The series Ahsoka is coming out soon, and in light of the recent comments by Ashley Eckstein...
... I figured I'd also point out that people hated Ahsoka.
Every complaint you've heard about Rey? It had been hurled at Ahsoka about 7 years prior.
âOh, sheâs fighting Grievous and sheâs only, like 13?! Thatâs so OP!â
âShe feels like a Mary Sue written for a prequel based fan fiction.â
âOh, she disobeyed an order from Yularen on Ryloth?! Sheâs so snippy!â
âUgh, I hate her and her stupid voice!â
âSheâs always pointing out stuff other characters have missed, like sheâs so perfect! She's a Mary Sue with an annoying voice and personality.â
And honestly? I remember that period. People despised Ahsoka (and sometimes voiced anger towards Ashley Eckstein too), just like they hated Hayden Christensen, and most Prequel-related content.
But guess what? They weren't the target audience. Said Eckstein in her 2018 book It's Your Universe:
âAhsokaâs arrival on the scene was met with mixed reactions. She had a big personality and was very snippy. [...] She talked back to Anakin, and some even called her bratty. Critics didnât quite know what to think, but kids loved her. Finally, girls had another character besides Leia and PadmĂ© to play on the playground â and now there was a lightsaber in their hands.â
They didn't "fix" Ahsoka, as you'll see on some click-baity YouTube thumbnails.
She had a fucking character arc. There was nothing to fix.
The whole point of her character is that she starts out as immature and petulant as Anakin is in Episode II. This forces Anakin himself to grow up, so he can better take care of her.
Eventually, they both mature together... and at some point, Ahsoka surpasses Anakin by learning and implementing the Jedi teachings, while Anakin remains stuck on that first part (no thanks to Palpatine).
Same thing goes for Reva. The character has a goddamn arc.
I'm all for putting a "save the cat" moment to make these characters more likeable (and even when they do, like they did with Rey, then somehow the problem becomes that they're too likeable), but at the same time, I think parts of the fandom should wait and see before prematurely hating on a character (who almost always "just happens" to be female, weird!) to see what story is being told.

Disney-era Lucasfilm has given me essentially one film I adored (Rogue One, which also has my favorite SW ship and two of my favorite SW characters in Cassian and Jyn). It's also produced two more films that I very much liked (though only one of those still remains high in my estimation tbh), and a bunch of SW material that is not really the SW that plays in my mind, but at least fun and interesting to think about with the very glaring exception of TROS. I never had any investment in Legends, either, so for me the Disney era is not some huge loss.
I say all of this to emphasize that I'm not a kneejerk Disney SW hater. Nevertheless, I'm actually very disappointed with DLF's tendency to emphasize how ground-breaking and diverse and ~challenging some new SW media thing is without doing much to support the people involved or appearing to foresee that a fanbase prone to bigotry, nostalgia, and throwing screaming temper tantrums for decades on end is not going to react well. This is in no way an excuse for those fans, but DLF does not seem to ever predict how SW fans will respond despite their well-documented history of responding really badly to anything that remotely challenges them.
I love SW and I love my personal friends in SW fandom, but there have always been a significant number of vocally hateful and reactionary SW fans who manage to shape the discourse around basically everything in it. This is completely predictable. The fact that DLF seems completely unprepared for this reaction every time they give central roles behind and in front of the camera to women and/or POC, and also appears to do very little to support the actual RL marginalized people they hire when not just cravenly giving in to the worst elements of the SW fanbase (*cough*TROS*cough*) is incredibly frustrating.
Yeah, this is about DLF's poor handling of eminently predictable fan tantrums over The Acolyte which has just culminated in cancelling it after a bare eight episodes, but it's happened so many times at this point. The Acolyte was far from perfect but after how visibly unprepared DLF were for the raging bigotry directed at Kelly Marie Tran, John Boyega, and Daisy Ridley, or how weird people were about Solo, or the misogynoir surrounding the response to Reva in Obi-Wan Kenobi, or or orâthey absolutely could and should have known that something like The Acolyte was going to need a lot of higher-level support to have any chance of success. At the very least there's no excuse for being surprised at this point.
And it feels a bit like it, and the actual people involved in it, were never really given a fair shot and the real higher investment is going to be in, like, Baby Yoda 4: Now With More Ewoks.
My friends and I just finished our first run of Jedi: Survivor, which we really, really liked, but there is definitely a tragic white boy protagonist propped up by POC and/or women (many now dead!) aspect to the whole thing that feels essential to its popularity. And it is frustrating and disappointing and all the more so because it's so eminently foreseeable at this point.

hey! just wanted to say that i'm so happy to meet a fellow reva lover!! she is absolutely one of the best parts of the show as a standalone character who also moves obi-wan along on his arc. i hardly hear anything about her when she deserves so much more hype :(
hot take but i love that her backstory is so...predictable in the best way. it makes total sense that there were youngling survivors, and of course they would have a deeply traumatic, emotional relationship towards darth vader and the empire he's helped to create if they knew what he was before that - the chaos from the annihilation of jedi culture, guidance, protection.
i'm not articulating well but it's amazing how it's absolutely the most straightforward thing to do: it shows that anakin and palpatine's actions have Consequences. the protagonist, the main villain, and reva are all still fixated on this thing that happened. to see it on the screen explicitly, with no excuses, just: look at what happened. take it in. wow.
for all the people in this fandom who love obi-wan and particularly ewan mcgregor's portrayal, i would expect this show to be remembered way more fondly than it currently is. it genuinely delivered everything i wanted: a close look at obi-wan's feelings, his relationship with anakin, his relationship with the jedi at large, and his strength through all that turmoil. i can understand minor complaints like "oh how'd they manage to hide leia in obi-wan's coat for so long" but the general vibe seems to be "that was a waste of time" and without throwing shade, it's perplexing. my current reasoning is that people wanted more nostalgia, less nostalgia, more excitement, or their understanding of the jedi (inevitably tied to obi-wan) conflicted to the point where the emotional tension + Theme just didn't hit. that's what seems most likely: if i didn't care for the Jedi and what they stand for, a whole season's worth of character study + rebuilding largely focused on the long-reaching consequences of order 66 might seem useless or just nostalgia-bait.
but luckily that is not me and i am a proud kenobi show is actually one of the best things that's come out of Disney SW believer. that line about jedi leaving a trail of compassion sold it for me - it's a spin-off done right, and it's ironic that i (a person who generally dislikes spin-offs/new media based on decades old material) go so hard for it but that's life!
Reva's incredible, and such an immensely underrated character. Reva is arguably the second most important character in the show after Obi-Wan himself, and in some ways, even more important than he is. Reva is the one who causes the story to move anywhere, her actions are the catalyst for almost every major plot point. There is NO STORY without her, none. The amount of pressure on Reva's shoulders to be parallels for both Obi-Wan and Anakin simultaneously, to be her own independent character with her own motives and journey, AND to carry the entire plot is absolutely insane. And somehow they managed it all and we ended up with one of the most interesting and satisfying characters in Star Wars as a result. I'd love to see more of her story post OWK, but I'd be VERY picky about who got to tell that story and really worried that it wouldn't be done well.
I'll be the first to admit that OWK isn't a perfect show. As you mentioned, there's some weird little choices they had to make in order to move the story forward that stretch suspension of disbelief a little. What I have found is that, if you WANT to enjoy the rest of the story enough and have enough other things in the story that you genuinely DO enjoy, it's really easy to ignore the smaller things that are kind-of silly or not done as well. I love Obi-Wan as a character, I really enjoyed the story they were telling for him in this show, and so I can ignore some of the issues that exist with it because they never took away from my enjoyment of the story being told.
I couldn't do that with, for example, the Ahsoka show. There are A LOT of people who could, though. There were absolutely people I saw who could recognize some of the weird issues with the show but enjoyed enough other parts of it and WANTED to enjoy the show enough that they were willing to set those things aside. But I personally didn't enjoy the story being told and I had enough other issues with the show that the smaller problems with it became bigger issues for me, they were just one more reason why the show felt like complete and utter garbage and contributed to my lack of enjoyment in the show. There were people doing the same with The Acolyte as well, I know.
So I must assume that the people who harp on smaller things like the silliness of Obi-Wan being able to hide Leia in his cloak for so long are just having a similar experience with OWK as I had with the Ahsoka show. They don't enjoy the story being told, they have issues with the characterization of Obi-Wan perhaps, the vibe of the show just isn't what they were expecting it to be perhaps, and so the little things become much bigger issues for them than it is for people like us who genuinely enjoyed the show for what it was.
I feel like one of the accusations I heard the most was that Obi-Wan didn't feel like he was in character, especially towards the beginning. All I can do is speculate here because I haven't actually had a conversation with anybody who felt this way, but my assumption about this is that they didn't care for the choice made to have Obi-Wan be more depressed at the beginning. I think people assumed a show about Obi-Wan would involve more of Obi-Wan being the way he was in the Prequels: a charming, suave action hero. I assume they expected more of Obi-Wan being a badass who never really struggles with anything. And so Obi-Wan refusing to fight, Obi-Wan being BAD at fighting for a while, Obi-Wan being a lot more bitter and defeatist, all felt really out of character and unsatisfying to people who were expecting his Prequels persona instead.
