope we see more of in the future. It’s too bad that Marvel now has gone over my personal threshold for disturbing content and I’ll have to be careful about that after 15 years of it not being an issue. There was some pretty great stuff in the not animal abuse parts of the movie, and I wish Rocket had been there for more if it.
4/10

From what I remember the fantasy racism thing was that that the humans made the Automae then oppressed them. So the Automae fought back against the humans who were their oppressors then decided to oppress the humans. So now the humans hate the Automae who are violently suppressing them. And it just. Really did not feel like it was being handled with nearly enough nuance. I wish I wrote something out after I read it because I don't remember enough of the worldbuilding to write a good criticism of it, but I remember stopping and thinking about it about 3/4 of the way in and just being hit by how weird some of it was. I don't think the author did it out of malice. It's just. Not great.
Then the aphobia and ableism thing. Ugh. So basically all of the Authomae (evil heartless emotionless robot people) were pretty autistic coded I think, especially the main character. And autistic coding robots (and aliens and other similar fantasy creatures) to mark them as other (and often evil) is a big thing that is not good. It usually seems to come from an author writing a humanlike character who does humanity wrong somehow. Which usually involves the author painting certain things to be fundamental parts of the human experience and those who do not experience these things not fully human. This is also where the aphobia comes in. I remember in Crier's War specifically, a big part of Automae society is that they purposefully mimic human society without truly being human. So they arrange loveless marriages for political purposes and stuff like that. And this makes them bad and not human because they don't do romantic love (or love in general) or have sex or value family connections like humans do. But then one of the mcs is an Automae but she's special and different because she can choose to experience love?? And there's this scene where she overhears the Automae queen from another country having sex. So she is then like. Woah. She chose to be human and experience love and passion. I should do that too. And yeahhh that just doesn't sit super well with me.
Last disappointing read?
I haven’t really read new books other than FHH since summer, but Crier’s War by Nina Varela. It seemed really cool at first but it ended up being pretty disappointing. I think the world building suffered from some really clumsy fantasy racism™️ and had a lot of aphobic and and ableist tropes surrounding the portrayal of the evil unfeeling robot people™️. I haven’t read it recently enough to have super coherent thoughts on it but I really didn’t love a lot of the choices the author made. I also read it pretty quickly so I could be misinterpreting something? But yeah I didn’t love it.
However I did also read Blood Debts by Terry J. Benton-Walker around the same time which was very good would recommend.
