warning! slightly negative rant regarding jellycat<3

dont like how jellycatblr has been feeling lately. i find it odd a lot of the fandom is just for aesthetic, which makes it conflicting for them when someone carries a different stuffed animal around. dont get me wrong, im still head over heels for their designs, however i feel that the market and community has been ruined by scalpers and value. not that theres anything wrong with collecting ethically, i just feel like im alone for having worn down plushies and being posic+ for them. and all that weird stuff. im just feeling sort of alienated from the community right now. also to mention how shopping for jellycats has gotten immensely harder. i see signs at hallmark saying “2 jellycat limit”, and most stores are pretty much always sold out. the website is stuck in christmas level of stock. none of this is actively jellycats fault, however its not helping eliminate resellers by making them less likely to come by. god forbid someone wants a new release !!

anyhow i just wanted to talk about it, i really do love the few blogs and channels ive found that truly do appreciate the plushies in a way I can relate with, i just find myself not going onto the jellycat tag as often, because people like to throw it in with the girlblogging tags because its aesthetic, even when it has nothing to do with jellycat.

lord of the flies zombie apocalypse au :3 just flat colors for now but i'll redraw the image again one day

basically i finished watching Daybreak last year and thought "huh..." and then sketched them real good. this is a digital redraw of the first few sketches

so the story goes : instead of an island, the kids get trapped in a mall. there's zombies fuckin' all around and ralph decides they need to stay inside. they Cannot fight or they WILL die. jack thinks him cowardly and gathers the choir to kill the zombie that's been taunting them specifically in front of a meat freezer. they hang the head in the middle of the mall as a trophy.

the fire would be a signal for adults to see them from far away. they'd hide it behind big metal sheets so that zombies wouldn't see it and be drawn to it (which is how mulberry kid died, rip king) but the smoke would still rise.

at the end of the story the mall catches on fire lol

the beast is much less physical in their imaginations in this version. there's a huge looming threat that they'll get turned the same way their bus driver did (as opposed to the pilot)

i don't really know how piggy dies in this one or what happens to simon. perhaps his clothes get so dirty and he's so out of breath from running around that they mistake him for a zombie. perhaps they recognise him but believe he's turned. unfortunately the AU is still very much in the works despite being a year old

i do like writing that sweet friends to lovers arc. makes me feel warm and fuzzy. you'll love what's planned for mal/mc and mc/rami if you enjoy that trope, that's a promise.

so rami definitely has some deep feelings about mc, and it can vary from curiosity, to adoration, to immense sadness. he's just super invested in everything and anything mc and their past. in a friendly, scholarly way, of course. (romance route will have realizations, dw)

and oh boy, aldumat (anubis-inspired) wouldn't even have to look at z's soul to smell the rot emanating from them. immediate trip to their version of hell from there.