And, you know, I get it. I don't AGREE, but I get where this is coming from. Obi-Wan was one of the characters people liked the most from the Prequels, one of the few who managed to get out of that relatively unscathed. So I can understand how people who felt that way, especially those who aren't super fond of the Prequels, would feel very let down by OWK.
And I feel like that's the crux of it. OWK was trying REALLY REALLY HARD to feel like the Prequels. So many things that have come out since the Prequels have felt like they were ashamed of the Prequels and wanted to either rewrite it or ignore it, including things like TCW and Rebels. This is the first piece of media that has not only not felt ashamed of the Prequels being its source material but was actively CELEBRATING that source material by attempting to mimic it as best as it could. With that in mind, it's no wonder that OWK is allegedly one of the things that Lucas has enjoyed the most that's come out of Star Wars (presumably since he sold it). It's the first time his vision has been treated like a positive thing and not a skeleton in the closet.
But a lot of people hated the Prequels, they still do. So a show that actively feels like the Prequels and celebrates them isn't going to appeal to people who didn't like them in the first place. Which, you know, is understandable. The Acolyte was a show whose entire foundation was criticizing the Jedi for being arrogant, elitist blowhards who caused their own genocide, as well as trying to one-up The Last Jedi in the toxic romance department. None of these concepts appeal to me, I didn't like The Last Jedi and still don't, so a show based around that vibe is never going to feel enjoyable to me. Conversely, I have a lot of nostalgia for the Prequels and I genuinely do still enjoy them, so OWK was perfect for me in a way it wasn't for others.
As frustrating as the current landscape of Star Wars media can be right now, there is just enough variety to it that, to some degree, there's something for everyone. I didn't like Ahsoka or The Acolyte, but I really enjoyed OWK and Andor. I'm not into TOTJ, TOTE, or The Bad Batch, but I've loved everything to come out of Visions. There's a LOT of content out there now and not all of it is going to appeal to everyone, and that's honestly fine. I don't have to watch the shows that I know won't appeal to me, and I can stick with the content that I know DOES work for me, even if others don't like it.

haven't done a writing update in a minute, outside of doing wip memes, so --
meet in the middle, chapter 26, the very last chapter -- I think I last counted this at 35 scenes, now I'm counting it at 33, with three of those scenes not having been placed in the outline, i'm pretty sure i've shuffled and consolidated some things, also i may just be off in my counting, who the fuck even knows what i'm doing. Anyway, 7 of those are almost entirely complete, 13 are partially done with 4 of those being more than half done, and 13 are not started.
damn. usually breaking it down like that helps me realize i'm further along than i thought but uhhhhh this really just reminds me how much further i've got. and it's been over a year. trust me, no one is more frustrated at how long this is taking or wants this fic to be done more than i do. cheerleading is. welcome if you want to. That said, all told, writing and outlining and notes and all, the draft is already 8k/30 pages, so it's not nothin, and I do really love some of the scenes I'm finally getting to writing/finishing, and I feel like I've got a bit of momentum. Just gotta keep coming back. 2024 guys, 2024. (knock on wood)
Other things I'm working on - you think a year and change is a while, the Believe AU series hasn't been updated in two+ years cause whoops, that did in fact grow a plot and an ending and it took a hot minute to figure that out. There are four fics left, and the very last one is with my first reader! (thanks M!)
Things that I've started more recently include two Lucius & Fayeth fics, for High Rollers Aerois, inspired by my relisten through (which I've almost finished up!) The first is actually Fayeth & Aridan centric, tentatively titled 'for I cannot turn yet', structured around three scenes, one of which is done, one of which is partially done, and one of which is still notes
The second Lucius & Fayeth fic is tentatively titled 'many rings', which has four scenes mostly/partially written, and then a big ending montage and set piece I still need to break down
As for more things I've been working on for a long ass time - I started 'we both are' shortly after watching the kenobi series, so well over a year now - it's a reva & obi-wan centric fic, to absolutely no one's surprise. I've been making some progress on it recently, it's got 3 scenes pretty much complete, 8 scenes partially finished with 4 of those more than halfway done, and 5 scenes not started.
Plus, a bonus - if you've heard me mention Somnolence or #somnolence fic fuel, that's my post-canon Insomniac Spider-Man 2 fic concept, that's currently just 3k/9pages of notes and bits of writing, but hey, it has a title and a summary - it, in fact, weirdly had a title and a summary before i managed to put a single word of it on page. if you like the weird mindscape/dreamscape kind of stuff i've done in a fair few of my fics, it's going to have lots of that, and if you looked at the spider man 2 symbiote/symbiote hive mind stuff and thought 'this could be weirder and hornier', it should be up your alley XD
anyway, writing! it's a thing i do sometimes.

I love how tall Solas is and I am ever convinced my jocks who romance him delight in him being taller cause they can then weird people out by picking him up and shit.
Like Davhalla Lavellan isnât short for an elf but she has to crane her neck to see Solas. And she delights in casually lifting him up when heâs found sleeping in a weird place to âexperience the fadeâ (Solas is commit to the bit on his identity. Also he is often tired anyway) and carrying him around. Itâs funny.
Revas Lavellan who is buddies with Bull delights in picking him up during battle. Itâs canon he often gets to close to battles (watched a TikTok about how he would so throw hands with people and I canât get the idea he was 100% in the thick of battle as a young man so heâs not used to staying back) and I can see Revas sweeping in, grabbing her boyfriend to sling him on her shoulder and booking it. This woman has picked him up to show she can do it in front of people. She has carried Solas when heâs injured.
It is so funny to me.

Hm...
Captain Phasma or Sandman's Lucifer? (battle of the Gwendoline Christies lol)
Book of Boba Fett or the Obi-Wan show?
Fix-it fics of existing canon or outright AUs?
Eobarry or Barrisco?
Only one bed trope or fake relationship trope?
(your ocs) Pippa or Pyrrha?
(your ocs) Cassandra or Kayla?
(my ocs) Nikoletta or Indigo?
HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE I AM GWENDOLINE CHRISTIE'S #1 SIMP AND I LOVE ALL GWENDOLINE CHRISTIES
Okay but first of all are we counting Phasma in the novels or just her appearances in the movies? Because in the movies, her characterization is kinda lacking and she's kinda just... there? (so I'd probably go with Lucifer) but in the novels, she's a much more dynamic character, and if we're counting that, I'm going Phasma. She's my wife.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, by far. BoBF was kinda eh to me, I wasn't a huge fan. The pacing was weird and I got bored of it really fast, there were some good moments, but mostly, it was boring. Obi-Wan Kenobi, on the other hand? Well, first of all, it features Miss Reva Sevander, aka what Kylo Ren WISHES he was in terms of complexity and moral ambiguity. Then, it also has those badass Obi-Wan and Vader scenes, and overall, it's just superior in quality.
I'll take fix-it fics of existing canon. I don't normally like AUs that much, unless they're REALLY canon-aligned (for example: hanahaki disease AU, soulmate AU, wingfic). Otherwise, it's usually a turnoff for me.
Are we talking OTP or BroTP? Because you're pitting those two against each other. Barry and Cisco are the buddies of all time, I don't really see them as romantic but their dynamic as friends is impeccable. Eobarry, on the other hand? It's toxic, it's messy, I love them, I hate them, I wouldn't want them within thirty feet of each other if they were real people- but unfortunately for them, they're not, and I'm going to watch their drama burn down and roast marshmallows over the ashes.
There's some nuance in that, in how it's portrayed. Both of them can be either super cliche or exciting enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. When done well, however, I'll take Only One Bed.
Pippa and Pyrrha are such different characters and I like them for such different reasons, it's difficult to decide which of them I like better overall. Pippa's so pure-hearted, she's down bad for a supervillain, she's lost so much and is still so happy and upbeat, while Pyrrha's the definition of a scrunkly wet cat poor little meow meow. I literally can't decide, since they're basically polar opposites, it's difficult to compare them on any axis.
KAYLA KAYLA KAYLA RAWR RAWR GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR okay now I'm normal. But seriously, I am so mentally unwell about Kayla, she's such a dynamic, ambiguous character, and she occupies WAY too much of my brainspace. I also love Cassandra so much, but since she's more of a side character, I don't really get into her headspace much.
I'm so sorry Indigo, I love you, but I'm gonna have to go with Nikoletta. Morally gray women own my heart, and the Queen of Belle Reve herself definitely fits the bill. Plus, her being so touch-starved, and her relationship with Abner both live in my head rent free (also her and Cassandra would totally get along ngl)

Just a dump of the Rook art I've done because I'm still trying to flesh this guy out and finalize how I want him to look, because why not be an absolute idiot and plan out a guy for a game you can't even play yet, right?
Revas Vircanis
18 yrs pre Origins, 39 pre Veilguard, Age 22
I dunno just playing with eye colors. Something something elves eyes glow a little something something demon fight mode because playing with opacity was fun. Also something something cool guys don't look at explosions (I dunno that's the vibe I get from that pose - cool guys also don't dwell on how bad the job must have gone if you're leaving with no armor and torn up clothes)
Veilguard, Age 61
Normal face vs 'Davrin just launched Assan off his shield and did that little smile. Also Neve just did some badass ice magic. So he's short circuiting now.'
