Hi! I got supper busy! and by busy I mean injured.

totally unrelated but I have just been laying around distracting myself so now I have decided to once again draw a cast line up. All the martial gods for now, since I got to tweaking up the QYZ and YY one I'd already done and redoing my awfully huge poster thing I started like 4 years ago now. Doing it this way is more fulfilling to me, maybe one day I'll return to it but not now.

oops I made more. This is part 2 of many?? I really like their friendship and think they have a neat dynamic.

This is a little comic that takes place right after the ending of ISAT, while Dormont is partying. I kind of imagine that Sif thinks the party is a Sensory Nightmare and sneaks out, Odile notices, and decides to sit with him.

I like to think she would try and spend more time quietly with Siffrin after what happened in the game to get them used to the idea of someone taking up space with them and that being okay.

This is like? Vaguely spoilers but I'm mostly planning to talk about them being Sad without mentioning anything specifically that happened in the game. Still tagging spoilers just to be safe =)

WYB: i’ve always wanted to do the work that i love but it seems like i have already achieved that. i’ve always been doing the work i enjoy.

CE: does that include the painful movie you just finished?

WYB: yes, i think the result will be very good. but the filming process was painful. actually during this period of filming i was thinking a lot of actors say they find the filming process enjoyable. but i kept thinking what’s enjoyable about being an actor? but in the end i really liked it. i felt like i had a movie like this, played a character like this. it gave me a sense of fulfillment but the process was truly painful.

CE: at this stage are you facing any predicament?

WYB: i think i have a direction but it’s not as clear as when i was a kid. when i was young my dream was to be a singer and once that was achieved, it felt like there wasn’t a second dream. now i want to be a great actor but it doesn’t feel like a dream.

CE: can we understand it this way, becoming a singer was a more concrete goal, while an actor can take on different forms. you may still clarify what kind of actor you want to be after this stage.

WYB: i think it’s something i need to figure out slowly.

Do you have anything you've been thinking on but just haven't made a post about it yet? Also I'm really enjoying your fic!

I have a few things but it's likely mostly headcanons that I consider somewhat disconnected from my analysis.

Curly's parents had him old, only child, died shortly after he graduated and got the pony express position. It was the last big thing they saw him do which is a reason he stayed for so long.

Doesn't admit how much their death affected him

Jimmy has a largish family. One of the cases of too many kids to keep tract of, parent never really noticed any of them nor their behaviors

Anya lived in a lot of houses growing up, regular supportive family that just struggled to support themselves.

Became a nurse largely to avoid their financial struggles but mostly because she felt too many people weren't being cared for and advocated for in the world properly

Swansea likes high top sneakers most. Likes how snug they fit and how they shield his ankles at work

Curly has a bit of a caffeine problem since he can’t sleep. Can occasionally be found wandering the ship at “night” when he had some too late or just couldn’t sleep.

Daisuke knows a little about a lot of things. Starts conversations with “did you know” a lot but please don’t ask him deeper questions

Curly has known Jimmy longer but has worked with Anya and Swansea longer, met them during his middle years, met Jimmy shortly before college.

Swansea rents a house, Daisuke’s family lives in a big nice apartment, Curly has a condo, Anya live in a small one bedroom apartment and Jimmy has a studio.

Curly's home is very disconcerting. It's too normal to a like uncanny degree.

Anya is ambidextrous but prefers her left.

Anya and Curly are both not native English speakers so occasionally they forget words and bond over the mutual mocking they get from the rest of the crew. Daisuke knows some Japanese but is still learning, never picked it up as a kid

Only Swansea and Daisuke know how to drive, Earth in my mind is very post capitalist so only older people and like the extremely wealthy can afford cars.

It's also like walkable just due to how many businesses are in your face. Probably strict living vs shopping districts

I have more but the way that I headcanon about them is like too long.

I have all of these extended thoughts on my head about the amazing way themes and character relationships are handled in Iruma-kun and the inclusion of queerness and the handling of the coming of age narrative in this shonen manga/anime

And every time all that comes out when I'm reccing it is "You should watch/read it"

thinking about gorgug and the thistlesprings. thinking about how wilma & digby have gone their whole life trying to raise gorgug as a sweet, non-violent kind if guy. how they were so fixated to prove their families wrong that they didn't realise it wasn't healthy for their son. that they've been loving gorgug despite his rage for so long that they haven't even considered to love him with it, because of it.

thinking about lydia barkrock who's been continuously raging for 20 years, and how her rage is so special and noble. thinking about ragh who's grown up with a barbarian half-orc parent. the fact that despite all he's been through, he was never ashamed of his rage.

thinking about autistic gorgug, who's been masking his rage for all his life, being in porter's class where he's told that if he isn't boiling angry all the time he's useless. how he sees all the kids around him having no issue engaging with their rage. if he ever thinks, "why am i the only person who is struggling with this?" or "fig's not even a barbarian why can she do it and i still can't fucking get it?" or "what does everybody want from me and can they just please fucking agree instead of pulling me in 5 different directions at once all of the time??"

wondering if gorgug ever sees the barkrocks together and feels that quiet jealousy bubbling. if he reprimands himself instantly because it's not fair and ragh deserves this and his own parents aren't bad people, they're just.. different. maybe a little too wrapped up in their families' prejudice to allow them to be even the littlest bit of right.

thinking about lydia barkrock looking at this kid who's never been taught that it's okay to feel his feelings, all of them. wondering if she sees ragh's struggle with his identity mirrored in gorgug. does she feel guilty, for not noticing her son was so afraid to be who he is? does she wish she would have been more there, more open, more supportive? does she ever look at gorgug biting down his rage and think "don't do this, kid, don't go down that path, look at how much damage it did to my son"? does she consider talking to the thistlesprings about it? does she know about their parenting?

thinking about gorgug and ragh, having support in the aspect of their life they didn't really need– gorgug in his sexuality, ragh in his rage. do they bond, over this? do they joke about swapping parents sometimes? do they support each other in the ways their parents couldn't do for them?
