thoughts on grady and alden?

I love them both!!

I honestly hate how people perceive Alden’s character now because of what Shannon made him say. She should acknowledge the fact that majority of her readers have like zero reading comprehension skills and will pretty much just go with whatever is presented in front of them which is that “Alden is now some jerk who doesn’t care about Keefe”.

I’m referring to the stupid short story in flashback btw. I don’t know why Shannon wanted to paint his character in a bad light. To like force him into a situation that ended up making him look bad when he doesn’t actually?? It’s OBVIOUS his heart was in the right place. People just want to pull random stuff out of their rear ends and claim that Alden doesn’t love Keefe- like um he does guys. Are we forgetting the kind and sweet things he has said and done for Keefe?? He used to invite Keefe to his mansion just so Keefe can escape his parents. He was the first person to tell Keefe how proud he is of him. Freaking Ro just made Alden look like he’s some bad person because he cares too much about kids.

Was it his place to say what he said? Honestly subjective. In some ways yes it was, in other ways not so much but in the end he didn’t even WANT to say any of it. If we wanna blame someone in that scene it should be Ro. She practically bullied that answer out of him and honestly the answer he gave wasn’t even that bad. He just doesn’t want Keefe to get hurt because he sees that Fitz and Sophie love each other dearly. Which they DID! He even said that he was in Keefe’s place once. He obviously said this because he cares, and he cares SO much about Keefe that again HE DIDN’T EVEN WANT TO SAY WHAT HE SAID IN THE FIRST PLACE! I’m repeating myself I know but it seriously gets on my nerves the way people switched up on his character so quickly because of ONE small little scene that I honestly wish didn’t exist because it had too much Ro in it. And if someone brings up the “this is the way it ends” line or something along those lines- basically implying that Fitz and Sophie are like official and it will stay that way, let us also acknowledge that he took it back. Maybe not like 100% but he obviously realized how that sounded.

My point is the fandom needs to really brush up on their reading skills because what Alden said in that short story was not wrong. His heart was completely pure in that moment. Did it still hurt Keefe? Of course it did. No one wants to hear someone tell them it’s best to stop pursuing the love of your life but I’m pretty sure even Keefe understood where Alden was coming from.

This turned into a tangent, my bad lol.

But yes I love Alden and Grady. God I love Grady yes omg like that elf needs more page time I’m not even joking! They both do! Bring back Alden and Grady Shannon!!