Also I couldn't not try drawing him having the only appropriate response to 'you can pet the griffon.'
And since I found pose references some crappy sketches of the two ways my first playthrough is most likely to go at this point because if other people can draw their romance plans then I can too. These are very bad but they were fun to do. I know it won't happen but at least people will probably have polyamory mods for this game within like two days of release so I can just.... I want to hold them both very softly, okay? Definitely didn't think of Neve's sleepless nights in Streets of Minrathous and feel things. Not at all what do you mean?
Anyway yeah just rambling at this point.
- he's yet another instance of 'much nicer and less intimidating than he might initially look' since apparently that's a thing I love.
- somewhere in the middle of making this I realized he's kind of just 'what if my HoF got a god damn break instead of a blight?' (half joking, there are definitely differences but the vibe is there).
- can't do magic but is very fascinated by it. not dagna level but he'll definitely drop whatever he's doing to hear something new about it. a little wary of blood magic, but even approaches that as 'best to know about it since a lot of people around here are into it, and in theory it's cool and interesting. it might be fine actually if people weren't assholes about it, you know?' (sudden realization he would like merrill if he met her)
- life's a little too chaotic for him to amass an actual collection, but always has some new book on his person. often found curled up with it and a cold forgotten coffee.
- quiet and introverted but largely happy guy at this point. a bit lacking in social graces but he'll figure it out, maybe, more or less
- great cook
- had to hold back tears of joy on finding his first grey hairs because he kind of never thought he'd live long enough to see that
- is okay now just be nice about him forgetting things and don't ask why his eye does That sometimes
- wanted to just fight corruption and bullshit in whatever small ways he could but then he just had to go and fuck up some angsty bald guy's plans so now the veil needs guarding and there's some weird fade stuff happening. at least the fade might be interesting.

when we forget the infection, will we remember the lesson?
Summary: In a tense rescue mission, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Luke infiltrate an Imperial fortress to save Princess Leia. They encounter Keyti, who, despite working for the Empire, helps them escape from Vader, who suddenly goes on a rampage. The group successfully escapes, with the addition of an injured Reva and Keyti. Back in Alderaan, Padmé reveals to Leia and Luke that their father is Anakin Skywalker, now known as Vader. Series: The Flowers Never Bloom Characters: Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, Reva Sevander, Original Sith Character, Original Imperial Character Warnings: graphic depictions of violence, minor character death, blood, slight gore Ships: Anidala Word Count: 8.2k words A/N: holy shit, a back to back post ?! you could say the plot infected my brain at this point. however, it's no surprise, i love zomboi ... look at that word count ... again, i'm not the best with action, so apologies for a bulk of this chapter literally being hell in a hand-basket for Leia. (she'll be fine tho, shhhhh) also, again to fill in gaps and stuff, i'm slapping my OCs in because i can and it's my fic, i can do what i want. Amara and Keyti are only two of many, but we'll see if i have use for my other ones. i hope they're received well. read here on ao3
5 BBY
"Luke, please, come back. Itâs not safe!â Padmeâs voice carried on the wind quickly, and the blond popped his head up and replied,â Coming, Mom!â Even if Leia had been the one to lure the two of them out, he was more than willing to hide the discovery from their mother. Once again, they had found the gory remnants of a corpse from a few infected lurking on the edge of the Alderaanian capitol. If she found out, then they would have had to probably relocate again until it was safe again, and they were both finally happy about settling down in one place again.
Leia was hidden behind an enormous, moss-covered, bolder, crouching while she carefully used a stick to observe the decay from the insects, head tilting as she made a soft sound of confusion. âIt looks like it isnât breaking down like it should⊠Thatâs weird.â
âC'mon, we have to go back. Mom might come over if we donât ⊠she doesnât want us out so close to the edge.â Luke lifted a hand to shield his eyes from the sun, watching as PadmĂ© motioned him closer. Looking up at her brother, Leia frowned,â Fine. Only because she wouldnât want us to see.â As if it were the fifteen-year-oldâs first corpse to witness rotting. âGo distract Mom so I can sneak over without her knowing about the body.â
âSheâs going to know eventually,â Luke said with a sigh, shaking his head before moving to make his way over to PadmĂ©. I hate being a distraction. He made his way through the small wild field and heat, sweat beginning to stick his blond hair to his forehead and neck while he returned to his motherâs side. âSorry, Mom. Thought I saw something out there.â
âLeave the adventuring to the rangers. Itâs still too dangerous with the new spikes of infection.â PadmĂ© smiled softly, brushing his shoulders off while he shrugged, âI would have been okay. Câmon, itâs too hot out.â He motioned to her to the palaceâs entryway, and she opted to go inside first. Luke glanced back to see his sister pop her head up from the boulder before making her way over swiftly through the grass and wild flowers.
Leia soon made her way in, sighing with relief at the feeling of the fans working to cool the palace they had called home. Bail and Breha had been nothing but kind to them, but the twins were beginning to ask questions nowâsome that PadmĂ© didnât want to answer, especially regarding their father. Still, there was only so much she could get away with the older the twins had become, and PadmĂ© was beginning to suspect the time for the truth would come earlier than she would have preferred. Unlike Obi-Wanâs selective omission, she wanted to tell them he was alive, but they had grown up knowing what the Empire had put the planet through. The days were hotter, and more climates became unstable and uninhabitable from the overuse of farming for ore and minerals. She simply didnât know how to explain what had happened to Anakin as she led them to the room where their tutor awaited them to begin their studies for the day.
Even if education was something to keep them distracted, PadmĂ© utilized the free time to figure out her husbandâs whereabouts, significantly after Ahsoka had returned with the news.Â
Rain pounded on the marble and gold of the palace while Alderaan slept, but Padmé was wide awake. It had been four months since Ahsoka had left to locate Vader, and each day that passed only began to wither the little hope Padmé had for her return. She turned from the balcony as her door opened, a limping and bandaged Ahsoka making her way in before the former Senator ran to her side to help her sit down with eyes filling with concern.
âAhsoka? What happened?â Her hand gently held the vitiligo-marked cheek of her husbandâs former apprentice  in worry as exhaustion threatened to crush Ahsokaâs body.
âIt is him, and I barely managed to escape him. He isnât the same, PadmĂ©. I tried to tell him to come with me, to come here, but he refused to accept you were alive ⊠He kept mentioning how heâs reached out to you through the years but has never felt your signature. I donât know whatâs happened with him, but heâs not the Anakin we knew. He nearly killed me.â
Padmeâs heart began to sink. If he was so irrational with Ahsoka, how would he be with her? Shoving that idea away, she only pulled Ahsoka closer. âIâm relieved you made it back. You need to rest, and thank you for going for me. Now, we can prepare a better plan to bring him back.â
âI donât believe we can,â Ahsoka said, welcoming the support, letting her aching body relax while closing her eyes. âHe wonât listen. He cannot be reasoned with this time.â
âOnly because Palpatine has done something to him ⊠rest for now. Okay?â
Shaking the memory from her mind, PadmĂ© continued to her room, entering the ample, luxurious space before she sat at her vanity with her datapad. Getting to the news, like in her usual routine, she began to scan reports for any mention of her husband, but it was as if he was still a ghost â even as Vader. Why would the Emperor keep such a prominent, fear-inducing figure out of the spotlight? There had to be a reason for it; now, she was determined to figure it out herself.
Pausing at the last article, she tapped on the headline: LORD VADER VISITS NEW TREATMENT FACILITY FOR THE INFECTED IN CORUSCANT. She had read it many times before, knowing it virtually by heart, but the press of a Sith Lord paying a bi-annual inspection to a treatment facility for this seemed far beneath him. Unless it was for treatment ⊠or something else entirely. She hit a link to the facilityâs site, offering care for in-house care of loved ones who became infected, her brows furrowing as she looked at the data provided. It seemed to be going well for a facility that still couldnât administer a cure, but there were beginning to be whispers of one being produced. Though currently, those were just rumors. Nothing substantial, but if it was being made ⊠then the Emperor planned to treat the population to gain more land. If that happened, people would be unwilling to part from the âsaviorâ they had desired for so long. Kark. She made notes on paper, not trusting any devices produced after the leaked scandal from the new Senator from Naboo.
After documents from his datapad had been released to help the Rebels, he had suddenly disappeared, but everyone knew what happened. The Empire was not above spying on its citizens and politicians to keep the rigidly enforced order on the planet they had been destroying. If the warnings werenât heeded, one would find a personal invitation to Mustafarâs plains. If that was declined ⊠it was well-known by news footage afterward that you would have better mercy within Fortress Vader than refusing.
âBreaking news now from Naboo, the Senatorâs home has been hit by a horrific attack from the infected as a new wave surges through the planet. Officials in Naboo cite that at least three or four of the Diseased had made their way into the villa before slaughtering the Senator, his wife, his children Paxen, age 9, and Riael, age 3, as well as their newborn. Forensics suggest the Senator tried to defend them, but it was to no avail when his throat was crushed by a substantial amount of force. Officials believe this new wave of the infected could have 15x the strength as the original wave we experienced over fifteen years ago.â While reading off her monitor, the reporter held no fear or emotion, but the nervous tick in her hands told PadmĂ© otherwise. She didnât believe the story she was reading but couldnât indicate it to the audience otherwise. Not if she wanted to keep her job and life.
Pausing at a photo posted on the facilityâs site, she carefully zoomed in on the familiar figure of her husband. The half mask was on, obscuring his nose, mouth, and jaw from easily being identified, but she could still see the hint of the scar on his right eye. His eyes were unreadable, void of emotion, while they seemed to match the lava of Mustafar now. Her heart ached deeply, studying the rough skin and healed gash on his head that she had assumed happened from the plume on Kuat. Under the scarring and changes, she could still see the familiar features she had loved so deeply.
I will bring you home again. I promise, even if itâs the last thing I do.
Chasing Rebels wasnât something that Vader had particularly wanted to be used for, but he brought the best results, which pleased the Emperor. It kept the rebellionâs likelihood at an all-time low and kept him fed and alive. Though, that was the least of his worries. The longer the years had stretched, the more he found it challenging to remember what he had been experiencing. More blackouts in his memory were occurring, and Sidious grew impatient with the lapse in memory.
âI need you to remember so we can appropriately eradicate the hopes of a rebellion,â the Emperor watched his apprentice closely. Vader stayed and knelt down, eyes on the ground in submission, before finally lifting his head.
âI can only remember a battle beginning once again in Geonosis, but then I remember my legion finding me miles from base.âÂ
âThen perhaps itâs time for another medical examination; you often fail to give me details.â The Emperor accused then,â And Iâm beginning to believe that itâs on purpose, my apprentice. Must I remind you what happens when you try to defy my orders?â He enjoyed seeing how the broad frame of his ever-loyal dog tensed, knowing well that the lapse in memory was due to the inhibitor chip. The clones had no memory of it from long ago, but by now, they had been eradicated mainly by Vaderâs insatiable rampage when his chip was engaged. Problems were easily solved while keeping his apprentice in line and unable to overthrow him. A plan so perfect that he nearly wanted to celebrate its success. Yet, he knew better than to prematurely celebrate - especially knowing that the Senator was still alive. Continuing, he feigned concern:â It is nearly time for you to have one anyway to ensure the system is operating as it should and to see how the virus has changed within you. Go to the medical wing and have a droid look at your vitals. We cannot change the world if you cannot be part of it.â
Vader chose ignorance. He always did. Anakin knew for a long time that the Sith were constantly suffering towards each other to achieve that higher power - total control. It kept him alive this long, but he occasionally wondered what it would have been if he hadnât. Would PadmĂ© have survived? If he continued to get caught up in âwhat ifs,â then he wouldnât be able to focus on the present, and that wasnât what was needed. No, now he needed to go to the medical wing as instructed. Moving through the halls of the Senate Office Building, Vaderâs large frame caused the various personnel and Senators to move from his path immediately as his steady, mechanical breathing echoed off the walls. Arriving at the medical wing, he entered the practically empty room as a med-droid greeted his familiar presence. âLord Vader, the Emperor has informed us of a check-up concerning your cognition.â
âI do not have time to waste on foolish testing. Make it quick.â He moved to one of the beds, sitting while the droid came closer to shut the curtain around them.
Scanning over his file, the droid removed the mask carefully, noting the cushioned seal around it was beginning to degrade from constant use. Another test to perform, indeed, if he was using it so much, that could be an issue with his lungs. Then, the Emperor ordered an experiment to improve his memory. However, they had to wait for his arrival for that. Placing the file and mask down, the droid conducted a scan with the sensitive sensors in its eyes, humming softly. âYour cybernetics are due for a needed upgrade, but your lungs and skin are in better health than the previous check-up. Regeneration from the virus aids healing, but utilizing aids is still suggested to accelerate the healing. Your mask shows signs of deterioration on the seal - a replacement is advised. The mask is not crucial to your health unless in harsh environmental conditions such as high altitude or extreme temperatures.âÂ
Yellow eyes stared blankly at the black droid as it moved closer, shining a light into his eyes.â Has your vision improved with the regeneration?â He only gave a slight nod of confirmation, making an irritated sound when the light was shone into the other eye.
âEnough.â
Moving from his eyes, the droid inspected the injury to his cheek, carefully testing the muscle and skin. His teeth needed better care, but all seemed to be in order. Clicking it off, the droid inspected his ears, noting the freshly healed skin from notches around the top and side of both ears. âWhat caused the damage to your helix?â
âSome foolishly brave infected, I surmise, when I was feeding once.â
Carefully inspecting the inner ear, the droid was pleased to see no damage compared to the previous check-up before moving back,â please, remove your armor so I can check on the condition of your skin.â
He only removed the layers enough to expose his chest port and gnarled skin. The droid carefully inspects the portâs controls while Vader sits there, feeling like a trapped sand mouse. Years of constant medical check ins and experiments had begun to test his patience with anything relating to his health. Pausing when the comms lit up, the droid answered it to see the familiar hooded figure of Sidious.
âHow is the health of my apprentice?â
âAcceptable. Vitals are within normal levels. His treatment and regeneration have been aiding in the healing process since the fire fifteen years ago.âÂ
Fifteen years ago ⊠how had the time passed that quickly? Vader began to adjust his armor, already irritated that so much time was wasted when he could have been more useful elsewhere.
The Emperor hummed softly, nodding while thinking momentarily. He couldnât have Vader suspicious of his plans after all,â Lord Vader, I have heard that the Third Sister has captured Leia. Currently, she has ended up in custody in Fortress Inquisitorius in Nur. I want you to personally go and ensure that any information she could know about the Rebellion is obtained. We will have to see how well your cognition holds up after this. However, our cameras will be able to fill in any holes you have in your memory.â
Vader suppressed a displeased groan he wanted to let out at the mention of the Inquisitors. Any time he divulged his time towards the group, it was clear how incompetent they were, which would make his report to the Emperor less than ideal. Still, he stood again after his armor was in order, making his way closer to where the Emperor could see him on the screen,â it will be done. Even if we must persuade her.â Reaching forwards, a gloved hand flicked off the communication before he made his way to the docking port for his departure to Nur. There were more pressing issues for the Empire, but now he must babysit a teenager for Rebellion information?
Leia was trying to remain calm and quiet as she lay on the cold, metal âbedâ (if she even wanted to call it that) in her holding cell. She had concealed Luke from being captured when they began to break into an Imperial office that was stationed in Alderaan, and she was more than sure that he had alerted their mom about her capture. She didnât know anything the Rebellion was doing, but no one would listen. Well, maybe she knew a few bases, but she would rather die than disclose that to anyone else but a Rebel. Even then, all she had to do was survive and eventually be rescued somehow. Besides, she had seen Luke throw a tracking beacon from his "adventure pack" onto the ship once she had been taken. This once, only this once, she would admit that he was right about that stupid bag.
She paused her thinking when the door slid open to show Reva. Her dark eyes narrowed at the teenager while entering as the lights dimly reflected on her black Gundark leather-made uniform. âThis is the âkeyâ of the Rebellion? Sheâs just a child.âÂ
Reva knew, though, not to underestimate even a teenager, and certainly not Leia. However, she hoped that the capture would lead to a negotiation between the Empire and Alderaan, which would lead to the planetâs unification. Moving closer to the brunette, Leiaâs eyes glanced over her,â And youâre too young for an Inquisitor.â
Reva's brow twitched in irritation, pulling a small knife out to press against the Princess's throat," why were you trying to break into the office?"
"I'm not telling you anything while you have a blade to my skin."
Pulling back, the Inquisitor frowned deeply, turning as the door opened to show a corporal.
Amara poked her head in, her voice soft while glancing at Leia. âApologies for the interruption, Third Sister, but communications were just received. Lord Vader is on the way.âÂ
Reva turned to look at her, glancing back at Leia. There is no doubt this is about her. Perhaps she is more useful than I realize. Still, it is better for Lord Vader to deal with the brat. âEstimated arrival?â
âWithin an hour. Heâs coming from Coruscant.â Amara looked to the tablet, her dark brown hair pulled into a tight bun, not a hair displaced, while her honey eyes scanned the information. âAfterwards, I have been reassigned with him to the Gahenn Plains.â
Leia feigned boredom, staring at the ceiling while Reva exited, but she kept listening to them until the door closed, preventing her from eavesdropping. She had heard how Ahsoka had been searching for Vader and returned injured, but if they knew where he would be ⊠then that was a different story. All she had to do was escape ⊠somehow.Â
Reva walked through the cellblock, arms behind her, as she considered the news from Corporal Berklau. âPerhaps a promotion is in your future if youâre being relocated to Vaderâs home.â
âI refuse to get my hopes up, but Iâve heard I will not be the only one venturing to Mustafar permanently. Lady Keyti is coming along as well.â
Bristling, Reva suppressed her anger while glancing over to the Corporal,â She is?â That lying piece of bantha fodder.
âYes, Lord Vader told her after speaking with me. I think it could be good for her. Sheâs restless, not having a place to call home. Sho-Torun certainly hasnât been welcoming either for her aristocratic duties.â
âI do not understand what he sees in her. She follows him around like a lost hound, and her duties are rarely fulfilled.âÂ
âShe is skilled with lightsabers,â Amara pointed out,â as well as social situations ⊠something that can be utilized. As for her title, she's had many attempts on her life. Regardless, do you have a plan for the princess, though?â She pointed back towards Leiaâs cell, and Reva's gaze turned over her.
âI do, but if Lord Vader is on his way, he may try to extract any information from her. I will go to the medical droids to see if they have any serums I can give to slow her cognition.â
âIf you wait until heâs arrived, it will only irritate him,â the Corporal suggested, pausing while facing the Inquisitor more. âThe serum should be the last resort, as should any bodily harm. If anything is done to her, it may cause further sparks of Rebellion and Alderaanâs continued refusal to join the Empire.â
Revaâs brows raised blankly at Amaraâs suggestion, her arms moving to fold beneath her chest. âIt's bold for you to offer suggestions to me, Corporal Beklau ⊠but you are right this time. If I try to speak with the Princess, she will not turn over any information for her break in.â
âThen perhaps send in Lady Keyti.â Amara saw Revaâs frown deepen before she explained,â She doesnât know her, and Keyti has been able to get information out of some people in alliance with the Rebellion. She may be able to get something from her.â
âShe will have thirty minutes to try to get anything and will report to Lord Vader upon his arrival.â The Inquisitor said sharply, making her way to locate the Grand Inquisitor as she left Amara behind while her boots clicked on the floor.
Amara gave a slight nod, suppressing a triumphant smile. âOf course, I will find you when the time is up.â Moving towards the training rooms, she suppressed her momentary excitement, knowing how pleased Keyti would be to be included in the little project, especially since Lord Vader was coming.
Getting into the ample space, she watched as the vitiligo-marked warrior slashed her sabers through training droids, graceful as if it were a dance. Her black and white twists were bundled up into a large bun, and for once, her jewelry wasnât on while she trained. Sweat glistened on her skin, and once catching sight of Amara, she paused while her curiosity piqued. Switching the red blades off, she secured them onto her belt, making her way closer,â canât be good news if youâve come.â
âNo, for once, it is good, my Lady. Lord Vader is coming and will be here in ⊠forty-five minutes,â she said while checking her watch as Keytiâs yellowed eyes widened with the news.
âHe is, hmm? Well, I guess thatâs enough time to freshen up.â
âNormally, but we have a new prisoner - Princess Leia from Alderaan. Reva has requested thirty minutes to see if you can obtain information before his arrival.â
Keyti frowned, hands resting on her waist,â Of course, she has ⊠Very well, Iâll just have to towel off then.â
âI donât think that would matter. Iâll take you to Leiaâs cell,â Amara paused to straighten out her jacket, and Keyti only groaned, causing her to look back up.
âIf he comments about how sweaty I am, Iâm going to kill Reva,â moving to the side, Keyti got a towel dampened by a water fountain briefly before beginning to wipe her skin down in annoyance over the tattoos she had gotten to show her devotion to the Sith. While she wasnât official due to the Rule of Two, she was valuable to the Empire, which could not be ignored. A warrior of her own strength, even if she didnât have a strong connection with the Force that impressed Vader more often than he wanted to admit. âDo we know anything about this Princess?â
âShe was caught breaking into an Imperial station in Alderaan. She is the daughter of Bail and Breha Organa, so there is leverage in our favor. Part of why I believe she was brought here. If we go about this wrong, then Alderaanâs acceptance to join the Empire will be eliminated. We need their resources and technology to continue our usual operations within the East.â
Nodding, Keyti hummed softly, thinking,â Itâs a delicate situation. Though, I am also sure that the Organas will be doing everything in their power to get her back to them ⊠perhaps we can utilize that more than we know.â Tossing the towel into the bin for laundry, she came closer while looking down to her friend,â Lead the way, Corporal.â
Amara straightened up, nodding while leaving the training area to lead Keyti back to the cell. âNot much is known about the Princess herself. She makes public appearances, but she hardly has done diplomatic things. Itâs almost like she barely exists. However, we confiscated a blaster and comlink while trying to sneak into an Imperial office.â
âPerhaps thatâs something to look into then. Iâm sure Leiaâs existence has been mostly hidden for a reason,â Keyti frowned a moment, following her as their steps echoed off the obsidian walls. She glanced out of the large windows, watching the dark, murky waters while various aquatic animals swam by. âI can retrieve something useful before Lord Vaderâs arrival.â Hopefully.
Though she knew it was possible she may come up empty-handed, she could only hope that he wouldnât be angered by it. Once the door had opened again, Keyti saw Leia standing on the uncovered bed, brow arching as the teenager tried to pry the panel to the vents before stopping when realizing she wasn't alone.Â
Turning, Leia watched her, curious to see her tattoos, while the warrior entered the cell, shutting the door behind herself again. âPrincess.â She dipped her head slightly in respect before making eye contact with her. âI have a few questions I would like you to answer.â
Leia lifted her head, thin brows furrowing as she glanced over while settling back onto the cold metal. âI wonât tell you anything, I have nothing to tell.â
Moving closer, Keyti let out a slow, soft hum,â If you have nothing to tell, then why would you say you wonât tell me anything? Regardless, Princess, I want to know one thing. Why is a child like you carrying a blaster on your hip?â
âThe world is cruel, and a girl needs to protect herself from it,â Leia said simply as Keyti nodded momentarily.Â
âYes, the world is cruel, especially to little girls, but not much can be protected for those girls who willingly try to break into an office, especially an Imperial one. With this comes my second question: What was so important about breaking into the office? Do not bother to lie about it either, Princess; we have you recorded in your attempt.â
âI wanted to see reports over friends of mine that had gone missing,â she lied, spilling from her lips as she kept her gaze steady upon Keyti. âMany of them have vanished when they havenât been infected. I do not believe that is a crime punishable enough for kidnapping.âÂ
âNo, it isnât, but youâre useful to my boss. What do you know of Lord Vader?âÂ
Leiaâs blood turned cold then, like the familiar haunting cold that threatened the nape of her neck, causing the hairs to stand on end. Of course, he would be on his way. âWhy is he wasting his time with something beneath him? Iâm sure the Emperorâs right hand has more important things than a fifteen-year-old ⊠I hope he would.âÂ
Keyti let out a soft laugh, then said,â Yes, he does, but he has his motives and ordersâfor the Empire. Only the Empire.â Her features grew solemn as her yellowed eyes met Leiaâs brown. âNothing more.â Nothing disgraceful. Â
The Princess still couldnât shake the building fear, eyes narrowing while she watched her. âThe Empire feeds into various criminal activities. Forgive me if I do not trust what youâre saying.âÂ
âI donât agree with it either, but Lord Vader has no interest in them. He will arrive soon, and if you answer my questions, you wonât have to face him. You just need to be honest, Princess Leia.â
Luke had immediately gotten Obi-Wan and Ahsoka on a rescue mission after Bail and Breha were updated to what had happened, and he may or may not have stowaway on the Imperial ship that Ahsoka and Obi-Wan stole before landing. The codes gave them entryway, and Imperial uniforms helped them to blend in, carefully making their way through the dark halls to locate the holding cells. Following at a distance, Luke ducked behind some crates as droids moved past, silent as he watched Obi-Wan and Ahsoka having to seperate before making his way carefully through the halls. Blue eyes widened as he saw Keyti exit when her allotted time was up while a smug Reva walked with her at the lack of key information given by the aristocrat. Though, Keyti was smarter than that, and she would only divulge it to Vader, after all. Reva didnât need to know what she had been told by the Princess.
The door shut behind them as Luke stayed hidden, slowing his breath as the two walked down the hall and away from the cells. She has to be in there. He reached out in the Force, calling for his sister.Â
Confused by the interaction with Keyti, Leia straightened when she sensed the familiar prodding from her brother. Do not tell me youâre here.
You needed help. Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are here too.
Alarm surged through Leiaâs body, eyes widening as she moved closer to the door to peek out the window to see her brother soon spotting her. Shaking her head, she looked around as the Force suddenly shifted as a cold, dark presence began to haunt the edges of Lukeâs familiar warmth.
Leave. Now, Vader is coming, and itâs not safe. You need to find Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.
Moving to the door, Luke looked over the controls as he ignore her warning, glancing around while trying to fiddle with it and try to trick it into unlocking. He jumped when he heard Obi-Wan say his name, looking up with widened eyes as the Jedi suppressed a sigh at realizing Luke had followed them while making his way closer. He peered at Leia through the window, and knew that they only  had a limited amount of time while Ahsoka disabled the alarms.
âOkay, Obi-Wan, it should be disengaged now, but I just heard on the com I stole that Vaderâs arrived.âÂ
Lifting the comlink up, he spoke quietly,â then letâs not linger for longer than we must. Make your way to the holding cells.â He moved Luke back while he ignited his lightsaber, plunging the blue blade into the controls which short circuited the system, causing the door to open.Â
Leia immediately moved out, clinging onto Luke tightly as she looked up to Obi-Wan,â we need to leave now.â Her gaze lifted as the lights started to flicker throughout the fortress, holding onto Lukeâs arm tighter as he started to put her behind himself.Â
âI have a bad feeling about thisâŠâÂ
âFollow me,â Obi-Wan instructed while turning off his lightsaber for the time being, making his way back the way he had come. Carefully guiding them out of sight of Imperial officers, he kept his saber hid up his sleeve, pausing as he felt the haunting cold beginning to chill the air.
Leia was quiet, eyes wide as she saw Lukeâs exhale before she tested it with her own, feeling the temperature drop before screams and shouts echoed through the halls.
Keyti was trying to run through the chaos, protecting herself from Vader, who had begun a rampage shortly after sensing someone had infiltrated the Fortress. She watched in horror as he crushed the head of a sergeant, eyes wide, as he began to make his way towards Reva. The Inquisitor only ignited her lightsabers, standing her ground while her gaze darkened.Â
What the kark had happened to him? Shaking her head, Keyti made her own escape, knowing that, eventually, he would be stable again. Maybe he was just hungry; that usually seemed to happen, but she needed to flee. The lights flickered overhead again while air chilled more through the level, and it wasnât until she saw the four trying to escape that it made sense. Of course, a Jedi would have been alerted to Leia's disappearance.
Leia stiffened when Keyti spotted them, her eyes wide before looking back towards the carnage before she motioned them to go the other way. She may have worked for the Empire and been under Vaderâs orders, but she refused to willingly let anyone die like that. She saw Revaâs body slamming through some storage crates, bolting down the hall when Vader's attention was suddenly turned onto her.Â
Obi-Wan braced himself, igniting his saber as Keyti approached while putting her hands up,â Save it, Jedi. Unless you want to be the next meal, you need to leave. Heâs coming this way.â
Ahsoka put the twins behind herself, eyes narrowing as she glanced Keyti up and down.â How can we trust you?â Her eyes moved past her to see Vaderâs prominent figure at the end of the hall, and the lights flickered and started to shut down along the hall.
Keyti turned to face him, getting her red sabers lit and ready.â You can keep arguing, or you can leave. No one deserves this death. Especially children.â Flowers started to bloom between the cracks in the metal, and Keytiâs eyes searched the darkness for any sign of him as Obi-Wan opted to guide Ahsoka and the twins away.
âGet them out, Ahsoka. I will help her leave. Iâll meet you back in Alderaan.â
Luke and Leia began to immediately protest, but Ahsoka only pushed them through the other end of the hall, glancing back to see Obi-Wan light his saber while standing beside Keyti as the hall went completely black.
âIâm not very strong in the Force,â she warned him, glancing over to him as their blades lit them in a soft purple as she pressed her arm against his better for grounding. âEspecially compared to him.âÂ
âThis has happened before?â
âMany times, and each one is violent and filled with corpses.â
âHe doesnât recognize anyone?â
âNo. At least, not to my knowledge,â she looked down as the flowers crept closer to them, her breath visible as the hair stood up on her neck and arms. âHe may recognize you, though. Whomever you are to him.â
"Unfortunately, that would be a long story we may not live long enough for."
Ahsoka guided the twins through the Fortress, eyes widening at the carnage her former master had left behind. Bones had been crushed as if they were the sweetened Endor nuts she enjoyed, and blood was everywhere. It dripped from the walls and ceiling as she carefully moved Luke away from stepping on a corpse that had been torn open. âCareful.â Luke shook his head,â I donât care about that, look!â He pointed to a stalled ship, looking back to Leia and Ahsoka,â I could get that back online, but Iâm not leaving without Obi-Wan.â
âIf youâre able to do it fast,â she looked back when she heard a shout, brows furrowing as she heard Anakinâs name from Obi-Wan. âGo, hide yourselves on the ship and I will bring him back.â Once she knew they were inside, she ran the way they had come to assist Obi-Wan, unaware that a dazed Reva was beginning to wake as ringing stung in her ears while she sat up slowly.
Skywalker, you karking idiot. Staggering to her feet, she looked around, vision unfocused and double as she saw Ahsoka running towards the hell. It was as if she couldnât escape the ghosts of the Temple, blinking as she staggered across the floor to try to reach the ship.
Leia dragged Luke up into the ship, starting to help him as Ahsoka ran through the halls, skidding to a stop as she saw Keyti and Obi-Wan fighting to keep Vader back.Â
Keyti moved her way in front of the Jedi, using the blade to make him back away while a low, guttural growl escaped his throat. Obi-Wan used the Force to move her away from Vader in time, and then used the energy to leap back a few meters to gain more ground before starting to run.
Reva slowly moved along, head pounding as she lifted a gloved hand to feel at her temple before seeing the bright crimson. Looking up, she made a low sound as Keyti grasped onto her arm after holstering one of her sabers, dragging her along while she stumbled as Vader pursued Obi-Wan before the women. She glanced back, noticing that Obi-Wan seemed to be the main prey to be hunted, brows furrowing at the rage she could feel radiating from the Sith.
His eyes glowed in the dark while fingers dug into the metal, using his strength to close the distance before grabbing onto the Jediâs ankle, yanking him down. Obi-Wan turned, swiftly using the blade to sever the cybernetics in his arms when his former padawan attempted to still drag the Jedi towards himself. Obi-Wan lifted a freed leg, bashing his heel into the side of his face with a wince at the sound that escaped before moving away in the window of opportunity. Stumbling to his feet, he made his way closer to Ahsoka as she motioned him to follow him," I found a ship."
Reva was still dazed as Keyti dragged her along, staggering and tripping on debris with a cry of pain. Vaderâs attention shifted to her with the cry, low chitters escaping his throat as he forced himself upright. Arms or not, he would get his meal as the hunger burned within his belly while his thoughts were mostly simplified like most of the infected experienced. Until he had sensed Obi-Wan's Force signature.
Obi-Wan looked ahead as a ship began to move towards them, Luke grinning excitedly in the cockpit. Ahsoka let out a weak laugh, glancing to Obi-Wan,â Luke got it started up. He really is like his father.âÂ
âWhen his father isnât starved,â Obi-Wan moved back to get Reva and Keyti pushed up the ramp, Leia grabbing onto their arms to pull them into the central area of the cargo ship. Ahsoka used the Force to leap onto it while Obi-Wan glanced back to see Vader still pursuing them while growling as he charged forward after getting himself fully upright. His heart began to break at the sight before he leaped and grabbed onto the edge of the ramp, eyes wide as he grabbed the edge with widened eyes. Ahsoka ran over, fingers digging into his robes to hoist him inside after Leia hit the button to close the ramp, breaths labored as Keyti tended to Revaâs head.
âThank youâŠâ
Ahsoka looked over to her,â You saved us. Now, weâre even.â Moving past them, she shooed Luke away from the controls, and Obi-Wan made his way to the front, voice soft,â At least we escaped.â Glancing back to Reva and Keyti, he looked to Ahsoka,â Get to Fralideja so we can get her medical attention. Keep her awake back there.â Landing further within the Mustafar region may not have been the most brilliant idea for the Jedi. Still, he would risk it if it got Reva the attention she needed immediately.
Keytiâs now blue eyes lifted, looking over to the Jedi with a nod as she worked on doing what she could for the Inquisitor. After she ensured Reva was in good care, she would make her way back towards Nur, then she could pull the footage herself before others did.Â
PadmĂ© paced anxiously around her room, glancing to the clock as she bit her lower lip. They should be back by now. Where are my children? Where is Obi-Wan and Ahsoka? Her head lifted as Breha knocked softly on the door,â we just recieved communication from Obi-Wan, they will be landing in ten minutes. Luke and Leia are safe.â Relief washed over her as she let out a soft cry of joy, thank the heavens.
Breha came over, softly rubbing her back as she reassured her. âObi-Wan said he must speak with you, though ⊠about Anakin.âÂ
âIs he dead?â Her head lifted, watery eyes widening,â spare me the moments of questioning.â
âNo, he isnât dead ⊠but he is the one that attacked everyone ⊠Imperial or Rebel.â
âHeâs infected, itâs a cognitive failure, but I know there is still good in him, Breha.â Her voice was shaky as she sat on the ottoman, hands beginning to tremble as she carefully wiped her face. âIâm happy theyâre alive.â
Once it was close to landing, Padmé made her way out to the docking area, never more relieved to see an Imperial cargo ship than that moment.
Obi-Wan carefully got it landed, glancing over to Ahsoka,â at least we have a warm welcome.â
âShe would throw a celebration if she could,â she got herself unbuckled, getting the ramp set back down which only caused the twins to zoom out immediately to their mother when they could. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan exited, still shaken by the encounter, yet there was still something that haunted Ahsoka. Why had Vader hesitated within the hall when Keyti and Obi-Wan stood up to him?
Robes glided over the carnage as Sidious made his way through the Fortress, quiet when he finally came upon his apprentice blacked out on the floor near a bloated corpse. Yellowed eyes scanned around, taking stock of the dozens of mutilated Imperial personnel before he harshly kicked at Vaderâs leg. Waking with a start, eyes snapped open with a low, animalistic growl before eyes lifted up to his Master before he stopped. His mind was foggy, lagging as he used the Force to get himself upright once again.
âI see once again this has ended in failure, my apprentice. The Princess has escaped.â
âIt happened again,â his eyes closed as his head ached from the exertion, the Fortress eerily silent now as he made a low sound in his throat at the pain in his skull.
âCome. I have plans for Alderaan. We will launch an invasion to secure the resources and begin to unite more of the countries under the Empire.â
Vader got to his feet carefully, inspecting the damage to the cybernetics to see the evenly cut metal. His brow muscles furrowed as the Emperor motioned to his own ship. âWe will return you to Mustafar. Perhaps meditation and repairs will help you remember what had happened.â
Hiding a grimace, Vader silently made his way into the dark ship, ignoring the crimson guards while getting himself seated to the side. His body ached, and his memory was black again, unable to remember past landing to meet with Keyti about the Princess. Momentarily, he hoped that she was able to escape the carnage. Shoving it aside, he began to place himself into a meditative state for the time being while the ship started its way to the lava-laden plains of Mustafarâs expansive region towards the Gahenn Plains.Â
The Force had hinted at what had happened, soft whispers, but it was still vague shapes and memories trying to desperately come together. The hall had grown cold in his rampage, flowers creeping along the floor and walls before withering as he stepped closer to three lights. No, lightsabers. Two red, one blue. Obi-Wanâs Force signature had been burned into his memory from the previous years, and there was no doubt that he had been there this time. Most likely to rescue the Princess, Ahsokaâs pain burned in her signature upon seeing what her former Master had become.
His eyes opened again, and he stared ahead at the various mechanics in the wall as he could feel the shifting in the ship once the landing sequence was initialized. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan. She had found her way back, but why she was helping with the Princess was another mysteryâone he certainly wanted to uncover himself. The Princess had to be more than what she was for both of them to defend her so willingly, even when the odds were against them.Â
Upon their arrival at his castle, Vaderâs cybernetics were removed before he was placed into a bacta tank, silent as he closed his eyes while floating. Reaching out through the Force, he found Keyti, and he was momentarily surprised to see glimpses of her at Fortress Inquisitorus once again as she responded.
Youâre back, My Lord. Are you harmed?
What are you doing at the fortress? He ignored her worry, brows furrowing as the pain in his head started to ebb away.
Reviewing security footage of your latest attack. Settling down on the chair, Keytiâs brows furrowed as she noticed the Emperorâs ship returning to the docking bay on a monitor. With no time to spare, she started to download the footage onto a drive. She knew there wasnât enough time to destroy the cameras or the footage afterward, but at least Vader would see the truth.
Vader sensed her sudden unease and fear, and he prodded, appreciating the footage?
No, your Master is here. Iâm downloading the data before making my way to Mustafar as designated.
He will notify me of the events. There is no reason for you to steal the footage.
This is my second time seeing this happen, and after the first time, there were few answers after you met with him. Forgive me if I do not trust him. The system signaled the download was complete, and Keyti tore the drive from the port, tucking it into her chest binding before making her way out.
As he is the Emperor, your loyalty to him should not waiver, the warning came from Vader, but Keyti knew better. She knew far better than she could explain now as she slunk through the halls, carefully overstepping corpses of various personnel and Inquisitors. She paused when she heard the familiar voice of the Emperor, knowing well that she wasnât skilled enough to hide herself within the force as she staggered out.
âYour Majesty, it isnât safe here,â she feigned pain before leaning on some cargo crates, the Emperor watching her closely for a moment.
âOh ... I have not seen you in a long time, my child. You were here during the attack?â
He motioned a guard to help her, and the crimson-clad shape moved closer, supporting her up while she nodded. âI was. I barely managed to hide in time, and I know a few others were able to leave. I know my assignment was to go to Fortress Vader, and I am ready to continue that assignment.â
She gave a soft bow of her head of respect to the Emperor who only hummed softly,â good. If you believe you can carry your duties on after surviving this horrific attack, then perhaps you are more useful than I realized. Come, we will go to Vader now.âÂ
Worry only began to pool in PadmĂ©âs belly as the twins gave their account of what had happened, but Leia shook her head at Ahsokaâs distrust of Keyti. âIf she didnât want to help, she wouldnât have. She knew that something was wrong with Vader, and she willingly chose to save everyone.â Looking up to her mother, her brows furrowed,â she left herself behind to get the Inquisitor medical aid, but mentioned something about returning to Vader.âÂ
PadmĂ© glanced between Ahsoka and Obi-Wan, settling back in her chair,â people donât save others without reason. Do we know her name?â
Obi-Wan shook his head,â no, and we didnât tell her ours, but of course, she knew who Leia was.â
Luke spoke up then, glancing between the adults,â her name is Keyti. Reva is the Inquisitor. They both said their name at some point during the journey to Fralideja and when Reva was getting off of the ramp.â
Looking to Luke, Leia gave a smug grin at his observations while he offhandedly mentioned,â Keytiâs eyes were originally yellow, but when she was leaving, they were bright blue.â
PadmĂ© gave a soft hum of thought,â did you hear anything else? Either of you?â
âVader frequents the Gahenn Plains,â Leia spoke up then,â another Imperial had mentioned she was assigned to there.â
PadmĂ©, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan exchanged a look then, while PadmĂ© only wanted to make her way to the fortress and drag her husband back with her. She knew that she couldnât, not when the Emperor would be there to undoubtledly check on his apprenticeâs health. Taking a slow breath, she nodded,â good work, the both of you.â
âWhy is Vader so important, Mom?â Luke asked then, brows furrowed as he glanced to his sister momentarily as Padmeâs shoulders fell. She couldnât keep it hidden from them anymore, not when they encountered him directly and could understand why they are in hiding.
âHeâs your father. Thatâs why Iâve been wanting to keep updated on his wherabouts, and eventually try to bring him home.â
Leia frowned,â you said our father died.â
âI did, because I didnât know how to explain it to four year olds,â PadmĂ© gave a weakened smile,â but now you know the truth. Iâm sorry for keeping it from you for so long.â
âSo, Vader really is our dad," Luke trailed off, looking between his mother and Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan nodded momentarily as he straightened up,â before he turned to the dark side after becoming infected. What happened is for him to explain once we bring him back.â Looking up to PadmĂ©, his voice grew quieter,â if we even can.â
âThere is still good in him, Obi-Wan. Heâs reached out to me. I know heâs still there.â She said softly as Ahsoka only watched the twins begin to process the new information.
Ahsoka looked up to her then, voice weak," I don't know if we can, Padmé. He hasn't responded well to being near Obi-Wan, and he nearly killed me."
"He hasn't seen that I'm alive. That might change everything."

AHSOKA EP. 1 RECAP
hi! so Iâve been like, totally MIA, super busy, avoiding Tumblr at ALL COSTS so I could avoid Ahsoka spoilers until I watched it. and now I am BACK and HERE and I want to share my THOUGHTS so get ready, spoilers for Ahsoka episode 1 under the cut
1. I LOVE SHIN HATI SO MUCH!!!!
you all know I love a darksider and that I also love a HOT darksider and now we have one who is a WOMAN and not a weird alien woman but like an actual badass hot chick who has the dark side EMANATING out of her eyes (I also very much love badass Reva who is hot but not *spoiler* truly a darksider). and Shin Hati is also a PADAWAN and she has a PADAWAN BRAID Iâm dying, dark padawan energy? Shin HOTTY am I right (I want to dress as her for Halloween so bad)
2. Iâm not sure why they made Sabine into this Padawan character đ Iâm sorry but it just doesnât make sense for her to learn the ways of the force!! there are literally lines in rebels about how she doesnât use/âhaveâ the force.
and like, I understand that thereâs a lot of story we missed between her and Ahsoka in terms of what happened after the end of rebels and before now. but it doesnât make sense for her to learn/want to learn to be a jedi. sheâs mandalorian! the scene where she surpasses her mandalorian helmet in favor of her lightsaber? I donât get it. I absolutely love Natasha Liuâs performance though. she captures Sabineâs essence very well. Maybe I will come around on this whole jedi thing when I watch the next few episodes. I also donât get why Ahsoka would want to teach her to be a jedi? what happened to âI am no Jediâ??
3. I loved loved LOVED seeing Lothal in live action. So good!! I love how prominent of a storyline Ezra is, from the very beginning. I love that this is a continuation of Ezraâs story. and I LOVE THE LOTH CAT I cried when I saw him (if he got hurt in that battle I will sue)
4. I donât really understand the aesthetic choices made in the graphic design/the end credits. Theyâre leaning into this weird ancient/nordic vibe and it makes no sense for Star Wars. I get every show is going to have its own aesthetic but the ancient EUROPEAN?? vibe is literally the antithesis of the original star wars aesthetic and it seems Jon Favreau-y, Marvel-y to me (like itâs okay for them all to share some basic design rules okay?!)
5. on the flip side, I like the soundtrack! itâs definitely different aesthetically but I like how it sort of leans into the epic fantasy vibe. Iâm into it.
6. As much as I think Rosario and MEW are doing an excellent job portraying Ahsoka and Hera, I donât love the costume/character design. the contacts are weird and idk I just feel like itâs such a big budget show and they could have done better!! but I can get over this.
okay those are all of my current and immediate reactions! overall I am very excited and I canât wait to see where this goes and even when I post things I didnât love/choices I didnât understand, I want to make it clear that it is not hate on this show! I am very grateful it exists and excited to see where it takes us. These are just my absolutely unfiltered thoughts. Please comment if you agree/disagree. See you after I watch episode 2!!

Obi-Wan Kenobi rewatch
Part I
Okay the recap does slap
Order 66 has become the Wayne parents death of star wars lmao
But I love how fiercely protective the Jedi are of the younglings
they did the Grand Inquisitor so dirty I can't--at least give him the teeth!!
the Jedi speech is so good but it does nothing but paint Jedi in a good light lmao
Reva's character and motives are a wreck, true, but she's acted so well I have to stan
I do love how we see the monotony of Obi-Wan's new life, especially considering all we see him go through in clone wars
it reminds me a lot of the slavers arc in tcw actually
Luke has always been cheeky and we need to appreciate that
The whole Organa household is chaotic, including the handmaidens
There's a star wars comic where Obi-Wan tries to give the Lars' things and Owen rejects them. I like to think Obi-Wan does this frequently
I know its weird that Owen and Beru kept Luke's last name but I guess the easiest justification is that it's to honour Anakin
Reva is so much I love her
I would die for Bail Organa he is everything to me
THREEPIO CAMEO
Purrgil name drop
'This is your future' oh Bail you have no idea
This episode is dragging on too long

what's your opinion on the Kenobi show? I really liked it :) although I wish it had a bigger budget
oof omg this question đ
so i watched like half of it when it aired, and then i took a 2 month pause on it because i was traveling over the summer, and where i went, disney+ wasnât available. once i got back, i watched the rest of the episodes without thinking too much on the show itself.
i thought it was okay. there wasnât a big âwowâ factor for me, but i did love the expansion on obi-wan after what happened in rots. i loved how it focused on leia rather than luke also, but i thought it was super interesting on how the show handled how ben was an influence on the twinsâ life while growing up.
i think the plotline IDEA was very good but it wasnât executed super amazingly. still good, just not a âwowâ type of execution. i think budgeting was definitely an influence as well. felt pretty low-key and if iâm gonna be honest, i feel like i could recreate the show myself.
the characters were kinda random. i liked reva and i didnât realize she was a jedi youngling until it was said directly. i usually have a knack for predicting things but ig that two month pause got me a little slow lmao. once it was revealed that she was a youngling, it was kinda like âumm⊠okay?? so?? so sheâs just some random ass jedi youngling whoâs mad at vader?â and it felt like reva wasnât done as well as she couldâve been. iâm not saying it felt rushed but i felt like they couldâve expanded more on reva and who she was, because i definitely felt a disconnect with her character because we barely knew who she was. i think sheâs a very interesting character and i wish we got more expansion on her and her fall to the dark side.
dk abt that one con guy. he was weird. random. he was fine ig but he was just kinda⊠there. like some random ass con guy. ok cool.
i liked the scene where obi-wan was like âdo what she saysâ or whatever abt leia when they were with the rebel base (was it a rebel base? donât remember). i thought it was cute and it felt really good that obi-wan was actually listening to leia and giving her what she needs instead of discarding her bc sheâs a child.
now the whole âyou didnât kill anakin skywalker. i didâ like WOWWW now THAT was the âwowâ factor i was looking for. vader giving obi-wan that kind of confirmation and relief that obi-wan wasnât the one who failed⊠like woah. omg. that was good. that whole scene and the build up and just EVERYTHING like that was awesome. loved it.
overall the show was good, but i felt disconnected from it often. the scene with vader and obi-wan was amazing but it didnât make up for the rest of the show.
thank you for the ask! sorry this ended out really long. i just have a lot of opinions and feelings about this show. lmk your thoughts!!

Your thoughts each on: the sequel trilogy, mandalorian, book of bobba fett and kenobi shows?
Iâll keep it brief because Iâm tired but:
Sequel Trilogy: Enjoyed TFA, loved TLJ, hated TROS. The fandom and just overall negativity makes me feel indifferent to it now. I couldnât care less if the era and itâs characters are revisited.
The Mandalorian: A great start to live action Star Wars TV, but Iâm getting tired of the âcameosâ and how predictable it can be sometimes. Now we have other SW shows, I donât get as excited about it as I used to. But Iâm always happy to see that weird baby Grogu.
TBOBF: Can you believe that came out this year? It feels like a million years ago and I can barely remember what happened in it. Loved the stuff with the Tuskens, but hate how it basically became Mando season 2.5 in the end. This ties into my thoughts on Mando, but Iâm really not feeling Favreau and Filoniâs MCU-ified version of Star Wars. Theyâre pumping out all these shows that are supposed to be interconnected and I just donât care anymore.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Enjoyable but couldâve been so much better. Shouldâve been a feature film instead of a series. Hate how cheap it looked . That said, Leia being the reason Obi-Wan leaves Tatooine was great and I loved their dynamic so much. Wish theyâd focused more on Reva and just cut out the other Inquisitors, they were unnecessary (and looked awful).

gotta love how they showed obi-wan besting anakin without a lightsaber and then vader doing the same with reva, stopping her strikes with the force. poetry.

random thought but my favourite headcanon is anakin and obi-wan needing each other's touch to function properly because it's their greatest source of comfort.
it's visceral. the force itself makes them crave it desperately. it can be something as simple as a hand on the shoulder or fingers brushing against one another as they walk side by side.
and when they spend many months separated and they come back, they go M.I.A for a day or two because they just need to be together, sleeping and cuddling, and it does wonders for their health both mental and physical because don't you just love some good old codependecy (or dyadism, because that's amazing too)

oc asks for nessa: birth, kiss, enemy, ocean <3
answers this one million years late- lmao some of these were giving me trouble but i got there đ questions from here
BIRTH: What was your OC's first experience with birth? A sibling, a pet, their own child?
Honestly, she probably had another first experience with birth, given the nature of Dalish clansâprobably was aware of someone giving birth, at least, although as a hunter she may not have been called upon to assistâbut⊠giving birth to her own child was more important, so Iâm going to focus on that instead.
I think it was very, very weird for her.
Solas was there by then, but things were still strained between them. They were together, trying to make peace with everything, and he was committed to her and the child, but neither of them had really dealt with any of their baggage. The pregnancy kept pushing everything else to the background. If she got argumentative, heâd begin getting argumentative back before heâd just deflate and apologize. Like there was no real ability to talk anything through. So there was still a lot of underlying relationship stress during the birth.
But he was at her side the whole time, and that helped. Magic and herbalism helped her with the pain of it, and I think it was fairly easy, as far as giving birth can be easyâit wasnât one of those where the labor is like 10+ hours. But it was very bittersweet for her, for although she was excited about the child and had grown to like the idea of having a family with Solas, she had never seen herself as a mother and felt entirely out of her depth. Then there was the absence of Dalish customs.
While she may never have imagined herself as a mother, if she had, she would have been a Dalish mother. Her clan would have helped her prepare and guided her through the birth. Her child would have been welcomed by the entire clan. They both would have been cared for by their people.
Instead she was giving birth among humans, among Andrastians, and didnât know the customs herself enough to even emulate some of them. In a way, she feels like sheâs betrayed her child, that something was missing from the birth, some important aspect that she canât know or understand.
But Nessa named her daughter Revas, freedom, and although her own faith had been shattered, she whispered the names of the Creators to their daughter and asked for their protection. The words felt wrong on her tongue, but to say nothing felt worse. She wanted her child to be Dalish.
KISS: What was your OC's first kiss like? Who was it with? Do they remember it?
Hmmm!!! Interesting. I gotta imagine it would be with a member of her clan. She's had crushes on clan members before, and I feel like she'd be the type to kiss someone out of mutual curiosity when they're both quite young. Having a big flustered puppy love crush and confession and awkward first kiss kinda moment. She does remember it, with a slightly embarrassed fondness lmao
ENEMY: Who was your OC's first enemy? What was that relationship like? Do they still consider that person an enemy, or have they moved past that?
The first time humans attacked Clan Lavellan and she was old enough to fight instead of being taken away into the wilderness until the fighting was over, those were her enemies. She developed a pretty extreme reaction to seeing humans after that, although it eased over time and with her clanâs dealings with humanity, but she still remembers the faces of those first humans she fought. It was also the first time she'd fought against peopleâhunting animals was different, although the skills she'd developed there did help her in combat with the humans.
OCEAN: When was the first time your OC saw the ocean? How did it make them feel? If they've never seen the ocean, do they want to?
I suspect she first saw the ocean with the Inquisitionâher clan traveled ofc, but coastal ranges were distant and tricky because they were often populated, so imo a lot of Dalish would avoid them. Clan Lavellan did tend to travel along rivers and spend parts of the year by other bodies of water as possible though, given the opportunity to fish and gather materials only found there.
